First One of Many - Levi Ackerman x Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first time Levi Ackerman met your family, it was Thanksgiving. You've been dating for a little less than a year, which means you've been hounded by your family for just as long to bring around 'the new man'. It's not like you didn't want them to meet Levi - it was quite the opposite. You didn't want him to meet them. Your family, as most were, is extremely dysfunctional in the most passive aggressive ways. It was always, 'Oh you look great, did you lose weight?' or 'When are you going to settle down?', never once minding the fact of how rude it was to ask. Levi wasn't the type of person to hold back his disdain so when you both arrived at your childhood home and he acted quite polite, you were surprised. A strong handshake to your father, a small bouquet of flowers for your mother. It was civilized, until your parents and family members started hounding him about marriage and children and you just wanted to die on the spot. Levi, noticing your discomfort and embarrassment, took your hand in his under the table as he answered the questions with grace - never answering directly and deflecting so easily. Only when you were able to bid your farewells and crawl into Levi's warm car are you able to breathe. He takes your hand again, kisses your knuckles, and looks you straight in the eyes before saying, "Next year, we'll only go to my mom's okay?". It wasn't just the fact that he was just as exhausted by your family as you were, it's that he mentioned 'next year' like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Tumblr media
I made the moodboard and wrote the HC for @postwarlevi 's 'Under The Harvest Moon' collab! This was absolutely self-indulgent but kept it x reader for anyone who might relate. Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate! 🦃

Attack on Titan collab for writers and artists alike
Tumblr media
My first collab. Yay! Be gentle. And thank you to @firefly-graphics for these amazing dividers!

🍎 This is open to all sorts of creations. Writers with stories, HCs, shorter drabbles (let's say maybe at least 200 words?) Artists with fanart or mood boards, etc.
☕ Any autumn activity is welcome, and including holidays within fall (Halloween, etc). You can even throw in things you can do anytime (drive in movie, etc) as long is it clearly takes place in autumn (mentions of weather, decorations, etc)

Peace | Harvest Moon Collab Oneshot
✧ word count ➼ 1.5k ✧ notes ➼ A little post-war oneshot of you and Levi attending a Fall Festival while adjusting to normal life for @postwarlevi's Harvest Moon Collab Event! ✧ content/warnings: canonverse, post-war, gn!reader, some spoilers for the manga
Tumblr media
Adjusting to a normal life after a lifetime of war and tragedy was a challenge. Similar to how nothing could truly prepare you for war, nothing could have prepared you for suddenly being thrown into the expectation of living a "normal" life while your survival instincts were still stuck in a place where you had to be on guard 24/7.
It was a few months after the events surrounding the Rumbling. Things were slowly getting rebuilt, and both you and Levi found yourselves trying to adjust. The two of you settled down in an apartment close to the downtown area of a moderately-sized village. It was peaceful enough while still providing you access to services you'd need, given his bad knee and the lasting effects of the war on your mental health.
Adjusting was getting easier, but the fact that you didn't have to be prepared to fight a horde of Titans at a moment's notice was still hard to adjust to. Most days were okay, with just a minimal amount of discomfort for the both of you that you could easily adapt to.
Today was not one of those days.
You were shaken up and had barely gotten any sleep. Your nightmares were bad, and you could tell that Levi was struggling to get himself to get up to regularly expose himself to walking as his bad knee slowly began to heal.
He had to live with a limp due to his knee, but could walk in small increments, which was encouraged as some form of physical therapy—but he was required to actually get up and move around. Given the fact that you didn't know anyone in town and that there was still some stigma and gossip regarding the Eldians that resided on Paradis Island, going outside was not necessarily the most rewarding thing to do to pass the time.
Thus, when you heard from the locals that there was going to be a Fall Festival and saw that the weather was nice, you figured it was a good time to drag Levi out of the house in the hopes that everyone would be too busy enjoying the food and events without shooting you those wary glances.
Plus you needed the fresh air.
"How's your leg?" you asked as you pushed Levi's wheelchair forward while walking next to him, matching your pacing with his.
He scoffed at the fact that you even asked that question.
"Feels like shit," he grumbled, which resulted in a small amused smile forming on your face at his standard harsh commentary.
You had brought his wheelchair in case the pain started kicking in, but he seemed to be doing okay today. He was just walking on it for short periods of time to give it time to heal while also letting him adjust, although he hated having to depend on you to bring his wheelchair in case it got too painful for him.
"Thought you said there weren't going to be a shitton of people."
"There's not!" you exclaimed, although you knew he was right. The plaza wasn't necessarily packed per se, but it was definitely crowded enough for the both of you to feel uncomfortable wading through the crowd.
"Bullshit."
"You're so dramatic," you said with a sigh as you rolled your eyes before they fell on a stand that was set up for the festival.
You nudged Levi and motioned your head towards it.
"Come look at these pumpkins with me."
In addition to the music and art stands, there was a small area of the festival dedicated to some of the local farmers. There was a stand of freshly picked apples, all neatly sorted by color, right next to the pumpkin stand that had sizes of the squash ranging from around the size of a baseball, up to being even bigger than the tote bag you were currently carrying around.
"How many fucking pies are you planning on making?" Levi asked, slightly bewildered at the amount of apples and pumpkins that you were buying. You had mentioned something about making pastries, but neither of you were that into sweets.
"As many as I need to keep busy, I guess," you commented with a shrug.
Levi didn't respond with a sarcastic retort like he usually would. He knew what you were referring to—baking helps keep your mind busy. He understood it, and even tried to help out sometimes, although you would consistently complain about how he was usually too much of a pain in the ass over how to do things, which just resulted in you kicking him out of the kitchen on most days.
Your eyes flashed up as you saw a group of kids run by you and towards the plaza. They had come from a Halloween face painting stand, so their faces were covered in various shades that were supposed to resemble some well-known Halloween-esque character that you couldn't recognize. They were running over towards a live band that was playing, joining some of the other locals in dancing to the music.
As much as you felt like an outsider sometimes, the liveliness of some of the locals still brought a smile to your face. It was a glimpse into what human nature was when you weren't burdened with the weight of war.
You saw that Levi's pace was slowing down a bit and changed your direction so that you slowly headed towards a bench that seemed to be a bit further out from the crowd.
You could barely hear the music from here, but you were still able to watch the camaraderie. It was nice to experience even a little sense of peace after the horror that was the Rumbling.
You watched as the sun began to dip below the horizon, which prompted the street lights around you to flicker on. Even the music began to calm after a while as people began to trickle out of the plaza and vendors began to pack up for the day.
"You think it gets easier?" you eventually asked.
Levi glanced over towards you, watching you as you fixed your gaze on the setting sun.
"Depends on what you're referring to."
He saw your eyes flicker down, with a hint of dejection showing up in your expression.
"Adjusting to...normal life," you eventually whispered.
Levi directed his gaze back towards the sunset, his lips slightly parting as he began to formulate an answer to your question, although he wasn't quite sure what that answer was supposed to be. He didn't know if adjusting would get easier. You both still had your nightmares and were ready to jump back into survival mode at a moment's notice. It felt agonizing.
After a few seconds, you looked over at him, watching as the breeze drifted through his raven locks, making them subtly rise and fall over his forehead. Your eyes drifted down towards his damaged eye, noting the scars that ran down his right cheek. You were tempted to reach out and run your fingers over his scars. They added to him in a way that was hard for him to see himself, but you were able to see. You were always able to see his worth as more than a soldier. To you, he was just Levi.
"I like to think that it will," he eventually said, "for their sake, if nothing else."
Your eyes flickered down as you brought up your memories of the people that had died for this peace that you were currently living in—the ones that didn't make it to the end: Erwin, Miche, Hange, and even Levi's original squad.
You hoped that you'd be able to find that peace they had died for.
You rested your head on his shoulder, scooting closer so that your hips were touching.
It was going to be hard to adapt to that peace after a life of nothing but fighting. You knew it was going to be hard, but you also knew that what Levi said wasn't just blind optimism. He's known grief for nearly his entire life, experiencing firsthand how easy it is for that grief to swallow you, and how to drag yourself out of it as you learned to make room for it.
At least you had Levi next to you on this journey. Even after all that loss, at least you still had him.
Levi wrapped his right arm around your shoulder, pulling you in closer and planting a quick kiss on the top of your head.
You looked down towards his hand that was now resting on your shoulder and noted his two missing fingers. The war had left the both of you scarred—for him, it was his eye, hand, and fingers; for you, it was a particularly nasty gash on your shoulder that you sometimes still felt the phantom pain of.
It was going to be a hard journey and there was no changing that—but at least it will be a journey that you'd be able to take together.

Sharing a small, small thought for @postwarlevi's Harvest Moon AOT Collab. I hope you all enjoy a soft autumn walk with Levi and your baby.
.
