Your boyfriend layed in your bed, his shirt and gi off and in the washing machine after a tough mission. The door to your room creaked open silently as you came in with a small tray of food. Cole's eyes we're closed as he layed his head back to rest for a minute, but as soon as the scent of your cooking hit his nose, his eyelashes fluttered open. The smell was familiar to him. It scratched his brain in the right way, as if something missing was tugging at his heart that was seemingly long forgotten. You gently sat down on the bed and left the tray of food on the counter. You rearranged the pillows and covers so your partner was more comfortable and not in pain. You looked at Cole's muscular chest, now littered in cuts and few bruises here and there. You took his hand and he met your gaze with his own softening one, frustration still visible. For now it was time to take care of the outside, the inside would have to wait for a brief second. You pressed a tender kiss to his cheek as you handed him the tray - a small bowl of broth, a piece of bread and a piece of cake on the side. Cole sighed in relief at the warm sensation of the steam in his face.

"Thanks, Hun. You're great." The master of earth spoke softly before the smell hit his nose even harder and it really caught his attention. It brought a lot to him in a brief moment - sounds, senses, smells, feelings...people. It was his favorite dish as a kid, when everything was ok, when he had smiling, laughing mom and dad at the dinner table. A simple bowl of broth was able to bring back a piece of his long gone family back to him. He stared at the bowl for a while more. His thoughts were scattered, flying into different directions, but in a calm manner. His thoughts shifted to his mom. What would she think of him now? What would she say? How would she look like now? He wanted her to be proud so badly. He thought of his mother every day, especially on missions like this one where he barely made it out alive.

Cole brought the spoon to his lips with shaky movements. It even tasted the same. That same exact flavor. All bruises and cuts faded instantly on his muscular chest. You pressed a kiss to his forehead at the sight of his clear skin. A sigh escaped Cole's lips before a tear dripped down right into the hot broth. A wave of anxiety flooded through your chest. Maybe it was a mistake, you shouldn't have called Cole's dad to ask for the recipe. You took a soft breath before speaking up.

"I'm sorry, maybe i shouldn't have." He was clearly pained by such a memory, perhaps you did more bad than good. "I thought it would've been nice and i...don't know. Sorry." You looked at him with a gentle gaze. You had no idea what it was like to lose the rock in your life, the person who loved you the most. The master of earth's hand found it's way to yours and enveloped it tenderly, afraid to break it if he used more force.

"Thank you for reminding of something nice i had." He looked down, his smile melancholic and full of different emotions you couldn't describe. You were relieved for a moment until you heard a sob. You looked at Cole and your heart broke - the strong, undestroyable guy who was as tough as stone finally let his guard down and he broke right in front of you, crying ugly, but still with a smile on his face. You rushed to take the plate away and you took him in your arms.

He cried quietly as you stroked his gorgeous raven locks. You shushed the man grasping you for dear life and you pressed kisses to the top of his head. You gave him back a piece of his home. It was nothing to you, but to him it mattered so so much. Something even as simple as that could be so much for him. You could never know. You kept petting his hair as he wailed in your arms quietly. Maybe the same way once his father wailed in his mother's arms. You wouldn't know. For now you could only shush the sweetest man in the world as he trusted his most sacred feelings to you.

Summary: How would Sangwoo be with his Wife in theg games Warnings: Death - Canon violence - Angst - Mentions of suicide -

At first Sangwoo will try his best to hide the fact that he is in debt. He feels shame over it, how he lost his composture and ended in this type of situation.

Sangwoo its someone who fakes and hides his feelings a lot. He alwyas as felt like he needed to be the best for his mother to get a better life. Later on you came into the picture and the pressure got worse.

However, you are his wife and can tell something is off about him. As soon as he admits what is happening you will be reasuring him that everything will be fine, and that both of you will find a way out.

During games we can see different routes:

He has two things in mind, win and protect you. He tried to stop from coming with him but you insisted.

"Till deat do us apart, remember?"

