I've found the Zhentarim hideout at Waukeen's Rest yesterday and they've sent me to retrieve the missing cargo (I already know what's in that one from previous playthroughs hehe) and when I told Rugan he said:

Scar isn't stupid.

At least he doesnt think he is, but it's hard when the other hermits imply it. He doesn't think he's an idiot but... he feels like one when he fumbles with his words and the others laugh, when he misspells something or when he reads something incorrectly.

And his memory isn't the best either. He constantly forgets what he did, who he talked to that day. Was he supposed to meet up with someone today? He hopes not, he doesn't want to disappoint anyone by forgetting and not showing up...
