Alien crew: *busy with work*
Human crew member: *bursts in, visibly shaking* Did you guys know that humans can overdose on caffeine, around 40 cups of coffee? My record is 14 cups!
Alien: And what are you on now?
Human: 11 cups! I'm gonna break my record today!
Alien: *takes mug from their hands* No, you're not

Humans are average at everything
And that makes other species crazy
"You swim well for your limb configuration but you will never be as fast in water as a Majoriranji."
Mo agreed with a nod. "They have fins, it's an unfair contest really."
"Nacbaqurs climb cliffs better than humans."
"Longer limbs, more fingers, that's no surprise. I know some elite climbers who could keep up but mostly ture enough."
"Chexits run much faster."
"Ah," Mo raised a finger. "They run on four legs, different configuration, unfair comparison. "
"My point is still valid. And you don't fly either."
"Mmm, no," Mo stopped to consider that one. "I don't think we have a winged ancestor. I have been sky diving, though, so I'm sure we missed out there."
"Sky diving? No, I have no wish to know. My question is this, why are you so feared? You cannot swim like a Majoriranji, or climb like a Nacbaqur, or run like a Chexit. Can you do anything special? Why should anyone be scared of humans?"
"Is that why you captured us? That's what you want to know?" Mo smiled as he leaned back in his chair. He had been afraid. Now he was amused.
He knew rescue was on the way. Just before the invaders managed to grab him and the other researchers, they were able to send a distress call. The Earth Alliance took attacks on their people seriously, they knew swift responses discouraged casual piracy.
"Okay, you'll probably be dead soon anyway so I'll give you a freebie. We're not the fastest swimmers, but most of us can swim and dive, and we can all hold our breath. We're not the fastest climbers, but our ancestors lived in trees, tall canopy plants, we can all climb. We're not the fastest runners, but we're not bad in a sprint, and we'll still be going hours after your fancy fast runners have collapsed and died of exhaustion. We don't have to be the best at one thing when we can be pretty good at just about everything."

Scary Stories in Space
If you’ve ever wanted to experience the rapt attention of bodybuilder-shaped swamp monster/goldfish crosses, who are equal parts muscles, fins, and floaty silk clothes with absolutely zero interest in blinking, then I can’t speak highly enough of telling ghosts stories to a pair of Frillians.
That hadn’t been the plan; it just came up in conversation while we tidied the storage hold. Our ship was going to take on a lot of cargo soon. There were things on the floor that needing picking up, which was boring, so we passed the time with stories.
As it turns out, Frillians love ghost stories.
“Then what happened??” asked Blip when I paused for effect. She’d frozen in place holding a wrench and a heat sensor, wide-eyed in a cloud of fluttering silks and fins, all electric blue and bright red and deeply invested in my story. Her brother Blop was her mirror in aqua and lavender.
“Then,” I said, picking up a crowbar, “When he went to let her out of the car, he found a hook on the door handle!” I caught the crowbar on my hand dramatically.
“Ohhh!” they chorused with a gratifying flinch, for all the world like frat bros watching someone get hit in the nuts. “Near miss! Oh, wow!”
I grinned and put the crowbar in a cabinet while they rehashed the very simple story to each other. I’d already told them a few others, and I was going to run out of stories before they ran out of enthusiasm.
Blip asked, “What do you think they did when they found that?”
With a shudder like a bird fluffing feathers, Blop suggested, “Throw it as far away as possible? Run into the house?”
Blip nodded, fins still flared slightly. “Maybe both. Then call the authorities.”
I walked past to collect a stray cable. “I don’t know about the authorities where you’re from, but mine wouldn’t have been much help.”
The twins discussed this some more, then agreed that the best response would be to run screaming into the house and lock every door they could find. Only then did they remember that they were supposed to be cleaning, and resume putting stuff away.
After three seconds of silence, Blop asked, “Know any more?”
“Maybe,” I said. “Lemme think.” I shelved a box and looked around the room for inspiration. No ghosts hid in this storage hold, though it had been home to many an animal cargo. The reinforced clear pen was still empty, and had been for a while — our cargos were mostly boxes these days. The door to the hallway stood open, and I almost had a thought about some doorway-based haunting, but couldn’t pin it down. I moved to stack a few stale tubs of animal food while I thought.
Then my cat Telly walked in, recently free to roam the ship on a provisional basis, and I had an idea. The fact that Telly had made a beeline for Blip’s spare overcoat helped. She burrowed right under, sniffing out the shrimp sticks that were undoubtedly hidden in several pockets.
Neither Frillian noticed.
“There was one story,” I said, watching them both perk up like meerkats. Fishy, musclebound meerkats. “The legend of the Pants With Nobody Inside Them.”
“Pants With Nobody Inside Them?” they dutifully asked.
