idk if anyone still following me is even active anymore or will see this, but apologies for how inactive i’ve been. i was planning to start posting more when the dteam meetup happened, but in early september my dad passed away. it was really sudden and unexpected, he was still pretty young. and even now i’m still dealing with everything that comes with the loss of a loved one. so since then i have been on a deliberate hiatus, and quite honestly i’m not sure when i’ll be ready to come back, it may be months yet. i just figured i should probably say something in case anyone was wondering where i disappeared to.

that being said, i am also aware of what’s happened recently, namely the allegations against dream, and that there’s been a bit of a mass exodus in fandom. as for where i stand, i will continue to consume and enjoy dteam and dnf content until something both concrete (aka irrefutable) and actually illegal surfaces. until then my opinion on the more questionable alleged interactions that took place will remain critical in the absence of sufficient proof or information.

can i be fr for a minute?? sending abuse to people online for holding different views than you is not activism and in fact actively hurts your cause. most people are not extreme in their viewpoints, you can give them a new perspective if you're willing to spend some time explaining shit. if someone is saying something you disagree with and you rush in there to condescend to them and call them disgusting and subhuman and dont even TRY to explain calmly why their views are harmful, they're going to shut you out instantly and double down on their views.

most people are simply genuinely ignorant to the issues they're talking about - they just pick their views up from the news and the world around them and express opinions because that's what every person does. if you run in there and tell them they're scum for it, what then? if someone does that to you, are you going to think "maybe i should do some research" or are you going to think "this person is an asshole, im blocking them." a lot of you think you're activists and then refuse to do any kind of actual WORK to support your cause.

the borgias is my favorite show and i think it's the best show ever made and all. however, there's just this one aspect that is genuinely hilarious to me and i mostly criticize the show for. the writers suddenly trying to make the viewers massively despise juan by turning against him and disingenuously writing him in his final moments so the watchers won't miss him or sympathize with him by making him a walking danger as an excuse to kill him off and prop up cesare's character. they wanted the audience to root for cesare at juan's expense and make his death seem necessary lol. they truly thought they served with this one, like maybe juan's character was shamefully abandoned by the writers (as well as his family except for rodrigo) but david oakes had many people sold with the way he played him to perfection, improvising and making juan remarkable, tremendous, and humane. the show is obviously a classic masterpiece, but in my opinion about the juan part, simply rushing the writing of a tragic dying character on a show for weak reasons is pure disrespect.
