If you don't mind me asking but when did you first get into re:zero

yeah i dont mind at all :o ig yallre gonna hear my full origin story now haah. its my—my… ok id say tragic backstory but i dont think this is really that tragic LMAO. my humorous backstory? silly backstory?

anyway i got into rezero in summer of 2020!! this was months before s2 started airing and by around this time there was just s1, s1 directors cut may or may not have been out?? i forgor :<, but then s2’s first teaser came out right about now.

it was quarantine…. i was bored one day and wanted smth new to watch… and by then id only really briefly seen rezero—like you know that s1 promo poster with subaru standing there while surrounded by some of the main girls in s1 (beatrice felt emilia rem ram)?? yeah id seen that. in the back of my mind i kinda assumed the show was just another one of those abt a dude surrounded by his harem of girls or smth?? :< but then i learned the Real Premise is the time travel. via death!!!! and ive always loveddd angst and whump so i was like “NO FUCKING WAY I HIT THE JACKPOT” and eagerly looked into rezero some more to see if it was worth watching. and then i saw all the shit reviews on rz that never seemed to agree on if it was good or not…… and then gigguk’s video…… and then i saw mother’s basement on youtube make a defense of rezero s1 and i was like!!! ok fuck it im watching this show. i want the angst i want the complex time travel shit. i think id spoiled myself on a couple of subarus deaths by this point trying to decide if i should commit to rezero and then i started binge watching s1!! esp when i was like ok this is a good time to get into it s2 was announced right??

anyway i got hooked on rezero fr 👍👍 the first s1 emisuba lap pillow had me quaking in my boots ;-;;; and i was already invested from ep1 bc i liked the characters a lot already!!! i am simply BUILT DIFFERENT i loved subaru from day one!!! by the royal selection episodes ofc i was dying of secondhand embarrassment but tbh i grew even more invested in rezero after that!! i was and still am super impressed that the narrative had the balls to have subaru fuck up sooo so so bad there. like seeing that emisuba argument and the julisuba duel for the first time was crazyyy. the conflict was really good and the latter s1 development…. woagh.

and then you know i finish s1 and i immediately get to researching how to read, i read arc 4’s wn and bawl my eyes out from the sheer amount of rollercoaster both the emotions and Long Ass Novel gave me (yes i was bawling my eyes out at parent and child) (yes i was bawling my eyes out at choose me) (yes i was bawling my eyes out for all the suffering loops) (yes i was bawling) (i have no clue how i read all those pages fr like that arc is massive), i speedrun arc 5, i accidentally spoil certain bits for myself (arc 6 stuff), i read most of arc 6 in spurts, tune in every week for s2 (and bawled my eyes out seeing the s2 part 1 op for the first time) etc etc!! one thing lead to another and now i am here…….. three yrs in this fandom… nearly (?) a yr being active on rezero tumblr… HAH

also i made a reddit account back inn…. 2020 or 2021 bc i wanted to be a tinyyy bit active in rezero reddit (this was half a mistake btw. i think i have more balls of steel now but my younger self was sooooo naive. shaking them by the shoulders. this is an anime fandom!!!!!! and this is reddit!!! whatre u expecting???? i am less shy now on the internet thats for sure!!). anyway im still a tiny bit active on rz reddit now after not touching it for like a year. now i use my reddit account for spreading otto propaganda and slander /lh …../hj

but anyway ive never been active in fandoms until rezero and thats bc id usually lurk and a lot of my past hyperfixation medias were :< big fandoms :<<< but then. ok im a fanfic enjoyer and i didnt write much fanfic or publish fic at all before this fandom but then in 2020 after watching s1 i checked rezero’s ao3 page and *sniffles* *sobs* thERE WAS ONLY LIKE 2 PAGES ON THERE MAN….. A WHOLE DESERT…. yes and then one thing lead to another and now there is more fic and also ig id be considered an english fic writer elder maybe…… i started posting in like fall/winter 2020? and maaaan im one of the only ppl from that era whos still posting i think!!! ive seen the entire english fanfic scene pop up!! ive participated in a bunch of community events… sooo wild to think about. i feel old guys!!!

