a/n: i’m a little late to the father’s day game… but i hope you all had a wonderful day and i hope you checked up on those who might not be as fortunate that day <3 enjoy ml, thank you for this sweet request!

y/n had caught bobby just getting off the engine after a call, practically appearing out of nowhere to grab him. she brought him away and up the stairs, leading him to the kitchen.

when bobby walked in, everyone had been in there with small wrapped presents and gift bags. bobby shook his head, “what is all this, guys?”

“happy father’s day!” buck yells, blowing a little party horn as he pushes the gift closer to bobby.

everyone at the station considered bobby as their non-biological father. not a single day went by where bobby wasn’t by their side. he was their captain, but also their friend. bobby fought alongside all of them and they all fought his battles for him. he never imagined that he would have all these people who loved him after what happened. he carried crushing guilt and was prepared to leave it all behind, making it impossible to open up. everyone at the firehouse saved him in every way a person can be saved. he brought out the best version of everyone. he never gave up hope on anyone and everyone there couldn’t thank him enough. y/n was hired by bobby, being her first accepting captain who actually cared about her and the job. she was a light to his day, and his guidance made her a better worker and person. he was their number one soldier.

“bobby, you’re the dad of this firehouse,” hen said.

“you did not have to do any of this,” he says. as kind of a gesture as this is, it’s making him miss his own children even more. however, he didn’t lose all of his children.

“c’mon, cap,” buck speaks excitedly. “you treat me more like a son than my real dad ever has. and you didn’t have to do that. so, open these gifts right now!”

bobby takes bucks first, stripping the bag of the paper and taking out the figure inside. it was a bobble head dressed in firefighting gear, who had similar features to bobby. “where the hell did you get this, buck?” bobby laughs and grins.

“the internet is a very big place, cap.”

“mine next!” chim yells, practically throwing his box into bobby’s arms. when he ripped the red and blue wrapping paper open, it revealed a red tumbler with captain nash on it, along with an LAFD badge above it. chimney weakly taped a picture of his face onto it. “your coffee cups are practically all falling apart, so i wanted to get you the best one out there. and i added some personalization to it,” he winks.

“thank you very much, chimney,” bobby smiles. “i’ll always think about you with my coffee from now on.”

bobby receives an extremely lavish watch from ravi, and his face drops as he opens it. it had little designs on the inside of the glass. “panikkar! how much was this?”

“oh you know, just pocket change,” he teases.

he opens the rest from eddie and hen, along with a few other gifts he received from people. he saved one of the closest for last. y/n gently handed her gift to bobby and set it down in front of him. she had curled the ribbon and wrapped it almost perfectly.

laying on top of the main gift was an air freshener for his car, shaped like a turnout jacket and an axe. it had his name on it and was his favorite scent. underneath was a board, with clear wooden writing. it wrote, captain nash, a true hero. all the names were in a circle around the quote including, diaz, buckley, wilson, han, y/l/n, panikkar. there was small pin on the inside with the word hero on it. “it’s a good luck charm, from all of us. you can wear it on your uniform or whatever you want to wear it on.”

bobby had suddenly been overwhelmed from the love he had been faced with. it was something he wanted for years, but never thinking he was worthy of something like it. a few years earlier, he was ready to leave the world after making up for his losses. when hen and buck found him knocked out from the amount of booze he’d consumed, he knew people were on his side. he was the most they could ask from a father. his eyes became glossy, but he refused to cry any form of tears in front of his crew anymore, even happy ones. he forced a strong front, but the appreciation from his kids brought down the walls.

now, bobby walks into the station every morning, the pin on one of his pockets, his tumbler in hand, a t-shirt from hen or eddie, his new watch. lastly, of course, he walked into his office to see the bobble head of himself on his desk.

he wore all of these items as much as he could, every single one meaning more to him than words. he never thought of himself as a hero, but the complete opposite. everything he is given was a gift, and represents the pure love everyone has for him. however, nothing can ever beat the true family gift of the 118.

Why Are People Happy (or like, at least Not Freaking Out) About the USA Midterm Results?