I tugged at my own pant leg. “People where I’m from wear a lot of clothes that are shaped to fit our bodies, and have the same silhouette when they’re empty. Just imagine how creepy and unsettling it must have been for the first person to venture into a dark forest at night, and see the shape of another human — but only the bottom half. Walking … steadily … towards them.” I took slow and deliberate strides toward the far side of the animal pen, drawing their gaze away from the shrimp stick excavation.
“That sounds terrifying,” Blip declared. “Did they run?”
“Oh, you bet they did!” I said, jogging slowly in place, then speeding up. “But the pants ran after.”
Blop squeaked in fear, muscly arms bent to bring his hands to his mouth.
They had no idea how hard I was working not to laugh. “That first person got away, and so did the next. But it kept happening, and the pants got faster each time. People started to worry about going outside, and wonder about their own clothes — they’d look at a pair of pants on the floor, and imagine it starting to get up on its own. Then OH JEEZ WHAT’S THAT?!” I pointed through the clear walls of the pen.
Both Frillians whirled and screamed at the sight of — as promised — an item of clothing moving around.
Telly bolted in panic, with one shrimp stick in her mouth and several others scattering in all directions. I heard someone down the hall yelp, though it was hard to make out over the Frillians screaming.
“WHAT WAS THAT?”
“WAS THAT AN ANIMAL?”
“WAIT, THAT WAS YOUR ANIMAL, WASN’T IT?”
“WHAT WAS IT DOING IN MY COAT??”
I leaned against a wall, laughing. I couldn’t hold it back any more. “Stealing your shrimp sticks,” I managed. “Sorry.”
After a little more yelling and hyperventilating, during which three other crew members came to see what the emergency was, they finally calmed down. The rest of the crew was waved away.
“So,” Blip said, clearly determined to speak evenly, “How does the story end?”
I was still grinning. “Somebody makes friends with the pants. They were chasing after people because they were lonely.”
“What!” Blip exclaimed, fins spread and eyes wide, which just made me burst into laughter again. Blop echoed her.
“It’s a children’s story,” I explained. “I think the pants wanted to dance with other people. Or they wanted someone to wear them; I honestly don’t remember the details. But they were lonely.”
Blop shook his head. “Lonely haunted clothing,” he said. “Your planet sure has some memorable ones.”
Blip picked up her coat at arm’s length, and I couldn’t tell if she was looking for damage or ghosts. “Maybe it was hungry,” she suggested.
“I’m sure many ghosts like shrimp sticks,” I said, picking one up from the floor. “I’ll bet we could think up a new story about that. Maybe they’re haunted by the ghosts of the shrimp, mad about being eaten?”
Their dismayed expressions told me that such a story might ruin their favorite snack for them.
“Or,” I said, turning on my heel, “We could think up a story about a haunted… stun gun! Maybe it keeps a ghostly copy of all the people it’s stunned. How do you think a story like that would work?”
To my delight, Blip and Blop proved just as interested in composing new stories as listening to old ones. The rest of the tidying session passed quickly.
I take no responsibility for the nightmares they inflicted on the rest of the crew.

The ongoing backstory adventures of the main character from this book. More to come!

All of these would be queer btw, because I'm queer
Oh also the "(other)" option is basically just me asking for writing prompts if you don't like the ones I proposed, and the "(These all suck)" is basically just the "(I just wanna see the results)" option lol
(btw the second one was meant to say "monsterfucker human" singular not plural)

I haven't done anything with it for a while but I still love humans are space orcs fiction. The concept appeals to me. In a lot of sci-fi fiction, aliens tend to be stronger, faster, better than humans. Sometimes it's to give the humans a challenge to overcome, sometimes it's just life. Maybe it says something about how a lot of us feel small and helpless right now, how we want a power fantasy where we're the heroes, where we save the universe, where we, in all our diversity, are changing things, for good or bad.
Anyway I woke up today to a fading dream and a burning need to write space orcs style humans vs an alien like Frieza from Dragonball Z. I know nothing about this character and DBZ other than scattered memories of watching the show on toonami and various memes I run into on my dash. I wouldn't want to write a fanfic crossover anyway. If I did this this character would be just inspired by him, I guess...
If I did this, I don't know if I will. Lordy knows how much else I have on my plate. But I'm gonna be thinking about this for a while...

Writing prompt:
You are an immortal being trapped within a technologically advanced prison. What exactly you did to end up there is unclear, as while your body remains untouched by time, your memory is significantly less impervious. Over the eons, your prison begins to decay around you. One day, your bonds at last give out.
You fall to the floor…

I saw an anti-HASO post complaining about the genre and how humans actually suck. And wow, don't you have anything better to do than shit on something people enjoy? Especially in their tags. HASO hasn't hurt anyone. If one story is racist or whatever thats one author in a genre built online by tons of small just-want-to-have-fun writers, attack that one story. But nah, "HASO is bad because humans are bad or whatever. So let me shit on otjer people's enjoyment" Why are people so miserable?