(Celebrating an Asian Mid-Autumn festival with Levi and your toddler. After a hearty meal, you took a stroll in the park with handmade lanterns.)
.
Levi was washing the dishes as you dressed your toddler up in a bear onesie. You picked a cream colour bear onesie this time because you were going out for a stroll. Your toddler was screaming excitedly as it was rare that you would go out after the sun set. But today was special. It was the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Levi had put up colourful lanterns around on your porch and back garden the week before. He knew how much you looked forward to this festival. He made sure to light up the lanterns every night just to see your happy smiles. He remembered you told him that the Mid-Autumn festival was your favourite festival of the year. The cool autumn breeze, the beautiful lanterns illuminating the night, and the soft crunching sound of leaves beneath your feet. And oh, this year you had a little bear tagging along.
Wiping his hands on a clean cloth, Levi walked into the living room to find you tying your little bear's shoes on his tiny feet. Levi grinned at the sight of his two favourite humans. He dropped the cloth at the counter and walked toward the store room.
"Levi? Are you ready to go?" You helped your little bear stand up. As you turned, you found Levi holding two lanterns in his hand. His grin mimicked yours.
"I got it for you and Bear. It'll be the total experience." Levi got you a traditional star-shaped lantern that required a candle while your little bear got a LED light lit apple-shaped lantern. You showed your little bear how to properly set up a traditional lantern, and when Levi lit up the LED light, your little bear squealed in delight.
With Levi walking in the middle, he held you and bear with his free hands. Bear was shaking his little apple-shaped lantern a bit too much but you were glad Levi's quick thinking about getting him a LED-light lit lantern. You star-shaped lantern glowed a soft, warm yellow light. You remembered the days when you were young, you would have a similar lantern to attend festivals with your friends and families. And now, you were doing it with the love of your life and your little bear.
The park was lit up with countless colourful lanterns. Happy people chattered and crowded the place. There were people selling hot snacks and tea, small game stalls to lighten up the spirit, and a lot of people walking with handmade lanterns. You greeted people here and there, Levi nodded politely at them and even smiled at some. Levi was in a good mood. Your little bear was proud of his little apple-shaped lantern, showing it to every person that stopped by to say hello.
After a few games and running after a run-away wobbling little bear, the people in the park started to disperse. Levi had won you a white bunny plush toy and your little bear had fallen asleep in Levi's arms. Levi insisted on carrying bear in one arm while holding yours with his other hand. You walked side by side in silence, bumping into each other every other step, reminiscing the dates you used to go to before you had bear.
You stared at Levi, smiling so shyly and so... comfortably at him. How could you still be shy with the man you had been together for years?
"Yes, my angel?" Levi asked.
"Nothing, just.. shy." You leaned into him, hiding your face at the crook of his neck, feeling his warmth on your reddened cheek.
"You're my wife and we have a baby now and you're still shy around me?" Levi leaned his face toward you. You giggled, embarrassed.
"You're forever my princess, you know." Levi wrapped his arm around your waist and kissed the side of your head. "I'm glad you are still shy around me."
"So is it like a date?" You looked at him expectedly.
Levi's eyes lit up and he laughed softly. He leaned in and kissed your nose. "It's a date. A date with the love of my life."
You stared at each other's eyes, seeing your reflection and love, a love so certain, so sure, before you leaned in for a long kiss.
Levi whispered, "I love you, y/n."
You swore even the moon was a little jealous of you tonight.

—"out of all the apples in the orchard, i'd pick you"
a/n: my submission for @postwarlevi's under the harvest moon collab! ♡ armin x gn!reader go on an apple picking date + mini moodboards! photos are not mine but were edited by me ༘⋆ this is sfw!
contains: armin x gn!reader, established relationship, modern au! reader does not have gendered pronouns and there is no description of reader. nicknames used (beautiful, angel)
Tumblr media
"good morning, angel." armin says sleepily, stirring in bed next to you. it's the first weekend of fall, the season you anticipate the most with each passing year. the temperature starts to drop, the leaves change colour, and the farmer's market is open to the public. "good morning, my love." you reply, smiling at him. he rises from the bed to stretch, standing in his pajama pants. his messy blonde hair falls over his eyes.
"i have something planned for us today. the faster we get ready to go, the better." he says sweetly, tussling his hair. "i think you'll like it... i hope so, anyways." he says with a hint of nervousness in his voice. you sit up in bed and extend your arm out to him as a reassuring gesture. "oh, 'min! you know i love and appreciate everything you do for me." you smile lovingly at him. he smiles back and nods.
you finish getting ready for armin's surprise date and meet him at the front door of your apartment. he stands patiently waiting for you, keys in his hand. "you look beautiful, angel. you always do. i'm so lucky that you're mine. all mine." he says to you as you approach him, smiling like a kid in a candy store. "thank you, love. i will always feel the same way about you." you reply as you take his hand in yours.
Tumblr media
after a quick car ride to a couple of towns over, you arrive to a open field full of apple trees. the leaves are green, some orange and red like the apples that grow from them. there's people galore congregating and children running around playing tag.
Tumblr media
"armin! how'd you find this place?!" you ask excitedly. "luck, i guess?" he replies nonchalantly, chuckling softly. "you mentioned wanting to try apple picking once a few months ago, and i got an ad the other day that this place was opening soon so i booked us a little staycation." he smiles at you.
"you're so thoughtful, 'min." you grab his hands and squeeze lovingly. "thank you. i am so excited! c'mon!! let's go get a basket!" you exclaim, grabbing his hand and pulling him towards a booth at the front entrance of the orchard.
you and armin walk hand-in-hand through aisles and aisles of apple trees; fuji, gala, golden delicious, honeycrisp, and more for what feels like hours. with a full basket of apples, you both decide to call it a day and head to the air bnb he rented for the weekend. "that was so much fun! i can't wait to eat all of these apples! we can do so much with them!" you say happily. "i had a great time. i always do with you, my beautiful angel." he replies, bringing your hand up to his lips and kissing it softly. "you are the apple of my eye, after all." he chuckles to himself. "pun intended."
you nudge him and roll your eyes playfully. "i'm surprised you waited this long to crack some dad jokes." he laughs softly at your comment. "in all seriousness, though, out of all the apples in the orchard, i'd pick you." he smiles and kisses your cheek.

👻Halloween Shopping 👻
A cute and silly Halloween themed drabble for @postwarlevi's Under A Harvest Moon Collab
Levi x reader, no warnings... maybe a part two eventually
Tumblr media
“Smell this,” you playfully command, holding out a candle towards Levi.
Without even looking up, Levi follows your request, tilting his head to the side and distractedly sniffing from the candle you’ve presented to him. It makes you smile, a warm feeling fluttering in your chest at just how readily he trusts your judgment.
He grunts, his face twisting up in a mix of disgust and confusion. It reminds you of the face one of your cats makes whenever he sniffs one of Levi’s cleaning sprays. “What the fuck is that supposed to smell like?”
Twisting the glass jar around, you show him the label with a toothy grin. “Misty Graveyard, apparently.” You take another whiff of the orange wax, wrinkling your nose in contemplation. “I don’t know if I like it. What do you think?”
“I think it smells like rotting leaves,” Levi replies, his tone unamused as he glances at the colorful rows of candles surrounding you. “Why are there so many, anyway?”
“Because normal people love Halloween,” you reply with a smirk. You lean in slightly, holding the next candle up. It’s off-white, almost eggshell in color, with sparkly bits of glitter mixed in. Lifting it to your nose, the scent of sugary sweetness overwhelms your senses, carrying you to memories of childhood candy and festive treats.
“Normal, right.” Levi rolls his eyes, but there’s a hint of amusement in his tone. “Does that one have fucking glitter in it?”
“Yeah!” you exclaim, chuckling. “Here,” you offer this candle to him next, and he smells it without a bit of hesitation. His brows furrow as he inhales, and you can see him processing the aroma.
His face twists up in thought. “Smells burnt. Reminds me of when you tried to bake those brownies.”
You playfully nudge his arm with yours. “Hey! I just forgot about them!” Grinning, you defend your baking mishap. “They still tasted fine…”
Levi lets out a short laugh, shaking his head. “No. They did not. Everyone just gave them to Sasha when you weren’t looking.”
“Awe…” you respond, feigning disappointment. “Well, at least they went to a good cause.”
“What’s it supposed to smell like anyways?” Levi asks, his curiosity evident as he eyes the array of candles.
You turn the label towards him, the corner of your lips twitching into a playful smile. “Ghastly Ghoul? It says it’s supposed to smell like a marshmallow.”
Levi scrunches his nose in mock disgust. “Definitely not that one. You know my thoughts on glitter.”
You chuckle, remembering the time he had humorously referred to glitter as the physical manifestation of herpes. “Well, we have to pick one!”
