Nearly 75% of the world’s crops producing fruits and seeds for human use depend, at least in part, on pollinators.

Gulhayo Khaydarova, from Durmon, Uzbekistan, has been in beekeeping for 14 years, and the honey her bees produce, is famous throughout the village. She said the traditions and secrets of beekeeping are passed down from generation to generation.

But, last winter’s plummeting temperatures killed off most of her bees. Even the most experienced beekeepers can suffer this loss. To compensate for her losses, the United Nations food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) provided her family with modern beekeeping equipment and 20 new hives.

Today, she has increased honey production, providing a more sustainable livelihood for her household.

You remember the day you first saw him, the sky was bright and blue the air was crisp the humidity was low and perfect for you to finally wear that silk press you’d been fiercely protecting. Taking the little red basket and roaming the isles, your fingertips taking the tubes of paint in your hands looking carefully at the colors, call it obsessive but you had curated the perfect hex codes for the exact colors you’d dreamed up to bring it to life. Everything was perfect and you had unknowingly entranced a certain big blonde lieutenant, who just couldn’t take his eyes off you, completely dazed until he was disrupted by your moving on and gathering in the next isle. Enamored he’d follow making sure to stay behind enough to see you not at all worried about you seeing him.

Floating through your sanctuary you collected everything reaching for your purse to grab your money. Error “I’m so sorry the system crashed so if you could give me a minute to log in on the other register.” The young man working who looked no older than eighteen said you could sense the nervous breakdown he was in the brink of thinking of the horrid day and people he had to deal with in retail. A quick nod “of course please take your time.” And he was off leaving you look around the register eyes landing on the little knickknacks few and far between the registers.

Only then do you take notice to the big man near you just now feeling the eyes singed into your hide looking over making eye contact with the surely intimidating man waving at him with a wide lipped smile, god how pretty you looked when you look up at him your pretty eyes trailing up his body to find his eyes, locking into them offering a smile. It’s not fair how the fantasies he’d have about taking his cock into your pretty mouth how teary your eyes would get wouldn’t be real.

The way your hips swayed as you walked your bouncy ass making sure each step looked like a little skip, the jeweled rings that adorned your fingers all a shiny gold the smooth glow of your skin. Glistening as you passed the big panel windows of the store, and your hair resting on the back of your shoulder layered against your face little hairs he’d kill anyone for touching. Was out shopping with mum and chanced upon the seasonal Honey Peach Ai-Yu Jelly Specials promotion for the month of March 2024 at Nine Fresh (九鲜). Decided on the spot to buy both the Honey Peach Ai-Yu A and B with added sweetened red beans (+S$0.70).

I know that mum wouldn’t like the chewy black pearls so I gave her the Honey Peach Ai-Yu A (草莓蒟蒻桃子爱玉). Hers came with the honey peach ai-yu, konjac jellies, strawberry pearl jellies and taro balls.

For my Honey Peach Ai-Yu B (珍珠椰果桃子爱玉), it has the same honey peach ai-yu jelly and taro balls but with nata de coco and black pearls. The sweet, pretty and ‘peach-ture’ perfect new seasonal desserts are such a thirst-quenching treat for our increasingly humid season.

Yesterday, I watched a comedy skit about this guy who is “totally not a cult leader” and all I could think about is Linda Monroe. Go girl. You scare me but I also felt so bad for you in Honey Queen
