throughout the series of drake and josh it pretty consistently implies that josh nichols is a christian (josh peck is jewish) and in the finale of the series helen (played by yvette nicole brown, not jewish[?]) is portrayed as a practicing jew
#i dont have a problem w either of those things necessarily i just find it interesting#if i had to guess. drake and josh was a mainstream that didnt wanna touch on religion generally#but josh was kind of a dork and usually when josh's religious beliefs are implied it is in dorkish ways#such as praying and thanking the lord after he has his first kiss.#but since dan schneider is jewish perhaps he wanted to make helen have a jewish wedding in the finale?#not that there needs to be a reason. but u do notice occasional jewish-related jokes in d&j but none of them are what you could call#offensive. in good faith that is. 'eric is a pacifist' 'i thought he was jewish?' like come on#text post#i have been rewatching drake and josh recently and i have had so many thoughts#im almost done. i just have left that stupid dance episode that they premiered last for the stupid reason#of a special dance-themed premiere night in fall 2007. they premiered the third episode of icarly and a new zoey 101 on the same night#which i think is so stupid. they should've aired really big shrimp last. it messed w my understanding of the series at the time lol#i remember not really knowing that the show was ENDING. like i knew icarly was starting & miranda was doing that#i thought really big shrimp was like just another special like go hollywood.#and then like two days later they premiered the helicopter episode for some reason#and i was like why is drake not famous in this. he just had a number 1 song in a superbowl commercial#and then a month later the dance one. which. if anything is satisfying about that as a final episode it's just that#that unnamed girl from the blues brothers episode who is obsessed w drake shows up again and congratulates them#and the very final line of the series is 'who is she?' because. because really who IS she?#that's a funny enough throwback to wrap things up with i suppose#drake and josh wasn't a highly serialized show so i can see how they could air those after the intended finale and act like it didn't matte#but i have to tell you it did fuck with my brain a bit at the time. lol. i still think of those episodes as having 'happened' after#and on paramount plus those episodes are still placed after really big shrimp. the injustice#but thats kinda messy. what a weird way to end such an influential and popular sitcom#season 4 had a few lowpoints while still also having some VERY solid episodes.#idk. ill have to continue my series review another time im getting way too longwinded here#helen dubois is jewish

i doubt it helps, but i also think eddie is the type to try to be respectful at a family holiday party but ultimately end up wanting to fuck you in a guest room or finger you in a closet at the very least 🫠
Hahahahaha this made it so much worse in the best possible way, I love you anon.
Bad for the Holidays
Eddie Munson x Fem!reader
Note: I wrote most of this in my childhood bedroom while visiting home for thanksgiving. So this got very real, guys Lmao
Warnings: NSFW, 18+ ONLY!, teasing, dirty talk, pet names (Princess, bad girl, baby girl), alcohol consumption, oral sex (m receiving), PIV sex / unprotected sex, hand job, cum eating, semi public sex? (Your family is in the same house at the time)
Eddie Munson never thought he’d find himself at a holiday party straight out of a fucking Norman Rockwell painting, but then again he’d never thought he’d meet someone like you. Someone funny and kind and intelligent while simultaneously cool as hell and hot as hell. You’re everything he’d never let himself hope for, and he’s nothing like what he believes you deserve. Not that you listen to him when he voices his fears over not being good enough for you.
“Stop fidgeting, Eddie. This isn’t a big deal,” you whisper to him as the two of you stand on your door step. You pry open his tense fist to hold his hand in yours and he takes a deep breath, looking down at your smile. “They’re gonna love you.”
“Yeah but what if…what if they don’t?” Eddie mumbles. His brow is furrowed and his lips pout and all you want to do is kiss his frown away. But you know there’s no time for that. So you shake your head and squeeze his hand.
“I love you, so that’s all that matters,” you reassure him. “But this conversation is silly because they’re gonna love you.”
And you’re right. Of course. How could people not love Eddie? Especially people who loved you and who wanted to see you happy. And Eddie makes you the happiest you’ve ever been, and that just radiates off you when you walk into the room, proud to show off your boyfriend.
Eddie’s rough around the edges when you first meet him, sure. But he’s gone to great lengths to appear even more presentable than usual tonight, wearing a clean black button down and black jeans that don’t even have any holes in the knees. Before long, and exactly as you knew would happen, Eddie’s regaling your extended family with stories about his friends back in Hawkins and about life on tour as an up snd coming musician.
It’s pretty late by the time things start winding down. The dinner’s long done, your parents have gone to sleep and most of the older family members have puttered off with leftovers in tow. That’s just left you and Eddie with the crowd closer to your age - and amalgamation of cousins and friends of the family in their early to mid twenties. You all play a few rounds of board games and a few glasses of wine deep, Eddie starts looking way more appetizing than the holiday dinner.
You stare at him over your wine glass as one of your cousins prattle’s on about some drama going on at her job. But you can barely hear her because you’re watching Eddie pal around with Josh, your neighbor who you’d crushed on growing up. Next to Eddie, neighbor boy is absolutely nothing, an observation you make silently and with pride. Your boyfriend has an easy air to him, lounging back against the couch as he speaks, legs spread wide and casual. He looks completely at ease, comfortable in his spread out position. If you weren’t still in front of family you’d walk right over there and straddle him there and then. You lick your lips and silently hate him for the way he’s done absolutely nothing and yet has fully managed to get you salivating from afar. It’s unfair.
You couldn’t possibly know, however, just how much you’ve been driving him crazy all night. Bending over to pick things up in your tight little party dress. Munching on appetizers behind your red lips, licking your fingers clean of any crumbs or sauce. Pushing up against him when the two of you passed through narrow hallways and through crowded parts of the house.
He’s been working so hard not to pop an erection in this, the most inappropriate of venues, that he’s spent the last half hour practically avoiding you. When he looks up from his conversation with your boring neighbor, however, just to find you fucking him with your eyes from across the room, he thinks he’s going to combust.
You notice him frown when you finally catch his eye, but you don’t care enough to wonder what’s bothering him. Instead you wink at him - making his jaw drop - before raising your arms in a theatrical stretch with a matching dramatic yawn.
“God, I’m beat. Got a long drive home tomorrow,” you say to nobody in particular. Friends and family try to protest but you jump up and haul Eddie along after you, dragging him out the door.
When you finally make it to your childhood bedroom, you push Eddie towards the bed and lock the door all in one swift motion. You’ve kicked off your shoes and you’re reaching for the zipper of your dress before Eddie’s grabbing at your hips to stop you.
“What in the world are you doing?” he asks through gritted teeth, panic in his eyes. He’s sitting on your bed with you standing in front of him, his hands holding your wrists motionless to halt your effort to disrobe.
“I…I’m trying to get naked. And you should be doing the same,” you reply. Confused by the question in the first place. Eddie gazes up at you with. Wide eyes.
“But your family is like…right outside.”
“So?” you ask, now genuinely confused.
“And you’re tryna…you want to…”
“Fuck. I wanna fuck you. What’s the problem?” You let out an incredulous laugh. His grip loosens on your wrists so you circle your arms around his neck, massaging his shoulders. He seems to grapple for words so you continue to speak. “I don’t get it. You fuck me with my roommates in the next room all the time!”
“First of all, Nancy and Robin have made us listen to them having sex all the time and you know it,” he huffs immediately, but then returns to looking stressed. “And I’m friend with them. I don’t need to impress them…”
Your heart flips at the sentiment but you shake your head.
“You don’t need to impress anyone here either,” you argue, but Eddie’s having none of it. He springs to his feet in front of you, gripping your waist to pull you against him.
“That’s not fucking true and you know it, Princess.” He runs an aggravated hand through his curly hair. “I’m a freak. Your family wants - at least they should want - someone better for you than—,”
“Shut up. Shut up shut up,” you hiss, smacking his chest lightly with your open palm. “Nobody here knows your reputation from Hawkins, and even if they did, it wouldn’t matter because I’m fucking head over heels for you. You got that?”
“Yes ma’am,” Eddie says weakly, the ghost of a smile starting to curl at the corners of his mouth at how worked up you got all of us sudden.
“Now,” you say definitively, taking a step back to put your hands on your hips and take a deep breath. “I had three glasses of wine and I’m feeling…” you cast about for the right word and not being able to remember the word ‘horny’ you say the next best thing you can think of “…frisky. So you’re going to shut up and fuck me, snd you’re going to like it. Understand.”
Eddie looks dumbfounded, gazing at you with a mix of adoration, awe, and humor. He nods emphatically and you take another shuddering breath.
“Ok good. Help me take my clothes off.”
You expect him to crowd you. To throw you on the bed and rip off your dress and be on you so fast you barely see him coming.
Instead he walks over to you slowly, his eyes dark and lips pulled into a small smile. He steps around you to find the zipper you’d struggle with, lips finding the back of your neck as he pushes the zip all the way down to the curve of your lower back. He kisses his way over your shoulder as he pushes the fabric down and off your body. You shiver under his lips and the cool air you’re now exposed to. His hands find the front clasp of your bra - after making a pitstop to squeeze your breasts - and soon your bra joins your dress on the floor.
Eddie mouths at the side of your throat now as his hands grope every square inch he can reach, the bulge in his jeans pressing into your ass through the thin fabric of your panties.
It’s Heaven. Or close. The only thing is that it is noticeably, deafeningly quiet.
“W-why - oh. Why aren’t you saying anything?” you mumble out. Eddie chuckles against your skin and hips at your ear lobe.
“Told me to shut up,” he whispers. His hand slides forward to cup your mound and you swallow a moan.
“Oh so now you listen to what I tell you,” you bristle. Eddie’s chuckle vibrates through you again and you grind back against him intentionally. You grab his hand and shove it into your panties, no longer satisfied being touched through the fabric.
“I forgot. My baby’s feeling…frisky.” His voice is low and rich with amusement and sensuality. You huff but don’t protest because his big, thick fingers are finally where you wanted them all night. Swirling through your slick, his middle finger prodding at your entrance but not yet pushing in.
You try to step forward to urge him toward the bed, but Eddie pushes you to the side, his free hand coming to brace up against the wall in front of you.
“Not so fast. That bed is squeaky as hell,” he mutters between kisses to your shoulder.
“Well yeah. It’s almost as old as me,” you say, rolling your eyes.
“Yeah, and you squeak under me all the time too, Princess.” You go to roll your eyes again at his cocky tone but the quickly roll back into your head as he shoves not one but two fingers into your tight heat. You let out a high pitched squeal that you do your best to smother with your hand and he laughs. “See? What did I tell you?”
You don’t say anything at first because you’re so lost in the feeling of finally getting what you want. Eddie leans his weight against you as he picks up momentum with his hand, and you find your front getting pressed up against the wall.
“Needed you aaaaaall fucking day, Princess. You’re absolutely infuriating,” Eddie says raggedly into the back of your neck. His fingers hook up and you gasp at the added pleasure.
“How am I - oh god. In…infuriating?” you barely manage to ask in response.
“Tried to be on my best behavior. But you had to prance around looking like a fucking wet dream, didn’t you?”
“I didn’t do anything…” you try to argue, but Eddie snaps the waistband of your panties, stretched out as they are from his fingering, and you flinch.
“Oh yeah? Then why did I know the color of your panties by the time we started dinner?”
He’s right of course. You’d been intentionally finding reasons to bend over in front of him, or cross and uncross your legs in front of him - anything to draw his attention between your thighs. As if his attention was ever anywhere else to begin with.
“Wanted to make me slip up, huh? Wanted me to drag you into the bathroom in the middle of dinner and fuck your brains out?”
“Yes!” you gasp, though you’re less sure that you’re affirming his statement and more sure that your orgasm is fast approaching. “Oh fuck, Eddie.”
“Bend over,” he says suddenly. His voice is more demanding than usual and a thrill runs up your spine. He steps back and gives you room, which you use to shuffle a bit to the side and lean over, bracing your palms against the seat of an old wicker chair you’ve had in your room since elementary school. With your ass up, you half worry that Eddie will forget where you are and spank you loudly, but he seems to remember and opts to grope you instead. He slides your panties to your ankles and you step out of them, widening your stance in a way that has him humming appreciatively behind you.
You steal a glance over your shoulder to confirm the suspicion that he is, in fact, fisting his hard cock, staring at your ready pussy and lining himself up.
“You play the good girl so well, but you’re just a bad girl for me, isn’t that right Princess?” Eddie asks as he pushes the tip of his cock in a circle around your aching entrance. You whine at the fact that he’s not yet inside you, trying to push back to make him slide in. Eddie laughs and grips you by your hips, hauling them higher and making your knees shake. “Look at you. Not even listening because you want my cock that bad.”
You toss a glare over your shoulder at him.
“Eddie if you don’t get inside me right - fuck!” You hiss through your teeth when he slides all the way into you at once. One hand slides down the small of your back, up your spine, to grip solidly at the back of your neck as he wastes absolutely no time getting a good pace going.
The slap of skin on skin ringing out in your small childhood bedroom is absolutely obscene, as are the whimpers that spill out of you despite your best efforts.
“Eddie…so fucking - oh!”
You’re trying to tell him how good he’s making you feel, but you’re sure he’s able to gather that from the way you’re completely unable to finish your statement. Eddie’s chuckle vibrates into your body and you reach back one hand to clutch at his where it holds you at your hip.
“Feels good, baby? Hm?” he asks, almost mockingly but you can’t muster enough energy to reply in any way aside from genuine.
“Feels so good, Eds,” you whimper. Despite his teasing, the way you’re scrabbling to make contact with him tugs at his heartstrings. He lifts his hand up from your hip enough to grab your reaching one.
“Christ, even when you’re a bad girl, you’re still so fucking sweet,” he mumbles, leaning down over you to press bruising kisses to your back and shoulders. You pant beneath him and relish in the additional contact.
“Eddie…mmm Eddie. So full.”
“Fuck. You can’t say shit like that when you haven’t cum yet, princess. I’m only fucking human, I’m gonna fucking blow.”
“Good! Give it to me,” you whine out, and Eddie pretty much loses it.
“Ok, come here my lil greedy baby,” Eddie says gruffly, though not without humor. He pulls out of you - and he has to shush you when you whine in protest - before hauling you around so that he’s sitting on your wicker chair and sliding you into his lap.
“Fucking yes. Oh my god yes.” You’re practically crying now as Eddie gets straight to bouncing you up and down on his cock. You cling to him, your fingers tightening in his wild curly hair as you breathe heavily and gaze at him with unfocused eyes.
“You’re just a horny little mess, aren’t you?” Eddie chuckles darkly. You nod and grip at his shoulders so the leverage let’s you help him move you up and down on his lap. Eddie kisses at the hollow at the base of your throat before looking back into your hazy eyes. “Hey. You with me?” He lightly taps your cheek with his palm when you don’t respond, so far gone in pleasure.
“Y-yeah?” you hiccup. Since you’re bouncing enough on your own shaking thighs, Eddie’s able to slide a free hand from the meat of your hips down to start playing at your clit. So you’re even farther gone now.
“Did you bring any turtlenecks in that little suitcase of yours?” Eddie asks you and your brow knits on what he finds to be a cute little scrunch as you struggle to comprehend the question.
“Yeah I brought one—oh my fucking god…”
Before you’d even finished answering his question, Eddie’s sucking and nipping at the skin of your throat. An action he knows can send you over the edge.
And it does.
You cum in a burst of pleasure that has you rocking against Eddie desperately, clinging to him as you do your best to keep him inside you at the deepest point for as long as possible.
Eddie, to his credit, let’s you do what you want with him. He holds your face in his hands and presses your foreheads together, nodding at your quiet moans.
“There it is. That’s what you wanted, sweet girl? That’s it.”
He’s patient as you come down from your high, but it’s his dick that twitches expectantly inside you which reminds you he still has to cum.
You do your best to start bouncing again, but your legs are shaky. Eddie laughs and stills you, his big hands on your waist, and you grumble.
“Shhh don’t worry about that. It’s good enough just hold you,” he reassures you. You look at him with bleary, pleasure soaked eyes.
“No. You need to cum, too,” you insist. Eddie shrugs, clearly content.
“Having my dick deep inside you is enough of a win, Princess,” he says with a chuckle.
But you’re having none of it. You struggle to your feet and then slide down to the floor in front of him to settle down on your knees. Eddie’s eye go wide and you grip his wet cock, fisting up and down on his lap.
“In high school I wouldn’t even listen to songs with dirty lyrics. Now my boyfriend’s dick is out while he sits on my reading chair in my childhood bedroom,” you observe irreverently with a laugh. Eddie joins in, though his laugh is more strained the longer you jerk him off.
“That’s what I was saying. Everyone thinks you’re so innocent. And yet here you are - just got your brains fucked out and now you’re on your knees for me.”
As if to punctuate and prove his statement, you lean forward and swallow him whole, your cheeks hollowing to create a tantalizing amount of suction,
“Oh mother of - fuck!” Eddie whispers harshly. You bob up and down on his cock without preamble. You could tell how close he was from the near steady stream of pre-cum that leaked from his tip.
Your hands knead into his thighs as you take him deeper and deeper, being careful not to gag too loudly when his spongey head hits the back of your throat.
“Fuck, Princess. That’s…oh god that’s…”
He’s rendered even more speechless when you grab his hand and place it on the back of your head, pressing down to indicate that you’d like him to control your movements. Something you’d never done with previous lovers. Only Eddie.
Eddie curses under his breath and blinks rapidly before doing as you’ve asked him to do - guiding you up and down on his cock by his grip on the back of your head. His cock pushes deep into your throat and Eddie’s eyes roll back into his skull.
“Jesus H. Christ you’re such a bad girl, letting me do this right now. Such a bad fucking girl.” He’s rambling at this point and you love it. You snake a hand between your thighs and begin playing with your clit as he fucks your throat. Overwhelmed by the feeling of him using you and the nature of his words.
When he lets you pull back to finally breath, you choke and sputter before speaking up, voice wrecked.
“Like being a bad girl for you, Eds,” you moan against his balls, jerking his spit and slick soaked cock with your hand. Eddie’s sure he won’t survive this and closes his eyes against the intense pleasure conjured up by the image of you before him.
“God, you get so messy for me, Princess. You know I love that.” You nod frantically and that’s when he notices your other hand has disappeared between your legs, touching yourself. He bites his lip to smother his groan. “Were you really touching yourself while choking on my dick, baby?”
You nod again with wide, doe eyes.
“I wanna cum again,” you say simply, brow knitting together from the way you toy with your clit feverishly. “But I want you to cum, too.”
“Baby girl, you keep looking at me and touching me like that, I’m gonna cum any second.”
Your breath speeds up and so does your finger on your clit. Your fist moves faster up and down his cock and you know he’s close, so you scootch up even closer between his spread thighs.
“Where d’you wanna cum, Eddie?” you ask. “My face? My tongue? My tits?” You model each option for him, turning your head to offer your cheek, sticking out your tongue, and shimmying your naked chest to make your breasts bounce.
“Oh shit oh shit…” Is all Eddie can say as his eyes zero in on your tits. His abdomen seizes and you deliver a handful more expert tugs, angling his cock towards your chest just in time. His white cum paints your tits just as your own second orgasm takes over, making your spasm a bit and concave into yourself.
It’s another minute or two before either of you move, your hand finally stilling and letting go of his softening cock. Eddie slumps back against the chair and rubs his eyes harshly with the heels of his hands before gazing back down at your messy figure.
“Jesus fucking Christ, Princess…” he mutters low. You simply grin at him, gathering the cum on your tits and placing it in your mouth with a happy hum.
“Thanks for my present, Eddie,” you say in a lilting voice and Eddie rolls his eyes at you, reaching down to haul you up off the floor and into his lap.
“If anyone in your family heard that and decides they don’t like me because someone couldn’t keep it in her pants…” he grumbles the threat half heartedly, contradicting his own tone by kissing your throat. Right on the fresh bruise that you will definitely need to cover with a turtleneck tomorrow. You giggle and cling to him.
“Nobody heard it. And besides, isn’t keeping me happy the most important thing?” you ask cheekily. Eddie laughs, a little closer to full volume this time, and crushes you to his chest.
“You happy, Princess?” he asks a beat later. Despite the volume of his laugh, the question comes out quieter. As if he’s not 100% certain what your answer will be. You pull back and take his face in your hands so you can imbue your response with all the strength you can muster after being fucked so good.
“I’m absurdly happy, Eddie Munson. And you better be, too, because I don’t plan on giving this up any time soon.”
He kisses you stupid in response, finally deciding the squeaky bed will have to do and hauling you over to start getting ready for sleep.
~*~
The next morning over coffee, eggs, and toast you get to witness yet again just how much your boyfriend has charmed your family and friends. They hang on his every word, laugh at his jokes, and ask him questions. And you know they aren’t just being nice, because they’ve never been this nice to any guy you’ve brought home before.
Watching Eddie regale some of your cousins with a particularly silly story from his latest small town tour, the sun hits him just right as it filters through the kitchen window. He’s back lit, haloing his hair and making him look particularly handsome. Your heart swells and you can’t take the yearning adoration that fills you to the brim.
To offset the achingly sweet emotions swirling within you, you have to do something silly. When Eddie looks at you over someone’s shoulder, you mouth “you’re fucking hot” at him and his face lights up in a massive grin, shaking his head. He mouths back -
“You’re bad.”