but now i have gotten more and more active in the rz fandom yes :3 its been fun!! rezero is very important media to me and ive met lots of cool people in my time here :) when october 2024 rolls around itll be s3 time (AAAAA HYPE HYPE HYPE) and like four yrs of me being in this fandom?? its wild but my lifes genuinely changed a lot bc of me getting into rezero!! met lots of cool people… made pals… gotten my writing and art out there and improved on it via. large amounts of rezero fanart HAH.. became more unhinged.. etc etc :D even got to meet one of my buddies i met via rezero irl 👍👍 more irl crossover events will happen i swear.

also gigguk in my eyes redeemed himself for his old rezero skit vid by making a glowing review for rezero s2 with his pals. i can forgive him i suppose :<<<

in conclusion: idk if i count as a fandom elder but i sure have a lot of my own fandom lore pfft :<<<

ok so i have never written anything here but the sweet home netflix adaptation left me w sm pent up anger i need to rant

i was actually pretty excited abt it bc it seemed promising and on the first ep i was so happy to see the characters again obv had some complaints abt jisu’s hair but i thought i was to make her look modern?? even though her original hairstyle is still popular and it had a meAning but n e ways also abt the lil kids names:// mr ahn not being a baldy jsjskskd but minor stuff the bastard easter egg was nice tho

idk a lot abt cgi but i liked it and getting more into the plot or aspects from the webtoon they literally got rid of maria from the sky like wtf i was like ok maybe it was hard to make a chibi look like jisu irl bUT AT LEAST TRY A CHARACTER OMG AND WITH THAT they got rid of how hyun and hyuk met online and just their entire friendship/dynamic, aLSO lets talk abt mr wook pyeon THEY DID HIM SO DIRTY OMG he was like a father to those kids he cared for them and protected them maybe not from the very start but he developed and netflix just took that and threw it out the window jfc.

At first i excused the fact that they skipped how the figured out the burning monsters and earphones thingy bc only ten eps and all that bUT THEY ADDED SUCH UNNECESSARY STUFF LIKE AN ENTIRE CHARACTER AND HER ARC i mean like no hate to yikyung but they didnt make her likeable??? and then the entire trip experience adventure that was getting dusik to the first floor was also skipped like wtf???? and jisu even had a surgery when she didn’t even trip in the webtoon and performed by hyuk nonetheless like my boi is smart but yea.

now more things netflix deleted, i think the way would have scored more points in my agenda if they had given hyun is original bastard tracksuit 😭😭😭😭 aLSO WTF WITH THE ENTIRE TIME SEQUENCE OF EVENTS??? i dont remember the word for it srry) like jayhyun didnt make like past 70 eps and he wasnt even around when they tried to go out also ithey didnt put the two crazy girls the one scared of everything but got developement and the crazy one w glasses that in the series got replaced for a quiet girl that dies kinda unnecessarily also w that when they tried to go out mr ahn didnt die this time and died in a super boring way not heroic saving hyun and with that they ruined how the gangsters join and their past with wook.

Crooked Kingdom Review 🕰️

Holy shit.

Book: Crooked Kingdom (Book 2 of the Six of Crows Duology)

Author: Leigh Bardugo

The Plot

This book took me a bit longer to finish because I wanted to absorb as much of the plot as possible because of how much action there was. Every chapter had something going wrong (cough cough part 4) which made it impossible to put the book down. Some parts literally had my heart racing.

There were a lot of interesting moments and I would hardly say they were predictable. At some parts of the book I literally had to just...sit there and just think about how incredible the twists were. I never expected anything to happen, and the way things played out in the end were mind-blowing. I loved the way the plot expanded and it was very satisfying when the book ended.

