Jolene's Emergency Vet Visit
Tumblr media
Description posted from GoFundMe Campaign:
So for those of you who gave followed me (and maybe seen the update) you'll know Salem has been missing for almost 6 months.
She was my ESA, and given my declining mental health, I didn't have much choice but to get a new ESA.
Enter miss Jolene Macchiato L. Whom I adopted almost two months ago and have whole heartedly decided to keep after realizing just how well we mesh.
You may also know I've been in the hospital the last few days - staying with my roommate who was admitted. I've been coming home to feed the cats and (unsuccessfully) treat them for ear mites. My new roommate was dog sitting and he brought fleas and ear mites into our home.
During this time, Jolene went to the bathroom on my bed multiple times. I at first chalked it up to stress and was told to keep an eye on here. Less than a day of being back from the hospital and her stool is light in color, runny, and most terrifyingly, has blood in it.
This is no longer an issue of stress, but could be a major intestinal/stomach problem when mixed with her inability to wait and use her litterbox. On top of that, she was running around like she was in pain, or something was wrong prior to going.
My second job is not a sure thing yet - it has been more than two weeks since the company reached out to me - and I have been looking for more. The money I thought I won was more a scam to get me down to the car dealership (which by the way, I hated as is because of the older man behaving increasingly grossly and inappropriate towards me).
My funding for Salem has stopped at this point - I have done every physical thing I can to find and bring her home. And now I need to focus on the new feline in my care.
I am taking Jolene to the vet tomorrow and using my new credit card - but there are limited funds and paying it back is my current concern when I have payments taking up to the 1,000s combined due these next two months.
I am setting it to $550 for now (because they take a portion), but the price my change depending on what the vet says and what is wrong.
I know she still need to get treated for ear mites ($300 on it's own) because the current medications I've been using are not working."
This is my fundraiser.
Additional pictures of her adoption papers added on here as well proving when I got her. JOLENE IS A REGISTERED ESA NOW.
Jolene as far as I have been told is two years old, though she is very small for her age. She is a sweet heart though she was likely on the streets for a most of not all her life before she was taken to the shelter and I adopted her a month later.
She is a sweet cat that just wants to check and make sure that you're okay. She'll cuddle. She doesn't meow but she does trill and sound like yoshi.
She just wants to make friends with everyone. And if you're not petting her enough then the grabs your hand and brings it right to her face as she stands on her back legs.
This is the last fundraiser I'm making. Ask anyone I know in real life and they'll tell you just how much I despise asking for help. I want to be able to do things on my own. But until I get one bite from the hundreds (literally) of jobs I've applied to as a secondary then I'm at a loss. I can't afford to wait and save up for this vet Visit - not when her health is on the line.
I can post a picture of her at the vets office tomorrow as well to confirm, along with the update of what they set.

UPDATE - 08.02.2023
UNDER THE CUT
We went to the vet today.
TL:DR - she is on medications for the next two weeks, roughly. She did very good at the vet and was very brave. $500 was close, it will come out to be roughly $700 all together after ear mite treatment; we are holding off for now until the other cat in the house can be treated or they will just jump between them, which gives some more time to get there funds. But the over the counter medications are not strong enough to fight the infestation, and depending on severity, it could lead to long term health problems.
So I changed it from $550 -> $750 (again, because they take a processing fee). I also added in there roughly $200 that had been sent from PayPal and Venmo to give a more accurate show off current raised funds.
Below are screenshots of the update explaining more, along with pictures of Jolene at the vet today.
(Straight up, I almost cried because in the right two months that I have had her this was the first time she had crawled into my lap to lay down and cuddle with me.)

Hi Hell, congrats on the exciting foster kitten news!
I just applied to adopt a kitten and had my interview for her today. The woman seemed most interested in convincing me of how terrible dry food, traditional litter (she preferred clay), and tap water is for cats. She said the carbohydrates and ingredients were terrible for their kidneys, the dust in litter is bad for their lungs, and the chlorine in water is harmful. I have a 12 year old cat named Scipio who has been using those things all his life, and now I feel guilty and scared for his health. He seems perfectly healthy to me but she said “cats are stoic.” What do you use with the Tiny Terrors? Is she extreme?
Well, I'm not a vet, so the actual answer is that your cat should be getting what their doctor recommends. But I've had those conversations with people before, and I can give my two cents--just take it with a grain of salt.
So...it's basically always true that you can spend more money on fancier 'health' options and there is, to some extent, benefit to the pricier choices. But there's a point at which that benefit is pretty minimal compared to what you get for the midrange price options. This is as true for pet health as it is for people health.
It's true that wet food is usually a better option for cats. Among other things, it helps them stay at a healthy level of hydration, can be easier on their digestive systems, and is often more palatable for cats who are elderly or have dental problems. But that doesn't mean that dry food is inadequate--Mal and Vice used to split a can of wet food daily, and graze dry food whenever they wanted. They're currently eating almost exclusively dry food, because Vice is on a sensitive skin and stomach diet to help address his overgrooming. I would avoid the bottom-end dry foods, because they seem prone to contamination, but that's more manufacturer quality than an issue with the dry food generally. Dry food is usually a nutritionally complete way to feed a cat, and there's nothing wrong with it.
Mal and Vice drink tap water. They have a bowl of still water, and a fountain with an inbuilt filter. The fountain is because if they don't have running water, they will make running water by splashing their bowls all over. I can't speak to chlorine but it's definitely healthier than drinking out of puddles, which is what they would be doing if left to their own devices.
They use clay litter because that's what's effective and affordable. When I'm changing it out I generally give it a few minutes for dust to settle before I let them at it--someone always wants to make a deposit in the clean box--but there's pros and cons to all the litter options out there.
In a perfect world with infinite resources, I'd be feeding the cats a careful balanced diet of fresh-prepared meats and filtered spring water, and they'd take dumps in a tiny kitty toilet that cleaned itself without my help. But that's not really practical or achievable for me, my life, or my cats, and frankly, it's not necessary. I want them to have a good life. It doesn't need to be a perfect one. If your cat is doing well, and their vet is giving them a clean bill of health, you probably have nothing to worry about. I'm not a professional; you should consult your vet and research options for yourself (which is what I do) but you're not doing anything wrong here.
I will say that when I was going through the process of adopting Mal and Vice, some places (usually private rescues) wanted me to jump through INSANE hoops to even apply. I respect that their hearts are in the right place, but... There are hundreds of kittens in shelters right now that need homes desperately, and the quality of the cat has very little to do with the quality of the rescue--they might have more or less vet work done, depending on where they're coming from, but nobody's managed to fundamentally change the nature of the beast. If you can provide a safe home, food, clean water, and attention to a cat, that's really all they need. The rest is just gravy.

Currently reading through the spiderpool blog and just finished the civil war era. That alternate timeline where Pete is an assassin, of course we know Ben is alive but what happens to that version Ben and May? I wonder if they know what he is doing and if they are still even apart of his life.
oh, anon. anon... it's a sad little tale,, it's a sad little story. i do imagine that this specific peter parker pursues his career of fame and fortune, and becomes vain and horrible. a real "talk to my agent!" kind of asshole.
Tumblr media
and initially, he still cares for uncle ben and aunt may. they're the only two people in the world who loved him properly. but... but. fame goes to his head. the old cliché. he's making bank, and – there's less urgency for him to stay to support aunt may because uncle ben's still around, so, peter kind of goes his own way. very quickly he can afford his own apartment by doing tv deals and very quickly he's signed on for a movie deal. he is hot shit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
of course all of that fame and being so busy and being so secretive and spider-man's identity still being a secret to the public and to ben and may means that he ultimately grows distant from may and ben. he skips school to pursue fame, doesn't think he needs it. and i mean, the guy hates high school. it's a living hell for him. he's given an out - of course he'll take it. he doesn't graduate high school. doesn't get a college education. doesn't tell uncle ben and aunt may because obviously they wouldn't endorse him dropping out of school.
they wouldn't get it. they wouldn't understand. he becomes a mystery to them. they don't know where he goes, what's going on with him. he's barely home and then he, so very quietly, moves out with all the money he's made.
fame is fickle, though, and - spider-man doesn't capture peoples hearts for the long-term. spider-man doesn't inspire heroism in this world. he doesn't waste his effort on selfless deeds. he doesn't become a heroic figure. hence why wade doesn't join weapon x.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the spider-man of this turn of events doesn't amount to more than a quick cash-grab, and the people are over him so quickly. people who worked with him realise he's kind of a jerk, and isn't even pulling in money anymore. spider-man becomes a has-been before he even reaches his twenties.
Tumblr media
so, this spider-man lives alone - can't face uncle ben and aunt may because he's quickly realising that yeah. he made the wrong choice. he dug his grave, and he has to lay in it. he's a drop-out, and he feels like peter parker is entirely worthless. he can barely look at himself in the mirror. at least as spider-man he has some power. some reputation. something. peter parker? peter parker disappeared off the face of the planet some years ago, and nobody knows who or where he is. peter parker is dead and neglected. there's no future for peter parker. so he builds a life with the skills that he has, as spider-man. he does what he's good at. becomes hired muscle. becomes hired muscle for anyone that can pay his rates. those are usually bad guys.
he falls deeper and deeper into that rabbit hole. and the further he falls, the harder it is for him to conceive he could ever come back to uncle ben and aunt may and have them welcome and accept him, with all the mistakes he's made.
unfortunately, in this particular timeline - as bex and i'd plotted it out for the alt!verse fic where wade winds up trapped with this sad, isolated peter parker - it still takes uncle ben dying to destroy peter's barricades and have him finally reach out to aunt may, in his way. first distantly offering her financial support before he, after months, eventually gains the courage to face her. and she can see the scars on his face.
Tumblr media
i think it kind of universally takes uncle ben dying for peter to learn "great power great responsibility" - not as peter interprets or misinterprets it, but... the loss of uncle ben meaning peter recognising he has a responsibility to the people around him. he can't disappear from it. he can't isolate himself from it. when uncle ben passes, he finds out he has a responsibility to aunt may. that's kind of the whole thing, that's what great responsibility is. him filling uncle ben's shoes.
i think that's something i'm obsessed with - that peter knows that the loss of uncle ben means he needs to step up and fill ben's shoes, but he's still not entirely sure what it means. what he has to do to be able to fill that void that's left empty by ben's absence. what ben meant. what manhood means.
great responsibility is about manhood, and looking after the people you love. it's not - it's not about what you owe the world.
i think peter unfortunately has to learn that lesson the hard way, every time.
but, eventually, at some point, peter comes home.