(or in my case exhaling a held breath as I slightly lift my finger off the "oh fuck me and my spouse should worry for our future survival if we stay in the country" button for now)

So for newer voters there is the very valid question: why the hell are people acting like this is a victory for progressives/Democrats when they'll likely lose the House and barely hold on to the Senate?

Short Answer: because by historical pattern and all the usual indicators, anyone who even slightly caucused with Dems should have been trounced, and the fact that they weren't trounced has the far hardline right shaking.

To borrow from a great Reddit comment I saw; the GOP is freaking out because this was like a pro boxer went up against a sick six year old, and the boxer may have scored higher in the end but the six year old beat the shit out of them in the process.

For decades the pattern has been that the president's party loses at LEAST 20-40 seats in the midterms. Add in that Republicans tend to turn out more for midterms, gerrymandering, and the fact that in the past swing voters are swayed by inflation and gas prices and...it should have been so much worse. With how everything was stacked up this ended up being a historic turnout for an incumbent executive branch, the career politicians pay attention to shit like that.

And yeah with how things are, "holy shit it could have been so much worse" is worth something.

So I'm not like, popping bottles and cheering, but this to me is a great example of Voting as Harm Reduction in Action.

Voting did not Fix It. It can't. Voting will not stop fascism, strike that expectation from your mind and also really see that that is not what voting's role is in an action plan. Voting is the Minimum. Meaning if you can't do anything else you vote, but you don't rely on voting and expect it alone to fix problems.

(long post with more of a breakdown below. Tho this isn't a breakdown where I pulled sources and exact numbers. It's more of a General Take Away.)

The ultimate proof that this wasn't great for the far right is the fact that they're very openly freaking out. Go to the far right outlets and they are losing it. It has been loudly shown that they can't assume they can point to inflation and get away with OPEN pushes for total take over.

On one hand, we very VERY likely gained a couple more years to fight (either to stop a fascist take over or to at least set things up to save more lives, or to even reduce the power hold a fascist take over could keep.) On the other hand, people like Nick Fuentes are now openly saying "we are the minority and these results show why we need a dictatorship." Whether it's a good thing they're saying the quiet part even louder or not remains to be seen.

(My optimistic take is it may be a good thing, as it's way harder for moderates to accuse progressives of hysterics when the wackos won't stop saying the quiet part out loud and are in fact saying it louder. I kind of WANT the wackos to be louder and louder, there's now good evidence that freaks voters out.)

The More Definitive Good:

-The GOP majority is not NEARLY what they were wanting, and a lot of their moderates are spooked. The status quo holders are seeing that hardline regressive politics like the overturn of Roe is BAD for them, and they can't rely on "but the gas prices." The GOP generally falls in line together yes, but remember how much they struggled to pass big change legislation when Trump was president? They're gonna have even more inter-party tensions now as the hardline right gets frustrated that they can't impeach Biden every week and the status quo moderates get more hesitant to back up policies that they KNOW won't be popular with their constituents. They will not be able to coast whatever they want through. Even if they end up flipping the House AND Senate it will not be with big enough majorities to do whatever they want.

-Listen if nothing else, if you're a petty bitch like me who enjoys a nice dish of shadenfreude, its probably gonna be very funny watching McCarthy struggle to keep his party on track if they retake the House.

-Cannot possibly stress enough that the fact that it's STILL not 100% certain the GOP will flip the house is buck fucking wild.

-GenZ turnout is giving me hope that the Youths are properly viewing voting as a minimal first step in an action plan and not as a "if it doesn't fix it why bother?" scenario. If voting is all you can do, do that so you can help give people who are fighting better ground to work on and more time. Stay involved in local elections especially!

-For me at least, this has let me take my mental finger off the PANIC AND FLEE NOW button so I can focus slightly less on survival for immediate family and more on helping others.

-Speaking of, LOOK UP HOW TO HELP YOUR NATIVE AMERICAN COMMUNITIES. The Indian Child Welfare Act is on the line at the supreme court. Look it up, look up how you can help.

Best Case Scenario Outcomes/Dreams

-Trump vs DeSantis actually does turn into a GOP civil war. Will this fight be good in the long run? I don't know but I know that at this moment it's very fun watching them claw at each other. Thoughts and prayers towards an ongoing GOP civil war. The established GOP wants Trump gone and see this midterm as proof he's bad for elections, but he's not going to go easy. I'm gonna be like Cersei Lannister looking out my window sipping wine watching them fight.

