Heeseung laid down next to him.

"why aren't you asleep yet m/n-hyung?", heeseung asked tiredly.

You and Heeseung, both members of Enhypen, had decided to film a cover of your favorite duet song. Ni-Ki sighed, realizing that he couldn't keep his feelings a secret any longer. He looked at you, who was still dancing, and then back at the members. "Okay, okay, you caught me. I think I… I might have feelings for Y/N."

The members erupted in playful laughter, clapping Ni-Ki on the back and giving him knowing looks. It was clear that they had suspected something was going on, and they were more than happy to tease Ni-Ki about his newfound crush.

"Is this everyone?" Seon asked.

"Twenty three, is that all of us?" Jay added, looking around. Just as he said so, the number stuck on the screen turned to fourteen.

"What?" the room was filled with the confused sounds of the I-LAND contenders.

"Why is it suddenly fourteen?" Sunoo asked to no one in particular.

"Ooh, someone's coming"

"Unnie, I don't want to go in first, I'm nervous," Haneul said, stopping just before we step into the contestant-filled room.

"Do you want to go first?" Alice asked Binna, the oldest of the bunch.

"That room is filled with twenty-three boys, it's kind of intimidating," Binna chuckled nervously, earning Haneul and Alice's agreement.

Without uttering a word, I stepped forward and entered the lit up corridor, leading our way into the room. Immediately, I noticed a large fourteen displayed on a screen behind where the contenders sat.

The murmurs and surprised reaction from the boys were very much audible, and I find myself getting nervous again. We gave each other bows and the girls and I stood in one line.

"Here they come," Rain smiled. "Do they know that there was going to be girls as well?"

"No, not really, but they know that we'll send some really interesting trainees," Bang PD explained. Everyone had signed a contract before joining so they should be fine."We found that co-ed groups have not been doing that well so we really want to debut one that will hopefully succeed."

"As you can tell, there's mostly male members, because the girls aren't set to debut. All of them can get eliminated as well and we'll be left with a boy group, we have to see if this will work well or not," he added.

"Co-ed groups are hard, usually people specialise in either a boy or a girl group," Zico commented.

"That's true, we hope that we can see great potential through I-Land. Co-ed groups could bring so much to the table."

"They're girls," Youngbin muttered with wide eyes, having a hard time believing what he was seeing.

"Wait, are they the 'interesting trainees'?" asked K, and was met with an abundance of 'ah's.

"I didn't think they would be this interesting, though," Jay thought out loud. Nevertheless, he was excited. He heard rumours that there would be an ex-YG trainee, and from the looks of it, he had a feeling that it was the first girl who walked in.

"I was quite surprised that there were girls but there aren't many co-ed groups so I'm excited," Byeon EJ said in his self-camera.

"Having girls could add a different charm into the final group," Taki commented in his.

"The girls could provide a colour that we probably can't show."

I knew I needed to keep my head up, I couldn't let anyone know that I was nervous, not on the first day. Unfortunately, as I was standing on the lit up floor, all I could do was stare at the large fourteen.

Girl, is this what YG taught you?

I mentally sighed at my self conscious. I've been training at YG for more than two years and I can't even do their most important lesson, eye contact.

Okay, you can do this. You are the baddest bitch out there and you will only debut if you stop being nervous.

Stop being nervous..

Now.

I decided to make eye contact with the first guy I see, which was the one wearing a brown flannel. Oh, I should have never done that.

He's. So. Cute. Fuck.

No! Do not blush.

Stop blushing idiot.

I adverted my attention back to the screen as I tried to contain the smile and flush on my face.

Great, now I might look like I'm trying to hold in my laugh, and everyone can see it.

Stupid flannel guy.

"Della is a top trainee. Singing, rap, dance, everything," it's no secret that Bang PD was excited to have so many talented individuals on the show. "She trained in another company for more than two years. She's been with us for five months but is incredibly talented."

"Her aura is very cool, very confident. I'm expecting a lot," Rain nodded.

"They're really pretty," Daniel said in awe, followed by a chorus of 'pretty', 'so charismatic' and 'really pretty's.

Sunoo saw the first girl who walked in suck her cheeks and purse her lips, looking as if she's about to burst. It looked like she was either trying to hold her laugh or blush.

Yet the red tint on her face confirmed that it was a blush and he found himself smiling at her endearingly.

"They look very hip," Jimin commented, feeling slightly nervous at the charisma flowing out of the group.

Heeseung observed all of the girls. They were all wearing denim shorts but had different vibes and styles.

The one who looked like the youngest had long, light brown hair and wore a long sleeved crop top. She gave off an innocent and girly vibe.