You are the only one who he truly cares about besides himself. He will tell you to be close to him all the time and to not trust others, not even Gi-hun. He also tells you to follow him in every game, whatever choise he makes you must follow it.

Will talk to you away from the rest and tell you to rely on him. And to not question him.

During the first night when everything went to chaos he has you at his side through all of it.

If you two go with someone else at the marbles game and end winning Sangwoo is keeping himself close to you and thanking heavens he decided not to team up with you, even if you were a bit ofended by it at the start.

It ends with both of you hugging each other after it. Sangwoo does not want to be seen as "soft" or "weak" so he will take you to the bathroom where he will let you cry in his arms and even him will cry a bit, the idea of losing you and the fact that it was a close call was too much.

If you two went together then Sangwoo will insist you are the one who must survive and get out, making you promise him to take care of his mother and telling you to live a better life. He will call you names and say things like he never loved you to make you angry at him so you will decide to let him die in there.

"Cant you see we are here because of you? Because you always wanted things that were out of our reach? I tried my best and look around now. We are surronded by bodies because of you"

"Do you know why i decided to date you? Because Gi-hun dared me and I accepted. You just were so dumb and fell right for it. I never wanted to marry you, but i could not pass the chance to get a better image for my friends and mother"

Bet you wont believe him and will pull him down for a kiss. You would bait him into thinking that he lost but at the end he sees with desesperation how the guard is going to take you instead of him.

"I love you Sangwoo, and i cant imagine a life without you, so please, please win this game and live for the both of us"

He will be heartbroken after it but wont consider suicide since he promised you to live for both and not for himself. He gets more distant and cold toward others for the rest of the games.

With the game of the glass bridge he will try his best to protect you. Does not mind a bit once he pushes down that player to save you. If he needs to calm you down after it he will do it.

"It was our only option, we would have died otherwise"

For the final night pre final game he will still go and kill Sae-byeok only feeling bad about it because she was close to you in the games. If the game master insist other has to die then it will be a fight till death with Gi-hun.

If he wins and both of you have to fight against each other in the last game, Sangwoo will still sacriface himself for you, even if he is the one with better chances of winning.

If it comes down to Gi-hun and you its going to be a serious fight. Gi-hun knows you and likes you but he cant help but see Sangwoo on yourself and how he acted in the games. He also wants to see his daugther again.

- gihun was starting to get worried that you didn’t like him with how many jokes he made that failed to make you laugh and even smile

- but one day, he made a joke/pickup line that he thought would make you laugh and so he told it to you when you got home from a stressful day at work

- “hey, y/n, why did i lose my heart? because you stole it!” he said to you with a wide smile on his face

- a smile lit up across your lips as well which surprised gihun as he hadn’t seen you smile even before

- he got so much more happier that he ran up to you and hugged you

- “i made you smile! that means you don’t hate me, right?!”

- he would then keep coming up with terrible pickup lines just to keep telling you them so that he would see you smile more

- but he wouldn’t mind if it took more time for it to happen, he is perfectly fine with knowing he at least made you smile once!

Sangwoo [218]:

- we all know sangwoo doesn’t smile basically at all so he really wouldn’t give a shit if you didn’t either

- so he didn’t try to make you smile either, it just happened naturally one day

- he was out on the porch smoking a cigarette early in the morning and you had woken up because of it when you walked out and took the cigarette away from him and took a hit of it yourself before saying “y’know smoking can kill you.” and then smiling

- let me tell you my man was shook to the point that all he could say was

- “that’s very attractive of you.”

- since then he would tell you when he’s going on smoke breaks if you both were together at the moment in hopes of seeing you smile again which he didn’t even realize

- he was whipped for you from that point on and he didn’t even know which you thought was funny especially when you told him and he just denied it over and over again

- but he knew he was, he couldn’t help it </3

Sae-Byeok [067]:

- saebyeok didn’t care much about if you didn’t smile or laugh around her, but there was still a tiny piece of her that would be sad about it despite being the same herself

- she didn’t try to figure out ways to make you smile but then she came up with the idea of kissing you for the first time and seeing how it went

- so while you two were sitting inside your place on the couch and talking, saebyeok suddenly just stopped your talking by kissing you

- and when she pulled away, the first thing she saw was a smile plastered on your face, resulting in her smiling back

- “i guess i’ll just have to kiss you a lot so i can see that smile more.”