-GOP realizes "being seen as the social regression party is bad for us" and they stop being obstructionists. Best case here is they open up to climate legislation. That or they buckle down harder and piss everyone off more. Either way is likely to work out for progressives. Ultimate Dream is a GOP civil war and party shakeout leading to a conservative party with like, disagreements on tax policy and regulations being the biggest thing to worry about in the future.

-Bigger Dream; this is a death knell for the rise of Christo-Fascism. They overshot their reach with the Roe overturn and the power hold the hard right Christian block has on the conservative party goes downhill from here. This is more of a dream and not a realistic expectation though.

-I don't hold as much hope here but there's a CHANCE that this also signaled to Democrats that they can be more pushy and not suffer for it. Biden is a political beast and I wouldn't be surprised if his more openly progressive (by his standards) moves recently were to test how voters would respond to it. If Dems payed attention (big if) they got the message that people want more action.

-Trump probably lost the political backup he hoped for if he gets indicted. There's a GOOD chance that the establishment GOP won't stop the legal freight train about to hit him even if they get both House and Senate. I think it's silly to say "it's over for Trump!" but it's fair to say his tower is less protected than he likely hoped. It's likely the establishment is less afraid of his power than they were even after 2020.

-can you imagine if he made a third party and wrecked the GOP voting base? Like to charge reblog to cast.

-If nothing else; between Alex Jones, Elon flailing like an idiot and maybe taking down Twitter, and far right pundits screaming in confusion, there is entertainment to be had.

Now What:

-The fight is not over. It will never be over. The hill to fight up is less steep than expected now, but it's still there.

-We will likely not see much passed before 2024. This midterm was less about getting progressive platforms pushed and more about making it harder for regressive policies to pass. It'll be frustrating but with how things were stacked that's the best we could've hoped for.

-The GOP have gerrymandering and can win that way (it's likely how they end up winning the House) BUT more people are aware of it now and districts that should have been EASY wins were closer than the GOP would like. They're likely to try to gerrymander harder, it's now our job to be very very loud about that. Push for districting reform.

-The conservative voting bloc is ALSO sick of the two options. Peeking around in r/conservative revealed a surprising amount of support for rank choice voting. This is an area to plug your nose and work with people towards a common goal. Rank choice is at the moment, the most realistic strategy for breaking up the two party system.

-Hard to swallow pill: the majority of this country is moderate. It sucks. But it is. You cannot depend on the dream of a socialist revolution. Lying down and accepting that as a reason to give up is also not an option.

-Expanding on that; this midterm may be a sign that the moderates are more politically aware than they used to be, and that they're more persuadable towards progressive policy than I had expected. Try to keep that up, because it makes it harder for the hardline right to try to push their shit quietly.

-There will almost certainly not be a time where progressives can relax and say they fixed it.

-Celebrating "holy shit that could have been so much worse" can't be a sign that It's Fixed. I also don't think people view it that way. My big hope is that younger progressives have realized that they can't go "the system is fucked beyond repair so why bother."

-Celebrating increments and enjoying some shadenfreude can be good for your mental health. Shitting on people for celebrating "oh good I don't need to flee the country asap" doesn't really help anyone.

-There was a ZERO chance this midterm would have given total big majorities to progressives. If you are set on only celebrating Perfect Wins you're going to have a BAD TIME and will burn out fast.

-Fight for an ideal you don't expect to reach. Take every half step you can, push for bigger leaps. Do not give ground for the sake of not reaching the goal.

-If DeSantis is smart he will moderate his "anti woke" openly social-regression talk. Don't let him get away with remaking his image as "the nice safe moderate compared to Trump." Pull out the petty shit he did with Disney, point out every way he is JUST as low and mean.

-GenZ: the far right is now terrified of you. Good. Keep em scared.

I wanted to wish everyone here a very Happy New Year. This past year wasn't a particularly great one for me personally, and like most of you, it was filled with ups and downs. I made a few bad choices last year that I'm not proud of, but I hope I can be a better person this year.