Restoring the Tower of Babel - The CEO's Perspective on Health Information Exchanges
Defining a Health Information Exchange The United States is dealing with the largest shortage regarding healthcare practitioners within our country's historical past which is compounded by an ever increasing geriatric populace. In 2005 presently there existed one geriatrician for every 5, 000 US residents over 65 and only nine of the particular 145 medical colleges trained geriatricians. By simply 2020 the business is estimated to be able to be short 2 hundred, 000 physicians and also a million rns. Never, in the history of PEOPLE healthcare, haso significantly been demanded with the few personnel. Due to thishortage combined with the geriatric inhabitants increase, the clinical community must locate a way to be able to provide timely, accurate information to prospects that need it in a uniform fashion. Think about if flight controllerspoke the native language of their nation instead of the current intercontinental flight language, Uk. This example records the urgency and critical nature regarding our dependence on standard communication in healthcare. A healthy info exchange can assist improve safety, lessen duration of hospital remains, cut down on medication mistakes, reduce redundancies throughout lab testing or perhaps procedures and help make the health technique faster, leaner and even more productive. The ageing US population together with those influenced by chronic condition like diabetes, cardiovascular disease and asthma will likely need to see more professionals who will include to discover a way to be able to communicate with primary care providers properly and efficiently. This kind of efficiency can simply be attained by simply standardizing the method in which the particular communication takes spot. Healthbridge, a Cincinnati oh. based HIE and one of typically the largest community based networks, was able to reduce their particular potential disease breakouts from 5 to 8 days down in order to 48 hours together with a regional health and fitness information exchange. Concerning standardization, one writer noted, "Interoperability with out standards is like language without syntax. In the cases connection is possible but the process is troublesome and often useless. " United Claims retailers transitioned above twenty years ago within order to mechanize inventory, sales, sales controls which all improve efficiency in addition to effectiveness. While uneasy to think of patients as inventory, perhaps it had been portion of the purpose for having less change in the main care setting to be able to automation of person records and data. Imagine a Mother & Pop store on any rectangle in mid The united states packed with products on shelves, buying duplicate widgets based on lack of info regarding current products. Visualize any Home Depot or Lowes and you get yourself a glimpse of exactly how automation has improved the retail industry in terms involving scalability and productivity. Perhaps the "art involving medicine" is a barrier to considerably more productive, efficient and even smarter medicine. Standards in information swap have existed considering that 1989, but current interfaces have evolved more rapidly kudos to increases in standardization of territorial and state wellness information exchanges. Great Health Information Deals Major urban facilities in Canada and Down under were the first of all to successfully implement HIE's. The success of these earlier networks was linked to an the usage with primary attention EHR systems previously in place. Well being Level 7 (HL7) represents the primary health language standardization system in the United States, starting with a gathering at the University involving Pennsylvania in 1987. HL7 has been successful in switching antiquated interactions such as faxing, mail and direct provider communication, which often represent duplication and inefficiency. Process interoperability raises human understanding across networks health systems to integrate and even communicate. Standardization will ultimately impact exactly how effective that communication functions in the same way that grammar standards advance better communication. The United States National Health Details Network (NHIN) units the standards that advance this delivery of communication between health and fitness networks. HL7 is definitely now on is actually third version which often was published in 2004. The goals associated with HL7 are to be able to increase interoperability, develop coherent standards, inform the industry on standardization and collaborate together with other sanctioning bodies like ANSI plus ISO which are also concerned with process improvement. In typically the United States among the earliest HIE'started found in Portland Maine. HealthInfoNet is a public-private partnership and is definitely believed to always be the greatest statewide HIÉRARCHISER. The goals associated with the network will be to improve patient safety, enhance the particular quality of medical care, increase productivity, reduce service duplication, identify public threats quicker and increase patient record accessibility. The four beginning groups the Maine Health Access Basis, Maine CDC, The Maine Quality Community forum and Maine Health Information Center (Onpoint Health Data) began their efforts within 2004. In Tennessee Regional Health Data Organizations (RHIO's) begun in Memphis and the Tri Towns region. Carespark, a 501(3)c, inside the Three Cities region seemed to be considered a direct task where clinicians have interaction directly with one another using Carespark's HL7 up to date system as an intermediary to translate the particular data bi-directionally. Experts Affairs (VA) clinics also played an important role in typically the early stages to build this network. Within the delta the midsouth eHealth Alliance can be a RHIO connecting Memphis hospitals like Baptist Memorial (5 sites), Methodist Systems, Lebonheur Healthcare, Memphis Kids Clinic, St. Francis Health System, Street Jude, The Regional Medical Center and UT Medical. These types of regional networks enable practitioners to share medical records, lab values medicines and other reports towards a more efficient manner. Over seventeen US communities are actually designated as Beacon Communities across the particular Usa based in their progress HIE's. These communities' health focus varies dependent on the sufferer population and frequency