- she wasn’t lying, she really did that so it would work which is very hot of her

- but eventually she would try and find different ways to make you smile more after seeing how beautiful your smile was and because she wanted to see it more

- this would also cause saebyeok to smile a lot more too, because seeing your smile makes her smile despite how much she denies it

Junho:

- junho is another one who thought you didn’t like him genuinely which made him really sad because he thought the reason was his job

- so he took a “vacation” for two weeks when it was him staying at home with you the whole time

- junho got you to smile when you came home from wherever and he had made you a full course meal all by himself with a smile on his face as he stood in the dining room with his hands open, gesturing to the table that was filled completely with food and wine

- “i made you this dinner because i love you, and i hope you love me too.”

- he really thought you didn’t like him so please reassure him that you do or else he’ll do this everyday and won’t stop until he knows completely

- he would be so happy that he got you to smile with this idea and that it worked so every two weeks, junho would take the day off work and make a full meal like that day so you both can be reminded of when you first smiled and when he knew that you did love him

- he would try other ways to make you smile and every time it worked, he would write it down so he knows how to make you smile for literally everything :( he’s so sweet

- junho would always work so hard just to make you smile because he loves seeing it so much that he can’t help but have to work his hardest just so he can see it once more

A/N: This was actually so cute to write!! I'm sure that Gi-Hun would be the best boyfriend/husband ever and I'm here for it 🥺🥺

Gi-hun was once married to a woman, so he knows exactly the pain and discomfort you feel at this specific time of the month

This man is extremely patient with his s/o, and he would do anything to make them feel better (in this case, you), even if that means he has to put up with your bad mood in the calmest and most understandable way possible

You feel really bad for screaming at him (if that ever happens), because you know he wouldn't scream back at you: he just swallows his hurt feelings in silence, in order to not stress you out even more than you already are

In those moments, you sincerely apologize to him, only for him to smile at you with nothing but pure love and understanding shining through his lovely brown eyes

"Don't worry, my love. I understand that you're feeling more sensitive than usual, but I'm here for you, ok?" he would reassure you with the right words before kissing you softly and cuddling with you

Whenever you run out of tampons or pads, he immediately goes outside to buy you lots and lots of hygiene products, even if he doesn't have much money with him

"Honey, I'm back!" he excitedly said, before opening your bathroom door. You two are so comfortable with each other's presence and have so much intimacy, that at this point you didn't mind him opening your bathroom door while you were in there. However, if you feel uncomfortable with this, just tell him and he will respect you without questioning you.

"Here, I bought all of this for you, sweetheart! I hope I brought the correct one..." his smile was big and full of energy: he looked like he just won the lottery... but the reality is that he was just extremely happy for being useful and for helping you out when you needed him

"H-how did you..." you started before pausing in mid-sentence, because you didn't want to argue with him, not after his kind gesture. "Well, nevermind. Thank you so much baby, you saved me once again." your grin was enough to make him melt right there and then.

"Of course!! Anything for my princess."

If you have painful cramps on your period, Gi-Hun will be running to you to help you feel better in a second: he will hug you tight, kiss you, cuddle you, grab something for you to eat or drink, or put his most comfortable bed sheets on top of you to make you feel warm... he will definitely take very good care of you

If he has to work that day, he will let you dress his baggy clothes, so you can smell his scent and somehow feel his presence while he isn't physically by your side

And don't you dare to try to convince him that you are fine when you aren't: he knows you too well and hates when you lie to him just to make him feel better

He will watch your favorite movies and listen to your favorite songs with you, while eating delicious snacks and making comments about it, showing you that he's really interested in your tastes... he will even dance and make silly faces for you without any shame just to make you laugh

