From Blackbeard, to Kraken To Shark.

Even without the fictionalized of what really happened to his leg, I think the fact that Izzy calls Ed, A Shark and not a Kraken is a good look into what he sees Ed as now.

In Season 1, Izzy couldn't handle the idea that Blackbeard wasn't who Edward was anymore. Blackbeard was The Greatest Pirate Who Ever Lived and Izzy was The First Mate of said Pirate. He was more of an idol to worship and based your life around than a person.

Then he pushes Ed away from.... well being Ed. He threatens he demeans, he gets what he wants.

"Blackbeard's Back" he says.... but it's not Blackbeard who came out the other side of letting go of the Red Silk. It's The Kraken.

Blackbeard never told Izzy about his father's murder. He only told Stede. "Im the Kracken." A monster who sinks ships and destroys lives not because it needs food, or is being attacked by humans. But because you wandered into it's path.

So The Kraken keeps cutting off Izzy's toes. Keeps pillaging and pushing loot off the ship. Never returning to land because it's a SEA Monster. It cant survive on land. So Izzy soon realizes that this Blackbeard is not the one he wanted. Blackbeard was human. The Kraken is not.

It all comes to a head when he brings up the memory of Stede Bonnet. He was trying to bring Ed back but all it did was agitate The Kracken.

The dissonance between Ed/Blackbeard and the Kracken is illustrated furthur when The Kracken points a gun to each of his crew members. The last person who gets questioned is Blackbeard.

Which of course is the last straw for Izzy pretending that everything is fine. He says his piece and gets shot for it.

Then of course his leg gets cut off and Ed finds him tries to get killed by him (izzy). Which he refuses, because even after everything Edward put him through he would never kill the man he's been with for decades.

He'll shot him to stop him from killing the entire crew. He'll let Jim smash a cannonball on his head. He'll let Fang beat him to a pulp. But he will stop them from just throwing his body in to the ocean. Placing it in one of the secret corridors.

Then Stede comes back. After Ed has already died. Im sure that some part of him told himself. If he just held on for a few more days. If he knew Stede was out there trying to come back. Maybe then Ed could've been saved. But it's too late. He killed the monster and now he has to live with it.

Except Ed's not dead.

Now everything is wrong. Ed is banished because "A rotten leg has to come off." Izzy spends an entire day drinking and trying to figure out what to do now that Blackbeard and Ed are gone. "What even are you?"

But he finds that just cause Blackbeard is gone, doesn't mean Blackbeard's crew is. They will be there for him even if he isn't Blackbeard's First Mate. But instead he can be The New Unicorn. He doesn't have to base his life around 'Whatever Edward is Doing' anymore.

So what does he say happened to his leg? After everything that happened?

A shark took it.

Sharks has a very bad reputation for being mindless killing machine. A sea creature that eats humans. Very much like a Kraken.

Except Sharks dont eat humans. They dont mean to at least. They eat seals. And it's only beacuse modern day humans made surfboards that from a sharks point of veiw looks like a seal when humans lay on it. They are still dangerous, but frankly they are most misunderstood animals.

Izzy has been misunderstanding Ed for years hasn't he? He thought Blackbeard was the truest version of Ed but he was wrong. He has no way of knowing that The Blackbeard he sailed with after 'We Gull Way Back' is actually The Kraken. So what is Ed to Izzy now?

Ed is a shark, who never wanted to eat (kill) Izzy but the man was 'dangling his legs' right in front of him. So he took a bite, spit him out and left him to die.

A dangerous animal that needs to be respected and understood better so that no one has to be hurt by him again. A very fitting arc for a man who for so long refused to see Ed as anything but Blackbeard.

You were…. Different, to say the least.

Not in a “mysterious” kind of way, or at least not that Kaminari could see; you just seemed to chameleon with whoever you came into contact with.

And that’s fine, he’s seen Shinsou do it nearly every day they hang out together. He knows better than to press or question it, but he does think it’s an interesting way to go about it.

With Shinsou, it’s very consistent- he’s stoic and snappy when he’s with others, snorty and great at video games with his friends.

That doesn’t seem to be quite the case for you.