of chronic condition states i. at the. cvd, diabetes, bronchial asthma. The communities emphasis on specific and even measurable improvements throughout quality, safety and even efficiency because of health information exchange advancements. The closest physical Beacon community to be able to Tennessee, in Byhalia, Mississippi, just south of Memphis, has been granted a hundred buck, 000 grant by the department of Into the Human Services inside September 2011. A healthcare model regarding Nashville to copy is located throughout Indianapolis, IN structured on geographic closeness, city size plus population demographics. A number of Beacon awards have been granted to areas in and all-around Indianapolis, Into the Hospital Corporation of Marion County, Indiana Health and fitness Centers Inc, Raphael Health Center and even Shalom Health Care Middle Inc. In addition , Indiana Health Information Technological innovation Inc has received over 23 thousand dollars in grants through the State HIÉRARCHISER Cooperative Agreement and even 2011 HIE Obstacle Grant Supplement plans from the federal authorities. These awards had been based on the following criteria: 1) Achieving health goals through health information exchange 2) Enhancing long term and post acute treatment transitions 3) Buyer mediated information trade 4) Enabling enhanced query for affected person care 5) Cultivating distributed population-level analytics. Regulatory Aspects associated with Information about health Exchanges plus Healthcare Reform The particular department of Well being and Human Providers (HHS) is the regulating agency that oversees health concerns for those Americans. The HHS is divided in to ten regions plus Tennessee is component of Region 4 headquartered away from Atlanta. The Regional Representative, Anton J. Gunn is the initial African American elected to serve because regional director and brings loads of knowledge to his function based on the public service particularly regarding underserved health care patients and information about health exchanges. This encounter will serve your pet well as they encountersocietal and market challenges for underserved and chronically sick patients throughout typically the southeast area. The National Information about health System (NHIN) is a split of HHS that will guides the ideals of exchange and governs regulatory features of health change. The NHIN collaboration includes departments love the Center intended for Disease Control (CDC), social security administration, Beacon communities in addition to state HIE's (ONC). 11 The Office of National Coordinator for Health Info Exchange (ONC) provides awarded $16 million in additional funds to encourage creativity at the state level. Innovation in the state level can ultimately lead to be able to better patient attention through reductions in replicated tests, links to care courses for chronic patients leading to continuity and even finally timely open public health alerts via agencies like the particular CDC based in this information. twelve The Health Data Technology for Financial and Clinical Wellness (HITECH) Act is usually funded by bucks from the United states Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009. HITECH's goals are to invest dollars found in community, regional and even state health information exchanges to create effective networks which usually are connected country wide. Beacon communities along with the Statewide Health Details Exchange Cooperative Arrangement were initiated through HITECH and ARRA. Up to now 56 declares have received grant prizes through these programs totaling 548 thousand dollars. History involving Health Information Relationship TN (HIPTN) Inside of Tennessee the Health and fitness Information Exchange features been slower in order to progress than parts like Maine and even Indiana based throughout part on the particular diversity of the condition. The delta has a vastly distinct patient population and even health network than that of middle Tennessee, which differs from eastern Tennessee's Appalachian region. On August of this year the first methods were taken in order to build a statewide HIE that includes a non-profit known as HIP TN. A board was founded at this time period with an operations council formed in Dec. HIP TN's first initiatives involved hooking up the work through Carespark in northeast Tennessee's tri-cities region to the Midsouth ehealth Alliance throughout Memphis. State officers estimated a price of over two hundred million dollars through 2010-2015. The opportunity involvestakeholders from health-related, technical, legal and business backgrounds. The particular governor in 2010, Phil Bredesen, provided fifteen million to fit federal funds as well as providing an Executive Purchase establishing the office associated with eHealth initiatives with oversight by the Workplace of Administration in addition to Finance and 14 board members. By March 2010 four workgroups were founded to focus on the subject of areas like technology, clinical, privacy and even security and durability. By May of 2010 data discussing agreements were found in place along with a generation pilot for your statewide HIE was started in June 2012 along with an Ask for Proposal (RFP) which often wasent out to be able to over forty sellers. In July the year 2010 a fifth workgroup, the buyer advisory class, was added in addition to in September 2010 Tennessee was notified that they were one of the first states to have their plans permitted after a discharge of Program Data Notice (PIN). Over fifty stakeholders came together to judge typically the vendor demonstrations plus a contract wasigned with the chosen vendor Axolotl on September 30th, 2010. At that will time a production goal of July 15th, 2011 has been agreed upon as well as in January 2011 Keith Cox was chosen as HIP TN's CEO. Keith delivers twenty six yrs of tenure inside of healthcare IT to be able to the collaborative. Their previous endeavors contain Microsoft, Bellsouth and several entrepreneurial efforts. STYLISH TN's mission is always to improve access to be able to information about health through a new statewide collaborative method and provide the infrastructure for safety measures in that exchange. The vision for HIP TN is usually to be named a state and even national leader which support measurable improvements in clinical quality and efficiency to be able to patients, providers and even payors with secure HIE. Robert H. Gordon, the panel chair for HIPTN states the eyesight well, "We present the view that although technology is a critical tool, the principal focus is not technology itself, but increasing health". HIP TN is a low profit, 501(c)3, that will isolely reliant upon state government funding. That is a mix of centralized and decentralized structure. The key suppliers are Axolotl, which often acts as the umbrella network, ICA for Memphis plus Nashville, with SPECIAL as being the vendor in northeast Tennessee. 