That said, there were still many bright spots I wanted to take a moment to reflect on. And no, I will not be tagging anyone because when you do that, someone is always forgotten from that list. And I've been forgotten from those lists more times than I can count in this lifetime, and I don't want any of you out there to feel that way.

First, to those who took time from their lives and created Christmas gifts for me, words cannot express my happiness that you thought enough to make me something. I'm only sorry I didn't gift you something in return (tho that can always change in 2024 😉)

To those who left messages on my Christmas tree, I was amazed not only by how many notes I received, but by how heartfelt each message was. I wish I would have written more than a generic Merry Christmas greeting, so for that, know that I love you all and thank you for being part of this crazy fandom family and I have screenshot every message so that they may live on in infamy.

To those who participated in my recent event, A Series of Firsts, I was floored that so many people participated with such lovely fics. When I initially posted the event, I didn't expect such a turnout for these less popular suitors. I hope everyone has enjoyed writing and reading these fics, and maybe it will encourage others to shine a light on these men more often.

To those who have interacted with my fics - whether it be by reblogging, commenting, leaving a heart, or just reading them - a gigantic thank you. I share these silly little things for you, and to know that any of them are enjoyed us the most amazing feeling in the world.

To those in my Discord server - I'm so happy to have gotten to know so many of you outside of Tumblr. I am thankful for different time zones and someone almost always being there at 3 am to scream with about these 2D men we all love so much. I love you each and every one of you.

I'm from Argentina, so I'm also sorry to tell you that we're still alive in the World Cup, although by a very small difference, yesterday was an incredible game! I honestly didn't think we would get through, it has been an honor to compete against Wales!

I completely understand your point of view.

I mean football has always been very important for all of us here, it seems incredible but we breathe football, we are happy for football and we cry too; If it's football, 90% of the country wears it with its heart on its sleeve.

Although lately we have been doing very well in different sports nationwide, almost everything always ends up in something related to football.

To give you an example we can use the rugby world cup but if you don't mind, I'll also give you a little context.

Like every year the Copa Libertadores is played (it would be like a South American Champions League) and this year the fans of the Boca Juniors club (including me) did not stop looking for coincidences and situations that had happened the last time they won a Libertadores, we did something very similar with the 2022 World Cup ((believe me that there are still Twitter threads with all our conspiracy theories and "sacrifices" made by Argentines going around social media). If we win this Cup (we already reached the final as the first team to go through all the kill-kill matches on penalties in the history of the Cup) it would be our seventh CL so obviously we are all so obsessed that we see the number 7 everywhere ( there are also Twitter threads about this on the media).

Going back to the example, the last time the Pumas went to the semis was in 2007. And what happened that year? Boca won their last Libertadores. And now that the Pumas have returned to the semi-finals and we are all happy about it, we cannot help but not find the coincidence of the events and therefore fill ourselves with hope for winning “La Séptima” just for the simple fact that something that happened the last time we did it has happened again.

Sometimes I wonder if we are really so bad at a socioeconomic level that we put all our joys, hopes and sometimes sadness in a sport or if we are simply that passionate since we were born or if we are simply a country full of crazy people

I used to play tennis and paddle tennis, I still play as a hobby when I am very stressed and yes you are right, it is considered an elitist sport because to perform professionally you need a very high budget. Basically because it is an individual sport where all the expenses are your responsibility and you are not part of a team. Just like golf, you need special equipment to play it, from the racket to the balls. Generally, an instructor or coach is required to acquire correct technique and these classes are generally not cheap, then the courts are special, they are almost always inside a club, and that club charges a membership that is almost always inaccessible to most people.