One thing that’s been lurking about in the back of my brain for a little while but has really kind of hit home as I read Woolf again and see all these L. M. Montgomery posts is how deep a feminist streak runs through Montgomery despite how little her work is talked about as such. And I think the locus of this female self-determination rests on her obsession with place. Woolf talks about the creative woman needing a room of her own, and Montgomery extends that to a house of her own. EVERY heroine has an almost pathological closeness or identification with either her childhood home (Green Gables, New Moon, and Silver Bush) or the home that represents adulthood and building an independent life (the Disappointed House and the Muskoka cottage). Nature and connection to the natural world obviously plays into these connections and contrasts with actual patriarchal ownership of these properties. In addition, despite how much of a “romantic” writer LMM seems, she also expressly links marriage to property ownership and personal empowerment through being mistress of a house. She mentions this everywhere (the condition of being an old maid always means dependency too but often on relatives and less sympathetic people) but I think of this particularly with Emily and Pat: Emily loves that Dean will let her live in the Disappointed House more than Dean himself, and that Emily will rescue it from disappointment is side by side on the page with her wedding to Teddy. Pat makes Silver Bush into her world and can only make a change in her life once the house is gone (the fact that her childhood lover comes back to her literally at the ruins of the burned house always stayed with me. It feels like a very obvious exchange of loves).
A last thing on the subject of feminism though is in Tangled Web, when Margaret Penhallow’s (most unusual for LMM but also in some ways the most on theme) choice of using her money is to buy a house and adopt a son. House-keeping and child-rearing are both traditional feminine tasks yet the fact that Margaret does them alone and independently shows LMM’s priorities and desires to shake off the natural connection between having a husband and being able to have a place of your own.
I’m almost 100% sure LMM and Virginia Woolf would never have read each other’s works and probably wouldn’t have liked them if they did, though considering they were contemporaries, I enjoyed teasing out similar resonances in how they describe the female condition of their time.

@rickgrimesdoingrickthings cont.
"I've brought this as an offering...hoping you would hear out my request." ... He had learned the art of sword, had a strong moral code, was chosen to be part of the patrol of the small burgo- however one night, he wasn't enough. A group of bandits attacked, desiring nothing more than a cross of gold the baron owned. He should have hired more soldiers, suspecting the marauders could come. The men killed the weaker guards- Rick alone had no chance- the marauder leader even allowed Richard the chance to just...leave, no one else had to get hurt. But his stupid honor...made him fight. Not only he was severely beaten by the gang, he was humiliated. They stole the cross from the vault, dragged Rick along until they found his house, stomped the door open, humiliated him in front of his wife, slashed his face with a blade under his eye, leaving a scar, a mark of shame and defeat- and to send the baron a message, they cut Rick's arm off with an axe, then burned the wound- up to half his forearm. The small village heard all the screams, but did nothing, in fear. Once Rick recovered, he was expelled from the city. His wife didn't want him anymore, saying he wouldn't be able to work and provide, saying he was stained her name, that he was a shame. The nobles there wanted him to go- they were afraid- wanted to forget what happened- to many, he wasn't even a man anymore. 'Better leave before you make debt here and becomes a slave.' An old couple said, giving Rick some bread and a short cloak so he would protect himself from the cold. 'Good luck my son.' Both were sad, but he had to go. After walking for days, taking breaks, surviving in the wild, he found a village' it had walls. A new place. He asked for information, they said it was up to their leader accept him or not. Their culture seemed different...less...arrogant. He had nothing though, not even his right hand or a sword to fight. His clothes were beaten, cotton and leather getting worn out. Rick walked to the sunflower fields he had passed by and collected some flowers- that was all he had to offer. No strength to walk farther, no money of food- not even a decent body to offer, missing half an arm and face marked, maybe the scar would soften with time and fade, but his hand wouldn't heal back. Intrigued by the sadness and determination in his eyes, the gatekeeper let Rick in. Once he had the chance to talk to the leader, he lowered his head, cloak hiding his amputation, it still brought him shame and bad memories. "I've brought this as an offering...hoping you would hear out my request." He took a deep breath. "Any work...I'll do. I know many things, I can be useful. I will be. Please. Let me stay." On the road he wouldn't last much longer- unarmed and tired, bandits probably would kill and violate him for fun, or maybe some animals would hurt him. He was hungry and thirsty and dirty, on his knees, which were so heavy and hurting. He was slowly setting, like the sun. Maybe he would faint right there. He was asking for help. Begging. He needed.
It was not wholly unusual to see types like him wandering throughout the woods surrounding the village. Lost souls, banished for whatever reason. Was it better, to let them wander instead of rot away in a cell, forgotten? They had commit no crime, or crime worthy of a sentencing, but still, they were shunned from their communities. More than once, her walls had been a half-way home of sorts for these travelers. Some stayed, some left, she always gave them the choice. Crimes were dealt with swiftly, but accidents, mistakes, those were never good enough reasons to her.
Dressed much like a man in leathers and wool, Fox looked upon the traveler from beneath her hood. Examining him when he could not do the same. Leaning her elbows on her knees, legs spread, taking up all the space in front of the throne, she waited to see if he would faint. He looked like he could at any moment. Such a frail thing, he was. After another moment, she gave a silent command with the slight lift and fall of her head. Beside her throne, a knight in light mail stepped forward. A hand on his sword hilt as he approached Rick where he knelt. Carefully, he took the sunflowers from his grasp and returned to his monarch, bending a knee to present her with the gift.
Fox reached out, looking the flowers over. She whispered something and her knight spoke for her, voice booming. "This is a gift that shall die--will you too die, stranger of the woods? Or will you stand, take these seeds, and plant within these walls a garden?" He took a few steps toward Rick, one hand still on his sword hilt, but the other reached out. Offering him help up from the floor.
Leaning back in her throne, Fox waited again. Head bowed so that she saw the stranger only from his waist down. Not wanting to risk her identity being shown so soon. It was foolish to suffer the way he did and yet, still not want the sanctuary of a woman, yet there were others who had made that mistake. Spitting on the ground when she, a queen in name only, offered them life.

