"something floral": literature student blabbering about the usage of flower symbolism in "nevermore", how it ties to the theme of insanity and a little bit (a lot) about shakespeare.

from lenore's perspective, flowers are closely associated with isolation caused by her trauma and supposed "hysteria". floral pattern wallpaper accompanied her loneliness for days, months, even years. image of the flowers signaled that lenore's position would remain unchanged, that she was stuck, that she would continue to slowly loosing the clarity of her mind.

having torn the wallpaper off the walls, lenore believes that she will never see this image again, but flowers continue to accompanying her. lenore sees them again during her first meeting with annabel lee. and during the last one, too. she may have managed to get out of her lonely room, gain more strength in her legs, find a new friend, but lenore is still trapped. she's the daughter disowned by her parents, a stain on the family reputation that must be hidden forever. the image of flowers doesn't let her forget about it.

similar symbolism is also not alien to annabel lee. episode 66 is interesting in particular, because it directly quotes ophelia's monologue. I'm a big fan of shakespeare, it was he who instilled in me an interest in floral symbolism. a year ago, for a conference on foreign literature, I wrote an article about flower language of "hamlet". it's not available in english, but I'll list down some points that I considered relevant regarding "nevermore".

• rosemary can serve as a keepsake between lovers and also between the dead and the living. it could be seen at both weddings and funerals. in the old days it was also believed to be helpful in mental illnesses treatment.

• pansies, just like violets, symbolize innocence and devotion. ophelia doesn't consider the people around her worthy of violets, since she blames them for the death of her father.

• rue is a symbol of eternal suffering; grieving over her murdered father and the loss of her beloved hamlet, ophelia leaves some of the flowers for herself.

• the image of daisies has a close connection with the concepts of innocence, fidelity and eternal love. in shakespeare's tragedy, this symbol is overshadowed by the fact that in the world around ophelia there's no place for these beautiful things. for "nevermore" the symbol is also not so positive, since the readers are already familiar with daisies. they were on that wallpaper in lenore's room.

it's impossible not to note that annabel lee recites the monologue while in the bath, in the water. ophelia decides not to resist the river flow. her life turned into a tragedy: she was left without a father, her lover has seemingly lost his mind. her own sanity is also called into question. ophelia sings cryptic songs, goes into the field to weave a wreath, gives flowers to other characters. in the eyes of those around them, hamlet and ophelia seem crazy, while being the only sane and honest people among them. there's no place for tender, innocent ophelia in a cruel, deceitful world, so she drowns.

annabel lee also reflects on how both she and lenore are considered madwomen. her meeting with "leo" is accompanied by floral pattern on the annabel's dress. their madness is contextual, they both are perfectly sane, but don't fit into the system that could be leading to real madness with time. "all madwomen die twice. at least twice".

now about the arboretum. it obviously has a lot of flowers, but in my opinion this place is interesting in a different context. lenore and annabel visited the arboretum twice to discuss upcoming plans and such, and there are many parallels, both visual and narrative. not much time has passed since last time, but their situation has changed. they seem to look on their past selves from the upper level, having their conflict more acute now. I'll make a more detailed post about it later.

and now I'll just focus on how the characters in this arboretum full of roses behave as lost and confused as in the phobia-inducing flower labyrinth from earlier episodes. “the closer you get to beautiful flowers, the closer you get to their thorns,” says duke in episode 38. the flower imagery haunting the main characters doesn't let them forget that their sanity is always on a verge of slipping. and once a flower falls from its stem, it cannot be fixed.

Mikey lands on the roof and powers on his earpiece, whispering, "Mikey in position. Can you hear me, Base? Come in Base."

"Helloooo New York City," comes Leo's voice, loud and clear. "You're tuning into L.A.I.R 179.12, with your host, DJ Neon Leon! Bringing you the hottest rock from the other side of the millennia."

Mikey snickers, then tries to pull himself back together. "Leo, come on! I'm here."

"Who?"

He sighs, even though he isn't mad at all. "I'm here, DJ Neon Leon."

"Ohohoho, excellent." He hears the click of typing, and then Leo says, "Can you get me visuals, Shelldon?"

"Right away, Neon Leon," Shelldon's voice crackles through the comms. There's a moment of silence, and Mikey can just imagine Leo rolling his chair around his "command center."

(He and Donnie had spent ages building it to look like the bridge of the S.S. Starbolt, with added mobility access, of course. Leo loves it as much as Donnie loves his lab.)

"Got your visuals, dudes," says Shelldon. There's some more typing from Leo's end, then he says, "Alright, Miguel, you should see two guards coming around the building riiiiight... now!"

Sure enough, two guards in plainclothes circle either side of the old apartment building across the street. Mikey watches as the two of them meet in front of the entrance, exchange a few words, then turn and head back the way they came.

"Right on time, Leo."

"Perfect, we're synced." Some more typing, and then, "The rooftop will be clear - let me know when you're over there and I'll get you inside."

"Roger that," he says. "Mikey out." Then he clicks his earpiece to silenced.

A hop, skip, and a jump later he's on the opposite roof. There's a door here, and he edges toward it before contacting Leo again.

"I'm here!"

"Alright... Disabling alarms... now!" Mikey can just see how dramatically he must have pushed the button. "Check the door to see if it's locked."

Mikey reaches out and jiggles the handle, but it doesn't budge. "Locked."

"Alright, no problem - you got your lockpicks?"

"Yep!"

"Remember what I taught you?"

"Yeah, I got it."

"Alright. Make me proud, little bro."

Mikey grins, pulling his lockpicking kit out of his gear. It takes him a few minutes, because he's nowhere near as fast at this as Leo is, but he gets it done without needing to ask for help. The training Leo made him go through is still fresh in his mind.

"Alright, I'm in," he says as he slips through the door. He's in a deserted stairwell, but just to be safe he crouches down into the shadows near the wall.

"So far, so good. You need to go down two flights of stairs. No guards are coming around right now, but keep it quiet just in case."

"Don't worry, I'll be silent as a mouse!"

"Knowing Dad that's not giving me as much confidence as you think."

Mikey giggles, then sucks in a breath and gets his game face on. Right. Silent. Ninja skills GO.

He does manage to make it to the right floor without major incident. There's no one in the hall when he enters, looking at the rows of numbered doors. He doesn't know why this is where the artifact is being kept hidden, but it doesn't matter.

"According to our intel, you should be looking for door four-oh-nine," says Leo. "The floor's clear, so get goin'."

"Got it," whispers Mikey, then hurries along in a silent crouch to the door Leo specified. He stops when he gets there, hissing in disappointment.

"What's up?"

"There's some kind of keypad lock."

"No problem. Just hook Donnie's doohickey in there."

Donnie would definitely hate it if he heard them calling it a "doohickey," and that makes Mikey grin. He pulls it out of his gear (it looks like a USB stick, but slightly thinner) and slips it into the maintenance slot on the keypad.

"Alriiight, hacking in progress," says Leo. "Big solo mish is going pretty smoothly so far, huh?"

"Yep," says Mikey proudly. "Told you guys I got this."

"That you did. Oh, and... alakazam!"

There's a click as he says it, then the red light on the keypad turns green. Mikey grins and opens the door, slipping inside the dusty apartment.

"You're getting pretty good at that hacking thing."

"Uh, you know I don't actually hack anything, right bud? I just get Shelly here to do it for me, or shoot it off to Dee if it's too complex."

"Don't sell yourself so short, dude!" says Shelldon. "You're picking it up real quick!"

"Ugh, don't say that. It makes me sound like nerd."

Mikey laughs again, searching the apartment for... well, he's not sure exactly. But he's pretty sure he'll know it when he sees it.

"What's the Foot Clan want this thing for, anyway?" he asks.

"Ours is not to question why, Miguel. I'm leaving that question for Donnie to answer."

"Mm... guess so..." He's about to say something else, but then he feels... something. Like a pulse, getting stronger as he moves toward a closet.

"...I think... I can feel it."

"Feel it?"

"Yeah... it's like..." He frowns, moving forward. "Like it's calling to me."

He opens the closet to find a safe. It also has an electronic lock, so once again he inserts the doohickey. The safe door opens with a click, and he peers inside.

There's only one item: a glittering green stone, with markings he doesn't understand carved in its surface. The pulse is super strong now, waves of energy washing over Mikey. Whatever this thing is, it's definitely powerful.

"I found it!" he says to Leo, a little louder than he should. He reaches in and wraps his fingers around it.

"Great! Hold on, just let me see if-"

Before he finishes his sentence, Mikey pulls the stone out - and immediately a loud alarm starts blaring, making him jump.

