Kiku & Tsuru in Okobore for post #914. This is just a still frame in Episode 959 as we see the scene with Tsuru back in Okobore. The subtitle should help place it. I like it though. Showing her thinking for a moment of Kiku being the happy poster girl. You know, I think the idea that month was incredibly healthy for Kiku in those circumstances is pretty rock solid. It changed her, and I feel that doubly so after checking out Bagdad Cafe. 

It’s subtle, but one of the most thoughtful things anyone’s done for her. The whole deal with Okobore for Kiku is that it was proper and sticking to the mission to be an average young woman. For such a short moment, it says so much about the caliber of woman Tsuru is to both ascertain that and resist the temptation to confirm her husband is alive.

Foundations of AIM

The American Indian Movement (AIM) was established in Minneapolis, Minnesota in July 1968. Its main goal was to address pressing issues that were prevalent in Native communities and reservations in the United States. Initially, the American Indian Movement focused on matters like police brutality, poverty and discrimination faced by Native Americans living across the United States. However, over time the movement expanded its scope, and started addressing tribal issues that were deeply rooted in the historical context of settler colonialism in the Americas.

Treaty Rights and the Trail of Broken Treaties

One of AIMs objectives was to address the violation of treaty rights, which had implications for Native American communities nationwide. The movement also tackled the unemployment rates among Native Americans. Fought for better representation of indigenous subjects within the education system. Additionally AIM became an advocate for preserving cultures and recognizing the urgent need to protect these rich heritages from assimilationist pressures. A key event within this movement to raise awareness for treaty rights was the Trail of Broken Treaties, which was a march that took place in 1972 that lasted from October to November, where the movement marched from the west coast of the United States to the nation’s capital in Washington, District of Columbia.

Tribal Brotherhood within the Movement

An important aspect of AIM's formation can be traced back to its organizers – men who had previously served time together in prison. Their personal experiences contributed to a sense of alienation, from their backgrounds, which was further intensified by public laws that shaped Native American lives.

The Indian Relocation Act

The Indian Relocation Act, also known as Public Law 959 was enacted in 1956 to support the migration of American Indians from reservations to cities with the aim of expanding their opportunities. Another important piece of legislation commonly referred to as the Termination Act or Public Law 280 sought to sever relations with tribes that were perceived to be progressing towards assimilation.

The Wounded Knee Occupation

A significant milestone in the activism of the American Indian Movement (AIM) occurred during the Wounded Knee Occupation, which commenced on February 27, 1973. This occupation took place in Pine Ridge, South Dakota on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and involved around 200 Oglala Lakota individuals and supporters of AIM. It served as a response to injustices and systemic challenges faced by Native American communities. It was also to protest Native American leadership on reservations as well as serve as a sign to congress to show how they had abandoned their promises that were made to the Native Peoples of the United States.

In addition to its focus on concerns for their communities, AIM emerged as a strong advocate for Native American rights and a force against systemic inequalities. act of grace (G, 1000) by @one-more-page - alternate first kiss! the Stede POV narration is really fantastic here, lots of little sensory detail.

whole, holy (T, 3009) by @queerspacepunk - inspired by a fantastic post by @chuplayswithfire, the writing is so gorgeous I want to eat it. post-reunion: the whole question of harm and repair and defiling explored deftly and beautifully.

oh, (T, 2196) by @welcomemysentence (oh hey I did go through this author's fic like all in one day recently; IIRC if you are looking for spicier works there's also some good things to read) - a very sweet small reunion fic.

Max looked at his phone one last time, a fond smile though on his muzzle as he quickly put it back in his pocket and looked at his date next to him.

He still felt like he was in a dream, an incredible dream where the funniest and most unique guy had accepted a date with him.

He couldn't help but admire the outfit he had decided to wear today, although the mere fact that he was wearing something other than those smoky topaz pants and lavender polo shirt already made him feel so special that it was hard to keep his tail still. Today, however, he was wearing a mustard-colored Top T-shirt with a Darkwing Duck print with jean pants with a calf-length hem. Overall it was simple, but Max couldn't help but think that he looked so cute.

“You're going to like this place. It’s like a vegan ice cream parlor.” Max said, once he managed to take his eyes off Yakko to see that they were reaching his destination.

“vegan?” Yakko tilted his head with a curious look.

Max stopped when he arrived at the place, a humble place with pastel colors and an eighties style. He steps in front of Yakko, opening the door and holding it for him. That made Yakko's cheeks turn pink as he entered first.

“They make the ice creams with completely lactose-free milk, the standard is almond milk, but if you are allergic, they have options with soy milk.” he explained, as they both approached the register and the employee who was smiling at them.

Yakko perked up. "That sounds great."

The employee across the bar took this opportunity to speak.

“Good afternoon, what would you like to order? We have a promotion today: Three-ball cup. You can choose the flavor you want from our options and when you finish you can take the cup home.” The boy raised his hand, showing the screens above him with the promotions, he pointed out where the cup with ice cream of different flavors was and in the corner the price.

“Oh, Dot would like to drink grape juice there to look fancy, shall we order that?” Asking, Yakko turned to Max for an answer.

"Sure." Max nodded at Yakko and quickly looked back at the employee. “Two cups please.”