Smut under the cut
the thought of your boyfriend using you for his own pleasure has always been one that extremely excited you. joshua was sweet, a true angel most of the time. funny and kind and always trying to make you feel good, to take care of your needs before his own. for the longest time you felt almost ashamed of wanting him to use you whenever he wanted, but at some point you decided that the worst thing that could happen would be him saying he wasn’t really into that. and you’d be fine because it wasn’t like your sex life wasn’t fulfilling enough.
what you had not expected was him growing beet red, his eyes wide in something like shock when you tell him. he is baffled, speechless really. and it takes him a few minutes to regain his composure. you smile at him, caress his hand and reassure him that it is just a thought. he is not obligated to act on your wish if he doesn’t feel comfortable. when he asks you what exactly you mean when you say whenever he wants, your answer makes him swallow. it makes his cock twitch in his underwear. it makes his mind go wild with thoughts he normally wouldn’t allow himself to have. you were his princess, his everything, so precious and good. you deserved to be pampered, to be treated like a queen. never would he ever allow himself to… but now this. now you’re telling him you want him to use you and it begins a process in his brain.
a few days go by and you think joshua might just not be into it. and you’re cool with that. you go through your day as you usually do until one evening you come home from work and joshua is sitting at the dining table with his laptop and work notes scattered around. he looks up at you when you enter the room and gets up, his ears as red as his face a few days ago.
“baby,” he begins, his hands finding your hips and he kisses you once, twice, before placing his forehead against yours.
“josh, what is it?” you ask, worried, one of your hands cupping his cheek. he licks his lips.
“what we discussed the other day… about me and you and…,” he looks at you and you know what he means, a small smile on your lips as you nod.
“well i was thinking … do you- do you really mean it when you say i can use you when you’re asleep?”
your eyebrows shoot up in surprise, but you are quick to nod. just the thought of it alone makes your cunt clench.
“yes, honey, i mean it. i really… really would love for you to use me when i’m sleeping, or… any time at all, really. just want you to feel good, joshy.”
your sultry voice and the way you look at him almost make him bend you over the table, doing as you wish right there. but there is still a report he needs to finish and so he just nods, kissing your cheek with a semi hard cock in his pants before sitting back down.
he lays awake that night while you’re sound asleep. he had been worried you might not be able to sleep after what you’d discussed but here you are now. soft and cute snores proving you are really gone, one hand tucked under your cheek while the other lays flatly on the mattress. you are laying on your side, your backside turned to joshua and he contemplates. his cock has been hard for hours he feels. his heart is beating rapidly, even echoing in his ears and he thinks back to the words you had said a few days ago as well as tonight. you want him to use you. want him to feel good. so you would definitely be okay if he-
he finds himself pressed against your ass five seconds later. his cock is right there between your cheeks, still behind his boxers, but, god, does it feel good. he moans quietly, one hand moving to the front of you, touching your tit over your (his) sleep shirt. he wonders if your nipple will harden when you touch it. another moan escapes his throat when it does. he lets his hand slide underneath your shirt, thumb and index twirling your nipple, his cock growing even harder against your backside. he kisses the back of your neck, licks the spot underneath your ear and finally moves to touch you between your legs.
joshua loves your pussy. loves it so much he literally can’t get enough of it. ever since your first conversation about this topic, he hadn’t touched you, so he’s a little scared of coming sooner than later. still, he feels your folds underneath your panties, letting a finger get coated in your juices to eventually push it inside, your tight walls clenching around him right away. he groans again, beginning to rock his hips against your ass, the friction making his eyes roll back. he ruts against you, free hand getting his cock out to actually feel your skin against his hard length and, fuck, it feels heavenly. he soon adds another finger, stretching your cunt open, letting it get adjusted before he’d finally sink into you and fuck you until he filled you to the brim.
“so good for me even when asleep… my perfect princess,” he whispers, softly shoving you onto your stomach, leaving your cunt open for him to access. he licks his lips, lets his hand pump his cock a few times, before finally pulling out his fingers and replacing them with his leaking cock.
the moan he lets out when he feels you around him almost wakes you up. just almost. your body reacts accordingly to what is happening - your pussy sucking him in as it always does, dripping onto the sheets as if your subconscious knows how fucking hot you find this. it probably does. joshua bottoms out, his hands are on either side of you, his hips rutting against your ass, cock now going in and out of your pussy in a speed that has him see stars.
“f-fucking hell, such a good, perfect pussy, sh-shit,” he can’t keep his voice or his noises down and it doesn’t come as a surprise that you wake up with arousal shaking your whole body, all sleepiness gone within mere seconds. you cry out, your hands gripping the bed sheets as your cunt clenches around joshua’s cock over and over again.
“j-josh!” you whimper and he looks down at your face, sees your eyes staring at him, the hotness radiating from you. something inside of him shifts and his angelic demeanor disappears once and for all as he moves one hand to push your head into the mattress, his thrusts getting harder.
“such a slut, wants to get used like a toy doesn’t she? wants her cunt to be nothing but a cumrag, wants to wake up in the morning with it still dripping out of her, fuck,” he hears your cries against the mattress, feels you coming on his cock, the waves of pleasure almost getting him off the edge too.
“o-oh my god- j-josh, don’t stop!” you know there is more, know he can make you come at least one more time and joshua picks up his pace again, letting off your head and instead wrapping his arm around you to press his thumb down on your clit, your whole body jerking as you arch your back.
“what a good slut i got myself, such a good filthy slut, isn’t that right?” his eyes can’t stay open anymore, his hips moving at an uncontrollable speed and the second you cry out that, yes, you are nothing but a filthy slut, his cum shoots out his cock and into you, his moans music to your ears as he gets you over the edge once more, fucking the both of you through your orgasms.
josh collapses on top of you, heavy breath against your ear and you feel sweat rolling down your forehead. your pussy is still pulsating around his softening cock and joshua jerks forward once again, kissing your neck.
“you’re incredible,” he mumbles against your skin and you chuckle, turning your head so you could see him a little better.
“i know,” you grin back and joshua laughs before pulling out of you and going back to his angelic self, walking to the bathroom to get you a warm wet cloth to clean yourself up.

IOTA Reviews: Derision
Tumblr media
Well, here we are. This is the episode you've all been waiting for me to cover. The one people claim is the cream of the crop when it comes to badness, not just for the insane amount of retcons and cases of character assassination, but for how it retroactively makes one of the most criticized parts of the entire show worse by comparison. If you've seen the episode, you know what I'm talking about.
Let's get into the fourteenth episode of Miraculous Ladybug's fifth season: Derision
We start off with Marinette waking up for the day before getting a call from Adrien, who gives one of the clunkiest pieces of exposition I've ever heard on this show, and that's saying something.
Adrien: I was just going to tell you how excited I am that we're meeting at the swimming pool later, and to wake you up just in case you were still sleeping.
youtube
Just as she hangs up, Marinette's hands start to tremble, having visions of a locker, hinting at some old memories resurfacing. Just to get this out of the way, but one thing I want to give this episode props for is the way these panic attacks are portrayed. The colors change, the environments warp around, and it gives off a very uneasy feeling. It kind of reminds me of this one episode of The Twilight Zone, “Little Girl Lost”, which used similar visuals to depict the otherworldly atmosphere of another dimension.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marinette meets up with Adrien at the local pool, and has another panic attack. Kim and Ondine seem to notice this.
Kim: Woah, Adrien. That must've been some prank you pulled to make Marinette freak out like that. What did you do to her?
Ondine: It's not funny, Kim! Can't you see Marinette's not okay?
Kim: Oh, come on. She always reacts like that when someone pranks her.
Kim then proceeds to tell Adrien and Ondine (and by extension, the audience) about what he means. I'm going to talk a lot about this, so to make things easier for all of us, I'll give you the short version so you have an idea of what happened.
About a year before the events of “Origins”, we see Chloe was bullying Marinette even more than she did before then, constantly pulling sadistic pranks Megan from Drake & Josh would find to be overkill, while making her late to class. To make things worse, none of her teachers believed her and took Chloe's side all the time, giving her detention on the weekends. Mylene, Rose, and Juleka try to help Marinette, but apparently, Chloe orders them to not talk with her before saying that “she'll be there to make Marinette's life a nightmare”.
The only person with the common sense to help out Marinette is Socqueline, that girl from “Jubiliation”. Socqueline learns that Marinette has a crush on Kim, who is even more of a jerk than he was during the first half of Season 1, and when Marinette thinks about asking him out to the swimming pool after school, Socqueline advises Marinette to be careful. Sabrina tips off Chloe to Marinette's plan, so Chloe goes to give Kim advice to pull a prank on Marinette. At the pool, just as Marinette confesses her feelings to Kim, Kim gives her a box full of spiders, causing her to panic and fall backwards into the pool. Chloe films the thing with the intent to make it go viral, but Socqueline stops her plan before she can upload it. Kim doesn't seem to see what he did was wrong, seeing it as a harmless joke as Socqueline tells him to piss off.
It's here that Marinette determines that if she ever has feelings for a boy ever again, she'll need to be super prepared, explaining how much she knows about Adrien and his schedule in later episodes. Chloe then gets Socqueline expelled from school just a few weeks before the end of the school year. Marinette blames herself for what happened, but Socqueline tells her that sometimes, no matter how dire the odds seem, she needs to muster up the courage to fight the good fight.
Oh, and Marinette was almost akumatized by Monarch again, but it's really just an excuse to keep her away while Kim tells the story.
So... let's talk about this flashback. Clocking in at about ten minutes, almost half of the episode's runtime, this is easily the part everyone (myself included) seems to have problems with, for all kinds of reasons. Let's break down each and everything wrong with this flashback.
#1: The Portrayal of Chloe
Surprisingly, this is the least of my problems. Compared to Kim (who I'll get to later), Chloe is mostly in character with how she's usually portrayed by this point in the series. She's egotistical, she orders Sabrina around, she hates Marinette, and throws her father's name around over and over again like it's a boomerang. My feelings on the wasted opportunities with her character aside, this does make sense seeing how this takes place before Season 1.
But there's the problem. This takes place before Season 1, and Chloe does things she never did in Season 1, or any of the other seasons for that matter. She clearly has the teachers and principal doing what she wants, she can boss the other students around (which I'll also get to later), she pulls sadistic practical jokes on Marinette, and even uses her dad's name to get Socqueline expelled. In the show, she doesn't really do any of this. Sure, she can occasionally use her dad's influence to get what she wants (Lady Wifi, Rogercop, Frightningale, Determination), but it was never to this extent. While she also tried to act like she was better than the rest of her peers, barring Sabrina, nobody ever listened to her or took her seriously. Chloe also tended to focus on bullying Marinette, but she didn't do these kinds of practical jokes. Usually, it was either sabotage (Mr. Pigeon, Despair Bear, Gabriel Agreste) or just general name calling, and she picked on other students too (Dark Cupid, Reflekta, Antibug, Sole Crusher, Penalteam, Deflagration).
The point I'm trying to make is why the hell did Chloe stop acting this way? What caused her to stop being as bad as she is here? I get the whole point of this episode is to show how terrible Chloe is, but you're showing off all her bad moments in a flashback and never considering the other things she's done that would be just as effective. Wasn't the main idea behind Chloe's “damnation arc” that she started to change, but went back on her ways and became worse than before? If that's the case, I have to reiterate, why was she even worse in this flashback?
I also have an issue with making the cause of all of Marinette's trauma because of this prank by Chloe. Yes, the prank was terrible, and trust me this isn't me once again going “GRR! CHLOE STAN ANGRY BECAUSE RICH GIRL IS EVIL IN FLASHBACK!”. It's more along the lines of “Really? We're really doing this?”. While I'm glad that after Chloe's betrayal at the end of Season 3, the show is finally considering the idea of making her more than just comic relief as a villain, it feels like a case of too little, too late.
After so many years of making Chloe out to be harmless unless she screams her daddy's name, now you're treating her like a serious threat who traumatized Marinette for life? Chloe is the cause of Marinette's trauma? This is like if the person who killed Bruce Wayne's parents turned out to be a joke character like Egghead or Crazy Quilt. Just because a serious villain does something important to the story, it doesn't automatically make their prior unfunny antics go away.
But my main gripe with the portrayal of Chloe here is that this flashback fails to do something that still hasn't been done in almost five seasons and eight years: Explain just why Chloe hates Marinette so much. Chloe is unusually cruel here, and doesn't even have a reason to torture Marinette like this. Usually, Marinette gets in the way of what she wants, but here? Marinette doesn't do anything to warrant this level of dedication. You would think for a flashback sequence focusing on her and Marinette's history, they would actually explain why Chloe likes to single out Marinette, but they don't. The writers would rather take time out of the episode to remind the audience of why Chloe is the way she is, and why it isn't acceptable, than clarify what Chloe's deal with Marinette is.
Rose: She’s this way because her mother left her when she was young.
Mylene: So did mine, and you don't see me having fun bullying Marinette.
Gee, I wonder if Astruc himself had a part in writing that exchange or not.
If you're willing to acknowledge previous episodes while also discussing how poorly Chloe treats Marinette, it would help if you finally did something to inform the audience about why Chloe likes to torture Marinette in the first place. Did Marinette show Chloe up at a fashion show? Did Marinette impress Chloe's dad one time? Did Marinette just spill coffee on Chloe's shoes? I will take literally anything, no matter how stupid the explanation is, over getting nothing after eight years.
It's also pretty rich that that scene was trying to say that what happened to Chloe doesn't justify her actions when not only do we never get a scene like that pointing out how creepy Marinette obsesing over Adrien was, but later in the episode, Marinette specifically pins all the blame on Chloe in one line.
Marinette: Adrien! I know what's wrong with me! It's not my fault, and it's not your fault, either! It's all Chloe's fault!
So remember kids, just because bad things happen to you, it doesn't excuse your unflattering actions... except when it does, and in that case, it's all the fault of the person who wronged you in the first place.
#2: The Portrayal of Kim
I'll admit, I'm not really the biggest fan of Kim as a character. I don't hate him, but it feels like after Season 2, he just became that guy who really loves to swim, where even characters like Max, Marc, and Nathaniel had more depth to them. This episode however? Yeah, I couldn't stand Kim here.
Just like with Chloe, Kim is sort of in character as the same eccentric dude who has a habit of being insensitive and accidentally upsetting people (Animan, Syren), and I need to emphasize the “sort of”. Just like Chloe, this goes against his characterization in Season 1, where he was shown to be a bully like Chloe was (Lady Wifi, Timetagger, Origins) before later episodes made him a nicer person. However, unlike Chloe, the show sort of tries to retcon Kim's rude behavior to be more in line with his Season 5 self by portraying him as more of a bully who simply isn't aware of how harmful his jokes are, but it doesn't work because of how cruel he seems, and he doesn't have the excuse of knowing how terrible he is like Chloe does.
There's also how easily he goes along with Chloe's prank when she literally insults him and Marinette to his face.
Chloe: I heard Marinette asked you to go with her to the swimming pool.
Kim: Yeah, we’re going swimming together. Cool! 'Cause I love to swim!
Chloe: That’s not why she asked you, dummy!
Kim: It's not? Then, what are we going to do? Chloe: She wants to declare her feelings for you! Kim: For me? But why?
Chloe: Probably because she's utterly ridiculous, and so are you, which makes you two perfect for each other!
Kim: Oh? You think so?
There's not being aware of how insensitive of how you are to others, and then there's not being able to comprehend basic insults. Chloe doesn't even try to give Kim a backhanded compliment or secretly insult him (“You really like swimming, don't you? Good thing you can swim better than you do in class.”). She just calls him a dummy, and Kim still falls for her trick. If you want to have Kim fall for Chloe's plan, don't make her so obviously cruel. For God's sake, you're making the class in the Lila episodes look smart by comparison.
And even after retelling the story, Kim still thinks Chloe highly, not only saying how pretty she is right in front of his girlfriend, but he still thinks the joke was the funniest thing ever. After five seasons, Kim of all people should know about how mean Chloe is, given he was literally kidnapped and brainwashed into serving her while she sided with Hawkmoth (Miracle Queen).
The worst part is that Kim has nothing to do with this story at all. You could literally replace him with any other guy, even a nameless background character with no lines, and nothing would change. Hell, I'd argue it'd be even better as having Marinette be embarrassed in front of some rando would highlight the impact it had on her self-esteem when she tries to go after someone of a higher social class. It would also better justify the spider prank if someone else pulled it because “Darkblade” established that Kim was afraid of spiders.
And if you think I'm talking about Kim after this part, believe me, there's more to this schmuck than meets the eye.
#3: The Way Everyone Just... Lets This All Happen
Look, I get what the episode is trying to go for, narratively, and realistically. Sometimes, teachers and other authority figures just don't do their jobs when someone gets bullied. Hell, I was bullied for years by someone who liked to take advantage of my anger issues, and it wasn't until my last year of middle school that the faculty finally decided to do something about it. I also get that this entire flashback wouldn't happen if the teachers realized how cruel Chloe was and got her expelled. What I don't get is how the flashback portrays anyone who was there as unwilling to do anything to help.
First off, Marinette claims that the reason none of the teachers believed her was because they're all too afraid to stand up to Chloe, since she can call her dad and cost them their jobs, but that's far from the truth. The only time we see anyone actually being afraid of Chloe was when Mr. Damocles went back on refusing to expel Socqueline before Chloe threatened to call her dad and get him fired. Other than that, while we only see Ms. Mendeleiev and Mr. Damocles in this flashback, neither of them really show any signs of being afraid of Chloe. They just go along with what she says, and they don't even try to take Marinette's side. Just like Kim, this would be more understandable if these were different characters who were never shown to be this cruel to Marinette in earlier episodes.
Second, while I can sort of buy the teachers not caring about Marinette, the fact that her classmates don't do anything is another story. We saw Mylene, Rose, and Juleka trying to help Marinette, but right after they talk to her, Chloe just orders them to go away, and it's never explained why. Marinette said the teachers were afraid of Chloe, but does that mean the students are too? Again, later episodes would establish nobody takes Chloe seriously as a bully, so this part of the flashback makes no sense. What changed to make them stop being afraid of Chloe anyway? Once again, if these were a bunch of nameless characters who were more apathetic to Marinette's situation, that would make sense, retroactively showing how much Marinette's friends care for her. Instead, it's like that scene in RWBY where the main characters watch a student being bullied by a racist classmate, and all they do is say “Wow, racism really sucks, huh? Anyway, not our problem.”
Third, you're telling me that Marinette came up with multiple excuses not to go to school even with a few weeks left in the year, and Marinette's parents didn't see anything weird about it? They didn't think that something must be making Marinette want to do anything but go to school? I don't think they were even informed about the situation at school, unless you want to be generous and say they knew Marinette got detention. You can't even make the excuse that it would work if these were different characters, but these are Marinette's parents. You know, the same characters the show portrays as loving and affectionate to their daughter? You're telling me they didn't even think to look into the situation, much less talk to Marinette about school?
The problem with all the other characters in this flashback is in order to make what happens possible, they have to be as apathetic as possible. There's being unaware of a situation or being too afraid to stand up (which is unfortunately something that happens when people bullied sometimes), and then there's just not caring about the bully victim at all. It's ironic how even though a big part of the flashback was to show how awful Chloe was, it unintentionally make everyone else in Marinette's life seem just as cruel to let her suffer like that.
But I know what you're thinking. “What about Socqueline? She was there to help Marinette, so why didn't you mention her?” Well...
#4: Where the Hell Has Socqueline Been All This Time?
Like I mentioned in my “Jubilation” review, Socqueline is yet another unnecessary addition to the already overcrowded cast of characters in this show, and it seemed like this episode was meant to justify her inclusion, but it only raised more questions.
Just to remind you, this flashback establishes that Marinette was constantly bullied by Chloe until a nice girl in glasses stood up for her, and inspired Marinette to be more confident.
SOUND FAMILIAR?
Tumblr media
Yeah, this flashback is pretty much the same as Marinette's arc in “Origins” was, only with Socqueline in Alya's place. We get it, writers, Season 1 was good. Constantly repeating stuff like what happened in “Mr. Pigeon 72” isn't going to win you any favors.
This really highlights how pointless of a character Socqueline is, as despite supposedly being a really important person in Marinette's life, Marinette herself never thought to tell anyone about her, and judging from how Marinette described her to Tikki in “Jubilation”, I don't think she even stayed in contact with Socqueline after she was expelled. It's not like left Paris afterwards. All we know is that she went to another school and got a job at a local arts and crafts store, so why did Marinette just stop talking with her? Even with Felix and Zoe, they had the excuse of being in different countries, but you can't say that with Socqueline.
Also, this was something I just realized, but if Mr. Damocles got her expelled, why the hell did Socqueline treat him like he was any other customer at her job, much less compliment him as a principal?
#5: The Handling of Trauma in General, and How This Impacts Marinette as a Character
Like pretty much every other serious issue it tries to tackle, Miraculous Ladybug has always had a poor understanding of mental health. When it comes to portraying characters who struggle with some form of grief of trauma, like Adrien, Felix, Chloe, Zoe, and even Marinette, the responses usually amount to some variation of “Grow a pair and get over it, you big baby!”.
With Felix, Chloe, and Marinette, even if their actions are partially motivated as a response to either losing a loved one, trying to emulate their neglectful parent, or as a defense mechanism to avoid repeating an already traumatic experience, they're all proven to be in the wrong, and it's not to teach a lesson about alternative coping mechanisms or support systems. The show just says that they're automatically wrong for what they do, what causes them to act the way they do is never acknowledged, and instead, we're supposed to just act like they're being jerks for no reason. Compare this to Adrien and Zoe, who both had rough lives losing their mother at a young age or living with an abusive mother respectively, and rather than go into detail how it affected them or how they managed to become decent human beings in spite of it, the show just says that they're nice people, so people like Felix, Chloe, and Marinette have no reason to be mean to others.
This is honestly why I feel like this episode's depiction of mental health and dealing with trauma falls flat. In case you didn't know, I asked my followers who had to deal with some form of trauma to share their experiences and how it compared to what Marinette went through in the episode. For the most part, the common consensus seems to be that while the symptoms of Marinette's trauma and her reactions to it are very believable, a lot of it is contradicted by previous episodes, and it seems like it was only there to do a story about dealing with trauma.
So many episodes across Seasons 1 through 4 show Marinette dealing with Kim and Chloe without really any issue, and she showed no problem with starting relationships with Luka and Cat Noir, to say nothing about Nathaniel's brief crush on her in “The Evillustrator”. If Marinette was so traumatized by this prank, why did she want to go swimming in episodes like “Gorizilla” and “Mr. Pigeon 72”? Why did she bother to help Kim confess to Chloe in “Dark Cupid”? Why did she team up with Chloe to sabotage Kagami in “Animaestro”? Why did she suggest Chloe could change for the better throughout Seasons 2 and 3? Why did she continue to let Chloe and Kim use the Bee and Monkey Miraculous respectively, even after they got them from outside sources? This flashback is desperately trying to tie previous events of the series together together, but it only works if you ignore all the times Marinette has interacted with Kim and Chloe without having a panic attack.
Then there's how the flashback tries to connect this to Marinette memorizing all of Adrien's schedule to make sure he won't hurt her, an obvious attempt to rebuff one of the biggest criticisms of her as a character. Here's why it doesn't work.
First off, the setup doesn't work because while Marinette vows to do a better job getting to know the next person she falls in love with and how, in her words mind you, “He isn't friends with Chloe”. Putting aside the kindness he's shown her in “Origins”, she kind of failed to really consider her choice to pursue him if he stayed friends with Chloe if we're going to believe Chloe traumatized Marinette so much.
It also doesn't really explain the more predatory actions Marinette has taken whenever another girl tries to get close to Adrien (The Bubbler, Volpina, Animaestro, Oni-Chan, Heart Hunter), or how she tries to rig up situations to get closer to him (The Gamer, Gigantitan, Backwarder, Party Crasher, Felix, Psycomedian, Glaciator 2, Simpleman). And that's not even getting into how obsessive she is with him in other areas, like repeatedly playing a commercial he was in (Gorizilla), making a bunch of presents for him in advance (Christmaster), trying to kiss a wax statue of him (The Puppeteer 2), sniffing his pillow (Cat Blanc), or all the other times she's creepily obsessed over him.
But of course, you've probably noticed that I've forgotten to mention one key thing about what this flashback means: You know how Marinette tends to act nervously and stumbles a lot around Adrien when she isn't meticulously documenting his schedule? Yeah, they were essentially panic attacks brought on by her PTSD, and the episode tries to act like Kim did to her wasn't funny afterwards. Here's the problem with this.
YOU MADE MARINETTE'S TRAUMA YOUR PRIMARY SOURCE OF COMEDY FOR THE PAST FIVE FUCKING SEASONS!
You do NOT have the right to act like what happened to Marinette was bad when you were constantly playing her anxiety up for laughs for almost EIGHT YEARS at this point!
In addition to all the other examples I mentioned, we had episodes like “Psycomedian”, which confirmed that the same behavior that this episode is trying to say is connected to her trauma was hilarious to Adrien, as well as “Backwarder”, which thrived on playing up Marinette's anxiety towards Adrien and was said to be one of the funniest episodes of the show to work on by Astruc himself.