"What the heck is that!?" he yelps, jumping to his feet. He hears Leo curse on the other end of the line.

"Pressure alarm. Get out of there!"

The windows are barred - it's why he didn't come in that way in the first place. Mikey has no choice but to go back the way he came, dashing into the hallway. He turns on his heel and is making for the stairwell when his earpiece crackles again.

"No good, they're coming up the stairs."

"Then where am I supposed to go!?" he asks, frantic. All the windows are barred in the hallway, too, so that's no good.

"Okay, okay, hold on... oh, I got it! Opposite direction, about five doors down. Laundry chute."

Mikey sprints. Just as he hears the door of the stairwell open, he's tipping into the chute, pulling his limbs into his shell.

Getting chased by guards? No fun. Sliding down a laundry chute? Very fun.

"Whoooohoohooo!" he cheers when he reaches the bottom, landing in a pile of old rags and t-shirts. "That was awesome!"

"I remember having a distinctly less fun time the last time I had to do that," says Leo. "Anyway, stay there. I'm going to set off the roof access alarms and lure the guards up top, then you go up the stairs and slip out the front. Got it?"

"Got it!"

Leo's plan goes perfectly, and within a few minutes he's back outside. One later and he's back on the rooftops, running to safety.

"Yessss!" he yells once he's finally far enough away, jumping in the air and pumping his fist. "Mission successful baby!"

"I knew you could do it, little bro!" cheers Leo, his voice full of pride, and it makes Mikey beam.

"Couldn't have done it without you, Leo," he says back, truthfully.

It takes Leo a second to answer, which puts the smallest damper on Mikey's enthusiasm, but finally he comes back with, "Sure thing. You know I'm always here to help."

It's not perfect. But it's getting better. Leo is getting better, every day.

Mikey's celebratory mood cannot be quashed. He whoops again, eliciting laughs from Leo's end.

"Alright, now get your butt home before Raph freaks out. He's walked past my door twelve times."

"Thirteen," Shelldon corrects.

"Thirteen!" Leo echoes.

"You got it! Mikey out!"

He clicks the earpiece to silent, then runs and jumps to the next roof with an extra spring in his step. His solo mission was a complete success!

Of course, no missions were truly solo anymore. Not with his faithful older brother ever in his ear.

18. you didn't think you'd make it this far, let alone celebrate it in the city of love. you didn't think you'd start living in paris either. your initial plan was to live with your parents and little rat brothers until the day dad sends you off to your forever man. although, knowing your father, you probably won't even need to think about that day happening anytime soon.

ciro runs to you, hugging your legs since that's how tall he is. "feliz cumple, vieja!" [happy birthday, old lady!]

"who are you calling vieja?" you play along. "gracias, pollito." [thanks, little chicken.]

"is he coming, linda?" antonela approaches you, picking ciro up and propping him on her hip. "don't want him bailing out on you on your special day."

"nothing to worry about, mamá," you reassure. "trust." antonela smiles at you, before hearing a ruckus happening twenty feet from where you, mom and ciro stood.

"that must be your papá and brother playing football again," antonela groans. "i told them not to play ball out in that field." you offer to take ciro with you as you let your mother yell at your father and mateo.

thiago walks into the ballroom, heading straight for you and ciro. "is hermano pablo coming?" thiago asks you quietly, acknowledging how the ballroom echoes even with the lowest of voices.

"he told me he will be." you answer. your doubtful voice had pushed ciro to drape his arms over your shoulders.

"it's okay if he doesn't, hermana. nosotros estamos aquí para ti." ciro smiles, knowing you as well as both your parents can't resist to stay mad after seeing that smile. [we're here for you.]

"te quiero mucho, mi pollito." you bump heads with ciro before realising the presence of two figures at the front doors of the hall. [i love you so much, my little chicken.]

"pablo!" it was him. and pedri. he asked you if he could bring a plus-one.

"but i am your plus-one." you had told him.

"yeah, but it's your party." gavi answered.

"wait, what?"

"i dunno. can i bring pedri or not?"

"esta bien, lo que sea." you gave up. [fine, whatever.]

"te dije que vendría." gavi smiles, wrapping his arms around you and ciro. [told you i was coming.]

you introduce ciro to pablo, your youngest brother only waving shyly at him, only having met him twice. thiago was quick to throw his arms around gavi's waist. "ah, on the dot." you say, noticing your parents and mateo walk into the hall, all nice and ready for the party.

"what do you mean?" pablo questions.

"mamá, papá, mateo, this is my boyfriend, pablo. and pedri." you introduce. your hand coils itself around gavi's bicep.

"ah, sí. pedri, como estas?" he and pedri shake hands, exchanging niceties before he moves on to pablo. "y este es pablo de barcelona?" lionel asks, his head tilted to his right. [ah, yes. pedri, how are you doing? and this is pablo from barcelona?]

"sí," you say, seeing your friends start gathering by the front door of the hall. you choose to take ciro with you to greet your friends, so you walk away from pablo. stopping next to your dad, you tell him, "se bueno, papi. he's just pablo, and you're... el mejor del mundo." [yes. be nice, daddy. he's just pablo, and you're... the best in the world.]

leo only shoos you off to greet your friends before taking a deep breath. "pablo." he calls for your boyfriend, whose eyes have drifted to you as he watched you walk away from him.

"yes, sir?" gavi stands straighter than usual.

"como te va en barcelona? ¿xavi te trata bien?" leo asks, making conversation with him as antonela, thiago and mateo lead pedri away to the buffet spread. [how are you doing at barcelona? xavi treating you well?]

"i'm getting better, mr. messi." gavi nods his head slightly, hands together in front of him. he's smiling his best smile. he really wants to impress your father.

"deja eso. llámame leo," he waves gavi off, a smile — slowly but surely — appearing on his face. gavi can only chuckle at the acknowledgment. "sentémonos, el espectáculo está a punto de comenzar." [quit that. call me leo. let's get seated, show's about to start.]

once everyone is seated, your uncle, antonela's brother, begins the ceremony. you sat in between leo and pablo. act one; first daddy-daughter dance. "¿pueden la princesa y papá dar un paso al frente para el primer baile?" [can the princess and dad please step forward for the first dance?]

leo presents you his hand, nodding towards the dance floor. "ready, mija?"

you nod your head, taking dad's hand before trailing behind him to the centre of the hall. you instinctively pan your eyes to pablo, who sat next to your mother. he looks at you with great admiration, before putting both his thumbs up and grinning.

the music begins to play and you lean against your father, coiling your arms around his waist. "gracias por todo, papá." [thanks for everything, dad.]

"no," leo shakes his head. "gracias por todo, hermosa. has cambiado mi vida para siempre el día que naciste. dios me ha dado la hija mas grande que podría tener." [no, thank you for everything, beautiful. you have changed my life forever the day you were born. god has given me the greatest daughter i could possibly have.]

you couldn't stop your eyes from filling up with tears as you listen to your father's intimate speech. "gracias por cuidar a tus hermanos como lo haces. eres más que una mujer. eres un monstruo. un monstruo en la cancha, un muñeca fuera." [thank you for taking care of your brothers the way you do. you're more than just a woman. you're a monster. a monster on the pitch, a doll off.]

"me acabas de llamar monstruo?" you scoff on leo's shoulder. [did you just call me a monster?]

"quise decir eso amablemente!" leo laughs. [i meant that nicely!]

you thank your dad, and you dance in silence. you were grateful to have leo in your life. he was your rock, and he always will be. when the music finally ends, you allow your cheek to tear away from leo's shoulder. leo smiles at you as your uncle speaks again.

"pablo? tu turno." your uncle nods at pablo, who gets on his feet immediately as leo turns to make eye contact with him. [pablo? your turn.]

you wait for pablo on the dance floor. you let your head hang low as you wait, because pablo could make you blush by just walking over to you. "estas lista, querida?" boom, you're blushing. [you ready, darling?]

you nod, giving him your right hand and placing your left on his shoulder. the music begins playing and you allow pablo to sway you gently and slowly left and right. "thanks for coming."

"cualquier cosa para ti, amor," gavi chuckles. "me di cuenta de que tu papá te dio un pequeño discurso cuando bailaban. creo que quiero decirte algo a ti también." [anything for you, love. i noticed your dad kinda gave you a little speech when you guys danced. i think i wanna say something to you too.]

"cosa segura." you answer. [sure thing.]

before gavi could speak, your uncle comes running towards the both of you. "¿tio? ¿todo bien?" [uncle? everything okay?]