I feel like there was a whole thing with the number 2 in anticipation of Barcelona’s second Champions League win last season ? and that ended up happening ..so maybe there’s something in it ✨

but no, you’re so right! football and netball were always free after school clubs (in my experience) so almost everyone has played football, and most girls over here will have played netball at some point too I think

that’s very fun! I’m a huge fan of tennis, just never had much chance to play - I was very good at it on the Nintendo Wii tho 😂 it was never offered as anything in school, same with rugby, or even cricket so I think they always seemed a bit fancier

idk if it’s because they’re less popular, generally, or maybe it’s just more expensive for schools to run - the most exotic thing my secondary school offered once was rowing which I quite liked ..definitely felt a bit posh, and it ultimately involved having to join a club outside of school

Chapter 3 Tuzla salt lake city

Mehmedalija micheal dizdar,Daniel selinovic,lejla maksimovic,jovan copic,Haris osmanovic are first to join plus president following along the race will be done by bikes while President will use car for safety reasons ,ready set go Micheal in lead while Lejla in second ,Daniel in third and last place Jovan but overtaken soon by Haris (then they got from Sarajevo to Vogosca,Semzovac,Srednje Olovo,Kladanj,Stupari,Zivinice to Tuzla) Vogosca was kinda more of a district then a town but it was interesting resting place for some at some motel micheal was resting in room with lejla separate beds but same room they both were tired took turns taking showers and then when micheal was taking shower a hand appeared on the wall in the steam from hot water micheal activated his stand viva la vida or v.l.a which is iron sword that spreads to his shoulder blades he uses it to cut the place where hand marks appear but to no avail then lejla comes in because she hears a commotion happening get strangled and held hostage by a user somewhere close to them micheal see some shining above the ceiling then breaks it making the user fall on micheal stand range then micheal kills him it was Jovan copic but he was in room alone for some reason instead of sharing room with someone but now it passed,micheal comforted lejla in her breathless state and she showed him her stand ghost which can heal flesh injuries but not fatal ones unless a sacrifice is used then the sleep for tommorow (Semzovac,Srednje done now Olovo) now in Olovo the rest again but now they go for walk Micheal,Lejla it was nice change of pace nice weather and all but now they needed to rest for the rest of the race because Micheal and Lejla are now getting behind Haris and Daniel in race to reach Tuzla so they all rest and continue tomorrow waken up they continue on(Kladanj and stupari done now Zivinice) they arrive little later then expected but they see a person in distance they see he pulled out gun and shot at them they took cover and micheal tried deflecting every bullet until the person runout of bullet then used steal ball technique called creative dragon which involve rolling steal ball at enemy and it takes away sight but the dodged it and defeated the enemy turnout it was Daniel selinovic they continue on while in dark someone lurk then leaves quickly then they leaves for the end goal Tuzla(Zivinice done now Tuzla) the arrive at Tuzla but get a letter telling them to get the artifact and go to batva street Sloboda stadium they did that and who the meet was Haris osmanovic and the president of Bosnia waiting to congratulate them on succeeding in the race but now they’ll have to give up the artifact even tho one of condition of race is the artifact can be kept if wanted they didn’t want to give it over because it can heal any sickness and give peace and prosperity to anyone in close range then Haris goes alone against them both with his steal ball technique called uzbuna he uses it it works on lejla sadly but shards hit micheal he gets healed and somehow uses his(Haris) technique against him by throwing dice at him causing shards to be directed at Haris he gets cut and that his end but now the president has now time for jokes he just stopped time and just went boom boom boom and micheal was done for but lejla escaped somehow she hid in train and made it go fast but again stopped time 10 then 9 it starting to get boring he throws alcohol on her and some matches she somehow dodged it but then he feels bullet wound on his leg then arm then stomach turn around sees trains passages are armed and shooting at him he tried stopping time once again but a bullet right through his head passes and he dies lejla is the winner and she gets to keep the prize and the money she lives and has a happy life in Bosnia we’ll with being scarred for life by the race one can be. thanks everyone for reading I hope you had fun this was inspired by jojo steal bull run but with Bosnia twist I hope it isn’t too bad bye bye everyone for now.

Living Room + Office Update.

They’ve been making some changes around the house, starting with the living and office areas. So far there’s new paint, furniture, paintings and accessories and a brick arch to separate both areas. They’re thinking about changing out the floors out too but they’ll save that for last.

Students flocked the lush green campus yard like sheep, moving about the different booths that caught their interest. Heat was definitely no stranger to anyone at the event, and that could be easily seen by the choices of outfits everyone wore. Shorts, short sleeves, and sundresses.

