~ Please read our extensive event info posts before sending us an ask ~

WHUMPTOBER is a month-long, prompt-based creation challenge (think: Inktober, but whumpier). There are 31 official themes this year - one for each day of the month - which can be used, skipped, or combined in any way you’d like. The 'theme' of each day is the line of lyrics.

The prompts are merely to serve as inspiration without being taken literally (e.g. you don’t have to include the exact wording of prompts into your work). Feel free to run rampant on interpretation. For example, if the prompt is "flame", you could create something with reference to a candle/campfire, your character could have suffered a burn, or the flame could be related to an 'old flame' - an old relationship. It's truly down to you!

In total, there are 4 prompts for each day: there's lyrics, an object, a trope and a line of dialogue to choose from. We want to give everyone as much creative freedom as possible, as well as increase event accessibility for folks with triggers and squicks. There is also a list of 15 alternative prompts that can be subbed in for any day, again to give participations as much creative freedom as possible.

Creators can PRODUCE work in any media they choose, including but not limited to: writing, visual artwork, photo/video/audio edits, paper crafts and elaborate recommendation lists (not just a list of links). Creators can PARTICIPATE as much or as little as they want (i.e. you don’t have to do ALL the prompts if you don’t want to) and prompts can be used in any order. They are also free to use even after the event ends.

Unfortunately, due to the sheer number of participants in recent years, we cannot guarantee your work will be archived. A random selection of properly tagged posts from all genres will be reblogged each day.

Whumpers who produce content for 31 total theme days are considered event completionists and will be tagged in a masterpost at the end of the month. A form will be published at the beginning of November asking you to tell us if you completed the event. You do not need to post anything you have created, we rely on trust and we will not check this.

Questions not addressed in one of our many event info posts can be directed to this blog. We will not answer any questions that have been answered in the FAQs or rules already.

rules and guidelines:

All works must focus on the romantic relationship between Zuko and Aang. Other ships are welcome, as long as Zuko and Aang are front and center. 

There are 2 prompts for each day. You can choose one or both of them to inspire your work. If none of the prompts speak to you, feel free to create your own Zukaang content. The prompts are meant to promote creativity, not restrict it!

NSFW/Mature content is allowed and encouraged, as long as you tag everything appropriately. So on tumblr, that means following their guidelines for NSFW images. On AO3, that means giving your fic the appropriate rating and tags.

Any kind of creative content is allowed! Fanfiction, fanart, edits, playlists, headcanons, moodboards, ANYTHING!

As always, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. This is to promote others’ creativity and create a positive community, and that is done through encouragement and support.

how do i participate?

Create your content and post it on tumblr. If you post on ao3, make sure to share the link on tumblr. Also make sure to add it to the Zukaang Week ao3 collection, which will be posted about later. Tag this blog in the main body of your post (@zukaangweek). In the tags, tag “zukaang week 3023" 

If we don’t reblog your post within 24 hours, feel free to send us a message with the link! I’m sure we all know how unreliable the tumblr tagging system is, we would never intentionally not reblog someone’s post!

2. if i’m not a creator, how can i support zukaang week?

The best way to support content creators leading up to and during Zukaang Week is to let them know you support them! Reblog and comment on their work, send zukaang content into this blog for us to post, etc. We’ll be reblogging zukaang content from now up until the week itself. Supporting that work now will encourage creators for the event week itself.

How do I share my work for the week?

— Please tag your posts with #saorarepairweek and they will be reblogged.

When is the event taking place?

— May 6th - May 12th, 2024!

What kind of content and creations are included in the event?

— Anything! Fanfics, fanart, edits (including gifsets, graphics, etc), cosplays, meta posts, memes, etc. If you made it, share it!

What ships are included in the event?

— Any ship currently under 50 works on AO3 in the main Sword Art Online tag. You can filter by relationships and see how many works are posted for any ship.

— Ships in the alternative series’ are also allowed, including GGO Alternative, and any alternative side-stories.

— Anything with over 50 works currently posted on AO3.

Summer Won't Last Forever; 100 Follower Event (Closed)

Technically past the OG 100, but oh well; better a little late than never! And thank you for the support, and I'm happy that people are enjoying the silly little stories I write. Now; onto the event!

Duration

I will be holding this event for 10 requests for followers. Once this is filled, I will be closing the event. This is so I don't overwork myself. The only exception will be for mutuals. Mutuals get special treatment, yes.

Once they are filled I will close the ask box until I'm done writing them, which. The ask box will then return after the event.

For mutuals, hit me up in messages if I close the ask box before you can get in ^v^

1 request per person; the only exception I may make is for mutuals (depending on engagement).

1 character per request; but do include two backups in case I already received an ask for X character with X prompt (also in case there are a lot of requests for one character). You may also include a backup prompt in case it has already been used.

Valentine’s Core Exchange Rules and Posting Guidelines

Welcome to the first Valentine’s Core Exchange! These are the rules that have been set for the event. Please follow them to make sure that every participant has a safe and fun experience.