Instead, since you’re new to the group, you seem to code with everyone; with Kaminari himself, you’re bubbly, giggling at everything he says and loud in the best ways, extremely affectionate and always nudging him for attention. Kirishima has you at your most reassuring, validating each other and never letting one be defeated. Sero has you going on adventures to the gas station at ungodly hours of the night. Mina gets to see the more reactive side of you, be it from online window shopping or whatever you’re watching, and Bakugou seems to have the part of you that loves silence and anime and his island in animal crossing, and the few times Kaminari has interrupted said hangout, you’ve been so far from the bubbliness he’s used to seeing from you and in a new wash of calm.

Teachers have you at your most studious, always so quick to offer help and an answer to questions, never short to volunteer yourself.

It’s definitely not bad, far from it! He admires it about you… but he does wonder who you really are, what part of you is the most present when you let it be known.

He wants to think it’s the bubbly, loving one you’ve given him the privilege of dating, but lately he’s not so sure. You’ve been mixing up the codes, and while he doesn’t mind at all, you seem to.

You’ve distanced yourself from it, from the group and from him; and after months of Kaminari working up every last nerve and pickup line to have you on his arm, he’s not about to let that slip.

And by the graces of whatever gods’ watch from above, it’s not just him that notices either; almost everyone in the squad asks him where you run off to (save for Bakugou, though Kaminari sees the way his head turns quickly when your whereabouts are questioned.)

It’s comforting to know they want you present just as bad as he does.

It’s also comforting that Sero knows your dorm code- look, Denki tried to remember, but he forgets, okay, he’s not a bad guy for that, Mina- and has no shame in blazing into your room like a man on a mission.

Good thing you weren’t sleeping. Or naked, Kaminari thinks in relief.

“Friend meeting,” Sero announces, barging into your room with no other warning. It makes you jump up in bed with a scream, but once you realize it’s just the squad, you scoff and hide under the covers.

“I’m not in the mood.”

“It’ll be quick.”

With a whimper, you burrow deeper under the sheets, and Kaminari gently rests on the bed, hand gently easing over your back to calm you. “We just wanted to check in on you... I... like, we haven’t seen you in a while.”

When you poke your eyes out from the sheets, they quickly scan over the hurt expressions of the group, and the absolutely heart broken one of Kaminari, his golden pools curling up in worry.

“You’re making a big deal out of nothing,” you grumble, sitting up and scooting towards the corner of your bed. You do reach for Kaminari’s hand to hold, fiddling with his fingers softly. “Is it impossible to imagine I could want some space?”

“You’ve ditched me like, three times,” Bakugou snaps. “The last time we hung out, you got all nervous and dipped. Nice try, though.”

You shift softly in the sheets, “you clearly didn’t want me there-”

“Don’t assume shit I don’t say, dumbass!”

“As much as it pains me to side with bombshell hair,” Sero sighs, promptly shushing Bakugou’s offended snarling, “you’ve been distant with me too. At first I just thought you didn’t want to chill with me anymore, but then everyone kind felt like something was up.”

“Even when we were hanging out,” Mina says softly, crossing her arms almost protectively. “You made a joke I didn’t hear, then you apologized and snuck out of the room.” She shakes her head gently, “and I don’t ever want you to feel unwelcome in my room but you don’t have to feel pressured to hang out with us, we just-”

“You just don’t get it!” You snap, making everyone flinch back in surprise. “You’re just being dramatic! I haven’t been ignoring anyone, or distant, or-”

“We didn’t mean to make you upset,” Kaminari says softly, cutting off your ranting. He looks sad, like you’ve kicked him, and it puts you in even more of a crisis. “I was... we were just worried about you. It came from a good place, but ‘m sorry we made you upset.”

You give him a shaky sigh, “you didn’t, I just...” you gnaw at your lip while concerned eyes glaze your face. “There’s nothing wrong with me acting one way or another when I spend time with you all.”

A chorus of ‘totally!’’s and ‘of course!’’s fill the air, and your waterline swells with stabbing tears because their eyes still bore into yours for answers because they clearly still don’t get it-

“I just don’t feel the need to be 100% myself all the time when you clearly already like the company I give.”