Aromas of fried seafoods, chilis, BBQ, and even some desserts danced in the air, coming from the left side of the property. While small black owned businesses, fundraising stands, live music, and different games for the attendees graced the right. To tie it all in, some booths played their own music once you got far enough away from the stage. Everyone had been talking about the event for weeks and it was a really good turnout to celebrate Juneteenth. You were so happy there was a Black Student Union at your school.

You'd made your way to the large gathering an hour into the festivities. Fashionably late in your matching crop top, shorts, and some sneakers Erik had bought to match his a week before. The gold jewelry you wore complimented your skin and you were happy with your choice to wear a little body lava.

Hopping booth to booth to help your friends had occupied your first hour before you decided to take a look around at the yard for yourself. You bought some homemade body butters as well as getting a jar of face mask cream. Self care with your boo was going to be the move this weekend.

"It's hot as hell." You mumbled to yourself, stopping to take a look around the area you were at. Freeze It Up caught your eye and you made a beeline for the frozen dessert truck. The weatherman wasn't lying when he'd said it would feel warmer than it was today. There was only so much your little portable fan could do.

You approached the truck, looking over at the menu to the side. A handsome guy with his dreads in a bun on his head came to the window. He looked at you and his lips pulled into a smile. "Welcome to Freeze It Up, beautiful. I'm Dorian. What can I get for such a pretty lady like yourself?" He smirked, leaning onto the counter. Chain dangling as he admired you.

Smiling, you brushed your hair behind your ear. "I think I wanna try the graham cracker shake. Can you add a little more milk so it won't be too thick?" He nodded at your request, winking before he walked away. You sent a quick text to Erik, standing aside as you waited on your order.

"Here you are, baby girl. Extra milk, just like you wanted. I even sprinkled on some extra graham crackers." He handed you the large cup, smiling when you thanked him. Neither of you aware of your approaching boyfriend. When you tried to pay him, he shook his head with a smile. "It's on the house, beautiful. Consider it a gift."

"Wassup, baby." Two arms slid around you and a soft pair of lips pecked your cheek, cutting off your response to Dorian. The faint scent of cologne gave away the culprit and you gave Dorian an apologetic smile. "She aight, but we appreciate it tho. Keep the change, bro." Erik sat a twenty on the counter, gently taking your hand to lead you away. Leaving it at that.

"You can't help yourself, huh?" You rolled your eyes at his behavior. "He was just being nice, Erik." He kissed his teeth, pursing his lips. You both stopped at the section of tables, standing aside so you'd be out of the way.

"Then he was gonna nicely ask you for your number. We had to stop that before it happened, baby." You watched him take your spoon, treating himself to a taste of your ice cream. He hummed at the taste, going for a second bite before you stopped him. "This shit slap a little. You think he'll make me one?"

"Hell nawl." You let out a laugh, making him chuckle. He smiled at your laughter, allowing the light to catch the gold on his bottom row of teeth. His hair was in the beginning stages of locs, really short yet they fit him well. The shirt he wore showed the form his body. Dri-fit Nike to be exact.

"Have I told you how pretty you are today?" His hand caught your chin as he stepped closer. You looked up at him through your lashes, trying not to smile as you nodded. "I don't think it'll hurt to let you know again." He pecked your lips, stealing quick kisses before you playfully nudged him off.

"Boy, quit. Showing out in public.." You went back to eating your ice cream, letting him follow you as you made your way back to the booths. Allowing him a spoonful here and there.

He stopped at whatever booth caught your eye, buying what ever you wanted. Brushing off you scolding him for doing so. As you stopped at a jewelry table, he stood aside so you could browse. His eyes scanned over the crowd carelessly until a duo of guys caught his eye. They watched you from a distance, and he could feel his jaw tensing.

Stepping behind you with arms folded, he stared back at the guys. Making them quickly look away. "Babe. Look at this one." You caught his attention. He looked at the ring in particular, smiling at it on your finger. "Isn't it pretty? I think I'm gonna get it."

"Yeah. I like that one, baby. You could get that matching chain too and I'll pay." He pointed to it, and you shook your head. Deciding to get the chain for him and paying, much to his displeasure.

