I have THOUGHTS, man. (Captain Laserhawk spoilers, Laserfrog propaganda/lh)
Can we talk about why Laserhawk decided to go save Bullfrog
I mean of course he would you don't just leave him to die, he's obviously the crew/fan favorite, but let's think about it narratively. Why does Laserhawk want to save Bullfrog?
I feel like the reason is that during the whole VR thing where he was with Alex, and they talked about Bullfrog. Alex said that Bullfrog needed Laserhawk.
But honestly? I think it's a two way street. Laserhawk needs him just as much as Bullfrog needs him. And he realized it at that moment, in the arms of his former lover.
....I want you to think about that. Laserhawk was with Alex, but then the discussion went to Bullfrog quite...quickly. The way he talks about Bullfrog, he seemed really fond of him (The most ridiculous assassin I've ever met in my entire life...also the kindest.") Laserhawk realized Bullfrog was right about vengeance, yes. But there was also an internal realization within him that I dont think was said aloud (except by Alex with the whole "maybe he needs you" if you wanna count that) but is very apparent if you think about it.
We see how much Bullfrog CARES about the people around him, and it's most clear when he tries to get Laserhawk not to make rash decisions in the name of revenge. Usually, Laserhawk never heard him out but at that moment he realized that Bullfrog knew exactly how he was feeling and wanted to help.
Basically, he realized that there was someone out there who cared about him, who truly wanted the best for him and wanted to help him.
There, talking to a fake version of his toxic exe, who time after time made him feel as though he was worthless, a means to an end, he realized he was loved by someone.
And maybe, just maybe...he realized that he loved him back.
IDK maybe I'm just being sappy, but the look of determination that Laserhawk has at the end of Episode 5/Episode 6, it's like he KNOWS what he wanted at that moment. He wanted to see Bullfrog again, he wanted to save him. He wanted to prove to Bullfrog that he listened (finally). He was willing to go to hell and back in order to find him. He finally had someone worth fighting for.
And I think that matters a lot.

Humans are mini-universal beings
I think this is my 4th entry to Humans Are Space Orcs. And gets sorta terrifying with this recent realization plus the small clip I saw on TikTok.
I've previously stated that writers are creators of worlds, right? Meanwhile, visual artists take de-structured ideas from the writers to create drawings, buildings, sceneries, or moments to give us an image of the world that the writers are giving life.
Now, color me surprise when I got to see this random video on TikTok which depicted how we ourselves are small walking universe. Check the following pictures and compare them, yes?
Placenta after birth = the tree of life depicted in mythology (and seeing as giving birth literally means growing a fetus (later on into an infant) inside of you, it doesn't seem so far off now. Turn that placenta around and you're faced with the cotyledons. These things look like bunched up leaves on top of trees.
Human lungs and alveoli = if you skip the gory look of the actual organ and just see it in a picture, you'd find that it seems like bunched up flower buds.
Human arteries, veins, and capillaries = now, Earth has its river network and streams, yes? Places with high salt content and none at all? That's the same way with our arteries if you replace the salt analogy with non-oxygenated blood and oxygenated blood flowing in and out of the heart to cycle back... like how evaporated water turns to rain lol...
Human eyes = they look like some galaxy formations. One eye holds different flecks or palette of color, almost like how colorful galaxies could get.
Human mitosis = a human's cell creation is a galaxies' version of collapse. They usually go backwards to our own version to crash into each other. Ours are more of a cell division. But if we think of it's creation where electrons supposedly combine with each other to create another galaxy, then perhaps the idea isn't that farfetched.
And have you seen mountain structures that look like giants? What do we have as explanation for those?
Imagine the conversation after an alien reads through our anatomy books. One of them looks at you, face either drained of blood, deadpan, or panicking (again... at this point the United Intergalactic Council is on speed dial).
Alien: You're telling me that you are miniscule galaxies... like YOU are a microscopic galaxy that's being kept in form and human shaped by bones and fragile skin?
Human: I won't say that it's fragile. Some of us develop calluses on some of our skin which means they can thicken (forgetting to mention they only happen on specific areas).
Alien: You thicken your skin?!
Human: *snickers* Some have even thick faces (this alien doesn't know our numerous metaphors).
Alien: You can develop armor on your head?!!
Human: I think we got lost track with the anatomy book... what did you mean when you said we were walking galaxies?
Alien: You are! You have depicted everything in this book!
Human: That's just my book for beginners though...
Alien: You have more evidence that you host life inside of you and are capable of producing more?!
Human: ...yes? (thinking of babies, intestinal parasites, bacteria, and lice)
Alien: OH GREAT MOTHER OF STARS!!!! WHAT IS WITH YOU TERRANS AND BEING SO FRUSTRATINGLY DIFFERENT?!? What are you going to show me next?! That you eat Chlcusgyt for food?!
Human: *whispers to self* Those are like... our version of octopus and squids, right? We're not allowed to eat those? They're so tasty though?
Alien: *hears the whisper due to their biologically natural hearing to get away from predators* Oh, stars you are NOT joking with that!
The terrified alien calls the UIC to tell them how Terrans apparently eat one of Space's greatest hunters for dinner. That day, we earned another reason why other intergalactic sentient species should not mess with the Deathworld of Terran.