THIS IS WHAT THOMAS ASTRUC ACTUALLY BELIEVES
#6: Why This Flashback Is Ultimately Pointless
But above all, the biggest problem I have with this flashback is because of how pointless it is. It's trying to better go into detail about why Marinette acts the way she does around Adrien, but did we really need to do that?
This flashback doesn't really reveal anything that we didn't know already. We know Marinette was bullied by Chloe, we know she was a lot more meek and needed others to stand up for her, and we definitely know that we're not supposed to like Chloe. Adding to my earlier point, if we actually got more insight into the origin of Chloe's obsession with Marinette, that would have at least made this flashback important to watch, but once again, despite being a flashback episode, we learn nothing about the characters that we don't already know.
But this flashback is also meant to explain why Marinette is so hesitant to embrace her new relationship with Adrien when we already got a reason for that last season. The first half of the season has made a big deal about how much her feelings for Adrien cost her the Miraculous, so why not focus on that? This flashback just feels like it's here to give more Marinette angst instead of focusing on the things they've already established. And that's not even getting into what she saw during “Cat Blanc”.
Why couldn't we just have a story about Marinette's own insecurities causing her to doubt she can make her relationship with Adrien work, seeing how poorly things ended with Luka? Have her worry that something could go wrong as a result of her need to overcompensate, or worry that Adrien could betray her. That way, you could have Adrien supporting Marinette in a way that reflects their partnership as Cat Noir and Ladybug respectively.
But no. Instead we have this flashback that's taken me about ten pages to fully dissect. And the worst part is that I still have the rest of the episode to talk about. God help me...
So after Adrien and Ondine explain how this prank could have done a lot of damage to Marinette's psyche, Kim decides to find Marinette, and apologize for being so—Ah, I'm just messing with you guys. After all, that would actually make Kim likable. So what does he say instead?
Kim: Come on! Loosen up, you guys! It's like you can't even speak your mind these days.
Ondine: That doesn't give you permission to hurt other people!
Kim: Whatever! I'm the way I am and I'm fine that way! It's not my fault you guys have no sense of humor!
Yep, rather than having Kim realize the error of his ways and maybe be akumatized out of guilt, Kim just whines about how everyone else is just a humorless pansy these days. The writers pretty much made Kim's motivation boil down to “It's just a prank, bro!”. Even Monarch seems to go along with this, as he refers to Kim as “A free spirit feeling unjustly rejected”, when this was right after he called Chloe the prettiest girl in front of his own girlfriend's face. So Monarch sends his Akuma to Kim's goggles, akumatizing him into Dark Humor. Yes, that's really the name they're going with.
Tumblr media
Dark Humor is a pretty forgettable recolor of Dark Cupid. Other than inverting the red and black color scheme and giving him a targeting scope on his right eye, there's not much else to say other than the incredibly on the nose name they gave him. His powers are sort of like Dark Cupid's, only now, instead of turning people heartless, they now share his soulless brand of “humor”. At least, I think it is. His Alliance power is the Monkey Miraculous's Uproar, but it's not really clarified if he's only using Uproar arrows or not, judging from the use of the rubber ducky that we've seen King Monkey use before.
Marinette and Adrien transform into Ladybug and Cat Noir respectively, but once they meet up, we get the most controversial part of the episode that isn't connected to the flashback scene: Cat Noir gives Dark Humor the beatdown of his life and is about to Cataclysm him, for pulling a bad prank on Marinette a year ago. Yeah, a lot of people have pointed out that Adrien felt a lot of remorse for Cataclysming Monarch earlier in this season, yet here, Cat Noir looks like someone told him that Kim just shot the Pope. For God's sake, writers, you're five seasons in! How hard is it to determine whether or not you want your hero to be okay with killing people or not?
And of course, this bites him in the ass, as Dark Humor stabs Cat Noir with an arrow, not only changing his Cataclysm into something that creates a bunch of balls from his hand, but also making him just as insane as the rest of Dark Humor's victims. You know, I'm this close to starting a “Remember Season 1” counter, because this is just glorified fanservice.
Ladybug tries to summon her Lucky Charm, but is stopped by Dark Humor, so Ladybug transforms back into Marinette, transforms into Ladybug again, and summons her Lucky Charm for real this time, getting... a toilet. Of course, the only way to combat Dark Humor's bad jokes is by using even worse jokes! Genius! Ladybug places the toilet over Dark Humor's head and breaks it along with the goggles, freeing the Akuma.
Ladybug de-evilizes the Akuma, uses Miraculous Ladybug to fix the damage, gives Kim a useless Magical Charm, and Cat Noir apologizes for murdering Kim by saying his emotions got the better of him, which is like saying OJ Simpson and his wife had a minor disagreement.
Kim apologizes to Marinette for traumatizing her, and I guess that's enough for Ondine to forgive him for saying another girl is prettier than her.
After Marinette sort of explains what happened to Adrien, he goes over to tell Chloe to apologize, and we get... this scene.
Adrien: I know about everything that you did to Marinette last year, Chloe. You're going to go and apologize to her and prove to everyone that you can change. I'm sure she'll forgive you.
Chloe: (laughs) Forgive me? What do I care about her forgiveness? I couldn't care less about Dupain-Cheng's feelings! She and the likes of her only exist to suffer for my entertainment. Why bother having power if you can’t use it against those who don’t have any? You’re the one who’s getting things wrong, with your baker girl! You’re a prince! You belong with me, the princess! You’re in this world to shine! To make fun of all the losers who are only good enough to be used as doormats!
Adrien: You're nothing like a princess, Chloe. I supported you. I gave you multiple chances to become a better person. Everyone reached out to you, including Ladybug and Cat Noir when they gave you the Miraculous of the Bee again. But all you ever think about is yourself.
Chloe: And what else IS there to think about? Losers and nobodies? The little bees? The planet?
Adrien: We will never be friends again, Chloe. You and I are done.
Chloe: Traitor.
Okay, first off, “She and the likes of her only exist to suffer for my entertainment.”? That's the line you're going with? She sounds like a dark lord in an RPG game. How is this the closest thing we ever get to an explanation to why Chloe hates Marinette so much?
Second, ignoring the fact that we already had Chloe end her friendship with Adrien last season (Queen Banana), it's pretty weird that this is the breaking point in their friendship. Adrien doesn't mention all the other times she's bullied people or when she sided with Hawkmoth even when he brought up her time as Queen Bee. He saw her being mean to so many people over five seasons, yet only when he learns Chloe did something to his girlfriend that he decides to finally confront her. If we at least got a line where Adrien acknowledged that he essentially enabled Chloe for so long by thinking she could change, that would have at least sort of worked. Instead, he makes it about how she refused to change herself. Dude, you had the chance to stand up to her for years, and you even did so in one episode before you went back on it (Despair Bear). You have nobody to blame but yourself.
Finally, Chloe is pretty out of character here. She's way too calm about ending her friendship with Adrien compared to what happened in “Despair Bear” and “Queen Banana”. You'd think if the writers wanted this to be a big moment of catharsis for the audience, Chloe would at least beg Adrien to stay a little. But no, Chloe brushes it off when it could easily justify her getting worse in later episodes, and even Adrien doesn't even consider how much he thought Chloe's friendship meant to him. Because these writers are dedicated to making sure that any identifiable trait Chloe once had is removed so you have no choice but to hate her.
But hey, at least the episode's over. What did I think of it?
youtube
Yeah, it wasn't very good.
I just... what else do you even want me to say here? I spent about ten pages going over why the flashback sequence doesn't work, I've already ranted about Cat Noir trying to kill someone with his Cataclysm in previous episodes (Hack-San, Jubilation), and I think you all know what my feelings on the portrayal of Chloe and Kim are.
I guess I can answer one question you may have: Is this episode worse than either “Penalteam” or “Queen Banana”? Eh, not really. Let me explain.
The problems with “Queen Banana” and “Penalteam” went beyond the treatment of Chloe with the way the stories were handled, with “Queen Banana” being a cheap jab at critics and TV executives while propping up their new character Zoe, and “Penalteam” being an excuse to have a soccer episode while making Cat Noir look like a buffoon right before the finale. Most of the problems with this episode have more to do with how they affect the way we see previous episodes, and why some scenes that were already unfunny are even less funny now.
With this episode, you can at least tell there was some effort being made to tell a more serious story here that went into what made Marinette tick. Yeah, it and the themes of mental health and trauma were handled about as gracefully as a ballet dancer trying to get a bear trap off their leg, but there's at least an attempt here.
Of course, this episode is still awful. The conflict with Kim not getting how much of a jerk he was after a year was dumb (as was him being even more of a jerk as Dark Humor), the fact that Marinette's trauma seemed to come and go when the plot needed it to really showed off how forced it is, and it only ends with you having more questions about Marinette and Chloe's rivalry rather than answering them.
While I'm still not a fan of this episode, and would still place it in my top five least favorites, I don't think it's the absolute worst. Although it's still the worst one so far this season from a technical standpoint.
THE BIGGEST IDIOT OF THE EPISODE IS...KIM
Tumblr media
It says a lot when Cat Noir actually tried to murder someone in this episode, yet not only is he not even considered for the award this episode, the person he tried to kill ends up being the bigger idiot. Not only did he easily fall for Chloe's plan when she insulted him to his face, he failed to understand how it affected Marinette for a year, and when he was told about how bad it was, he refused to take responsibility for his actions, blamed it on other people not being able to take a joke, and only gave the smallest apology after he was almost killed for his attitude. It's honestly funny how he somehow comes across as more unlikable than Chloe, the character this episode was made to make you hate even more.