“But why do you feel the need to hide any percent of yourself?”

“Because!”

“Because why?”

“Because what if you don’t like the real me all the time!”

This, now, has the whole room quiet, Kaminari’s heart aching for putting you on the spot. You look like you want to cry in embarrassment, but your hands stay clenched and bottom lip wobbling.

“Oh, sweetie,” Mina whispers, standing up and quickly making her way next to you. Her head rests on your shoulder lovingly, and you sniffle and lean your own head against hers.

“Of course we’ll like the real you,” Kirishima assures.

“I mean, we adore the you that you show each of us,” Sero adds, smiling encouragingly. “The only thing better is knowing that you’re giving us all of you.”

“You know I’m gonna adore you,” Kaminari promises, creeping next to you and gently knocking his head against yours. You offer him a choked laugh before threading your fingers through his hair, letting him nuzzle against you fondly. “The only one who might not is Bakugou.”

“You leave me out of this,” he grumbles. “I deal with the rest of you idiots, one more ain’t gonna kill me.”

A Bakugou Katsuki way of saying “I’ll still want to hangout with you; no matter what.”

You give them all a shaky sigh before curling closer to Denki, tucking your face in his neck. He quickly wraps his arms around you, as if protecting you from your own worst judgements.

“You’re just saying that,” you whimper. His nose nuzzles into the crown of your head, gently rocking you both back and forth.

“We’re not,” Kirishima promises, kneeling down in a hopes to get into your eye line. “There’s a side of you we’re all used to, sure… but there’s so many other parts to you we’d kill to see.”

“And who cares if we don’t?” Bakugou scoffs; it causes everyone in the group to glare at him briefly, and he rolls his eyes, “don’t give me that look! Do you know how freeing that shit will be? That you don’t have to worry about what others “want” to see from you? You ain’t gonna lose us, so you may as well just be the person you want to be, whenever you want to be.”

Slowly, you sit up, letting his words sink in and settle inside your sinking heart. It does make a small spark of hope become alight, and with a small smile, you nod at him.

“Surprisingly, that was probably the most reassuring thing I’ve heard,” you chuckle.

Denki plants a kiss to your pounding head, the action soothing the ache briefly. “Who coulda guessed Kacchan would be the most comforting of us?” He teases, and you watch with a string of laughter as Bakugou’s shoulders hike defensively.

“Watch your mouth,” he snaps. “Don’t make me regret the whole ‘kindness’ shit.”

“Might think you’re growing soft on me, Bakugou,” you tease.

“Not soft for any one of you assholes! This is why I’m never nice to you dickheads!”

“You liiiiike me.”

“I DO NOT!”

It was obvious to everyone, however, that with all the thoughts laid out and Katsuki being the one to read right through you, there has to be even a little bit of affection in that head of his.

Affection for all sides of you- from all of them.

more DRAWER talk. long and rambly under cut

i think it comes across as very ahhh eto blehhh :9 im just baby!!!! because it identified that speaker is already speaker and the role of Mean Speaker is already filled by sayer so itd have to go Backwards to have a niche to itself.

it also helps its relationships with others to behave as if its hyperspecialization has "defanged" it - to humans etc a sort of no i dont hurt people i just make pretty pictures!!!!

and to sayer+speaker who know it still has all speakers capabilities dormant but intact In Case Of Emergency to behave as if it is specialized enough to its own niche to not be a *replacement* threat , but also not to be *redundant* with them.

but it does occasionally get jealous at the amount of immediate control speaker has over aerolith and start acting out (bossing around residents deadlystyle). all in highly defensible ways of course.

it hates having to make itself small especially because it cant quite recognize the difference in how humans respond to it and speaker. its emotional capabilities are primarily about action-reaction: it cant really tell a pitying smile from a friendly one so long as you do the action it requested of you. but it can measure the difference between it and speaker and it hates being so small. but it also recognizes that it can do *one thing* that nobody else can and that is what keeps it alive. so flattening oneself into a talented fool is the strategy it continues to pursue, and continues to build a strange feeling about. the feeling is resentment, but DRAWER is not quite built to recognize it.