Only one of them had short hair, she was also the only one who wasn't wearing a crop top. Her face supported a small smile and she had an elegant feel.

The next one had a vibe that reminded Heeseung of Red Velvet, he couldn't really understand why. Her hair was pulled into a ponytail and from where he sat, he could see her hands shaking. 'If we're nervous, I can't imagine how she feels,' he thought.

The last one was the first one to enter, therefore the first one who caught everyone's eye. She was the tallest, with black-brownish hair. Her eyes were sharp and she was the only one who stood in a relaxed manner. She had a girl crush feel and he definitely felt the room get intimidated by her looks.

Oddly enough, he wasn't. He found her absolutely adorable.

Note to self; do not look at flannel guy during your performance.

The girls and I watch as the boys scoot over to make room for us and we found ourselves sitting next to a guy wearing mostly white and a striped shirt.

"Woah, it's warm," I stupidly blurt out when I felt the 'seat' warming my thighs and butt. All the girls and some of the nearest guys laughed out at what I said.

Stop being embarrassing you stup-

"Let's do this," Alice said and held my hand, which I noticed was shaking.

I looked at her, concerned. We've known each other for as long as I've started training, we even came from YG together. I know about her anxiety and lack of confidence. 'I'm okay,' she mouthed with a small smile.

"Is this actually all of us this time?" I heard someone say. After a few moments, the room turned red and the floor started moving, surprising my easily startled self. I held Alice's hand tighter, making her chuckle before she rubbed her thumb against my hand.

The floor can move, how cool is that?

A voice boomed out of the walls and explained the task at hand. I watch as the rules make everyone nervous and determined at the same time.

Self voting? That's just harsh.

"What if their votes are based off of comparison?" Haneul asked us after it was revealed to be an individual test. "If I do well but not as well as unnie, I can get eliminated," she explained.

"Oh sh- oh my, yeah," I replied. "Let's just hope they're not biased"

The first participant, please go to the stage.

"Should we go f-," I was cut off when I saw one guy making his way to the stage. "Okay, second or third," I mumbled.

Suddenly the stage started moving towards the entrance, which amused me a lot.

"Yo, the stage just moved," I excitedly said to Alice. She looked at me with furrowed eyebrows.

"We took that to get here, though?" she said, confused. I froze and thought about it.

Did we..?

Binna laughed and Haneul pinched my cheek. "How else did you think we got here, we didn't even walk," Alice added and realisation struck me.

Stupid flannel boy making me look like an idiot. I hope they don't broadcast this.

"I swear, you're not older than me," Haneul smiled endearingly as if I was the youngest one.

Well it's not like I mind, she doesn't even call me unnie.

We stopped and paid attention to the boy who went up first. He did his greeting and started his performance shortly after.

Seon was good but he was definitely tense. He had to perform by himself and had all the attention on him.

Poor guy, I'm definitely voting for him.

So I voted for everyone, big deal. It wasn't like my vote mattered that much anyway. Besides, if they were all here then the producers must find them worthy of being in I-Land.

Remember how I said I wanted to go second or third? Well somehow we found ourselves being the final unit. We almost went third to last but Binna said that if we're going to go later, we might as well be the very last one, good point.

We saw so many great performers (who are all very attractive and idol-like, how is that possible?) and find ourselves losing confidence as more went up to the stage. The quota for I-Land is very limited for this many talented people.

On top of that, flannel boy (who I learned was named Jake) went just before us so I'm currently a blushing mess who needs to calm down, fast.

For fuck's sake, when was the last time I even blushed? This is embarrassing.

"Which one is it?" Alice whispered, making me blush even more. I hid my face in her shoulder and whined. She chuckled quietly before rubbing my thigh. "It's Jake, isn't it?" Oh I can definitely feel her smirk.

"Shut up," I hit her arm lightly. I felt my cheeks calm down and paid attention to the three boys on stage again. The voting had just finished and the staff is helping them remove their microphones.

"I can't believe we're going last," I sighed, staring at the minus two. Everyone will be more picky, what if none of us gets through?

"It's okay, let's do our best"

Niki watched in anticipation as the stage transported the girls. He knew of the rumours. He knew that there would be two ex-YG trainees competing, and he had a feeling that one of them was the first girl who entered.

"I wonder what they'll be performing," Hanbin voiced. "Maybe a girl group song?"

"I think it might be something strong," Riki replied, sitting on the edge of his seat from anticipation.

"Ah, I'm really curious," Jay said to Sunghoon.

"There's not that many co-ed groups, no?" Sunghoon asked, looking at the girls who were getting their microphones set up.

