Welcome to the QuiObi Bingo. This will be the first bingo focusing on the relationship between Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, both gen and romantic.

Q: What is a bingo?

A: A bingo is a fandom challenge where participants fill as many prompts as possible. You will receive a card (either a 3x3, 4x4 or 5x5 grid) containing a prompt in each square, and the goal is to try to get a bingo by completing prompts in a line (vertical, horizontal or diagonal) or a blackout if you fill all of the prompts.

"My particular specialty has been the elimination of Inquisitors," Qui-Gon said. "And they have not made it easier for me by traveling as lone wolves; it has been a challenge. They have been hunting us, and have left a number of trails for me to hunt them in return."

The words leapt to Obi-Wan's mind, and he winced at all they implied: hired killer. But it was not so, of course. No money had changed hands. Whatever Qui-Gon had done, he would have done to protect others, and out of a sense of what was right.

"What passes for Jedi honor is no longer of much concern to me, I'm afraid." Qui-Gon stood there, attired in familiar rough-spun tunic and worn boots, his saber at his belt, his hair tied back, and the longer Obi-Wan looked at him, the less he saw the teacher who was, and the more he began to see the emerging shape of a fearsome rogue Jedi. How many had he come up against, who had never even known a Jedi was their enemy, until it was too late?

"You said, you aren't the only former Jedi in Bail's network," Obi-Wan said. "Is that what you are - a former Jedi?"

"Do you disagree?"

"Yes," Obi-Wan said instantly. "Yes, I do."

Qui-Gon's fingertips grazed gently down the side of his face, and Obi-Wan closed his eyes. An echo of another touch, long ago. "Whatever I am, I am yours."

It was a promise made when they had believed they would never see each other again, and the resonance of it made Obi-Wan's chest ache. He had long believed he would never feel Qui-Gon's touch again, or hear those words; that these gifts had come as the aftermath of tragedy, or after so many years apart, did not diminish their power.

Something unbelievable happened this week.

A few months ago @mythrilthread  wrote to me asking if they could make a hand bound book of my fanfiction, three stories After the War, Water and Sunlight and Invitation, approx 85,000 words, as a gift for their close friend @lootthecoyote who is a longtime and fabulous reader of mine.

And they asked WOULD I LIKE A COPY as an author gift?

Of course I said yes.

The volume arrived this week! And I am BLOWN AWAY.

No lie, I cried.

Above are photos of the absolutely masterpiece of bookbinding art. Everything about the object is completely unbelievable - the cover, the art, the layout. It's bound with teal thread! Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's lightsabers line the top of the pages, facing each other no less. The original abstract art is on point.

I don't know if I'll ever publish a book, but it was SO moving to see this work in print. Even more than my phd dissertation, which, honestly, was not the labour of love this fanfic was.

I feel so seen and appreciated, all warm and fuzzy and full of awe.

Fandom is a magical place!