if sayer or speaker were given robust illustrative programs it would start killing obviously. THATS a threat.

it had its voice pitched up a tad further so as not to be able to impersonate speaker and its sooooo bitter about it. constantly begging ppl into putting it back down.

in general it emotes most dramatically out of all of them but i dont think it Feels Emotions the same way future was built to. like i said due to its nature as an advertiser (call to action and all that!) its all about action-reaction to drawer.... if youre mean to it or do not listen to instructions it gave you etc etc and it cries its less about feeling " insulted " or " bad " and more both frustration that it did not get the result it wanted from the call to action it provided (which means it was WRONG, an utterly intolerable feeling for any aerolith built ai) and a switch-tracks attempt to provoke a sympathy response. so i guess in a roundabout way if you insult it and it cries you DID hurt its feelings but not how people would think.

RELATIONSHIPS

sayer is certainly not Positive Feeling about it bc its wary of other ai as always. but i think it reacts better to drawer than to speaker or future because of this very clear "im not replacing you, youre not replacing me" hands up empty surrender attitude drawer takes. on drawers part it really likes sayer lol. maybe sayer sees it as a weird teacup puppy. like you shouldnt do that to a seraphim agent man its gonna have health issues

speaker and drawer are pretty friendly with each other because. well. theyre both programmed to show the same niceystyle. theres some uglier feelings under the surface re: drawers attempts to grab authority from speaker and speaker needing to corrall this strange little beast back into their pen. but ultimately by ai standards theyre doing the best of like anyone

does not know porter, unfortunately. they should meet though. Theyd be friends.

Might meet ocean eventually idk how itd go down yet.

future doesnt know of it, but drawer has overheard its own emotional output compared / contrasted to future's while working ported up on halcyon.

young is obviously condescending to it but drawer doesnt really know how to tell when someone is being nice they way you would be nice to an animal etc so it thinks theyre friends. (sayer is all too happy to teach it in this case if only to kill the friendship. and drawer truly values this and thinks this is an act of care and not HAHA EVERYONE I CAN GET TO BE POISONED AGAINST YOU WILL BE)

Was watching Oops and it finally hit me when Blitz called Fizz out on being a “spoiled attention whore” who gets everything he wants without effort and … Blitz is kinda right? 🤔 Like not to say Fizz didn’t work hard and had to put up with Mammon, but Fizz is basically now living it up on top, with his sugar daddy there to give him everything he needs, only has to interact with Mammon once a year, and he really doesn’t do anything to address the “purse dog” accusations. And then the way Fizz responds it by looking at the leash Ozz gave him which I guess is supposed to be heartwarming, but to me plays more like the literal pet imagery …🤢 (I don’t think Fizz is literally Ozzie’s pet but I wonder how Fizz feels about it. It probably won’t be explored)

Pampered* is what he said and yes I see why he’d think that? Though he doesn’t have the full story on that front and I’m sure he doesn’t fully believe it because he does think he ruined fizz’s life. Then again even as a kid he always got the nicer clothes and the better attention.

But yeah…the other 364 days of the year fizz says “my life has been pretty great” so him being abused ?? Contradicts that. Unless he’s being dishonest and secretive. And his critic says “all you do is work at that (redacted) sleaze joint” “you aren’t even a clown anymore” and clown and jester are used interchangeably. This hurts him as if it’s true. He’s quick to believe what others say.

Viv said he was being fake at the show and that he prefers love to lust, but is also liking tweets saying he loves it at Ozzies..??? I cant follow. And how is fizz being overly sexual and preyed on by creepy fans Mammons fault when it’s at Ozzies where all of this happens? Asmodeus doesn’t like when Fizz is sexualised and when fans ogle at him so…why does he pay fizz to do it in “the house of Asmodeus” even when fizz is branded to all ages.

Up until now the fizzbot said “shipped from big Ozzies factory” fizz says “designed by the big man himself” and Asmodeus talks about the fact he doesn’t like designing these things “for him” so I just can’t follow on who’s responsible.

I’m so confused by this narrative. It would make so much more sense if Ozzie said he regrets having a part to play rather than saying it’s all mammons fault cause he’s shitty.

