Impression - Will Graham Imagine [Hannibal]
Tumblr media
Title: Impression
Pairing: Will Graham X Reader
Word Count: 1,054 words
Warning(s): none
Summary: Will tries his hand at a "normal" date.
Author's Note: Sometimes we just need something cute and not deadly.
Also, I wrote this in the hopes of it being pre-show just so Hannibal wasn't an issue.
--------------------
Alana had seen Will stressed.
It may sound terrible, but she had grown somewhat used to seeing him that way. That's why she didn't think much of it when she walked into the lecture hall and found Will pacing in front of his desk.
"Hey," she said.
Will jumped a bit, not expecting to hear another voice in the room.
"Um, Jack asked for you," she explained, vaguely pointing behind her. "He's got a case that he wants your input on."
Will nodded, still clearly distracted.
Alana furrowed her eyebrows. "Are you okay?"
Will ran his hands over his face before responding. "Yeah, I'm fine."
Alana's expression told Will that she didn't believe him in the slightest.
"I... I have a date," he admitted reluctantly.
Her expression shifted into one of shock. That didn't bring any comfort to Will's nerves.
"With who," she asked.
"(Y/n)... (Y/l/n). They work in the lab."
Alana nodded.
She had met (Y/n) a handful of times. Usually in that very lecture hall. She had a sneaking suspicion that there was something more between Will and them but never felt like it was her place to talk about it.
Now, they had a date and all of Alana's suspicions were validated.
"Where are you guys going?" she couldn't help it. She was happy for Will. Of course, she wanted to know everything she could get.
"Drinks, apparently," Will said. "(Y/n) had a place in mind when they asked, so I just told them to send me the address."
"I didn't think you were one for bars."
"Well, that's because I'm not," he chuckled. "I much prefer enjoying my drinks in the comfort of my own home."
"Why didn't you tell (Y/n) that?"
He paused. "Because I don't want to risk messing this up. I... I like them."
"Aw, Will-"
"I shouldn't have told you about this."
"No, no, I'm sorry," Alana quickly apologized for her reaction to the confession as Will rounded his desk to grab his bag. "Listen. (Y/n) wouldn't ask you out if they didn't like you."
"I would hope not."
Will was trying to avoid this conversation. It was obvious.
"Will," Alana said. "I'm saying that you don't need to prove anything to them."
Will sighed and looked at Alana again. She grinned at him. He grabbed his bag and started making his way out of the room without another word.
"Can wait to hear about how it goes," Alana called after him, trying to not laugh at how clearly nervous the man was about his upcoming date.
Will tried to keep himself from thinking too much about his date before it happened. He knew very well that fixating on it was going to make him more nervous.
That night, he walked into a crowded bar. He tensed for a moment. It was loud and most of the people seemed to have no concept of personal space.
His eyes scanned the room until he spotted (Y/n) in a booth along the far wall.
Their eyes lifted from nervously twiddling their thumbs. They spotted Will immediately. A smile broke out on their face as they waved at him.
Will grinned back at them. Their smile seemed to bring him a bit of comfort.
(Y/n) stood up as he made it over to them. "Hey."
"Hi," he replied.
After a moment, (Y/n) stepped forward and hugged him. He let out a quiet sigh as he hugged them back.
The two of them sat back down after a little while.
The awkwardness seemed natural at first.
(Y/n) and Will had known each other for a while, but this was different. It was a new terrain for both of them. It wasn't talking about a case or about work. It was just... them. Existing.
(Y/n) told Will about their hobbies. Their education and their family. Their nerves presented as rambling. They felt silly for how much time they spent talking that night.
Will rambled far less than them. He talked about the dogs and how he ended up working the job he did. His references to his family were brief. (Y/n) could tell that it wasn't his favorite subject.
(Y/n) was hoping that the two of them would both grow to be more comfortable over time. However, Will still seemed so... uncomfortable.
There was a sense of guilt that the night carried.
They didn't work up the courage to ask about it until the pair were walking back to their cars.
"Did I do something wrong," they asked, stopping on the sidewalk next to the parking lot. Will stopped next to them.
"No," he answered simply.
(Y/n) turned to face him properly. "Are you sure? You just seemed uncomfortable while we were in there. I just... I want to make sure that I didn't upset you."
"It wasn't you," he reassured them.
"Then, what was it?"
"I... I guess things like this aren't usually my scene," he admitted. "I'm sorry-"
"That's not something to apologize for," (Y/n) cut him off, reaching out to touch his arm briefly. "I do wish you had told me before. I would've come up with something different. Made a better impression."
Will's eyebrows furrowed for a moment. "You didn't make a bad impression."
"I don't think making your date uncomfortable for your first time out together is a particularly good impression," they replied. "Maybe I could make it up to you on our second date?"
A grin slowly formed on Will's face.