Summary: You stumble upon a nice little cinema in the city you have just moved to and you meet an even nicer boy, there.
_____________________________________
You didn't do that on purpose.
Absolutely not.
But, as you would soon learn, in life you should always prepare for trouble and only hope for it not to become double.
It was safe to say, though, that this time you had fucked up big time.
You had met him at your local cinema.
You had just moved to a new town alone and you had started to explore your surroundings, trying to find some interesting things to do, when you had stumbled upon a nice little cinema, just at the corner of your neighborhood.
You almost hadn't noticed it at first because it was mid afternoon on a Wednesday and it was closed.
The building looked absolutely anonymous but, as you lifted your gaze to the darkening clouds swirling in the sky, promising a storm soon, you spotted a faded unlit white and red sign saying "Cinema" and nothing more.
You made a mental note to try it on Saturday night, though.
You loved going to the cinema, so having one so close was making you feel a little less like a fish out of the water in a town you didn't know well.
Saturday evening came quickly.
You got ready and made your way to the building, finding the sign lit and a small queue of people just outside the door, which was still closed.
You learned that every Saturday evening they showed old movies. That night they were showing "To Catch a Thief", one of your favorite ever.
You waited in line and about ten minutes later you heard the sound of keys giggling and the door finally opened.
People slowly started to move inside and soon you were standing in front of the ticket booth.
The cinema from the inside looked old-fashioned but the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The first thing you noticed upon entering was the salty buttery smell of fresh popcorn that brought you back to when you used to go to the cinema every Sunday afternoon with your parents.
A little sense of nostalgia about your childhood invaded you and you started to get lost into your head.
You were quickly brought out of your tangled thoughts by a voice, nice and crystal clear.
"Good evening, love. What can I do for you?"
The voice belonged to a boy about your age with curly hair and buzzed sides, a perfect heartstopping smile and the most sparkly brown eyes you had ever seen.
You were at a loss of words.
Your expression must have been incredibly funny because he giggled and repeated himself, his smile deepening even more, making a tiny dimple appear on his left cheek.
It was even worse.
He had the cutest giggle you had ever heard.
You had to bite the inside of your cheek to prevent yourself from getting lost into your head again.
You blushed furiously and averted your eyes from his face, starting to stumble over your words making him giggle again, sweetly.
"Uh…I-I…" you tried to say but your brain didn't intend to cooperate.
You were making a fool of yourself and blocking the line. You heard people behind you starting to complain and you shook your head to finslly get a grip on yourself.
"Uh… a ticket please" you managed to say without looking at him and rummaging inside your purse for your wallet.
"It's 10$" he said, still smiling and as you handed him the money, your fingertips touched his and you felt a little jolt of electricity.
His fingers were warm and soft.
When he handed you the ticket he also slid a little chocolate bar your way.
When you frowned, he spoke.
"It's on the me, don't worry" he said gently and you blushed even more, thanking him in a sliver of voice and scurrying away absolutely embarrassed.
You kept scolding yourself for looking like an idiot in front of everyone.
When you entered the cinema room, you felt a nice warm feeling spread in your chest and again you remembered how much you loved and you missed cinemas.
The room brought you fifteen years back.
The cherry wood of the walls and the low golden lights made you feel at home.
The red velvet seats were incredibly soft to the touch and looked absolutely comfortable and well-kept.
The floor was covered in a dark grey carpeting that muffled your steps.
Like an enthusiastic child, you slowly made your way down the central corridor tracing your fingers dreamily against the side of the seats and scanning the room for the perfect spot.
Once you found it, you pulled down the seat and sat down on the soft cushion.
You started rummaging inside your purse for your phone and found the little chocolate bar the ticket-boy had gifted you and your stomach rumbled.
You had already had dinner so you weren't hungry. But you always had a sweet tooth so you couldn't resist.
You unwrapped the chocolate and took a bite.
Your eyes scanned the room slowly as you let the chocolate melt on your tongue. Inevitably your mind kept conjuring up images of the boy that had made your brain go blank and you mentally slapped yourself again for the terrible first impression you made.
Suddenly, the light faded out and the white screen came to life, making you momentarily forget about the cute boy and your clumsiness.
You lost yourself in the images.
Grace Kelly's dresses were a dream and Cary Grant was absolutely stunning. You were transported back in time by Hitchcock's virtuosity.
Before you knew it, the end credits were rolling slowly onto the screen and the light were turned on again.
People started to exit the room quietly and you stood to follow them.
You were the last one to exit.
The boy wasn't behind the register now, but he had a broom and was carefully sweeping the floor near the exit door.
He lifted his eyes from the ground as you approached the door and was quick to grab the door handle and open the door for you, like Cary Grant had done in the movie, you noticed.
Such a gentleman, you thought, a delicate blush covered your cheeks and his at the same time.
You thanked him. As you stood there ready to go home, he let go of the broom, leaning it against the wall and offered you his hand.
"I'm Josh," he said with that same big smile and bright eyes as before.
You reciprocated the greeting and introduced yourself too, shaking his hand.
He repeated your name slowly, rolling every letter on his tongue and you found yourself staring at his full lips moving.
He kept your hand in his for a second longer than what was considered usual and you couldn't help but notice his warmth and softness, compared to your icy skin.
You both blushed as you shook hands and let go, awkwardly standing one in front of the other in silence
"Well, I really have to go now," you said to break the silence.
"Good night, Josh" you added with a small smile and you saw his eyes twinkling upon hearing his name rolling off your tongue.
He wished you good night, too, as you exited and slowly started to make your way back towards your flat.
When you crossed the road, you couldn't help but turn around and look towards the building.
A warm smile spread on your lips before you could stop yourself when you saw that he was already looking at you from behind the cinema glassdoor.
As you caught him staring, he swiftly hid behind the wall but showed up again seconds later with a guilty grin and a hand rubbing the back of his neck, a bit embarassed.
God he is so sweet, you thought and blushed under his gaze despite being so far away from him.
He waved at you and you reciprocated, feeling something stir in your belly, like a hundred butterflies spreading their fluttering multicolored wings.
That night you couldn't fall asleep for hours and when, finally, sleep graced you, your dreams were haunted by beautiful brown eyes and contagious smiles.
You woke up with a jolt to the sound of your alarm clock. You cursed it because it had interrupted the sweetest dream you had ever had.
Of course you were dreaming of Josh.
You were afraid that you were starting to develop the biggest crush on that little cinema guy.
By the end of the week, you were sure you were madly in love with him.
You couldn't go five minutes without thinking about him and you hated yourself for that.
You didn't even know him, how could you feel that way for him already?
On Saturday evening you decided that you needed to see him again, the thought of his smile was more or less the only thing keeping you from saying to hell with everything. The week at work had been absolutely draining so you really needed a breath of fresh air.
And, of course, the cinema was the first thing that came to your mind.
This time they were showing "Pulp Fiction". You had already seen it millions of times but you didn't mind as long as you could see him again.
There were more people waiting outside than the last time.
When you entered, you saw him there, tearing tickets and serving popcorn and beverage to customers, expertedly.
Your heart started beating wildly as you waited for your turn.
Finally, you were in front of him again.
When he saw you, you were graced with that heartstopping smile that your brain had replayed hundreds of times in your dreams.
He greeted you using your name in his usual sweet tone and you tried not to swoon in front of him.
"How are you tonight? Ready for some Tarantino?" He asked playfully and you nodded, unable to control your smile.
"Yes, I am. I've seen it many times but never in a cinema, actually" you confessed as he gave you your ticket and change.
"Oh, it's way better on the big screen, trust me" he said and winked as he handed you the little bag of popcorn you had ordered.
You blushed at the gesture and entered the cinema room.
You chose your usual spot and you started eating popcorn waiting for the movie to start.
The film was almost finished when you reached the bottom of the popcorn box, feeling the little grains of salt under your fingertips.
And something else too.
There was something inside.
You took the item between your fingers and brought it out of the box. Thanks to the light coming from the screen you saw what it was.
It was the same chocolate bar that he had offered you the first time you met. But it wasn't alone. It was attached to a little strip of paper folded on itself.
You detached the chocolate from the paper and unfolded it.
Despite the darkness, you could see what had been handwritten inside.
"This is to make it up to you for last Saturday night. I should have at least offered to walk you home. I shouldn't have let you go out alone at night. I am so sorry. I would have never forgiven myself if something had happened to you. I hope this doesn't come off as rude or creepy but here's my number, don't hesitate to text me when you get home safe or whenever you want to know what films we are showing.
P.S. Please, ignore this if I am overstepping.
Josh :)
You blushed instantly and unconsciously brought the paper close to your heart as you felt butterflies go crazy in your stomach.
Nobody had ever been so thoughtful with you.
You couldn't stop smiling and, as the credits started to roll on the screen and the light switched on again, you stood and walked out of the room to see if he was there.
You wanted to thank him for his kind gesture, but once you were in the hall, he was nowhere to be seen.
An old man with round glasses and kind eyes was sweeping the floor, exactly like Josh had been last Saturday.
You were a bit disappointed.
You wished him goodnight and walked home.
Once you arrived home, you decided to text that number anyway.
With trembling fingers you typed a brief message.
Hi, Josh. I found your message inside the box. Thank you for your kindness. I have just gotten home safe. Please, feel free to text me the scheduled films every week, thank you.
P.S. You were right! The film was so much better on the big screen!
Goodnight.
You signed the message and before you could start mulling over it and overthinking, you sent it.
A few minutes later, your phone vibrated on your nightstand.
I am glad you got home safe and you enjoyed the film.
Sweet dreams!
Josh.
You felt again those damn wings flutter in your chest. You read the message hearing his voice in your ears and you blushed even though nobody could see you.
You were already smitten with him.
That night you dreamt about him again.
~
It started like that.
Every Thursday he texted you the scheduled movies and every Saturday night you texted him when you got home safe.
He was always so sweet every time you saw him and every time you fell a little more in love with him.
Every Saturday night he kept offering you the same chocolate bar, hiding it inside your popcorn box together with a little slip of paper where he wrote little anecdotes about the movie you were watching.
He told you he was a film nerd, but you were honestly impressed by the extent of his knowledge.
One Saturday evening, the weather looked awful but, after a long week at work, you didn't really feel like staying at home. And you needed to see him, his smile was more or less the only thing that helped you keep your sanity.
You had spent the entire afternoon baking a cake for him, to thank him for all the times he had offered you a chocolate bar and shared his precious knowledge with you.
You had opted for a chocolate fudge cake, since he gave you major chocolate vibes.
Dark, sweet and captivating. The website described the recipe with those three words and they made you think about him, immediately.
The recipe wasn't exactly easy, so you spent all afternoon mixing and stirring ingredients and then wiping and cleaning the kitchen.
Once the cake was in the oven, you showered and started to get ready to go out.
You had been so busy that you didn't even heard your phone vibrate with a message and then a phone call.
When everything was ready, you placed the cake in a box and exited your apartment.
The sky was dark. The clouds swirling fast and looking menacing and an intermittent rumble of thunder could be heard in the distance.
You grabbed an umbrella and walked to the cinema.
Once you arrived there, though, you were very surprised to find the sign unlit and the doors closed.
You checked the time on your watch and noticed that the cinema was usually open at that hour.
You knocked but the lights inside were off.
You started to worry that something had happened to him
You knocked again, just before a loud thunder shook the glassdoor.
You flinched at the loud noise but your heart flooded with relief as the lights inside switched on and you saw Josh make his way towards you with keys in his hand.
His smile was a little surprised but beaming as always.
"Hi, darling, what are you doing here? The storm is about to hit" he greeted you and said, looking up at the darkening sky.
"You didn't read my text, did you?" He added then, still smiling, at your confused expression.
You panicked and started rummaging through your bag for your phone.
"Hey, hey, calm down, it's ok!" He said placing a warm hand on your arm. "I texted you to tell you that tonight the cinema was closed due to the incoming storm. I even called you but after one call I didn't insist because I thought you were out with somebody and I didn't want to bother you." He said sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck and smiling, a little embarrassed. His cheeks pinkened slightly.
"Oh, I am so sorry Josh, I spent the entire afternoon baking this cake and I didn’t look at my phone." You started rambling, then added in a sliver of voice, "this is for you, for your kindness and sweetness"
You handed him the box as you started to back away from the door.
"Hey, darling, please don't go. Stay. I am really happy to see you. I don't want you to go away and…" he stopped for a second before continuing, casting his eyes down to the pavement.
"And I don't really feel like staying here alone working during a storm, so please stay" he said quickly, his cheeks pinkening even more.
"You can even choose the film tonight, it will be a private screening" he added and winked, playfully.
You blushed at his sweet request and after a few seconds you agreed. In reality, you had decided straight away to stay, but you didn't want him to believe you were too desperate.
His smile beamed even more when you accepted and he motioned for you to take his arm.
Then he closed the door behind you and escorted you inside like a gentleman, thanking you profusely for the cake.
You were really afraid he could hear your heart beating wildly in your chest at the thought of spending the evening alone with him.
He started leading you to a part of the cinema that was restricted to the public.
He opened a door, flicked on the lights and motioned for you to enter.
At that moment, you understood that he had taken you to the very screening room. You had never been inside one and you were mesmerized by everything you saw there.
You gasped and he chuckled.
"Here's were the magic happens" he said while spreading his arms wide.
You started to take a look around but you were interrupted by his voice as he placed the cakebox on the table and opened it.
"Wow, love! This cake looks delicious! How did you know chocolate is one of my favourite things in the world?" He asked, his eyes glittering with happiness.
"I just guessed" you answered sheepishly, blushing at his compliment.
He looked at you with a strange light in his eyes but the moment was interrupted by a loud thunder that shook the whole building.
You both flinched at the loud sound.
"Now, I really have to sort these new films that arrived today. But you can do as you were at home, you can choose the movie you want to see and I'll set it up for you while you get comfortable on the seats downstairs." He explained.
He pointed to a staircase that lead to the cinema room downstairs.
"Are you sure you don't need a hand with those films? I can help you so we can sort it out quickly and watch the movie together." You asked tentatively. You really didn't want to watch the movie alone while he worked.
It didn't seem right to you.
"Well, I don't really want you to work on Saturday night, really. I can do it myself, it won't take much time. Thank you, darling, but you just have to choose the movie and relax" he said sweetly, motioning you towards a closet full of rolls of film.
He left you there and you started to take a look around among all those movies.
This was honestly one of your dreams coming true.
You always loved movies and you always wanted to know what happened behind the door of the screening room.
You felt giddy being in such a special place.
Your eyes landed almost immediately on one of your favorites of all the times.
Your friends and family mocked you because whenever there was a movie to choose, you always picked that one, without even caring about how many times you had seen it.
"The Shining" was written in bold red lettering on one side of a roll on the bottom of the closet.
You picked it gently, trying not to make the others fall to the ground.
You assessed the weight of the film between your hands and you felt like a little girl with her favorite toy.
You turned around and he lifted his gaze from one of the boxes of new films.
He spotted the title immediately and bit his lip with a beautiful smile.
You heard him mumble something low under his breath but you caught it anyway.
"God, you are perfect" he whispered before catching himself and giggling, noticing that you had heard him.
You blushed and so did he.
You really didn't want to watch the movie without him so you told him and offered again to help him.
"I'd love to see this, but only if you let me help you with those boxes first, I really mean it, Josh" you said and you saw as he mulled over your offer.
You knew he had refused your help only because he was a gentleman and didn't want to make you work on a Saturday.
You also knew that four hands were better that two, so you really wanted to convince him.
"You don't want to end up like Jack, do you?" You said tauntingly, referring to the main character of the movie.
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, remember?" You continued and you saw his smile beaming again at your reference.
"All right, you sold me, darling," he said chuckling "I could really need some help. Plus, it's been a lot since I last watched that masterpiece, I'd love to see it again with you with the cinema all to ourselves. But only if you promise me that, after, you'll eat that cake with me" he added, pointing a finger at you.
"Ok, now tell me, what do we have to do?" You asked him, curiously.
"We have to classify these rolls briefly and then order them alphabetically on that shelf" he explained and you sat next to him, ready to work.
In less than an hour, you had finished and, meanwhile, the storm seemed to have passed. An occasional rumble of thunder could be heard far away.
He started thanking you profusely but you quickly interrupted him saying that that wasn't that big of a deal.
In reality, the truth was that you had loved spending some time alone with him. His presence was absolutely captivating and his eyes beaming while he told you every little thing he knew about those films. You could have listened to him talk for hours and hours nonstop about his passion.
"Now we can finally relax" he said, gently taking the roll you had previously chosen and starting the various machines that occupied one side of the room.
You watched mesmerized as he made quick work of operating the projector and you gasped when you saw the first images light up the screen in the cinema room from the little window in front of you.
He winked at you and you tried so hard not to swoon you had to bite your tongue.
"Here we go, love, let's go search for the best seats," he said, grabbing the cake box and guiding you down the stairs with a warm hand on your back.
You felt the butterflies go crazy in your stomach again at that simple touch.
He guided you to the center of the seats and motioned for you to choose.
You sat down in the same place you always chose and he sat down next to you placing the box on the seat next to him.
As the opening credits started to roll on the screen, he came closer to whisper into your ear.
"Wait here, I'll just go get two forks for the cake and I'll be right back" he said, his warm breath hitting your neck, making goosebumps raise onto your skin.
A few minutes later, he came back with two forks and two cans of coke. He settled them on the floor next to you.
As you thanked him, he opened the cake box and handed it to you, along with a fork so you could take the first bite.
"No, Josh, the cake is yours, you have to take the first bite. I really hope you like it" you said.
Worry started to creep up on you. You were mentally retracing the recipe steps for the millionth time to check if you had forgotten something.
You watched with bated breath as he sank the fork into the soft cake and brought a bite to his mouth.
He started chewing slowly and moaned in pleasure at the enveloping taste of the cake.
"Good Heavens, this is delicious, love. You are the queen of chocolate cakes." He said still chewing and looking at you, amazed.
You sighed in relief and watched mesmerized as his jaw clenched and unclenched with every bite he took.
You were quickly brought out of your reverie when he motioned for you to get a taste, too.
You had to admit that it was really good, and the perfect treat for a movie night with him.
As you ate and watched the movie, every once in a while he moved closer to whisper little anecdotes about the movie into your ear.
You usually hated when people disturbed you during a movie, but, with him, it was different.
His voice was so soothing and soft that you didn't want him to stop. You would have spent the entire night just listening to him talk about anything and everything.
After some time, you heard a sudden loud thunder and, all of a sudden, everything was dark around you.
"Oh, fuck" you heard him groan as you rummaged through your bag to get your phone and turn on the flashlight.
Its white light illuminated the room casting a spectral glow on everything.
"I can't believe it" he said again, dragging a hand on his face.
Another crash of thunder shook the building.
Then he started giggling. And you couldn't help but mirror him.
"Ok, I think that the storm decided that we shouldn't see anything tonight." He scoffed and you giggled, helpless.
Silence encompassed the room, then. The only sounds you could hear were his regular breathing and the harsh wind outside.
Suddenly he stood up with a new idea.
"Ok listen, I am pretty sure there are some candles under the stage. A few years ago this was a theatre, so there are a lot of scenery in the storage closet" he said with a hopeful look into his eyes.
"Let's go, lead the way" you said and stood up next to him.
You followed him through a door and down some narrow steps that led behind the white screen.
You almost fell on the floor because everything was extremely dark despite your flashlight.
He caught you before you could smash yourself to the ground and grasped one of your hands in his to keep you from falling again.
His skin was so soft and warm that you felt a little shock of electricity at the contact.
He guided you down the corridor and stopped in front of a door. He unlocked it and entered, bringing you with him.
The room was packed with all kinds of handpainted scenery.
He spotted the box of tealights and matches next to the very door and grabbed it. He handed it to you and grabbed what looked like a big pile of velvet fabric that was on a table.
"What is that?" You asked and he snickered.
"Those are the old velvet curtains of the theater. In case we get cold" he said and you laughed
"That's creative" you said and he chuckled.
"Let's go back, it's too dark in here" he said in a spooky voice.
"That sounds like a last line before getting killed by the monster in a horror movie" you whispered and he giggled.
Once you were back into the main cinema room you started placing tealights all around you and slowly the room was immersed in the golden light of many tiny flames.
You both decided to move to the first row of seats, right in front of the stage, so there was more light.
You sat down next to him again and you both listened in silence to the storm raging outside.
Then he turned towards you and spoke.
"I am glad you are here but I am sorry that you are stuck with me instead of being in the comfort of your house. '' He said sheepishly.
"I am happy to be here with you and not alone at home, honestly" you answered him, turning towards him, too.
His flawless skin was glowing golden in the feeble light of the candles and his eyes were the same shade as the chocolate cake that lied abandoned on the floor.
You lost yourself inside them.
He had the innate capacity of drawing you in, like a magnet.
You couldn't control yourself and, honestly, you didn't want to.
Before you knew it, his lips were pressing against yours, hot, soft and so gentle.
You felt your head spin as your heart melted from that simple kiss alone.
You were shocked when he pulled away and he must have seen it in your expression because he immediately started apologizing.
But you didn't hear a single word.
Your mind froze in the exact moment his lips parted from yours, depriving you from their warmth.
There was only one thought occupying your mind.
Him.
Without thinking, your hands snaked on the back of his neck and you dragged him towards you again, pressing your lips against his and successfully interrupting his ramblings.
You felt something under your fingertips and smiled in the kiss as you understood that the hair at the nape of his neck had been braided in a little rat tail.
He placed one of his hands on your hip and a little groan escaped his lips as his fingers came in contact with your skin, left bare by your shirt riding slightly upwards.
He squeezed your hip and you whimpered into his mouth, parting your lips and allowing him to deepen the kiss.
When his warm tongue caressed your bottom lip, something into your brain snapped.
Without further thinking you climbed on his lap and lost yourself in the kiss that turned every second more heated.
Both his hands came to rest against your cheeks and the sound of smacking lips filled the room making your head hazy.
He parted from you then and chuckled at the whine that left your mouth.
You couldn't tear your eyes away from his perfect plump lips, glistening in the golden light of the candle.
Both your breaths were ragged, your faces flushed but you couldn't care less.
You started kissing again and this time his hands started to roam your body, quickly slipping under your clothes.
As his hands slowly traced your back and moved to your front, inching towards your breasts, you stopped him biting his lip lightly. You grasped his rattail and tugged at it, making his head tilt back with a low groan.
That sound went straight to your core and you knew there was no going back.
You needed to have him.
"Fuck, love. I can't get enough of you" he confessed against your lips and you shivered at the low register of his voice.
He kissed you again and started fumbling with the hem of your shirt.
"May I take this off?" He asked gently and you nodded quickly.
He took off your shirt and you shivered, feeling exposed in front of him.
He gently grabbed your arms with which you tried to cover yourself and caressed them, taking them slowly away from your body to admire you with care.
You had a very simple bralette on, but he was looking at you like you were wearing the most expensive Italian lace lingerie he had ever seen.
You blushed but he was quick to comfort you.
"Has anybody ever told you how beautiful you are?" He asked and you bit your bottom lip before crashing your mouth against his, his tongue soothing your need.
Your hands gripped the hem of his tshirt and you pulled it upwards, admiring him as he took the hint and slipped it off with a smug smirk.
He was astonishing, the perfect tanned skin of his chest was glowing against the deep red velvet of the seat he was sitting on.
You started kissing his neck nibbling at his skin and reveling in the little whiny breathy sounds escaping his reddened lips.
His fingers traced your spine, making you shiver, and they slowly inched towards the button of your jeans.
His expression was tentative when he looked at you, silently asking your permission to remove them.
You nodded and he winked before slowly unbuttoning them.
With some effort and chuckles, you managed to take them off with his help.
When you sat back down in his lap, he was quick to place his hands on your bare thighs, kneading the skin gently.
You never felt like that before.
As you sat there almost naked, a deep hunger overcame you, observing him taking in every little detail of your body.
Suddenly his lips were pressing featherlight kisses along your shoulders, where the straps of your bra sat against your flushed skin.
One of them slid down your arm and you shivered.
He kissed you again and his lips started a path down your throat and down the center of your chest.
"Josh" you heard yourself whisper as his fingers traced the other strap making it fall, too.
"Tell me, love" he whispered back, leaving open mouthed kisses on your neck.
"I need you, please" you whispered down to him, like a secret, even though nobody was there to hear.
"You want me to take this off?" He asked, tracing the hem of your bralette with his pointer finger.
You nodded and he smiled sweetly giving you what you needed.
He took his sweet time admiring you then, making you blush as you sat almost entirely naked in front of him.
He looked in awe, his eyes sparkled as he looked at you.
Then, his lips encompassed one of your nipples while his hands grabbed your hips and pushed you further against him.
You groaned as you felt his erection press against your core.
You started grinding against him and his breathing picked up as his mouth kept spoiling your chest, nibbling and sucking.
After a while, though, his hands stilled your hips completely.
"Baby, you should really stop this, or soon it will be game over for me" he smiled, out of breath and a little embarrassed.
You smiled at him and blushed, apologizing.
His hands on your hips gently pushed you upwards making you raise on your knees, still on his lap.
You rested your hands on his shoulders as he started placing a trail of kisses down your tummy and towards your lower abdomen.
When he reached the hem of your panties, he looked upwards and you forgot how to breath.
His eyes were wide like a deer in the headlights, pupils blown out, making the soft shade of brown disappear completely. His breathing was ragged and you shivered as it hit the damp trail that his lips had left on your tummy.
What he did next made your soul leave your body.
A little smirk appeared onto his lips as he took the little bow that sat at the center of the hem of your panties between his teeth and tugged at it before letting it snap back against you.
You whimpered and he chuckled. Then his mouth moved downwards, placing gentle hot kisses on your still covered mound.
"You want me to kiss you here, don't you?" He whispered looking up at you for permission and caressing your slit through the fabric with gentle fingers.
"Please, Josh, yes" You begged him and you shivered as his thumbs hooked on the sides of your underwear, pulling it slowly down your legs.
He groaned at the sight of the wet fabric parting from you and you shivered as the cool air of the room hit your flushed skin, squeezing your eyes shut.
"Hey, love, look at me, please" he whispered and you lowered your gaze.
He kept a steady eye contact as he slid down the seat just enough for his mouth to reach your center comfortably.
Both your hands were gripping the velvet seat behind his head, but when his mouth was close enough to your core that you could feel his warm breath hitting your wet skin, one snaked into his curls, gripping them tightly.
That simple gesture spurred him on and in a second his mouth was on you, his tongue lapping up and down your slit, parting your lower lips and making your breath stop in your throat.
You were holding onto his hair so hard you were afraid that you were hurting him.
Little breathy sounds escaped his lips as he ate you out at the perfect pace.
You felt his fingers slowly reaching between your legs and you stiffled a moan.
"Baby, let me hear you, nobody is here, you are safe" he whispered onto your skin and next thing you knew his name was echoing in the room alongside thunders as you slowly started to unravel.
He slid a finger inside slowly and started stroking your clit with the tip of his tongue in quick circles.
You shivered.
You were close.
"Josh" you gasped as he added another finger and curled them harshly, making you almost double over him.
Before you knew it, you were coming undone on top of him, clawing at his shoulder and his curls.
He parted from you slowly and you bit your lip at the sight of his lips and chin glistening with your arousal and his puppy eyes looking up at you wide and in awe.
"You did so good" he said against your lips before kissing you deeply.
Your hands reached quickly for his belt and you unbuckled it.
He groaned as your fingers pressed against his crotch while you were trying to free him.
When he was finally free from the confines of the fabric, you gasped.
He was beautiful, girthy and veiny. It made your mouth water.
You started stroking him gently and you saw as his head lolled backwards again the seat, exposing his neck.
You licked a stripe up his throat and stopped at his ear, tugging with your teeth at the little silver hoop that adorned his lobe.
Suddenly he grasped your wrist.
"Baby, careful" he said out of breath and you understood.
He was close.
"I want you Josh" you whispered onto his lips as thunders kept booming.
"Inside" you punctuated and he nodded.
He placed you on the seat next to him and stood, getting rid of his pants and reaching in his back pocket.
He fished out a condom and sat back in the same spot.
You climbed again on top of him, shaking lightly with anticipation.
You watched enraptured as he rolled it on himself and groaned in need.
His hands reached for your hips and guided you up.
He nodded towards himself signaling to you to grab him and guide him where you needed him.
You did so with trembling fingers and his voice immediately came to soothe your nerves.
"Don't be nervous, baby, it's just me. Take your time" he whispered onto the skin of your sternum that covered in goosebumps.
You kissed him and, at the same time, slid his tip a few times along your slit.
When you were ready, you lined him up with you and started to sink down slowly.
Both your gazes were trained between the two of you as he slowly entered you.
By the time he was fully inside of you, you were biting your lips so hard you were sure you were drawing blood.
He felt amazing inside, the sting of the stretch took your breath away completely at first but it slowly dulled.
You both exhaled shaky breaths and he held you still to let you adjust to him.
"You feel amazing, Josh" you whispered onto his lips.
"You feel like heaven, love" he whispered back, clenching his jaw, trying so hard not to move.
You moved, then, sliding up and then back down and feeling him caress your walls beautifully.
You started riding him at a slow pace and watched mesmerized that every time you pushed back down on him, his brows knitted together.
His eyes were shut and his mouth was parted, letting out whispered whimpers of pleasure every time.
You kissed him, deep and slow like your rhythm, but soon it turned famished and your rhythm quickened, with the guidance of his strong hands on your hips.
Your legs were burning, the effort of keeping your body upright when he was eating you out paired with the one you were enduring now started to make you move a bit more erratically on top of him and he was quick to notice the slight change.
"Your legs are hurting, aren't they, baby?" He whispered into your ear hoarsely.
"Yeah, a bit," you said out of breath "it's been a lot since I last…" Your voice trailed off and your face flushed in embarrassment.
"Hey, it's fine don't worry about it," he whispered pressing his nose in your cheek "let me help you"
He stopped you and stood carefully, with you still on his lap, showing his strength.
You wrapped your legs around his hips and pressed your body completely against his.
You were both covered in sweat and glistening in the low light.
He started walking backwards and soon, you were sitting on the side of the stage with his body between your parted legs
He managed to move the both of you while staying inside of you. You were impressed.
You admired the toned muscles of his arms as he flexed them to keep you close to him.
Once your body relaxed back, he searched for your gaze and you nodded, giving him permission to move.
He took the lead and set a quick and deep pace, hitting places you didn't even know existed inside of you.
The first thrusts made you slip down, so you were laying on your back on the stage gripping the edge tightly and looking up at the ceiling.
But you missed the eye contact with him so you managed to bring yourself back up.
You kissed him again and your hands tangled in his hair, making him moan in your mouth.
Suddenly he grabbed your ankle and hooked your leg in the crook of his elbow, opening you up even more for him.
His next thrust shook your entire behind, making you clench harshly around him and you couldn't help but claw at his back.
"Are you close, baby? I can feel you squeezing me so tight" he whispered into your ear as he kept his pace, strong and steady.
You nodded, unable to speak and slid your hands down his sweaty back and on his ass, digging your nails in the supple muscle there.
He groaned and angled his hips so he could hit your sweet spot repeatedly, while simultaneously stroking your clit with his thumb that he had previous wetted with his tongue.
A thunder so loud that rattled the walls muffled your cries as you hit your climax, enveloping him in a vice-like grip.
He followed soon after, the sounds escaping his mouth were unbridled and heavenly and echoed into the room sinfully.
His body fell limp against you, his damp forehead pressed to your shoulder as he tried to calm down his heavy breathing.
You tried to do the same, feeling his hands caressing your back gently.
He slowly pulled out of you and kissed you sweetly.
When your eyes met the both of you were still panting, with flushed cheeks and disheveled hair, but you couldn't hold back a little embarassed giggle at how the night had escalated.
"Thank God there is no one in here or that would have been a hell of a 18+ show" he whispered playfully into your ear and you cackled loudly.
He helped you get down from the stage and grabbed some of the tissues you had brought for the cake to clean you up gently.
Then he grabbed your clothes from the seat and handed them to you.
"Don't run away, I'll be right back" he said and walked towards the bathroom with his clothes in his hands.
He came back with other clothes on, a white tshirt and black jeans and brought you a clean tshirt too, so if you wanted to change.
It was black, with the cinema logo in bold red lettering and it reached you mid-thigh, like a perfect sleep tshirt.
You sat back in your respective seats and ate some more cake, chatting about your favorite movies.
After a while, you started yawning, the tiredness of the day was starting to making itself known.
He looked tired too, but the storm outside wasn't subsiding in the slightest, so you were stuck there with the lights still out.
Then you saw it.
The deep red velvet of the curtains folded on one of the seats.
He noticed your gaze and chuckled.
"We had the same idea, love" he said and stood helping you, unfolding the fabric and placing it on the floor.
Quickly you had set up a makeshift bed in the middle of the cinema room.
You laid down feeling extremely awkward but giddy to be there with him.
The velvet felt extremely soft against your skin end despite it being old, it was clean.
As you laid down, his arms brought you closer to him. You could feel his breathing, steady and calm on your neck and soon you were drifting off, listening to the wind whistling outside.
In the morning you woke up in his arms. You were a bit sore due to sleeping on the floor and other activities but you felt extremely at ease with him close to you.
He looked so soft, with sleepy eyes and his usual contagious grin on his lips.
It was hard to part from him but you had to go to work so you had to leave him there.
"Have a good day, love" he said in a hot whisper against your neck and you forcefully parted from him, knowing that if you didn't, you would end up tangled in the curtains with him, again.
But at work you couldn't focus, your mind kept drifting off to him.
And you spent the entire week thinking about him.
On Saturday you went to the cinema as always, they were showing "The Shining".
His smile at the register was very flirty and warm.
The evening went on as usual, but when the movie was almost over, you felt someone touching your elbow in the dark.
It was him.
He motioned for you to follow him and you ended up in the same showing room as last time.
Before you knew it you were pressed against the wall by his body, his lips hot on your neck and his hands sneaking around your body.
"Did you miss me, baby?" He said unbuttoning your jeans and sinking down on his knees.
"God, you don't even know how much" you whispered back, biting your bottom lip and sinking both your hands into his hair.