12-15 Future HIP TN goals include a gateway for the Countrywide Health Institute planned for late 2011 and a specialist index in early 2012. Carespark, one of the original regional health exchange networks voted in order to cease operations in July 11, last year based on lack of financial support intended for it's new system. The data revealing agreements included 35 health organizations, nine communities and two hundred fifty volunteers. 16 Carespark's closure clarifies the requirement to build a network which is not solely dependent on public grants to fund it's work, which we will discuss inside the ultimate section of this particular paper. Current Position of Healthcare Information Exchange and HIPTN Ten grants had been awarded in 2011 by the HIE test grant supplement. These kinds of included initiatives throughout eight states in addition to serve as communities we can look for with regard to guidance as HIP TN evolves. Because previously mentioned the most awarded communities lies less than 5 hours away within Indianapolis, IN. Based on the parallels in our health and fitness communities, patient foule and demographics, Bring on gives an outstanding mentor for Nashville and the clinic systems who serve patients in TN. The Indiana Information about health Exchange has recently been recognized nationally regarding it's Docs for Docs program and the way effort has taken location since it's getting pregnant 7 years ago. Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of HHS commented, "The Core Indiana Beacon Community provides a level regarding collaboration plus the capacity to organize good quality efforts in the effective manner from its great creating long standing interactions. We are delighted to get working along with a community that is certainly far ahead inside the use of well being information to create beneficial change to person care. " Beacon communities that could work as guides intended for our community contain the Health and Hospital Corporation associated with Marion County plus the Indiana Health and fitness Centers based upon their own recent awards associated with $100, 000 each by HHS. The local model regarding excellence in practice EMR conversion is usually Old Harding Pediatric Associates (OHPA) which usually has two centers and fourteen medical doctors who handle the patient population of twenty-three, 000 and above 72, 000 sufferer encounters per season. OHPA's conversion in order to electronic records within early 2000 took place as an outcome of the pursuit of excellence in individual care and typically the want to use technological innovation in a way that benefitted their very own patient population. OHPA established a get across functional work staff to boost their procedures in the areas of facilities, personnel, conversation, technology and exterior influences. Noteworthy was chosen as the EMR vendor according to user friendliness and the particular similarity to some sort of standard patient data with tabs with regard to files. The program was custom-made to the pediatric environment filled with patient expansion charts. Windows was initially used as being the functioning system based upon provider familiarity. Inside four days OHPA had 100% conformity and use involving their EMR program. The Future regarding HIP TN and HIE in Tennessee Tennessee has received close to twelve million dollars inside of grant money through The State Health and fitness Information Exchange Supportive Agreement Program. twenty Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIO) want to be total scalable to let hospitals to expand their systems with out compromising integrity as they grow. 21and the systems found in Nashville will enjoy an integral role inside of this nationwide climbing with companies like HCA, CHS, Iasis, Lifepoint and Vanguard. more info might act as an information repository for most patients information that can be reached from anywhere and contains a full background of the people medical record, lab tests, physician network and medicine record. To entice services to enroll inside of the statewide HIE tangible value to their practice needs to be shown with far better safer care. In a 2011 HIMSS editor's report Richard Lang states that rather than top down method "A more practical idea may end up being for states to be able to support neighborhood HIÉMAL development first. Once established, these area networks can nourish regional HIE's and then connect to a central HIE/data repository backbone. Stateshould work with a portion regarding the stimulus finances to support area HIE development. "22 Mr. Lang likewise believes the major care physician provides to be the building blocks for the entire system because they are typically the main point of contact for the particular patient. One part of the problem often overlooked is the patient investment in a functional EHR. As a way to bring together most the items of the HIE puzzle patients will need to play a a lot more active role found in their healthcare. Many patients do not really know what drugs they take every day or whether that they possess a living can. Several versions of patient EHR's love Memitech's 911medical id card exist, yet very few patients recognize or carry them. 23 One method to combat absence of awareness is to try using the hospital as a catch-all and discharge each sufferer with a fully loaded USB greeting card via case professionals. Thistrategy also might result in better compliance with post in patient therapies in order to reduce readmissions. The implementation of hooking up qualified organizations began earlier this 12 months. To completely support agencies to advance toward degree the Office of National Coordinator for HIE (ONC) has selected regional education facilities (TN rec) which assist providers along with educational initiatives throughout areas like REACH, ICD9 to ICD10 training and EMR transition. Qsource, a non-profit health talking to firm, has already been chosen to supervise