"I'll even let you pick what we do," (Y/n) added with a nervous laugh. Will seemed to mimic the sound.
"I think I'd like that."
(Y/n) fought the urge to let out a sigh of relief. "Good. Um, I'll... wait for your call?"
"Okay," he nodded.
There was a pause between the pair of them.
(Y/n) took a deep breath before stepping closer to him. When Will didn't move back, (Y/n) leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to his lips. It took a moment for him to respond, but he soon smiled at them again.
"Goodnight, Will," they said.
"Goodnight," he replied.
(Y/n) waved awkwardly before walking to their car.
Will stood there for a moment before letting out a breath and going to walk away.
Both of them had this feeling in their gut that this was the start of something great.

okay but realistically speaking I am TERRIFIED of a season 4 because I am old and hopeless and I don't actually expect them to give us hannigram explicitly and I know it will be fatally disappointing.

His carefully crafted web.
Will Graham x Graham!reader x Hannibal Lecter
Summary: Hannibal wants both the Grahams to himself. He begins to spin his web of lies to get them crawling right to him.

........................................................
Jack Crawford led the Grahams to the crime scene, letting their eyes wander over the dead body in front of them.
Neither were easily mortified at vicious killings anymore.
After all, she was their head biologist, and Will was their reconstruction specialist.
But the dead body in front of them sent a small shiver down the woman's spine.
Will noticed and placed a gentle hand on her back. "You alright?"
She nods, "M'fine."
Jack nods at the two, "Do your thing, Will." And he walks out of the house, leaving the two Grahams alone.
Y/N bends down to the body, "This girl drowned on her own blood. That gives you something to go off of." She stands and gives her husband a sweet kiss on the cheek, "I'll be just outside."
He reaches out and grabs her hand, "Stay?"
Her eyebrows furrow, "I thought you do this best alone?"
"I do, but you help me think. Just… you being near helps me. It… brings me back to reality when I get too lost. Just promise me you'll stay?"
She was at a loss for words, "I… yes… of course."
He nods and closes his eyes, taking deep breaths.
"You said that to her?" Hannibal asks Will.
"Yeah, and I meant it too. I've been so worried about not coming out of the daze. She… she keeps me away from making my own design."
"And what happens when she can't help you anymore?"
Will sits up, "what do you mean?"
Hannibal blinks, "There may come a day that she can't help you anymore. What if you hurt her?"
Will loses color in his face, "No, I wouldn't do that."
The doctor shrugs, "How do you know?"
"I just won't." He looks up unsure, "Hannibal, that won't happen, right?"
Hannibal sighs, "I can't guarantee it, Will. You and I both know that."
Will sits back and runs a hand over his face. How could he be so stupid to not think about that? What if he wakes up from his daze to be covered in her blood?
He doesn't think he'd be able to live.
"Just promise me, Will. If something happens, anything, that you'll come to me. I can protect you. And her."
Will nods like it's obvious.
Hannibal had a plan in motion. He always does.
And he wanted the Grahams.
He knew that they were attached at the hip, practically an extension of the other. So in order to gain their trust, he'd have to break them apart.
But he knew he could always get them back together once they were his.
So, getting under Will's skin was the first step.
And it was too easy.
Hannibal was beginning to spin his little web.
Now, to get Will's wife.
"Y/N, may I speak with you?" Hannibal asked the biologist.
She looked up from her microscope in the lab, "Hannibal? You're the last person I expected to see. I'm pleased, don't get me wrong."
He smiled, "I understand. I'm just worried about you."
"Me?" She scoffs lightly, "Why are you worried for me?"
He steps up to her, letting his voice drop, "Has Will ever… laid his hands on you?"
She blinked, "What?"
"Has he hurt you?"
Y/N stepped away from his in suspicion. "No. Will would never. Why are you pointing fingers, Hannibal?"
Hannibal sighs as sets his blazer over a chair. "I'm worried that he's become unstable."
She nods, "He is but he's getting better. That doesn't put me at risk."
His eyebrow raised, "It doesn't?"
Suddenly, she wasn't so sure.
"No, it… Will… he… um… Hannibal, I don't understand."
He steps a bit closer now, their faces inches apart, "If he lays a hand on you, or hurts you in any way, I want to be the first to know. I would never let him touch you."
She tilts her head, "Hannib-"
"-No more. I need a promise, Y/N."
She shakes her head, "It won't happen."
He reaches forward and brushes hair behind her ear, "Your promise, Graham."
"I promise?"
He nods, "Good girl."
And with that, he grabs his jacket and leaves.
Now, the Grahams were avoiding each other.
Neither wanted to talk out their recent feelings with the psychiatrist.
And Hannibal could not be more pleased.
Both came practically crawling to him.
And he welcomed them with feigned surprise and open arms.