But once you groaned in pain because he made you laugh too hard, his smile would instantly drop and he would come running to you, begging you to apologize him for hurting you

.Probably not the best boyfriend if we’re being completely honest

At least at first

His crippling gambling addiction paired with his lack of reliability really made it hard at the start of your friendship to fully trust him

But eventually he noticed that it was putting a strain on your relationship and not wanting to push a dear friend away he tried his best to quell his need to gamble

It took a while but slowly a budding romance started to form as time went on

Gi-hun doesn't show it much, his previous relationship leaving him a smoking pile of his former self, but he has a sweet side

Whenever he walks home from the market or his friends bar he picks the prettiest flowers he can find and tucks one behind your ear when he sees you

I think we can all agree this man gives the absolute best hugs.

Maybe I’m totally biased because I’ve seen the way Jung Jae hugs his fans but I like to think Gi-hun hugs the same way

Just a big old dad hug- complete with head pats

ALSO

When he sneaks off to the horse races when the urge becomes too great he bets on the horses that wear the numbers from your birthday or your anniversary

He likes to think of you as his lucky charm-

When you don't have anything better to do you stop by to help his mother with her chores around the house and go with her to the market, gossiping with all the other old ladies who run the food vendors

Needless to say she adores you- even warning you that you were too good for her son- which you always dismiss with a smile

Despite your efforts to stop him from gambling, Gi-hun still manages to rack up quite a bit of debt- whether it's from his addiction or just his easy fall back on loan sharks for money

You’d stopped offering to help him out financially after he’d blown up in your face about it

Gi-huns mother had called you one rainy afternoon and told you that her son had come home bloody and bruised and refused to talk to her about it

So naturally you were out of your door and half way to their home by the time she’d finished speaking

The walk wasn’t far- maybe ten minutes but you’d made it in under six

You’d barged through the front door and Gi-huns head snapped towards you from where he’d stood by the sink. The left side of his face had been tinged red and a dark purple was laced around his eye- his expression was pained but you never found out if it was from his bruises or the fact that he realized he had to come clean about his situation

So after you’d fussed over him and demanded he tell you what happened- he relayed everything. He had picked up a loan from some sketchy guys to pay for a couple of medical bills from his time at the factory and they’d jumped him because he hadn’t payed them off in time

Your reaction had been less than stellar, you hadn’t yelled but came off as more of a scolding parent- telling him you would have been more than willing to help and that he was reckless for putting himself in needless danger

His pride took over and he blew up- yelling about how he didn’t need your pity or your money- his words slipped though and it came across like he’d meant he didn’t need you

So with tears in your eyes, you’d made your way to the door too heartbroken to respond but Gi-hun jumped up and grabbed your wrist- he desperately tried to amend his mistake, voice shaky and eyes watery. When you didn’t respond right away he sighed defeated and reached into his pocket

When you felt him press a handful of crumpled thousand won bills into your hand and tell you to take the bus so you could get home safely you forgave him almost instantly- holding his hand when he pulled away and apologizing for being harsh

A few days later the whole thing had blown over- Gi-hun allowed you to pay off his debt to the loan sharks (he insisted it would be the only time) and promised he wouldn’t get into trouble again

That being said

Since he doesn't have a ton of money- just pocket change from odd jobs- he has to get creative with his dates

His friend offers you free drinks at his pub if you stop by when he's in a good mood- so when you manage to snag a bottle of soju or two, you splurge on some fish cakes from a vendor and just talk. You talk about everything that comes to mind. The walk home after is always the best- both of you giggling like idiots as you stumble through the streets.

Taking you out to see the stars is probably his favorite- it's rare that the night sky is clear enough to see them so they were up there shining against the night sky you're both ecstatic and excitedly find a place to set up your blankets

Neither of you are fond of fancy restaurants or dressy clothes

Anything you do together was enough

So in conclusion- it’s a bit rocky but he’s trying his best >:(

Cho Sang Woo Headcanons (Squid Game)

Sang Woo is far-sighted; meaning he can see things from far away fine but up-close objects are blurry. Since he has to read so much for his job, he just wears them all the time.

