I think what's rustling my jimmies is that like, there was a couple of WC fans being mildly dismissive of Alex in that note minefield, after dozens of comments of "fuck you how could you let the fridge woman lose" and "Bumble didn't deserve to win ANY rounds" and "how could A CAT experience misogyny." But then WE get blamed for the toxicity because THEY were butthurt that the Funny Cat People have the 'audacity' to win something they feel entitled to.

Like, we've gotta be endlessly charitable as we get openly insulted because they're upset about Alex losing, a very well-known and culturally relevant character with a legacy so massive we have a whole term named after her. But condemnations of "She's just a cat, letting WC into this poll was a mistake, Bumble can't even be a victim of misogyny" only started coming around once I started talking about it.

And I think that DOES make her deserve the win here! Alex is a MARTYR. Everyone with a brain agrees what happens to her is bad. It happened in her canon because it was bad. We talk about her and keep her memory alive. Bumble gets dismissed entirely out of hand because she's "just a cat in a kid's book" as if that doesn't make it worse, and as if the kid's book didn't treat a domestic abuse survivor like a moron for even asking for help.

Anyway, just to reiterate, I love DC fans. It's not all of you guys. Alex was done dirty and deserves justice-- and it's even kind of a shame that all she became is "The Fridge Woman." another Nimona But Make It SPOP, this time I just wanted to make Ballister a catboy

Tumblr’s read more system on mobile seems to be broken, so I’ll try not to ramble to much. This is basically a Catra and Adora Swap AU — Ambrosius is our “Ra” here. He and Bal were raised in the Horde and he was the golden child, while Ballister was the angsty catboy that tried harder than anyone but was still scapegoated to hell and back. Ambrosius is destined to be “Ra” and finds the sword. Nimona, the same species as Double Trouble, would be more of a cross between Bow and Glimmer and stumbles across Ballister, drilling into him that the Horde is evil.

Bal defects to the rebellion and tries to stop a Horde invasion on a village. Ambrosius tries to stop Bal and Nimona’s evacuation efforts/counter attack and, not used to having a magic sword and magic powers, Things Go Wrong 🗡💪

Nimona’s backstory is still largely untold, but I like the idea of her being reluctant royalty from a kingdom that was destroyed a long, long time ago, with no explanation as to why she’s still alive hundreds of years later. Gloreth is obviously the previous “Ra.” Blitzmeyer is Entrapta, a queen here, and helps Bal with his arm. The Director has to be Shadow Weaver. I’m torn on the Queen — parallel wise she should be Hordak, but her whole thing is breaking away from tradition instead of perpetuating meaningless worship of a long gone individual in a way that denies opportunities to the underserved and curates bigotry. That’s very different from Hordak’s continuing an abusive system before fighting to break away yourself storyline (plus she’s actually royalty, so maybe she’d fit as Angella). (On the other hand, Blitzmeyer/The Queen). IDK or maybe she can be Madam Razz or Lighthope

currently obsessed with the view our current harbingers have of the Tsaritsa. both childe and arlecchino greatly respect her even if arlecchino is dubiously loyal to the Tsaritsa at best. they both talk about her as a figure who is gentle and compassionate, completely at odds with both the organization she allows to commit horrible acts (dottore. its a lot of dottore. he canonically took children from the hoth under the old knave if they were no longer considered "useful" and used as test subjects). shes described as someone with no love left for her people yet the harbingers we've heard talk about her never seem to describe her in such a manner. of course, childe mentions she had to harden herself to complete her goal, but he still notes that shes too gentle. the more we learn about her the more i want to meet her purely because she is contradictions all the way down and its great!!! taking whatever scraps i can get and its perfectly in line with my characterization too so i stay winning

Cass and Damian and Steph had hard lives and shitty criminal parents so they chose to be heros.

Babs saw her fathers work and decided to be a superhero so she could help in a different way.

Jason was plucked off the street and given a home, food, and a fun hobby. that killed him but not the point.

Dick was deadass planning on murdering somebody before he was given the cape.

but Tim?

Tim felt like he had to.

He felt obligated to help because he saw that nobody else was, and he didn't want his hero to get lost in his grief.

But if he didn't? If the adults surrounding Bruce actually did something instead of letting a child shoulder the burden of fixing his mental health?

He would've had a good life. He would've been safe. He would've been warm in the dormroom of his boarding school with his friends instead of risking his life every night.