Teaser Tuesday- collision
“You don’t usually call us,” Philip said just an hour later, Buck’s feet scuffing every other step on the paved path he traveled five minutes away from Durand. He had about another hour until Christopher got out of school, and driving home, when the traffic would be all kinds of messy, just didn’t seem to make sense. Plus, Doctor Krikorian had told him that it was a good idea to use his legs, rather than stay seated on them for long periods of time, and Buck had always been a pacer when he was talking on the phone. “Especially not so late in the afternoon.”
Buck frowned as he mind did the quick math - two in the afternoon meant that it was five in Pennsylvania. It wasn’t exactly late. “Sorry.” He mumbled anyway and kicked his toe against a pebble.
“Is everything okay with Maddie?” His father asked around a hum, his voice dipping into a familiar concern.
Buck wasn’t shocked. It wasn’t very often that his parents would first ask about how he was doing, even if they had been the ones to reach out to him. They were even less inclined when he was the one to reach out - it was fair, he supposed. Buck didn’t usually call them unless Maddie was in trouble. “Yeah,” Buck cleared his throat. “Yeah, Maddie’s fine. She’s settling in really well at dispatch. Her coworkers love her.”
He was pretty sure Chim did too, but Buck didn’t know exactly how much their parents knew about Maddie’s romantic life and he wasn’t about to make things awkward by telling them about it. “That’s good,” his father always had a tone that he used whenever he was working. Buck could picture him, surrounded by the mahogany of his office, the plush red carpet and leather chairs. He would be bent over his laptop, or maybe a printed client file, and he wouldn’t look up until Buck was too silent to be normal. Dress shirt and slacks, glasses perched low on his nose. “What’s going on, Evan?”
A part of him wanted to bristle at the implication that Buck wouldn’t call if nothing was going on but he knew it wasn’t exactly an incorrect assumption. He wouldn’t call if he didn’t feel like he had no other choice. “I was hoping you could help me out.”
A paper rustled on the other end of the call. His father had shut his file and was, in turn, giving Buck his undivided, weighted attention. “What have you gotten yourself into this time?”
“I haven’t gotten myself into anything.” Buck defended with a glower down at the pavement. “Listen, I just need some advice -.”
“How much do you need?”
“How much advice?” Buck wrinkled his nose in confusion. “I mean, I don’t think it’s a lot -.”
“Money, Evan. How much money do you need this time.”
His bank statement flashed behind his eyes. Buck had more than enough to pay for Christopher to go whatever college he dreamed of, regardless of cost and still have some left over. He didn’t need money. “I don’t need any money.” Buck grumbled, his blood pressure spiking with the beating of his heart. “I just… do you have any friends that work in custody law?”
“Custody law?” Philip echoed. “Evan, you didn’t get some girl pregnant.”
“I didn’t get anyone pregnant, oh my god.”
“Don’t take that tone with me,” Philip laughed, as though his assumption had been a perfectly normal one to have (if it had been a few years ago maybe it was, but Buck had always practiced safe sex and he had always made sure his partners had done the same thing. It wasn’t like it was possible, with Eddie at least, for either of them to get pregnant, anyway.). “Why else would you be talking about custody law?”
And that was the crux of it, wasn’t it? Buck knew his parents didn’t care all that much who he was romantically with, they’d look at Eddie and his divorce with Shannon as messy and would, probably, try and paint Buck as their savior or whatever. But they didn’t know that Buck had been in a committed relationship with a man who had a child, and Buck was screwed if they found out that he had been in a relationship with Eddie while he was still married. They wouldn’t have cared about the logistics behind it - Eddie had had a responsibility and marriage vows and he should have, at least, been in the process of being an honest man before Buck had started sleeping with him (nevermind if Buck pointed out how hypocritical that belief was from the two of them - considering that Philip had dated his secretary when Buck was in high school (he only knew about that because the woman had been four years older than him and her brother had gone to school with him).). “Eddie, my friend -.”
“Your partner.” Philip corrected, his tone tilting into interest. “Your sister mentioned you were in a committed relationship.”
“Right,” Buck bristled at the idea of Maddie telling their parents anything but, well, Buck had been in and out of the hospital quite a bit during the last year. It only made sense that Eddie had come up in conversation. “Eddie’s ex-wife -.”
“Your mother and I were a bit shocked,” his father cut him off again with a belly laugh. “We didn’t think you’d ever want to settle down.”
“I’m just full of surprises.”
“You know what I mean, Evan.” Philip scolded. “You always made it seem like you wanted to… to travel the world. Be a bachelor forever.”
“I’ve lived in LA for four years.”
“And before that you barely settled in a town for longer than six months.” Philip laughed again and it stuck to Buck’s skin. “Margaret and I were just shocked. That doesn’t mean anything bad.”
Didn’t it?
Buck didn’t know.
He’d have to break down the entire conversation with Doctor Ocampo during their next session. Figure out why it made him feel like bugs were crawling all over his skin. “Okay,” Buck hated talking to his parents for this exact reason. He wanted to punch himself in the face. Maybe take off like a shot on this path and screw up his leg more than it would eternally be screwed up. “Eddie’s ex-wife is suing him for custody. I don’t think she has a case, but I’m not a lawyer.”
“Does Eddie have a full name?”
“I don’t see why that matters.”
Philip sighed like he was tired of listening to Buck speak already. His seat creaked when he leaned back in it. “How old is their child?”
“Chris is eight.”
“Was a custody agreement signed when they got divorced?”
“Yeah. Eddie has full custody.” Buck wracked his brain for the exacts of it all. “Shannon has visitation, but only as he sees fit. They-they wrote in the paperwork that he could rescind it whenever he saw fit.”
“I’m assuming he rescinded that visitation.”
“Yeah.” Buck agreed softly and shifted his shoulders away from a group of passing college students. “She.. she abandoned them a few years ago. Like, full on, no contact. I know that means that in California she has no legal claim to Chris but, but, I don’t know what it means if she’s been in contact with them for the past one? And Eddie already has a lawyer but so does Shannon, and she’s like…” Like mom, he almost said and caught himself at the last second, cheeks burning. “She’ll do whatever she can do to break him down.”
“Slow down, Evan.” Philip chided. “You know I can’t follow you when you ramble.”
Right.
“I have an old law school friend that works out in Ventura. He’s the perfect guy for cases like these.”
“Eddie already has a lawyer.”
“A divorce lawyer,” Philip clicked his tongue. “I’m sure she’ll be able to suggest a colleague as well, but I want you to have all of your options.”
“Oh, uhm… okay.”
“Of course, Chase is expensive, but if you tell him who you are I’m sure he’ll give you a discount.” Philip continued. “He usually works in employment law, but he has a good history of custody and family law as it’s needed. Does your partner’s ex-wife pay child support?”
“No. Eddie’s never asked her for a cent.”
“Good,” Philip drummed his fingers on his desk in the background. “I’m taking your mother out for dinner, I’ll start the introduction to Chase when we get back. You’ll have his information in your inbox by tomorrow.”

I have a question: Do you know if the series explains why Dr Dorado did not take his family to the United States? I am aware (as an Argentinian) that Eduardo and his father are a bit stereotyped but the choice for Mr. Dorado to leave his family in Argentina is a bit strange. Because otherwise, the only explanation I see is that his job was considered dangerous, so he decided to leave his family to prevent them from being hurt. (Sorry for coming straight to you with this question but I have a hyper fixation on Edu and you are the one I see the most in his tags 😅)
no worries i’m happy to answer edus my boy i love talking about him :D (lmfao my bad for practically spamming his tags 😭)
i like ur explanation ! i can see that being a reasoning, i mean we know that STAR labs is always involved in all sorts of stuff so …
the show has never given any particular reasoning for why Sr left his son with either his (or his wife’s) father (i.e Eds granddad). All we know is that Sr studied Zeta-beam tech for two decades and at some point moved to the US.
i don’t have one explanation set in stone, but here r some possible reasons he could’ve just went himself without his son (they’re not necessarily the most logical, just possibilities): either he felt like he didn’t want to remove his son from a place that he knows as home and had enough trust in the granddad being able to take care of him in the mean time. Considering Ed was young when his dad left, sometimes parents feel like they don’t want to remove them from an environment they feel comfortable with.
or if they would’ve moved, he’d either have to take the grandfather with them or possibly just leave him alone, which he maybe didn’t want to do and felt better leaving Edu behind with him too to give him company (doesn’t make it right but again parents can think like this sometimes). Also he might’ve thought sending money back to them might’ve been more fruitful than having the full family with him. Old people can feel very strongly about not wanting to leave their home behind.
Sometimes also with ppl who leave the country they don’t necessarily plan on just staying there, they return back (in this case to Argentina) frequently. And with the zeta tubes maybe this was something easy for Sr to do at first, but i can see this becoming less and less through the years (just something that i feel like can naturally happen especially with someone so consumed by his work like Ed Sr) and Ed grows more angry and pissed at his dad for being there less and less and that’s what prompts him to say fuck it and runaway to go to his dad.
Also we know that Eds mom is not in the picture (for unknown reasons, either leaving the family or because of death) so maybe Sr didn’t want to be around the place and people that might remind him of her as much and distance himself.
But I see this as unlikely cause despite all his shortcomings, Sr is shown to care very much about his son. I feel like a likely reasoning would’ve been something that started with good intentions but then through the years just didn’t work out as well as he hoped, prompting Ed to run away from home.
i also think something worth considering is he maybe felt the granddad would be able to take better care of Eduardo than him, because he knows how much work takes up his life and he wouldn’t want to be an absent father to a son who’s then alone most of the time in a new place and new environment. He might’ve reasoned to himself that it would’ve been better for Ed to stay home with his granddad who would be there when he needs him. And he would then try to visit when he can.
the logical thing would’ve been to take his family with him, but people often try to make things work out despite it not necessarily being the easiest or best solution.
so no the series doesn’t say anything about it, but i would sure be interested to know what reasoning they have :) thanks for the ask <3