"todo está bien, cariño. es solo que... tu amigo pedri de ahí de allá dijo que le pasaras el micrófono a pablo," your tio explains, looking at pablo now. "dijo que tienes algo que decir." [all is good, darling. it's just that... your friend pedri over there said to hand pablo the mic. he said you've got something to say.]

you grit your teeth in guilt, and as you look up at pablo, he was annoyingly mouthing something to pedri. "toma el micro, pablo, no hay tiempo para esto." you whisper-yell. [take the mic, pablo, there is no time for this.]

he rashly took the mic from your tío, clearing his throat before beginning his speech. "uh, hola. espero que todos ustedes estén pasando un buen rato. soy pablo, el novio de y/n," he introduces himself. "vine desde barcelona y estoy aquí para celebrar la vida de nuestra querida niña hoy. mi amor, eres un regalo para todos nosotros. no puedo hablar por tu familia, pero has cambiado mi vida de una manera que las palabras no pueden describir." [hi, hope all of you are having a good time. i'm pablo, y/n's boyfriend. i came all the way from barcelona and i am here to celebrate the life of our dear girl today. my love, you are a gift to all of us. i can't speak for your family, but you have changed my life in a way that words cannot describe.]

"gracias por todo lo que ha hecho por mí, y eso incluye su apoyo para mí y mi carrera, incluso aquí en parís. te lo prometo, siento tu presencia en barcelona cada vez que juego. espero que este año te traiga toda la alegría que te mereces. Te amo, y veo mi futuro contigo. feliz cumpleaños." pablo finishes his speech off with the biggest smile. [thank you for everything you have done for me, and that includes your support for me and my career even all the way here in paris. i promise you, i feel your presence in barcelona every time i play. i hope this year brings you all the joy you deserve. i love you, and i see my future with you. happy birthday.]

he comes in closer to give you a hug, and as he did, he whispers in your ear. "estoy orgulloso de ti, messi. solo... ven a visitar barcelona más a menudo, okay?" [i'm proud of you, messi. just... come visit barcelona more often, okay?]

"i'll try." you smile.

Literally don't know what I'm doing

‍♀️The 22° does represent a type of death (and y'all can cry about it). Death isn't always the leaving of the physical plane, it could be the active suppression of something that leaves one feeling not complete/whole.

🐍I have this degree on my Moon, and when I tell you people constantly try to make me suppress my emotions AND when I actively do so I don't feel as complete as when I'm being my normally expressive self. It feels like part of me is gone not that I'm physically gone.

‍♀️As someone with a Jupiter in my first house I have no idea where people got this happy go lucky idea from. I've been told countless times I'm more of a realist or even a pessimist at times. And no my Jupiter doesn't have a ton of negative aspects (there's more positive ones).

🐍I believe Jupiter First house is more of a sign of hyper awareness of self (hence the realism) not ignorance.

🐍I am very aware of my limits and literally will not push myself if I know something is pointless.

‍♀️ I've been stuck in a Saturn ruled year/pattern for the past two years and in two years I'll be starting my Saturn return. I no longer like the number two

‍♀️This applies to the doms/venuses of these modialites Cardinals attract people in the same age range. Fixed attract people older. Mutable attract younger.

‍♀️As a Venue square Ascedant I can tell you now, I love the way I look until someone says something negative then I'm mad the rest of the day. In vice versa if someone says something positive that makes my whole day.

‍♀️I've also notice I get a lot of stares outside (regardless of what I wear), yes my Venus is in the 10th house, that might play a larger role in why others perceptions of me impact me so much.

‍♀️Pluto makes people really blunt and forward with you.

‍♀️Just because one has fame degrees it doesn't mean you'll actually be famous. Depending on the signs/planets/houses it's found in

‍♀️Aqua first house traits: Being called "UniQUe", Major rbf, diamond shaped head (yes you got a big head), coming off different than others in the room (if everyone is bubbly, you mean;if everyone is mean, you bubbly), calling people out then being upset about getting attention

‍♀️Aquarius placements might like the whole "-core" idea a lot. I have no idea why (it's literally just regular traits and interests being turned into a personality but that's just me)

‍♀️Having all three modalities in your big three can show you have great intuition. However your mars sign impacts how much you use said intuition.

‍♀️Despite an empty 11th house I tend to care too much about friends. Then I realized I have a 7th house Mars and North Node, therefore relationships are the focal point of my life. So no the 11th house isn't about friendships completely it's about your broad socialization.

‍‍♀️Having a first and seventh house stellium make you an ambivert. You wanna be around others but on your own terms.

‍♀️7th house NN is completely about using relationships to shape yourself into your best version. It's about experiencing all the social parts of life and learning the lessons that come with it.

‍♀️I might be biased but I've never met a Taurus I (out right) hated. I vibe so well with them (unless they start acting goofy).

‍♀️Having Neptune and Venus heavily impact you can make you idealistic, fluid, and

‍♀️Saturn is the most ghetto planet. I have nothing else to say in this.

‍♀️Heavy Pluto influence makes one seek out others reactions. Not that they're insecure they just love attention (don't even lie about it).

‍♀️That also applies to Scorpios, they do shit just for a reaction. The only case it might be out of some form of insecurity is if paired with Aquarius or Leo.

‍♀️As Pluto transits Aquarius we might see more people diagnosed with nerve problems and long term illness.

‍♀️Another thing about Pluto in Aqua is the increase in cultish behavior/ organizations, terrorist attacks, and standoffish actions. Like I've seen people become real... racist, classist, sexist etc. Almost like all the behaviors we agreed were gross are now okay.

‍♀️North Node in Aries isn't helping with the lack of sociability. I wouldn't be surprised if people started being more individualistic to the point of isolation.

‍♀️Geminis got big ass ears (better to hear everyone's business with)

‍♀️Gemini kids may be vocal a lot sooner than their peers

🐍May also be more curious than other children

‍♀️Sag kids might really like fixed sign adults. Sag adults on the other hand...

‍♀️I mentioned a lot of Scorpios/Pluto doms may work well/with kids but I've noticed the sister sign Taurus might do just as well and work with kids too.

‍♀️Gemini adults are great with babies/toddlers, older kids not so much (because of similarities in disposition)

‍♀️I'm sorry but having a 5th house stellium is not an indicator of creativity. I've met and seen quite a few that couldn't draw a fucking line if you gave them an outline. They tend to be more gifted in whatever the sign is over their fifth house rather than "creativity" in general.

🐍My mom has a fifth house stellium but can't draw, color OR paint (despite taking plenty of art classes) to save her life. Yet she is an extremely good person with health based and routine problems (isn't a doctor but can easily tell you something a doctor would).

‍♀️The fifth house really can tell your preferences. I don't just mean "intellectual" or "sympathetic", it could also talk about the appearance and disposition of individuals as well.

🐍Gemini over the 5th can indicate the preference for androgynous (presentation, gender, energy) folks. That could be someone who dates gnc/non binary people more than cis or aligned trans folk. Or be with people who don't conform to gender roles (in a societal sense) by having equal masculine and feminine traits.

⋘ ᴛʀʏ ʟᴀᴛᴇʀ... ⋙

‍♀️I've been wondering when people were going to stop (over) hyping the K *insert literally anything* industry. And I realized it won't be until Neptune is out of Pisces. I made a post a hot minute ago about Korea being specifically the arts being linked to Neptune. And seeing that Neptune in Pisces high key started the globalization (the idea even) of many Korean based arts, it's not going to chill out until Neptune dances its way into Aries.

‍♀️Speaking of Neptune in Aries, we can expect a drastic change in media, the likes and overall expectations of the entertainment industry (that includes physical and digital artists as well). Since more "warish" "rough/hospitable" countries are ruled by Aries we could see the rise of heavy metal, folk (that includes heavy drumming not the more gentle one that's Cancer's domain), and loud, rough music.

🐍We would see a change from fantastical beauty being the standard to people who look like they've seen some shit. There would definitely be a decrease in cosmetic surgery HOWEVER it might also be an increase in steroid usage (everyone wants to look strong).

🐍We could also see more wars, aggression and overthrows during this time. The last time Neptune was in Aries was the mid 1800s. That was a time of government overthrowing, revolts around racial/ethnic inequality (Haitian Revolution, Civil War, Qing dynasty getting jumped, etc etc).

🐍We might actually see true differences made in the world due to this shift.

‍♀️I haven't really seen people talk about Uranus since last year so I just wanted to talk more about what this Taurus and future Gemini transit means.