The Characters

"Where do you think the money went?" he repeated.

"Guns?" asked Jesper

"Ships?" queried Inej.

"Bombs?" suggested Wylan.

"Political bribes?" offered Nina. They all looked at Matthias. "This is where you tell us how awful we are," she whispered.

I fell in love with every single character and watching them grow made me so happy. I think personally I loved Kaz Brekker the most in this book because you really got to see how his trauma left him scarred, as well as how skillful he really is when it came to the missions. The smallest details of Kaz's character just built him into such an awesome character. His backstory expanded, explaining so many things that I didn't even think I needed to know until I read them. Plus the fact that he basically wrote the book. Leigh made up the idea for the plot and Kaz said "I'll take it from here".

"I don't hold a grudge. I cradle it. I coddle it. I feed it fine cuts of meat and send it to the best schools. I nurture my grudges, Rollins"

And that was what destroyed you in the end: the longing for something you could never have.

Inej stole my heart again and again and for what. She really is such a well-built character with amazing determination. The beginning literally had me shaking (It was also the part of the book that had my heart-racing) because I really felt for Inej. Leigh also wrote Inej's kidnapped chapters perfectly, it felt so real. Her showdown with White Blade was so beautifully written and honestly Dunyasha was such a cool character I almost wish she was developed into something more rather than killed.

Anyway, Inej holds a place in my heart and it was refreshing to have such an in depth character, from her history at the Menagerie, to her references of her culture (which were so beautiful). It really made her stand out from the rest of the crew and she was just an incredible character.

"That was how you survived when you weren't chosen, when there was no royal blood in your veins. When the world owed you nothing, you demanded something of it anyway."

"The Suli believe that when we do wrong, we give life to our shadows. Every sin makes the shadow stronger, until eventually the shadow is stronger than you."

Her heart was a river that carried her to the sea.

Jesper was the character I resonated the most with. His backstory was so interesting and structured, but simple. I did enjoy the appearance of his father because it added an element of Jesper's character we didn't see much of before. We got to learn his backstory and learn about his relationship with his father. His unhealthy habits was also something I resonated with so it comforted me to be able to understand this character and connect with him. Also, I love the fact that his ADHD was given more attention to show how and why he dealt with situations the way he did. Also, when he bent the direction of the bullet at the last part...chills. He's my ultimate comfort character and I loved getting to know him.

Guilt and love and resentment were all tangled up inside him, and every time he tried to unravel the knot in his gut, it just got worse.

There's a wound in you, and the tables, the dice, the cards--they feel like medicine. They soothe you, put you right for a time. But they're poison, Jesper. Every time you play, you take another sip.

Nina was definitely one of my favorite characters to see grow. The creativity that was put into her powers was amazing and she was just such a badass. She could literally raise fuckers from the DEAD????? That shit made me lose my mind like how powerful can she GET. She was definitely an awesome character and I really wished we got some more on her powers and her story after they got their money.

She was the Queen of Mourning, and in its depths, she would never drown.

Wylan...sweet Wylan. I love him so much it hurts. He was such an entertaining character and his courage was awesome, he really stood out from the rest of the characters because of how different he was from all of them. He also admired all of the crows and was treated like a little brother by all of them which was so cute. The character development went from "Why am I here?" to "How can I help?" and I loved seeing him become a part of the crows. Also in that last scene where he's just leaning against the wall, beat the fuck up, was so good SAINTS.

Wylan summoned every bit of bravado he'd learned from Nina, the will he'd learned from Matthias, the focus he'd studied in Kaz the courage he'd learned from Inej, and the wild, reckless hope, he'd learned from Jesper, the belief that no matter the odds, somehow they would win.

But they were his first friends, his only friends, and Wylan knew that even if he’d had his pick of a thousand companions, these would have been the people he chose.