I think Modern AUs of Beauty and the Beast need to lean harder on the "since the morning that we came to this poor provincial town" line
Belle came from something that is not a small, economically shaky rural town! There are a few possibilities, but I choose to understand it as Belle being a City Girl, because I think I can make it funny.
This is a City Girl who moved here, and looks Generically Pretty, because she's just Different from the others (that's why she's the most beautiful girl in town). It's not necessarily that she is prettier, but small towns tend to have limited options, and a new look is an interesting one.
She reads so many books because she never got agribusiness classes in high school, so she isn't set up for small town life in terms of actually getting a job locally, and she tends to avoid other people and hide in her books because it's easier than people. Everyone reads into this as her being kind of stuck-up and snotty because she looks down on the locals.
Her dad is some Weird City Man Who Lost His Tenure For Blowing Up The Science Wing, so he's now the eccentric who had to move to Nowhere, Middle Of for the sake of getting away from a whole lot of Crap regarding his reputation.
The local dudes who all peaked in high school are joshing for a chance at Belle, because she's the Hot City Girl. They do all think she's weird as hell because she's got Political Opinions And Uses The Wrong Slang, and are very much of the opinion that there is a certain level of crazy that can be excused by being hot enough.
Cue "Dad gets lost, gotta go find him, agree to stay in the cursed castle because, well, gotta save Dad! And curses are a pretty extenuating circumstance to 'weird guy wants me to stay with him indefinitely,' especially since isn't asking for sex or housework while living with him, so... whatever. I still have a phone and Dad knows to call the cops if I miss a check-in."
Also in regards to the various servants, there are cult rumors. These days, live-in staff are a lot less common. Nobody's seen anyone from The Big House in ages, but the building still accepts food deliveries and puts out trash for collection, so someone must be there, so the only reasonable take on why they're out of contact is cult.
From the perspective of the town... she falls for that weird rich dude who lives in the foothills and has what seems to be a cult, which for the peaked in high school crew is very "Okay. You weren't that hot anyway, bitch."
The 'magic mirror shows that Belle is trapped by a monster' is actually just people going "aw shit, new girl got sucked into the cult, should we go check on her?" Her dad keeps saying that she's fine and hasn't said anything is really wrong, but everyone insists that she's lying because it's all Cult Bullshit.
After that whole mess is over, with the Beast and crew once again human and Belle clearly annoyed and reading the riot act to both the townsfolk and Adam, showing she's not fallen for any brainwash-y bullshit, she was just a pissed-off girl who decided "I can bully him into being a better person," which is probably a bad decision, but she's a grown-ass woman, so...
The cops are no longer trying to kidnap her back from the local rich eccentric (as opposed to the local poor eccentric, of which there are several, including Belle's dad).
The townsfolk decide by and large that this was probably for the best because Belle's apparently broken the cult situation? Somehow? And people from the big house in the hills are finally visiting town and proving they're alive again, so that's good.
It was never a cult, they just couldn't show their faces when the faces were furniture.
This turned into a bit more 'massive misunderstanding' with a heavy dollop of accidental Hallmark movie, but hey, we got there in the end. We all know I love a good genre mashup, and a romcom on one side with a horror on the other is basically how Disney did it, right?
Also I've been bingeing a lot of SNL and the actress I've got in my mind for this is Ego Nwodim.

