I love your sense of humour and have cracked up at your stories multible times. Maby you can find some inspiration in this:
Price ordering the team to an etiquette training so they know how to behave in case they have to go under cover in a more "fancy" environment (or the upcoming mission may require something like this). I'm thinking about Ghosts "sausage fingers" from the origami bit on a delicate litte cake fork... Or him needing to *converse* with someone.
I think putting these hard soldiers in a situation that's out of their comfort zone is always a fun read!

Relationship: TF141 x F!Reader with a potential Simon “Ghost” Riley x F!Reader (platonic?) on the horizon. Also there’s an OC in the story.

Notes: I began writing this last night as a joke, and couldn’t stop. Thank you SO MUCH for inspiring me to do this, anon. It’s a crackfic btw. (There’s a part 2 now here)

The training room feels out of place compared to its usual purpose. Bathed in the soft glow of candlelight, the once-busy gym has been transformed into a classroom for an unlikely lesson—manners, of all things. Table manners, to be precise.
“Talk about Fitness Vs. Finesse,” Soap whispers, and you playfully nudge his side. The comment reaches Gaz’s ears, and he lets out a chuckle. Yet, Price’s death stare reclaims your attention and brings you back to focus.
You all sit around a long, polished mahogany table atop the gym’s boxing ring, admiring the delicate china and crystal glassware set before you. It reminds you of Aunt Claire’s preserved collection, which rarely leaves its cabinet. Lady Theodora, your etiquette instructor, assures you that each piece serves a purpose, and you will put them all to use. Every. Single. One of them.
Lady Theodora, the epitome of timeless confidence, moves gracefully around the table. Her silver hair is slicked back, framing a face that exudes years of wisdom and experience. Her Bordeaux-coloured shawl billows behind her as she glides, catching the gentle breeze her steps create. She pauses behind Price’s chair and reveals the reason behind today’s masterclass: an undercover operation.
“In the world of espionage, where appearances can mean the difference between life and death,” she says in a soft voice, “the art of etiquette becomes a weapon, a shield, and,” she concludes, resting her hand on Price’s shoulder, “your ticket to survival.”
“Bollocks.”
All eyes are drawn to the far end of the table, where a shadowy figure prefers to go unnoticed but isn’t afraid to express doubts. The only visible sign of life is a hand fidgeting with the butterknife.
“I beg your pardon, Lieutenant.” Lady Theodora says, and Ghost leans forward, revealing his unmasked—and visibly annoyed—face.
“We’re soldiers, not knights,” he claims. “Teaching us how to use all these,” he says, motioning to the various utensils before him, “is a waste of time, both yours and mine.”
Lady Theodora regards him gently as if looking at a child throwing a tantrum. She smiles and walks behind him, gripping the back of his chair.
“You seem quite certain of your own competence and doubtful of mine, Mr Riley,” she says, amused.
Ghost tilts his head to the side, partially facing her.
“With all due respect, Lady Theodora,” he replies, “I don’t believe you fully comprehend how such missions operate.”
Lady Theodora lets a light chuckle as she moves closer to Ghost’s face.
“My record of 25 confirmed kills, three of which were accomplished with a butterknife like the one in your hand, might suggest otherwise,” she admits. “Now, would you kindly move your seat forward, Lieutenant? I’ll show you how to act like a proper gentleman.”
Ghost’s Adam’s apple bobbles as he swallows hard. He returns the butterknife to its original position and pushes his chair forward with Lady Theodora’s help.
Gaz clears his throat and looks at Soap.
“Imagine her dinner parties,” he whispers so Price doesn’t hear him, “they must be perfectly executed.”
“Bet she makes a killer soufflé,” Soap whispers back.
You look at them and mutter, “You two are beyond help.” Unfortunately, it’s your own comment that catches Price’s attention this time, and he gives you a stern warning to behave.
“Let’s get started,” Lady Theodora says. “Projecting confidence and grace requires proper posture: sit up straight, shoulders back, and imagine a string pulling you upward from the crown of your head.”
You all adjust your posture, attempting to imitate Lady Theodora. Ghost used to a more relaxed posture, finds it difficult to maintain the required formality. His broad shoulders hunch forward, and he struggles to keep his legs straight.
“Excellent,” Lady Theodora remarks, catching Ghost’s struggle but choosing not to comment further. “Next, we shall delve into the art of dining. Each utensil on the table has a specific purpose, and it is essential to use them correctly.”
She points to the array of utensils laid out before you. Multiple forks, knives, and spoons of various sizes and shapes make the sight overwhelming.
“The outermost utensils are for the earlier courses, while the inner ones are for the later ones.” Lady Theodora says, “It’s like unwrapping a gift, one course at a time.”
You all nod and place the napkin on your lap to begin the process.
Ghost’s ingrained military habits take over when food is served, causing him to devour it quickly. He shovels forkfuls of food into his mouth without looking up and barely pausing to chew.
“Mr Riley,” Lady Theodora addresses Ghost, who shoots his head up to look at her. “I understand the military inclination to eat fast, but we must remember that the food isn’t going anywhere. Take your time, savour each bite, and enjoy your meal, please.”
“Sorry ’bout that.” Ghost mumbles with his mouth full.
Lady Theodora raises an eyebrow. “Mr Riley, it is impolite to speak with your mouth full,” she reminds him. “Please, swallow your food before continuing.”
Ghost swallows and clears his throat. “Apologies, Lady Theodora,” he mutters.
Lady Theodora smiles and nods at Ghost’s response. “Very well, Lieutenant Riley,” she says. “Remember, dining is about more than just the food; it’s also about the company and the experience.”
As the training continues, you witness Soap’s attempts to initiate a proper conversation, only to subconsciously bring up military strategies. Gaz, on the other hand, struggles with small talk and, when asked about his hobbies, blurts out his love of explosions.
“Kerosene is one hell of a—”
“No kerosene talk on the table, Sergeant,” Lady Theodora interrupts. “How about we talk about something more appropriate, like, for example, what did you do today?”
“You’re not going to like it.” He replies.
“Did it involve kerosene?” She asks and receives multiple excited nods from Gaz.
Ghost forgets about his napkin while using the finger bowl and instinctively flicks his hands to dry them. Droplets of water scatter across the table, and Lady Theodora steps forward with a calm smile. She retrieves his napkin and hands it to him. “Remember, Lieutenant,” she whispers, “the napkin is your ally.”
Throughout this ordeal, Price seems to be the only one who already has a natural fluidity in his movements. Like he already knows about etiquette.
You compliment his impeccable manners, but Lady Theodora intervenes before Price can respond.
“Oh, that’s because the Captain already received my services a few years ago,” she reveals, winking.
Price, caught off guard, coughs and sputters, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. After regaining his composure, he clears his throat and grins.
“Yes, well, Lady Theodora’s guidance has been, um, invaluable,” he manages to say and lowers his gaze to his plate. Gaz raises an eyebrow, and Soap gives a sly smile.
With the etiquette training completed, Price gracefully positions his utensils on his plate and folds his napkin. Lady Theodora hands him a file stack, which he distributes to you.
“These files contain detailed background information for your assigned roles,” he explains. “Study them carefully; familiarise yourselves with the personas you will embody, and don’t worry; with Lady Theodora’s help, you’ll have plenty of time to learn how to carry yourselves.”
He watches you all as you take hold of your respective files, scanning the pages and absorbing the details that will shape your performances.
“Gaz, within those pages, you’ll uncover the roadmap to shape your tech persona, along with essential contacts and valuable industry insights,” Price declares.
“A startup entrepreneur,” Gaz mutters and nods, “nice.”
“Soap,” Price continues, “your file contains the lineage and history of an alleged oil tycoon family; you’ll assume the identity of their sole son and heir to the business.”
“Why do I get the oil-moneyed spoiled brat?” Soap protests, “Gaz is the one obsessed with fossil fuel!”
Price looks at Lady Theodora, silently begging her to take the lead.
“Focus on embodying the demeanour of an heir, Sergeant MacTavish,” she comforts Soap. “Acquiring in-depth knowledge of the business is not a top priority now.”
Finally, Price shifts his focus to you and Ghost. His voice softens, and a smile appears on his lips.
“As for the two of you,” he says, “your assignment requires a convincing portrayal of a couple.”
You and Ghost exchange a brief look before returning your focus to the files in your hands.
“Laswell will provide you with a forged marriage certificate and photos of your alleged relationship,” Price continues. “The documents will serve as tangible proof if the need to validate your connection arises.”
“Any chance to let us know who or what we’re after?” Gaz asks, and Price shakes his head.
“Baby steps, Sergeant; we’re waiting for Laswell to give us more intel,” he explains, “but as far as we know, we’re dealing with people who can buy their way out of some very sketchy shit.”
“Language, Captain.” Lady Theodora reminds him.
“Please accept my sincere apologies, Theodora,” he says and turns to Gaz. “I meant sketchy things, Sergeant.”
As they continue discussing the mission, your mind wanders on the latest information. Ghost’s partner? How? You look at the file and then back at Ghost. You see Lady Theodora walking behind Ghost’s chair and leaning close to his ear. She looks at you and whispers to him.
“I told you, Lieutenant,” she says, “I’ll mould you into a proper gentleman.”
Ghost turns to face you as well. “I’m afraid that’s impossible, Lady Theodora,” he replies.
But Lady Theodora smiles and touches his shoulder, “Oh, you’ll see, Mr Riley—you’re my gift to unwrap, one course at a time.”