You looked up when you heard your name being called from a distance, searching for the owner of the voice. A classmate of yours waved from his booth, complimenting you and your outfit. With a smile, you thanked him and turned back to Erik. "You popular today, hmm?" He wore a soft mug on his face, looking to the guy that had called to you. Oh brother.

"Someone's a little jealous today, I see." He looked to you, raising an eyebrow. "I'm used to you being a big baby.. but this jealousy is new." You chuckled as he scoffed, rolling his eyes.

"Me? I'm not jealous." He shrugged, taking your newly added bag from you to hold. "I'm cool like the other side of the pillow, baby." That made you cackle.

"You ain't never said no shit like that. That's how I know you lying." You caught his hand with your right, using your left hand to lightly graze his beard. He smiled a little at your spot-on accusation. You watched him take a seat, putting the bags on the table before resting back on his elbows. Stretching a leg out, he looked up at you and tilted his head to the side.

You turned from him, walking over to the large garbage bins. Tossing your now empty cup into the trash, you just knew he was watching your backside. And a quick glance back confirmed it. He licked his lips as you walked back to him, looking you over before he shook his head. "You must not see all these niggas checking you out. I even seen some women checking for you too." You giggled at the look on his face, sitting at his side. "I guess I am a little jealous." He mumbled the confession.

You playfully cooed, kissing his cheek a few times. "There you go, babe. The first step is admitting it." He blurt a laugh, gently knocking your hand off his face. "They might have their eyes on me, but I only have eyes for you." You both let out a laugh at that. His laughter calming enough after a moment to call you goofy.

"Hey, Erik. We missed you in class yesterday. Let me know if you need the notes, ok?"A light voice called out, making you look back in the direction it came. Some girl with the cutest blonde bob. You looked to Erik as he raised a hand to acknowledge her, telling her that he will. She smiled and turned to walk away.

"We missed you. Let me know if you need notes." You mocked her, kissing your teeth. Standing up from the table, you adjusted your clothes. He chuckled, asking a humored 'So we mocking now?'. Looking back, you flipped him off much to his amusement. "And if I am?"

He stood up, grinning as you looked at him. "What was that you just told me? The same applies for you, sweetness." You nodded, not really replying. Seeming unbothered to someone that didn't know better, but Erik knew better. Grabbing the bags from the table, he chuckled as you waited on him. "Excuse me, ma'am? Are you from Tennessee?"

You just looked at him, slowly attempting to fight a smile. "Erik, please don't." He laughed at your response as you turned to walk away. Before you broke character. His hand caught yours to stop your escape. "You better not."

He chuckled, pulling you back to him. "Cause you're the only ten I see.." You snorted a short laugh, playfully rolling your eyes. Erik smiled at the break through, leading the way to the car. "What do you say we get outta here and chill at my place? We can do dinner and a game night. I don't gotta worry about wondering eyes then."

let’s try to put my Return of Covid thoughts in order....

very long, all spoilers

it’s actually really hard to be levelheaded about this because the ending impacted me so much that even tho i loved so much of the episode everything just pales to the huge disappointment I got by the last scene.

I liked seeing the flashback of stan’s miserable pandemic life and it was sad and he was so cute. didn’t expect to see the actual burning scene and then funeral and i felt like it was actually the weakest part of the montage but that’s peanuts really.

also liked seeing stan get a little more hopeful and assertive as it was framed that he was doing it for kenny again. his team up with kyle was nice and I do enjoy their stiff banter and even the whole alexa genre of jokes was funny to an extent (if you ignore the blantant misogyny for a bit). I actually do love them not getting along because.. again, I felt it was deserved. it wasn’t just one measly argument that tore them apart it’s years of neglection.

butters... I was so scared of what they might do with him. I’m so glad he wasn’t what the fandom expected he’d be. I’m not a huge fan of the mustache (what’s with literally everyone getting facial hair tho? they had some bare faced parents..) but i’m so glad he was an overall happy person and an extremely good business man and con artist. it fits him really well and even if i hate him a little for being in the NFT business and want to punch him, this is still quite a perfect turnout for him. (also his sob story of being grounded for 16 years kjdshsdf)

clyde plot was kinda weird but i enjoyed it sdsdf i was never a huge clyde fan but I do love making fun of him, so i definitely laughed.