Extremely low alcohol tolerance. One beer and he’s already drunk. Choose not to drink because he doesn’t want to make a fool of himself.

Takes a lot of pride in his appearance. Always presses his suits for work. Maintains a healthy supply of hair products. Works out regularly and sticks to a strict diet. Part of the reason he chose his apartment was because of the commuting distance and resident gym attached.

Huuuuge sweet tooth. Pretends that he doesn’t, but it’s his one true weakness. Part of the reason he was able to figure out the second game was Dalgona candy was because of how much he used to eat of it as a kid.

His father died when he was young. Before that, his father & Gi-hun’s father were close like them.

Gi-hun gave him his first cigarette. He quit, but Sang kept at it.

Wanted to do the study abroad program to America when he was in university, but couldn’t afford it and instead focused on his studies. He regrets it and not traveling more.

Probably should've known it was sketchy the second the guy at the subway said you can "pay with your body"

You were one of the youngest people in there, it felt a bit weird

Before the games even started you were approached by a man named Gi-hun, he was much older than you, just like everyon else there

"You look like you're still a kid, why are you here?" He questioned you, he was being funny, but there was a bit of genuine concern in his voice

After that he kind of decided to stick with you, he wasn't about to let a teenager fend for themselves

Especially after the first game started and it was revealed to everyone that you will actually die if you get eliminated

You managed to survive the first game by hiding behind someone the whole time, you got that idea from other people that did the same

You were young, but you weren't stupid

When Sang-woo joined your alliance, he also seemed very taken aback by your age

He was a lot more helpful to you than to everyone else, even told you to pick the triangle in the second game, he wasn't about to let a child die

You and Sae-byeok, and later Ji Yeong as well, became good friends, they were the closest to you, age-wise, so you understood each other well

And with Sae-byeok you were both foreign to South Korea, you being an exchange student, and her being North Korean, so you were similar in many ways

You and Ali became quite close too, he was very sweet to you all, they all were, but Ali had this warm, comforting energy

Plus you were both not native to Korea, so it was a lot like with Sae-byeok, that aspect brought you two a lot closer

They all gave you some of their food from time to time, especially Gi-hun, he began to see you a bit like his child after a while if he's honest

You weren't that small you were in your teens, but everyone else was about in their 40s, so it was a big difference

I mean, your literal parents were roughly the same age as them

It was very hard to accept that most of you weren't going to make it to the end, they all obviously hoped that you would make it, you were so young, had your whole life in front of you, you weren't even of age yet

But at the same time, they didn't want to die either, basically making friends in this place was both a blessing and a curse

» because only one person could make it out of the games, you would have had to meet him afterwards.

» socializing would be hard for him. after losing his friends, and his mother, he would be scared to get attached to anyone.

» if he did, he would probably cry.

I feel like his love language would be quality time, though he’s really not into PDA.

If you are into PDA, he will try his best to try, but he can’t do more than kisses on cheeks and holding hands.

His life is private, and you’re his life. He won’t hide your relationship, but he will be more touchy and with you when you guys are alone.

He would rather treat you with a dinner, walk in a park or simply talk with you. He wants the best for you.

Really not good with words, he’s smart, but he can’t pinpoint what words can describe how he feels around you, so he tries to show his love with dates.

He also likes to be alone when he works, trust me, he’ll come to you once he needs company.

Anyways, outside of the game he’s really a sweetheart who just wants to do his best. This is a very slow relationship, but it’s worth it.

He’s more… intense.

When he sees you in this game, he can’t believe you would go back after trying for hours to make you surrender this idea to come back.

Instantly get more defensive when it comes to you.

Definitely doesn’t need a code, he is already there a second after thinking about doing it.

He will be too focused on winning and staying alive than couple things, which breaks you.

He sees you all worn up and sad, but he thinks he doesn’t have time to do that and it’s not the place.

If you die, he will feel guilt the rest of his life for not hugging you at least one more time. Even cries about it.