“Do we?” he counters, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
“Come on! This is our first Halloween with our own house! We have to celebrate!” you insist, your enthusiasm infectious.
He bobs his head in response, his resistance softening. “Fine, but can we at least pick a more normal one?” From the shelf, he selects a cool grey candle, tilting it in your direction for inspection. “How about this one? It’s supposed to be Cashmere and cedar.”
“Cozy Autumn,” you read, leaning down for a sniff. A woodsy, rich scent floods your senses, carrying with it the essence of crackling fires and rustling leaves. You take a deliberate whiff of the candle, nodding in approval as the soothing aroma envelops your senses. “Oh, I like that. It’s cozy and not too overpowering. Though, It doesn’t exactly scream Halloween.”
“Well, we’re not getting any of the Candy or Pumpkin ones.” Levi grimaces, a hint of playful exasperation in his voice. “I’m already getting a headache just standing here.”
“Okay, Mr. Picky,” you reply teasingly, giving him a gentle nudge before taking the candle and placing it in your cart. As you do, a surge of excitement ripples through you, the anticipation of the upcoming Halloween gathering growing stronger. You can already picture the warm and inviting scent of the candle permeating your home, creating an ambiance that’s perfect for celebrating the season together.
Leading him into the next aisle, you eye the shelves filled with spooky skeletons and goofy animatronic spiders. “What about decorations? Do you want to do a theme?”
Sighing dramatically, Levi drags his feet as he follows behind you, his reluctance evident. “It’s just shit that’ll sit in a plastic bin in the attic for 11 months out of the year. What’s the point?”
You smile, wrapping your hand around his arm to tug him forward towards a wall of lawn decorations. “Oh, now I can't wait for December. We're definitely getting plastic reindeer for the yard. And lights. So many lights.”
With a huff, Levi raises an eyebrow, looking intrigued despite himself. “Why are you so excited, anyways?”
“This is our first year with a house! We're going to have trick-or-treaters! I've never gotten to hand out candy before!” Your enthusiasm is palpable as you share your excitement with him. “All the little kids in the neighborhood are going to come up to our door! I want it to be fun and exciting for them, ya know? It was always nice seeing houses that went all out when I was little. Ooh, we should carve pumpkins too!”
Levi lets out a soft chuckle, his resistance melting in the face of your enthusiasm. “Fine, but we aren't getting any of the fake spider web stuff. I've heard that it kills birds.”
You nod thoughtfully. “Hmm, that's a good point. How about we go for something a little different, like a little graveyard theme? With tombstones and skeletons? Maybe even a smoke machine for added effect?” With a twinkle in your eye, you grab a large stack of the fake tombstones along with a severed arm decoration.
Levi shakes his head in amusement, clearly caught up in your energy. “You're really going all in, huh?”
“Absolutely!” you declare with a grin, reveling in the prospect of creating a memorable Halloween experience for the neighborhood kids and embracing the joys of your first year in your own house. “Oooh we should get a big bag of candy too while we're here! The big-ass chocolate bars! I want to be that house.”
“The dentist down the road is going to hate us,” Levi snorts, eyes sparkling at your enthusiasm.
“Or love us,” you reply with a smirk. As you continue to explore the decorations aisle, your excitement is contagious, drawing Levi into the plans and turning what was once a simple shopping trip into an adventure filled with anticipation and shared enthusiasm.
More and more decorations join the pile in the cart, Levi even adding a few himself, to the point that it starts to get heavy, and Levi wordlessly takes over pushing it, his silent gesture of chivalry not escaping your notice. Hanging ghosts for the tree in the front yard, a giant fuzzy spider to hang in the front window, a big spooky electronic grim reaper. You have to fight smiling as Levi quietly adds a skeleton hand-sanitizer hip-clip and a spooky ghost cat mug to the pile.
“This all sounds like a lot of work..” Stopping mid-sentence, Levi scowls up at the rack of larger decorations. “Why the fuck is there a twelve-foot-tall skeleton?”
“Why not?” You add the towering skeleton to your cart, laughing lightly at the way its legs hang awkwardly over the edge. “I bet we could scare the shit out of Hange by stuffing it in a closet.”
“They’d just want to borrow it for something,” Levi grumbles, but there’s a hint of amusement in his tone. The comment makes you chuckle, knowing that his coworker often pulls little pranks on him.
“Oh, did you want to do costumes too? Maybe something to match the graveyard?” you ask, your eyes lighting up with anticipation.
“Costumes to hand out candy?” Levi raises an eyebrow, clearly considering the idea. “Fine. Just pick something. Nothing with fake blood though, I hate that shit.”
You let out an excited giggle, delighted by his willingness to participate. “You’re giving me way too much leeway there,” you tease, already envisioning the possibilities for your Halloween costumes. In the back of your head, you start to make plans to come back on your own and pick up a matching pair of costumes to surprise (and horrify) him with.
As the cart begins to overflow, Levi playfully elbows you to get your attention, a hint of amusement in his eyes. “You know we aren’t here for this, right?” he remarks, his tone light.
“We aren’t?” you turn to him in surprise, your eyebrows lifting in curiosity. “Then why did you lead me to the Halloween section?”
He jerks his head to the side, pointing his chin towards the end of the aisle. “To get a birthday gift for Erwin.”
“What? A skeleton dog?” Your laughter bubbles up, and you can’t resist grabbing a decorative item from the shelf and holding it towards Levi with an exaggerated grin. Its jaw clacks open and closed in response, a quirky feature that makes it both amusing and slightly eerie. “Isn’t it cute?”
Levi shakes his head, his lips quirking into a small smile. “A Halloween Hello-Kitty Squishmallow. They’re getting released today. I think this year’s is a vampire one.”
You burst into laughter at his unexpected choice. “Seriously? Alright, but you do realize those things sell like crazy, right? I think I heard about people fist-fighting over them because of their resale value.”
Levi raises an eyebrow, clearly unfazed. “I know. That’s why I’m here now, before the chaos starts. Erwin’s always wanted one, he’s gone on and on about it several times.”
“Fair enough.” You push the cart along with a playful grin. “Shopping first thing in the morning isn’t too unusual for you though… Decorations and a birthday gift – Two birds, one stone. I don’t see any Squishmallows though?”
“Connie said that they’re bringing the pallet out-” Levi pulls out his phone to check the time “- in about 10 minutes.”
“Connie works here now?” you ask in surprise.
“Part-time. Shit, other people must’ve heard about the release.” Just as he says that, you notice a growing crowd of anxious shoppers gathering around the main aisle.
As you both watch, the anticipation in the air is palpable. You exchange a glance with Levi, and without a word, you decide to position yourselves at the edge of the crowd, ready to grab the coveted Squishmallow as soon as it’s available. “Ready to fight if you are,” you smirk at him.
Levi chuckles, a hint of amusement in his eyes. “Oh, I’m ready. But let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. It’d be a pain in the ass to get blood out of this shirt.”
The moment you hear the pallet pulling around the corner, the metal jack rattling loudly, the entire crowd tenses. It's as if you're in the midst of a group of wild animals, their excitement palpable as they rev up and prepare to pounce on their coveted prey. Adrenaline roars loudly in your ears as you feel yourself tense up, mirroring their fervor.
What follows is nothing short of utter chaos. People scream, scramble forward, and claw at each other before the pallet can even be properly positioned. It's like a scene straight out of a zombie movie, with a bunch of wild-eyed 30-something-year-old women mindlessly elbowing each other and spewing insults in their relentless pursuit. By the time you manage to reach the pallet, it's almost empty, with nothing but a handful of plush ghost-strawberries left at the bottom of the box.
Empty-handed, you scan the crowd, your eyes darting around in search of Levi amidst the turmoil. It's a challenge given his shorter stature compared to the rest of the crowd. It isn't until most of the people have dispersed - one woman triumphantly holding a whole armful of plushies - that you finally spot him. He stands empty-handed. “Fuck, you didn't have any luck either?”
He shakes his head, his shoulders slumping in defeat. “That was fucking insane. One of those hags even elbowed me in the chin.”
You notice a pink mark forming along his jawline. “Was it the one that grabbed like 20 of them? I bet she's just going to sell them. Maybe you can find one online?”
“For at least $1000,” Levi sighs, his frustration evident. “I guess I'll just have to-”
A quiet hiss interrupts Levi, coming from around the corner and stopping him mid-sentence. “Psst, hey! Over here!”
“Connie?” you exclaim in surprise as you spot him tucked around the far corner of the store, holding something behind his back. You can’t help but smile as you take in his appearance. “That vest looks good on you. Oh! Are you growing out your hair?”
Connie blushes shyly, reaching up a hand to awkwardly scratch his hair. “Yeah, I’m planning on trying to dye it, so I needed to grow it out a bit. Jean and Sasha have been calling me Fuzz-Ball though.”
“Dye it? What color?” you ask, genuinely intrigued.