Exchange Rules:

You may post small bits and ideas of your work within your designated artist/writing channels, but no identifying pieces or spoilers

Posting Guidelines:

Tag posts as Valentines Core Exchange 24 verbatim.

When posting, tag the event blog and your recipient so they can easily access it.

When posting on Tumblr, put all written posts or long posts under the cut.

Properly tag content on AO3 and submit the fanfiction to the event collection. The event collection will be posted within the Discord a week before posting day.

When posting art, use image description for accessibility. This is not mandatory, but heavily encouraged.

Fill out the submission form with all locations you have posted your work on.

It is asked that you follow all of the rules. Mods will issue one warning for mild behavior and for second offenses there will be time outs within the server. Third strike or extreme/harsh behavior will cause removal from the event. Misunderstandings do happen, so if there is a mistake please inform the mods. Rules & Info

The relationship between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan must be the focus of the fanwork, and that relationship can be either gen or romantic.

The fanwork must be a new piece of work: a. New work posted to a pre-existing series (i.e. a part 2, not a chapter 2) is allowed. b. New chapter posted to a pre-existing fic/WIP (i.e. chapter 1 was already posted prior to cards going out) is not allowed.

No under 18 spicy content, i.e. both characters must be over 18 in NSFW/smut fills.

Label, rate, and tag your fills accordingly. Tag your Tumblr posts sharing your entries and completed bingos for us to reblog appropriately. Clearly indicate in your posts whether the entry is NSFW and if any content notes or trigger warnings apply. a. If using Tumblr to post your entries, the content of your written entries must be below a cut, and all NSFW or triggering content must be below a cut.  

One new entry can fulfill multiple prompts. a. Example 1: a 3-part comic and each part fills a different prompt. b. Example 2: you write a 4 chapter fic and each chapter is dedicated to a different prompt while still being one complete story.

Crossposting to this event and another is allowed, provided that the other event also allows crossposting.

If you would like to swap any squares for any reason, we can swap them out for you up to May 25th 2023. You can swap up to 5 squares, however this can only be done once.

Once we receive your completed form we’ll put a card together for you. We will start sending out cards on May 11th 2023 and will do our best to send everyone a card out on that day. If you have not received your card within a week, please let us know by emailing [email protected] or messaging us via tumblr DM with the name/email you signed up with.

Can I request a second card?

You can request a card (or a second/third card) up to two weeks before the bingo ends by filling in this form.

It may take us a little time but we will try to get a card out to you as soon as we can. If we haven’t sent you a card within a week, please email us at [email protected] with the email and nickname you signed up to the bingo with.

How to fill

After signing up, you will receive your personal bingo card with the nickname that you signed up with on it and a transparent PNG stamp by email. Here’s an example of an empty card:

Rules

Here are our official rules for the event! They’re subject to change, but we’ll be trying to keep them all steady as not to catch anyone off-guard, and we’ll reblog this post when they do. In general we’ll be pretty light on rules except for some big things!

Last update: Nov. 1st, 2023. 

Rule #1: No revealing who your Giftee is before Gifting Week. This goes against the spirit of the gift exchange! Accidents happen of course, but please try your best to keep it a secret. If you need to reveal early then message us and we’ll talk it through!

Rule #2: No bigotry. This includes, but is not limited to: racism, transphobia, homophobia, sexism, and the such. Works mentioning / having these topics are allowed so long as they are tagged properly and treated with care- and, of course, so long as the giftee hasn’t explicitly said no to them.

Rule #3: Respect Each Other’s Preferences / Headcanons Obviously, this doesn’t go for everything- our general rule of thumb is “If it isn’t erasing anything actually important, it’s cool”. If you think Nick is trans that’s wonderful. If you think Scary is black we still love you. And for any other headcanons, even if we don’t agree, they’re all fine, and we expect everyone to be respectful! We only have a problem when we come across things like “Glenn is white”, to which we say: don’t!

Rule #4: No Incest. We aren’t here to tell you what to and what not to ship. But because the theme of family is so important to Dungeons and Daddies, we just don’t think it would make sense for us to accept incest into this event. Hope that’s alright with everyone!

A note: Last year, we had a mid-event reveal that made a certain ship, uh… A little awkward! Basically it turns out a teen ship in season two consisted of two family members. Since this was mid-event, we made an exception to the rule and allowed those who’s giftees were comfortable to continue working on their gift with the ship. We won’t say the ship’s name to avoid spoiling people- but that ship will not be allowed since it’s a fresh start, and of course if anyone is early in the series and unaware we’ll reach out if they accidentally request it.

Rule #5: No NSFW. Specifically, no actual porn / smut. Tragic for an event about a BDSM podcast! But we don’t want any uncomfortable situations when minors might be involved, especially since minors are very much so able to, well, lie. Off-screen stuff and allusions or even mentions are fine. Basically: if it goes further than it’s gone in the podcast, it won’t be accepted.