Kim's Balcony
I haven't decided what it all means yet but I'd like to present some figures on Kim cinematography.
It dawned on me yesterday that the first/last of Kim's scenes both take place on the balcony in his apartment. I wanted to revisit these scenes in order to consider the directorial choices because I suspected there might be some subtext there.
1. The first time we as the audience see Kim he is behind a screen, obscured. He's basically in another room from the viewer with the separation of glass and metal. He stands in daylight but there's no lights on in the apartment. We are not shown his face.

Starting with some face-value observations: scenes taking place on this balcony give the viewer a sense of how high up Kim's apartment is, how it overlooks the city, suggesting wealth, status. This is also his fortress, his safe space. He's physically elevated from the city, suggesting otherness - being "above" or isolated from other people. He's always shown alone in his isolated, other place, or starts off alone to be visited only by house staff. (Almost every Theerapanyakun has a scene like this, if memory serves.) Cities don't always have to represent isolation and power, by any means, but in Kim's case I think they do.
Obscuring him like this is purposeful. He is meant to be obscured narratively. (To the point that on the first watch I thought he was going to rise to the occasion of "main villain.") His blurring protects a thread of crucial reverse dramatic irony - because Kim knows way more than all of us for, like, most of the show.
2. But in his last scene he is no longer obscured:

We see him more clearly, both literally and narratively. His motivations were made clear and now they have completely shifted. The screen that previously made him unclear is just out of focus on the edge of this shot.

3. And then we see him even closer in his video for Chay. The camera just keeps zooming in on his framing, scene for scene. (When Chay watches Kim's video he is also set against the city, btw, in similar isolated conditions. Hmmmm. So close yet so far in their impasse.)

4. This extended shot after he sends the video does not really add to my meta but it's really a long shot of him looking emo and holding the guitar. I am curious as to whyyy he is always set against the context of the city in these shots? What is the significance there? To remind us his family owns the city?

5. ....???!!!!?!?!?!!? Kim walks out of frame. I'm sure he needs to go pour a shot after being so vulnerable with Chay, but narratively, narrativelyyyyyy... He's abandoned his post! This was the place he started, and he no longer needs (or maybe even wants) to put himself in that position. HmmmMMMMMMMMM.

Zuko's character arc is not lost it's clickbait
*Tired sigh* EarlyGame released an article saying "Zuko's character arc is lost!" in the live action and have said that Zuko's character motivation has shifted from chasing Aang to restore his honor to now chasing Aang to help the FN win the war. They use the short promo clip of Dallas Liu's Zuko writing a letter/journal about the Avatar to say that, especially when he says the line "it is my duty to capture the Avatar".
First of all, I read the article, because I got concerned too. Honor is a large pat of his motivation, we also got a trailer clip of Zuko telling Aang "You are the enemy of the Fire Nation!". We know Zuko didn't hunt Aang for the war.
Except.
New audiences do not know that Zuko's chasing Aang for his honor. The first premise we as an audience knew when we watched the cartoon was this;
Fire Nation is taking over the world
Aang is the only one who can stop them
The Fire Prince is chasing Aang and getting in his way
When we are introduced to Zuko, Sokka talks about invaders and spies from the Fire Nation. Zuko then attacks the village and destroys Sokka's wall with his ship and fights him. From all of this, we get the impression that Zuko's here with animosity towards SWT along with the goal to capture the avatar for the FN.
We, the OG viewers, did NOT know Zuko was doing this as a necessity due to his banishment until The Storm, halfway through the series. We thought he's just in competition with Zhao and being an asshole FN Prince. It was a huge twist and a spoiler that contributed heavily to us sympathizing with Zuko when we learned the real reason.
The Live Action isn't just for the original fans, it's for everyone. What is blatantly obvious to us is not for those who are going to watch it with brand new eyes. Zuko doing this due to his banishment is a surprise and they're 100% trying to maintain it for the live action too.
Zuko's arc of honor is also impossible to be removed btw, because we SEE clips of Ozai attacking Zuko, Zhao is still his competition. These characters and incidents are the bedrock of establishing the 'honor' motivation so no it's not gone.
In addition, it makes sense for Zuko to at least tell other people that he's trying to capture Aang for the Fire Nation. In the og series he didn't give a shit about the war, which makes sense, but Zuko is a Prince, an heir to the throne. He would've been deep in the propaganda. It's like;
Father wants to win the war -> Father has banished me-> The Avatar is a huge obstacle in the way of the war -> He has assigned me the task of capturing the Avatar -> I AM important to the war! -> So war= avatar's capture= me being vital -> The war and capturing the avatar, an honor mission, become one and the same.
If Zuko frames his mission as serving the Fire Nation, despite his banishment, he can think himself as still being a part of the royal family.
Nothing has drastically changed, I honestly think it's a good addition to include Zuko's thoughts on the war itself because of course the PRINCE of the FIRE NATION would have an opinion on the war. It is impossible for him to not think the Fire Nation is deserving of their victories.
Literally every single time I've seen people freak out over things, it's over a clickbait title, the article writers badly misinterpreting things, or people going into this convinced that the Live Action is bad. A conclusion has been made, and people are desperately searching for evidence even if it's false.

Barbie's plan is in motion, and it seems like everything is going perfectly. Dolls are getting un-brainwashed left and right, including you. The moment you snap out of your trance and look down to see the incredibly small pink skirt and lace top dawning on your body, you can’t ever believe you agreed to wear that when Beach Ken gave it to you from Stereotypical Barbie’s wardrobe.
Ken. The one who started this mess. The one had you serving brewski beers and listening to long explanations on stuff you pretended to care about. A certain emotion pooled in your would-be stomach.
The Ken you used to watch pine after Barbie so deeply, the one that you always tried to console when Barbie rejected his advances. Now he’s taken over her house; well, Barbieland in general. How could he?
As Stereotypical Barbie hugs and welcomes you back as you leave the van, a thought pipes in your head. Maybe he’s doing this because Barbie doesn’t want him. She was so headstrong, front and center in every party she hosted, her smile iconic in every way imaginable. And Ken… was always on the side. Whenever he danced with you at her parties, his eyes were glued to her.
It hits you, he thinks this will work. That maybe she’ll turn around and jump into his arms once she notices what a big, strong, man he is. It won’t work and you know. But, he doesn’t. 
A Barbie fills you in on what they’re doing, and how they want you to distract Beach Ken as long as possible while they round up more Barbies to un-brainwash them. Telling you how it’s perfect since he had you around a lot and he’ll be none the wiser to realize everything that’s happening.