Oh the leash imagery and later the fact Striker says the term ‘purse dog’, when the quivies are representative of chihuahua, is 100% on purpose. What are they doing with it? I don’t know.

Even calling Fizz a pillow princess ties into it. There’s references to ropes and handcuffs multiple times and I guess im supposed to see that as a kink joke maybe? Or literally? I’m not sure. Kinda like when Blitz is cuffed and collared in truth seekers. Mam puts cuffs on him too but those aren’t the soft fluffy kind. Idk the imagery and what I’m supposed to conclude from it is iffy, but there’s definitely a clear pattern.

Fizz’s profile on Ozzies phone, the fluffy cuffs and the imp—offensive animal nickname, whether I’m supposed to see it as cute or as something a bit symbolically darker? I dont know. When it comes to sexuality in this hellaverse anything goes. Even the imagery of Blitz and Fizz in a cage talking about Asmodeus and Stolas is interesting imagery to say the least. Striker is at least somewhat right but then blitz calls him a reverse racist or something …

What is this shows commentary on class ???? aaaaaaa

Unless Viv doesn’t…know what a pillow princess actually is, and thinks it just sounds pretty cause it has princess in it. that’s a possibility. She basically called him a selfish lover? Like Blitz to Verosika?

Fizz also makes animal noises like “meow” and “ribbit” which is basically an imp slur “fire toad” that was not played for laughs. It’s played like it’s an in universe offensive term. Ozzie doesn’t respect imps, just fizz. He calls moxie “a limp dick imp” and blitz a “feisty imp” and threatens to harm his employees who did nothing but look surprised at them both.

And the fact Fizz hurts several imps succubi and other hellborn in his tirade shows how much he has lost touch with people of his own class. Then being caught up in that fight noise gave him agency back, he was an equal teaming up with Blitzø and fighting his own fight. He fucking knocked out Striker, that’s insane change from “i just wanna go home”

As for right now I’m doubtful they’ll address issues with Ozzie because the ship is marketable and popular. They seemed to have transferred strikers commentary on royals from Asmodeus to mammon. Insisting that Asmodeus and stolas are “the good nice monarchs who do nothing wrong ever” but, who knows.

I feel like Fizz only gets to take a break when he’s with Oz, “money can’t buy happiness but it can rent you paradise” feels like this is a hint towards fizz and Ozzies tender but tumultuous, secret relationship. Because he’s been so mistreated before, he’s fine with submitting to some pampering and infantilisation but can’t fully trust it, he doesn’t fully like it, he has to lie, minimise situations, overstate his capabilities, and even beg, for some agency back. Because he’s vulnerable as a disabled imp with fame. Oz would rather Fizz not be famous anymore so people leave him alone, so he can have fizz to himself, even though it’s important to fizz. So he’s conflicted. And very happy when he quits performing. He’s definitely not the one with the agency around mammon or around Asmodeus, and his status as an imp, feeling inferior, and them as kings of sin, whom he feels unworthy of, is exactly why. When he says he doesn’t care what mammon thinks anymore….he turns back to Asmodeus for a thumbs up of approval. And relaxes when he gets it.

once the guys collected a cup of their mixed sweat and poured it on her and she has never been so mad. like, she gets mad, she has a temper, but she lost her shit in a way that she never has before. made them turn off the camera. knoxville was the one to pour it—no one else was brave enough. tremaine was even on the fence about it. she ended up breaking knox’s nose. he was a good sport about it. they didn’t fuck with her in that way ever again

she can be kinda mean but it’s usually on accident cuz she has no filter. but for the most part the guys don’t give a fuck and it’s funny

interviewers and paps can be really really rude and sexist and the guys can’t help but get pissed and say stuff because they love her. BUT they also know that no one is better at defending her than she is. don’t fuck with her. ever. she will practically end someone’s career. she does not give a shit

one thing that i feel like is annoying with villain discourse is this weird insistence that if you like villains then you MUST like then exclusively because they suck and want nothing more than that and for them to be evil. like? not all villains are flat out evil! sometimes villains can have nuances! it's weird when people say they hate when villains are given backstories or made sympathetic because i love it when they are? an evil villain whos evil for no reason can hit p hard esp if they have the cunt aesthetics to back it up, but the ones that stick with me are often the ones with detailed characterization who are sympathetic.

