Take Your OC to Work Day 2024

Event Date: May 5th, 2024

What is It?

Take Your OC to Work Day is a one-day multifandom mini-event focused on creating OC-insert fanworks for your OCs!

What's an OC?

An OC is an original character created by an author or artist who isn’t taken from a canon piece of media. An OC-insert fanwork is therefore any fanwork that introduces at least one OC into a fandom of your choosing. For the purpose of this event, your OC(s) should be the main focus or at least part of the main cast.

Rules:

It’s pretty simple— 1) bring along an OC (old or new), 2) pick a fandom, 3) stir well! So long as the OC is one you created, they can appear in any way you want (ie. as a separate original character, transmigrated into the body of a canon character, etc.).

Posting:

You can post any time on May 5th in any time zone. We will reblog with the link to an AO3 collection closer to that date. You can also make a tumblr post for your work, tag it #TakeYourOCtoWorkDay2024 or ping @ocinsertevents, and we will reblog it here.

1016 Week 2023!

Hello and happy Monza weekend, fellow Piarlies! ❤️💙 It's with great love and excitement that we're sharing with you the idea behind our next Pierre/Charles event: 1016 Week! We chose Monza to do the grand reveal because we couldn't think of any place that has better Piarles history - and that's what this fanweek is going to be all about. Celebrating Piarles, and all their gorgeous history, and everything that they are. ❤️

How is this event going to work?

If you've ever participated in a ship week/fanweek before, then this will work exactly the same as that! We've created a list of seven Piarles-themed prompts, one for each day of the event, and the idea is that everyone creates a little something inspired by each prompt to post on its specific day.

1016 Week will run from the 10th to the 16th (🥰) October 2023. Creation time starts as soon as you've got your prompts - which is to say, as soon as you finish reading this post!

We'd like this to be a fun and stress-free challenge for everyone, so we've tried to build in plenty of creation time for you all. Furthermore, we will not be enforcing deadlines very strictly at all - so if you do happen to miss a day or two, absolutely no worries! We will keep reblogging 1016 Week content to this blog right through to the end of the year. 💙

What kinds of content can I create for this event?

Any and all types of creative fanwork - fic, art, gifsets, photo edits, video edits, playlists and more - are welcomed in this fanweek! The only criterion is that its main focus must be the relationship between Pierre Gasly and Charles Leclerc.

Furthermore, there are no content restrictions for this challenge - NSFW, dark, or otherwise uncomfortable topics are accepted. However, we require any such content to be clearly identified in your title/summary/blurb and placed under a read-more cut, so that those who aren’t comfortable with seeing it can avoid it.

Prompts are general, and creators are free to interpret them however you want! As long as it's about Pierre Gasly and Charles Leclerc, and has something of the prompt's general theme in it, anything goes. ❤️

Do I have to complete all 7 days to be allowed to participate?

Not at all! You are free to complete as few or as many of the prompts as you want, and you can submit as many or as few creations per day as the muse inspires. 😁

When you've finished your creation and you're ready to share it with the Pierre/Charles world, @ this blog and use #1016 week 2023 in your first five tags so we can find and reblog your work. Don't forget to add what day of the prompt week your creation is fulfilling!

That's right! All day on Friday, September 15th, we'll be hosting students, teachers, and alums alike for a day of battling, sports, and good dancing! Perhaps even headed by... Homecoming Royalty...?

If you're interested in Homecoming, you gotta be in the know! I've gotten a little help from my tech savvy friend Penny and made a "Gliscord" you can all check out, whether you wanna plan, wanna show up looking #glam, or just chat!

Epel was more than a bit flustered when Poppy grabbed his gloved hand. She laughed as she pulled him along through the snow, though they were similar in height so he could keep pace with her, thankfully. He was glad that he was dressed properly when she tripped and he fell down into the snow with her.

They were back home from Night Raven College and wandering around the countryside. The afternoon sun provided some warmth, which he was glad for as he picked himself up out of the snow and gave Poppy a hand.