Matthias back with his long ass chapters (until chapter 40 LOL) (i'm so sorry that was outta pocket). Anyway, I still had meh feelings for him but I loved him and Nina's relationship. Yes, I shed a few tears when he died that shit hurt come on now. I did like to see his protective side and him overcoming his fears and past beliefs. The character development in him was immaculate.

He was on the ice once more, and somewhere he could hear the wolves howling. But this time, he knew they were welcoming him home.

The Ships

Kanej: cries. literally in tears. bawling my eyes out. throughout the entire book. THEY HELD HANDSSSSSS, HE OPENED UP TO HERRRRR, THE SHIPPPP AND THE PARENTSSSSSSSS AHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY HEARTTTTTT

I would come for you. And if I couldn't walk, I'd crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we'd fight our way out together--knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that's what we do. We never stop fighting.

Wesper: adorable adorable adorable. my favorite gay mfs in the world. Jesper is such a fucking flirt though he had ME blushing. Also when Jesper kissed Kuwei HAHAHA WHATTT, the way Kuwei was like 😏 had me gone. Anyway, the chemistry between these two was something else (so much better than in the first book) and the ending with them was wholesome I'm so happy they got the happy ending.

Wylan shrugged. “Maybe. Not all poisons have an antidote.” Jesper snorted. “That’s why we call him Wylan Van Sunshine.”

This was the kiss he’d been waiting for. It was a gunshot. It was prairie fire. It was the spin of Makker’s Wheel. Jesper felt the pounding of his heart—or was it Wylan’s?—like a stampede in his chest, and the only thought in his head was a happy, startled, Oh. (<3)

Helnik: cries. again. sobs. This one hurt me so bad, I literally was just sitting in my bed staring at the wall, book in hand, crying. They had such a beautiful relationship and they grew so much together it HURT. The way Matthias was so protective of Nina and was always worrying about her. They planned their future together in their heads all the time. They were SO HAPPY WHY COULDN"T THEY JUST BE HAPPY.

They deserved the world.

I will always protect you, even in death, I will find a way.

You aren't a flower, you're every blossom in the wood blooming at once. You are a tidal wave. You are a stampede. You are overwhelming.

Final Thoughts:

My final thoughts are scattered throughout the review, but overall this book took everything from Six of Crows and made it better. It broke me, made me laugh, had me angry as fuck, but it also left me feeling like I knew these characters and they knew me. It really was so much better than the first book in so many different levels and I will never get over this book. Truly better than waffles.

Hey, I keep forgetting to ask you (Disney princess that you are :-)... Do you like any of the live-action remakes of the animated films that have been coming out. I thought B&tB was pretty good but the others I haven't bothered with since the trailers haven't really grabbed me. But we just saw the trailer for Mulan and that looks AMAZING (besides being one of my all time favorite Disney animations). Just wondering what you think?

Well hello hello hello, it must have been over a year and a half since I last answered an ask, so THANK YOU for this opportunity 😊

Also, I’ll have you know that I squealed at the Disney princess part. How original of me.

On to the question. I have absolutely loved a lot of the live-action movies that Disney has made -The Pirates of The Carribean, The Parent Trap, The Princess Diaries, Ice Princess, Bridge to Terabithia and The odd Life of Timothy Green to name a few. But not the remakes. NOt. thE. rEMAkES.

Mostly is the philosophy behind them that bugs me than the execution. If I want to feel nostalgic about my childhood, I will watch the original, not the freaking remake with the stupid CGI effects. Yes there were some things added to some of the movies that made them a bit intriguing to watch, but those were not worth paying a ticket, not worth watching more than once, and not worth sacrificing the company’s time and money that it could have used to make new movies, animated or live-action, I dont forking care. New. I don’t believe Disney has run out of ideas, it has so many wonderful minds working for it - and Frozen II certainly proves so (you’re not the only one nudging. Heheheh). But the more remakes are made, the more it shows that they DONT want to use those wonderful minds, they just want something ready, which had succeeded in the past, and because the original makes people nostalgic they will come watch this one to try to get a taste of the magic of their childhood back. Well, guess what. The magic is sucked out of these movies. At least when I think about them, all that comes to mind is money money money. Ready food for Disney.

