the whole "cats choose their owners" thing is really funny to me because ivy very much did NOT choose me. she was a slightly dim-witted and very rambunctious feral kitten, and that combination led to her getting herself stuck inside an old chipmunk nest halfway down the steep bank of the creek by my parents' house. from there she proceeded to scream her head off until both my mom and i came out to see what on earth was making all that racket, then we excavated her out of that hole like a sad little potato. she was grateful for the rescue, but definitely NOT grateful for the ensuing flea baths and conversion to indoor cat life at my apartment, which she reminds me of regularly. ivy i'm sorry for saving you from an early death due to predation/disease/cars, but can you stop biting me every day of my life please

i take it back i can't ever be normal about jonathan that boy literally planned his baby brother's funeral. he literally had to pick out a casket and try to get his mother to eat and sleep because she was going crazy and shutting down on him again in the middle of the biggest tragedy of their lives when one of the first things she said when they realized will wasn't home was that it was his fault. it was his fault and now will's dead and his mom may as well be too bc she's never going to be the same after this. jonathan was literally sixteen and at the coroner's office having to confirm that yes that is his baby brother's dead body and when he saw it he immediately went to throw up. and then when he did get him back and left with nancy literally just for like a day or whatever and came back to will being possessed, almost all gone, potentially on death's door due to the gate, and actively trying to kill them all. and when he gets home he's just brushing will's hair back from his forehead and softly saying i'm sorry i wasn't here i should've been here in the most tenderest, loving way ever. bc that's his baby brother and his best friend and he loves him so much and there isn't anything he wouldn't do for him. and when they're exorcising him, he's crying and begging his mom to stop and hiding in nancy's shoulder because he can't bear to see will writhing and screaming in pain like that. Literally How Is Anyone Supposed To Be Normal About Such A Character. HOW IS ANYONE SUPPOSED TO BE NORMAL ABOUT JONATHAN BYERS?!

Yeah Gotham TV really cashed in greek coins on Bruce and Alfred's power struggles and relationship. In a way this show established that Bruce is Alfred's domesticated monster first and foremost; Bruce is the way he is and he's a problem because Alfred was his guidance and Alfred is a problem. He's got a very specific brand of toxic masculinity that he passes right down to Bruce and really, Alfred is a god and that's the only reason why he can make a god-human, a superhero; Alfred makes Batman.
Like, the story really sits Alfred down and tells him hey, this is what it means to be a father, a god; you raise sons and you teach them order so they discover what anarchy is and in the end they'll devour you if you're lucky.