“Hi, Ken!” You exclaimed as he let you into his dojo mojo casa house. “Hi, (Y/N)!” A smile framed his face once he saw you. The artificial-looking moon hovered in the sky as a quiet hum surrounded you in the empty neighborhood.
“I was looking for you, how come you aren’t with everyone at the bonfire on the beach?” His face seemed to drop but he didn’t let go of his macho persona. “Wasn’t feelin’ it. Rather…” He thought for a second, “Watch horses. Y’know. Man things.”
You nodded, “Oh, yeah! Love all these horses you have around.” It clicked that he was avoiding things, avoiding Barbie. He wanted so desperately for her to come to his door. For her to come to him. Instead, it was you who knocked and stood in her clothes. 
He huffed thanks and sat on the couch, you following beside him as he stared at a white horse gallop loop on the screen in front of both of you. It was obvious he was still bothered by his situation. A pang of sympathy left at the tip of your tongue, “Are you okay?”
This seemed to stir something in Ken, the air felt thick. “What am I doing wrong?” His voice was low. So quiet that you were almost sure it was like he didn’t want you to hear him.
But you did and you felt… bad for him. You grabbed his hands that laid on his lap with one of yours, “Ken, you can’t make something that won’t happen, happen.”
He brought his eyes from the TV to now stare at you. His blue eyes held something brooding behind them, but it didn’t deter you from continuing. “Some Barbies don’t have a Ken. Not everyone is made to follow a set of expectations, like how there’s one Alan… or me.” You trail off to include yourself, hoping he sees how you understand him.
“What I’m saying is, it’s okay that Barbie doesn’t want to be with you. I’m sure there’s more for you out here. Someone for you.” You tighten the soft grip you have on his hands to show comfort. 
His face is almost unreadable, an uncomfortable silence echoes in the living room as you wonder if you messed up in trying to help. His hands now grasped yours, although a lot tighter than you’d liked. Ken chuckled, but it carried a sense of something you couldn't quite place.
“I’m an idiot!” His voice finally booms to break the silence in the house, “You’re right. You’re right. I don’t need her.” You would’ve been more optimistic in helping with his realization of independency but the grip he had on your hand was starting to hurt.
“I’ve spent so long trying to make her notice me, but why would I need her when I have you?” Your eyebrows furrowed as you tried to stand but he immediately brought you back down on the couch.
“No, no. That's not what I meant, listen to me–” He inched closer to you, using his strength to pin you down on the large couch. “No, you’re supposed to listen to me.” Betrayal, sadness, fear. So many emotions you weren’t used to swirled inside of you. 
“You’re perfect, y’know? I’ve been thinking about this, us. I wasn’t sure but the way you’ve been by my side all this time, so ready to make me feel better.” He speaks as one of his hands leaves your wrists to dough at your breasts through your lace top.
“So happy to follow me around with bewski beers and to wear the cute little outfits I picked out for you. Dare I say, you look better than Barbie in them.” A dark laugh left his lips, the contrast making your stomach turn as he ignored your small pleas for him to let you go. “Now I see so clearly. We should’ve been together all this time! Ken and (Y/N). I like the sound of that more.” 
You weren’t sure why your chest seemed to pound, or your mouth felt dry, or why tears pricked in your eyes. This wasn’t meant to happen. “What– what are you doing?” You felt almost twice as small as you normally were, wishing your body would shrink and wiggle out of his grasp.
His hand trailed from your chest to under your skirt, between your legs. A gasp left you when he rubbed the foreign part of you covered by a thin underwear.
“The books I’ve read said this,” His hand gave you an oddly warm sensation down there, “It’s important for us to be together. To make you mine.” Suddenly he spread your legs apart to peel down your underwear.
You’re terrified to move, not even noticing that there wasn’t a grip on your wrists anymore. His demeanor alone was enough to keep you down. 
You knew what you had down there, a vagina, and you knew Ken had a penis. Though everyone in Barbieland had one or the other, nobody acknowledged it. It wasn’t something that was shunned per se, but it was like how some dolls had breasts and other’s didn’t. The peak of anything suggestive was making out, and even that disinterested you.
Now, whatever Ken is doing, is making you feel as if you're about to melt. His fingers circle around your entrance and you don’t even get enough time to get used to that feeling before he pulls away and starts lowering down his joggers to free his aching cock. His stupid faux mink coat already having been long discarded right next to your underwear. 
His breathing is heavy, “That should be good, right? You’re ready now? For the sex?” Ken stares at your flushed state with lidded eyes, “I can’t wait anymore. Don’t worry, it should feel amazing!”
You have no idea what he’s talking about. He’s kissing you now, loud moans leave his lips as he sinks into you. Pain. It hurts so bad. Whatever he said about being ready, you definitely weren’t.
The stretching tears you apart and you’re unsure if the burn will ever go away. Ken’s body lays on top of you, a blubbering mess. “Ah, ah, this– this is great, so good.” 
So many feelings overwhelm you in a way that it makes you want just to scream. Hate. Hate is the strongest one. You guys used to be good friends. Everything used to be right. You hate him, you hate him, you hate him. You can only repeat that in your head once he starts to thrust into you. 
“Y-you’re mine, aren’t you? Ah– I, I took your virginity. That means, agh– that means you have to stay with me.” His voice mixes in with the sound of his skin slapping into yours, he says something about patriarchy and virginities. He’s claimed you, as the book says. 
You wonder how long this is going to last, you’re pretty sure he’s feeling amazing, but all you feel is an ache. The pain travels up and down your body as all you can do is whimper weak cries. “(Y/N), ah-- I love you.” Ken’s thrusting faster, trailing kisses down your jawline. “Say it back, (Y/N).” 
No, you can’t and you won’t. Ken keeps moaning and saying he loves you over and over again. Each time it’s like he expects you to respond with the same thing back, you don’t. It doesn’t stop him though, his movements become more and more messy. You think he’s getting tired when a harsh snap of his hips with an especially loud moan takes your breath away. A new feeling. Full. 
Again, you didn’t know what just happened. A confused sob is finally let out once you catch your breath, “Ken, what did you do?” You hope he understands you through your choked breaths.
He ignores you, taking sight at the mess he just made. White cum drips out of you, a beautiful scene. “Oh, (Y/N). I wish you can see how perfect you look right now.” His hug around your body is suffocating, "I'm so excited for us to do so many new things tonight."
The new thought of dying creeps into your mind.

let’s start with mick:
- i love this era of mick btw (can be said about every era)
-the pants are cute ngl, like i think he really liked these cause i have a couple more pics of him wearing them. 7/10 (yo wait i’m looking at the pic again, wtf is that white stuff near his dick…i really hope he didn’t rip those jeans…)
- THE SHOES idc what anyone says those shoes are a serve frfr‼️ i don’t think he’s worn these ones a lot (imo he should of these are so cute) 8/10
-the leather jacket is nothing special imo, like very stock standard looking jacket it’s getting a 5/10
-the scarf…i’m beefing. like we could have gotten a nice chest pic right there and the old man is busy trying to be “modest”, SHOW CHEST OLD MAN 2/10
- which brings us to the shirt, very conveniently buttoned the last two buttons but won’t show us chest, like my guy tommy’s right next to you showing off his tits and here you are- you know what the shirt is still nice so i’ll give it a 6.5/10

- once again the leather jacket is the least important part of this outfit it’s getting a 3.5/10 (still more important than that nonexistent belt though)
-the earrings are a plus though, it will get a 6.6/10 they’re helping him serve (not like he needs the help)