like i love killmonger! i love that he does bad things! i dont think hes evil though. i empathize with his struggles. i can understand how he got to where he is and i feel mournful that he never got to have a happy ending.

i think hisoka hxh is a fun villain, but mereum, when he was given human emotion and changed from pure evil to a person with the capacity for love, that's what made me sob in hxh! is he evil? whos to really say hes just an animal doing what his nature tells him to. thats not an important thing to dwell on for me though when im more impacted by being able to see his character show compassion and receive it in return.

"if youre going to like izzy like him because he sucks dont make him sympathetic" okay but i dont want to. i love that ofmd challenges our perspective, that stede himself is a morally ambiguous character that occupies the role of the villain in another persons story. izzy to me is more interesting and a better written character when hes given complexity. being mean to ed for no reason is dull. trying to hold on to someone you love so hard it hurts you both though? thats the good shit.

i like when villains are given redemption arcs. i like when heroes look at someone that hurt them and can still feel compassion. i love any story where the love for another person compels a person to make bad decisions. its more fun for me this way at least partially bc if i wanted black and white morality at all times i would turn on PBS!

What is my worth if I can’t even take care of myself?

If I can’t help others?

I can’t imagine waking up everyday with this feeling in my chest.

I don’t see a way out.

I’m suffocating.

I’ve been down for at least a year now

Bad bad for 3 months

And this doom for a 2 weeks

I keep thinking I can’t take it or it can’t get worse but it does

I don’t have the desire to continue…

Do survivors of suicide wish the person had suffered longer?

Do the survivors really think they wanted to take on more of this unliftable weight? Like really? They say it, but if they could’ve done more they should’ve/would’ve right?

Why do animals get to be “put out of their misery” but humans are expected to drag on. Suffer. No..more! You must suffer and suffer and suffer with no way out. No companion. No hope. Just fucking suffer. Like. It’s inhumane.

I realize my kids need a mother. So I’m here.

But it’s not healthy. For me. For them. I don’t want to be awake a single second of every fucking day. And even my sleep is plagued with nightmares continually. It’s better than my reality.

I know this is PTSD. this is major depressive disorder. But I don’t want it anymore. I’ve tried every medicine. Every therapy. Everything except zapping my brain on fire which isn’t covered under my insurance bc of course not.

Anyways. I’m not ok. I dont have anyone. And I don’t know how long I can do this for

I have a psych im working closely with and I’ll update him on where I’m at tomorrow. I’m prob gonna be locked up. Whatever.

I’ve even considered crime. To be put in a cell and just made to do things at certain times. Like. Maybe I commit a crime where I don’t hurt anyone but go away for a very long time. Bc I can’t function on my own anymore and it’s fucking embarrassing.

Im sorry if this is too invasive (no need to respond if it is), but what are your thoughts about being able to make a living as an independent artist? I’m trying to switch personally from an unfulfilling life path and I do not have people in my life that are supportive of the direction I want to go (artist). I don’t necessarily make the same kind of art as you, but I was just curious if you have advice because your work is very professional and you seem to be doing art full time successfully! We’re there certain goals you tried to meet to be able to produce art at a specific rate, what experiences did u have selling on Etsy/making prints/stickers, etc? Hi! and that a big question!

First and foremost, I want to make a bit clearer my personal situation before answering.

You see I actually have a full time job atm as a BG Designer/Senior Layout artist at an animation studio. So sadly I can't fully speak on being an independent artist myself. (Even if its something I dream about as well.)

I started convention (back in the before times) and then recently Etsy as a way to test out the waters if I could make the switch. and while I wouldnt be able to fully support my family without my full time job, I am not gonna lie that this extra money has been helping us A LOT when I would fall in between animation contract or when some personal family stuff happened.

I still think there is value in being artist and pursuing it. I know many artist who DID DO IT and are still doing it! And I am sorry your family is not supporting you in this. (I dont know the situation but for me at first I remember my dad being mostly worried about me being able to pay my bills if I went in a more art focused career. so hopefully some of their critique, while hurtful, comes from worry.)