Not your shade of green - Josh Kiszka
Summary: Reader has had feelings for Josh since childhood, and has had to deal with watching Josh with other girls for so long. Tonight wouldn’t be any different……or would it?
TW: Pining (because it hurts so good), angst (if you squint),Mentions of Alcohol and drinking.
Tumblr media
The realization that you had feelings for Josh hit you like a ton of bricks. In the 8th grade when Josh had asked a girl named Jamie to the winter formal with him. It was big and extravagant and you hated it. You tried to convince yourself you hated it because grand gestures give you anxiety, but you knew you really hated it because it was Josh and he was doing it for someone else. You were jealous.
You had become very acquainted with the ugly green monster throughout your friendship with Josh. There had been many weeks of dodged calls and texts after he landed a date, and sudden "family emergencies" at hangouts when Josh invited someone he was interested in to tag along. You were ashamed. Yes, but you couldn't explain the feelings you harbored for Josh, they had kind of just always been there and you didn't think they would ever go away.
You thought you would grow out of your jealousy, and maybe even find the ability to be happy for Josh and search for your own happiness. But, every guy just seemed lackluster when compared to Josh, not as funny, or loving, or attractive. In your mind no one would ever measure up to Josh, and to be honest that thought terrified you. What if you could never move on?
So, that's how you found yourself the night of the holiday party at the Kiszka’s. Already in a bad mood from a long week at work, filled with frustrating customers and your boss grating you about a late project. And being forced to move around the stuffy room of people trying not to bump into anyone on the search for your friends certainly didn’t make your week any better.
Finally your eyes met the outline of the longer haired twin, “Jake!" You called out over the music to get his attention. He was casually leaning against the wall sipping a cup of whatever spiked drink was in the large punch bowl.
"Y/n! Hey, I didn't know if you would make it tonight!"
“Well I thought I would drop by for a little while. After the week I’ve had I could definitely use a few drinks.”
“That’s the spirit!” Jake laughed as he brought you into a friendly hug.
You continued to talk to Jake and were in a very serious drinking game of trying to spot the cringy flirting attempts from others at the party. Needless to say you were a few drinks in and could feel the thoughts in your head getting muddled the more you drank.
“Have you seen Josh? He wouldn’t stop talking about you possibly coming tonight." Jake started back up a conversation after you both called a truce on the drinking game that likely wouldn't have stopped until one of you was on the floor.
“No, you were actually the first I saw when I came in.”
“Oh there he is!” Jake pointed across the room and your eyes followed until they rested upon his twin. Josh was wearing a casual brown jumpsuit, his signature mix between a mullet and mohawk of curls styled to perfection. Josh was of course the center of attention, standing in the middle of the room, talking loudly while surrounded by way too many people.
You continued to stare in that direction, deciding to yourself that you would catch Josh later when he wasn’t surrounded by most of the people stuffed into the house. Then, you caught sight of a particular someone that was standing beside Josh, Gemma.
You immediately felt sick to your stomach, either the alcohol was setting in or that green monster was rearing it’s ugly head.
Gemma was a friend of yours from school, but the two of you hadn’t been friends since you introduced her to the boys. You had spent weeks if not months telling Gemma about the 4 boys that were such a vital part of your life, she had insisted on meeting them as “they sounded like fun”. Only when she did meet them she spent the entire night flirting with Josh.
You wouldn’t have cared very much at all, but the week after Josh was only talking about how big of a crush he was developing on Gemma, that’s what broke the dam walls and your jealousy came rushing out resulting in you avoiding Gemma like the plague from then on. You really didn’t set out to avoid her, but every time you thought about talking to her you were reminded of Josh’s feelings. She would talk about Josh complimenting her outfit, or Josh wanting to take her out, or even about the movie nights with Josh she would spend cuddled into his side.
At some point Josh and Gemma’s relationship fizzled out, feelings were compromised when the boys started to take their music more seriously, and Gemma also set out to make a name for herself as part of an all girl rock group. That fact about Gemma had contributed to your jealousy, not only did she have a great personality, show stopping looks, but she could also play guitar in the league of some of the greatest in history. Why wouldn't someone be attracted to someone like Gemma? And now that her band was hitting success just like the boys, her and Josh seemed to have even more in common if that was possible.
Now, Gemma was standing as close as she could to Josh, her hand resting on his shoulder as she laughed at something Josh was saying. Everything was too much, her laugh too loud and abrasive, her hand too close to his neck, his smile too genuine as he watched her movements. You were not drunk enough for this.
“Jake, I think I need another drink.” The words were followed by a small huff as they exited your lips. But you turned to see that Jake had already drifted towards the group of people surrounding Josh and Gemma at the center.
You trudged over to the small table covered with various spiked drinks and a few bowls of chips and other snack foods, a sour look no doubt taking over your face, you were starting to think you should have just stayed home. Standing by the drink table nursing your much too strong drink, Alone, is how Danny and Sam found you, bright smiles stretched across their lips as they looked over your figure. You flashed them a smile which despite your best efforts didn’t quite manage to reach your eyes.
Noticing this, Danny’s smiling face dropped into a look of slight concern. About to speak up and ask you if everything was okay he suddenly heard Sam’s voice drift over the loud music and other voices filling the room, “You look like someone kicked your puppy.”
“Oh thanks Sammy, that’s just what a girl wants to hear.” Your eyes rolled exaggeratedly, a dry laugh accompanying the dramatic facial expression.
“What he means to say is, everything okay?” Danny interjected before Sam could reply back to your sarcasm with no doubt more sarcasm.
“Yeah I’m all good. Just had a work week from hell and all the yelling in here really isn’t helping.” The half-truth flowed from your lips surprisingly well. Danny had always been your designated person to approach if you ever needed to talk which made it that much harder for you to hold back spilling every detail about the feelings festering in your chest.
“Well if you think I’m going to let you wallow in the corner alone all night, you’ve clearly never met me.” Sam said as he began to drag you by the wrist toward the small group of people dancing near the speakers. You didn’t have time to protest as Sam moved so fast causing your feet to follow the direction of his pulling, finally Sam slowed his pace, the two of you directly in the center of the dancing bodies. Danny soon joining and immediately starting to dance around with Sam, their interesting choice of moves causing laughter to tumble out of your mouth. You couldn’t help but joining in their dance moves, feeling your spirits beginning to lighten as you moved around ridiculously.
You closed your eyes and let yourself get lost in the feeling of the music, the flow of the song controlling your body movements. Soon, almost everyone attending the party had moved to the speakers and began to dance, bodies bumping into bodies, couples way too close for comfort. You opened your eyes at Sam's command to "watch this", he pointed at a couple across the floor who were practically eating each other's faces and clawing at each other's clothes. Your face scrunched up in disgust as Sam giggled at your reaction, your eyes drifted over Sam's shoulder to the two figures swaying a few feet away.
Josh and Gemma were dancing to the slow beat of the newest song the DJ chose, but what specifically caught your eye was Gemma's hand, it drifted from Josh's arm up to his neck. She used the hand to direct Josh to look down at her face, a smile making an appearance on his face as soon as he faced her. Your face fell as you watched their interaction, your heart twisting in your chest at the way she touched him, the way she made him smile, the way they couldn't stop talking for more than a few seconds. You always found it easy to talk to Josh but eventually every conversation would drift into comfortable silence as you enjoyed the presence of one another, or so you thought. You suddenly wondered if Josh saw the silence as awkward rather than comfortable, he seemed to enjoy talking to Gemma so much why wasn't he this way with you?
You were put off of dancing at this point, not wanting to stay in the same area and being forced to watch Josh and Gemma dance together as they excitedly rambled and laughed together. You stepped back up to Sam and shouted that you needed some air joking that your social battery was running low when he began to ask what was going on. You shoved your way through the countless bodies before reaching the front door, you let out a huff as you stepped out into the cool night air settling yourself into one of the deck chairs. You were wrestling with your feelings, you knew you shouldn't be acting this way, but every time you looked at them together you couldn't help the immediate jealousy that washes over you.
The door opened and you glanced to your side to see Josh's figure emerging from the house, his eyes looked over you for a short while before he moved to sit in the chair beside you. "What are you doing out here?" Your voice came out quiet, your eyes casted down to the wood floor of the deck. You knew the second you looked at Josh you would feel even more foolish for your jealousy than you already felt.
"Should I ask you the same thing?"
"Where's Gemma?" You chose to ignore his prior comment for fear of outing the real reason you were sitting out here instead of enjoying yourself in the party.
"What?" His eyebrows were furrowed in confusion as you finally allowed your eyes to glance over his facial features, you felt foolish. You didn't want to admit that you were jealous of Josh spending time with Gemma, you wished you could say as long as Josh was happy you'd be happy as well but you knew that wouldn't be true.
"You guys seemed to be joined at the hip in there." Okay, so your attempt at hiding your jealousy was not going as well as you'd hoped it would go. Your mouth was moving before your brain could stop the sarcastic comment coming out of your mouth.
"What are you talking about?" Josh chuckled softly, the look of confusion still present on his face,
"Josh, we don't need to talk about it," You sighed and tugged your knees up to your chest, your head resting on them "you can head back inside, i'll be fine."
"And leave you out here all alone? I don't think so."
“I’m not a kid anymore, I think I can handle spending time on my own.” Your chuckle was short and breathy, nothing like you. And of course Josh realized.
“But you shouldn’t have to?” Josh’s eyes were so incredibly soft when he looked at you and at times you thought that was a sign of hidden feelings for you, but you were slowly being convinced it was just a manifestation of the pity he must feel for you.
The boys had amassed worldwide success and yet they still felt the need to always include you, their dear old friend. You however had put your dreams on the back burner as requested by your parents in favor of a “more stable career”, a more stable career that you were miserable doing everyday. Josh was always your biggest cheerleader, stating that he would always have your back if you wanted to chase your dreams, but you could never bring yourself to overcome the fear of what you would have to lose to gain the life you dreamed of. Exactly the way you felt about your feelings for Josh.
“What ever happened to Logan?” Josh broke the silence, the only other sounds being the slow rock of his chair and the soft blow of the wind. He kept having to brush his curls back up from the spots they claimed on his forehead.
“He was a total loser. He asked me on our first date when I’d be willing to meet his wife.”
“Wait, you can’t be serious. He really asked you that?” Josh sat up slightly in his chair his hand landing on your shoulder as his eyes searched your face for any sign of your words being a joke.
“Yeah. And then when she pulled up to pick him up I practically ran to my car.” Your laugh this time was loud and genuine, “guess I don’t have the greatest history with picking the right partners.”
“That’s because you’re not looking in the right place.”
“And where should I be looking Josh?”
“Maybe the boy that’s been in love with you since he was twelve? That would be a good place to start.” Your brows immediately furrowed at Josh’s answer, but mostly at his tone. He spoke like it should be obvious who he was speaking about, as if this boy was right in front of you.
“Who exactly is that?”
“Me.” He was so matter a fact i that moment you swore it took your breath, your eyebrows met in the center of your forehead as a sure sign of how hard you were mulling over his words. He had to be joking, there was no way that Josh held the same feelings for you as you’d always had for him.
“If this is a joke it’s not very funny.” Your heart was racing, seized by the disbelief washing over you.
“No jokes here pretty girl.” Then, Josh’s hands were cradling your face, his soft brown eyes staring deeply into yours.
“When I first realized I had feelings for you I thought if I waited long enough or went on enough dates with randoms they would eventually go away, they never did. And I can’t pretend anymore. Y/n, I think I might love you.” A huff of air left your lips at Josh’s confession, almost like his words sucked the very breath from your lungs.
“Josh, I’ve been hopelessly in love with you since I met you. And every day since I fall more in love with everything that you are.”
Josh’s hand suddenly rested on the back of your head, pulling your face to meet his in a feverish kiss. A kiss that had been waiting far too long. Your bodies in sync like they were meant to be pressing into one another, your hands tangled in Josh’s shirt as his migrate into your hair.
“Y/n are you out here? I’ve been looking for your every- oh.” You pulled away from Josh’s lips at the sound of Sam’s voice as he rushed out the front door with Gemma a few paces behind him .
“I knew it!” Gemma exclaimed a smile resting on her full lips, “Cmon Sam, let’s leave the lovebirds be.”
Gemma sent you a wink as she pulled Sam back inside the house by the sleeve of his shirt as he rambled about owing Jake $20 because he thought Josh was “too chicken to make a move”.
Once the door was shut and the two of you could return to your private little bubble, Josh leaned down to press his lips back to yours. This kiss was shorter than the previous but no less filled with love and intimacy.
“It’s nice to know they had bets on us.” Your forehead was resting on Josh’s as you giggled at his lighthearted comment.
“Bets on you, and I for one am glad you weren’t too chicken.” His hands trailed up your back before suddenly drifting to pinch your sides, causing you to try squirming away from him to no avail.
When you and Josh returned to the party, it was hand in hand with grins stretched across both of your faces. When Jake noticed the two of you his face lit up in a smile, clearly happy for his twin and one of his closest friends.
“Cheers to the new happy couple!” Jake raised his solo cup, causing others in the room to raise theirs in tandem, either with the knowledge of what they were raised for or simply too drunk and rowdy to care.
You were convinced that the happy expression couldn’t be wiped from your face as you and Josh spent the remainder of the night dancing away, tangled in each other without a care in the world. You wished little you could see this right now, you got the guy that you had spent over half your life wishing was yours and you were in total disbelief at being able to call him yours.

Outside of Elijah/Klaus (cause there was absolutely 0 reason both of them died), which character in all of TVDU do you think had the most unnecessary/dumb death?
Honestly Klaus and Elijah aren't even in my top. Yes, both of them dying was dumb, but there are so many other death's that were more unnecessary. At least Elijah and Klaus made it to the end of TO.
Some honorable mentions: Hayley, Tyler, Gia, Josh, Enzo, Jo, Lexi, Sophie, Eve, Jesse, Aaron, Aya, Jackson, all of the hybrids, Carol, Henry, Celeste (first time), Genevie (first time and kind of second time). I'm sure there are more.
But my most unnecessary/dumb death is Cami O'Connell.
Tumblr media
There was zero reason for her to die and it was because she wasn't meant to die. I firmly believe she was meant to be the school psychologist in Legacies. It would have made so much sense for her to be there for Hope after Hope lost so much of her family. It also would have allow a woman on the show to have a happy ending that wasn't centered around a man. Her happy ending would have been watching over Hope and helping all of the supernatural children, fulfilling her family's destiny.
Cami still had so much of a story left to tell. She was so young and full of promise. She lost her entire family due to the supernatural world and then was forced into it herself. If anyone in TO is a parallel to Elena, it is Cami. Her family legacy was so entrenched in the supernatural that it was only a matter of time before she herself was pulled into it.
Even her death made no sense. Lucien wanted to hurt Klaus for 'stealing' Aurora from him, but at that point, Lucien had the ability to kill Klaus. Sure, maybe he wanted him to suffer, so why not go after Hope? She was out in the bayou essentially unprotected (let's be honest, what could Mary have done?).
Even if we accept Lucien wanted to make it even by taking away Klaus' love, how did they not save her? Like two days later the entire Mikaelson gang is bitten and Freya just magically thinks of a way to freeze them and save them all? They couldn't have thought of that a little quicker? It's funny how they always manage to think of life saving magic when the plot/Mikaelsons require it, but there's no other options when it comes to sacrificing other characters.
Even if we accept that she died, they really didn't even make an effort to bring her back? Davina was able to be brought back from the dead after her soul was shredded. I know the other side was gone at that point, but let's not pretend the show didn't just bring back characters with very little rhyme or reason. The Mikaelsons didn't even attempt to find a way to bring her back.
And no one even say it was to help Klaus' character development. I hate when women are killed to further a man's development. It was clear in the writing that Klaus still needed Cami for his development. He was just at the brink of trying to be a better person, he was nowhere near done. We can clearly see this in the amount of scenes Hayley becomes ooc in order to be Cami for Klaus. Or Caroline coming in season 5, which made no sense, was clearly meant to be Cami.
Cami was an O'Connell and this meant something in New Orleans. People who claim her character was just a love interest were not watching. Her character was going to unite New Orleans. Not Hayley, not Hope, and definitely not the Mikaelsons. Every faction adored her. Marcel and Vincent loved her and would have done anything to keep her safe. The Mikaelsons each loved her outside of her relationship with Klaus. She would have always been a mother figure to Hope, no matter what her relationship was. Hayley loved her as well. We don't see her interact with the wolves too much but that's because they were largely forgotten in the writing. But every faction loved her and respected her. Her legacy was fixing the war in New Orleans. Which I love the writers just kind of dropped and everything magically go better when the Mikaelsons left, even though the war had been going on longer than the Mikaelsons were there.
The writers had not planned to kill her off but because of the toxicity of the fandom, they killed her off. This is just bad writing. They writers often cared more about ratings than the actual art of story telling and the show suffered because of it.
Thanks for the ask! What other deaths do you all think were unnecessary?

do u have any sweet or fluffy hcs for 911?
ohhh let me think!!okay so i don't think this one's mine bc im pretty sure i read it somewhere but i really like the idea of bobby, chim and eddie having like a "secret dads club" where they meet every week and they give some tips to chim about bring a dad. sometimes they take jee to walk in the park and sometimes they just play some card games and bitch about whatever.
i think that would be so funny and such a cute and hilarious group.
speaking of clubs!! i also like to think that eddie, may, linda, sue and maddie have this kind of secret book club. and they all read those really cheesy, erotica novels with some half naked dude on the cover. sometimes eddie even invites tía pepa in. and after they discuss the book they also mostly gossip about what's going at dispatch, josh's latest love disastrous experience, some of the new probies at the station, may's asshole classmates from college etc etc.
one day when buck finds out about it, he makes a big deal out of it just to tease eddie. but then he promises not to tell anyone and he will always babysit chris and jee if need be bc he thinks maddie and eddie deserve to have this thing for themselves and enjoy it.
i think athena knows how to cook but she doesn't enjoy it as much as bobby and it's not THAT good at it, but every friday night they both have free they stay on the couch and watch this cooking show bobby really likes. it's a kind of competition so bobby talks the entire time about what he would do differently and what things the contestants are doing wrong and if he had the chance he could totally win. he gets really worked up about it in the most endearing and hilarious of ways and athena just smiles fondly and tries to distract him with neck kisses and then they have a impromptu make out session on the couch like they're hormonal teenagers in love. (they kinda are)
may is a BIG swiftie and for her birthday bobby took her to the eras tour and spent WEEKS making friendship bracelets with her. (he has a few may gave him saved on his nightstand and he also made one for buck bc he's a big softie.)
buck knows how eddie hates driving and also is most of the time really busy with stuff from chris' school or whatever so sometimes when he goes to the grocery, he also shops for eddie and drops the bags casually and without saying anything. eddie tried to argue at first but know he just smiles and reallyyy bravely resists the urge to jump and kiss buck alo over his stupidly handsome face.
also, when eddie is feeling overwhelmed with chores and tía pepa calls him to fix something at her house, buck goes instead and for his troubles he earns a lot of gossip about tía pepa's friends and some DELICIOUS snacks made by her <333
I have more but i think this got a lil long so ill shut up now sksjjs