“Silver,” he replies eagerly, his eyes lighting up at the thought.
Just as you’re about to continue the conversation, Levi interrupts, his tone carrying a hint of his trademark bluntness. “Shouldn’t you be working, Connie?”
Connie grins mischievously, not missing a beat. “This is technically my fifteen.” But then, Connie’s expression changes, and he becomes more serious. “Oh! I got one of these for you!” From behind his back, he reveals the Vampire Hello Kitty that Levi had mentioned earlier. You hear Levi gasp softly under his breath, clearly taken aback by the unexpected turn of events.
“Here ya’ go, Prof,'' Connie says, handing over the Vampire Hello Kitty plushie with a wide, cheesy grin. “Don’t say anything to anyone, I sort of had to hide it in the back. I could get in trouble.”
Levi takes the plushy from Connie, his usually stern face softening for a moment. “Thanks, Connie. I really appreciate it.” His voice carries genuine gratitude, and it’s evident that this small gesture means more to him than he lets on.
Connie laughs softly, waving as he starts to back away. “No problem. I know they really wanted one.” He winks at you before adding, “Anyways, I should get going. I actually want to sit for some of my break.”
You watch Connie’s hurried departure, a mix of surprise and gratitude filling you. “You told him it was for me?”
Levi’s expression shifts to a more contemplative one as he explains, “I sort of panicked when he caught me looking them up. It was too weird for me to be getting one for another one of his professors.” He gently places the Vampire Hello Kitty plushie on top of the pile of Halloween decorations that have accumulated in your cart. “Didn’t know he was going to go out of his way to grab one.”
Your admiration for Connie’s thoughtful gesture deepens, and you share a knowing look with Levi. “He’s a good kid,” you comment, your voice reflecting your genuine fondness for the teenager.
Levi nods in agreement, his tone softening as he adds, “He slacks off a lot in class, but he always tries when it really matters.”
As the two of you head towards the checkout, you continue the conversation. “I’m surprised he got a job, even part-time. That has to be difficult to manage during college.”
Levi nods in acknowledgment. “Yeah, it’s not easy, but he’s determined. Plus, I think he likes the idea of earning his own money.”
There's surprisingly not much of a line, and the two of you enter the self-checkout area within minutes, maneuvering your cart to one of the larger registers. You and Levi have a well-oiled system: you scan the items and hand them to Levi, who then meticulously and obsessively bags them to his exacting standards.
As you work together, your curiosity gets the better of you, and you lean against the counter, ready to dive into conversation. "I gotta ask, why go through all this effort? I've never really known you to be the gift-giving type."
Levi raises an eyebrow, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. "I give gifts."
You chuckle, recalling some of his unconventional gifts from the past. "Hah, your usual 'gift' is breaking in and cleaning someone's place for them. Didn't you give Erwin a rock once?"
"I was six," Levi retorts with a half-smile, as if that somehow justifies the childhood gesture. "I got you that necklace last year!"
"Yeah, but I'm different," you playfully tease, offering him a knowing smile. "So, spill the beans. What's the reason for all this birthday fuss?"
Levi lets out a soft sigh, his gaze briefly dropping before meeting yours. "You might have noticed... Erwin's been sort of down lately."
"Maybe?" you reply, furrowing your brows as you think back to your most recent interactions with him. "I know he's been working more than usual. He canceled on us the last few times we were going to hang out."
"He's been having a hard time for the past couple of months," Levi explains, his tone gentle, hinting at the depth of his concern for their friend.
“Do you know why?” concern laces your voice as you lean in closer, eager to understand the source of Erwin’s troubles.
Levi nods, his expression solemn, conveying the weight of the situation. "Hange managed to drag it out of him. This birthday he'll be older than his dad was when he- it- it just really hit him hard."
A sense of understanding settles between you as you absorb this information. "Oh," you respond softly, realizing the significance and the emotional weight of this upcoming birthday for Erwin. “Oh- so he's-”
Levi continues, his concern evident. "I think he's sort of dreading it and overworking himself to avoid thinking about it. That's what he always does when he's stressed, cut people off and focus. He's even been skipping our mid-day workouts."
As he lifts up the Hello Kitty plushie and frowns at its giant fuzzy face, you can't help but feel touched by Levi's thoughtfulness. "He's been talking about wanting one of these plushies for so long. I don't know, I thought it might help."
You offer him a warm, supportive smile and reach over to pat his back softly. "You're a good friend. I'm sure he'll love it." Your words carry a sense of reassurance, appreciating the effort Levi has put into making Erwin's birthday special and trying to bring a smile to his face during a difficult time. The tension in Levi’s shoulders eases visibly as he meets your gaze, a soft smile curving his lips.
“I don’t even know how I’m going to wrap this giant thing,” Levi grumbles, his frustration evident as he attempts to stuff the oversized plushie into one of the grey plastic bags. It proves too much for the bag to handle, bursting over the edges and tearing through the plastic along the sides.
You can’t help but chuckle at the sight. “Maybe a gift bag,” you offer with a playful grin. “A big one.”
“Hey, I have an idea,” you suddenly suggest as the two of you continue bagging your Halloween supplies. Levi looks at you with curiosity, his attention piqued. “How about we invite Erwin over for Halloween? He can carve pumpkins with us and hand out candy. It’s a bit after his birthday, and I know he usually spends the holiday alone, handing out candy at his own place, but it might help cheer him up.”
Levi pauses for a moment, considering your proposal. The prospect of spending Halloween with friends and embracing the festive spirit clearly resonates with him. After a thoughtful pause, he nods in agreement. “Yeah, that could work. I’ll talk to him about it.”
Your eyes light up with excitement. “It’ll be great! We can make it a fun and spooky night to remember, it's a Friday night so we could even have a movie marathon after! It might just be what Erwin needs to lift his spirits. I'll be sure to harass him about coming too, so he doesn't cancel like he has been for D&D night.”
"He'll come, I'll even wrangle Hange in if it helps make sure of it," Levi responds, his tone tinged with a touch of apprehension. "Though I don't really want them to make another mess of our house." A visible shudder runs through him as he recalls the chaotic memory.
You can't help but find humor in Levi's horrified expression, and you respond with a playful laugh. "It wasn't that bad," you reassure him, "It made the housewarming party memorable at least. It certainly distracted from my burnt brownies."
Levi's grimace deepens as he recalls the kitchen ceiling incident. "That memory is still a stain on the kitchen ceiling," he grumbles, completing the loading of the final bag, or rather, placing it on top of the already overflowing shopping cart. "Fuck— are we going to be able to fit all of this into the car?"
Your laughter at the comical situation can only be described as explosive, echoing through the store as you both realize the challenge that lies ahead in fitting all your Halloween decorations into the car.

Belated birthday
Characters: Levi Ackerman / Hange Zoe
Wordcount: 1160 approx.
Modern AU / SFW / established relationship / non-binary Hange / swearwords
Tumblr media
Walking back home through the park was not so bad after all, Levi thought to himself. He had been reluctant to Hange's suggestion at first, arguing that the pie would never be baked by tea time.
They had already wasted enough time wandering among the stalls at the farmers' market to purchase some veggies after lunch, he had argued. But of course they could never take 'no' for an answer, could they?
So they had insisted, all puppy eyes and irritating whines, tugging his coat sleeve, begging him between kisses on his cheeks or neck, squeezing his arm between theirs.
And obviously they had pestered the shit out of him until he gave in, frowning in annoyance and rubbing his temples as he felt the headache coming.
When he thought about it, Hange’s beaming smile had been worth the relinquishment, lighting up their face and making his heart melt in the process. And strolling through the park together arm in arm only added to the warmth that started to spread in his chest, reviving the memory of their first date one fall years ago.
Rays of pale sunlight played through the russet foliage, piercing the light mist. A swift gust raised a whirlwind of fallen leaves every once in a while, scattering them across the path. Levi took a deep breath, taking in the relaxing quietness of early Saturday afternoon, relishing in the sweet undergrowth smell of the earth.
The crisp autumn air stung his ears and the tip of his nose but Levi couldn't care less, not when he felt the gentle touch of Hange's warm body pressed against his side as they walked. Not when their eyes sparkled with sheer joy as they babbled about how beautiful the elms and maples were this time of the year. Not when they squeezed his arm as they pointed out a squirrel hopping from branch to branch.
“...and the way their eyes are positioned allows them to see behind them, can you believe it, Shorty?” Hange exclaimed, snapping him off his reverie. “Nature is so fascinating, I’ll never get tired of learning more about it every day of my life!” they enthused.
Every day of my life. The words echoed in Levi’s head and swirled around for a while, leaving a sweet sensation in their wake. He turned to Hange, smiling softly as his gaze wandered over their handsome face. He slowed his steps, gently holding them back and pulled them into him.