TNrec. To assure sustainability it is critical that Tennessee build a network of private funding as a result that so what happened with Carespark won't occur to HIP TN. The eHealth Projects 2011Survey Report areas that of the 196 HIE pursuits, 115 act on their own of federal capital along with those 3rd party HIE's, break actually through operational revenue. Some of these exchanges were inside existence prior to the American Recovery plus Reinvestment Act inside 2009. Startup financing from grants is just meant to get the car going so to speak, the sustainable energy, as observed in the case associated with Carespark, has to be able to come from value that can become monetized. KLAS exploration reports that 54% of public HIE's were concerned concerning future sustainability although only 35% of private HIE'shared this particular concern. Hospital Implications of HIP TN (A Call in order to Action) From the Financial perspective, using our hospital straight into the future along with EMR and a built-in statewide network provides profound implications. For the short term the cost in order to find a supplier, establish EMR in and outpatient will probably be an expensive idea. The transition will certainly not be simple or finite and may involve constant progression as HIP TN integrates with other state HIE's. In order to get a reasonable idea of the benefits and fees associated with health and fitness information integration. we all can look in order to HealthInfoNet in Portland, ME, a statewide HIE that expects to save 37 , 000, 000 dollars in avoided services and fifteen million in efficiency reduction. Specific locations of savings contain paper or fernkopie costs $5 vs $0. 25 digitally, virtual health record savings of 50 bucks per referral, $26 saved per IMPOTENCE visit and $17. 41 per patient/year due to redundant lab tests which usually amounts to $52 million for a population of 3 thousand patients. In Large Junction Colorado Quality Health Network lowered their per household Medicare spending in order to 24% under the national average, gaining recognition by President Obama in 2009. The Santa Cruz Health Information Exchange (SCHIE) together with 600 doctors in addition to two hospitals attained sustainability in the first year involving operation and makes use of a subscription payment for all the particular organizations who communicate with them. Inside terms of authorities dollars available, meaningful use incentives can be found to encourage private hospitals to satisfy twenty involving 25 objectives within the first stage (2011-2012) and implementing and implement a good approved EHR merchant. ARRA specified 3 ways for EHR to be applied to obtain Treatment reimbursement. Such as e-prescribing, health information exchange and submission of clinical quality steps. The objectives with regard to phase two throughout 2013 will grow on this baseline. Implementation of EHR and Hospital HIÉMAUX costs are usually charged by mattress or from the amount of physicians. Charges can range through $1500 for a smaller hospital up to $12, 1000 per month regarding a larger hospital. Perhaps the most compelling argument to building a functional Health Information Exchange will be patient and local community safety. The Healthbridge reduction in disease episode detection of 3-5 days is a new perfect example involving thisafety benefit. Picture the implications on the case regarding a rampant disease like avian or perhaps swine flu. The goal is always to steer clear of a repeat regarding the 1918 autorevolezza outbreak and ultimately save the lifestyles of our many in danger. Rick Krohn of Healthsense can make the advantages of a socially responsible HIÉMAUX that serves these who are forever ill, uninsured plus homeless. As the particular taxpayers ultimately keep the societal stress for our nation's healthcare coverage, the need to reduce redundancies, raise efficiency and give healthcare worthy associated with the United Claims is imperative. Proper now our healthcare is in the particular Critical Care Unit it's time to be able to stabilize it by means of operational excellence starting up with our clinic. Let's rebuild the particular Tower of Confusion and enhance connection to provide our own patients the health care they deserve! [http://healthewait.com]

This is mostly just soft world-building and a writing exercise (not that I’m much of a writer? But alas, what else to call this). But very HASO, so figured I’d share [:
________________________________________
There were plenty of reasons it was assumed, by the general community if not officially, that a sentient predator species would never reach space. Several scientific minds argued that sentience was not possible in predators at all, though this is generally an idea rooted in ⧭ปΦ∸яism and has some troubling connotations, especially for species with scavenger roots like the Tumªolut and the Kkaრ೮ಊs. But in general, it was considered at best an improbability. Any erudite or academically minded individual could give you a reason. Predator species had not been found in the over 1,300 sentient species recorded in galactic history, suggesting it was statistically unlikely. Predator species only occurred on death worlds, and few species developed past infancy in such conditions. Individuals that had grown up from predator-laden planets would submit that predators were too instinctual to gain rational thought. They argued that a sentient predator would starve as it lost the cruelty necessary to hunt, or that no god would allow the gift of a mind to fall into the hands of a predator. Ecologists submitted that a sentient predator would not be able to survive: they would simply eat themselves to starvation. They would not have time to advance enough to set up truly sustainable food sources before they decimated their homes, and would subsequently never survive, or at least be stuck in a perpetually diminished state. The ∴።፨፨•, with their unique cultural appreciation of their homeworld and its other facets, occasionally disputed this idea. They themselves might be able to support a predator species on their otherwise peaceful planet, as they worked diligently to prevent the extinction of any species, even those bothersome to themselves. However, this was generally concluded to either be a cultural stance too rare to be statistically significant, too kind-hearted for a predator to develop, or too cultural for a predator-species to develop before it was too late.