"Thanks!" She said happily. Epel nodded. "Eh- you're welcome, it wasn't nothing." He said bashfully. He was glad he was home for another reason: he could speak normally, letting his accent come out. Even though she was from the same town as him, Poppy didn't have any noticeable accent; in fact, the only hint she had of what town in the Shaftlands she was from was some of the phrases and terminology she used. Despite this, she didn't care if Epel spoke with his accent, and could understand him perfectly fine.

"Gotcha!" Poppy suddenly yelled, lightly tapping Epel on the shoulder before taking off into the woods. The leaves of the scattered apple trees were long since gone, but the rest of the trees still retained their leaves, though they were covered so heavily in snow that they drooped close to the ground. Epel lost track of Poppy almost as soon as she entered the woods.

He looked around for her bright red scarf and hat, but all he could see were snow-covered trees. Suddenly, something hit him in the back of the head. He gave a yell of shock and turned around, seeing the end of Poppy's coat disappear behind a nearby tree, her laughter drifting toward him.

"Oh, Ah'll get ya for that one!" Epel shouted, scooping up a handful of snow and packing it into a ball, racing to the other side of the tree. A ball of loosely packed snow flew past his head as he did so and he saw Poppy turning to run away, a cheerful smile on her face.

Epel hesitated for a moment, not wanting to actually hit her, but as another snowball hit him square in the face, he chased after her through the snow and flung his own snowball at her. Poppy let out a shriek of surprise and burst out laughing, scooping up another snowball, packing it down tightly, and flinging it at him.

"Come and get me~!" She called out in a sing-song voice, teasing him as she ran, nearly tripping on a mound of snow as she did. Epel ran along behind her, stooping to collect snow to throw at her. Poppy blew him a raspberry and winked. "Haha~ You gotta do better than that!"

It was exactly then that Epel threw a snowball and it hit her square in the face. In her surprise, she lost her balance and toppled over into a deep snow drift. Epel immediately hurried over, worried. "Poppy? Poppy?! Are ya okay? You're not injured, are ya?" He yelled as he approached.

"Yeah, I'm fine!" She responded, her head popping up out of the snow. Epel carefully made his way over so as to not fall in with her and extended his hand. She grabbed it and he heaved her out of the snow. Poppy giggled and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek "My hero." She said with a laugh. Epel felt his face heat up and was sure that it was probably bright red.

Poppy looked at him with concern. "Uh oh. Your face is all red. Maybe we should go back to your home; it'd be a shame if you caught a cold."

Epel was so embarrassed that his entire body felt warm, and he felt himself becoming too hot in his warmth-trapping clothes. "Yeah, let's head on back, then. Ah s'pose my folks are holdin' up dinner for us. Ah'd hate for us to let it get cold."

Poppy nodded in agreeement and she made her way out of the trees, Epel following close behind. Admittedly, he was worried that he'd lose track of her again. As they reached the treeline, Poppy took off running.

"Last one back is a rotten egg!" She shouted, already several feet in front of him. Epel took off after her. "Hey, that wasn't fair at all!" He hollered.

PAONEJSKSNS IT'S WAYYYYY PAST THE DEADLINE BUT YOU SUBMITTED IT BEFORE THAT SO I DID IT AND I'M DONE! I hope despite the shortness of it that you enjoyed!

CM Wedding Fic Challenge

The following are prompts including a wedding or proposal! Reader or OC fics AND Character/Character ships are allowed!

This event is over (Masterlist of Fics here), but you are welcome to use any of these prompts. If you would like to be added to the existing Masterlist of entries, please check out the Rules below!

Open Prompts

There is a wardrobe malfunction the day of the wedding.

Explain why the couple is late to their own wedding.

It's a little unconventional to meet the family at the wedding, but the couple just couldn't wait any longer.

The team finds out about the wedding five minutes before it happens. Possibly less. They've gotta literally run to the courthouse if they're going to make it.

Four members of the team come forward to offer something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.