- even though we can’t really see the pants, the small part of his foot the camera captured tells us he’s also wearing leather pants…nothing special so 5/10
-he’s actually wearing sneakers, which he’s worn since like probably ‘82 or something like that, which i find funny compared to some of the things he’s worn…i’ll give that a 6/10 for the humour value
- of course, he’s only wearing a leather jacket but i’ll give him a 7/10 for the audacity…we need to start taking notes people (*cough mick *cough)
- the gloves are a bonus actually like that’s kind of a serve ngl 8/10
so vince’s score will be: 7.9/10
now onto our last subject, nikki:
- first thing you lock onto in this photo is nikki’s jacket. that is a great damn jacket my god. putting nikki in my rob list as we speak actually. i will be giving the jacket a 9/10
- the shirt is ruffled (i’m pretty sure the ruffles aren’t apart of the jacket but i wouldn’t be surprised) i actually like that kind of style…secret time: i loved nikki’s phase where he dressed like a gay pirate that only exclusively listened to queen. so that being said, the shirt gets a 8/10
-the pants are obviously leather and we know how i feel about leather pants…it’s getting a 5/10.
- the shades are actually really nice, i love circle frames you can pry that shit outta my cold dead hands- anyways those get a 7.5/10
- the bass will be counted as a part of the outfit…love it, can’t go wrong with black, especially if it fits the outfit 9/10
to complete the set, nikki gets a 8.2/10 (sorry mick this outfit just eats)
this was so much fun to do, i might do more (if that’s what you guys would like too) anyways that’s been the first instalment of “ranking the crüe fits” with your host lily!

SIX OF CROWS SPIN-OFF PREDICTIONS
Part 1
I have thought this through and you know what..I think we can all get what we want. I’m going to breakdown how they can work with the storyline they’ve made and give justice to the crows.
(This is my jumbled non stop thoughts btw I’m not referring to the books really so I expect I’ll miss a few things)
To start here’s some basics:
• We won’t be seeing Per Haskell again, the Dregs and Crow club belong to Kaz and in the new season I expect we will see a much younger crew including Kesh and Anika compared to the random old dudes Kaz beat up in s2. Also the Crow and the Cup tattoos.
• There will be a much bigger focus on family and particularly parents - every single crow has major shit w parents. I think something that is never given much thought even in the books is how young children are taken from the family’s to train as grisha and they don’t return- this happened to nina and it really wasn’t discussed much and should be.
• The eight episodes have actually already been written and we know there is an Inej centric episode and a Wylan one too. I expect Inej’s episode will be a standout as we’ve seen pretty much nothing about her past- definitely the hardest to watch but one that very much deserves telling and Amita is an incredible actress and I completely trust her w Inej
• We’ve already had an article saying sab3 is king of scars based plus the new Alina and mal!sturmhond story but the soc story would happen simultaneously. There’s a chance the last scene we see is s2 actually happens after the crows have already been to the ice court and they call for Nikolai around this time- meaning it can be dealt w before having Alina exposed to Parem which I don’t care for and they said they waited for the story as they didn’t want the darkling to use it
• also people seem to think inej is not coming back- obviously she is. Pretty sure they r sending her away to get a taste of what she could do and will return w a sense of purpose and revenge - I’ll explain why later. Also the writers have said she only goes for a few weeks so it’s cool
• we will see a lot of flashbacks for each crow- we’ve seen about two mins worth of Kaz’s and I want them to explore his rise through the barrel as a kid and show his life in lij to prove truly how cruel the world was to him. Obviously Wylan’s past is a major focus of this story but I expect we will get that in a Crooked Kingdom based series two which is also thr first time we got a wylan pov chapter. Hopefully we will get to see more of Jespers childhood but again probably a bigger focus for later when colm arrives. As for Matthias I hope we see how he was raised in a militant, angry cultish way after the death of his family. I don’t expect we will get much on nina but I hope we do as i always felt we missed out slightly on the effects of her past. And ofcourse Inej who I hope they take the most care with in their retelling.
Now getting the plot back on track is actual quite simple and people r freaking out for no reason.. so here it is
I expect the show will start w Kaz agreeing to Van Ecks offer w all that came along in his first book chapter and a longer version of the crows last scenes w just saw in s2
Next inej will return - kaz will call for her but I think what will also bring her back is the return of Tante Heleen. We didn’t see a body and we know pekka ‘killed’ her to frame kaz so who’s to say he bothered killing her and just paid her off but now serves as his way out of hellgate
With Tante Heleen alive, pekka is no longer guilty of murder and will be released from Hellgate. This is potentially how pekka and Van Eck connect- pekka will want retribution for wrongly being imprisoned and will receive a lot of money from the merchant council as compensation
This will set off kaz and inej and THIS will now be the CK ending where we get full closure with their pasts. The books kept Heleen and pekka alive so I think the show will see it through to the end. People felt we got Kaz’s revenge too soon so I expect them to find an even bigger, badder and more horrific way to fuck them over
The kanej reunion upon Inej’s return from sea is going to set the tone. Either kaz has begun to make progress in her absence or he’s closed himself off tenfold
Now helnik is pretty much unchanged, their scenes were basically word for word in s1 and I think it can carry on for soc. They’re most likely to be the most book accurate ship now and i hope there will be a lot more emotional depth and background to Matthias who I think is completely underrated and overlooked. He has an incredibly big character arc and I think we will see a lot more of what is costs him
So they break Matthias out of Hellgate most likely in a very similar way to the books.
Now we get the Wylan identity reveal. Wesper is already established so it’s going to be an even bigger shock. However I think jespers gambling addiction will have gotten a lot worse in a very short space of time and this has already been causing a problem + I think they gleamed over him coming to terms w being grisha too fast so they will back track a bit when Colm gets involved which reminds Jesper why he hid for so long
Now I think we could get the ck last chapter here w inej threatening pekka and Alby before they depart. However it will backfire a bit. He will actually get spurred on to take down kaz and he’ll realise there’s something between kaz and inej. He can team up w heleen and use it against them
Now the next part can actually carry on faithfully to the books - if Jesper is back in debt his slip up will get back to pekka and result in the harbour ambush and Kaz’s distrust of Jesper. Also perhaps they use the hummingbird rather than the ferolind
Notorious kaz boyfriend of ripping eyes out will ensue
Now here’s something new. Kaz won’t stay away from inej now, it would completely eradicate everything that just happened in s2. So I expect we will get another bandage scene here or simply see kaz watching over inej as she heals
Now this is where I think the inej episode will fit (within the first 4 eps) it will delve into her past in ravka, her abduction, time at the menagerie and meeting kaz/being trained by him (that last one may happen throughout the series tho and perhaps more from Kaz’s perspective like in the books). And here’s where we see what inej has been doing whilst away briefly and how she felt bringing down slavers and her new purpose to track down those who hurt her and take down heleen
Now pretty much everything from this point onwards to the end of the Six of Crows books can remain the same. The differences are: established wesper, most likely pekka isn’t hired for this job, a more open kanej and a slightly more powerful kaz as a baby barrel boss
I’m not going to re explain the story here as they have used very little SOC plot so far
They have done a version of the prison wagon scene but I think they will do the book one too as inej will be there, kaz faints this time and ultimately it’s worse then the s2 one (which made me feel physically sick for kaz all within the first 15 mins of the show)
That’s the end of part 1! I’m feeling very positive thinking of all this. You stay for the characters in soc they are so wonderfully different and clever, a story of these kids who are expected of nothing but achieve everything. I expect the series will have a rather different tone compared to Sab and will truly show the significance of these six characters finding each other.