You are in his team in Tug-of-war, he will not give up on you and himself.

He will make sure you pick the right shape for dalgona game.

You both get fights since you’re in so much stress. He gets colder and colder more he’s in here.

Plot twist, if you make it until the last game, you’re with Gi-hun. Too scared of his so cold side, but also because you knew it will never be the same again after this.

If you get on his side and you two win, you will need time on your own. He understands and tries his best to show he isn’t normally like this, that he did this to survive.

But if you do, he will welcome you with open arms and both get revenge.

Gi-Hun [456]:

- gi-hun would end up finding out when the sleeve of your hoodie lifted up and he saw marks on your arms that he had never seen before

- he would ask you about it that night when you two were about to go to sleep, not thinking that you were self harming at all

- so when you told him, he was in complete shock, he even showed it on his face which he realized immediately after and quickly apologized before asking why you do it

- hearing your reason would make gi-hun extremely sad and he would reassure you that you don’t have to do that and that you shouldn’t be injuring yourself in such a kind way, not like he was demanding you to stop

- he would then ask you everyday how you were doing right in the morning then in the evening, even if his answer might be the same every time

- gi-hun would be so kind throughout helping you recover from this, he would listen to you rant about your problems instead of doing it, or he would get a rubber band or hair tie to put on your wrist and snap it when you felt like doing it (i actually recommend this bc it worked for me)

- “i love you more than anything. i would do anything for you if it meant you would be happy.”

- he would put up sticky notes when he was out for you at home to always remind you that he loved you and that he wasn’t going anywhere

- gi-hun would help you hide the scars if you wanted them to not be shown like getting you long-sleeve shirts or jackets that would cover them or buy makeup and apply it to the scars to cover them up because he looked it up and thought it might work

- if you didn’t want to hide the scars, he would be the one to answer the questions if people ask what those were from by making up random lies on the spot like your cat that you didn’t own or from being in a gang fight

Sangwoo [218]:

- he would probably flip the fuck out ngl

- he would see the marks on you somehow and would immediately know what it was and he would ask right at the moment if you were self harming, not even sugarcoating it at all

- when you replied yes, sangwoo would get more angry mixed with sadness as he walked up to you and asked how long you had been doing it

- if it had been for a while, he would feel like you lost trust in him and would be more upset than angry, but if it wasn’t a while then he would be more angry

- “you’re stupid for doing this but i understand so don’t feel bad.”

- sangwoo would have you try smoking with him as a replacement to self harming and if you did he would make sure to take smoke breaks with you whenever you were feeling the need to self harm

- he sucks at talking about his feelings but it would be noticeable through his actions that he was clearly upset that you had been doing this, but he would never admit it

- sangwoo would be much more protective over you after finding out because of the worry in the back of his head that you could have died one day because of it and how much regret he would feel for not noticing quick enough

- he would never pressure you into talking more about it in deeper context if it made you uncomfortable but if you wanted to talk about it he would listen quietly, taking in all of the words you were saying before replying with his opinion

- sangwoo isn’t one to cuddle very much, but every night when you two would go to bed he would make sure that he had at least one arm wrapped around you in some way so that he was still touching you to make sure you hadn’t gone anywhere

- he would read a lot about how to help people who self harm so he can help you the best he can and would actually buy physical copies of books about it to show how much he does care and want to help

Sae-Byeok [067]:

- she would probably take it the hardest tbh

- she found you in the middle of the act, and she ran up to you and grabbed your hands to stop what you were doing as she spoke loudly out all of what was crossing her mind at that exact moment, which was very unlike her

- the next morning she was awake before you because she couldn’t get any sleep and threw away everything that you had used and made sure that it wouldn’t happen again

- cuddling happened a lot more after that even though she already likes cuddling with you

- since then, she would try to express herself more with words, even if she stumbled a little bit whilst doing so

- so everyday sae-byeok would come up with a different way to say and show that she loves you, always letting you know that you’re loved and if you left that she would be utterly heartbroken