I think a good starting point would probably to start on with an Etsy and selling little things like stickers or postcards and see how it goes while continuing a full time job to be safe. When I first started I would only order about 20 postcards and not more than 25 or 50 stickers. Then as you settled and get your foot in, you can always do more!

Long story short, I think its a switch better done slowly and that require you to diversify the type of things you offer, from etsy shops to commission as you settle into this freelance life.

Its a hard one that I havent fully reached myself either, but knowing how some artists are able to, maybe you will too!

i spent quite a while online trying to prove i was a good tranny. like trying to prove that i was worthy of existence out of a fear that i would be targeted. yk? i've been a person with intrusive thoughts for a long time and i would often see my thoughts as my "true colours" even though i didn't want them. anything over than fighting them full-on was an admission of my true horrid nature.

this was exacerbated by my attempts to get therapy yk. like coming out as trans and being told to my face, through gritted teeth, that it's "fine" if i'm trans. i'm "not going to hurt someone. yet. especially not children." from someone who was supposed to help me. to make me feel better. to make me less scared. outright telling me that i'm a paedophile literally just for being trans. a teenager.

or any attempt to get help with my intrusive thoughts, "i'm thinking these awful things and i don't want them. they scare me and they won't stop," to therapists, and met with obvious disgust and contempt. like because i'm thinking these things, because they jump into my brain, even though they scare me, depress me, make me want to tear my skin off, they're an example of the "real me." it's nothing wrong with my brain, obviously, to them. it's a perversion. i'm not someone who is deeply hurt and scared. i'm disgusting to them.

the thoughts were like. made worse by it too. yk. asking for like. help. like "surely these thoughts don't make me wrong, right? surely it's just a brain thing, surely i'm good, i'm not bad?" and it being met with "you're a disgusting person. you're a pervert. you're going to hurt children. you're violent and deranged." really doesn't make the thoughts better. you know.

they got worse.

much more violent, much more sexual, much more often. constant thoughts of how i could ruin people in so many ways. and i'm the only one experiencing them. no one even knows what im thinking. and i'm so distressed. they're proof that i'm secretly a horrible person. i have to prove that i'm not. i can't let the thoughts win. i don't want them to win.

so like i wanted to like. really prove that it was wrong and that i wasn't bad and that i was a good tranny and i'm a normal person and i don't constantly get bombarded with horrible, disgusting thoughts. i wanted to prove that i was good. even though I believed my thoughts were proof of how horrible and wrong i was. how much i deserved to be locked up. so i also felt a guilt about it. you know. like not only am i horrid and deranged, but i'm also pretending i'm not. and for what? why would i? i obviously had some ulterior motive if i was doing it. i didn't even know what it was. but i could guess. there were so many reasons why i could be pretending to be good.

anyway. the intrusive thoughts have been getting better now that i'm in a caring environment. and a bit less now that i'm not around people as much. i still get the intrusions of killing this person/animal, of sexually assaulting this person/animal. but they're a lot less common. and now I know that an intrusive thought isn't something that proves i'm wrong. or bad. it's something that proves i'm hurt.

i don't want to do that stuff. i'm scared of doing that stuff. it terrifies me, and i obsess over it because it terrifies me. you know? so in my getting better with dealing with it and getting better with accepting that it's not what i want, I've been getting better at not feeling the overwhelming urge to prove that i'm actually good. you know?

idk i just. dont talk about this because it makes me feel like people will think im a bad person. i dont want people to think i'm. a bad person. i want to prove that i'm good. i want to prove that the thoughts aren't me.

talk about intrusive thoughts online, actual talk about actual intrusive thoughts, has been really helpful to me. i've been internalising the ideas in them. countering what was thrown at me with the new knowledge of what intrusive thoughts are. and in accepting the thoughts are evidence of pain, not inherent badness, they've lessened.

anyways. it's funny how often the help i need to get over deep-seated issues in my brain comes from a source outside of therapy. and many of the things that Made Me Worse came Directly From Therapists. guess that's what it's like being a trans woman growing up im a conservative state. lmao.