The employee nodded back and then pointed to the other side of the bar where the trays of ice cream flavors are displayed. “Choose your flavors.”

Yakko quickly walked over to look at each flavor, his hand holding his chin while the other rested on his hip. Meanwhile, Max took out his wallet and paid for the ice cream beforehand.

When he joined Yakko, he was still struggling, his bean eyes narrowed in a look of pure, adorable concentration.

Max took a moment to appreciate the view and then looked at the flavors. “For me… Oreo, vanilla and tiramisu.”

The boy who served them began to pour Max's drink when Yakko finally decided. “mint, chocolate and caramel please.”

They received their glasses with a spoon and found an empty table by the front window. They ate the first fifteen minutes in silence, Max fascinated by Yakko's expressions as he took his first bite of each flavor as if it were the most delicious thing in the world.

“so, this is your first date?” 

The sudden question caught Max a little off guard, almost dropping the ice cream off his spoon before putting it in his mouth.

He thought about it while he ate, looking out the window at the people passing by on the street.

“Well, I had a girlfriend in high school, we dated during the summer of our senior year, but when she started college she left the country, a week later we realized that it wasn't worth staying at a distance and we left it as friends.”

Yakko ponders for a moment, before asking another question. “And how was your first date with her?”

“Do you really want to know that?” Max raised an eyebrow.

The other shrugged, “I'm curious, sue me.” taking a spoonful of mint and putting it in your mouth.

Max was quiet for a moment, before smiling sideways without looking at Yakko. “I took her to a special ice cream shop.” He barely finished the sentence, covering his face and trying to dodge the napkins that were thrown at him while he laughed. Once calmed down, he spoke again. “I actually took her to the cinema. I was so nervous that I couldn't remember anything about the movie when it was over, the next day I came back alone just to watch it again."

There was silence at the table after that, although it wasn't awkward or heavy so Max saw no need to worry. He ate more of his ice cream until he had less than half left when Yakko spoke again.

“You don't look nervous now.” His voice was softer, not accusatory, but inquisitive.

Max smiled, looking Yakko in the eyes. “I was nervous when I asked you out because I didn't know if you would say yes, but you make me feel calm, I feel like myself when I am with you.”

Yakko's cheeks flushed red before he lowered his gaze shyly. “I think the opposite happens to me.”

Max tilted his head, a gesture associated with a confused but still cheerful puppy. "in a good way?"

Yakko laughed, his black eyes having a special sparkle in them. "In a good way. You bring out a side in me that I didn't even know and I like it.”

"I like it too. I like everything about you, in fact.”

Those ’70s Comics: 959

Inspired by episode 513 - “Your Time Is Gonna Come”

Comments: Hyde’s insecurity about Jackie’s romantic feelings for him and fear of her using him to hurt Kelso go back to their S2-S3 arc (even if the T7S writers didn’t realize it or intentionally write Hyde in S5 with that in mind). In S2-S3 Jackie pursues Hyde for months, first for friendship then for romance, and Hyde develops romantic feelings for her during all their interactions --

Only for Jackie to realize she doesn’t have true romantic feelings for Hyde after all and ultimately reconciles with Kelso. Hyde, understandably, feels used by her and brings that wounding into their S5 romantic relationship.

Today’s comic bridges the gap the show should have, connecting the different pieces of Hyde’s series’ long relationship (up to this point in the show), to create a cohesive storyline and character arc.

In the comic’s last two panels we see the bracelet Hyde makes and gives Jackie for their first Christmas as a couple. It’s symbolic of his love for her, and she puts her faith into that love. She hopes he loves her enough to push past his pain and fear so that they can work through what happened at Burt’s funeral.

In this au (cause I wanted to draw for it) Morro's taking care of Haurmi and Lloyd, and this is one of the times he's trying to teach lloyd how to use is elemental powers. (morro's a master and the only one with morals)

Crystalized spoilers??

ok but what if the reason Lloyd's so willing to try and give Haru a second chance is because he sees himself in her, he seen his young naive self who just wanted someone to hate and be angry at. Lloyd looks at Harumi and sees a lost kid someone who's hurting and need a hand in the right direction and he want to help her wants to be what Kai was to him to her.

And the reason he's so not willing to hear Garmadon out is cause he sees someone he can become, he looks at his dad, and sees what will happened if he gives up if he let's himself be to angry if he hates. and he doesn't want that, so even if Garmadon gets better is better, lloyd can't except that because that means maybe just maybe he'll be bad one day and hurt those he loves.

that or this is just me rambling, I've only watched to episode 12 (13?) and none of the other stuff so technically I haven't seen how he interacts with Garm but here's some thoughts I had

Do I come up with too many au's?

Probably, but a lass here's another it goes along with the 'let's beat density' au I have, kinda a backstory to that one, changed a few things and so forth.

So any way the base of this au is Morro gets out of the Cursed realm when Lloyd's a little 5 year old, and ends up taking him in, now you may ask 'why'd Morro take him in? Morro's not nice' and yes you are right, but when he meets Lloyd struggling to live on his own (just thrown out of darkly's) Morro can't help but be reminded of when he was alone and hungry and really needed someone, and maybe just maybe that small part of Morro that still wants to be a hero takes Lloyd in.

And so we start the miss adventures of a Ghost and his boy.