They giggled and slid an arm around his neck when he leaned in to kiss them on the lips, a brief and chaste kiss, something featherlight and heartfelt, his eyes fluttering shut for a few seconds. He was caught in the moment, oblivious to the affection he displayed in public, but it felt so right his heart swelled with fondness in his chest.
Snapping out of his trance, he slipped his hand in Hange's, intertwining their fingers, and resumed walking.
“Come on, Four-Eyes, let’s get home before we freeze our asses off!” He blurted out.
Tumblr media
Levi was glad they could finally mark Hange’s birthday. Nothing too fancy though, just their friends coming over for tea and apple pie, an opportunity to catch up on each other’s lives, a chance to share a good moment of friendship and show how much they all loved Hange.
Their last project at work had kept them busier than usual, delaying the celebration for weeks. This week-end was the first one in months for them to enjoy free time so, before getting to cook, Levi had insisted Hange settled comfortably on the couch with a soft blanket and the book they bought before coming back home.
Lulled by Hange’s blabbering, Levi had prepared and baked the pie in no time, letting his mind wander to his bedside table. Levi smiled. There, in the drawer, Hange’s birthday gift was nestled between neatly ironed handkerchiefs and a box of mints.
He had bought it on an impulse months ago, his gaze drawn to it as he walked past the store window. It reminded him of the golden amber hue of their eyes, those eyes which held the most beautiful shades of fall, those eyes so entrancing and expressive he could never get tired drowning into.
A slight blush of anticipation crept up his face as he thought about how surprised Hange and their closest friends would be. He imagined their fingers feverishly tearing the pumpkin patterned paper. He imagined them gasping as they opened the small box. He imagined them beaming as they lifted their head to look at him. And the butterflies fluttered in his chest.
“Oh my, it smells so good, Levi!” Hange exclaimed in a cheerful tone as he took the pastry out of the oven, a sweet aroma wafting from the kitchen. “Can I have a teeny-tiny slice, please?” they begged.
“Hell no, Four-Eyes!” he replied without turning back, sliding the cake onto a plate. “It’ll ruin the whole damn pie before anyone can see it!”
“But it’s for my birthday!” they whined.
“I-said-no!” His tone cut short any retort. “Besides, it’s still too hot, tis gonna burn your tongue and shit!”
“You’re not funny, Shorty,” they pouted.
He rolled his eyes. “Sure, Four-Eyes. If you say so.”
Tumblr media
Shining spoons and a china sugar bowl elegantly set out on the tray next to the floral patterned tea set, the birthday candles placed on the apple-pie, autumn flowers nicely arranged in a vase… Levi let out a sigh of satisfaction. Everything was ready.
He headed to the bedroom for a quick check in the mirror and opened his drawer to take the wrapped box with a trembling hand. He felt weird. Shy and nervous, giddy and thrilled, wobbly and excited, all of these at the same time.
In a few steps, Levi reached the window, opened it to let the bracing autumn air in. He let his eyes wander over the golden foliage of the trees along the street below and took a deep, invigorating breath.
He had been waiting for this moment for months and now was not the time to flinch. Slipping the gift into his pocket, he pulled himself together and walked back to the kitchen to brew a cup of espresso for Hange.
Levi stopped in his tracks as soon as he glanced into the sitting-room. The autumn sun bathed the room in golden light, softly warming its atmosphere and highlighting Hange's handsome features.
They looked comfortable and relaxed, cozily huddled on the couch, their book now neglected in favor of Sawney. The couple’s ginger cat purred and squirmed shamelessly under Hange’s petting. Their voice was gentle and loving as they cooed to the fur ball, a soft smile spreading over their pretty face.
He took in the endearing sight for a while, relishing in this sweet, heartwarming sensation. In this very moment, looking at his beloved Hange, he finally felt like home.

"Daddy."
Levi was kneeling before his five-year-old daughter as he grabbed a coat for her. "Yes, my little flower?"
She sighed. "Witches don't wear coats."
He smiled at her. "Well, your mummy is a witch and she wears them."
She blushed a little. "Mummy's pretty."
"She is and so are you." He hummed a laugh and grabbed a wholly cape coat with a witch hood. "How about this?"
"Yay!"
He chuckled and put it on her. "There we go. My perfect little witch." He winked at her. "Now, do you want your pretty boots or wellies?"
She threw her arms out. "Wellies!"
"You got it."
You walked over with Evan, your two-year-old, in your arms. "Hello, both. How are you?"
Levi smiled up at you. "Hello, beautiful. I was just dressing up your little witch."
You plopped Evan on his little feet and grinned. "Like me! We're matching, my little flower."
Lilly ran over to you and jumped up and down. "A witch like mummy!"
You picked her up and hugged her tightly. "That's right. You excited about going pumpkin picking after our walk?"
She threw her hands up. "Yaaay punkins!"
You kissed the side of her head. "Let's get your little bag."
"It has my wand in."
You went over to the bags hanging up and found Lilly's which was a pink big milk carton. You put her down and handed her the bag. "Here you go."
Levi fixed Evan's coat on for him. "All good little lad?"
Evan nodded. "Yes, daddy."
He stood up and sighed. "All right, let's get going on our walk. What are we hunting this time?"
Evan reached up and took Levi's hand. "Fairies!"
"Perfect."
Lilly hurried over. "Gonks too!"
You took her hand. "You making a deal with them?"
She gazed up at you. "I want to give them a present!"
You smiled softly. "Well, it's a good job I made you a little offering bag. I've put it in my bag."
Levi opened the front door. "Shoes on and let's head out."
Everyone finished getting ready before gathering outside the house. A woodland walk was the first on your list of things to do because your children loved being outside and exploring. Lilly was really into witch things, so any chance she could get out into the woods she took it. Evan just loved seeing animals and flowers.
You watched Lilly hurry ahead on the woodland path. "Don't run too far sweetheart."
Lilly slowed down. "Sorry mummy!"
Levi reached over and rubbed your back. "She'll be okay."
You hummed. "She might slip."
Levi flinched. "You're right." He let Evan go and ran over to Lilly as she got too close to the river. "Lilly!"
Evan stared at Levi before squealing with laughter. "Daddy's funny."
You took his hand and giggled. "He is, isn't he?"
Levi slowed down next to Lilly. "Careful of the water, okay? See this bit here? The moss? It's slippery here so you have to be careful."
She smiled at Levi. "Sorry daddy, I'll be careful."
"It's okay. Good girl. Hold my hand, okay?"
"Yes, Daddy!" She held his hand tightly and walked along with him. She tapped her wellies in the water and giggled. "Daddy?"
"Mm?"
"Do you think the Gonks will like me?"
He smiled at his daughter. "Of course. You are sweet and adorable. They will think you are the best."
A cute blush spread over her cheeks. "Wooow."
He squatted behind his daughter and hugged her close. "Can you see the fish?"
Lilly watched the water and gasped in delight when she saw the tiny fish moving around. "Cute!"
"They're coming to say hello. They're kissing your lovely wellies."
She giggled. "They're the best!"
Evan stomped his little feet as he walked along. He came to a stop and turned to you. "Mummy?"
You followed him. "Yes, little man?"
Evan pointed at a ring of mushrooms around a tree. "Fairies."
You gently moved him back from the ring. "Be careful. Remember what I told you about fairies."
He nodded. "Bad. They are naughty."
You played with his raven hair and admired him, he was just like Levi in looks. "That's right. We can look but not go near."
He waved. "Hi, fairies. Be good!"
You hummed a laugh. "You told them! Come on, let's go see your sister."
Evan gasped and started running to his older sister. "Lillyyyyy!"
You couldn't help but giggle when he ran over in his big puffy coat over to Lilly. "Cute."
Levi caught his son and stopped him from falling over. "Hold hands with your sister, okay?"
Lilly grabbed Evan's hand. "I'll look after you!"
Levi got up and walked over to you. "And I'll look after you."
You squeaked in delight as Levi pulled you close and nibbled your neck. "Levi."
He smirked when the kids giggled. He pulled back a bit and kissed you. "Come on, we have to give an offering to the gonks." He held you close. "Lead the way kids, but be careful, okay? No running."
You leaned against Levi as you walked with him. Both of you watched your children closely as they walked along the path. Your kids would walk a bit before waiting if they hurried too far ahead. It wasn't too cold yet, but Levi had wrapped them both up a lot to protect them from any cold.
Lilly came to a stop. "Mummy? Gonks!"
You opened your purse and pulled out a bag with little offerings. "Got the offerings." You crouched next to her and saw the stone slab with little offerings on it, candles, letters and a cute stone home. "All right, come here my little flower."
Lilly cuddled up to you and took out a few things in the bag. "Enjoy the food and drink we give you, lovely Gonks! Look after us."
You put some things down. "Look after us." You stood up and smiled. "I think we should go pick our pumpkins out now. Right Levi?"
