I'd like to think Mehmed is thinking the same with regards to her, in this scene.

He gave her the sword. He controls his temper around her. She stabbed him and his response was to admire and kiss her. He promised to not hurt her friends. He kissed her in this scene because otherwise he would probably tell her everything, which he supposedly can't do yet. He's far from perfect but she is his one "weakness".

Lale was undoubtedly under his power in an unbalanced/dangerous way‚ but he is absolutely under her power as well‚ especially now, and I think he's known it for a long long time.

was filling out a dating profile and did a two truths and a lie thing and one of them was that I got a signed copy of the giver for free. which is true, I was 19 and in some random Christian bookstore w my grandma and I remembered reading it in 8th grade and took a copy up to the counter and the guy there looked me over and silently switched my copy w one he'd had tucked away behind the counter and when I was like ??? he was like I've been waiting for the right person to give this to, and you feel like someone who would truly cherish this. and he showed me it was autographed and he didn't charge me and it's been a prized possession ever since. anyway when I put that on the dating app I was like I wonder if it's real and also if this is like. noteworthy or if there's a billion signed ones out there. anyway I just learned it is real and some stranger truly gave me a $250+ book for free bc he liked my vibes.