Fic masterlist
While on the mission, Pope and the guys find a girl tied up in the basement of a drug lord. Through a few unforeseen circumstances, the girl and Pope get separated from Will, Frankie and Benny and have to find their way back in the woods. She doesn’t talk, is malnourished and traumatized, and Pope has the instinct to protect her at all costs.
(Pretend this is him leaning over a railing while talking to Fish okay)
WARNINGS!!!: for whole fic there’s gonna be violence, mentions of blood, mentions of sex trafficking, ptsd, sexual trauma (past), physical trauma, gunshots, eventual smut!! Don’t read just for the smut tho cuz it’s not smut focused.
Warnings: UUUHH maybe nothing really? Will being a dick? kissing? at worst? Kinda soft, lil angst then soft.
I wrote this,,,, SO TIRED. Not my best work tbh. I think I'm gonna keep updates to once a week until Sunshine Starlight Sweetheart Brightside is done bc between this, SSSB, Seattle, the han solo story ive been trying to finish for two years, and the one shots i wanna do AND taking 19 credits and working 4 days a week.... it's a lot. I want my work to remain as good as I know I'm capable of. Thank you for all for patience, and thank you for all your lovely encouragements! Fanfiction writing can be so thankless sometimes, it makes me so emo-tional to see your nice words. In the mean time, come read Sunshine! I've been told it's pretty bingeable if I do say so myself. I see a lot of people like it chapter by chapter and inhale it in a day or two. 27 chapters out of 33!
*****************
“Home sweet home” Santi opened his front door, trying to sound as enthusiastic as possible, despite being exhausted from the flight. He let her in, holding the door as she wandered in, carrying her backpack. Lace had refused to let Santiago Garcia carry it. He was already carrying his bags plus one of Benny’s, and she already felt uncomfortable with her dependance on him. Benny’s friend had picked them up, dropping Santi and Laci off at his place. Frankie and Will had stayed behind for a few extra days to finish what they were supposed to all do in the days after they raided the house. Unfortunately, between Santi’s disappearance from the house and Benny’s gunshot wound, they had gotten side tracked. Will had a fucking fit about Santi leaving, which had turned into some choice words and a Frankie once again having to separate them before it got too far. Frankie, who was less than thrilled about Santiago leaving with Laci, agreed Santiago should go. Ben wanted to stay as well, but his shoulder was still out of commission. Frankie also thought it was a good idea to separate Will and his injured brother to allow Will space to calm down without constantly seeing his brother damaged
Laci took in the space. She wore pants and a long sleeve, covering the array of bruises she was still recovering from. She turned to him with a smile. ‘It’s nice’  The place wasn’t huge, but it was clean, it was safe, and it was his. After he had retrieved the money that was thrown in the canyon, Santi had split it with his 3 other friends. Most of them felt… wrong, having the money, so they all kept the money aside for emergencies, donated a lot, and made a few smart purchases. All of them had bought houses, no mortgage. At the very least, they’d always have a home.
“It’s late, but we can go to the store tomorrow and get you set up with some more clothes, anything else you need.”
She turned to him, nervous and shaking her head. “It’s fine”
“No, Lace it’s okay, let me do this.”
“I’ll be fine. I’ll get a job and get out of your hair” She dodged his eyes again. They had made a lot of progress, she was talking more freely, but she never held his eyes for long.
“Lace…” Pope wondered how he could make her see, make her believe that he just wanted to help her. He took her hands, careful not to startle her. “This… this is your home now. You can stay here as long as you need, I mean it. Don’t worry about working until you’re ready. Let’s get you set up with services, counseling, medical… Don’t even think about work yet.”
She leaned into him, holding tight on his hands but looking away. “Expensive.” She muttered.
He sighed. “Listen, it’s a lot to explain but… I came into some money recently. Don’t worry about that. Just…” He took her face in his hand, turning her face to him, and she finally looked at him. “Lace, let me take care of you” He kept her eye contact, watched her eyes searching his face. She was looking for a hint of a lie, of malicious intent. She found nothing but tenderness.
Before Santiago even had a moment to react, her lips were on his. He kissed back the moment their lips met, purely on instinct. When his brain caught up and realized it was her, it was her lips, chapped and hesitant, he kissed back with more fervor, wrapping his arms around his waist and she melted into his arms. Then, he realized what was happening. Santi pulled away, taking a few steps back and away from her, disgusted with himself.
“I’m sorry” He said all too quickly, as soon as he saw her distressed face. “I shouldn’t have done that.”
He expected her to cry or panic, he didn’t expect this response. Her face set into a nervous determination. She pointed at him and shook her head. Then she pointed at herself. ‘You didn’t do it, I did’
“I know,” He clarified. Here he was with a traumatized and vulnerable girl in his home, she probably felt obligated to sleep with him, she thought that's what he wanted… He scrubbed his face, then looked back at her. Laci’s face was red, looking at the floor. She was embarrassed. “Can we just… let's pretend this never happened, okay? Finish showing you around?”
She nodded, not talking. Santi fought the urge to sigh again. Two steps forward, one step back. “C’mon, I’ll show you the yard.” He wanted to just block out the last two minutes from their collective memories. He started walking toward the sliding glass doors, but stopped when he heard her footsteps stop. He turned around and saw her staring at his bookshelf, staring at the 5 porcelain dolls on the top shelf.
She cocked her eyebrow up at him with a teasing smile. ‘Yours?’
He smiled, happy the tension was gone. “My sister’s, actually.”
Laci grinned, still lookin at the pretty, well cared for dolls, but was slightly nervous. She pointed to the house in general “does she live here?”
Santi’s kind smile waved a tad. “She died. It’ll be two years next month. Overdose.”
She turned to him, but he remained focused on the shelves, so she turned back. After a moment, she spoke. “My brother. I was 20. He raised me after our parents died.” Another pause as Laci took a shaky breath. “Suicide.”
Santi took her hand.
******************
A week later, Santi was parking his car on Frankie’s street. “You sure you’re okay? We can still turn around, Fish will understand.”
Laci had thought she was hiding her anxiety well, but somehow, Pope always knew what she was thinking. This was helpful, seeing as she still hardly spoke. It came and went in moments, he was never exactly sure what caused her to start or stop talking. If she was anxious or upset she shut down, but sometimes there didn’t seem to be a cause.
She looked at him with a little smile. ‘It’s fine. You want to go, so we’ll go.’ The two of them had gone everywhere together this week, every appointment and every meeting with a social worker or doctor. He wouldn’t leave her at the house alone, and he knew she would insist on going despite her reservations. She had asked who was coming. Pope knew that was code for ‘is Will coming’. The two of them had yet to interact. With Frankie, at least, he made an attempt to speak to her, dropping by when he got back to the states and asking yes/no questions to Laci so she didn’t feel left out. Will hadn’t been over, nor had be called. But she was fairly comfortable around Ben. Benny had been over a few times, and Laci even let Santi leave the room to go to the bathroom or get snacks, leaving her alone with Ben while they watched tv. Always Sunny in Philadelphia, of all things. It made him smile when he’d return to the room, watching her and Benny laughing out loud together.
They hadn’t addressed the kiss and neither made a move, but the tension was palpable some days. Her first full day there, she had tried to make him dinner while Pope showered. When he heard a bunch of banging, he rushed out, only stopping to wrap a towel around his waist and ran to the kitchen. He found Laci  cleaning up a bunch of pans that had fallen on the floor. Looking up, her eyes widened as she stared at his shirtless torso. When her eyes flicked up to him, they stayed like that for a moment, Santi trying to read her face. He was good at it, he usually knew what she was saying or thinking… right then, she was unreadable.
She took his hand as Pope let himself in through the back gate and she took in the scene. It was a small gathering, Frankie had promised that it would just be the guys. Frankie usually held a cook out when everyone comes back from a mission, a way for everyone to decompress. Usually, it was a fucking party. Alcohol, lots of friends, family, and any random stranger Benny had met off the street that day. Today was small. Ever the peacekeeper, Frankie was hoping Will would warm up to Laci. Fish recognized, even if Pope was in denial, that Laci was going to be  part of things for a long time. On a phone call with Ben while he was still out of the country, Benny had told him he thought something was going on between the pair, that they were absolutely inseparable. Benny was the one that noticed Santi’s watch was missing on the flight, and relayed the story Pope told him to Frankie.
“Hey guys!” Benjamin Miller swaggered over, hugging Santi and putting his hand on Laci’s shoulder. “C’mon! I’m on grill duty” It was a warm day, and now that Laci got to pick out her clothes, he found she liked to wear a lot of flowers. Her dress today was pink and white floral and a flowy skirt.
“Oh god,” Pope muttered, following the blonde boy.
“Relax, Garcia. Fish is cooking, I’m just in charge of making sure the burgers don’t burn.” Benny, Laci and Santi stood on the deck for a few minutes before Will opened the screen door, and he felt Laci tense.
He was carrying pop, tossing one to Ben and one to Santi, one for himself.
Santi called him out. “C’mon man, don’t be a dick.” He felt Laci’s hand on his arm, and turned to see her face. ‘Let it go’
Will rolled his eyes and cracked open his pop. Benny handed his to Laci “Here, I’m grabbing a beer” He walked into the house, grabbing Will with him and shutting the glass door, no doubt about to chew out Will.
Santiago turned to her “Sorry Lace, he’s being a dick.”
“You don’t have to… defend me or anything. I don’t want you guys to start fighting…” After learning about Santi’s sister’s death, and how most of his family is gone, she started to realize what these men meant to him. She didn’t want to be the one to cause any more problems than she already had.
Will and Benny returned, Will looking irritated but calmer. “Here” He handed Laci a snack pack of cheetos. A small gesture, but a gesture nonetheless.