How Mike Stole Christmas (Canon Universe) Characters: Levi Ackerman, Hange Zoe, Erwin Smith, Mike Zacharius, Nanaba, Moblit Berner 602 words 
Mike seized the final scrap of paper lying inside a squat, cardboard box. Erwin placed the empty vessel on his desk before addressing the small group before him in the same formal tones that he used during every expedition briefing.
“And so concludes the drawing of names for this year’s Secret Santa. Now, just a few reminders with regards to the rules. 5000 yen spending limit. No items which include hazardous, corrosive or highly flammable matter. No conspiring to exchange names with one another.” At this he gave a pointed stare in Hange’s direction.
There came a derisive snort from the back of the group. Heads turned towards Mike Zacharius who glanced up triumphantly.
“Hey, Hange. Seeing as you’ve got me, don’t bother buying me a gift. Just swap outpost duty with me next weekend?”
Hange blinked; their eyes magnified alarmingly behind dark, square frames. “Huh? Surely your nose doesn’t possess that level of power, Mike… unless…”
“Well…” Mike strode with his hands clasped behind him and head thrown back so that his celebrated appendage was held proudly in the air. “...not only do I know that you do indeed have me Hange, but I’ve also figured out who everyone else has too…”
Stopping abruptly, Mike gave a sudden nod of his head.
“Levi didn’t put in a name or take one out. He doesn’t want to participate.” 
Levi scowled at him. 
“Never do. How’d you figure that much out?”
“I got a whiff of ink and paper from everyone here… apart from you.” Mike’s nostrils flared. “Standing next to you, all I smell is deception.” 
“Meanwhile, Hange’s expression was just like the first time they saw Levi using ODM gear.” Mike paused to inhale deeply. “The air is thick with awe and… pheromones.”
Beneath their misted frames, Hange’s face glowed pink. “Why thank you.” 
“...but that’s just because you slipped Levi’s name in the box when he wasn’t looking and you’re excited to see who picked it.” 
Levi closed his eyes in frustration. Mike continued his course, hesitating to sniff the air beside Moblit’s ear. Hange’s subordinate gave a visible shudder.
“Increased perspiration, panic and dread. You could cut the air with it,” Mike concluded. “Moblit pulled Levi’s name. Erwin drew Moblit…” 
The Survey Corps Commander regarded Mike coolly. “I thought I kept a remarkably impassive expression and maintained my body temperature throughout the whole ordeal.”
“But you can’t fool me.” Mike tipped his finger from his forehead towards Erwin. “I saw you mouthing ‘Moblit Brenner…?’ with obvious confusion.”
Moblit sighed. “It’s Berner. Sir, I’ve served alongside you for the past five-”
“And, lastly, I caught Nanaba’s clean, refreshing aroma of relief,” Mike cut across him. “She eyed up Hange’s frog crocs immediately after she picked their name. Nanaba’s been dying for an excuse to buy them a new pair. Those old things are falling apart so badly, they’re more hole than shoe by this point.”
“B-but they’re comfy!”
“And I drew Nanaba.” Mike waved his own slip of paper. “That’s why I need next weekend off. I’ve booked a little place outside the district…” He offered her a wink.
“So Mike single-handedly sank the whole thing?” Levi’s brows were contracted in disbelief.
“So, I didn’t get picked at all?” Erwin gasped faintly. “Hange, how could you just throw my slip out…?”
“Let’s punish him.” A glint of light flashed dangerously where it caught on Hange’s glasses. “Shall we draw the names again and leave Mike out this time?” 
“Wait, wait - ” Mike’s voice caught in his throat. “You can’t blame me! Blame my nose - it’s both a gift and a curse!”

Hi there! and sure I never actually got to talk about why I love my favs so thank you for giving me an opportunity!
Sukuna
so fun fact! I actually started watching jjk because of gojo to see what's the hype all about but then sukuna showed up aaaaannd... I knew right then and there that this is MY guy. there was just something about him that drew me in. he intrigues me, makes my head spin. sukuna is evil (a devil incarnate some may say) but he's also more than that. he's not your typical villain. there's actually lots of contradictories and nuances to his character. he’s bloodthirsty but not hotheaded. he's apathetic but reads others like a book. he actually pays attention to his opponents, observers them, calculates their every move, spots their weaknesses while also encourages them and at times even praises them. also sukuna's unyielding sense of self is truly a thing of beauty. he does as he pleases and doesn't proclaim his strength to define himself. he doesn't need to prove anything nor does he seek to be understood. he's chosen to prioritise the self at the expanse of all connections, which allowed him to transcend humanity and became what we know as the king of curses. he's basically the epitome of all that is inherently wrong with humanity and jujutsu society as whole, to the point you can't even think of him as human, but rather, inhuman. or as yuuji would call him a curse "these guys are and will always be curses"... but here’s the thing, unlike mahito, sukuna was born human. and as much as he appears to be this self-serving, cunning and evil god-like being (well he is... definitely.. cunning, self-serving and evil those are all correct!! but god-like? I talked about it here) he still has "humanity". it's corrupted and twisted but well.. it's still THERE and that's actually what makes him so sinister in the end (but also so sooo appealing to me).
Yuuji
he's just THE BEST. I love this dude. one would think he's all sunshine and rainbows, but he's waayyy more than that. for one yuuji is a mess. a boy with a warped sense of self-worth and terrible identity issues who on top of that has a big disdain for his existence as a whole and yet still clings to life. he still manages to keep on going, regardless of what awaits him on the path he has paved... his determination is really something else. another thing I love about yuuji's character is that he’s not at all like your typical good natured, hero most protagonists are framed as. he doesn’t mind resorting to violence when the situation “calls” for it. he is actually someone who also relies on power and strength above everything else. yuuji doesn't really question his actions or the things jujutsu society tells him to do but that's because yuuji is a teenager. a confused teenager who just doesn't want to think too hard about the world he lives in so long as he has something to do. but then again... he's a teenager, which means he's still learning, he's still growing and despite his self hatred and the dwindling feeling of his self worth coupled with the burden he has to carry, yuuji keeps on living. and I think that's one of the most interesting and admirable things about his character. yuuji is completely selfless in his desires which has only made him suffer more as the story progressed, but the most selfish he has ever been is when he chose to live... and he still does btw. he is still choosing to keep living despite all the suffering and deaths it cost him. that's what makes this boy so special to me.
Megumi
now I'll admit, I thought megumi... was kindA bOring at first (little did I know he's been growing on me since day one). but then I GOT it. I had my 'oh' moment. I FINALLY understood!! megumi is kinda... a freak. boy goes unhinged when pushed too far. and I absolutely love those moments when he stops second guessing himself and goes completely off the rails. also there's just something about his character that makes me want to sit down and see what fucked up situation he is going to get himself into next and then watch him figure his way out of it lol anyway. megumi, just like yuuji, has a really low self esteem. he can be self sacrificial, but not because he has some 'hero complex'. megumi just doesn't value his own life the same way he values his loved ones' (tsumiki and yuuji). his major goal in life was to make sure he's sister is safe and well... we all know how that turned out. megumi is an implicitly suicidal character that also happened to have… quite a shitty life, which is why I want him him live. I want him to survive this and more importantly I want him to finally fight for HIMSELF and chose his own life in the end (honestly this person summed it up so much better than I could have <- this is essentially everything what I love about megumi's character).
as for my top 5 fav moments… damn it’s all gonna be sukuna isn't it ToT
1. sukuna’s possession of megumi (best plot twist EVER even tho we really should've seen coming)
2. sukuna and yuuji’s confrotation (their dynamic is actually one of my favourite things about jjk)
3. sukuna rampage in shibuya and then his conversation with jogo
4. yuuji confrontation with jumpei where yuuji ended up reaching out to him (I think that’s the moment that really made me fall in love with his character)
5. megumi during culling game (basically just unhinged and stressed baby)

