Hi everyone!

I have been playing a very good trading card game (TCG) for the past month and I decided to join the first ever Regionals held here in the Philippines. Here is my short tourney report for

GRAND ARCHIVE TCG 1st PH REGIONALS

The Tournament is in BO3 format with 7 rounds of Swiss with top 8 cut. There are 108 participants - making this the largest Grand Archive TCG Regionals ever. I decided to bring my Fire-Umbra Diana Deck which I have been using since day 1 I started playing. Here’s my deck list:

This is deck is really hard to use as there are so many counters in wind and water decks. I built this one thinking that many allies deck will be present and I’m not wrong. Still, it is really hard to play against those decks.

Here are my Tournament match-ups:

Rd 1 vs Water Lorraine 2-1 W

Rd 2 vs Fire Umbra Diana mirror 2-0 W

Rd 3 vs Wind Tonoris allies 2-1 W

Rd 4 vs Wind Lorraine mid range Allies 1-2 L

Rd 5 vs Fire Zander Aggro 2-0 W

Rd 6 vs Wind Silvie Allies 2-0 W

Rd 7 vs Fire Merlin 0-0 D

After Swiss, my standing is 5W-1L-1D and I finished at 5th place and a spot at the top 8 cut.

Top Cut

Top 8 vs Luxem Zander 1-0 W

Top 4 vs Wind Lorraine mid range allies 1-2 L

And That’s it! I finished at top 4 for my first premier event in Grand Archive!

everyone QRTing this with “um actually 🤓☝️ limbus company/arknights/fgo/pgr IS different!” girl open your eyes please. People say these things about all of these games because they like playing them but at the same time feel extremely defensive about the fact that they’re playing gacha. “I know this game is a gacha but it isn’t like other gachas!” It is literally a gacha game. The developers chose this genre of game over literally any other for a reason. If they wanted to make a visual novel/rpg/etc they would have just done that. In their “dead months” these games still make more money than most indie games have ever made. I don’t have a problem with people playing these games knowing what they are, the problem is the point at which a player starts arguing that the game is “not like other gachas!” You can argue these points for any of these games, that’s why the OP edited the meme to look like this. Play whatever you want but understand the fact that any game created in the gacha genre (and the more western “loot box”) is exploitive to its players. You’ve fucked yourself as soon as you start believing this isn’t the case for “your” gacha.

We had the privilege of covering Anime Expo once again this year. Our video man, Ryan, recorded an Instagram reel of our experiences, while our Instagram admin, Joseph, dropped photos of incredible cosplayers each day of the convention.