Rule #6: Gifts CANNOT be part of a series To be specific, a fanfic gift cannot be from a pre-existing series that was created before / unrelated to the event.  This is unfair in the event that someone should feel they need to read a whole series to enjoy their gift, and it's also a way to bypass the rule on having no porn. Works can only be in a pre-existing series IF the series of a series of unconnected one-shots, and for that matter they should, again, have no rule-breaking content in the series. This rule also goes for comics and fanart, though the rules there are much looser due to the medium.

Thank you everyone for your prompt suggestions! The prompts have been chosen for Zukaang Week 2022, which will run July 4-July 8. Every day will have two prompts for you to choose from.

This post is intended to serve as a masterpost for the entire event. It will include the dates, prompts, rules, a FAQ, and some helpful resources! Make sure to click the read more to get ALL the information!

Rules

All works must focus on the romantic relationship between Zuko and Aang. Other ships are welcome, as long as Zukaang is front and center.

There are 2 prompts for each day. You can choose one or both of them to inspire your work. If none of the prompts speak to you, feel free to create your own Zukaang content. The prompts are meant to promote creativity, not restrict it!

NSFW/Mature content is allowed, as long as you tag everything appropriately. So on tumblr, that means following their guidelines for NSFW images. On AO3, that means giving your fic the appropriate rating and tags.

Any kind of creative content is allowed! Fanfiction, fanart, edits, playlists, headcanons, moodboards, ANYTHING!

How do I participate in Zukaang Week?

Create your content and post it on tumblr. If you post on AO3, make sure to share the link on tumblr. Also make sure to add it to the Zukaang Week AO3 collection, which will be posted about later. Tag this blog in the main body of your post (@zukaangweek). In the tags, tag “zukaang week."

If we don’t reblog your post within 24 hours, feel free to send us a message with the link! I’m sure we all know how unreliable the tumblr tagging system is, we would never intentionally not reblog someone’s post!

If I’m not a creator, how can I support Zukaang Week?

The best way to support content creators leading up to and during Zukaang Week is to let them know you support them! Reblog and comment on their work, send zukaang content into this blog for us to post, etc. We’ll be reblogging zukaang content from now up until the week itself. Supporting that work now will encourage creators for the event week itself.

Who is in charge of Zukaang Week?

RUTHERFORD FIGHT CLUB 2022:

Location: The Underground, Hackney. Hosts: Adriana Amaro. (And Lara Rutherford, as they’ll find out later.) Date: Saturday, September 3rd (canon) but role playing will start Friday. Dress Code: Black tie preferable. Black and white attire only.

ATTENDANCE:

Everyone should be able to attend one of the parties, but make sure your choice is the one you really want, because said choice will be final. Once the doors to fight club are closed, they don’t open again until the fights are complete. (Except for one exception this year, but that’ll be touched on later.) If you’re not friends with Adriana, or a Rutherford, don’t panic. Just about anybody can get in as a plus one as long as they’re vouched for by someone else. So, if you’re affiliated with anyone in the mob, particularly somebody fighting, then you’re fine and it makes sense. Have fun.

ADDITIONAL NOTES AND INFORMATION:

Fight Club is always a little hectic, and I get busy, so please do bear these things in mind before asking any questions about what is to come: 

Your characters do not know who they are matched with until they enter the Fight Club and see the list. Feel free to post how they would react to finding out their opponents, because it will be the first time they know.

All the rules for Fight Club can be found HERE. Please refresh your memory before taking part. Also be sure to follow The Underground page to keep updated on what’s going on, and to find all the fights and reactions in one place.

Also refresh your memory of the VENUE layout for descriptive purposes. 

I cannot stress it enough, despite the fact it’s in the rules listed above, but just to remind TWICE, there are no phones. You will not be able to contact people outside of the fight. You will not be able to message people in the club. You will not be able to find out what’s going on outside of the event until you leave.

It will not be common knowledge Lara is in attendance until she makes her appearance on the balcony. For all intents and purposes, none of you know until I post that mini-para of her arrival. Unless you’re family, obviously. Or her date.

I will let you know when to post your fights if you’re a part of one. The first fight will be posted Saturday evening, and we will go from there. Until then, feel free to post starters mingling and socially interacting in the club. We can enjoy a little social drama before all the bleeding starts, huh? 

Role playing will begin as soon as either I post the admin note, or Kara, Alexa or Mina makes it common knowledge in the group chat. At this point, all other threads will be postponed in favour of event related ones. Keep your eyes peeled.

you always knew marble hornets is good b/c fr from 2010 on the Many fans &/or the particularly Enthused &/or Dedicated &/or Lasting fans was noticeably to us all like hmm tending to be many people who are big fans of aLex Guy from the tunnel rip Brian Tim Questions Investigations Answers....i presume it still skews that way. i.e. Tastehavers i.e. Marble Hornets Is Good b/c it can resonate with queer experiences unlike horror that straight people are like "Hell Yeah truly this is good" about, which is a waste of everything