Waking up in bed with someone else was always new.
For the majority of your existence, for however long you have jumped through time and space and across the multiverse, you have always woken up alone. Partners rarely lasted, and the spot next to you was always empty. Before, you’d lay in bed for minutes at a time, palm running back and forth across the cool sheets.
It was lonely.
But in this moment, you didn’t feel lonely. Strong arms wrapped around your frame, one curled around your waist and one serving as a pillow for your head. Your nose was buried in the junction between the neck and shoulder. It smelled of mint, pine, oil, and the spicy curry from the night before. The sun streamed through the dimmed windows, bathing the room in warmth.
The sheets weren’t cold. You weren’t waking up alone. It felt…
Safe.
A beard rasped against your forehead, pulling you from sleep. It took great effort to open your eyes, so you kept them closed, tightening the arm you had slung around the torso. Your hand loosely grasped at the back of the shirt.
A nose traced along your hairline. A thumb rubbed back and forth against your nape.
“Good morning,” a voice rumbled.
Someone made a noise. It took a moment to realize that it came from you, and you let out another noise.
The voice chuckled, and it reverberated from all points of contact.
“Don’t wanna get out of bed yet?”
You shook your head slowly.
“We have a lot of stuff we need to get done today,” the voice mused, pressing lips to your forehead.
You shook your head again. You weren’t gonna do shit if you could help it.
“Good morning, Captain, Mark,” the Computer chimed softly. “Shall I cancel all appointments for today?”
“Hmm,” Mark mused, “how ‘bout we just wake up a little later than usual?”
You pouted, brow furrowing.
“No?”
A nod instead.
He hummed again. “I think it’s gonna have to take some convincing.”
Pressing his lips against your forehead again, he kissed his way down your nose. He migrated to the left cheek, the one that wasn’t pressed against his arm, and peppered kisses there. Down your jaw, your chin, and he used his nose to nudge your face to lift the other cheek. He kissed and kissed and kissed so lightly and gently that your eyes fluttered open, and when he saw that you were finally awake and looking at him, he pressed his lips to yours, close-mouthed and full of love.
When he pulled away, you chased after, and he chuckled again. You thought you could listen to it every day as soon as you woke up and never get sick of it.
“Just a little later than usual, then,” you whispered against his mouth, and he met you again. You made out languidly against the sheets, basking in the morning sun, and your heart had never felt this full.
Safe was a good way to describe this, but ‘home’ seemed more fitting.

rewatching interview and Levi is really the one that’s first like “YOU have a KID?” and then the disgust on graces face….like it’s disgust the second she realizes Louis has a child and that lestat is the other parent and the whole “you and her…uncle” the way she says it is so so cruel. it’s so obvious too that Louis refers to lestat as uncle to Claudia as a placement to papa or like of course they can’t imagine them both being daddy or that being something she would’ve even had a frame of reference to understand and so Grace immediately picks up on uncle=daddy and Grace lets Levi talk to Louis like that just like she let their mama and probably how their daddy let their mama without saying anything even though they’re trying to get him to sign his ancestral house to her useless husband who would have to pay in installments even though they have servants serving at the wake so you wonder again where they’re getting that steady income from to fund the servants or better yet who makes sure the servers checks clear with the bank every week if Grace and Levi aren’t individually rich enough to buy the house at once or for Grace to think Louis should get to charge him at all (bc it IS gonna be going to Levi’s name. btw. and then to their son, who wouldn’t be a dpdl in name, under that current assumption they’d be staying in nola. and Grace isn’t even scared when Louis gets in her face she has the same look as their mama when Louis did kick in that door like she doesn’t even FLINCH it’s Levi who shifts back and puts a hand in her shoulder she’s just looking at Louis with pure and total disgust trying to get him to sign away their childhood home to her husband that’s shitty to him. like looking down her nose at Louis with the “white daddy” thing being a direct callback to Louis saying uncle earlier MY GOD. AND LOUIS STILL GIVES THEM THE HOUSE BTW. they’ve been calling him fag out loud and in their mind that entire time and it was so bad that even Claudia in her childhood blaséness was like Hm. They suck. Uncle Les can we kill them. And lestat was like no we can’t 🙄 ur mother loves them for some outrageous reason🙄 so they have to settle for rudely interrupting the convo even though Claudia died late enough to know social convention (and then choose not to care. her fathers daughter) and Louis isn’t stupid he can easily understand why they cut in. And He Still Gives Them The House

As a survivalist you were prepared for every case, you knew how to start a fire, how to hunt, forage. Anything there was to learn about surviving you knew. By the mark of two months you were already stacked, you found out about civilizations living around this place called Amphibia. Frogs, Toads and Newts you supposed. But it didn’t matter, you were by yourself, put through dangerous situations out there in the wilderness, by choice. And all this—the harsh weather, hostile brutes lurking at every other living creature and the strangeness of it all—had no effect on you. That was not for the fact that you were long familiar with it, you were a newcomer in the land. But it was for that you were well prepared for anything coming your way. 
Dressed in chitin cuirass, made of Barbari–Ant’s hide that you polished and remade, it consisted of a hard chestplate and backplate fastened together, leaving the limbs free and light. You killed off two of them after they lost their horde, although they’re fast, aggressive and vicious, they were no match for you. Their pincers served as tools for your use.
Walking through the local market all the eyes were directed at you, knowing you weren’t in this town yet you realized it wasn’t the best idea. “Oi look! There is another one!” – You heard one of the Frogs say, you sent him a cold glare and saw his soul almost leave his body. 
The locals stared in awe at your cuirass and knives made of stings of many unfortunate insects that crossed your road. You sighed as you heard another whisper – “This one is surely less, hm, lanky than our Anne.”. 
Remembering the town’s motto, you couldn’t really be mad. — Slow to accept, and even slower to respect. — You muttered to yourself.
Sighing, you walked into one of the shops. “Leopold Loggle’s”: The sign read, door creaked loudly as you walked in, your armor scraping against the wooden frame. Everything inside was wooden, the shopkeeper nowhere in sight. Looking around you finally spotted a light blue axolotl with dark blue gills, his mouth was almost covered with his large ashy mustache. You could tell by the looks of it that he was a rather passionate wood carver.
You walked over to him, the axolotl was rather surprised at the sight of you, gasping slightly he looked at you cautiously. 
— Can I find a weapon here? — You said, waiting for his response. 
— Of course you can… not. — He said with a pause, giving you hope for a moment.
— Do you know a good place for that then? 
— Absolutely, I do…n’t. I don’t. — He said weirdly again.
— Why do you keep doing that? — You finally asked, confused by his pattern of speech. By now he moved, standing behind his counter.
— Old smithing accident, I tripped on an anvil. Landed neck–first on a metal pipe. Pierced my voice box clean through! That’s why there is no blacksmith in Wartwood anymore. — He said, you nodded, not really disgusted by his story. Bad things happen, as a survivalist you learned how to accept them and adapt to them. — Switched to wood after that. Anyhow, I’m afraid I can’t do much for you. 
Nodding again you turned around, ready to head out. — Wait, tell me, few have made it out alive after meeting a Barbari–Ant, fewer yet collected a trophy. You seem different from the other one of ya monster ‘round here, and I haven’t seen ya here yet, you from somewhere else? 
— I’m currently resigning in the wilds near this town. — Before leaving, a sudden realization hit you. 
— What do you mean, “different from the other one”?
— I am fairly sure I’ve seen another one of ya creatures here, in Wartwood. — He said, you acknowledged the fact and nodded to him as a sign of saying goodbye. You noted his words and carried on with what you were doing.
Once outside, you left Wartwood rather quickly, skipping its main road and just heading off back to the wild woods you had your camp in.
As you came back to your resting area, you set up some traps along the way, hoping for a game to fall into them. During this time, a foreign to you girl ran through the town’s square with her best friend, Sprig, by her side. 
She couldn’t shake off a feeling that she missed something prior to now. Both of them ran into the Leopold Loggle’s. At the sight of Anne Lepold murmured to himself. — Yes, yes I knew that there were other kinds of ya ‘round here somewhere.
— Did you say something? — Sprig asked him, as for they were close enough to hear.
— Oh yeah, yeah. — He turned to Anne herself and spoke up. — Ya didn’t tell anyone there were more of you around. It stirred up the whole Wartwood just a second ago. 
Anne and Sprig looked at eachother confused, the girl quickly jumped into action asking questions, hoping it was either Marcy or Sasha, her other best friends also stuck in Amphibia. 
— What did they look like? That was probably Marcy! My friend from back home.
— Well, they had H/L that was H/C colored, they also wore Barbari–Ant armor. They were slightly taller/shorter than ya. Kinda different, really different. They were definitely stronger and more harsh looking than ya, kid. — That confused Anne, her friends were very different from the description that Loggle gave her. 
— Are you sure dude? — She said, confused.
— Of course… — They expected him to say something that fit his style but he continued. — I’m sure. They said they live in those wilds next to Wartwood, pretty dangerous if you ask me.
Both best friends looked at each other and ran out of the woodsmith’s shop. — Thanks Loggle! — They yelled behind them.
— Do you think what I am thinking? — Anne asked Sprig he nodded.
— Yeah! We gotta find that person. — He said as Anne agreed. 
Soon they came up with a plan, it only took a few minutes, they decided that Sprig will stay and deceive Hop Pop as Anne will go out and find the mysterious person. Meanwhile you were chilling by a fire you set up, laying on the soft moss, a calm moment among the dangerous wilderness. 
As Anne entered the woods after asking for directions, she was met with nothing other than light footsteps left in the mud. She stepped forward and regretted not having both shoes on. Walking cautiously she looked around, only wind accompanied her. 
Shuffling through the woods she realized she's not even sure about the person you are. Lost in thought, Anne didn’t even realize when she stepped into a trap, a handmade rope tied around her foot and pulled her up, she shrieked, now dangling in the air she realized the bad situation she landed in. 
Growing nervous she heard something inching closer. A figure soon emerged from the thick bushes, walking over to the place where rope was tied, she saw them taking out a makeshift knife. She heard a snap as she came tumbling to the ground, scrambling to get up she saw the person coming closer and taking out a hand towards her. — Uh, are you okay?
Anne froze in her place, she looked you up and down, shocked to see other human in Amphibia after all this time spent with Frogs and others. — Hello..?
— Oh my god, am I dreaming? — She said, more to herself.
— ..Sorry..? — You asked confused, blushing from the weird reaction of Anne’s, she quickly picked herself up and blushed slightly, she could swear she had seen you before, somewhere in her school and then it clicked. She knew you, Marcy and Sasha always teased her about looking at you during lunch or always stumbling on her words when she talked with you. 
— You’re Y/N, right? I’m Anne Boonchuy, we used to go to the same school before… — She mentioned everything around her. — all this happened. You don’t even know how happy I am to see another human after all this time dude! 
You observed her closely before she tackled you into a bear hug, she was right, you remembered her, vaguely, but still. You remembered how she always talked with her friends and got into trouble. After breaking apart you saw her grin at you. Then you noticed a slight gash on her forehead. — Come on. — You gestured for her to follow you, while you walked she asked you questions to which you replied quickly. 
Finally you walked back to your camp, the fire was shining and burning brightly. She gasped and started to look around, slightly flustering you. — This is where you’ve been living all this time? — She asked as you nodded, taking out a bangade and purified water you previously boiled. 
Anne sat down on the hammock you set up for you to sleep during the night. You washed off the wound and bandaged it while talking with her about everything that happened in Amphibia, comparing your experiences so far, you talked for a long time, to your surprise, you missed talking with anyone. It reminded you of the fun but short times you shared with Anne.
Maybe you can finally get closer to each other? 
You smiled at the thought and went back to talking with Anne, this encounter marking a new chapter for both of you.