The Media and Entertainment industries had their own perspective on the hypothetical. Naturally, the idea of a flesh-eating, shadow-stalking killer was too good to pass up, once introduced by the likes of popular Kkaრ೮ಊs myth and fable. And as scary as they were as threats of nature, they were tantalizingly terrifying when they became sentient villains. They also had the additional benefit of being unlike any known species on the market: there was little risk in ostracising an audience or, as was assumed, any future audience. Media outlets on the less scrupulous end cherished flashy articles that warned of hazy figures on newly explored planets. Even official GC sources occasionally indulged in calculating the chance that a predator species would be discovered on planets set to be explored next, with comically infinitesimal numbers listed beneath the statistics displaying the chance of another sentient species, life at all, or the presence of water or mercury. Doomsday cultists of various sects listed the discovery of a sentient predator (an event commonly titled as ‘The Birth of the Weapon’) in their timeline to the end of known existence, claiming that such a species would herald, or bring about, the end times.
All of these sources provided the space for people to set aside suspicion and fear and truly hypothesize what such a group would look like, however. The visages they drew were wicked. The hulking, camouflaged behemoths of “Coldest Ice”, the slithering, silent shades in Buer-Mak’s various sculptural works, the clawed, voracious maws illustrated in Kk⇟ꜿ Illustrated’s conspiracy surrounding a supposed super-predator underneath the ℋi⤕lei colony. It would be, with strange accuracy, the literary works of Juarl Mೊ who came closest. Mೊ’s works took a clever spin on the Predator Villain in his series “The Remarkable and Solitary Survival of L.C. Tanne”. Mೊ portrays a sentient predator not as a physically imposing figure, but one of remarkable skill and endurance. An enemy that was nearly impossible to kill, and infinitely motivated. The unnamed villain of Mೊ’s story captured the fears of a small cult following, but did not become an archetype for new sensationalized stories. So, when that fateful discovery was made in the 1st quarter of 3409 GCY, it was to the delight of those few who had unexpectedly out-predicted the intellectuals of our time, and the horror and trepidation of all.
[Excerpt from “Sentient Predators: The Entrance of Humanity to the Galactic Stage” by Gaamorrnnck’ luuoi, transcribed from audio recording by Tamurӕck Passei, Translated into Terran common English by Automatic Translator ver. 1309]

Hangry Humans
As per standard operational procedure, we spent some time observing the Humans before we moved in.
It was identified early on that they stop work for meals three times a day and often have small amounts of food between these meals while they work. This is a common enough occurrence in many species who graze throughout their day cycle and was taken note of, again as per regulations.
We waited until the soldier caste humans were gone and swiftly incapacitated the remaining research caste via the standard electrical field interference method. We included in our observations the speed at which the humans recover from this, it is far faster than most and almost caught us out.
Then we moved the humans to our remote holding pens, providing what shelter they required and, as per passifying technique protocols, restricted their meals to once per day.
We have never had this technique fail. Keeping captives weak to prevent escape is a common method utilised for all grazing type species.
After several days we, foolishly, believed the humans would be docile enough to allow for close quarter testing.
We entered their holding pen with the standard protective equipment and when we were rushed we attempted to utilise the electrical stun weapons, but we could not prevent them from overwhelming us.
I must report that our survival was purely down to the humans choosing to spare us because we were more interesting alive than dead. They even told us why they were so determined to escape and from this I must update the standard protocols to form an exception in interactions with humans.
Do not, under any circumstances, deny a human their regular meals. Far from making them docile, it instead places them in a heightened state of aggression, the term for which is hangry.

Small Noises
The air was warm, the breeze smelled of spicy alien flowers, the sun was a comforting Earthlike brightness, and something kept making a popping noise that was slowly driving me mad.
I tried to figure it out. The hoversled that Mur and I sat waiting on was inert and parked. There was no cargo on it because the client was late (thus the waiting). Our ship lay behind us on a relatively quiet landing pad, with crewmates bustling around inside and a variety of locals going about their own business at some distance.