Laci kept looking at the floor, but touched her hand to her mouth, then moved it out. ‘Thank you’ in sign language. Ben had taught Laci several basic sign language phrases to prepare for the party. All the guys know passable sign language, and this way she could communicate a few things without having to talk or have Santi translate her facial expressions.
When the door opened, Will’s grumpy face lit up. “Here’s the woman of the hour!” And held out his arms to snatch the little girl from Frankies arms. The one year old practically dived into Will’s arms. It was strange for Laci to see Will not glowering. One by one, each of the guys held the tiny toddler, Laci was absolutely enthralled with the sight of Santi holding the adorable girl, blowing raspberries on her stomach.
“Laci?” Frankie spoke up. “Would you like to hold her?”
Laci nodded frantically, and held out nervous arms for Frankie’s daughter. The 18 month old was hesitant to leave her tio’s arms, but once she was in Laci’s around, she put her little hands on Laci’s face. It was an immidiet bond between the two.
“Rosie,” Frankie steps over to the two girls, tickling the toddlers neck. “Meet Laci. Laci, this is Fatima Rosa Maria Morales Ferndanez. Or Rosie, as we usually call her, when she’s not in trouble.”
Benny smiled at his friend and his niece. “Powerful name for a powerful little girl.”
Frankie noticed Laci’s eyes welling up and her lip quivering. “You okay, Laci?”
Santi kicked himself for not picking up on her discomfort, moving to take Rosie out of Laci’s arms, but Laci held on, looking at the little girl adoringly. She turned and whispered to Santiago, who then turned to his friend, smiling. “She said she’s beautiful, Frankie.” Frankie smiled back.
The evening had been delightful. Santi always enjoyed seeing the guys, especially after a particularly stressful mission. Even if Will was being a bit of a dick. It wasn’t bad, Will knew how to tow a line, that was for sure. Just enough where Santi didn’t feel it was worth making a scene, but enough where his irritation was growing. Laci was mostly oblivious, she had Rosie on her hip, even so much as straying away from her ever-attachment at Santi’s side to play with her in the grass. Santi leaned over the deck, beer in hand as he watched her.
“I think Rosie has a friend.” Frankie joined him, looking at his daughter lovingly.
“Yeah.” Santi’s smile was huge. Frankie knew he was down bad.
“How’s she been adjusting?”
“She’s doing alright, considering. Therapy starts next week and she’s been to a few medical appointments, got her on meds, a diet to get back the nutrients she lost. Dentists gotta do some work, shit like that. She’ll have… she’ll have her moments. It’s hard to watch.”
Frankie nods. “What do you mean?”
“Sometimes I’ll find her asleep on the couch watching tv. She had to get on medicine for the nightmares, they seem to help, but she likes the light. She says the TV helps her focus. She watches Friends reruns. She doesn’t even like Friends, It’s just something else to think about, nothing serious, stupid sitcom.” He paused, unsure if he should say it, but if he could be honest with anyone, it was Fish. “She kissed me”
Frankie laughed. “Oh yeah. She kissed you.”
Pope turned to Frankie, finally looking at him “I’m serious!... I mean… I kissed back.”
“There it is.” Fish smirked.
Pope was defensive. “She did! Fish I would never want her to think she has to do anything just because I’m helping her.”
“But you wouldn’t mind if you and her… we’re together?.”
Pope rolled his eyes, “Well, she’s-” pretty he was about to say, turning back to Laci. She was on her back, legs up in the air with Rosie on her feet, playing superman. Laci’s skirt rode up, showing off the smooth curve of her ass. “Oh fuck” Santi and Frankie quickly turned out, but gave each other a side-eyed smile.
An hour later, Frankie was putting Rosie to bed, and Laci was back to Santiago’s side. When Frankie came back, everyone was gathered on the porch. “Hey Santi, I think you forgot something.” He tossed the watch to his friend.
“Fish, what the shit? How did you…?” Santi hugged Fish tighty “Hermano, how did you know I lost it?”
“Benny can’t keep a secret for the life of him.”
Benny meely shrugged, smiling.
Will, however, was confused. “Wait, is that Fatima’s watch?” He looked back and forth between Fish and Pope. “Why does Catfish have it?”
“I um…” Pope hesitated, his grin fading. “When we were in the forest, I sold it to get some food and water…”
“What the fuck Pope?” Will looked irrationally irritated.
Frankie put a hand on Will’s arm, trying to calm him. “Calm down.”
Will shrugged him up. “You sold Fatima’s watch because of her? Jesus Pope, what the hell?”
Pope put himself in front of Laci instinctively. “Back the fuck off, Ironhead. Now.”
Will look at Santi condescendingly. “What is she doing to you man? She almost got you killed, now you’re just being her bitch”
Ben saw it coming before Santi even made a move, smacking Frankie, signaling him to move. Ben grabbed Pope, holding him back as he went to punch Will and luckily, Frankie caught Ben’s message and grabbed Will’s shirt, warning him not to do anything. Laci stepped backwards until her back hit the deck railing, and there she froze.
“What is your fucking problem Will?!” Santi shouted at the much taller man.
“Do you have ANY IDEA how close you came to dying, Pope? It’s a goddamn miracle you didn’t get your head blasted open! You and Ben could’ve died! Then what? Do we spit up the money again and give it to your non-existent family and pretend it’s okay? If Ben died, would you just give me a pat on the back and say ‘Oh, sorry!’ and move on?”
Santi was in too much of a blind fury to possess what Will was saying “None of that has ANYTHING to do with her!” Santi pointed to the scared girl in the corner of the deck, clutching onto the railing for dear life.
“I told you we needed to move, but you never fucking listen! You had to baby her, you had to play knight in shining armor and rescue the pretty girl, meanwhile Benny gets shot and you literally dodge a bullet!”
Benny mumbles something about not bringing him into this, but no one was listening. Benny knew he wasn’t getting anywhere. Santi and Will would hash this out, Frankie would stop them from killing each other. He looked over to see Laci scared as shit. Carefully, he walked over to her. Her eyes were shut tight, but she knew it was Ben, because she knew what Santi’s hand felt like.
“Enough!” Frankie shouted after a few more pointless back and forths. “You guys hear that?” Through the upstairs window, everyone could hear Rosie crying. “You guys woke up and probably scared the shit out of my baby, not to mention Laci.” Santi suddenly noticed she had left his side, and felt a tinge of guilt and jealousy to see her so scared, but also holding the handsome young man’s hand. “Santi, Will, go inside and fucking sort this out like adults.” He noticed Santi glance to Laci again. “She’ll be fine, man. Jesus, Ben will be here. I’m going to put my daughter to bed and I swear to god, if you wake her up again, we’re gonna have a problem.”
Will and Santi stormed off, and Frankie went upstairs to try and put his toddler back to bed. Benny and Laci stood in silence as Laci held his hand tightly. They couldn’t hear what Will and Santi were saying, but it sounded calmer. After a while, Will opened the door, looking embarrassed. “I need to talk to her” he told Ben.
 “No way man-”
“Okay.” The Miller brothers turned to Laci, eyes finally open and looking directly at Will for the first time.
Hesitantly, Benny let go of her hand, telling Will not to be an asshole, closing the screen door instead of the glass door. “Can I close the glass door? I don’t want them eavesdropping.” Laci nodded, and Will closed it. Much like Santi, Will scrubbed his face. “How much did Santi tell you about our history together.”
She held up her fingers together. ‘Very little’
“He tell you bout Tom?”
She shook her head.
Will sighed. “Last year, a mission went wrong. I got shot.” Despite how much of an ass he had been, he swore he saw a bit of pity on her face. “But we had another friend, his name was Tom. He got killed after things went very, very wrong and… I think I’ve always held onto a lot of anger and guilt over it. A lot of feelings I don’t know how to let out in a normal way. Seeing my brother get shot, and those few days where I thought Santi had been killed or taken, I think… Well I think maybe it brought a lot of feelings out. I don’t know if Santi told you, but Benn is my brother. My actual brother, I mean. I know we all refer to each other as brothers…” he trailed off, realizing he was rambling. “I thought I was going to watch him die…” He shuffled his feet, trying to figure out what he was trying to say.
Surprisingly, she spoke up, although barely audible ”I didn’t ask for any of this…”
God, that hurt. Of fucking course she didn’t. This poor girl had gone through hell, and here he was making her feel worse. “I know. And I’m really sorry. I’m not good at this kind of thing…” Despite his best efforts, his voice was just a little choked up. It was a high emotion week. “I don’t really have a good excuse, but I am sorry. I know you’re going to be around a while, maybe forever-” he cut himself off. He didn’t exactly know what Santi and her relationship was., and wasn’t sure if they knew either.“I don’t want to make an enemy out of you, and I don’t want to be the person who makes you feel worse.”
Laci thought for a second, then smiled a soft, nervous smile. She tentatively walked towards him. “It’s okay.”
He shook his head. “It’s not-”
She held up a hand. He didn’t need Santi to translate that. “I get… I get really angry sometimes. Sometimes I get angry at Santi and he did nothing wrong. He doesn’t know. I push it down. But sometimes I worry I won’t be able to stop it. It’s okay.”
Will nodded. He felt like they had an understanding, at least.
She walked past him, going to find Santi. When Laci found him, he surprised her with a hug. “Are you okay, Lace?” He asked, rubbing her back.
“Yeah, I’m great. Take me home please?” She nestled her head into his chest, taking in his smell.
On the drive home, Laci asked about the watch.
“My sister gave it to me a few months before she died.” He took it off, handing it to her. “The inscription translates to ‘count all the stars and add one more’ it’s about how much the singer loves someone. It’s a song by Jesse and Joy and it features Luis Fonsi” Santi turned to her, smiling sadly “I couldn’t stand Luis Fonsi, but my sister loved him.” He turned back to the road. “Her name was Fatima. Frankie named his daughter after her. He and I grew up together. Anyway, she gave me this watch as a half joke since I hated the song. Now it’s one of my favorites. I think she knew she was dying.”
Laci put her hand on his shoulder. Usually, their touches were for Laci’s sake. This was for Santi’s. “That’s really sweet, Santi. And I’m sorry.”
“I’m sorry, Muñecita. For Will.”
“I think Will and I are going to get along fine.” She turned to him. “I like your friends a lot.”
Santi smiled. “Yeah, I do too.