Levi nodded. "Ready." He heard Evan make a noise. "What's wrong little man?"
Evan gazed at Levi and looked tired, before pulling a sad face, then a silent crying face and finally he started crying a little. "Tired."
Levi picked up Evan. "Oh dear. I've got you. You rest your little legs, okay?" He rubbed Evan's back. "You rest, let me carry you."
Lilly held your hand. "I'll hold onto you, mummy."
You smiled at how sweet your daughter was. "Thank you."
Levi led the way on the path until he reached the farm with all the pumpkins in. Levi smiled and waved at people as they greeted him. Being the sheriff of the town meant he was rather popular, especially with the ladies and elderly. He was strong, kind, dedicated and now he was a dad he had that extra softness to him.
Lilly bounced up and down. "Yaaay! Punkins!"
You released her hand and let her run a bit. "Stay close!" This town was incredibly safe for children and people, but your babies were precious to you and you worried. "Bless her."
Lilly picked up a funky-looking pumpkin and held it above her head. "Mummy! Look at this one!"
Levi handed you Evan. "I'll go stop her before she drops it on her head."
You adjusted your son. "You tired?"
Evan nodded and snuggled against you. "Tired."
"Bless you. We'll get you some yummy hot chocolate and a doughnut."
He nodded. "Thank you, mummy."
You joined Levi and Lilly to see he was holding a few pumpkins. "Levi? We don't need that many."
Levi whined. "But Lilly."
You kissed Levi's cheek. "I know, I know, you want to spoil our kids."
"I do." He sighed. "Lilly? My little flower witch? No more pumpkins, okay? Otherwise we'll have a lot of smelly pumpkins when the season is over."
Lilly grinned. "Okay, daddy."
Levi relaxed a moment and felt happy his kids were accepting of nos and reasoning. "Let's pay for these and then we'll get you some hot chocolate and a doughnut."
"Yummy!"
You kissed Levi's shoulder. "Good boy."
Levi perked up and hurried over to the counter to pay. He chatted with the farmer and thanked them for a great event. He put everything in a box to carry and smiled fondly at Lilly as she chatted with the farmer about her cute witch ways.
You waved to the farmer. "Thank you again. All right little ones, time for that hot chocolate and doughnut."
Levi led them to a little cosy part of the farm and sat Lilly on his lap. He ordered drinks for everyone and a nice freshly made doughnut coated in granulated sugar. "Mm, this is the best."
You tore up Evan's doughnut and fed it to him. "It's perfect."
Evan hummed in happiness. "Yummy."
Lilly grinned in delight. "Thank you, mummy and daddy."
Levi kissed her cheek. "You're welcome."

New beginnings (Levi Ackerman x Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My entry into the Harvest Moon Collab is finally here! Hope you’ll like what I came up with @postwarlevi. The last time I posted a fic was sometime in July and since then I had the worst writer's block ever. So getting this done felt more than amazing, even though it was pretty challenging.
Word count: 1 980
Disclaimer: english is not my first language, I apologize in advance for any mistakes
Summary: You and Levi become the new owners of a property that looks like straight out of the most magical autumn dream… or nightmare?
Tumblr media
New beginnings
„So... this is all ours now, right?“ Levi asked when the two of you walked out onto the biggest balcony of your new home. A charming and magical-looking Victorian house in the countryside, which was now yours. The mid-October afternoon was a little cold due to the wind, which was rustling the colorful leaves on all of the trees around the house. All around the house, there were smaller or larger hills, almost perfectly colored in all the most beautiful shades of autumn. „Everything.“
You nodded and held onto his hand a bit tighter, gently running one of your fingers over his gold wedding band. It was truly unbelievable. This place was near and dear to your heart since childhood, but actually owning it felt surreal. You didn’t expect it for another couple of years. However, your grandparent decided to live out their retirement off the land – literally. Only a month ago, they left for a luxurious cruise around the world.
A few days before that, they called you and Levi here and handed you the official papers which made the two of you the new owners of this place. And the reality of that still hasn’t sunk in.
„Everything you see,“ you said in a quiet voice and rested your head against Levi’s.
„What the hell are we going to do with such a huge house?“
„You’ll have fun cleaning it,“ you laughed and kissed his cheek. „And who knows, maybe it won’t be this empty for long.“
Levi furrowed his brows and looked at you. „Something you want to tell me?“
„No, no, no. I’m not pregnant, yet,“ you reassured him with a playful laugh and gently pulled him in the direction of the old stone stairs.
The house was almost a hundred years old but in exceptionally good shape. No major renovations were needed, at least not right away. The roof was almost brand new and the three-story building with stone walls seemed as if it was built not more than maybe a decade ago. Every inch of this place breathed with history – the tall arch-top windows, stone balconies, and stairs, or a little tower that was home to your grandfather’s personal library.
„I’m not sure about this whole place,“ Levi said as the two of you, hand in hand, made your way through the backyard with a huge marble fountain.
When you went up to the fence and looked down into the valley, you could see the town’s graveyard spreading out there in a thin layer of fog. It looked just as mysterious as you remembered it. When you were little, it scared the living hell out of you all the time. And even now you could feel shivers run down your back when you glanced in that direction.
„We just have to get used to it,“ you said finally and looked away, forcing yourself to focus on different, much better things. „We’ll do something about the house, decorate it a little to our liking. It’s up to us to make this place feel like home.“
„Can you even make such a huge place feel warm and cozy?“ Levi asked skeptically, looking back to the house over his shoulder.
Coming to live here meant a couple of things – both of you had to quit your current jobs in the city. None of you were willing to drive for almost three hours there and three hours back every single day. Many big changes were happening in your lives but it seemed that everything was turning out more than well. You happened to find a perfect place in the nearby town where Levi was planning to open his tea shop. It has been his dream for as long as you could remember and now it was finally about to come true.
„We don’t need to rush anything, darling. We’ll move in properly and slowly start changing things we don’t like the way they are now,“ you assured him, leading the way to the big open space behind the house and the garden.
This was your favorite thing about the whole property – the apple orchard, pumpkin patch, and fruit and vegetable garden. When you were little, many hours of every day were spent here. With your grandparents or even alone, just walking around, reading a book, or drawing something in one of your notebooks.
„I used to spend so much time here and I’m excited to have that back. To come here whenever I want and just relax,“ you said dreamily.
„We’ll have a ton of work with the tea shop opening, having a quiet place to recharge is important.“ He leaned over and kissed your temple, squeezing your hand a little tighter. „I already started thinking about a couple of things. But there’s just so much more to do. It’s a bit scary, isn’t it?“
You nodded and opened a little white wooden gate that finally let you enter the apple orchard in front of the property. The pumpkin patch was on the left behind it, and the vegetable and fruit garden was on the right.
„It is but not fulfilling your dreams is even more scarier. And don’t forget that you’re not alone,“ you reminded him and brushed your thumb over his knuckles.
As you were about to say something else a quiet rustling in a tall pile of leaves was heard to your right. When you and Levi looked over there a black cat lazily snuck out and stretched its back. You both stopped and waited for what the cat would do next, not wanting to scare it away.
„You always wanted a black cat,“ Levi said in a quiet voice and let go of your hand. You watched him crouch down and get closer to the cat. „Maybe it will stick around here.“
You nodded with a smile and got a little closer as well. „You wouldn’t let it inside the house.“
Levi shrugged with a tiny smirk. And you knew that something like this could mean absolutely anything. From truly not letting any pets into the house, to having a ton of them over time. It was better to let it unfold naturally and not force anything on him.
While Levi reached out his hand and petted the cat’s head gently, you looked around with a smile on your lips. This place felt like home your entire life. And now it was truly yours. All the apple trees you could see were now yours, all the varieties your grandmother planted many years ago – Red Delicious, Gala, Fuji, Granny Smith, Golden Delicious, Cripps Pink, Honeycrisp, Braeburn, Empire and a couple more. These apple orchards made your grandparents a nice amount of money every single year. Their delicious taste charmed everyone who tried them.
„You okay?“ Levi asked after a moment, still scratching the cat’s head.
„Yeah,“ you smiled at him and stood up once again.
Levi followed your lead and grabbed your hand again, both of you heading down the orchard in the direction of the pumpkin patch. The little black cat decided to join you, walking alongside Levi with its head held high.
You told Levi about all the different kinds of apples, while the chilly wind was rustling the leaves of all the apple trees around you. The sun was hanging low on the sky and ready to dive under the horizon, drowning your surroundings in warm gold and orange hues. The air was getting noticeably colder by the minute.
„How many kinds of pumpkins are there?“ Levi asked while the two of you walked among them, your new cat friend following behind.