Why you don’t like stannis, renly, olenna and margaery?
disclaimer that a lot of my dislikes are just predicated on lannister stanning and it's really not deeper than just side-eyeing anyone who's side-eyeing my faves. i'm not playing morality olympics here, just rooting for my own barbies (they're not going to win anything, but that's won't stop me) 🤷‍♀️
that being said, i don't like SATANNIS because, well, what's there to like, precisely? he has the charisma of a brick wall. has the most aloof relationship with his wife and only living child and literally every other person. there's stuff about stannis that's interesting, like his bond with davos, his relationship with renly, his indoctrination into the religion of r'hllor, how he'll end up sacrificing his own daughter etc, but he doesn't exactly have a riveting personality
renly is a lot more boisterous and enjoyable as a character but a lot of people tend to gloss over the fact that he's essentially a usurper and a slimy interloper. on the one hand, what he tells stannis is true ("no one wants you as king") and his barbs are pretty darn funny, but, legally-speaking, stannis IS the rightful king. this is not a pick-and-choose-system. renly compromises stannis' war campaign out of pure vanity, simply bc HE wants to be king, but is never even truly shown to have any proper kingly qualities.
he's not interested in the good of the realm at all, because he constantly engages in petty court schemes. like in AGOT his grand plan is to have robert set cersei aside and marry margaery instead, for shits and giggles. he's already the king's brother, what more influence does he want? he's willing to start a potential war just so his boyfriend's family can climb the greasy pole. the tyrells are all very rich btw, they don't even need this. which is why i'm not fond of them either - a lot of fans gloss over how self-serving and mercenary they are and like to pretend they're this flower power house that are just so much more principled than the lannisters.
also renly's thoughts on brienne and shireen. just two-faced and cruel. he would appeal to me a lot more if he got a POV (bc that shit would probably be entertaining af) but this lack of additional insight doesn't compensate for the bad taste in my mouth
no wonder he is the first to die in the war of the five kings, he's literally a paper gangsta, whereas the tyrells are poster children for the expression "fuck around and find out". olenna is basically a bully for no reason (within her own family) and willingly sets sansa up during the purple wedding, while margaery is a participant in that. idk, it's just really slimy to think of how they treat sansa and make fake friends with her while plotting to have her framed for murder. they don't receive nearly as much criticism as they should in comparison with other characters. wanting joffrey dead is understandable, but surely there are ways to go about assassinating him that would look like an accident.

disclaimer i wrote this on my flight without actually looking at the video so translation might not be 100% the same but yknow. Also I wish I could include all the photos in this analysis to make my points clearer but I think even tumblr's new liberal photo limit wouldn't allow that lol ok let's go

This is kind of the framing device of most of the rest of the song, with the painting being taken and returned by Boris. I'm personally fully obsessed with exploring Boris's guilt and his need to repay Theo for this theft, so the pictures basically drew themselves when I heard these lyrics!!! And this sets up the lyrics being from Boris's pov, which for the most part will stay consistent until the end
Will you be happy and free, or...
Man these are so good for Theo, too good even!!! He's given the painting back - the freedom of the bird being a major theme in EVERY discussion of it - but he is neither happy nor free, because he's trapped by his trauma from the explosion as well as all subsequent miseries, one of which is the internalised homophobia that shines in his relationship to Boris. That's why these lines serve as a transition to their parting, because it weighs heavily on Theo's mind. I originally had an idea to not depict Theo leaving straightforwardly, but rather show teen Theo and Boris in the place of their adult selves -

- to show that their relationship now is forever marked by the past.
But before I go/ But before I go/ But before I go, I want to tell you that:
Admittedly this complicates the pov because it's still more Boris's lines even though he's not the one leaving - but in a way he is, because unlike Theo who HAS to run away from Vegas he's choosing to stay behind, therefore being the one to abandon Theo and not the other way around... I really like how Boris came out in this shot btw, he's got this really sad and knowing/understanding look because I do love to take Theo's claim - that he knew Theo loved him - at face value. I think it muddles their relationship in an interesting way, to have Boris know about Theo's feelings but basically not act on that knowledge until the very final moment, and of course his knowledge of the painting's whereabouts plays into this too.
Love is no teddy bear or flowers
I play pretty fast and loose with the song line-scene associations. In the song, the narrator is obviously using symbols to describe love, whereas I often use the symbols to literally match the lines to scenes and often make more of a statement that this or that relationship isn't "really" love. I do feel like that's a little unfair, to imply that Theo and Boris's is the only relationship of real love in the story - but, well, artistic license! Anyway, this is Theo's first visit to Pippa's bedside, with all the condolences and get well gifts she's gotten from friends - I put a wilted flower on her table as a reference to the card Theo gets from his grandparents! Anyway, Pippa will come up again and again here because of course she's someone Theo """""loves"""""" where the exact nature of his feelings is more muddied. Theo himself describes it as between love and not love, which I'm extremely confused by. Lol
It's no horned devil, either
I went back and forth on whether or not to include tom cable, but I think it's kind of fitting here, since with only a slight stretch of the imagination you could conceivably call him Theo's first (semi) romantic relationship. And it's a decidedly toxic one, too, with basically all the worst parts of his relationship with Boris and none of the good parts (hence the unflattering devil comparison). And they're kids here because this first verse is all about Theo's life pre-timeskip. In case it wasn't clear, they're on their breaking into people's vacation homes adventures!
Or love, when one cries and the other tramples on them
Felt fitting to include Theo's parents here, since it's generally so easy to carry subconscious ideas about what relationships look like with us into adulthood based on our parents' behaviour. Theo does kind of half heartedly admit Audrey had her flaws, but the overall picture is that of pretty one sided abuse or mistreatment on Larry's part.
Love is no film in no cinema, or roses
I had to include Theo's obsession with old movies somehow! I didn't want to imply that his and Audrey's love for each other wasn't real, so I again tried to go more for a "getting ideas about love from the wrong places" angle. I would've liked to include a film Theo mentions directly - I considered citizen Kane - but he doesn't really bring up romances much :/ a friend suggested Dr no only for me to remember that Dr no is actually very important to the plot in completely different ways lol. So I went with Casablanca instead!