THANK YOU FOR READING! Reblogs help a lot, comments mean the world! lmk if you'd like to be added to my tag list!
Since google doesn’t really translate it, Muñecita means little doll. Muñeca is doll, and adding -ita makes a name or object diminutive.

1. So in ep 11 we meet Ignatius, a butler of Erika’s father. He seems to know that Erika existed, Erika rationalized that it is possible he was told about her by someone from Eldarya (thus Mnemosyne potion worked). So what does our MC says? After all that hard training with shadow master Nevra and Karenn, the Great? She asks him if “an earthling” told Ignatius about her.
An Earthling. Way to keep Eldarya existance hush-hush.
2. Also, the moment someone entered the room, both Leiftan AND Erika were ready to pounce. In her parents’ house. Gee, Erika, how about not assaulting your mom in her own home?
3. WILD LORE Erika was almost 20 at the start of TO. I still belive they said that she finished her UNI in TO... which would make her older, but yup, 18 years old Erika is more probable than someone who should be a bit... more mature.
4.
Tumblr media
It could be a good plot. Erika could care for her fathe  instead of her chIldlish “daddy works all day, while me and my mom have to sit in this dreadful luxurious house and have no worry for money and he even forced me to have dinners with his co-workers, woe is me!!!”. Make him a bit less 1 trait only. Make them have some connection. You know, so players would care a bit for the villain of the episode.
5.
Tumblr media
I wonder if this will be one of the abandoned plotlines of this season. Plp usually do not disappear, you know?
6. CHOICE. Ignatius admits that tho he thinks Charles IS cray cray, he stayed.
a) be nasty shit and tell him he has done it only for money
b) be decent person and say that Charles really needed his support (he smiles shyly, awwwww) <-
c) continue that strange narration MOTHER GOOD FATHER BAD and think that Ignatius was more loyal to Charles (who still believed Erika was somewhere alive) than to her mother (who went MIA)
7.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Listen. Listen. LISTEN FOLKS.
Erika knows that Ignatius is loyal to Charles. Loyal enough to endure his crazy antics.
She believes that Charles mustn’t know about Eldarya because BEEMOOV wants us to believe that Charles is evil and that Erika knows about it. Somehow. She doesn’t trust her father, she tries v v v clumsily to hide tracks of Eldarya from Ignatius.
So what is she telling Ignatius? ^^^
Way to calm down Ignatius and your father, dumbbitch. I am sure that when you leave the house you will have pleeeenty of time to do your research and that your father won’t try to find you when he will hear you were inprisoned.
8. And then we get this stupid Erika’s moment. Ignatius admits that her father ruined his life, his family trying to make them believe in Erika existence. That her father was working himself so much, that Ignatius thinks he has lost his marbles. That he goes to work than he stays alone, in his room (claiming to do research). So what that damn stupid bitch does? She came to conclusion that daddy didn’t try to do anything.
WHAT. THE. HELL. What was he supposed to do, Erika? He already has done much more that you did to your lost friends- ahem, Keroshane, ahem, Ezarel.
You know, I am done with this episode.

OC Families Part 1
Tumblr media
All of these images are made in picrew... I didn't do all of my ocs yet but I shared a ton of these on Discord... so I will share them here too. However keep in mind I might share less info than there cause some of it is... sensitive content. I will still mention some more abusive parents too so keep that in mind. Leroy, Henry and Mellows are already here... with that said lets start.
Matthew and Yunora Atsuki
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Parents of Lyla and Eikichi Atsuki, Dad was a scientist, mom was a Jazz singer and both inspired their children a lot on their kids... they were proud parents however also quite busy hence why their kids grew up becoming such scaredy cats not haveing their guidance... but at least they had their love.
Aurelia and Reginald Parton
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Parents of Barry and Paula, Reginald Parton is one of the most influencial and Rich men in the world while Aurelia his wife only really married him for his money... both are the reason why Barry was forced into this terrible view of not being able to live out other sexualities, having this toxic masculity and because they surpressed so much... Paula also left them to pursue herself and not be chained down anymore... Barry just wants their praise and love but... they even deem him replacable as an heir if he makes them too much trouble.
Joseph Dalton
Tumblr media
Joseph Dalton…. there is a reason Francine takes care of her siblings… he tries hard to work multiple jobs to provide his family but… trauma still hits deep…. he often looks tired, barely smiles… Francine worries about him a lot, he is also still kinda trapped in this friendship with Mr parton who often uses their old bond to guilttrip him.
Nozomi and Tetsuya Aimon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nozomi and Tetsuya Aimon… Parents of Yasuno and Yuzuha… Basically Tetsuya was a well off dad with money who at least was kind to his sons and worked hard day and night to provide his sons but was a pushover…their mom used that to just stay home, enjoy the lifestyle, not care about her sons and cheat on her husband a lot…. if the boys noticed they were usually threatned with violence not to tell on their father….
After Yasunos death… Tetsuya finally noticed the machinations of his wife and wanted to take Yuzuha with him to live alone… which is where they are now… Yuzuha however knew from his mom how to get the money needed to survive… hence his career choice as well. Yasuno after Revival changed his name to Innochi so his parents can't find him not knowing what happened and Yuzuha… well dad is now very done with his body and has troubles to keep on too.
Kaiyo and Hiroshi Suzanomoto
Tumblr media
Parents of Kaeru, Kaiyo may be small but she still managed to have 5 kids with Kaeru being the oldest of them keeping the Legacy to the fishing business… Hiroshi is still going out fishing with his kids while Kaiyo often plays around with dishes or guides people around the city. Their family in general is very huge and infamously known everywhere cause of their kindness.
Vierunar Family
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Atmos and Nephy Vierunar, Fabios parents kinda seem gruff and intimidating yet are genuine sweethearts who want thei kids to live to the fullest. They even approved of his situation as he actually wanted to leave the village in canon. Atmos is a healer while Nephy is a guardian for their Village... and they had Several kids:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Janic, Julie, June, Marton and Sebby, Fabios dearest siblings who work hard to still tend to the village and continue the legacy of the forrests will.
Louis Family that passed
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clementine and Remy Armarin... a sweet Noble pair that use their status to help many people in poverty to have a better life, they were proud of their vegetable garden as well as distributed some of it to the people who had troubles in town... however one day as Louis and Ava, his sister, went outside to play they came back to find their parents laying on the floor... lifeless and poisoned... since then Louis had to take care of Ava alone in this empty noble house that became abandoned after their parents death.
Tumblr media
Ava Aminella Valentine was Louis little sister he held dearly... however it got harder and harder to take care of her with him being still to young to take on a job and tend to her sickness that developed... and one day as he went out to get her medicine... she was gone when he came back, left the house cause she wanted to repair a gift he made her a while ago and... the cold winter was to strong... as Louis found her she was dead... of hypothermia.
Carols family
Tumblr media
Catherine Ann and Jonathan Ann are very much your standard married couple... Jonathan works in a Machine factory while Carols mom is a housewife who spends a lot of time sewing and knitting stuff as a hobby... her sister Megan ann is part of the Police force and is a reason Carol has a moral code that is high. In all she had a loving and sweet family if not a little overprotective.

Intentional with my time 💖💖💖
Today I wore a yellow long dress with flowers. I bought it few years ago from Rainbows. I love that store as a plus size woman. It can be hit and miss but you can’t beat affordable prices.
2024 I am being intentional with my time. The truth is time waits for no one. I learned this hard way in my 20s. I wish I knew what I know at 31. But that’s behind me. I must make peace with dropping the ball during my 20s. I had no real feminine hypergamy examples around me.
I actually started my level up glow up femininity hypergamy journey at 25. But was still naïve, immature, and didn’t know what I know. I wasn’t serious at 25 late 20s like I’m serious at 31 early 30s. It’s like I’m playing catch up. But it’s better to play catch up than to never start this level up glow up journey.
I also didn’t have this spiritual ability. I am so thankful I have strong spiritual ability where spirit and beautiful black communicate through me. It’s on my list to get medium reading to see which spirits and black ancestors channel through me. So glad I took out birth control and spiritual ability developed.
It’s my time to shine. My January gym sessions scheduled in my digital planner. And this pre booking beauty appointments. And my grandma is in New York while she is gone my step dad spoils me with takeout and I’m not giving it up. So I will look at restaurants menu and calories and pick in the middle food choices and enjoy my step dad spoiling me at my favorite restaurants and me not pay. Because that’s what men are for. He like my only example of a man financially providing for house and being a leader and provider.
I’m blessed to have him as good example and father figure. And giving me the option to be a stay at home daughter and working being option not requirement and my money being mine and no major bills where I can save money and follow my dreams and have hobbies. I am shopping addict. First step is acknowledging your bad habit and creating a plan and correcting bad habit and replacing it with good habit. And being realistic and not cold turkey. It’s small but I saved $100 on Cashapp savings. And refuse to touch it like I normally do.
Hard pill to swallow I learned bad money habits from my caretaker parent my adopted mom my grandma she goes through money and nothing to show for and pass on to love ones. Thankfully she has life insurance. She been on medicaid , ebt and public housing and have a lack poverty mindset and it’s all I saw.
So at im acknowledging my bad money management skills habits. Save today and wait for tomorrows pleasure. I felt so good saving $100 and what it can grow. I created a budget in note section of iPhone. And I pay my bills with gratitude 🙏. I’m thankful I have money period and more money is coming. Spirit and black ancestors sending me a financial blessing cause I bless black women in need and I currently don’t have much.
But at end of day you can’t tell me I’m not abundant. I know I’m abundant and I’m a money magnet and money grows on trees for me. I have a good relationship with money now. I can’t wait for my sp David match my importance of financial security for us and our 3 future kids. Pass on good money management with my future 3 kids.
I need spend less on mindlessly spending. And pay my two credit cards off and Affirm bill and student loans. I’m thankful my debt is small than others. Spend less on subscriptions and groceries and makeup and wigs.
I’m use the clothes I have now till I’m doing better financially and same for wigs, shoes, makeup, and skincare. Let step dad help me afford beauty treatments to keep my appearance up.
Yesterday I had like consultation coaching session with Destiny the confident hoe. And told her all my movement and how I’m off social media and intentionally using social media for good, fame and money. I can log out and it not control me. Seeing therapist tomorrow. And law of assumption coach I believe on Sunday. I have invested time and money on my level up and glow up and it’s worth it and making shit manifest faster.
So many making ideas and affirming for money so I can invest in businesses and side hustles and free money. 2024 I’m focused, putting action, faith in myself, spirit and beautiful black ancestors. Step dad treating me to Asian Habachi. Today I posted content and need edit productivity vlog for YouTube. Thank you for those who read and share my blog post. Affirming for hella followers. Until next time be well.