„Ten or twelve, I’m not so sure right now. There were almost twenty when I was little and grandma was younger. She loved having as many varieties of everything as possible.“
Ambercup Squash, Autumn Gold Pumpkins, Baby Boo Pumpkins, Blue Prince Pumpkins, Carnival Squash, Jack-O-Lantern Pumpkins, Hokkaido pumpkins and a couple more as well. Just like with the apples, your grandmother wanted to have as many pumpkins as possible – orange, white, green, yellow, or even slightly red. For her own satisfaction and also for another source of income. Not that your grandfather didn’t make more than enough money or had a pretty huge heritage. Your grandmother simply always liked doing her own little things that made her happy – if it provided money, it made her even happier, as she used to say.
„I should send grandma a couple of photos. She always liked how the orchards and the whole place looked during autumn. All those pretty colors, cozy atmosphere, and everything.“
„Good thing that they keep up with the modern world and know how to use all the electronics,“ Levi said, his eyes scanning the pumpkin patch and all the different pumpkins. „It feels so different here now.“
„What do you mean?“
„When we were here in the past it was...“ he shrugged and looked back at you, trying to find the right words. „It felt like a nice little trip. An escape from our shitty work like in the city. Now it feels kind of homey and it gives off that feeling of responsibility.“
„Yeah, now it will be up to us to keep this place looking like this.“
Hand in hand and with the black cat in tow, you took a quick look at the vegetables and fruits and then decided to make your way back to the house. The very last rays of sunshine illuminated your way, bathing the property and the house in the most beautiful color of gold.
The crips evening air made you shiver slightly. „Autumn finally came in all its glory, the evenings, nights, and mornings are really getting harsh and cold,“ you said as Levi wrapped one of his arms around your shoulders.
„And you still love it.“
„I do, this is my favorite season for many reasons, just look around us.“
You both did. Taking in all the different shades of yellow, orange, red, green, and brown was a perfect way to end this long and tiring day. All the trees and bushes were rustling in the wind, making it seem as if you weren’t alone.
„What about the cat?“ you asked, looking at your new four-pawed friend who was still walking beside Levi. „We can’t leave it outside, the night will be cold.“
Levi rolled his eyes but didn’t say anything. Only leaned closer and met your lips in a sweet long kiss full of the purest love one can imagine. „You always know how to get your way, don’t you?“ With a tiny smile, his lips gently pressed to your temple, while he brushed the tip of his nose over your cheek, making you close your eyes for a second and sigh contently. You loved this man more than words would ever be able to describe. He truly was your everything – your past, present, and future.
His arm stayed around your shoulders while you made your way across the garden. You turned your head at the last possible moment and took a quick glance at the graveyard. Now, a much thicker fog was covering it almost perfectly. If you didn’t know it was there, you wouldn’t really know what you were looking at. Only a couple of gravestones were sticking out from the milky white fog, making the whole scene seem eerie and chilling.
„Stop looking, you’ll see something you’ll regret,“ Levi said, his hand traveling up to the back of your head and turning it away from the graveyard.
„So you do believe in ghosts?“ you joked and shoved him into the ribs playfully.
When Levi didn’t answer, you risked one last look over your shoulder before you went up the stairs. It only took a glimpse of a second – a figure stepping out from the fog amongst the gravestones and lifting its hand, waving at you.

Levi x GN!Reader
a/n: My entry for @postwarlevi 's Harvest Moon AOT Collab!! I've never written something this short, but I wanted just a cute little ficlet about pumpkin picking! Enjoy <3
contains: Levi x gn!reader, established relationship, modern au, pumpkin picking, use of pet names (baby)
Tumblr media
“Come on, Levi!” They yelled out into the cold air, watching as their breath formed fog around them. “Hurry up so we can go find a pumpkin.” They were fast on their feet, racing through the cars to get to the edge of the pumpkin patch before looking behind them. Levi was trailing behind them, looking dashing in a dark green turtleneck, jeans, and a trench coat that had the collar turned up.
For a second, their breath caught in their throat looking at their boyfriend, and they smiled at him softly. He gave a soft tch under his breath before he caught up, sliding his hand into theirs. They squeezed his hand tightly, grinning at him before dragging him through the crowds.
The crowds were out in full force today, it being the first day of Fall and the perfect weather for pumpkin picking as well. People were going every which way, some already had their pumpkins while others were simply walking around with coffee or hot chocolate in their hand. Entire families held hands as they wandered the patch, pointing out potential pumpkins that looked like they might be good for carving.
It was all so exciting, and it was the first time Levi and his partner were going to one together. They pulled Levi over to the big chair that sat at the front entrance of the place, citing that they wanted a picture taken. When they were in the process of taking a selfie, Levi’s arm wrapped around their waist, a stranger stopped and asked if they wanted a picture taken.
“Oh, thank you so much!” They exclaimed, handing over their phone before posing with their hand on Levi’s chest. He turned to them, looking at them with soft eyes while they smiled for the camera. The picture came out wonderfully, and they both thanked the stranger before moving on.
Now, wandering through the pumpkin patch, Levi held his partner’s hand, eyes focused as he eyed each pumpkin carefully. He was very particular in which pumpkin they’d end up picking out, wanting to find the perfect one for his partner.
They finally came upon a perfect pumpkin, and Levi took the time to check it out for any bumps or soft spots. When he found none, he nodded his approval. They took it from him immediately, holding it high over their heads as they trudged back to the main house.
“We found a pumpkin!” They sang loudly, dancing a little. Levi coughed, slightly embarrassed at his partner's antics but finding it cute nonetheless. The pair made it back to the main house, paying for the pumpkin before heading back to their car.
As Levi drove home, they sat in the passenger seat with the pumpkin in their lap. Their hand was in Levi’s, squeezing on beat with the music that was playing softly. “I can’t wait to carve this up.” They whispered excitedly, rubbing a hand over the pumpkin’s surface.
“We’re washing it first.” Levi stated, glancing down and eyeing the way dirt crumbled off the edge of the pumpkin. “Sure, baby.” They said happily, leaning over to plant a kiss on his cheek. He gave them a small smile in response, watching the road as he squeezed their hand softly. They headed home, intent on cleaning out the pumpkin and carving it up tonight.

It was a month after me and Levi started dating. It was a little weird, like everytime I hear him walk into the door after work, I call out my dead ex husband name then I would start crying. But he tells me that he understands and he's not mad. Which would end up with us "making things up." to each other.
This was one of these days. The morning after a night of being tangled into each other, I rolled out of bed my back and arms a little sore. As I was making my way into the bathroom I hear some movement from the bed. "Why are you up so early?" Levi asked me sitting up with his back resting on the headboard. "Silly did you forget, we have to get the turkey ready for Thanksgiving today." He raised an eyebrow. He looked over at the clock on the nightstand "It's on 5 love do you really need to start now? Come back to bed, get another hour at least." I stood in the doorway for a few minutes thinking over all the work that needs to be done. "But what about-" he put his hand up to stop me. "It's going to be okay. Really now get back in bed and rest a bit longer." With that I got in bed putting my head on his chest. Listening to his steady heartbeat pulled me back into a sleep that I didn't think I really needed.
The smell of cooking meat was what pulled me from my sleep. 'What time is it?' Thinking to myself as I rolled over to look at the clock. 12:00 pm. "CRAP!" I yelled at I jumped out of bed and put on my housework clothes. I hurried down to the kitchen to see what needed to be done. "Levi I'm so sorry-" I voice was stopped but the sight in front of me. There in my kitchen was Levi, Erwin, Armin, and a few others from the precinct helping me out with dinner. "Mommy look all of daddy's friends came to help us out." My daughter ran up to me grabbing my hand. She pulled on it a bit trying to get me to bend down. I lowered myself to her level. She whispered to me. "Levi even barked an apple pie." She giggled as she ran off to play with her brother. Looking around as I stood up taking in everyone helping out, made tears come to my eyes. Levi seeing me about to cry, rushes over to me pulling me aside. He pulls you into a hug. "It's okay I got you." He kisses the top of your head. "Thank you for this." You look up at him. He takes his thumb wiping away the tears from your cheeks. You give him a sweet smile "Happy Thanksgiving Levi."

Hange’s Plan for fun
A/N: This is part of the Harvest Moon AOT Collab
Description: Hange has the idea to give the teens a little bit of Fall fun. Modern!AU
Taglist: @postwarlevi
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Hange, why did you have to have this idea?” Levi pinched the bridge of his nose as the teens argued in the back about who was going to pick the most apples.
“Because they need something fun. Plus I’m hoping it gets that stick out of your-,”
“Hey are we almost there?” Armin asked from the backseat, wrapping a hand on Hange’s headrest, as they were the one driving, much to Levi’s dismay earlier.
“Why are you driving? Do the words depth perception mean nothing to you?” Levi had asked, to which Hange had laughed.
“At least I’m tall enough that my feet reach the pedals,” which got all the recruits laughing hysterically before they piled into the Subaru Ascent.