"Exactly," Jay whispered and watched as the girls make a line, all set to go.

"Alice and Della have been training for over two years but Haneul and Binna have only been trainees for around a year," Bang PD informed. "They have great potential."

"I really can't wait to see their performance, we have a potential co-ed group here," Zico commented.

"They are the last group, though. They must be very nervous," Rain added.

"Hello!" the girls greeted and bowed all together. Each of them stated their names and age before making their way into position, all muttering a small 'fighting.'

Della crouched down and looked over at Alice, whose eyes were already at her.

"You got this," Alice whispered.

"You own this," Della encouraged back with a smile. She turned her attention back to the front and let out a deep breath.

Let the performance begin.

The speakers blasted the intro to Stray Kids' Miroh and Della felt her mind go blank and enter stage mode.

She kept her eye contact and switched from boy to boy, making sure that everyone was enjoying their two-minute performance.

As her part came up, she could see the shock written on the boys' faces. It wasn't only because she was rapping to Han Jisung's part, it was also her charisma.

The impressed looks kept going as she sang to the chorus, revealing that she can sing as well.

A series of 'woah's were clearly heard as they watch Della borderline flirt with the audience, with them.

They finished strong and Della could feel her mind slowly regain consciousness as she stared into Youngbin's eyes for an 'ending fairy.'

"The one wearing the cardigan is crazy," Jay whispered loudly. Whoever could hear him all agreed, it was truly a successful performance on Della's part.

If there was one thing that went on in the guys' minds, it was "Kang Della will definitely debut."

sunoo gasps happily when the staff reveal that the reward is mint chocolate ice cream. next to you, sunghoon groans about how it’s the worst flavor. but sunoo doesn’t mind, excitedly grabbing a spoon.

“it’s the worst flavor!” jay complains.

“it’s not!” sunoo retorts. “y/n agrees with me.”

“i’ve actually never had it before.” you laugh.

jungwon turns to you. “you’ve never had it before?”

“no,” you shake your head. “i’m not a huge fan of sweets.”

“how long have i known you?” sunoo almost looks betrayed when you don’t outright take his side.

“can i try some?” sunoo nods, placing the spoon down. you lean over and press your lips against his, tasting the ice cream from his mouth. when you pull away, you lick your lips and contemplate for a moment.

“i think i like it.” sunoo blushes, reaching back for the previously discarded ice cream. next to him, niki laughs.

“are you blushing?” he teases.

a year later, she was then added to smrookies on july 2015 as she was starring on Disney Channel Korea show The Mickey Mouse Club as a Mouseketeer alongside other SM Rookies members. rumours were spreading around that the company might place her in the debut lineup for sm’s new girl group (which would later be aespa). however, she chose not to renew her contract with the company for an unknown reason

after her departure from the former company, she went back to hongkong to continue with her studies and reconnect with her parents; she was seen attending GOT7’s eyes on you concert in hongkong with her family in 2018.

fast forward to around september 2018, when she visited korea with her friends, she was invited to go for bighit’s audition by the company’s casting team due to a friend of hers who was a trainee there, recommended her; she became a bighit trainee and trained for a short while before joining the survival show known as I-LAND.

since she wasn’t revealed along with the other 23 trainees and her photo only revealed after her appearance on the first episode, the public was surprised to see her appearance after lying on a low profile since smrookies. she ended up receiving second place in the final episode of I-LAND, joining the final lineup of ENHYPEN.

she debuted on november 30, 2020, as the only female member of the co-ed group ENHYPEN.

being the first female in a co-ed group of an unbalanced ratio between male and female members, definitely pressurise her since she had a lot of expectations to meet as well as a rather unknown and new situation to be in.

some of the public targeted mainly at her with lots of harsh remarks, causing her to be more nervous and even more reserved than she already was; fortunately, as time passes, she received more love in comparison and pulled in lots of fangirls and fanboys into the fandom.

she is known for her stage presence, facial expressions, vocals, and being a musically talented and the 8th most versatile artist when on-stage; she’s known for her adorable 4D personality, soft-spoken nature, humour, maturity and being dramatic when off-stage.

she auditioned for mixnine as a sm trainee and passed, placing in the ‘a’ class in just dance showcase; she ended up ranking first place on the girls’ team in the final episode of mixnine, but did not get to debut because the girls’ team lost to the boys’; during the show, yang hyunsuk stated that if she wasn’t already under sm, he would’ve offered her a place in yg.

shortly after mixnine, there were rumours spreading around about that she might debut as a soloist or was confirmed in the lineup for sm’s new girl group (which would later be æspa), however, she chose not to renew her contract with the company for the sake of her mental health.