A few months and many manipulative talks later, he had them trained exactly how he wanted them.
Hannibal came home and set his bag down gently, "Y/N?" His voice rang out.
She floated down the stairs happily, "You're home early!"
He smiled and wrapped his arms around her waist, "I wanted to see you two as quickly as I could."
Will rounded the corner, "Oh. I didn't hear you come in, Hannibal."
Hannibal's smile only grew, "When you read, you're in another world, dear Will."
The two share a gently kiss.
Will pulls Y/N away from Hannibal's arms to wrap his own around the girl.
"I've been thinking," Hannibal says. He states it as if it's a new thought, and not one he had planned since the day he met the pair, "I feel a bit left out. You're both the Grahams."
Will places a kiss on the woman's neck and then looks up at Hannibal, "Oh, did you want to be a Graham, too, Hannibal? We can make that happen."
"No," Hannibal said with a smirk as he stared at the beautiful couple in front of him- the couple that lived in his home, ate his dinners he created, and slept beside him every night. The couple that belonged to him. "I believe the Lecters are more elegant. Don't you, darling?" He looks at Y/N.
Her lips pull into a line and she looks up at Will, "The Lecters? Will?"
Will was already beaming, "The Lecters. I've never been more sure of anything in my life, Hannibal."
Hannibal smiled.
He had spun his web slowly and meticulously, paying attention to every detail.
And the two little bugs known as the Grahams had landed right in it unknowingly.
After all, the spider was very charming.

The Dream - Will Graham Imagine [NBC's Hannibal]
Tumblr media
Title: The Dream
Pairing: Will Graham X Reader
Word Count: 1,251 words
Warning(s): brief mention of attack
Summary: [Season 1] Will's mind allows him to entertain a reality that he knows won't happen.
Author's Note: Is it wrong to say that this was inspired by a TikTok that I made? (oh, by the way, I have a Hannibal fan account on TikTok called a_fragile_little_teacup)
------------------------
Will's mind always gave him some difficulty when it came to discerning between reality and dreams.
That usually occurred when he had nightmares. He could almost understand it then. What's a worse way to torture someone than convince them that they're going mad?
But that night...
It was different.
His eyes opened to sunlight streaming through the window.
It took a few moments for his mind to come into focus, but even when it did, it didn't help much with his confusion. The other side of his bed was empty. He pushed himself up, leaning back on his hands. There weren't any dogs in the room.
That wasn't right.
Not usually, anyways.
He was typically up long before (Y/n) ever was. And the missing collection of dogs was just strange.
Just as the thought crossed his mind, (Y/n) walked in through the front door. They were quickly followed by a stampede of dogs.
"Morning," they said, laughing at the excited dogs jumping on the bed.
Will chuckled to himself, trying his best to pet the dogs that were wriggling all around. "Morning."
(Y/n) walked over, helping in Will's quest to reach every single dog on the bed. Will took a moment to just grin at them. He didn't want to say that this was all just luck, but he didn't have a better name for it.
He couldn't remember a day when the house had been this bright. No, that lonely house in Wolf Trap with no close neighbors always seemed to have a fog draped over it to block out the sun. Maybe it was a result of the weather. Maybe it was a result of the lonely man that lived there.
Maybe (Y/n) was the one to drag the sunlight back to the windows for Will's natural alarm clock.
"Sorry for letting you sleep in," (Y/n) muttered, leaning down to kiss his forehead. "You just looked so peaceful. I didn't want to wake you."
Will grinned a bit as they kissed him. "It's okay."
There was a creaking on the stairs.
It was quiet, but enough to catch Will's attention. He knew that there shouldn't have been anyone else there.
He reached for (Y/n)'s hand, ready to do something to get in front of them.
"Will, you alright," (Y/n) said, looking at how his hand grabbed at their wrist.
A light voice spoke up before he could explain himself, "Morning!"
The source of that light voice popped her head into the living room as she called out to them.
Abigail.
Will felt like he had been punched in the chest.
Not because it was bad to see her. It was just shocking. Confusing. She wasn't supposed to be here. She was meant to be in that hospital. She was in the midst of recovering.
"Morning," (Y/n) responded to her like it was the most normal thing in the world.
Will glanced at them before finally responding, "Morning."
Abigail walked into the kitchen.
(Y/n)'s eyes turned back to Will. "Are you alright? You look like you've seen a ghost."
Their hand touched the side of Will's face. Will blinked a few times before shaking his head. (Y/n) tilted their head forward, raising an eyebrow at him.
He reached up and touched their hand. "I'm okay."
(Y/n) leaned forward and kissed him gently.
They pulled away as they stood up, going to follow Abigail to the kitchen.
He could hear them talking to each other.
He could have sat there and questioned why this was happening.
Or he could accept that this was exactly what he wanted.