since there's no official arts of elio yet, i love the idea that elio is this frail small man who looks sickly, the kind that made people feel sorry for him. people who see him just goes, "what a poor thing" and move on with their life. i want him to be a meek man, but has the stubbornness of a cult leader with his belief(he's kind of a cult leader)
the most accurate visual representation i can give you is Seer from Identity V, specifically the Lunar Phase skin. (yes i want elio to have a strip of cloth over his eyes too)

oh, yeah, another thing i noticed that was odd about s5 in comparison to earlier seasons was how much they relied on like. not the history of the doctor, exactly, but the image of that history. whether from little easter eggs of the first doctor’s picture popping up everywhere to i think the two(?) times in the season we get a montage of past doctors. and i honestly can’t remember anything like that happening earlier (with the exception of the time crash short, which felt more substantial to me and was also like. 7 straight minutes of david tennant being allowed to fangirl.)
and i say ‘the image’ because hell knows the RTD era was pulling from doctor who past left, right, and center, but it rarely felt like a moment of ‘look at this old thing, you remember old thing? old thing was cool and so are we for continuing it.’ and more like ‘here’s a species/character/etc from classic who. and here’s how they’ve changed and fit into the new world we’ve built for the show.’
I guess, the difference here for me is that. i haven’t watched classic who. s5 shows me a slideshow of doctors and to me, those are the guys i once ranked by how sexy i think they are. and not much else. i don’t have an emotional connection to an image. but take, say, school reunion? an episode that was my favorite even back when i was a kid specifically because i adored sarah jane? i had no idea who she was then, i only just figured out a little bit ago which doctor she traveled with, and exclusively all i’ve watched of her is that episode in s2 and the sarah jane adventures. and yet, that episode, without the context there for me, managed to make sense to me. i’m sure it was probably even more impactful to fans of sarah jane from classic who, but it didn’t lose its impact without that knowledge.
so, that’s a shift. i don’t want to say it’s a negative one, exactly, because maybe people who have seen classic who like these references and i’m missing something. but, to me, it feels a little more shallow.

Another one of my thoughts abt Bullfrog but this one is just me looking at shit and assuming/lh
Judging by how Bullfrog is positioned in posters like the main one where's he's floating above everyone or the Drop 01 poster where he's included with Laserhawk (Aka the main protagonist), and the focus he's getting in videos like that one YouTube short/tiktok and his shots in the trailers electric chair included I'd say Bullfrog is shaping up to be a more important character to the story than meets the eye.
Hell, he even got his OWN poster for Drop 01
What his importance to the plot is...I haven't the slightest clue other than what we already know, but DAMN if I don't have ideas.
For example, he could be seen as a character foil to Laserhawk, but that's a whole other can of worms. There's also the fact that of all the characters, HE'S the one that ends up captured by Rayman.
I love this frog so fucking much man, I hope I'm on the right track with this-