I know you're embarrassed to talk about mlp, but am I the only one who finds it WEIRD that Spike and Twilight didn't know about the Molt until Smolder had to tell Spike? Wasn't Spike learning about dragons since he made friends with Ember?
You know… I came to the (very obvious) conclusion a while back that the reason the show started to go downhill after the movie is because the majority of the writers for season 8 and 9 were completely new writers who never bothered to do research on the pre-established characters and lore. Like yeah, they made a lot of references and callbacks to previous seasons, but when it came to character writing and continuity they didn't know what they were doing.
And the writers that have been with the show for a while like Josh Harber had become burned out by season 8.
Oh, about your question. You're right, it doesn't make any sense that both Twilight and Spike wouldn't know about the Molt.
Ever since the season 6 episode Gauntlet of Fire, Twilight and Spike had started learning about dragons from Ember.
In the season 7 premiere Twilight says this:
Twilight Sparkle: Starlight will love it in the Dragon Lands. In her letters, Ember said dragons do a lot of fun things. The Feast of Fire, the Dragon Bowl, Claw-chella.
Tumblr media
They also establish in the season 7 episode Triple Threat that Spike was now the royal ambassador to the Dragon Lands:
Spike: Reason number one – I invited Dragon Lord Ember to Ponyville today. Reason two – the Dragon Lord is a dragon. Reason three – she's coming here to learn more about friendship.
Twilight Sparkle: According to Ember's letters, the dragons are trying to be friends, but competing is in their nature, and it's leading to more and more fights.
Spike: Which brings me to reason number four. The Dragon Lord wants my advice, and as the new official Equestrian friendship ambassador to the dragons, I can't let her down.
Tumblr media
In the season 7 finale Spike is able to recognize and name a dragon sport:
Spike: Good thing you brought the official Equestrian friendship ambassador to the dragons to help you navigate our customs. Like our favorite sport – gorge surfing!
Tumblr media
In the Equestria Girls special Spring Breakdown, Spike is telling the group a funny story about what it was like to attend a dragon wedding:
Spike: ...and that's the last time I ever went to a dragon wedding!
Both Twilights, Sunset Shimmer, and Rainbow Dash: [laugh]
Tumblr media
It's unknown if he was there for diplomatic reasons, or if he was invited, but he was there.
So even though they never show it on screen (for some reason) it's been implied through dialogue that both Spike and Twilight have learned a lot about dragons since season 6. Spike travels to the Dragon Lands for various reasons, and Ember sends them letters with information on dragon society and culture.
So it makes no logical sense that both Twilight and Spike didn't know about the Molt. The Molt is basic dragon puberty.
Also in that same episode, Spike was able to recognize and name the pimple that he got:
Rarity: Is there something wrong with your face?
Spike: [sighs] It's a stone scale. It isn't magical or anything like the call of the Dragon Lord. It's just... red. And itchy. [groans] And embarrassing.
Tumblr media
It's kind of unbelievable that both Spike and Twilight wouldn't have learned about the Molt until that point. Smolder had to tell Spike what the Molt was…
Smolder: [laughs] Wow! I have seen some pretty bad molts in my time, but yours takes the cake!
Spike: Molts?
Smolder: The molt? Super painful stone scales, fire burps, uncontrollable volume shifts? It's all part of growing up dragon. Congrats!
Tumblr media
Spike: No-no-no-no-no. The last time I grew up, I turned into a giant greedy monster.
Smolder: Greed-induced bigness. That's totally different. The molt is completely normal. Every dragon goes through it. Pretty soon, you'll leave and strike out on your own.
And Twilight was genuinely shocked to see Spike had sprouted wings.
Twilight Sparkle: Spike?! How did you get wings?!
Twilight Sparkle: This is amazing! I didn't know if you'd ever get wings. I'm so happy for you. Does it have something to do with this molt you were talking about?
Spike: [sighs] It's what's been going on with me. The breakout, the fire burps. The molt is when dragons get older and start to change.
Tumblr media
Also up until that point, Spike was the only dragon in the show without wings.
Except for this guy:
Tumblr media
Spike was the odd dragon out because he lacked wings. You think at some point of Twilight and Spike learning about dragons throughout season 6 to the movie that Spike's lack of wings would've come up in some way, and Ember or some other dragon would've explained to Spike and/or Twilight what the Molt was.
I can only imagine that they wanted Spike getting wings to be a surprise to the characters as well as the audience, so them knowing about it beforehand wouldn't work. But… them not knowing about it beforehand doesn't work, if you've been keeping up with the show.
In conclusion the post-movie writers didn't give a crap about previous continuity.
Tumblr media
And didn't bother to proofread their own work.

BanBan Reimagined!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had a couple ideas with BanBan. Below the cut
For the record: I'm not doing this to bully the Developers. Especially since I genuinely think they have some cool ideas for this game series. I'm just writing down what I probably would have done differently with the characters
I wanted to give him more of a fun Kondergarten look, and I foind this suit online and figured it was perfect. So I just kind of gave it a few tears and messiness to show that it's been a while since he's actually interacted with kidsm
Tumblr media
I imagine that he is kind of like a companion that would follow you around. At first it would start off the same as in the game, being a voice over the intercom, telling you he's locked somewhere and needs a key card.
But unlike the game, he's actually telling the truth, locked up in the office.
If needed/wanted, he could still punch the player when they arrive. Most likely feeling startled/not expecting you to arrive so fast, I possibly reacting by punching you had a fear that you were someone else (possibly jumbo Josh or something, Idk)
He seems like a physically strong character, and he's pretty tall, so maybe when he's around you don't need to use the drone to reach buttons that are high up for example. Maybe there could be a gag in the game where you're struggling to unlock a door and he punches it down or something by accident.
I still think he'd still be drawn to the smell of organs (specifically pancreas is since he seems to be drawn to those in the game) and his monster instincts get yhe better of him if the player is injured/bleeding. I don't know, could be a cool mechanic or something
I think BanBan would want to help the player find their kid(s) due to the fact that he cares about children. I mean, if he was specifically designed to educate/protect/entertain kids, I feel like that would still be a bid priority for him, even if everything's gone to s***
I think it could be a neat mechanic that you have to keep an eye on him, watching for "tells" for when he's about to lose control. Maybe he could start drooling from hunger, or growling, maybe he has retractible teeth, maybe his demeanor would change. Some subtle hints to help the player know when to run without shoving it in their face obnoxiously, y'know?
Tumblr media
Looking for your point in the games where they decide it's too dangerous to have BanBan nearby, and so he goes back to being a voice on the intercom, ready to help if necessary.
You could have some good comedy moments with him too. Or just other immersive things. I've noticed the game doesn't really have music most of the time.
Maybe there could be moments where you could call BanBan and tell him to turn on some music over the intercom. He doesn't seem to like silence. You could have a funny moment similar to Ick from The Upturned where the music becomes a funny hindrance.
Tumblr media
Yeah, I feel like if they're going to make him a companion for the player that has some caveats they should really lean into it! I think it would really help the game stand out from other mascot Horrors by having a more present companion. Besides, it would actually let you get to know his character so when Stinger Flynn captures him it would mean more. Because it's Not my just some sunburned lookong guy getting captured, it's a friend and guide.
Similar to how chapter 4 of BATIM had Alice capture Boris

I'm surprised by how much I like Kirin. Not saying he is flawless, but I basically like every layer he has and even his flaws.
The character's development they did for him was fast, but I didn't like this trope subversion less because of this. When I say 'fast' I mean that I basically started ep.5 thinking about how bad it was for Josh to be paired with the "Chad" after the trauma he had gone through, and I ended that episode sure that Kirin was my fav (boy) character and also my fav person on the boys' island.
So, some consideration in no particular order:
- either Kirin has a natural talent to spot signs of abuse, or he has more backstory than what we have been made aware of so far. He frowns even before he sees the red marks on Josh's chest, reacting only based on his avoidance. He says and does what's right, not only he stays 100% firm in his decision to believe Josh but he also state that decision aloud multiple times. I see backstory here and I want it.
- not straight. He has a not-straight energy that is incredibly big. He's the Sports Jock and the "Chad" but his backstory has no girls in it: we don't see him with a girl not even in a fragment; he's not pictured as an heartbreaker, which usually pairs really well with the archetype of the Conventionally Attractive Popular School Bully Captain; he could have been busy with practise, sure, but from the point of the writers I see this as a deliberate storytelling choice to hint at something (or at least I hope so)
- he's funny. I find him genuinely funny.
- he's the natural leader, but he is also kinda the group mom. And his attentions to the others are so casual and natural that you fail to notice them at first: how he hugs Bo on the cliff, how he cooks and shares food, how he always has an eye on the others. It comes so naturally to him and therefore I want to know more about the "dad part" he gets to play and his siblings
- he may be a "act now think later (or never)" kind of person, but he is not a bad person. I ended up thinking about "bad boy, good man" as the perfect quote for him during one of the episodes.
- I'm not excusing what he said to Ivan in the flashback, but I really see that moment as nuanced. He said awful things, no doubts about that, but what I see in that scene is this: a drunk and sad schoolboy caught in the middle of a breakdown whose first reaction is to firmly state he is not an homophobe/racist (not sure about which one he was going for as the sentence is cut off) and to refuse to repeat the insults Ivan is putting in his mouth. In other words I don't see him as a racist and/or homophobe who is ready to insult people and happy to do so given the chance; and I see this because he does not come up with bad words he was refraining himself from using but is glad to let out, he repeats exactly what Ivan was telling him to say; I don't see any joy in him as the words come out of his mouth, I only see a broken young boy who is being provoked in a moment of fragility. Also, surely enough Ivan and him have more backstory, otherwise Ivan's provocation is unexplicable: we haven't seen Kirin doing anything bad up to this moment, so I don't get why Ivan starts this provocation. Therefore I suspend my judgment on this moment (and on both Ivan and Kirin before the island) until I know more about their relationship and what led to that moment in the locker room.
- his interview draws a lot of parallels to Toni and I like this a lot
- I'm really praying they'll use this magnificent example of "Archetype: Chad" to subvert the 'boys will be boys' trope and to show us a boy who is stupid and impulsive and everything a 'boy' is, but is also inherently a good person.
ALSO why he is officially listed as "Kirin O'Connor" but everyone on tumblr tags him as "Kirin O'Conner"?

do u have any fav book recs!???? love ur literary mind and would love to know if u have any good must reads sorry this is random
thank you!! i don't read nearly as often as i should but i have a lot of books that i love:
the furry trap by josh simmons is a wildly weird, disgusting, and obscene piece of work that i've loved for years. it's satirical and deranged and very darkly funny and his style is so unique. it's a collection of eleven short comics and some standalone illustrations. my favorites are cock bone, christmas eve, and demonwood, but none of them are bad. at least in my opinion. a lot of people think it's just edgy for edgy's sake, but even if it is, it's still really fucking good. i always find that criticism to be so funny because it's only ever flung at media with any kind of sex and violence and taboos in it.
tender is the flesh by agustina bazterrica is one that a lot of people are familiar with, but it's far from overrated. it's about a world in which cannibalism is legal and humans are bred, bought, and sold for meat. a very lonely, broken, divorced blue-collar man begins to form a bond with a specimen despite any physical contact with her being expressly forbidden. it's twisted and stomach-churning and intimate and i love it.
poison for breakfast by lemony snicket is insanely funny and tender and witty and entertaining. it's essentially an unreliable autobiography that follows strings of consciousness and memories and musings as he panics after getting a note under his door that tells him he had poison for breakfast. it's short and sweet and there are so many wonderful poignant lines throughout it that made me close the book for a second and think for a while.
the wasp factory by iain banks is awesome and it's about a sixteen year old boy named frank with a very fragile older brother who's been sent to a psych ward. frank is ruthlessly violent and unstable and he takes all his anger and frustration and bloodlust out on helpless animals, either human or non. it has a really interesting ambiance to it that traps you in both this violent teenager's headspace and this murky, unsettling little scottish village and things just get worse and worse until you realize you can't get out. highly recommend!
someone who will love you in all your damaged glory by raphael bob-waksberg is a fantastic collection of surreal/sci-fi-based stories that have one foot firmly grounded in realism and very human relationships. it's very vulnerable and tender and tragic and romantic. this is the same author who created bojack horseman, so if you're into that show's brand of drama, you'll really love this
i hope you find me: the love poems of craigslist's missed connections by alan feuer is one of my most favorite little coffee table books ever. it's what it says on the tin: dozens of posts from the missed connections section of craigslist are compiled and wrangled into individual poems and it's really fascinating and it makes my heart ache to see all these very real little individual cases of lost love. i think it's really important to study real people just as much as stories that people can craft.
i luv halloween by benjamin roman and keith giffen is a HIGHLY underrated, EXTREMELY early 00s trilogy about zombies, aliens, and a group of really shitty, violent, obnoxious children who get stuck in the midst of global panic around halloween. it's super edgy and indulgent and gory and gross and childish and it's a whole lotta fun. i go crazy for the art style and the general mindless self indulgence of it all
memories of my melancholy whores (memoria de mis putas tristes) by gabriel garcia marquez is a really lovely and flowery novelette about a ninety year old man who's on his deathbed and he believes that true love will help him feel alive again. he manages to find it in a very young prostitute and reflects on what sets her apart from the others. a lot of people call it the spanish lolita, but it's wildly different. really the only similarities are falling in love with a young girl and realizing she's different than you envisioned her to be at first. it's not for everyone, but i think marquez's prose is beautiful. pretty much everything in his bibliography is worth checking out, he's a genius
holy robots by vasilina orlova is a stunning collection of poetry and it uses the ideas of humans falling in love with and forming lives with machines that try very hard to be human but can't quite do it to illustrate real-world relationship struggles. it also delves into other themes of nature and pure romance as it goes along. it's a quick read and it's so worth checking out, i love it to death
arkham asylum: a serious house on serious earth by grant morrison and dave mckean is a standalone batman comic that's VERY worth reading even if you only have a passive knowledge of batman. it's a beautiful piece of work all on its own. the art style is absolutely fucking gorgeous and it's unlike anything i've ever seen. essentially, the inmates at arkham have overtaken the asylum and batman has to sacrifice himself in order to save the hostages. thus, he subjects himself to brutal psychological torture at the hands of the criminals he's put in the asylum himself and he wastes away little by little. it's good!! it's so good!!!!!
stray toasters by bill sienkiewicz is one of the most intense, gorgeous, twisted, and surreal experiences i've ever had while reading a graphic novel. it might take you a couple of reads for it to really sink in because it's not at all straightforward, but it's a fucking masterpiece of art and writing and it really influenced a lot of my own work and the way i tend to approach art. essentially, it's about a lonely, burnt-out detective who gets released from a psych ward to hunt down a serial killer who's mutilating housewives and young children. it's insanely difficult to find physical copies of, so i would personally just read it online.

