a couple of people were interested in another post with songs by beyblade seiyuu... well alright, this comes with the fact that in addition to the main five, there's a small handful of big name seiyuu in bakuten shoot who have done a lot of everything and the rest have done pretty much nothing, so, this is a very mixed bag. and a bit too many of these are hetalia songs because i just actually really like hetalia music ok

Bakugan is back...

And it’s actually pretty good!

It’s not perfect or amazing, but it’s a good reboot. I don’t know if I can say that it’s better than the first series, which is near and dear to my heart, but it’s what I would call a good reimagining: it takes a story and changes the set-up, such as the setting and they dynamics so that it feels fresher and more unique, but keeps the heart of the original and whatever made it work alive. In this case, it keeps some of the ideas and the feelings of the first Bakugan series, but reimagines it as a more modern, light-hearted series about friendship, social media, and just having fun, while also building up a sense of mystery. Plus, compared to the original Bakugan series and the insane twists turns its canon took, this one feels pretty down-to-Earth not unlike Yokai Watch or early Pokemon, and a lot less... anime than OG Bakugan did.

It’s no Digimon Tamers, I will admit, and there are few things that bug me. Namely, the animation tends to jump from being smoother and brighter than OG Bakguan, to more stiff and cheaper, particularly when they bust out the anime expressoins. The Bakugan are now fully-rendered in CG, which may remind some hardcore Brawlers (I-is that what we call Bakugan fans? Did we ever call ourselves that?) of the days of Mechtanium Surge; some of the changes made to the attributes colour schemes look more flat than others. For example, I can’t help but wonder why they’d change Haos palette from white-and-gold to white-and-teal; for Bakugan with light powers, it looks really flat and unimpressive. The music is another thing that got the short end of the stick; I will not lie, this theme song is just... bad. The original was pretty, cheesy too, but this just feels phoned in. Then again, it’s pretty hard to top Psychic Lover.

Despite this I’m still pleasantly suprised by the series, and there’s a lot to talk about it even after that little rant. Heck, I still have things to say about the stuff I just covered! In fact, as both a lover of Japanese and Canadian animation, as well as collectible monsters-- especially Bakugan--I am strongly tempted give this reboot a full-review when I get the chance!

But until then, please check out Bakugan: Battle Planet if you get the time. Maybe you’ll see what I’m talking about!

AU Nylocke (TOME) I’m putting this here because this is the Nylocke that is apart of the Omega Timeline. Where Nylocke had a twin brother (Nye is Colin-based on tta Nai’s name, and Martin- because Martin Billaney), who died. He is also the world’s best hacker, even better than the main villain of the blog, which was revealed once, but never by name. URL with Omega.

Hao Asakura- This was semi-based on the manga and the anime mixing. the story the blog was based off of is actually still on Fanfiction.Net i named Angel of the Devil (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/6203556/1/Angel-of-the-Devil) Feel free to read it! There are 9 chapters!

Glitchy Red (Pokemon Creepy Pasta)- He was based off of many different piecemeal creepy pastas (Lost Silver, Pokemon Black, Strangled Red, Glitchy Red, small stories about the candle instead of flash, but used in a house it would burn it down, and the rope inside would make you hang yourself). This blog got me into KORN.

Demon Eyes Kyo (Demon Eyes Kyo)- I read this manga in the 6th grade... it is fucking bloody and gory, so don’t look it up if you are weak stomached. I used him as the Guardian Spirit of Hao on his blog instead of the Fire Spirit.

Beelzemon (Digimon)- I had him on a blog I have yet to mention, but you’ll see why I haven’t yet, that blog is in a category all of its own~

Keldeo (Pokemon) He made a brief appearance on Kirb/Zetto blog... Chris named him Vic........ because voiced by Vic......

Luka Cross (OC- No other affiliation)- She is a girl with the power to summon elementals. From fire and ice spirits, to even the goddess of the moon. Her goal is to gain the power of Elder Summoning. Aldo Omega is in this AU as the guardian of the Library of Summoners, and he is an Elder Summon.

Luka (TOME)- She is the little sister of Xirra. A different kind of virus, hers is a contact epidemic virus that spreads through touch. She has her hands covered at all times, and is very shy, but is almost second to none in hand to hand combat, being at least 30 time stronger than her just 4 foot stature would lead you to believe. she is also a lolita that wears extremely tall boots, and yet she is still very short... like just under 5 foot short. She also dates a giant dragon... and she sounds like Hinata from Naruto... she is an actual baby that is months old

Hello, Isolans! We have conducted an activity check for the month of July!

The blogs that were removed from the Isola Radiale masterlist are under the cut. Note that both blogs with broken links and deactivated accounts will be included both at the top of this list and in their proper categories.

If you were removed in error, please simply send a re-application message. Several different people work on the activity checks, so it’s possible there are mistakes! If this happens to you, you will be able to keep everything you previously had, you just may be placed in a different residence.

Our general activity rules are as follows:

Make at least three in-character posts during a calendar month.

Only one drabble and/or meme response of 300+ words counts as activity.

Apparently every copy/download of B.DS.P contains both games, and all you need to do to access the other game is change a flag trigger in the data. So they have some damned balls selling a double pack of the game for $120. $60 extra just to flip a trigger and get access to the other version's roster. (Because let's be real, the only difference for those two games was the roster and CTRL+F Dia.lga/Time or Pal.kia/Space in the script.)

They really should have just done a single remake of Pla.tinum, especially since that game lets you get all three box legendaries during the story and postgame. The other thing they could have done was a "The Si.nnoh Collection" style game, where $60 got you both games in one pack, and you got a save file for Diamond and a save file for Pearl. Cyber Sleuth+Hacker's Memory did exactly this, and let you have 3 save files for each game, to boot. And yes, those games have PvP, and you can transfer digimon between save files for either game. You're still allowed multiple saves.

A third option, which applies more to entries that have more differences to them, such as whole locations and characters, would be to do a fusion of the two and re-imagine the game so that the remake blends elements of both games and just has the full roster of that generation. You have some in-story options that set which legendary you get during the story (Like the Latias/Latios question in Emerald that sets which one appears in your file), and then the other one(s) can be caught in postgame.

There's no excuse for multiple versions anymore. They should have been moved to single games with player choices determining some of the creature access and boss encounters, and then people can still trade for the ones they're missing, or start a new save file to re-experience the story and make a few new choices to get access to the monsters they didn't get the first time. $60 extra to functionally select "List B" from a dropdown and load a new Excel sheet isn't cute anymore. Either both games need to be radically different, or they need to switch to single games where the player has control over how their experience diverges from another player's.

Every other game company on the face of the earth knows how to do this. The biggest grossing franchise on the face of the earth? Nah, hao do I shot web. Double dip for massive profits.
