I always see the idea that John would look at a buck and think "hello, old friend" but I never see the idea how Jack would see a wolf and think "hey, pops"

Mina writing about how sweet Lucy looks when she sleeps and how men before marriage don't get to see that. And then Seward does and it's just. He cares so deeply about Lucy and takes her fears seriously and even tho he's in love with her he doesn't get creepy (as many men in lit often do). The relationships in this book are the best.

when everyone in black sails betrays each other, but that doesn't wavier the love they have even if they really want to hate the person who betrayed them.
eleanor finding peace in scott's betrayal and bonding with madi.
flint comforting eleanor at the time of her death.
jack saving max by letting her come with him when the spanish invade and also in defence against flint.
anne forgiving max.
madi and silver reconciling at the end.
the many times sliver and flint were against each other.
like some of this shit is actually insane. eleanor tried to kill flint multiple times. she wanted that man GONE, yet she died in his arms. max pretty much nearly got jack killed, and silver went against madi's back to break the one thing she really wanted.

Ohhhh, Cas and Dean talking to Jack in 14x15 under the guise of talking to/about the snake is sooooooooo 🥺
Jack is defensive about opening up about his emotions, so the snake becomes neutral ground -> code for Jack himself.
🐍 🐍 🐍 🐍 🐍 🐍 🐍 🐍 🐍 🐍
AHHHHH! Kill me now.
Cas:
CAS: You've been spending a lot of time with the snake. ("You've been spending a lot of time alone.")
...
CAS: How is he? ("How are you?")
JACK: I don't think he's feeling well. ("I don't think I'm feeling well.")
///
DEAN:
JACK: I think it's sad. ("I think I'm sad.")
...
DEAN: (accepting this, not pushing him) You try bacon?
(Jack adds bacon to the pan)
DEAN: So does the snake want to take a trip? ("Do you want to take a trip?")
