woh chand chehray woh bahki batein sulagtay din thay mahekti ratein

woh chotay chotay se kaghazon par muhabaton ke payam likhna

gulab chehron se dil lagana woh chupke chupke nazar milana

woh aarzuon ke khawab bunna woh qisa-e-na-tamaam likhna

mere nagar ki haseen fizao kahin jo un ke nishan pao

to puchna ye kahan basay wo kahan hain un ka qayam likhna

khuli fazaon main saans lena abas hai ab to ghutan hai aisi

ke charon janib shajar khade hain salib-surat tamam likhna

gayi ruton main hasan hamara bus ek hi to ye mashghala tha

kisi ke chehre ko subah kehna kisi ki zulfon ko sham likhna

So I am a little cursed to find a song/ghazal/sher at the moment in which it hurts the most (i.e. when its most relatable) 

I recently found the beautiful Ghazal written by Deepti Mishra and sung by Ghulam Ali Sahab

Wo Nahi mera magar, usse mohaabat hai toh hai 

Its a beautiful piece, I relate it to it in a manner, where one knows that the one they want is not going to reciprocate, and there is an acceptance of the fact, but regardless, he sometimes lets out the emotions/words that he was to bottle-up until he moves on. 

Another sher in this ghazal that draws me is 

Kab kaha maine ke wo mil jaye mujhe, mai use, 

Gair na Ho jaaye wo bas itni hasrat hai toh hai. 

While it would be amazing that two of them could stay connected for ever but in all likelihood they would drift apart or fall apart and all he could hope is that she does not remember him as an annoyance but thinks back of him fondly, if she does at all.

dost ban kar dushmanon- sa woh sataata hai mujhe

they torment me as an enemy after being my friend

फिर भी उस ज़ालिम पे मरना अपनी फ़ितरत है तो है

phir bhi us zaalim pe marna apni fitrat hai to hai

even then dying on that merciless is my nature then it is what it is

दूर थे और दूर हैं हर दम ज़मीन-ओ-आसमाँ

door the aur door hain hardam zameeno-aasmaan

the earth and sky is and always was away from each other

दूरियों के बाद भी दोनों में क़ुर्बत है तो है

dooriyon ke baad bhi dono mein kurbat hai to hai

even after so much distance they have closeness with each then it is what it is