🐍We have already seen banks and economies crashing. It's only been a few months of Uranus in Taurus and financial stability is looking like a whole joke. While this may not seem big to some or others may be looking forward to this, it's a very big cautionary sign. Since the world does rely on paper/coin currency having banks and whole economies flat line doesn't just mean we'll have some communist revolution, it means we'll have to quickly adapt to a skill base trade or watch the world go up in flames. We could see more wars, famines and disease due to this. I haven't seen anyone touch on the increasing tensions in the world due to the high inflation rates. Yes I mentioned more wars in the Neptune observation but with it corresponding with the current economic instability, yeah. We do have to learn trade/life skills because other things are becoming obsolete.

🐍Another Uranus in Taurus observation is the increased use in technology. You might be confused why this is being mentioned with Uranus and not Pluto, but I'll explain. Taurus is linked to stability and comfort (very similar to the 2nd house), and due to the ease technology gives many folks, it's not surprising we see more and more being used. This leans more into Uranus in Gemini, but AI technology will (for better or worse) become integrated into everyday life. That means communication will change drastically because teachers most likely won't be mostly humans but AI and robotic. Many languages might end up fully dying out by the time Gemini Uranus comes around because no one will be writing and verbalizing them anymore. In the near future I can already tell people will get more lazy in certain aspects leading to a decline in creativity and diversity. Because why should I have to think harder and be uncomfortable when there are things available to do that for me. We could see the rise of more mega cities (think Tokyo) due to human population clustering in certain areas and leaving others. Honestly the thing I can see happening and kinda fear is lack in biodiversity leading to us just cloning to make up for life lost.

‍♀️I said in a previous observation that Aquarius is linked to Nuerodivergence and now I figured out how. It relates more to the "physically visible" ones. I'm taking Tourettes, Epilepsy and Alzheimer's.

Leo is both insanely fascinated over your hair-

But also, very very terrified at first.

Remember when Leo wore that blond wig that ended up being completely and utterly evil??

Leo has flashbacks of this when he first sees you using your hair to grab a mug off the counter that was just out of hands reach.

May or may not have screamed.

"S/o, I don't mean to freak you out but- YOUR HAIR IS CURSED!"

"What- wait no it's just-"

"Don't worry- I got this!" he says, as he whips out his sword

Cue panicked screaming from everyone in the room as Leo attempts to 'save' you

He really thought you were in danger okay-

After managing to convince Leo to not chop off your hair,

You have to explain to him that your hair isn't actually cursed by some weird dude looking to steal stuff

"I was born like this, I can just make my hair move and stuff."

Cue Leo's suspicious squinting.

He does believe you! He just cant help peaking around corners detective style to spy on your hair at first.

Once he gets use to it tho, he's got to admit, having hair you can use to grab things jussst barely out of reach is amazing!

His jaw drops when he realizes you can fight using your hair too-

Your hair wraps around a rather slippery warthog mutant and launches him several feet away

Leo is staring in shock and possible fear

They'd been trying to get a hold on that mutant for ages, and you just managed to grab him no problem???

And launch him like a soft ball???????

Mad respect

Enchanted/cursed hair or not, Leo's just glad it's not using you for evil!

Plus, you seem to be having fun, so he's cool with it now.

Donnie's insanely curious about your hair

Absolutely runs some tests and experiments (with your permission ofc)

It's similar to using his spider arms, but 10x better since it's his s/o helping him.

Your hair also inspires him to make a different version of his spider arm battle shell-

This one using a more fluid movement to match your hair!

Villains do their best to avoid you both

Having one person who can grab and yeet them away was bad enough-

But now there's two??????

They are sprinting as fast as they can

Not fast enough though!

You're able to use your hair to grab and swing from walls, catching up to villains with ease

Donnie's impressed, you didn't even need a tracking device!

You two also found out another trick you could do,

You're able to use your hair as a extra set of arms- so you both came to a realization

You could use your hair to hold more controllers.

You two need an extra player???

Bam, you're holding two more controllers

Donnie cackles manically every time you two score extra points using this method

The guys entered the living room one day and saw it absolutely covered in buckets of paint

You are now banned from holding stain causing items in the common areas and Donnie's lab.

When you two go fight together

Mikey quickly learns that you can use your hair to help climb and scale buildings

Which leads to you crawling upside down on a ceiling at full speed, with Mikey floating beside you, at enemies

There are high pitched shrieks whenever you join the battle

You may or may not be a local cryptid now.

"S/O, they're calling you a spider mutant!"

Like Leo,

Raph also thinks your hair is alive

Though, he's more concerned than fearful

If your hair is alive, then should he ask it if he can pat your head??

You reassure him that your hair is not alive or sentient

He's still wary about it though

Definitely gives it suspicious looks when you're not looking just to test it

When you catch onto this though, you start moving your hair 'without your knowledge' just to play around

Raph shrieks

"I KNEW IT!!!"

You'll have to explain that you were just pranking him lmao

He does realize that your hair isn't alive eventually though.

Is genuinely impressed by what your hair can do

Especially when he realizes you can lift heavier objects too

If you're able to lift him with your hair, he'll scream

Definitely has a fanboy moment

"WHAT!? How is it so strong?!?"

Even if you can't lift him with your hair,

He's still impressed!

Throughout the day, you'll use your hair to grab things that are out of reach and hand it to him

Usually it's subconscious,

Like when he just barely got into a comfy spot after a long patrol and realizes his phone is just out of reach

You grab it and hand it to him offhandedly

Or when he's sleeping and the blanket slips off, you'll reach around to pull it back up and make sure he's covered

He appreciates these little gestures so much

Absolutely warms his heart and makes him a little misty eyed.

During battle,

He sees you literally form a fist shape with your hair and deck a rather aggressive yokai right in the face,

Sending them flying down the street

Raph will stop and stare in awe

"Woah!! S/O that's amazing!"

He's so proud of you

Then he realizes the hidden city police are making their way towards the two of you

Cue both of you hauling it towards the nearest portal

"GO GO GO!"

"I CAN'T GO BACK TO JAIL!"

He loves the way his tail and ears respond involuntarily when he tells you about his plans, like he tells you how to hack stores all over the world for the best purple jacket and your tails are wagging excitedly.

Someone help, there is a melting turtle.

He will be startled when your tail is rubbed against him. At first, he'll avoid your touch, he didn't expect it.

But after some time he will gradually get used to it. (But still, you can notice he is jumping a little. When you tease him about it, he'll say you made it up and quickly move on to a different topic)

He likes to run his hands behind your ears

When he wakes up, he will hug you from behind and lay his head on your ears.

"D, your head is heavy-"

"Eh, it comes with being the brain of the family"

RAPH

Big puppy + Kitsune = the Perfect couple

Well, you know Big Mama's hotel is pretty big so it is so easy to lose your way

And he is kinda nervous to ask someone, everyone looks so busy

When he gets on the elevator, he is alone with a stranger kitsune

You don't look busy to him so he asks where is Big Mama's room

But even though you told him how to go a few times, he can't remember

So you lead the way to him

You two chit chat about hotel and at the end of the corridor he accidentally took your number

Once he accidentally stepped on one of your tails and apologized for a whole week

"It's 60th time already Raph, it is not hurting anymore."

He and his dad went to the Hidden City so they could spend more time together

But things didn't go as planned and messed up again.

So they started arguing in front of their kid.

They didn't even realize Mikey left.

While the orange turtle watching his own reflection in the decorative pool, he didn't notice the yokai who approached him.

You came to make a wish and throw your money in the fake pool and luckily you have had an extra coin for the sad turtle.

You two wished and threw coins into the pool

Well, he looks better now, what did he wish for

"I can't say or it will not come truuee"

These coins opened a door of friendship

You were so fun to talk, he will invite you on more dates

He'll ask if it bothers you hugging your tails, if you let him he will gonna rub his face in your tails

You can hear his giggles, just awwwwww-

When you wrap your tail around him even if you do accidentally he will understand want attention and will give you what you want (hugging time)

He always wanted to dye his hair so he bought a hair dye but there is one problem, he doesn't have any hair.

So if you let him he can dye your tails, don't worry it is a temporary paint

-But if anyone were to even lay a finger on you, he goes full defensive mode

-God forbid anyone insult you

Donnie:

-As someone who also has autism, he understands your needs

-But he still gets a little frustrated sometimes

-He wants to love you, but you make it a little hard sometimes

-His unexpected hugs from behind often make you jump, which he doesn’t like

-Your need to be alone more often than usual makes him mad

-Whenever you’re stressed or anxious, he tries to calm you down with hugs and kisses, which only makes it worse

-He has fidget toys on hand for you, because he knows those will always calm you down

-He gets mad whenever he has to use them, though

-He doesn’t like that something else has your attention more

-He also doesn’t understand why his love won't calm you down

-Your love and affection will calm him down, so why doesn’t it work the other way around?