the kyman fight was hilarious and beautiful and everything I could have wished for. I even enjoyed kyle being overpowered even tho it’s always the other way..

also something I hadn’t mentioned before but I really, really love cartman’s family. his wife is super sweet and she’s hot man. and they’re so in love??? and they’re great and loving parents, cartman’s kids getting everything they could ever need and so well educated. they’re perfect, really. I love them so much and I love that cartman really did change his ways and he cares for them deeply to the point he becomes a little conniving shit again, to protect them. I love it.

the whole... past was....... underwhelming to say the least. there was no impact in them meeting their kid selves, the kids had almost no reaction (tho cartman did make me laugh), just throwing makeshift “you should forgive him!” “you lose everything when you lose this!” idk man. i’m not a writer but that’s weak ass writing. it’s just putting the base down so the idea goes forward but it’s not executing said idea. their later reconciliation at the game was also really weak. it’s true the tear between stan and kyle was the deepest but it was like that for a reason.. having spent some good time together can help mending it but it’s not just something worth going “sorry dude” “dw dude it’s cool!” over. I wrote about their whole recent timeline here and I really thought it was what matt and trey were referring to because it makes the most sense. but that and the last scene just make me feel like it was a fluke

and then. the last scene.

I have said this to my friends over and over by now but narratively it’s nor the smartest to SHOW the new future when the next content in line is gonna deal with the kids being friends again. like i sincerely thought that was the whole point, to build up the rest of the good timeline for them. it’s kinda weak showing how it turns out if you ask me. also it was SO messy. I felt like it was superrrr rushed. like it’s clearly not another 40 years later because shelly is younger than stan’s design, but also he still looks the same? still balding with afternoon shadow he’s just slimmer and in uniform. kyle and wendy and everyone else look exactly the same but wendy just came back from harvard and wants to get together with stan again? which is lovely and i appreciate the stendy don’t get me wrong but it’s framed in a kinda “we’re young and everything is still ahead of us” way. but they still used their 50yo designs?

anyway I could have gone without that last scene altogether because will i figured cartman would probably be punished for. uh. having a good life, loving family and saving the day along with saving their friendship. but not like this. I hated it. what’s the point of fixing the broship if you’re gonna leave one for the 4 to rot on the street? so it’s okay that cartman gets the bad route if everyone else is happy?

kyle stole cartman’s life basically. two jewish kids, one wearing a yamaka? (also its the same design as moisha) uh what the fuck. kyle doesn’t wear one, why would his son? basu put it really nicely here. yeah I get it the good ending is kyle getting it and cartman getting shit but it’s so brutal. cartman gave up everything. and he’s the one who cared most about their broship to begin with?? yeah he’s not a good person but he was always awarded for bad behavior and punished for his selfless acts and this ending is just a huge win for “kyle”, who had nothing before and has everything now.

edit: also wanted to add, basu pointed out to me that they went a whole ass way to make everything change for kyle’s benefit but not have kyle actually learn from it. like, even stan learned something, with his gift to past randy.. but kyle? doesn’t take responsibility for his part of the tear, doesn’t want to fix it for the right reasons and eventually ends up with the best life, so he doesn’t learn from it either. it’s fucked up

another reason it makes me mad is because it’s not just narratively weird for them to dump him but also it’s ooc for him to end up on the street. he hates poor people and homeless and he’s a survivor with quick adaptive capabilities- he can get himself out of binds easily because he’s not scared of throwing people and things under the bus. he also appreciates a comfortable way of living so i feel like, if he ever felt that his comfortable life was threatened he’d stir shit up and manipulate it so he’d win. and he’s done it before like... that’s the show. so this eric cartman would never end up on the street even if he was dirt poor. and kyle wouldn’t leave him alone either.. kyle loves helping cartman out when he’s in a bind, it rides on kyle’s savior complex. butters also loves cartman and idk he’d offer cartman to live with him and probably regret it later and idk give him food from the restaurant secretly... I don’t buy that they’d just leave him for dead. and I’m disappointed so many things were overlooked just to make this joke when it’s not even half as shocking as rabbi cartman