Let me talk a little bit about the ones I have watched separately.

Maleficent was the first one I watched. And the only exception to the rule. Because lets not kid ourselves, it had nothing to do with the original but the costumes, it was a completely different movie with an incredible plot twist, Angelina kicked ass, and it was just beautiful. I loved it.

Cinderella was the second one. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either. Personally, I didn’t really like the fairy godmother at all, and I hated the CGI mice, JUST GET REAL ONES, they weren’t talking anyway... But the movie, in general, was different enough to thrill me, and offer me something new. We knew what happens in the story of course, but the development of the prince and ella’s relationship was nicely portrayed, the villain actually felt like a hurt and relatable human, and the characters actually had.. you know, a character. Also, I liked the backstories with their parents. But it was a movie I wouldn’t watch again, to be honest, and that says a lot for someone that has seen every disney movie over a hundred times. No, I am not exaggerating.

The Jungle book was borning. Seriously I almost fell asleep watching it. Cool kid, cool effects, but gosh that was such an indifferent movie.

I loved the beauty and the beast when I first watched it, now I loathe it. I get why you like it. Emma and Dan kicked ass, they were both amazing. And the effects were cool, and the music was the same, and everything was the same, and everything was... the same... They didn’t even try, just added a couple of songs and the tiniest gay reference to get the lgbtq+ community on board, and those are enough reasons to remake a movie. You must see it because of them, it will change your life. Just... why? But I have to admit Emma was a good reason to watch. She was the cutest. And that line at the end “How would you feel about growing a bierd”, YES. THATS THE CONTENT I CRAVE. You know, if you’re gonna make live-action remakes for us that were kids when we watched the originals, GREAT, grow your movies along with your audience (like frozen II did. *Wink* *wink*). Give me Belle being a beast in bed. Give me Aladdin showing Jasmine a “whole new world”. Give me R-rated movies, Disney! Oh you won’t do that cause you’re a kid-friendly company? THEN STICK TO FORKING ANIMATION. For the love of-

I didn’t even bother with Dumbo. That creature gave me nightmares from just the poster.

And now we’ve come to the King.... of BULLSHIT. (Truli is aggressive today, yikes. Me mad). It was basically a movie about showing off Beyonce's talent by random songs of her screaming SPIRIT over and over. I mean she killed it, of course she did, but that’s beyond the point. Do I start with the fact that this wasn’t even live-action, it was an animation remake of an animation but like 1000% worse and 1000% mechanical and emotionless. Seriously the models didn’t have facial expressions, the little actor that played simba (THE TALENT!!!!!) was bawling his eyes out and the cub on screen was flat faced. Look, with animals you either go for realism or you go for a cartoonish look that has emotion. They sucked at whatever they did there. Here is an amazing video that voices exactly what I found wrong. Jesus, this is one of my best friend’s absolute favorite movie, he is a literal Simba (dad died when young, horrible and abusive uncle, I guess I'm the silly, hakuna-matata friend in this jungle of our lives) and he FORBID ME of ever mentioning this monstrosity of a movie ever again. THEY RUINED OUR LION KING. WHY???

Now Mulan... I have to admit it looks good. Like, really forking original and accurate and adult and maybe R-rated, good. But I did make a commitment after the bullshit king to never watch a live-action remake again, so I don't know if I’ll see it, in the theaters at least. I know that it doesn’t make a difference, but I’m out. From now on I’m only supporting animation, or original live-action movies. Just ORIGINAL. Not stolen work that leaves all these talented animators and brilliant brains out of business. Also, did I mention I saw frozen II five times in the theater. Cause I did.

Yeah, so overall, I just think it’s sad, you know. Just look at how the remakes outnumber the originals, and most animated aren’t even Disney, they’re Pixar.