-And sure, you may have autism, but so does he

-So why can he be the only “normal” one in the relationship?

🔭🪐Astro Observations🪐🔭

P.S. these notes are based on personal observations and experiences and yours may be similar or drastically different💜💗

Cancer mars tends to experience extremes in emotion. When they're happy, it's just as contagious as when they're mad. They tend to frustrate easily and are passive aggressive. When confronted about their behaviour, they aren't willing to hear it and would rather indadvertedly hint that they're mad at you. They take confrontation as disrespect and are defensive. I feel like you have to feel them out and walk on eggshells to see how they're feeling. On a brighter note, when they love you, you'll always know. They are the type to always go out and get your favourite foods or instinctively buy that shirt you've always wanted. They're very loving and kind yet particular and precise.

Leo suns, ily. You love with every fiber of your being and your affection does not go unnoticed. You guys also don't play around when someone you love gets hurt. On so many occasions, I can remember you guys dropping whatever you're doing and ready to stand up for me and for that, I'm forever grateful🥺

Side note though, when you're mad don't forget to say I love you or something bc you guys get scaryyyyy (I be forgetting you get so mad BECAUSE you love me but geez go easy on my cancerian self) And I noticed that they love to toy around with warm-coloured highlights in their hair (namely reds and blondes)

Virgo placements, namely sun, are not the "neat freaks" everyone makes them out to be and by no means am I saying that they're not. Rather than having a spotless environment, virgoans have a special means of product placement that suits their needs and no one else is supposed to understand it. Me for example, as a virgo rising I can say that my room is a complete mess for those who don't understand the way my mind works. However, if you were to ask me where a particular item is stored, I could find it almost immediately. "Methodical mess" is the name of the game.

Secondly, I notice that virgos, regardless of the person they're interacting with (in-person), tend to almost "size up" the other person they're speaking with, gradually warming up and interacting once they've taken note of the individual regardless of how long they've been known.

As a virgo rising, I can openly admit that I have a rbf problem, sadly. My whole life I've been asked if I'm ok all the while my rbf is a sign that I'm focused and alert, actively scanning my surroundings. I promise I'll converse if initiated😔 also, the whole thing about this placement appearing younger is so true in my case. People always assume I'm at least 2-3 years younger

Libra suns, as a libra moon, you guys just get me. Whenever I speak with you, I feel like I don't even have to finish my sentences, you know how I feel. You guys are down to earth and understand my absolute need to play devil's advocate when it comes to pretty much any decision I have to make in my life. What I will say in contrast though is that you guys know what you're doing when you try to guilt trip me. It hurts me when you guys play the victim, genuinely like can we just talk all level-headed and calmly?

Aries suns give off child-like energy in the best way possible. When hanging out with them, you'll always find yourself somewhere you never thought you'd be. As fun as it can be, they are also very stubborn with seemingly all the wrong things like I wouldn't suggest a heavy coat if it weren't -20°C outside???

6H Uranus is prone to have a routine that is perceived as unusual/unconventional to others. People may outwardly express their confusion and try to make them conform to their method (i.e sporadic cleaning over the course of a couple days).

Taurus suns and honestly earth suns altogether are such a vibe. You guys are almost down for whatever, especially taking a liking to anything outdoors. I love walking around and chatting about life with you guys.

Cancer suns I feel can be a hit or miss. I find that the majority of those I've met, tend to exhibit introverted traits whether they are or not. They're very timid individuals that is until they're not and they're great friends to just walk in silence with. As for those who never did "warm up", they seem very sweet but it just ends up as me feeling like I'm talking too much and just going quiet abruptly 🧍🏽‍♀️

2H moon 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾 shopping spree to release stress, sadness

Scorpio suns are such sweethearts, so kind and so giving. You guys are the type of friends who will patiently listen as you pour your heart out to them. So patient and gentle

Water sun, air moon can be a dangerous combo. The native is sensitive and harbours many emotions though the air moon prevents them from truly being able to feel them out. This makes them more inclined to have a breakdown which, from others perspectives may appear random. Try journalling or even video diaries to candidly speak about your emotions (at least that's what helps me cope since I struggle so deeply with speaking).

Could you please write a short something or other how since Jason was raised in the military since he was a toddler (love him so much) if you yell ‘ATTENTION’ really loud his brain kinda makes him do the salute thing, like a reflex action. Which Piper and Leo use to wake him up. He’s fell of the top bunk a lot of times.

I usually don't take requests but this is fun, so I'll make an exception.

Jason's glares were something the whole Leigion were afraid of. Everyone had been to the Wolf House but no one could do the Wolf stare as terrifying as him.

Unfortunately for Jason, falling off the top bunk and laying on the ground in a heap, really ruined the effect.

As did his hand still being up mid salute.

Infact it made Leo grin wider and hold a hand out to him. "I hate you" grumbles Jason, putting his arm down and using the other to take his hand and stand up.

"Sorry Jase, but it's the most effective alarm clock for you." Says Leo. Jason knows he's not sorry at all but simply yawns. And rests his head head on Leo's shoulder.

He's too tired for this.

Leo chuckles, ruffling his hair and Jason sighs happily. "I'm still mad at you." He grumbles but they both know he's not.

Jason had been startled the first time Leo and Piper has yelled "Attention" to wake him up. He'd been on edge the whole morning and they'd apologised.

It was actually Jason who gave them permission to use it when he was asleep.

While he was an earlier riser, he was also a deep sleeper and the Leigion had drilled it into his head as a wake up call.

He just asked that his friends didn't say it any other time. It might be funny to see him salute on reflex, but it made Jason uncomfortable.

It showed how different he was, how much he'd gone through and lost. It was a power Leo and Piper did not abuse, even if they teased him for it.

"I know, would coffee help?" As if on cue. Piper walked in a cup of coffee and snorted when Jason made sleepy grabby hands for it.

They'd learned rather quickly Jason was not a morning person. The fact he was even speaking before having coffee was a miracle.

"Thanks Pipes" Says Jason, still somehow attached to Leo as he drank it. At Piper's pointed look he slurped it, not loudly but they were getting there.

She and Leo were determined to let Jason be a kid, and obnoxiously slurping coffee was a must.

"Wa-hey what about me?" Asks Leo, pouting. Piper laughs "he likes me more, I got the coffee." They both bickered good naturedly while Jason drank his coffee and started to wake up.

"I love you both, now shssss" He says "and thank you Leo" he adds making him grin.

This morning wasn't so bad after all.

I keep seeing the argument that Percy is plot armored and that other big three kids should be as powerful as him or more in the case of Thalia and Jason. I don't think that the inherent nature of their personalities is really taken into account.

The first argument is that Zeus is the king of Gods so his children should obviously be more powerful. This is a misunderstanding, Gods only ever transfer basic abilities to their children. Everything else that comes after is all a credit to the children themselves. (For e.g, how only Leo is able to summon fire even though there are many children of Hepheastus or how only Meg shows stronger, more deadly abilities of Demeter's domain.)

Percy's basic ability to control over water or earth comes from Poseidon but it's Percy's mindset, upbringing and motivations enhance and expand his abilities to the next level.

1)Thalia: She probably has more potential but is held back by her fear of heights and is therefore unable to exercise wind control. Her lightning control is way better and stronger but it's limited by her spite for Zeus or her overall fear of what ambition might do to her.(Titan's Curse subtly alludes to this)

2)Jason shows more inclination towards wind control more so than lightning perhaps because it's comes to him gar easier than lightning which requires rawness more so than discipline. His greatest downfall is his commitment to rules and his stern belief in doing things in a set way.

Jason is a lot of things, but he isn't very creative, nor is he a good out of the box thinker, so he just sticks to the rudimentary abilities he has and doesn't even think to explore Another good reason is that since Roman counteroarts of Gods are so disciplined, they do not indulge in the true raw nature of their power, and hence, Roman demigods are technically weaker in terms of raw power. (LOOK at the life expectancy of Greek demigods and how strongly they attract monsters).

He just doesn't have the touch of madness that sparks power in the big three children of Greek counterparts.

Jason is also not the type to damn the world for people he loves while we know the Jackson Family preaches the "do anything and everything under the sun to protect the ones we love. "

But mostly all of them, Thalia or Jason, believe there's a limit to what they can do or can be done and controlled while Percy has no sense of such predetermined boundaries. He is an open-minded and extremely adaptable fighter. He believes anything and everything could be used against his opponents, and hence, his fighting style is also better and far more unpredictable than usual. Percy also doesn't believe he is all that powerful, so he thinks there's always more to channel.