He had (Y/n), he had his dogs, he had Abigail. He could live in peace like this forever. All that he truly cared for under one roof.
It was everything that he thought he would never have.
Will let out a breath before pushing himself out of bed.
He walked into the kitchen. He paused for a moment.
(Y/n) and Abigail were in the midst of a conversation about one of Abigail's classes. He could vaguely hear some of the advice (Y/n) was offering about a project coming up. He was more focused on the pair smiling.
There weren't just here. They were happy here.
He didn't quite realize that they had stopped talking until Abigail stood up. She walked over and hugged (Y/n) quickly. She headed towards Will, kissing his cheek as she muttered about having to get to school.
"Bye! Love you!" she called over her shoulder.
"Have a good day," (Y/n) replied.
"Love you too," Will added.
There was a moment of silence between the door closing and (Y/n) speaking, "That girl is going to outsmart both of us."
Will looked back at (Y/n). "I'm pretty sure that she already has."
"You're probably right," (Y/n) chuckled.
They walked over and wrapped their arms around his neck. Will's hands found their place on (Y/n)'s sides.
They leaned forward and kissed him gently. It was almost intoxicating. Will leaned a little further forward, trying to push a little more intensity into the kiss. (Y/n) chuckled against his lips but obliged.
(Y/n)'s hands slid to cup the sides of his face.
As soon as their fingers brushed the skin, Will found himself shooting up in bed.
He looked around the house. It was still dark outside. He turned to the clock. It was barely past two in the morning. His eyes rested on the body lying next to him. (Y/n) was there. Curled into their pillow with one hand reaching out in the hopes of holding Will closer than he had already been.
The shifting must've shaken (Y/n) out of their sleepiness. Their eyes opened to find Will already staring at them. It almost looked like he was looking at them in disbelief.
"Are you okay," they asked, going to sit up. "Was it a nightmare?"
He didn't respond for a moment. (Y/n) turned their body to face him properly before they reached out and took his hand in theirs. Their free hand rested on the side of his face.
"Will," they said quietly. "Will?"
Will slowly shook his head. "N-No, no. It wasn't a nightmare."
"What was it then?" (Y/n)'s thumb ran over his knuckles.
He hesitated for a moment. "How do you feel about kids?"
The shocked laugh that escaped (Y/n) confused Will. "Sorry. Sorry. I... I'm not quite sure. I haven't thought a whole lot about it. I never knew that you did."
"I don't usually," he explained. "It's just..."
He trailed off. That allowed (Y/n) to jump to a conclusion, "It's Abigail, isn't it?"
A small grin formed on his face. "She's... She's going to need a place to stay after she recovers."
"You want her to stay with us?"
"I think it could be possible. There's a room upstairs. We have the money. I know that I'm springing a lot on you all at once, but these last few days, I haven't been able to shake it-"
"Will," (Y/n) was smiling at him. He didn't notice when that had formed. "I think it's a good idea."
"Really?"
"Yeah," they nodded. "We should probably sit down and discuss it in more detail when it is not 2 in the morning, but I think I'd like that."
Will let out a relieved sigh. He leaned over and pressed his lips to (Y/n)'s.
(Y/n) let out a shocked laugh before kissing him back.
For just a little while, Will allowed himself to imagine a reality where he got everything that he wanted.

Will shocking Hannibal by showing up at his office unannounced, covered in sweat, apologizing for the intrusion and telling Hannibal that he doesn’t know how he got there.
Hannibal doesn’t care, he thinks Will’s most beautiful when his emotions are raw. Grabs Will by the back of the neck as he watches him nod feverishly when Hannibal asks if it was: “a bad dream..?”.
Hannibal smiling as he rubs his hands down the sides of Will’s head and neck, whispering that he was okay and that he’s there. Feeling ELATED when Will leans his head onto his shoulder as he makes his way through another mild seizure.
Hannibal trying not to sound happy as he talks to Will knowing he will remember his voice and nothing else. Always happy to know a plan is working.
“I’m here. See? No one else. Just me and you.” Grabbing Will’s face in one hand and using the other to cup the back of his neck again and acting as if he’s never even thought of doing such a thing when Will gains consciousness an hour later.
“All better now?” His voice hazy as he watches from his chair as Will’s eyes scanter around the room before leaning forward and brushing his hand against his neck in the pretense of checking his fever.
“You had an episode. Nothing too bad but…nothing is going to hurt you.” He leaned back to rest comfortably in his chair and watched as Will fought to either give in or ignore his blatant manipulation. He knows Will would question why he heard him but doesn’t remember ever leaving his bed. Knows that Will is apprehensive of the situation because he was just feeding his dogs. Know that Will is breaking and needs a constant thing for balance.
“Not with me here…”
Hannibal’s willing to become that constant.