Pippa again! I love that we get textual confirmation that not only was she Theo's first kiss, but he hadn't even held hands with a girl before lol. In rereading this scene I realised they were still connected by the iPod earphones, which I thought made for a really cool visual... I went with my favourite intense rim lighting as well to make it looks more dramatic B)
But love - when one falls down, the other drags them upwards
THIS was the line that really made me go wild. This drawing was the first one I came up with in the whole project - one of Theo's blackout drunk suicide attempts. The image of Boris dragging him away, taking care of him best he could in those moments - genuinely heartwrenching, as is the fact he never brought it up until prompted years later. Anyway it makes for a real good parallel with the repeat image but I'll talk about that later.
(I actually had to butcher this instrumental section a bit because it was longer than I remembered and I didn't have anything to put on screen so people wouldn't get bored or think it froze or that it's finished ahahaha)

This is of course their reunion post timeskip - and I had a LOT of alternative sketches for this part, including two takes on the iconic eye thumb brush -

- but the specific moment I was referencing is this line where Boris half seriously asks if Theo wants to hit him.

It's kind of a jokey but secretly vulnerable moment - Theo probably thinks Boris is just worried he might be harbouring resentment about Boris not going with him, which probably seems like a ridiculous idea to Theo - it was so long ago, who cares. But Boris is convinced Theo knows about the painting and is genuinely afraid Theo might be completely furious, even planning revenge.
How much did you charge me for your friendship?
Straightforward - Boris feels guilty and like he has to pay Theo back, and of course dealing with Theo finding out that the painting was swapped at all is something he wasn't prepared for at all. I tried to convey Theo's utter panic and disorientation in this scene with the warped perspective and squiggly text <:3
How much were our words worth
I love the scene where Boris drops off popchyk!!! Love love love it. It really showcases Boris's desperation, his guilt, his earnestness - although its end suggests that he might be putting on a show a little bit! And of course he's always talking, talking, talking, skirting around the topic one moment and drowning Theo in fervent promises the next. It also has a moment of what I believe to be the closest they came to kissing again - when Boris looks at Theo's lips and seems "on the verge of rushing in" with something before Theo's frostiness freezes him out. Btw, most of the antiques in this drawing are based either on items from the historical handiwork exhibit at the National Museum in Kraków (my favourite exhibition, I go see it every time I'm home) or my grandma's crazy kitchen/living room full of antiques!

Some instances of Boris clearly falling back on their old camaraderie and habits, and of Theo catching himself almost following suit - first at the engagement party, then during the painting handover.

And btw lemme just say I had way too much fun putting stuff in the foreground in this project lmao, the hands of the negotiators were a particularly fun touch
But before I go
Aaand hard cut to the parting in the car! Again, Theo is technically the one getting to his feet in leaving, but it's Boris who's forcing their separation and urgently trying to get Theo to listen and go.
But before I go
Theo's famous letters, and the infamous nonexistent letter to Boris... I've seen theories that he doesn't write one because he believes Boris to be dead, although my initial (somewhat callous) read is that he simply isn't thinking of Boris in his final moments... I guess I went with the slightly more rose tinted option here, of Theo thinking of Boris, or rather of all the people he's loved in his life.
But before I go, I want to tell you that:
I wanted to convey Boris's desperation - I love that Theo mentions the tears in his eyes! - and Theo's utter disorientation, and I also framed it in a way that kind of suggests a kiss might follow, like in the previous use of this line... But instead we get Boris pushing Theo away, another show of love you could call it.

I tried to insert subtle parallels between the repeating lines in the second and first verse! Again we have Pippa, but rather than literal teddy bears there's the piles of objects Theo's compulsively collected for her. She's not even in the frame, because Theo's obsession kind of erases her personhood in favour of, uhh, plastering an image of his dead mother over her
It's no horned devil either
Though this scene is about kitsey on the surface, I welcomed the opportunity to feature cable like in the first verse! Especially since it leads to an interpretation of the scene that puts Theo's feelings about tom alongside, or even over, his feelings for kitsey. It also features reflections just like the line in the first verse! Mamma mia I've outdone myself

And here is my absolute favourite narrative parallel - that between Theo and his father, again with the concept of repeating our parent's mistakes and dysfunctional patterns. Especially fitting in this scene because it's one of many where Theo makes the comparison directly himself.

And the second part of that parallel that struck me hard and basically motivated the making of this lyricstuck! Admittedly it's a bit annoying that this is a film only scene, since I took care to be as book accurate as possible everywhere else, but I simply couldn't not include it... The poetry of Boris saving Theo's life again and again - not by jumping in front of a bullet for him (although he kind of tries to do that, too) but by painstakingly tearing him away from suicide...
That's amore!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't be mad if Megan came out with a song that called out every person in the industry by name who shitted on her during that trial… lyrically destroy them! The fact that there are still people defending him disgusts me. I’ll never understand this obsession with wanting assault victims to be liars. i will get back to my rant in a moment but i need to say that i always want the world to burn and pay for their crimes for their mistreatment of black women.
it’s not just meg. Rihanna, Kelis, Tina Turner, Ashanti, Keke Palmer, Dee Barnes, Michel'le, & so many other Black women were done wrong
Aaliyah never really came forward. But when the news broke that she was illegally married to R. Kelly she was shamed as if she wasn’t a victim. You can literally look up what happened during that time. Her industry peers was still working with him & didn’t give a damn.
Robin Givens was framed as a “gold digger” & was victim blamed after Mike Tyson abused. The Black community was terrible to her. Despite Mike Tyson saying in his book that punching Robin Givens “was the best punch I've ever thrown in my entire life.”…
People were nasty as hell to K Michelle when she accused Memphitz of abusing her. Only for him to later admit that he actually abused her. I can’t recall anyone who dogged her out in his defense recanting or even apologizing for the harm they brought to her.
Biggie used to abuse tf out of Lil Kim & instead of people acknowledging what happened to her they just rush to talk about her plastic surgeries (as a result of abuse btw)
Karruche, Tyra Banks , Kimora Lee Simmons , Tisha Campbell etc. all lost jobs and opportunities for speaking up
The police leaked Rihanna’s nude pictures from her phone. Nas & Dr Dre are still pillars in the community. People made fun of Keke hiding from Trey. The women of love & hip hop basically told K. Michelle she was lying. Like come the tf on. Society doesn’t care about victims especially if they are black.
if you support a nasty person who hates bw and intentionally harms them and abusers, then you’re dead to me and you can go to hell you abuser and anti bw slut!

It’s the way he’s gone out of his way so many times to avoid accountability and paint him as innocent it’s disgusting. The narcissism. The sociopathy. The way he played the victim

Had he owned up to what he did & took a plea deal, he would’ve been better off.