[It also helps that Poseidon favors Percy to the moon and back while Jupiter just gave Jason as a guilty gift to Juno.]

3)Now Nico has a good chance of being way more powerful than Thalia and Jason and isn't also very held back by moral concerns. His problem is that his powers are much too vast for him to control, and they always get the better of him. Raising the dead? Traveling through Shadows? Hands down Hades has the most op abilities to give. But this fact aside Nico also lacks the enhanced physical strength and the necessary experience to use his powers.

Last but not the least Percy is the most connected to his father's domain. He has sat on his father's throne, he has been in his father's secondary seat of power, Atlantis.

So overall, Percy is and will be the strongest demigod for a long, long time.

People Are Strange (ROTTMNT VAMPIRE AU)

OMG, IM GONNA THROW UP SO MICH INFO ON YOU GUYS IM SO SORRY BUT VAMPIRES ARE ON THE BRAIN AND THEY MAKE ME DO THINGS

A TAD bit inspired off of Lost Boys, so it's got that 80s cliche/grunge to it - also @m0nster-fluffer TOTALLY didn't encourage or inspire me to finally write all this stuff out... Totally not 👀

This is inspired by a Roleplay idea I came up with... But was never able to act out so I'm glad I was able to write some if the stuff down!

BASICALLY... It's just like the brothers and MAYBE April (but I think she'll just be a normal human they let tag along, and maybe she does some of their... Hunting for them) are vampires, usually come out late at parties or do their own thing, riding around on motorcycles, being nuisance to many, and threats to others.

I feel if it were a scenario, it'd probably go one (or your whole group, depends on if you want your character to already know the guys or not) of the Roleplayers moves into this small secluded town where all this happens, and somehow gets wrapped up in meeting the four weirdos + April, and then starts discovering the creepy and spooky blah blah ect.

The Hamato Brothers are something no one wants to be around with, cause eventually, you go missing. You get lost. Never to be found, it's kind of difficult when their very... Persuasive.

Basic twist/plot for this whole thing: Everyone in this town but you know the guys are vampires. You and your family have no clue until you find out why the people of this town don't want you to leave, try to keep you trapped in this so called, happy, campy, little peace of heaven off somewhere deep in the woods. You're new meat- new faces. New prey.

The guys had started getting more relentless and more brash toward the townsfolk until you showed up... They can't just give you up that easy.

(And my rant about what I think the guys would be like HEE)

Raphael Raph is one of the more docile of his brothers, he isn't as peer pressuring or over energetic as his other three, usually he's like that big brother 'come on, leave em alone' energy if he can see someone getting stressed over his brothers trying to get them to jump like- twenty feet from the beach pillars. But, as much as he seems like a chill dude, his vampirism is... Different. When he's mad, he isn't afraid to let you know. He can get aggressive and almost animalistic, a LOT of 'accidents' involving people can be from Raphs... Temper-tantrums.

Any vampire powers? Yes! The guy is a total brute, and it's not just for show. He could lift two trucks with both hands with absolute ease if he wanted to.

Leonardo Oh yikes, one of the brothers that a LOT of people tend to be persuaded by. Leo has the tendency to make some of the riskier decisions and ideas of the group, just to see how freaked out they can get new comers, what makes em run away screaming. It makes it more enjoyable for him. He loves- and I mean LOVES a chase once in a while, even if it spreads out into an entire week, he doesn't stop, as long as your in his town, his territory, you can't escape him or his brothers.

Leo's vampirism is one of the MANY faults and reasons the brothers have almost been caught. The guy pushes and tests limits like the little ass he is and waits to see what happens. Raphs killed people, sure, but Leo's killed people, critters, and he tends to leave them on people's doorsteps just to freak them out- especially if they've pissed him off. Or he's... Taken a liking to you.

His actions have gotten him locked up in the Church by the people a few times. And even though he continues to do it, he HATES getting chained up cause he's stuck their for a damn week, and all his brothers do is ridicule, taunt, or scold him. Any vampire powers? Yes! Leo's got some kind of... Trance inducing powers - it isn't like it is in shows or movies. It's a lot more... Subtle than that. It's he can make his point or voice sound more alluding, more conniving, and it almost feels like you can't refuse the guy.

Donatello. The lesser known of the vampire brothers, Donnie is extremely quiet and keeps to himself. And not in a shy way, this guy's seemingly resting bitch-face/death glare looks like he's looking directly through you and into your deepest darkest fears. He probably is.

But once you get to know him - as rare as it is unless he decides you're worth his time, he's still pretty blunt and cold, and he's almost cruel in some way. You can see some dark joy behind his eyes watching you get scared or squirm under his cold arm over your shoulder.

He doesn't seem like it, but he's got that persuasion and slight bloodlust that his twin Leo has. He just more collected about it. He tends to be the one who doesn't cause much of the missing accidents, (he's much more intelligent to clean and hide a crime scene, please, the man isn't a reckless idiot like his brothers.) But the one or two he's done are because someone pissed him off. The someone is his twin. Those two get in nasty- and I don't put it lightly when I say NASTY fights. Ranging from verbal to physical, it's rare that they actually get along so much so that they barely even talk to each other cause it ends in yelling or biting and scratching.

Any vampire powers? Yes! Same as his twin, maybe he dpes it more with that smolder or look he has rather than his voice, but it still gets the job done.

Michelangelo

And finally, the youngest of the Hamatos, Mikey. Of course, don't let that fool you. This vampire tends to be the most welcoming of newcomers out if all his brothers, while he's eerily sweet and calm, it does the trick to put people's minds at ease and get them to join their little rag-tag group.

He's usually the one you'd go to if you feel on edge about everything, him and Raph being more docile to newcomers before they decide to pounce.

While he gives on the laid-back persona... Don't get him mad or threaten his brothers. It'd like a whole new creature from the deepest darkest part of your soul is unleashed if you get on this vampires nerves.

And he's fast. They all are. Don't get me wrong, but the stealth this guy has sneaking and sprinting through woods. You're not gonna escape.

Any vampire powers? Yes! Super speed and levitation! The levitation is usually on his part - meaning he's the one floating around a few feet of ground and picking things up of the floor a few feet away from him. But he can pick people up if he decides he's too tired or annoyed to chase.

So in Sidelines, you've mentioned that Donnie doesn't really understand why Leo doesn't seem to want to push himself after the whole Shredder thing and takes it as rejection. I imagine it stings to do all this hard work to make things accessible for your brother, only to have him just. Lay there. And not really try to do anything with all this AMAZING work you just did.

Does this lead to any big blow out fights between them? What's the tipping point for that?

And does Donnie ever figure out (or get told) why Leo is acting the way he does?

yeah, unfortunately, since Donnie has a tight association between his gifts for his brothers and their love for him, having Leo flat out reject all the things he's built and all the upgrades he's done to make the lair livable for him feels like a rejection of Donnie himself, and he's pretty hurt by it. also, Donnie is kind of desperate for things to go back to normal, and he's upset that there's not some obvious fix for Leo's health problems, so Leo not doing what would help just compounds his frustrations.

of course, Leo's rejection of the chair and other accessibility tools aren't a rejection of Donnie in his mind; he definitely still loves his brothers very much, even if he gets aggravated with them. so he doesn't really understand why Donnie is mad, and he reads that as Donnie trying to push him into things he doesn't want, and they just spiral a bit in their misunderstandings and bitterness.

the fight I already wrote about is what a lot of their fights look like, more of a short but violent explosion followed by Donnie storming off and Leo wanting to be alone, rather than a long drawn out fight. for awhile Donnie avoids Leo entirely, which just makes them both feel worse and doesn't accomplish anything lol. I think they do have a big blow out at some point when it becomes clear that Leo's sulking is making his condition worse and Donnie loses it over Leo not taking care of himself.

I don't totally have this part of the story planned out but I think it's finally April that sits Donnie down and gets out of him that he feels like Leo's rejection of his work is a rejection of him, and points out it's pretty unfair to Leo to assume that when they haven't even talked about it (and no, yelling at each other does not count). and April is the one who Leo has been the most open with so far, letting April see how scared he is that he's never going to get better, and while he hasn't actually said it to her out loud she's more or less put together that Leo doesn't see the chair as a way to regain independence and mobility, he sees it as giving up on his own body ever working right again. she encourages Donnie to be a little more understanding of Leo and try not to assume the worst. and she's been encouraging Leo this whole time to stop hiding his feelings and be open about his fears and worries.

so at some point they do have a big heart-to-heart about it, and Leo does finally admit, at least in part, why he reacted the way he did. and he'll apologize for not being more appreciative of the work Donnie did, because he let his bitterness come out and didn't acknowledge how Donnie was trying to help, while Donnie apologizes for taking things so personally when Leo was just having a bad time.

the other problem with the first version of the chair is that Donnie got so excited designing it that he kinda forgot it's not, well, his, so Leo feels detached from it in the way he would if they just sourced him a chair from somewhere else. and also it ends up having cool features but lacking in things that are actually useful to Leo. in future designs Donnie is quick to involve Leo early on and actually listen to what he wants, what works, what gets in the way, etc, and it becoming a collaborative process for both of them really makes them happier with the final product and pulls them even closer together as brothers.

so it's a happy ending! they just take a bit to get there.