The door to our ship was closed. Maybe it was something from another ship? I turned my head back and forth, trying to pinpoint the direction.
Mur noticed, glancing up from where he was idly braiding his tentacles like a particularly arts-and-crafts-inclined dark blue squid. “Something wrong?” He sounded like he was hoping I’d say yes, because it would mean something to do.
“I’m trying to tell where that sound is coming from,” I told him, cupping a hand to one ear. Of course it stopped when I was actively trying to find it.
“What sound?” Mur asked.
“The little popping noise,” I said. “It happens every few seconds. I thought maybe it’s that ship over there, but I don’t know.”
“This noise?” Mur separated his tentacles and lay one against the deck of the hoversled, popping it upward with a suction-cup smack.
“It was you??” I spread my hands in exasperation. “I was trying to see which ship engine was making the weird cooldown noises, or maybe somebody on this spaceport chews bubblegum!”
“Nope,” he said cheerfully, popping a different tentacle even louder this time.
Shaking my head, I pulled my lips in and made a popping sound with my mouth. I’d meant it to be a frivolous imitation, but Mur gave me a sharp look.
“You do know that’s a swear word, right?”
“Ha! No, I didn’t.” I grinned. “Good to know.”
Still visibly bored, Mur lined up two tentacles against each other and separated them in a cascade of sound like undersea popcorn. “Bet you can’t do that.”
“You’re right,” I said. “But I can do this.” I breathed on my palms and squished them together in a respectable imitation of squeaky flatulence. Third-grade me would have been proud.
“That’s not a swear,” Mur said.
“Probably for the best,” I told him. “Humans have been known to make that sound accidentally, and I can just imagine the diplomatic kerfuffles that it could lead to.”
Mur twirled a tentacle in assent. “Like we need more of those.”
I thought of another one. “Hey, I know you can’t do this.” I pressed one long fingernail against another, letting it snap back with a tiny click. “This only works when I need to trim my nails.” I snapped away in a flurry of clicks.
“Well, yeah,” Mur said. “You’ve got more hard parts to hit against each other than I do.”
“True.”
“Good thing there are no Mesmers here to put us to shame,” he said. “With all their clicky bits.”
I nodded, picturing the mantislike species that came in wild colors with egos to match. “Yeah, they’d definitely win the clicky-tappy competition. You know, I bet they’d make amazing tapdancers. I should ask Zhee if that’s already a thing.”
“Or you could ask these guys,” Mur said, standing abruptly.
I looked up to see an irritated-looking procession of Mesmers towing their own hoversled in our directions, loaded with shipping crates. There were many taps, clicks, and hissing grumbles.
I did not ask the late clients about tapdancing. Mur and I simply accepted the delivery with patience and grace, making sure everything was accounted for and all payments were squared away, promising that we would do everything in our power to get the crates to their destination in the agreed-upon time frame or better.
The clients agreed in a huff, leaving with a flair of red and bronze limbs, still muttering. Some of it was barely-veiled insults that they clearly didn’t care if we overheard.
I didn’t say anything as they clicked away. Neither did Mur.
But I did swear in his language once they were out of earshot.

Hi Jinx! HaSo sorry to bother you, but have you ever had a fic idea based on a big theory- but because it's from an ongoing material, it's a waiting game to see if the theory becomes canon or not? Idk if this is making much sense but the question I'm trying to ask is if I should go ahead and write it- my concern is that if the theory becomes false, I'll lose any and all motivation to write it. Help?
Never a bother! I love answering writer questions!
So firstly, I have no authority over what you write ever. But. I had this too, during the first couple of episodes of WandaVision. Not sure if you've read my fic Dollhouse, but I was thinking of doing a version of that where Clint came to rescue Wanda but instead was sucked into the sitcom fantasy with her and was forced to play along. I got really excited about it, but as the show progressed and we got more and more information that contradicted that idea, I fell out of love with the idea of writing it. From that, I learned that it's ok to have theories and ideas of what will happen without turning it into fic. It can just be a "What if this happened?" that we entertain until canon confirms it or not.
Does this mean you shouldn't write your fic? Well. To me, this actually sounds less like an "it might not be canon" issue and more of an "Oooh shiny new thing it's exciting right now!" issue. Which every artist has, all the time. So my advice is this: give it a week. If the idea still excites you in a week, and it's been floating around in the back of your mind the whole time, write the outline. If the outline still excites you a week after that, write the fic. And commit to finishing it whether canon contradicts you or not.
(This is assuming it's a multi-chapter fic, if it's a one-shot under 5000 words I say just go for it!)

How do you think aliens would respond to humans' extreme non-sequitur threats? Like. One human says they're going to kill another over a mild inconvenience
Aliens take threats VERY seriously.
The two humans in this are siblings fyi:
