Today's Jo Daily rant but it's written more like an actual essay/book report complete with quotes and highlights

"Maybe I’m just cut out to be around men more than I am girls at this point" don't you just love how slightly fucked up upbringings hinder your relationships and gender and relationship with gender? That's definitely not exactly how I feel haha 😃😔.

"It’s all so much more simple with Rick" and "I can just behave the ways I’ve been raised to rather than wondering how to act like I always do around Cassie, and now Eileen". It took me a while (like it's gonna take Jo) to realise that simplicity in relationships isn't always happiness. The way you've been raised to act isn't always the way you should act or even the way you would if you weren't taught hetronormativity. Jo is realising she's acting differently (maybe even authentically) around Cassie and Elieen and it's scaring her slightly because we all crave the surety of taught gender norms and relationship norms (romantic and platonic).

"I love the way I just know who to be around Rick. I can be Jo, his girlfriend". Honey this is called an identity crisis. There are better ways to figure those out then by denying your gay.

"I really do like him a lot". Okay Jo, who are you trying to convince 🤨👀

"Ash doesn't, though". Well then he's right.

"His vibes are off". If Ash says his vibes are off then his vibes are off. Listen to the man. This is my first solid reason to start hating on Rick and I'm eating it up. If he turns out to be phobic of the homo I'm calling it.

"mine and Rick’s relationship is special, it’s grounding". Grounding as in dead weight?

"It’s safety, and in a hunter’s life that’s the rarest thing you can find." Safey = a prison of your own making, comfort zones you've become too comfortable in, safety in hiding in pre-assigned roles, a shield to hide behind from your personal truth etc etc.

Also isn't the hunting community just a big metaphor for the gay community back in like 50s 60s 70s 80s? Safety isn't a thing here, just the bravery to love.

Anyway it's 1:32 am and I put more work into this than I did my CBAs.

Jack is so excited because he gets to be ring bearer twice in one month! He's so excited that he forgets to actually drop the flowers along the aisle and just dumps them in a pile at the end. Everybody laughs and he smiles back, toddling to the front pew to sit on his Aunt Rowena's lap. When Eileen comes down the aisle, she leans down and grabs a handful of the petals and blows them toward Jack who giggles and tries to catch a few. It's a very warm moment.

When Sam and Elieen first babysit toddler! Jack, Dean and Cas left a list of movies and shows that Jack wasn’t allowed to watch. Sam looked over the list, reading it over.

“Really, guys? Swan Princess?” Sam asked confused as to why such a harmless movie was on the list.

Dean looks Sam dead in the eyes. “We watched that last week. You don’t want him to watch that.”

Sam still confused, “Why did it give him nightmares?”

“Tell him what Jack did Cas,” Dean says.

Cas sighs, “He sneaked out during the full moon, stood in the stream and... turned himself into a swan.”

Sam looks back over to Jack who was learning ASL from Elieen.

Then back at the list, “Did he... is all of this because he...”

“Yep,” Dean said, “If you find anything else that causes him to use his powers, just add it to the list.”

“Why does it say anything with a laugh track?”

“He... thought it was fun and gave us our own personal laugh track,” Cas said.

“We didn’t sleep for two days,” Dean added. “Well, good luck Sammy! Bye Jack, Daddy and I love you!”

Cas gave Jack one last hug and kiss. And with that they were gone and Sam was standing there more scared of what this night had in store for him than any hunt he’s been on.

Sam and Eileen begin working with the larger hunter community to make sure the children of hunters are receiving full educations. While both of them have grown to be happy in their lives despite the hard paths that brought them here, they also both know the pain of a lost childhood and want to help provide some normalcy and a way out for the next generation of kids. It starts with helping people get connected to online/virtual learning programs, faking addresses to enroll in virtual public school programs and running credit card scams for private school programs if for whatever reason the first isn’t an option. Eventually, they start opening up the bunker as a home schooling center to some more local hunters and those passing through. Their proudest moment is when a kid who has frequently sat in the library to study in peace and has gone to Eileen and Sam for help with algebra and editing essays commits to a college. One day Eileen is going for a routine check on a vampire nest, and comes across a young girl who has been bitten; when she brings her back to the bunker, Sam sees his younger self, scared, vulnerable, and at edge of being forced into monstrosity. This girl deserves a life too. So do so many others. As time goes on the bunker becomes increasingly full of life, hope, and learning rather then preparation for battle. Young people human or supernatural have a safe harbor to grow up without constant fear.

-fantasize about living in the bunker w/ tfw and caring for them like making and preparing their food, doing laundry, giving all of them love and affection, giving them therapy, letting them know they’re important and loved and cherished, etc. and letting dean come to terms with his bisexuality and hyping him up and supporting him and letting cas know that it’s totally ok to like men and to like dean and that he should do something like ask him out or whatever and setting up dates for them and sam and eileen and doing stuff like what mrs butters did from that one episode and attempting to help on hunts even though i suck shit and being comforted once and a while because sometimes i don’t feel valid and sharing the same music taste as dean and bonding with all of them and getting them their respective flags and i have some too because i’m also a part of the lgbtq+ community and they know that of course they do and then i would force jack and claire to hang out and that would be so much fun oh my god and then i could set claire and kaia up for a date or something