A RANT:

THE NEON LEON

(I) A rise to leadership

Pun intended bc Leo would love it

Has this been done yet? Of course, but i love ranting about my favorite characters and boy, rise tmnt has so much to rant about (well, the whole tmnt franchise has enough material to speak for HOURS buttt rise lives forever in my heart so yeah i'm biased). Might talk about mutant mayhem in the future idk.

Leonardo Hamato/Splinterson has always been the leader, the one that carries the weight of carrying the team and following splinter's steps as the next "head" of the family (as said by splinter in the 2012 tmnt). And yeah in much of the versions of the turtles, this is a very important aspect of his personality, it's his literal purpose; it's the catalyst for a lot of the narratives and storylines seen across the tmnt universe: His fights with Raph, his anxiety, his inferiority complex, his constant wish to be better, how he sometimes neglects (or simply goes against?)his brother's feelings in order to keep them and the team itself safe.

Being the leader is both the weight and medal that comes with being Leonardo, that sisyphean task that we will always see try to accomplish over and over again.

So if we want to explore why he is a great leader... shouldn't we take that weight off his shoulders?

And that my people, it's what rise does perfectly. The best way to prove that Leo is a great leader? To show us how he can handle the team from the shadows, let us see how well he knows his team's strengths and shortcomings.

But don't just make him want to be the leader, no no, show us why we should all trust him to.

First of all: Leo panicking at the face of danger, might be useful sometimes.

Honest to god: i think the rise writers and animators are amazing. They're so GOOD at showing us important pieces of the characters even without directly saying it.

First of all, he doesn't have a fight or flight response because he straight up waves his ōdachi directly at anything that attacks him and his brothers (bro has kill om sight sense, he literally sliced warren one time, remember?). He will always have the advantage, even when surprised. Also the way he lightens up the situation with his witty banter and one liners when stress is too much? Extra points for keeping team morale up👍

Or in a different case, leo's panic when the mad dogs get in trouble upon a stronger rival. Why is it great? Because even though he's losing his absolute shit, he's able to act and take the next conscious step; even when it's used for laughs: He calls for his father when his family is in danger. It may sometimes be a funny gag ; like in "Flushed but never forgotten" or soul fucking wrenching like when they're attacked by shredder and RAPH IS PROTECTING DONNIE AND LEO SCREAMS AND I- *ehem*. But he knows splinter it's capable of defending them, he trained them after all (this may be arguable when talking about season 1 splint but well, he still recognizes his father as a ninja and his master).

And thus, the next marvel of Leo:

B) He's completely aware of the team's abilities

He's a middle child, he has seen everything, and the most perfect example of it: Many unhappy returns.

BOY IF THAT'S NOT THE MOST AMAZING DEMONSTRATION OF LEO'S LEADERSHIP AND STRATEGY IDK WHAT ELSE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR

He trusts his siblings completely, sure he looks out for them and supports them when needed (while being sarcastic about it), but he knows they're amazing at the hero thing.

I wouldn't doubt it if Splinter; being with Leo most of the episode saw just how in control he was of the situation and went: "dude...why are you not the one leading the team? You're...actually so smart wtf????"

C)He knows how to dial down his brother's enthusiasm and calls out his father's faults (and sometimes hypocrisy)

Remember the paper thieves episode?

That's peak leader Leo

The whole team was full on trying to get killed for the lols, and what does he do? Pulls them to the side and explains why they should start with something more simple and gives a speech on why focusing on the "easier task" it's still a good hero job (look out for the small/weaker ones, right?)

Not only that, but he's the one that constantly calls out his dad's mess ups, remaining by his brother's side and defending them (THIS IS NOT A SPLINTER SLANDER, I'M SAD DAD SUPPORTER AND I WILL TALK ABOUT IT LATER) seen as one of the YouTube shorts or when splints nags then about keeping secrets from him: he stands for his team, "you are not supposed to do that/you do the same thing you yell at us for"

He both inspires and defends his team, and hey; a leader is not the one that orders, but the one that motivates and supports you.

D) He's their personal hype man

Cue back to point B, he is amazed by his siblings abilities, even if he dies hide it sometimes. Remember when mikey wanted to go on a solo mission? He's fully on board and never doubts mikey is in control of the situation (sure he does go to "save him" with the others later on but come on, you all heard the call and saw Raph panicking. He trusts him but he's still his little brother y'know?)

He knows Donnie is an absolutely genious and is completely aware of Raph's dedication to the hero gig and responsability.

April and Splints? He knows they're completely capable of holding their own and willingly helps them when the situation calls for it.

And this is it please be free to add anything you might like and tell me if i'm making sense??? Idk i just love him a lot😞

HECK EVEN CASEY, A LITERAL BOY HE JUST MET. He is aware of casey's passion and abilities; i mean, if his own future self trusts him as the only one capable to fix everything, why shouldn't he?

Conclusion: Leo quite literally grew to deserve the role of the leader.

He knew you weren't mean and didn't expect you to be

She handed you the drawing and you watched you quickly shift from being mad about something to a giggling mess

He didn't expect you to change so fast and showed him the picture

You had your arm around leo while handing your sisters hand

Leo found it adorable both the drawing and how you react

He will forever remember that moment and bring it up randomly

He expected you to be nice to your brother. If not he was ready to throw hands or I guess nunchucks

He was actually kinda excepting you to melt a bit when he gave you the drawing

So when your brother hands you a drawing and mikey watched your face turn from annoyed to all happy

He smiled(no you weren't annoyed with mikey)

You showed mikey the drawing and it was you flexing your arm with mikey holding on to your arm and you holding your brothers hand

He found it funny that your brother drew mikey like that but he guessed it was because mikey was shorter than you

But he loved how you treated your brother and afterwards smothered you in kisses

Donatello

He was actually a little worried about your sister

Because at first Donnie thought you were a little mean and still do so he thought you were mean to your sister

But oh boy when he seen hoe quickly your face changed from angry to all smiley and a little blush

You showed Donnie the picture and it was you holding Donnies hand along with your sisters and he found it cute

He chuckled at your reaction and found it adorable

He wished his brothers were like that a little

But he found you adorable

Donatello x Big Mama Assistant Reader? I gotcha ya'

At this point in the game Donatello is pretty used to people trying to take advantage of him. Purple Dragons, Big Mama, Master Splinter— basically anyone who throws the dude a compliment because they want to take advantage of him for his tech.

He's weak for that ✨praise✨

Despite being a genius intellectually, emotionally Donatello is easily manipulated into doing things. Like with the Purple Dragons and Master Splinter Donnie is eager to impress those he wants respect/praise from. Believing that if he gives/shows them how great he— his tech is they'll stay. They'll need him. Even if it's not exactly for him. As we find out in Donnie vs. Witch Town.

Praise is Donnie's form of reassurance that he is valued. Needed. To him aside from his tech he believes he doesn't bring anything to the team.

Soooo Donnie crushing hard for one of Big Mama's assistants because they compliment him? Sure I can see that.

Especially if you're literally just feeding his ego so you can retrieve some Intel for Big Mama to use against the Mad Dog's/or to her own personal advantage. Though I guess what you gotta be careful about is what happens when you ghost a turtle who is obsessed with you? Well you might just need to find out.

Sorry if it's a little OOC-ish, I rewrote this like ten times, initially with just head cannons, and then a one shot draft(several). Buuutt I kinda hated all of them sooo I posted the one I liked the most.

Probably should've re-read this more but I got work in the morning...

Fuck maybe Raph and Leo were right....

This might've been a bad idea...

Donatello was a prideful turtle. He didn't like admitting when he was wrong but, in this case scenario standing here under the beating lamps of Big Mama's Battle Nexus arena ten rounds into a seemingly endless fight. Donatello was starting to have second thoughts about his choice of just strolling up to the New Grand Nexus Hotel and negotiating with Big Mama. Somehow he should've anticipated this outcome. The jorogumo is notorious for adding twists to her deals. Especially when it came to her Battle Nexus. Nothing is as it seems with that british demon lady.

