And the shapes that you drew may change beneath a different light, and everything you thought you knew will fall apart, but you’ll be all right | Nandor the Relentless + Constellations by The Oh Hellos
the thesis of this video can be boiled down to this: Nandor is, fundamentally, a man who is struggling to cope with the realisation that while he has stayed the same for years, the world around him has been changing without his say so. he clings to what he's always known - for example his image as a relentless warrior - and the boxes he's put people in, without realising that these things don't quite fit him anymore. and when he does start to make an active effort to make a change, despite having every good intention, things rarely work out for him because, often, what he's seeking out in new places, he actually already has. all he needs to do is look around himself and see things in a new light to realise it.
(this vid only uses footage from the first 3 seasons btw, you don’t need to be caught up with the latest eps to watch it)

Imagine the awkwardness if in that Mikoto Prank Show ask however, if no one but Es and Jackalope were in on it… And they somehow got everyone’s crimes perfectly right.
LMAO 💀💀💀
Jackalope and Es are in on it, and they don’t even need to guess them -- the machine can be legit! As any good businessmen, they put this newfound life-changing technology to good use: reality TV. They get a hold of 10 random people, planning on editing and splicing the videos to make up some crazy stories about crime and guilt and see how people react. They chose an range of people that might feel guilt over something -- they assume doctors feel bad for losing patients even though they did their best, or policemen regret the people they can't save, or chronically online people feel responsible for things they're connected to -- but that's all.
They get to Haruka’s interrogation and Es comes back to the team going, “hey, did you guys watch the video? Crazy that this guy killed animals, huh.” Then Yuno’s rolls around and they go “shit I never would have thought she was the type for that, now she’s overthinking her abortion…” Then Fuuta. “What are the chances that so many people feel incredibly guilty over someone else’s death? Does everyone feel a secret responsibility for something that happened indirectly?” Then Muu. “Okay that was pretty direct. How did we find these people? Should we contact anyone about this? No? Okay.” Shidou. “?????” By the time they get to Mahiru’s interrogation and she readily admits to murder they’re like “yeah okay, I had a feeling.”
The funniest part is, Mikoto is the team's only hopeful case! From the very beginning, they hear him talking around the prison and everyone breathes a long sigh of relief. “Finally! A normal, not-murdery guy! Our show is saved! We have someone real to prank!” … And then.
(Slightly off-topic but I’ve always wanted to write a comedy normal au in which Es befriends the cast in different areas of their life; Amane is transferred to their school after her incident, Mahiru works in a nearby store, Shidou works at their local clinic, etc.) One by one they get close enough to Es to really trust them, and each confess to being involved with a death that was either indirect or very well covered up. The first few times it’s a beautiful moment of trust and vulnerability, but after like five confessions Es is sitting there like “seriously?? How does this keep happening????”)
i come to you all bearing absolutely no concept except the obvious one, but with a clip (+ 2 screenshots for easy access) (hehe. easy access. sorry.) of sapnap with his arms behind his head

have a question for anyone who will read this post but i have this friend and i’ve known her for a couple of years but one thing i have noticed and feel is that she literally wants to be me and not in a she admires me kind of way but more in a everything that i have and do… she wants to have and do that too. for example, if i have something she literally wants the same or similar thing could be accessories, clothes, etc.
the other day she came over to my house after a long time and she was like ‘can i see your room is it still very clean” which was weird but i was like sure whatever and then after seeing my room she was like “my mum always tells me i should keep my room clean like yours” and i just laughed it off but yeah this is just one example
today she messaged me and was like “when are you free i want to talk about psychology with you” so i replied and asked her if there was something in particular she wanted to know… and omg she said “oh i’m thinking of doing this as a career while also doing medicine” and mind you she always used to say how she didn’t want to study psychology but now she’s thinking of it as a career after i’ve graduated… and idk is that weird or am i just overthinking this??

I really should not try to add 'create video content, a thing I have never done before' to my cicada plans when I've already got a lot of other stuff to keep track of but I do kinda want to on account of I do wanna try eating some and I'm really annoyed that almost everything I could find about doing that is framed as 'WOOOAAHH EEEUUUGH you can EAT?? these HUGE DISGUSTING BUGS???? watch me EAT some BUGS OOOAAHHHH' like okay I get it we live in the culture we live in but there's really not even one video on this from the perspective of approaching entomophagy in the spirit of sincere openness and curiosity??
im thinking abt these scenes again and i really dont get it... its obvious ketil's not supposed to be liked at this point, and even less so later, but just seeing him here makes me remember snake just before. a disgusting looking ketil rolls out of a barrel as a gag, he pathetically stumbles out, almost looking drunk, while no one seems to positively regard him, and he is asking for his slave woman that could be his daughter's age who just had her husband murdered. you're very much not supposed to like him at all compared to his kind master introduction, but i look at snake and he just so plainly is not depicted in the same way. snake looks fired up, like he has an undeniable point, saying something you'd agree with out of context, and this doesn't look like a scene where a villain is spouting brainwashed, hypocritical, or biased logic, esp w the reaction of who he's speaking to
snake is fighting for his right to punish an escaped slave, and every person around him is resisting bc gardar's crime was escaping and resisting arrest to be enslaved again and further punished. thorfinn physically fights after agonizing abt violence, arnheid pleads, and sverkel attempts to bargain for this man, so they clearly all disagree with what snake's doing, but they are quiet as if he has a point, when they shouldn't be when they have the context for the situation and therefore are all trying so hard. they don't look like they're quiet in submission, they werent born slaves or currently internalize the thought that they're property, that snake is right and theyre wrong, esp w thorfinn's wish to eliminate slavery and war. snake's depiction in this arc is just very strange because you cant say gardar's life is worth more than any other man, or however many he kills, but the story acts as if the people killed didnt all fight to dehumanize this man that just wanted to leave, you dont see gardar making this declaration. its just very strange ketil's clearly depicted in a poor light, but snake misses all of that same tone, is even shown to have a point, and then also im pretty sure is shown as heroic in the next part as if everything he did before didn't happen??
before, i get askeladd being a very likable character (and i disagree w that approach considering how easy it is to forget he is a piece of shit, ive seen ppl think his whole life hes been scheming to get a Good man on the throne) because the prologue basically centers around just the vikings, who arent the most moral, but snake here seems to be as self aware as askeladd, but without any guilt, and is shown like he has a point..? its just very weird to me... how are we saying slavery Bad, but apparently snake has a point when he is... fighting to keep a man enslaved..? its not even like its the only job in the world or he's being forced to or something, theres no reason for him to be fighting so hard to be a cop