I want my Disney back.

So my friend asked me to make a top 5 saddest death at one of my fandom.

So here we are ... Also spoiler alert if you haven't watched them.

Hunger Games:

5. Mags Flanaga

- We knew she would die eventually yet we still believed in her. That is until the fog started to appear. And her sacrifice made me cry, thanks to the accompanionment of Finnick shouting "Mags!" Desperately while Katniss tried to snap him out of it.

4. Cinna

- An unexpected death tbh. He's the last person that Katniss saw and talked to before the 74th and 75th hunger games and he was the one Katniss trusted the most out of Effie and Haymitch from the start. Which made his death more unbearable to Katniss as she helplessly watch him die. And that hit me hard

3. Primrose Everdeen

- Hold up just number three? Well you probably know who already takes up the number two and one spot. But let's talk about Prim here.

She was the Sole reason Katniss go caught with everything that happened to her in the whole book and movies. To make sure that Prim was safe. And her death was such a shocker not only because she died, but how she died. It was so sudden. And the way Katniss was devastated not only because she just saw two people who have gotten close to her (Finnick and Boggs) die her sister, the girl who is giver her the strength to fight on just dies right in front of her.

2. Rue

- I was like crying for a solid thirty minutes after she died. Like Marvel I hate youuuu. Other than Peeta Rue was the only person Katniss trusted, she even treated her like how she treated Prim. In a way in my perspective that Rue would be how Primrose would be if she got voted, without the amazing tree climbing skills though. So it was like a sibling instinct on her to take care of her. Which mde her death a lot more devastating, seeing her shocked face after seeing the spear on her chest, and how she wanted Katniss to sing her a song while looking at the tree's was amazingly made to make you bawl your eyes off. Then the part where Katniss burried her on flowers was so emotional. We knew she would die eventually since only one soul survive but like with Mags we wanted her to survive.

1. Finnick Odair

And now we talk about the death nobody expected. Like I would rant for hours just for this death alone. Finnick was my Favorite character in the whole series, since even if he wasn't one of the main cast (to my surprise) he is one of the characters who got fleshed put backstory and character development, he even got married to the woman of her dreams.

AND THEN THE MUTANT MUTTS HAPPENED. At the start it seemed like he will survive since he got there first. But when he threw his trident to save Katniss from the mutts, you know I was already praying for him to survive. And then he started to climb the ladder and I was happy but then A mutt grabed him and brought him back down, and I was already bawling. Him shouting Katniss Name out of desperation and Katniss looking devastated seeing the person who she knew the one who related to her the most gets killed. And lo and behold a whole day of a mess of my crying whenever I see a fish or sugar.

It was so unexpected, and thats why it became number one. Now if you ask me, I wonder why neither Gale nor Katniss shot the mutt what pounced on Finnick as he climbed the Stairs but maybe that was my salt.

the first character i ever fell in love with:Cristina, she’s my home girl, her sass and dry humour made me love her so much!!  her and mer’s friendship in what made me want to watch the show in the first place, BFF goals. 

a character that i used to love/like, but now do not:this makes me sad because i wrote her for years, but Callie, by the end of season twelve i was so happy to see her go after Shonda annihilated her character completely, i didn’t even recognise her by the time she left for new york. 

a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not:crowen  - they were my END GAME ship, but the writers tainted them so badly that i just ended up hating them by the end of season ten. 

my ultimate favorite character™:Mark Sloan, c’mon it had to be, didn’t it? i mean i was Mark Sloan™ back in the day so LMFAO, but seriously, i miss him so much. his character development came so far in the short-ish time ( relatively to the span on the show now ) and he is the most fun to write !! 

prettiest character:Jo Wilson && Stephanie Edwards are both fucking stunning ladies ( aka Camilla Luddington & Jerrika Hinton )

my most hated character:uh – Erica Hanh  ew. i hate her. she just fucking left my callie ( when i still loved her ) what a cow. 