Siliven's Request Part 3
“I am not walking there on foot!” Sara exclaimed.
“The horse is too expensive,” Manas retorted.
They stood outside the town stable, glaring at each other. Nearby, the stable owner looked uneasily between them, while passerby stared at the strange and unsettling sight of a young lady having an argument with a Siliven.
“Did you forget that I’m a human? I don’t have the stamina of a Siliven! We walked all day yesterday, and my feet are covered in blisters. If you want me to keep going with you, either we’re catching a ride with someone else, or we get our own horse,” Sara stated.
Manas glanced from her to the horses, considering. It was true, humans had much less strength and endurance than Silivens. And female humans were generally weaker than the males, unlike the Siliven race, where the females possessed more stamina as well as more powerful metal abilities than the men. It hurt him to spend so much money on an animal. But he couldn’t afford to lose Sara.
With a sigh, Manas relented, “Alright. But we’ll have to find some sort of work in the next town, or else we won’t have enough money to eat. And you’d better not spend more than 30 coins on it.”
Sara smiled in relief and turned to the stable owner, who was sweating with nervousness at being so close to a Siliven. “Sir, do you have a horse I could get for 30 coins?” she asked.
Mopping his face with a handkerchief, the stable owner said hurriedly, “Oh, yes, whatever price you want, right this way.”
Manas watched from outside the barn as Sara wandered among the horses, inspecting each and petting some. He was not used to being around horses and would have preferred to go without them, but he had to admit that a horse would be a good idea. Yesterday, Sara had barely made it to this town, and she had been so exhausted she had not even eaten dinner. And this was only the first town since leaving her uncle’s home.
The girl was stubborn, for sure. Why, the other night she had demanded that he book another room at the inn because they could not sleep in the same one. To Manas, it seemed the most economical choice to sleep in one room, since getting another would cost 20 more coins. Yet Sara had insisted, saying that people would talk if they noticed the two together alone. Though Manas didn’t really understand, he had finally agreed so that she would shut up. Perhaps he should have chosen someone more submissive. Yet it was very rare to find someone with memory magic, and he would rather not spend more time looking. Besides, most people would not have accepted traveling with a Siliven. Well, he would only need to be with her until she could erase his memory. And then….and then….
At last, Sara came out, leading a white horse. “Her name’s Belle. A fitting name, don’t you think? She’s beautiful,” Sara said, patting the horse’s sleek neck affectionately. Belle snorted and shook her head, warily stepping away from Manas.
“Hmph,” Manas grunted with a shrug and started walking towards the town’s exit. Sara followed with a protest that he was being rude, but Manas ignored her. The next place they would visit would be another town, slightly smaller than this one. Based on what Sara had told him, she would most likely enjoy living in a small town or village. It might be harder to find a job for her there, but not impossible. He would make it work. At least until she fulfilled her part of the deal.
“It’s time you practiced on someone other than me,” Manas told Alaine. She looked up at him in surprise. They were eating in their room at the inn, now the seventh one they had stayed in since starting their travels. They had been hopping between towns, sometimes staying and working at odd jobs, most often waiting tables and cutting firewood for an inn. It had been difficult finding jobs that would take a young lady and a Siliven, but inns seemed more willing to hire these strange companions, at least for a few days.
In the evenings, Alaine had been practicing her magic on Manas, making him forget things that had happened during the day, then having him remember them. Though she was beginning to make him forget more complex things, she felt clumsy when she spoke the words. Saying a whole sentence just for one memory seemed tedious.Yet Manas had told her that eventually she would be able to think the words and not have to say them out loud, which would definitely make it easier.
“When we go to the market tomorrow, we will buy something from a seller. But just before we pay, make the seller forget that we haven’t paid,” Manas said.
“What!” Alaine exclaimed. “But that’s stealing!”
“Not if you make him remember,” Manas said, smirking at her. Alaine gritted her teeth. She was beginning to hate that smug look of his. “I’ll pay, don’t worry. It’s just practice for you,” Manas continued, seeing her glare.
Alaine hesitated. She wanted to argue no, she would not do it. It was wrong, even if they did ultimately pay for the item, because it would be deceitful. Yet, she was somewhat curious. Would it work if she used her magic onanother person, not just Manas? She hadn’t tried it on anyone else. “You promise you won’t cheat him?” Alaine asked warily.
Manas bowed slightly and said, “On my honor, I promise.”
Alaine sighed, wondering just how much she could trust his honer, but she agreed begrudgingly, “’Alright, I’ll do it.”
The next morning, they entered the market and approached one of the booths. The seller glanced somewhat uneasily at Manas, but began to show them his goods, consisting of some silk cloths and small items of jewelry. Alaine wondered why Manas had chosen this stall, but she shook her head slightly, took a deep breath, and focused. As Manas pointed to one of the necklaces, Alaine murmured quietly, “Sellers’ memory, forget that we haven’t paid.”
With a smile, the seller handed the necklace to Manas and said, “Thank you, sir, good day.”
Manas glanced at Alaine. Murmuring again under her breath, Alaine spoke, “Sellers’ memory, remember we haven’t paid.”
Blinking, the seller suddenly retracted his hand, looking confused. “Here sir, the money,” Manas said, handing the seller the coins. The seller looked somewhat relieved and handed Manas the necklace.
As they walked away, Manas commented, “Well, that wasn’t so bad, was it?”
Alaine frowned. “It still feels dirty,” she grumbled.
Manas chuckled. He handed her the necklace. “Here, for you,” he said.
Looking down at it curiously, Alaine saw that the necklace had a pearly white gem attached to it. “Why did you choose to get this?” she asked, puzzled. “We could have gotten food instead.”
With a hint of a smile, Manas replied, “Well, because you’re special.” Alaine glanced at him. She was never sure what he meant when he said that. “It’s a Wishing stone,” Manas explained. “It’s said to fulfill any wish the wearer makes, at least once. Thought it might be good for you to have some protection.”
Alaine gazed at the gem with new wonder. It glowed, as if with an inner light, swirls of white and grey pulling her gaze deeper into it. She was not sure if Manas merely wanted her protected so he could use her, or if he was really concerned for her safety, but she would take it. It was indeed a pretty stone. And on this journey, she would take all the protection she could get.

re: that last reblog, i also need everyone on earth to stop automatically linking "mother who doesn't work outside the home" with affluence, or framing "staying home with the kids" as a choice that only the monied have privilege to make. this PEW write-up from 2014 has a lot of interesting comparisons regarding moms who don't work outside the home, and one finding is that (as of 2012), mothers who don't work outside the home who are married to men who work outside the home are five times as likely to live in poverty as mothers in that same partnership category who do work outside the home. they also found that overall, the overall rates of mothers who don't work outside the home were quite similar for hispanic and asian mothers, and also quite similar for black and white mothers, with hispanic and asian mothers being significantly more likely than black and white mothers not to work outside the home (although there's an interesting difference in how this breaks down between black and white mothers regarding whether they're married to men who work outside the home or in a different situation - black women married who work outside the home are much less likely than white women in that situation to work outside the home, while single black mothers are much more likely to work outside the home than single white mothers). they also found that rates of working outside the home rose with educational achievement, so that the more education a mother had, the more likely she was to work outside the home. that's all pretty suggestive. meanwhile, i can't find a study that looks at income directly other than this obnoxiously titled screed from a conservative think tank, which i will thus link with reluctance; found that mothers in the wealthiest income category were most likely not to work outside the home, and mothers in the poorest income category were second most likely not to work outside the home.
this makes a lot of sense if you think about for even five seconds questions like "who watches a poor woman's toddler while she is off making minimum wage [assuming she is not working under the table for even less] and where exactly does all the money to pay for this childcare come for all these poor women who are definitely working outside the home," and IMO the fact that it's 2022 and people are still assuming a stay at home mom is a privileged white woman lucky enough not to have to work [who better hope she likes her husband a lot because it's going to be fucking hell to reestablish her economic independence if she decides to leave, because money you don't make or inherit is not actually your money even if it's paying for your very nice house] is... i don't even know what to call it. i just need everyone to turn their brains on a little bit more.