However somehow despite every rational bone screaming in his body to call off this arrangement, the possessive creature caged between his ribs refused. It wanted You. Donatello wanted You. The Yuki-Onna who strolled into the mutant's life all those months ago and infected his brain with your spoonfuls of honey coated poison.

The yokai who sang songs of praise and adoration that hypnotized the purple coded Hamato. Transfixed Donnie gave it all. Anything you asked for. It was yours, just don't abandon him.

Immediately Raph and Leo were on his case about the matter. Preaching about how he was just going to get used and dumped to the curb.

Mikey wouldn't say anything.

Donatello knew Mikey wanted to defend his brother's blossoming interest in love but, in those warm grey eyes it reflected back the youngest Hamato's inability to support this. It wasn't healthy. Donatello didn't need Doctor Feelings to tell him such. But he didn't care. Not until out of the blue you start ghosting the softshell. Long story short— he's devastated.

All together your calls, messages, surprise visits stopped. For weeks there wasn't a sign from you and the lack of (Y/n) time was causing Donnie to go through remission. Like a junkie without a fix the softshell was losing his mind. Everywhere he searched at all hours. Day, night, anytime that his brothers weren't there to stop him from pursuing you. During your extended absence both his father and siblings would go on about how this was a good thing for him. Meanwhile Donatello felt like his world was falling to pieces. Patience chipped away every day he couldn't find you. Before the techno turtle knew it, half a month had passed and he found himself standing in the New Grand Nexus Hotel lobby requesting a meeting with Big Mama.

That's why he was here. To get you back. This is your fault that he's this way. Donatello was just a man of science before you came along and muddled up his rational brain. Now the purple clad Hamato was gonna make sure that you pay for it.

Standing tall once more the sound of the crowd and the stadium's intercom speaking finally broke through the ringing that was leftover from the previous match. Allowing the mutant genius to finally tune into Big Mama's message that was being broadcasted.

"—Ahhh my good patrons~ For our last-aroo match of the tourna-warna-ment we have a special guest star instead of the champion we had originally set.... Give her a warm welcome back everyone! (Y/n), The Snow-woman!~ " the eight-legged Battle Nexus owner announced cheerfully. The projection was cut not a moment later and presented on the opposite side of the arena before the Mad Dog was you.

The (h/c) woman looked just the way she did the day the yokai had sang goodbye for the last time. Pressed white kimono and cold (e/c) eyes. Not sparing a single look to the commotion from the crowd behind her. That deadly gaze was locked on him. Beautiful.

Had not been for the agreement that Donatello had struck up with the British spider demon Donatello would've just stolen you away right then and there.

Like the fog they pumped in for your dramatic grand entrance you glided down the champion runway. Not at all inhibited by the fickle geta you used to complain about. Time slowing down for Donatello the closer you crept towards the ring.

Once locked inside with him Donatello could feel a switch flip inside of him. At first he was so happy that you were actually here and not some false advertisement promoted by Big Mama to lure the softshell turtle into her Battle Nexus. Though as soon as the endorphins left his system the mutant's veins were flooded with a different kind of emotion. Possessive anger. How dare the snow demon just leave him like that. The Mad Dog had given her whatever she desired only for the woman to have the audacity to turn around and leave him after she ruined him like this. It's her fault the ninja turtle felt like this. The demon assistant needed to be held accountable.

Without warning catching the techie turtle off guard you bolted forward. Only allowing Donatello just a second to react in time to protect himself from the icicle blade that formed in your (Dominant hand) hand somewhere between your dramatic entrance and attack. Regardless of its origins, the elemental weapon held up against the thick metal of Donatello's tech-bo that he defended himself with. Not wasting any time the softshell shoved the Yuki-Onna off with his staff before returning the attack with some strikes of his own. From there the two of you traded blows.

Some length of time passed before you began to show obvious signs of fatigue. The combination of the heat radiating off the stadium's overhead lamps and the overexertion of your abilities weakened you enough that eventually all you had left to keep the purple clad Hamato away was the wave of ice that blew forth from your pouting blue tinted lips.

What a nuisance

Had you known all those months ago that you'd be back here in this damn Battle Nexus fighting for your freedom, you wouldn't have ever agreed to that seemingly straightforward task. Befriend the purple clad turtle, get some Intel on Baron Draxum(maybe more) and get out. Simple. Until it wasn't. Donatello was becoming too close, too demanding, too far gone in his own delusion of what he called love. So you dipped.

How ironic you left because you didn't want to deal with the turtle's possessive emotions only to end up fighting against said techie genius for your freedom. Damn Big Mama and her stupid whims. If you managed to win this match. You were for sure never going back to the eight legged entrepreneur. Didn't want to risk being placed in a similar situation like this again.

Rolling around all over the place like a RPG character in a boss fight Donatello manages to eventually draw closer to the defrosting Yuki-Onna. Timing it perfectly to slap a muzzle onto your mouth the sudden action catching you off guard causing you to stumble back. Clawing at the metallic restraint that retracted and locked around your jaw.

Seeing his opportunity Donatello knocks you down onto your ass before activating the electrical prongs in his tech-bo. In a swift move the mutant turtle held you down with his foot as he stabbed the ends of the built in taser into your stomach electrocuting you until your vision went dark.

The moment that it was declared the (h/c) haired woman was down for the count. From the surrounding stands a roar of excitement erupted within the colosseum all at once. The cheers of spectators barely drowned out only by Big Mama's announcement of the purple coded mutant's victory. Giddiness evident in the jorogumo's tone despite being out a helper.

However that was not what Donatello was concerned about.

Not wasting another second in hitting the button on his tech-bo allowing the contraption to retract into its small tubbing and to be put away. Leaving his three digit grasps open to scoop up his prize. Overwhelmed with finally having you in his grasp once again the purple coded Hamato completely forgets about his own battered state. Inky pools focused solely on the unconscious yokai that haunted his waking thoughts and dreams.

From behind him Donatello could hear the arrival of a group of footsteps. Standing up with your figure resting in his arms Donatello turns to face Big Mama as she struts towards your guy's battered figures. Two yokai bellhops following dutifully behind the spider demon boss.

" Fufufuh looks like some-bitty-body is a happy winner~ " the business woman teased as she approached. Stopping just in front of the two of you as she analyzed the scene with amusement.

" What a show! I'm soooo pleased that you were able to win dearie~ However there is still one little last itsy bitsy part of our deal you're forgetting~ " the spider demon chided playfully. Although her tone was its usual playfulness behind the lenses of her teal cat-eye frames the jorogumo held an impatient look.

"Oh how could I forget?" Donatello replied sarcastically as he released your legs holding you up against his plastron as his free hand reached back into his battle shell to grab his and your ticket out of this mad house.

" There. Everything I could find left over from Baron Draxum's lab that was salvageable " the softshell turtle said flatly as he threw the flashdrive towards the fox bellhop to the right of the Battle Nexus owner. The fox not wasting a second to handed the flashdrive over to it's boss.

"Splendid! Well~ you better get going young purple one. Yuki-Onna's don't respond well to heat and today is supposed to be terribly hot! Better hurry~" Big Mama warned whimsically as she began to walk away back towards the direction of her luxury skybox.

With that out of the way Donatello doesn't waste a second longer standing around in the middle of the Battle Nexus arena. Quickly the mad dog recollects your figure into his arms bridal style fleeing the Battle Nexus arena and hotel as quickly as possible.

Once out of the mob boss's reach back on the surface Donatello couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. He made it, he found you. The creature caged in his chest was pleased. Content that he has you at his side once again and this time the purple clad softshell was gonna ensure things would be different. He wasn't gonna let you leave him in shambles again. He was gonna make sure you needed him as much as he needs you.

After all it was like what Mikey said:

"The heart wants what it wants"

And his wanted you even if your's didn't want him.

¶¶ Author's Notes ¶¶

Guys so as I was writing this I was thinking about how the Kraang could've affected Donatello and Raphael in the long run.

Like obviously PTSD but what I mean is like cray cray wise.

Like both Raph and Donnir had fused with the Kraang Hive mind in some form or another.( Raph mind controlled/possessed, Donnie mind melded )

I'm just saying there's gotta be some sort of side effects from that experience. Like having a harder time differentiate between reality and hallucinations. Or possibly maybe their brains chemistry has been fucked up making them more aggressive/possessive? Idk

I'm thinking about writing/or elaborating further on this in a future post. Yandere scenarios of course.

I just got a lot to write but, you guys know me. I'm all over the place~
