Ok. I'm dying.
I'm reading the manga and I see this. (Maybe it was also in the anime but I don't remember that)
Hisoka is talking with Kurapika about the phantom troupe and he says: "It's not like we're getting married. Just some give and take"
For now I only know the story from the anime, but I know that in the manga there is a moment where Illumi repeats the same words when describing his relationship with Hisoka. (probably everyone here knows it)
Ok. So now how to connect those two scenes?
Of course I'm hyperfixating on this, when probably it doesn't have any meaning.
Anyway the first thought i had?
Hisoka: (says to Illumi, like to everyone else) It's not like we're getting married. Just some give and take
Illumi: Deal.
Illumi: Marriage it's fine too.
Haha, finishing with a funny thought :)
Do you have any teories? As always I'm super curious 😄

Small scenario 📝:
Young Hisoka performing magic in front of people in the streets.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Take a good look!"
Hearing this, an intrigued young Illumi stepped in making his way discretely, looking at the strange boy performing.
Hisoka teared his cards into small pieces, gathering them all in his palms, taking a breath and closing his eyes, concentrating on his magic.
Illumi made his way to the first row, completely taken by curiosity, surely this boy couldn't do real magic could he?
Suddenly the boy threw the pieces in the air, creating a wall in front of him but they were flower petals.
How? Illumi's mind echoed as his eyes widened, as the equally shocked crowd gasped in awe.
Hisoka small hand grabbed a falling petal, putting his hand in a fist.
As the flower petals all fell on to the floor, the boy quickly made eye contact with Illumi, sending a shiver of suprise into the younger boy who straightened his back, his face changing into an intimating look.
Instead of turning away -like most people did- Hisoka smiled.
He pressed his fist against his lips, opening it dramatically, showing flower; a flower made of cards.
The crowd awed once again, clapping and cheering as Hisoka bowed and smiled, thanking everyone.
As the crowd dissipated, he made his way to Illumi.
"Wait!" He yelled out at Illumi who was leaving, making him turn around to face him.
"Here!" He smiled and held the flower out towards him. "For you!"
Illumi scanned him up and down, hesitating. He reached out, taking the flower carefully not saying a word.
Hisoka chuckled, finding the small boy giving him the most threatening look with such round eyes adorable.
Illumi looked at the flower then turned his back towards the strange boy, leaving him behind.
"See you soon!" The cheerful voice cried out behind him.
[ ~17 years later. ]
Illumi layed down in his bed, looking over the glass with a rose made of cards on his night stand.
Taking his phone out, he made himself confortable.
"Goodnight Hisoka." He texted.
"Goodnight my dear, see you soon ♥️" He smiled at his phone before putting it down.

Killua and Gon mimic each other a lot.
On the start of the fourth phase of the hunter exam, while in the boat, they sit like this:
and by the end of their talk, Killua mimics Gon:
They half mimic each other in heaven's arena too, probably subconsciously (these two panels are on the same page)
They lay down in the same pose on the campfire chap, so i can't tell who mimicked who.
And killua has his usual 'cool kid' pose when he sits up. His default way to sit.
but he mimics Gon every time he changes poses.
this one is the funniest to me cause they sit so differently when they are a little away from each other/not paying much attention to each other
but when they are side by side, or right in front of each other BAM
And I am not sure is if this has any meaning, but I do find it interesting that when Gon is overwhelmed, frustrated, or defeated he usually sits with both knees up and his arms crossed.
But while waiting for Pitou to finish healing Komugi, he mimics Killua's mannerisms
Anyway, if you know more moments of them mimicking each other please share! It brings me life.

I watched Hunter x Hunter anime a while ago and now I'm slowly starting to read the manga. Most things are pretty similar, but it's fun to pick up the small differences!
Something that caught my attention was a small detail during the first interaction between Hisoka and Illumi after the hunter exam.
Hisoka is calling him friend, most probably to make fun of his hypocrisy. Did you noticed that too?
There is a lot to think about. Even if he is just teasing him the fact remains that he thinks they are friends in some way (even if Illumi may not think so)
And one thing I can say about Hisoka after re-entering the HxH world is that he is an excellent judge of character. That's why he is such a good strategist! He knows people and what are their goals/weaknesses/personality/temperament. He is using that to his advantage during fights or just to mess with people.
Anyway: if Hisoka at that moment was saying that they are friends, they most probably are! ( Even if he is a liar, the teasing wouldn't have sense if there weren't any truth to it)
Do you have any thoughts on the topic? If you want you can write to me, I'm super interested to read about your point of view!

Illumi getting random urges to hug or kiss Hisoka's cheek, he doesn't know why but he just does it.
He also secretly likes when Hisoka does it back even when it caught him off guard at first.
It always makes him feel good. ♥️

Stay here in the shade
In this world we made
Don't stray out from the canopy
Safe 'neath the Willow Tree
-Lyrics from Willow by The Arcadian Wild (pretty fitting, huh?)
Drawing Huntlow to cope with some stress, they just make me really happy <3
I've been thinking of opening commissions, so would anybody be interested in a piece like this? Sketchy lineart, basic background, fully colored and shaded! Let me know! :D

I wanna talk about Gon's "Im glad I met you" declaration, because it warms my heart.
Greed Island is the closest thing to a gift his dad has ever given Gon, a gift he had been excited to play but that no one cares about, killing each other for a reward, and destroying the game's original intent.
He feels like he is the only one properly playing Ging's game and respecting what his dad wanted when he created Greed Island.
But Killua reassures Gon that the game mechanics allow players to steal cards, so it's not a disrespect to Ging's game, just a different play style from Gon's.
This shows that killua cares about this 'world ging created' and how it works just as much as Gon, and that while some people are crossing the line with murders, others are still 'playing', which calms Gon down.
The most important part is how killua says "Let's enjoy the game by ourselves" with genuine excitement!
He effortlessly reminded Gon that this isn't just a 'challenge Ging left', it is also another of their fun adventures, and others don't matter because Killua will always follow him.
For as social as Gon is, this has always been a part of his life he didn't share much with his loved ones: Mito never liked his dad, Leorio and Kurapika always help when asked, but they have their own goals, and Gon would never drag them into something for himself, but Killua has always been by his side with a smile, from when Gon first listened to Ging's voice, to teaching Gon how Joy Stations works, all the way to entering the game, Killua makes this search for Ging fun, and Gon feels grateful for his presence.
He loves that his best friend is here, that he got to meet someone as smart and cool and amazing as Killua at all. So he tells him.