Start of Kiwami 2: Majima is free, Kiryu is depressed
So, in Majima's pre-kiwami 2 story we learn that anonymous guys from Togo decided to ask around and get people to send some money to Kiryu. Increasing sums over the span of time… and we don't know if Kashiwagi had a hand in this, but he was worried about Kiryu's perspectives after leaving Tojo again.
Majima, sending Kiryu money: Hah, this is kinda pathetic how eager I am to do it… I wish to see his surprised face tho, would be nice. Or just to see his face. Dang, I gotta end this through with a joke, it's getting too sappy.
Yeah, of course, Majima diligently transferred the payments, but the ever increasing amounts of them, and the wording of the letters really made us think that… barely anyone besides him contributed to this cause. Like. This was enough support money to live more or less comfortably with Kiryu working part time as a garbage collector.
– And yes. RGGO explains that during the year-long gap between kiwami and kiwami 2 Kiryu did exactly that. Worked at his part-time job, cared for Haruka, and… nothing else, apparently. Just imagine him coming home, chatting with Haruka a bit and then sitting in his tiny room, dissociating. Not thinking about how Reina and Shingi are dead. Not thinking about the fact that Yumi is dead (how he failed to protect her again). That Nishiki is gone, and it's unclear when he will be back again, if ever (we sent him to prison here). And this is not even touching the whole thing with Kazama.
Man sucker punched Kiryu's view of himself and his life choices one last time before kicking the bucket. And Kiryu might’ve forgiven him in the moment, because what else can you do when the man is dying and you've been hit with the life altering revelation you literally have no time to process. But living with this knowledge afterwards? Realising what it can do to Nishiki? What it is doing to you?
So yeah, Kiryu was very depressed, and very closed off from the world for a bit there. And it lasted up until the events of Kiwami 2 started, and got him out of the room, and made him enjoy life even.
(In our version of the story, events of almost all games take way longer time than in canon. For instance, plot of Kiwami 2 spans about 7 months, and ends, like in canon, at winter)
Majima, without knowing, was sponsoring his lonely depression streak there. Even canon confirms that Kiryu dropped contact with almost everyone at that time. But Majima didn't go out of his way to stay in touch with Kiryu either. At least at first. He had a lot to deal with and process after Shimano's death. About himself, his life, about Kiryu and what he means to him. Majima's whole life got turned around. So, naturally, he needed some space. From Kiryu especially.
– But then months went by. And even more of them. Majima sent Kiryu gift money (not knowing he's the only one doing so), gifted him his special knife, thought about him, missed him. Majima got closure with Makoto, finally letting that piece of his soul heal. Then he left Tojo, because it was the best decision at the time, and Majima's still the best manager. He became truly, actually free – with legal business and all of his boys with him. A lot of stuff happened.
So yeah, sure, Majima was doing his own thing for a bit there, and then so much time passed it seemed a bit awkward to make contact. But also, all this time Kiryu was right there in Tokio. And didn't even send a word to Majima. Nothing at all. After everything, he just dropped off the face of the earth.
And it's not like Majima is bitter about it or hurt. Oh no. He's deeply indifferent and passionately doesn't care. And everyone should remember that, if they don't want a special boink on their safety helmet, and the reassignment to toilet cleaning duty.
– So, when Kiryu decided to finally show up out of the blue, wanting something from Majima no less, with all of his "I need you", "you are someone I can trust". Of course Majima played it super cool and indifferent at first. And of course he made Kiryu fight him.
And did you notice that he finally really smiled only after that fight? Did you notice how Majima immediately gave in, and forgave Kiryu right there on the spot afterwards? Did your heart also missed a bit at that moment?

💛🌻 leave 5 facts about 3 of your ocs and pass them on to other people, asking them about an oc of your choice or let them choose what they want !! 🌻💛
*Claps my greasy paws excessively* Thank you, Rye <3 I'll actually do this one based on one of our latest conversations regarding what to read (absolutely no hurry) But here's some facts about characters you know less.... (I'd send this on to you, but I caught out the corner of my eye, that you are having a hard time picking characters, so I'll pass the next one I get onto you instead)
Tumblr media
1. He was once in a near fatal car crash. He only survived thanks to Andy's back then girlfriend (you read that correct, yes) being at the spot, and got him out of the car/to a hospital in time. He spent quite a while in a coma, and once he woke up, he had had facial reconstructive surgery and ended up with a different nose than his original. Congo was born with his fathers nose, but the surgeon didn't have much to go after from Congo's beaten up face, so he went through his wallet, found a picture of Congo's mother, and reconstructed her nose. Something Congo came to cherish, as he lost his mother while he was quite young. 2. He uses pine scented shower gel. 3. Doesn't really eat sugary things, unless it's his own homebaked pie. And he usually used brown sugar for that cause he likes the more spicy/earthy tones much more than the overly sweet regular sugar. 4. Is just as warm, caring and loving as you'd think he would be. He's just a genuine, wholesome, romantic big bear, who wants nothing more than to make everyone smile and feel comfortable, specially his loved ones. 5. Has a bit of an edge to him. But it's rare he lets that side of him shine through.
Tumblr media
Has extremely juicy lips. And that's basically all you need to know about him. 2. Is a very centered person, he stays calm and level headed in most situations, (apart from when he used to have a big depression) he's really just a rock in most people's lives and can carry most you throw at him. 3. He's quite deep, but isn't always fast at letting people in. To people not knowing him, he can seem quiet or reserved, and often has had a reputation of barely talking. He's quite open and talkative towards people who knows him, on the other hand. 4. Is really kind, helpful and giving. He cares deeply about the people close to him, and has often helped people get back on their feet. His friend (now husband) Daniel used to live with him for many years, cause Daniel was horrible at taking care of himself, and his money. 5. Loves with every fibre of his body. And there's absolutely nothing he wont do for the people he loves. Specially his kids, and Andy.
Tumblr media
Probably cheekier than Andy. 2. Daniel is quite... all over the place, and seems more like a funny, happy go lucky, random guy with absolutely no depth to him, he does have some depth to him, it's just not often it comes through. He simply prefers life to be easy breezy and as laid back as possible, though he also has quite an amount of energy he needs to burn off. 3. Having quite a crush on Willow for years. But is very lowkey and unserious about it. She's aware but doesn't date. 4. If you need real good weed, Daniel is your guy. And he's not cheap with it either, you can easily smoke with him for free. 5. You can often find him at the mall, where he talks to literally anything and anyone. If you don't find him there, you can often find him outside his home, working on his dirt bike.

Romy has a proper ref now hehe info under cut :))
Moved away from her parents in Opelucid to Nacrene City as soon as she was able to in order to pursue a career in art. They have a somewhat strained relationship due to Romy’s choice to live what they consider to be a less traditional lifestyle — they don’t see a future in an art based career, and as soon as they felt she was old enough, pushed for her to get married and start a family. Romy meanwhile has no interest in appeasing them.
Used to go on holidays to Hoenn to visit extended family in Lavaridge Town every summer up until she left home. She’d like to go back on her own at some point, without her parents, but is kind of nervous about doing so. She just misses her grandma…
Most of her team were caught on these holidays — Pepper, Okra, Lettuce and Beets are all from Hoenn, while Taro and Radish were found in Unova.
Day job is selling handmade custom plant pots. This gives her the money to get by and also work on more ambitious sculpting projects in her free time.
Side hobby is raising plants — virtually every room in her home is filled with greenery and flowers. Smells very fresh.
Competent at pokemon battles, attempted the Unovan League as a teenager and managed to get halfway through the E4, but no matter which order she tried them in she couldn’t get past the third fight. Decided to cut her losses and went home to focus on her art instead.
Still battles for fun, but not competitively. Tried the Battle Subway a few times but grew frustrated as she’s never been able to face either Ingo or Emmet on her own.
Aster used to live with her for around a year. At first they didn’t get along too well, and had a not-so-friendly rivalry. Aster would beat Romy every time, and try to offer some constructive criticism which Romy would initially reject out of stubbornness. After trying a suggested strategy out and it working, however, Romy decided to start listening and they gradually began hanging out and got to know each other better. When Aster decided she needed an actual place to stay in rather than going between camping and pokemon centre hopping like before, Romy offered a room.
Zero interest in romantic relationships, but likes sex. Is always upfront about this with people she gets into bed with, as she has no interest in leading people on.
While she enjoys an ongoing arrangement more than one off hookups, she tends to dump people pretty quickly either because she gets bored of them, or they didn’t listen when she said she doesn’t want romance and they try to make things romantic anyway. These tend to be pretty harsh, Romy’s the sort of girl to break things off over text then block all points of contact before the other party has a chance to respond.
Much more loyal towards her friends than people she lets into her bed (sometimes there is an overlap — those individuals do not get the previously mentioned treatment)
Very flippant in her interactions, does not hesitate to casually insult someone if they get on her nerves for any reason. Generally comes across as a bit cold and aloof to people she doesn’t know/care for.
Her flirting tactics are, by extension, pretty low key. Much like a venus flytrap, she’ll wait for someone to approach her first before proceeding to make use of subtle hints via body language, tone of voice, etc. Sometimes she’ll approach first, but usually doesn’t feel the need to. First encounters are intentially shallow, she’ll let you learn more about her when she deems you worth keeping around.
