This Euonymus fortunei 'Silver Queen' (evergreen bittersweet, spindle) has been allowed to cover this garden wall. The variegated leaves are semi-evergreen and tolerant of shade, salt-laden air and drought once established.

A native of European hedgerows Euonymus europaeus 'Red Cascade' (spindle) is a large, deciduous shrub. In autumn the leaves turn bright red and the fruit are bright rose-pink which open to reveal the orange seeds. This plant will grow in full sun or partial shade in a range of well-drained soil types.