Basically it's a love letter from one bestie to another but it got kinda out of hand sjjskakak I still hope you enjoy it 🎉 (also ty Nova for color correcting and giving me confidence 💖)
Tumblr media
It's like waking up disoriented from a dream.
Vernon is suddenly snapped out of the daze Seungwkan had left him in moments ago. The man responsible for it is now standing next to him, barking orders out to at least five other people who are running around their tiny, shared apartment.
"Geez, you didn't need to make such a big deal outta things."
"Should've stopped me instead of pouting in silence in your abysmally dark room like always."
"It's not that dark," Vernon protests and scratches the back of his head, "and I don't pout."
Lilac strands flutter as he tilts his head and does the very thing he said he doesn't do: pout. Seungkwan spares him a look only to roll his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah Mr. Vamp. Maybe when a certain person isn't mentioned, sure." He jerks his head to the right. "Now get your lazy butt moving so I'm not tempted to take a hundred percent of the credit, love, and appreciation in your stead."
Vernon reluctantly peers into the kitchen. Mingyu is waving a spatula in a threatening manner at Wonwoo and their partner for eating and playing with the batter he's been working hard on. Peeking into the living room causes his entire body to cringe at Seokmin and his fiance who are supposed to be blowing up balloons. Instead, they're taking a break to giggle and kiss at one another's necks.
Ugh.
Seeking reprieve, he finally finds comfort stumbling next to Joshua, the seemingly only calm one among the other chaotic scatterbrains. With a kind smile, the maroon-haired man hands a loose end of the various paper chains he's looping together to Vernon, who readily takes it.
"You're pouting."
"I don't pout, Josh."
"Sure, sure. Unless it's about you know who."
"Seungkwan said the same sort of nonsense."
"He's not wrong. Otherwise he wouldn't be putting in all this effort for the both of you."
Vernon frowns. "He didn't have to."
"He did 'cause you were pouting. We all had to."
"I don't… ugh, whatever. All I wanted was something small but different."
"It's different that's for sure." Red bangs fly up when Joshua snorts at a sweaty Seungcheol stumbling through the front door, flanked by additional friends, to bring in an unnecessarily large table. "I know it's not what you normally do but I think it'll be nice."
"We like to do quiet things. Just the two of us. But everything's been screwed up this year."
Joshua's laughter is soft and melodic despite the underlying mockery Vernon suspects it disguises. "So, this surprise party and the commotion that came with it isn't bothering you. You're sulky because quality bestie time has been sacrificed since they went away."
Just because he's right doesn't mean he has to say it.
"I'm not sulking and I'm not sure what's so funny either."
"You are, my dear buddy!" He clasps his friend's shoulder reassuringly whose lilac hair cutely lessens the intensity of his perpetual frown. "After we celebrate, you'll get them all to yourself."
Vernon's nose crinkles. "Why is everyone being so insufferable?"
Not bothering to reply, the other man simply hums and stands to hang the completed portion of the chain. He can manage his grumpy younger friend who's now stapling the remaining rectangular pieces of paper a little bit too aggressively. The knowledge that Vernon will settle back into his easy-going nature once you return is inevitable.
It's just a question of how long all of them will be able to hold out until then.
By the time the sun sets, the fast-paced energy of the afternoon has dwindled down and the party preparations are finally finished.
"Are you sure it will be fine?"
"Honestly, Chwe! Do you not trust my baking skills?"
"More like I don't trust my fridge."
Seungkwan looks up at the exchange between a whiny Mingyu and indifferent Vernon. "Just don't open the fridge overnight and everything should be fine." He huffs, handing a stack of empty pizza boxes to Seokmin. "There's nothing but the cake in there anyways."
That must be enough to satisfy the dessert maker who obnoxiously puffs out his chest in pride. Wonwoo secures the last pack of untouched beer he'd brought in one hand and his partner's wrist tenderly in the other. Bidding everyone a good evening, he leaves with Mingyu following behind them like an elated puppy heading back home after a tiring walk.
"We'll take these and head out too," Seokmin supplies helpfully as he and his fiance finish gathering the final pieces of trash laying around. "See you tomorrow!"
Joshua is the last to go and jingles his car keys loudly before shutting the door with an exclamation of, "Enjoy the surprise!"
He disappears with a cheeky grin and swift departure before the opportunity to be questioned arises and Vernon turns to his unphased roommate.
"What did he mean by that?"
"Oh, you know him. Sometimes he's normal, more often he's not. Probably just wanted to re-remind you of that fact."
Seungkwan's statement is one that anyone can agree with. Figuring Joshua meant nothing as usual, it's already forgotten by the time Vernon's made his way up the steps.
Much later into the night, he's on a desperate search for something when you call but picks up nonetheless. No matter what he's doing, one thing for sure is that he'll always answer the phone when it displays your name. Because it's you.
But maybe that wasn't the smartest decision.
"Hello 'sol!"
"Hey bestie," the phone is cradled between his shoulder and ear as he rummages between the couch cushions. "What's up?"
"Nothing much, guess I just wanted to hear your voice."
A silly smirk halts him in his tracks. "Miss me?"
"Oh, how I long for you so!" The sarcasm lacing your words can't fully hide the smile he hears. "I've talked to you every day as always, it's like I never even left."
"Wish you didn't."
"You and I both. It's nice to be home but still…"
"We've always spent your birthdays together."
"Which is exactly why you should've come back with me!"
"Couldn't intrude on the fam like that."
You sigh. "No one would've minded, you're so dear to them." Mimicking your mother's voice, you continue, "Where's that lil Hansolie of yours? We enjoy his company so much, it's as if he's our son. In fact — we might love him more than our own child!"
Vernon laughs brightly. Bold and loud like he always does in your presence. You draw that part out of him like no one else can, setting him at ease to simply be himself. Comfortable. There are no appearances to uphold with you, no worries either. Everything melts away and it's easy to forget what he was all stressed about before you called. Until hurried feet pounding on the floor signify that someone is about to rush into the living room.
"I found them! I found the — " Seungkwan's happy skip halts upon seeing his friend on the phone and attempts to catch his breath after scrambling down the steps. But the keywords to the unfinished sentence roll right off Vernon's tongue out of relief without thinking.
"The rings?"
Even if he can't see, you perk up from your slouched position in the car and repeat eagerly, "Rings?"
Vernon shares a wide-eyed look with the other man in the room who hesitantly places the box on the coffee table. So much for being relaxed — he got too relaxed and ended up spilling the secret. Exposing himself like an idiot. He normally doesn't care that you are privy to everything there is to know about him but now…
Licking his lips nervously, he chuckles awkwardly. "Uh… yeah?"
"Did you get married or something in the week that I was gone?" you tease. "What's all this ring business about?"
"N-nothing. It's nothing big… y'know how Kwannie was… contemplating… um, engagement."
The man in question gapes and starts waving theatrically while mouthing silent charades full of utter disbelief and betrayal that are readily ignored.
Meanwhile, you snort. "Oh yeah, because that's definitely not a big deal at all. About time! But how did you end up with his rings then?"
Vernon turns his back on a dramatic Seungkwan in order to focus on organizing a believable white lie. "We… invited some of the guys over to talk it out and uh, he didn't want to lose them in the chaos because… he's still deciding and all that, you know… "
"Incredible," you mutter, "yet it seems like you lost them."
Panic, his brain screams. And maybe some shame added as well.
"But whatever, at least you found them." Somehow you seem to miraculously buy his pathetic excuse. Leaving the matter alone because you're distracted by a hearty yawn, he lets out a quiet exhale of relief while you stretch your neck out. "I'm tired."
Your best friend collapses onto the couch, feeling exhausted himself. "You should get some rest."
"And miss when the clock strikes twelve?"
"You've got a long day ahead, flying out after your celebration. You know you can stay longer if it's too much."
He's a little nervous saying that after everyone excitedly spent time to set up a surprise party but your well-being will always be more important to them over anything else.
Mingyu and his cake would survive.
"Puh-lease," you grumble and Vernon knows your eyes just have to be rolling, though you're actually glancing at your watch. "Don't you worry your handsome little head, I'll be right on time."
His eyebrows furrow. "On time for what?"
But you've already put the speaker away from your face, giggling like a gremlin in the background before you loudly cackle, "You're a horrible liar, Hansol!"
He breaks out into a cold sweat, even more perturbed when you simply hang up without even a farewell. "What is up with people today?"
"I dunno, what's up with you?" Phone held dazedly in one hand, Vernon turns to face Seungkwan's wrath. "Because suddenly, I'm engaged — according to your standards!"
"Sorry 'bout that. I'll explain everything when I give them their gift, okay? I think… I don't think they believed me anyway."
"Even Bookkeu wouldn't be fooled by that awful acting. Gosh, now I'm gonna feel bad about not proposing."
"Aw, c'mon Kwan. You know that's not what this meant."
Seungkwan's not really upset and Vernon knows that. Still. It's a subtle sting of a reminder that neither in the ten-year relationship have made a move for sealing that lifelong commitment. It would be a lie to say that it didn't occasionally eat away at the gentle-hearted man. Not that marriage was needed in every romantic relationship.
"I should've said Seokmin but that wouldn't have made sense either… "
"Those two? They're so attached to the hip they would've never handed over their rings to anyone. As a matter of fact though, I wouldn't give you mine either seeing as how you treated yours."
Vernon is quick to jump at his roommate and put him in a light headlock as faux retaliation, knuckles rubbing on the top of his hair while the latter yells in protest. They roughhouse as usual (this time staying clear of any lamp posts), nearly pulling off one another's clothes in the friendly tussle.
That's the position they freeze in when there's two heavy bangs on the door — Vernon with his hand fisted in Seungkwan's collar who has the former's shirt halfway up his torso. Inching closer to one another, they hold their breath. Peeking warily at the front door before meeting each other's terrified eyes that continue to widen in alarm when the beeping sounds of the code being entered starts after two seconds of silence.
They scream (very manly screams if anyone asks them about it afterwards) when the lock clicks open because who on earth knows their code and would break into their apartment at 11:56 PM?
"It's me!" You announce with a flourish — arms raised in exhilaration — only to lower them in confusion. "Oh. Am I interrupting something?"
Joshua glances around you to laugh at the two men entangled in what now looks like a hug. "Is that how you guys plan to defend yourselves? With a lover's embrace? You knew we were coming, Kwannie."
"I didn't know you'd show up at midnight!"
They step away from one another with disgruntled expressions and Vernon side-eyes everyone dubiously.
"You knew?"
Seungkwan's stuttered excuse is cut short when your (and everyone else's) phone buzzes and you excitedly cheer, "Happy gremlin birth hour to me!," and turn to a gobsmacked Vernon. "Aren't I gonna get my welcome back squish and squeeze?"
Of course, he could never deny you a hug. Especially on your birthday. Even if you scared the crap out of him by 'breaking in' when you're supposed to be far away with your family still, he opens his arms with an upward lift of his lips.
"Happy birthday, bestie. Now tell me, what in the world are you doing here?"
He takes in your appearance. Despite the off-and-on nap in Joshua's car on the way back from the airport somewhat helping, there's no way your animated behavior can hide all the obvious tiredness and jet lag.
You back away with a pat to his left bicep that has various rows of little black tattoo symbols encircling it, rocking back and forth on your heels.
"Wanted to celebrate my birthday with you!"
"You should have rested."
"I'm not a child, I wanted to surprise you!"
"But — " Vernon gestures helplessly to you, then the decorations he's sure you haven't noticed, and expects some support from his other friends but they have seemingly disappeared to give the two of you privacy. Plus, likely to escape him asking about the bizarre circumstances.
Gee, what wonderful pals.
"I know, I know… all of you put in a lot of effort. Especially Kwannie."
"I helped too!"
"But it was his original idea and organization, no? You'd never plan something like this."
"Why do you know everything, it's your birthday?" He groans in exasperation at your laughter. "It's supposed to be a secret and you're supposed to be surprised!"
"Ah, speaking of which," you eagerly roll up your right sleeve, "look at what I got!"
His eyebrows raise at the reveal of the ink that now circles over your skin. "Oh? You got tatted?"
"Yes! When I called after you got yours last year, the waitlist was so long I ended up just scheduling it as a birthday gift."
From afar, one might think they're the same as the ones dotting his arm. But upon closer inspection, he's more than pleased to see how you chose to have your own unique personality shine through. Miniscule versions of symbols that mean something precious and objects that seem to represent you best are outlined or filled-in with your favorite color.
"Beautiful."
You smile broadly at how awestruck your best friend is. "No, you."
"No, you."
"No, you."
"Fine, we're both pretty!" Vernon relents, well aware that this could go back and forth forever.
"That we are." You urge him to sit down on the couch and situate yourself next to him, right shoulder to his left, and grab his wrist. "Look!"
Extending your joined arms, you show him how your tattoos align almost perfectly. Then securing his other free hand in yours with the traditional pinky promise the two of you have done since childhood. He chuckles as you nudge him cajolingly with an elbow.
"I see."
"What do you see?"
"You just want me to say something cheesy 'cause you're in your affectionate era."
"It's the least you could do on my birthday."
A deep, weary sigh. "We're… each other's… better… half?"
The hands you have placed on his body tighten their hold as you squeeze hard in your excitement. He grunts as appropriate between your rambling, focusing mainly on when he'll be able to get circulation back where you're gripping, until you suddenly deflate.
"I messed it up. Stupid, sleep-deprived brain."
"You're not stupid."
"You're right, it's your fault."
"Mine?"
"I took the brain cell but now you have it back because we're together." Finally freeing the poor man, you stand in front of him and point. "Okay, let me try again so you'd better wipe your mind clear."
"Yeah, yeah." Vernon crosses his arms and pretends to look annoyed as if there isn't a goofy grin on his face.
"It was supposed to go something like this. We mirror each other, right?" You gesture to your tattoos again. "We're very similar, maybe even too similar at times. But," you flop down where you were originally seated, "we're also different! Different enough that we can compensate for each other's weaknesses and complement each other's strengths… you know, like you said — all that corny stuff."
"Cute."
"Like you."
"And you."
You lean in so close to Vernon that your noses almost touch. "Yeah, because we're besties and we look cute together. Okay, since I ruined the surprise and told you all my secrets, isn't it your turn now?"
"My turn?"
"Yeah, Mr. Rings."
"Ah… so that was your goal all along."
"Of course, I'm waiting with bated breath."
He raises his chin in the direction of the coffee table. "It's right there."
Despite teasing him about not wrapping it, you quickly snatch the velvet box before he can grab it himself. "Couple rings?" You put a hand over your heart dramatically. "Aw, you shouldn't have, Hansol."
"They're bestie rings, you dolt."
"Did you just call me an idiot?!"
"Yeah. With affection though."
You make a sound of disgust but return to the precious gift, lips curling upwards. "They're beautiful."
"Copycat."
"Stop it, you love me."
"I do."
"Then put it on me," you demand, handing him the ring box and wiggling your fingers in anticipation.
Vernon mumbles something about how impatient you are and to chillax. But he does as asked and gently takes the hand always used to pinky promise and bro-slap him. Sliding the ring on your middle finger, pleased when it's a perfect fit. Then, he does the same on his own and scrunches his nose in satisfaction.
"Perfect."
"I know."
He takes your hand back in his like before, and brings you into the kitchen. Identical rings brush against each other and the tattoos on your arms act like magical sigils to shield from anything that threatens to break through the personal bubble created by your joined hands.
"How did you figure out my ring size?"
"There are lots of opportunities because you don't fall asleep until some ungodly hour and happen to still be passed out when normal people awaken. So thanks for that."
You stick your tongue out at his snarkiness and receive a dollop of icing on it in return. "Mingyu makes amazing cakes!"
"So you knew about that too."
"Duh. And I know he'll be mad if you cut a piece."
"Two," Vernon deviously points out and places a plate down for himself.
It would be an absolute crime to not devour such a delicious treat, figuring it a waste to let it sit out instead. Making a gross noise of appreciation at the first bite, you couldn't wait to thank Mingyu later.
You get that opportunity the next morning as more and more friends from the day before tiptoe in one after the other per Seungkwan and Joshua's request. Quiet giggles and definite blackmail material when they sneak a peek into the kitchen to see you and Vernon fast asleep with your heads laying on the counter, limbs splayed all over the place and each other.
The two of you had chattered about everything, anything, and nothing at all. No words needed to be said even when a comfortable silence settled as the sun started to rise before both of your eyelids closed.
You were his best friend and he was yours. That was all that mattered. The strength of your bond meant that you were content just being in each other's thoughts, even at times you were far apart. Physical reminders like tattoos or rings were just the cherry on top of the cake that you had worked hard and spent years together on creating.
Speaking of cakes…
"My precious darling," Mingyu whisper-screeched from afar, "I knew you would be destroyed!"
He sighs, distraught, and Wonwoo pats him on the back. Their partner begins snickering when the tall man gingerly lifts up the new one he brought with shaking hands. "Good thing I made two!"

okay. im going to talk about the fnaf movie.
Tumblr media
SPOILERS UNDER READ MORE!!!
overall, i thought it was very good. somehow making a whole series of a video game condensed into 1.5 hrs is not something easy to do. i think with what they were working with, they executed it pretty well. costume design was superb, and the acting from josh hutcherson was amazing.
that being said, i did find some scenes didn't belong. for example the fort scene, though i'm sure many people have pointed that out already.
i felt like they were trying to tow the line between silly/cute and scary/suspenseful, but in my opinion i don't think they needed to do that? i think if they leaned in fully to the horror aspect it would have still been a very enjoyable experience.
the scenes with vanessa disappointed me, just a bit. it felt like she was only there to progress the story/exposition. and the fucking fort scene with her... in that scene, vanessa is like "oh freddy fazbears' is so fun yayayayay" and then literally in the next scene she's telling mike "if you ever come back here IM GOING TO SHOOT YOU" ???????????? like why? what did mike even do?
the old bf made an observation that william afton was just straight up not fleshed out, at least not as much as either one of us had hoped.
i personally think if they had just included like... a 5 minute scene of william afton on his killing spree (without outright showing william afton), it would have done alot for his character. i felt like he was just kind of thrown in there towards the end, which makes me sad bc william afton is such a unique character with sooo much backstory integral to the lore of fnaf, and it just felt like he was alluded to the whole movie? idk.
there were some questionable moments. it was funny how freddy literally just murders the aunt and no one even questions it? mike would have come home to a literal corpse in his house, how does he explain that to the police?
and it made me sad how little they showed of foxy. :( foxy is my all time favorite (i literally brought a giant stuffed foxy plush with me to the movie) and it felt like he was the most forgotten animatronic. bonnie seemed to be the main center of attention tbh, he was in almost every scene where the animatronics were. but it makes sense since scott cawthon thinks bonnie is the creepiest animatronic lol.
those are my main criticisms.
but i still loved it, very much so!
when the matpat cameo came on screen... it was a shocker. i gasped so loud. the people in the movie theater literally laughed at me lol bc i gasped SO LOUD, I COULDNT HELP IT i was so shocked. AND WHEN HE SAID ITS ONLY A THEORY???? i ate it up. idc if it's cheesy, I ATE IT UP.
also i thought it was cool that the movie is (i think but could be wrong) five nights long! a little easter egg that i thought was neat. the old bf pointed this out to me.
another nice touch is in the beginning of the movie when mike is reading that dream theory book. a good callback to matpat's dream theory on fnaf (you know the one). and it's also a good way to tie in what's currently happening to mike with his dreams in the movie.
i really appreciated the subtle little ways they tied in the movie with the games, like the little "it's me" in the mirror during the scene with mike in the security room. and foxy's humming!!!! i loved it i loved it i loved it! the little noises they used from the game made me so happy!
but yeah. i'll stop ranting bc i can go on forever lol. while it had it's flaws, i don't think they affected the overarching storyline.
this is it my gamers. eight years in the making, and this is the end result.

my score? 4 cupcakes out of 5. :>

( LOVE ISLAND )
warnings : none
a/n : this is going to be a series! lmk if there is anything you will want me to add. NOT PROOFREAD
summary : aj shabeel , a youtube star , goes on love island.
Tumblr media
aj wasn’t sure why he signed up for it, maybe for publicity or a really good holiday. he and the beta squad never watched love island, but one day nella had begun talking about this one girl, y/n.
after seeing pictures of her, aj was smitten. you were so sweet and innocent , he wanted to wrap you in his arms and protect you. but the other half of him wanted to ruin you.
he didn’t tell anyone he signed up for it, but when he got the email saying he was accepted as a one of the casa amor, he’d already had his bags packed ready to go.
obviously, the squad yelled at him for not telling them, but he didn’t care.
he was prepared to win your heart over.
eventually, the squad got over it and drove him to the airport wishing him good luck and said they’d be watching him on tv every night.
and they definitely did, making fun of every little thing he did.
you were coupled up with joshua, a sweet british boy. he wasn’t funny, but his looks made up for that. you had been coupled from the start but he was too shy to make a move with you.
while all the other couples were kissing and cuddling in bed, you two were giving side hugs and barley holding hands.
it wasn’t that you weren’t feeling it - josh just wasn’t for you. so when it came to go to casa amour, you were very excited to find a better match , and you hoped joshua did to.
aj came in with a ecstatic smile, hugging you the longest and giving you a longer kiss on the cheek, which paige noticed, giving you a knowing smile.
you all sat back down, aj sat next to you before billy could. holding up your drinks, everyone done a toast to casa amour and re-couplings.
AJ’S INTERVIEW
aj smiled towards the camera , “coming into casa, very excited to spend my time with all these beautiful ladies. but i only got my eye on one.” before he forgot he mentioned, “go and follow beta squad , sorry i ditched you brothers. gotta do what you gotta do.”
“wait so tell us your names.” you exclaimed, not sure who to look at.
the man on the end started, “my names samuel. i’m twenty two years old. i’m a model and content creator.”
“i’m george, i’m twenty three and i’m a labour.” the second guy went next.
the guy gemma knew introduced, “i’m billy, i’m twenty three and i pick up penguins at the zoo.”
all the girls cooed. you smiled, “that’s so cute.”
“my names jack, i’m twenty three, i’m from dublin.i work in social media.” the ginger boy went next.
the next boy raised his drink, “my names deji, i’m twenty five and i work in the accounts management.”
aj was next, smiling. “alright so i’m aj , i’m twenty five and i’m a youtuber.”
“oh my god, you’re in the beta squad.” paige gasped. “that’s where i recognised you from.”
“the what?” gemma turned to her confused, with a small laugh.
“it’s this content group with , like , millions of followers.” paige told her.
you smiled at him, “really? that’s cool. what kind of videos do you film?”
“mainly challenges and guess the person.” aj replied.
“nice. oh, sorry. what’s your name?” you turned to the last guy.
“my names josh, i’m twenty two. i’m a model from essex.” he told with a smile.
aj scowled silently, annoyed that your attention was now on josh rather than it being on him.
tasha asked the group, “do any of you have any times or anything?”
“for me it’s just like banter.” billy asked, making nearly everyone laugh.
well, everyone except aj. there was nothing funny about that.
billy continued, “if you not funny, it’s just not working. like for me , i just always have a joke i’m never not smiling. so if you’re not smiling , it ain’t gonna work.”
samuel spoke up, “what are your lots types?”
“i like a bit of a lads lads. someone that’s funny, can make me laugh.” gemma said first.
deji lent forward, “see itty-boy right there” he motioned to billy making everyone laugh.
aj watched you laugh, the way you lent forward slightly, your eyes closing. it was a beautiful sight.
gemma smiled, “i know billy, i feel like we have mutual friends.”
“alright, stir it up a bit.” billy laugh. you noticed the judging look gemma gave.
“personality wise, i like to go that’s funny ,very social and quite dominating , like manly about things - you know?”
“i want someone to match my energy.” danica started. “but then they need to keep me grounded, so i need the opposite though.”
you begin with a smile, “ i don’t really know, they just need to be funny and care about me.”
Y/N’S INTERVIEW
“it was really exciting going into casa. no one has caught my eye just yet but hopefully i will get on with someone as i don’t want to leave casa alone.” you said.
chapter two