my OTP:JOLEX JOLEX JOOOOOOLEX !! and MADDISON  !!  Also Mer & tequila, Mark  & not being dead, obvs. 

my NOTP:In canon  i  could NEVER get behind Merlex, mostly bc i knew shonda would ruin it, and thus ruin their friendship too. 

favorite episode:Season five, Dream a Little Dream of Me  part 1 & 2. because HELLO MAJOR HUNT !! 

saddest death:Mark, its been six (6) years and i STILL cannot watch it without bawling my eyes out.

favorite season:season five, & season 8 up until migration. because that’s where the show ended FITE ME.

least favorite season:anything past season 8 tbh. I hated season 12 though. it was terrible, and lacked consistency, and ruined my favourite character. 

character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate:Derek, I’m not here for that saviour complex. Ladies can save themselves thanks. 

my ‘you’re piece of trash, but you’re still a fave’ fave:Alex, my favourite smart mouth little shit head. But i will not have a bad word said about him, and i rage quit at episode 9 of season 13 because i thought he was going to go to jail and haven’t went back since. 

my ‘beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this’ fave:Jo, idk what’s going on in the show anymore bc i don’t watch, but like, they shit all over her consistently for years, and only bothered with her when she was being used as a plot device to Alex, which sucks, because she is SUCH an interesting character, and if you ever want her real backstory come at me because mine ( written before the show bothered to give her one ) is fucking better. 

my ‘this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but i still love it’ ship:uh — idk?? no one really. I’m pretty canon ship wise on grey’s tbh. 

my ‘they’re kind of cute, and i lowkey ship them, but i’m not too invested’ ship: i wish Stephanie and Jackson had been more of a thing, i think they were a better fit, tbh. UNPOPULAR opinion, but sue me. but i was never super invested, because they only used Steph as a plot device to get Japril back together~

(I mean, I think that was kind of… the point??) But like. I was a big fan of him before the prequels came out and the prequels aren’t going to take that away from me. And I always like big lightsabers duels so idc what you say about the lightsaber duel between him and Sidious I fucking loved it so. Whatever. OH and another thing. Like yes, the big point in the OT is that like Luke DOESN’T listen to Yoda’s ultimate lesson of “don’t go save your friends it’s a trap” but like don’t fucking tell me that Luke didn’t benefit at all from Yoda’s lessons. Is Yoda a good teacher? No. But did he have information that Luke benefited from learning? Yes.

Rose and Finn’s scenes were pretty damn good. Not sure how I feel about her kissing him and him not kissing back. The main reason I’m not fan of this is because it creates a Love Triangle and Love Triangles are the dumbest fucking plot I ever don’t want to read.

Every badass thing Luke does. Um like that pole swinging thing. And just. Luke ness. When he’s not moping and when he was actually joking around. like. Mark Hamill did an amazing job. An amazing job. They gave him shit for Luke’s story but Mark did all that he could with it and I love him.

Um is it weird that i fucking thought Luke was hot when he showed up on the salt planet???? gooooddd i fucking love luke skywalker he is the best

I really hated the opening shot. Like I don’t remember what it even was, but I remember really hating it.

Look, this the problem with movies. This is why I just don’t like movies as a medium anymore: they overcomplicate them. They cram too much fucking shit into it. Look. A short story = a movie. A long book/series = a tv series. You can do ensemble casts but like it’s really hard to pull off. Love Actually does it well. In general I think action movies do it horribly – and it’s because they have so much other things they need to pull off as well. Love Actually is a bunch of short stories vaguely connected and cut/interspersed with one another. But blockbuster action movies have to juggle all these characters, interconnect them, create plot, build worlds, and have action sequences and it’s just a lot to juggle. I can’t think of a movie that does this well. I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this. Probably I just don’t like the genre. I mean I generally do hate action scenes. But lightsaber duels are awesome and Poe kicking as in his X-Wing are awesome, so I’ll make an exception for those.