Everything goes wrong and Character A is convinced that its ruined. Character B reminds them they only need one thing for their wedding to be perfect - each other.

After a crazy night out in Vegas, the couple wakes up with ring pops on their fingers and a certificate that proves the impossible.

Character A catches the bouquet... and tosses it to Character B. Does that count as a proposal?

Character A asks Character B's child's permission to marry their parent.

Character A could not have picked a worse time to propose to Character B.

Always the bridesmaid/groomsmen, never the bride/groom.

Character A falls head over heels for Character B, who is the adult entertainment at their best friend's bachelor(ette) party.

This is a marriage of convenience, but one of them really wants a wedding. They fall in love during the planning.

The couple discusses the moment they realized they wanted to marry one another.

Character A keeps trying to propose at the perfect moment, but keeps getting interrupted.

The team was already suspicous about their "friendship" but really didn't expect them to come back from a long weekend with matching rings.

Character A is very nervous about marriage to Character B because they never really had a positive example as a child.

[Spencer] He has the same dream he had before with Maeve. But this time, when he lifts the veil, he has no doubts.

[Spencer] The team thought he was visiting his mom in Las Vegas, so they weren’t expecting him to come back with a spouse.

The deadline for the secret swap is November 12. The deadline for fics written for the group portion of the event is November 30.

Please let me know by October 28 if you're unable to complete your secret swap request so I can make alternate arrangements.

After the official end of the event, you're free to write as much as you want, but I won't be actively updating this page.

You are only required to write one fic, the one for your secret swap partner, but you can write as many/few fics for the group event as you like. Don't share who you're writing for in the secret swap until you post their gift! :)

Each submission must be a minimum of 250 words with a maximum around 2000 words, but if you go a little over that's fine. (Edit for clarification: Please do not exceed 3000 words.)

Please specify if your submission is for the secret swap or group swap in your post.

Submission must be posted on tumblr with this event blog and the person you're writing for tagged. You're free to post it anywhere else you want, and I've created an AO3 collection! Find it here on my page (user snow_and_moon), "Fic Swap 2023 Collection."

Reminder that it isn't required to write things about others' OCs! I know that can feel overwhelming.

🏳️‍🌈CELEBRATE PRIDE WITH ME🏳️‍🌈

I´m taking pride art requests again this year to honor all members of the LGBTQ+ community!

You can send me a character or a ship of your own choice with one or more pride flags and I´ll draw it.

If you don´t send in a flag with the request I´m going to choose myself.

You can send in the same character/ship/flag as many times as you want, although if the same already has been requested I might not draw it again, but feel free to try your luck anyway!

I´ll take pride requests up until June 30th. Starting from today I´ll be taking the requests, and I´ll begin posting them on June 1st.

All of them must be Tolkien related.

Yes, you can use my art as profil picture or header as long as you credit me and don´t repost it anywhere without my permission - thank you to the people who asked (you can also find this info in my bio or pinned post)

Sometimes I do take requests for people's OCs but not this month, but look out for the next time I open requests and see if I´m open to drawing OCs there, and if unsure just ask me!

EDIT:

As said before I can't promise I'll draw all the pride requests, but I'll do my best. Some of them might get mixed e.g.; if one character is requested in a ship while also being in a request for themself I might just draw the ship, with both flags that were requested of course, unless it was the same or only one of them had a flag request, the same if the same ship is requested multiple times but with different flags I'm probably not going to draw them again, but just change the flag with them for each post.

I´m not necessarily going to choose the oldest requests first, of course I´ll still try to finish those and prioritize them to some degree, but what will work best for me, so if you send in a request late I might still come around it. And as always feel free to send in as many requests as you want!

On a last note, my mental health comes first as this is the month for exams and my grandad, who I spent all my vacations, until this year, and most of my early childhood with is extremely ill and probably won't live to see the month out.

All this means I probably won't be able to finish as many as I did last year, but then I might do the same as I did this Valentine where I finished a few of those I didn´t complete after the month event, in July that would be.