“I still think I should’ve drove,” Levi grumbled.
“Levi, you’ve never been here. It’s a newer place and I only found this last year by accident,”
“How would you know if I’ve been here or not?”
“Because you almost never do anything fun,”
“Yes I do!”
“Spending time with Y/N doesn’t count,”
“I think it’ll be fun,” Armin piped up, his hand still on Hange’s headrest.
“Do they have food?” Connie asked and Mikasa snapped a look at him.
“Of course they have food. It’s an apple orchard,” Mikasa snapped, tired of the arguing from the backseat. Mainly the arguing was with Eren and Jean, typical.
“Fresh picked apples,” Sasha smiled, a little dribble of drool collecting at the corner of her mouth.
“Store apples just don’t taste the same,” she sighed and Mikasa nodded.
“Alright we are almost there. Ground rules,” Hange looked in the rear view mirror to see Eren and Jean arguing again, and the look on Mikasa’s face looked like she wanted to punch both of them in the jaw to shut them up.
“Hey!” Levi raised his voice at the teens and they all quieted down in an instant.
“Thank you Levi, now ground rules. No eating apples that you didn’t pick. Also no teasing the animals. No fighting while we’re there, And most importantly, no food fights,” Hange explained.
“Can we just duct tape Eren and Jean’s mouths shut?” Connie asked and Hange laughed and then thought about it.
“They probably have apple or pumpkin themed duct tape, so maybe,”
“You wanna wipe that scowl off your face handsome?” A voice cut through the din of small squealing children, excited to be at the orchard. Levi’s eyes snapped to see his girlfriend stepping out of her car.
“Y/N!” Levi gave a rare smile, to which the cadets looked on with shocked faces. The only expressions they’d seen on Levi’s face was either blank or a scowl.
“You really think I wanted you being all sour and cranky? As if!” Hange smirked, but Levi had ignored them, instead jogging to wrap his girlfriend in his arms.
“Who knew Levi had a girlfriend?” Jean asked and then Eren snickered.
“Or the fact that she’s a head taller than him,” Eren laughed, to which Mikasa smacked him upside the head.
“Do you want him to get cranky?” She asked.
“Look at you! When did you go shopping? I’ve never seen these in your closet,” Levi gave Y/N one of his extremely rare carefree smiles.
“Last night when Hange told me the plan to bring the munchkins here. Couldn’t not get all decked out,” Y/N smiled and grabbed Levi’s hand, knowing that hand holding is what he was comfortable with regarding PDA, especially in front of the recruits.
Y/N was decked out with riding boots, ripped jeans with a deep berry flannel tied at her waist and a matching berry red shirt that came to her elbow, and a white scarf wrapped around her neck.
“So these are the recruits,” Y/N smiled, her eyes scanning the teens before her eyes met with Hange’s.
“Hange!” Y/N squealed, running towards one of her friends, arms outstretched.
“Y/N! I’m glad you could make it!” Hange smiled.
“The plan worked,” Y/N whispered in Hange’s ear.
“Y/N I want to take the recruits out to the apple orchard out in the boonies. But I know Levi is going to be a cranky old man, unless you come with,”
“I’m in. Work is finally calmed down where I can take a day off. Just text me the address and I’ll be there,”
“Barely. Surprised that Levi didn’t smack two of them the minute I turned the car on,”
“Eren and Jean I’m guessing,” Y/N laughed. She’d never met them, but from all the stories that Levi told her when he’d tell her about work, that would be her likely guess.
“How’d you know?”
“Just a hunch,” Y/N laughed before turning to the recruits.
“Hey guys! My name is Y/N,” The recruits were taken aback from how opposite Y/N and Levi were.
This has to be a comedic set up. How could Levi, seemingly antisocial and doom and gloom Levi get a girlfriend, let alone one bubbly and social. The recruits seemingly all had the same thoughts, but pushed it aside because Hange had left for a moment and now had everyone’s tickets in their hand.

Under a Harvest Moon
Content: Just under 1100 words of a domestic fluffy evening with any male character you'd like (might be a little Levi coded, just don't squint too hard hehe)
Note: My (first?) official contribution to my Under a Harvest Moon collab and the second of my (late) September prompts winners. Enjoy!
-----------------------
"Afternoon my love!" You skip down the driveway to meet your husband who has come home from work.
He smiles and pulls you into a hug and kiss, holding your waist as you go back inside.
"How was your day?" You ask, taking his coat and hanging it up once in the house.
"Same as always. Missed you lots." He kisses your cheek again, going to the kitchen for a drink.
"I've made dinner already." You pull out your meal from the oven and place it on the stove to show him.
"Mmm, smells delicious." He takes a fork and digs in while it's still in the pan.
"You know what today is?" You ask excitedly, grinning at him.
He pretends to think about it and goes to the calendar. He does know of course, but likes to tease you.
"Hmm, the largest moon of the year perhaps?" He taps the date on the calendar.
"That's right! The harvest moon is tonight!" You exclaim, throwing your arms around him.
You have recently moved to a spot that would be perfect for autumn and have been waiting to celebrate the changing of the seasons.
He chuckles and looks at his watch.
"Well, let's go celebrate then. We'll go up to the hillside and watch it rise."
"Really? That sounds wonderful and cozy!" You already start planning the evening.
"And maybe a little cold." He reminds you to get a blanket as you begin to race around and gather things.
While you leave the kitchen, he begins to scoop servings of the dinner you made into containers to take along with you, along with some waters and snacks, and makes a hot spiced tea to put in a thermos.
It's not long before you have two tote bags full of things for your adventure.
You both change into comfortable clothing, warm and cozy, ready to brace the rising moon.
"Ready to go, my pumpkin?" He asks, patting your head playfully and taking the totes.
You laugh at his playfulness and nod. "Yep! All set!"
It's not too far to the hillside, but walking with the totes might be uncomfortable. However bringing the car doesn't sound right either.
"Say, how about we attach the wagon to the back of the bike and ride up?" He comes up with.
Your eyes light up at the idea and you agree. "That sounds perfect!"
You get your bikes out of the garage and hook the wagon to the back of his and set all your belongs in. Locking up the house you set off for the hillside.
It's a nice scenic route full of trees and flowers getting ready for fall. The pathway leading up makes it easy to maneuver but it gets a little tough near the top.
You both get off your bikes and push your way up to the hill.
"Oh wow!" You smile, tired but happy. It's going to be a beautiful evening.
The sun is just setting and the cooler air is coming in now. You park the bikes on the hill and set out a blanket while your husband gets out your meal.
"Happy fall, beautiful." He kisses your cheek as you make a toast and sip your warm spiced tea, then eat the dinner you had made earlier as the sun finishes setting.
As you both talk about your day and all the things you want to do this weekend, you're joined by a few other couples as dusk comes. They are a respectable distance away so everyone can enjoy their own small party.
You put the light sweater on you were reminded to bring and lay your head on your loves shoulder as darkness falls and only the stars and rising moon, along with distant city lights, provide enough illumination for the evening.
"Here, brought some cakes." He says, pulling sweet, snacky items from the tote.
You grin and take one and munch. "Thank you."
"It's so peaceful out here." He says quietly, enjoying the surrounding environment almost as much as your company.
"I'm so glad we're here." You whisper back, kissing his chin, sighing happily as he pulls you in for a hug.
No words are needed between you. The moon rises higher and you pull out a couple small pillows and lay back, the moonlight soon lighting up the sky and earth just as well and more charming then the lights of the city could. Out here on the open hilltop, even with a few others around you, it makes you feel like the only two people that exist.
"You know, it'll look even brighter in the early morning. Unless you wanna sleep out here, let's head back and get in a few hours. I'll wake you." He tells you, breaking the silence.
You contemplate actually staying out here all night, chuckling when he nudges you to get the thought out of your head. That's hours from now.
"Okay, let's head back." You agree, and stand to pack up your things.
You walk the bikes back down the hill and hop on and turn on a flashlight to help guide you on the pathway back to the house.
Putting the bikes away, you clean everything out of the totes and get cozy in the bed. An alarm is set a few hours from now and in the meantime you fall asleep happy in each others arms.
You're pulled out of sleep just after 530am, yawning and sitting up. You can always take a nap in a little bit.
Putting on robes and fuzzy slippers, you head to the porch with cups of apple cider and are in awe at how bright it is.
It is not only the last supermoon of the year, but the harvest moon of autumn, and even with some of the lights around you, it's still the most brilliant.
"Happy autumn." Your husband pulls you close on the loveseat, kissing your temple.
The moon sets just a bit later and as dawn comes you finish your cider and go inside.
Putting the cups in the sink you turn to him to suggest heading back to bed for a bit and are surprised to see he beat you to it.
You hurry to your room and pull off your robe, laughing as he's already waiting in bed with open arms and a smile of his own.
