house believing his happiness is a detriment to everyone around him makes me sick to my stomach. he literally can't even have an ounce of some type of joy bc something always goes wrong in his life and it could his patients it could be the people he won't admit he cares about and he'll take the blame on himself.... i've been thinking abt 3x02 cane and abel so often bc like how many times do people tell him he acts like god, that he has a god complex, that he can't play god and he told wilson "god doesn't limp." he's a genius but he doesn't have the ego to believe he's god, he's too self-aware of his flaws and he hyper-fixates on them as a harm to himself and it drives me NUTS bc in a fair world he maybe could've been happier longer than a few months but he never will!! bc he's fulfilling his own self-prophecy of making his life miserable!!! i'm chewing on him like a dog toy
