Exactly! A lot of things influence the way people come up with ideas, this is such a complex thing, of course not everything is going to cater to everyone – this is simply impossible. Picking and choosing and reading stuff that interests you while avoiding things that annoy or hurt you is always the way to go.

Oh, that’s a fun question. I feel like Idia would be the only one, and he would also probably have this excuse/explanation, like he really isn’t into BL, but this particular work is just very good, it has great art style, good writing + Idia’s favourite artist was influenced by this manga/series of doujins, so of course he had to get it, this is an important otaku artifact! And OF COURSE it’s paper, that’s the whole point! Even if it’s smutty, it’s art!

Ortho could start getting into BL himself; he would start by reading this one manga that Idia owns lol Idia was sure he’d hidden it well.

The rest of the cast strike me as normies… but hey, Lilia could have some! If he has any manga at all, I can imagine him owning a BL book just ‘cause. But since he probably bought it years ago when he was traveling around the TWST equivalent of Japan, it might be a bit outdated lol And probably a little cursed, which is why Lilia got so into this book back then.

Not a valhoun shipper personally (nothin' wrong with it, just not for me) but I am curious as to why it appeals to you and so many others? Ofc you don't need to answer this, i understand its probably a little disquieting to have a stranger enter your inbox to ask you about a ship you like, but as someone who doesn't ship it who also likes exploring and understanding why some people may, I am curious.

actually i really enjoy questions like this so i will try to answer in a way that makes sense?

i originally started shipping valhoun because i was 1.) tired of Freehoun and 2.) honestly I don't care for gordon as a character. He is meant to be a blank sheet for people to project onto. but I never found any interest in doing so. and 3.) I loved the idea of alyx and Barney having a platonic relationship and me oh my do I love a good friend-to-lovers trope

the other reason I shipped it was because most of the way I paired up barney and alyx was based on my relationship with my ex-girlfriend. I projected onto barney ALOT and drawing valhoun was a way to understand my feelings about that relationship and express it visually.

I find a lot of interest in complicated shipping relationships. Alyx and barney are both people who got their early lives fucked up. Barney loses his 20's and alyx loses her childhood. Both of them being around war and ya know, the earth being destroyed and having similar trauma as well from that. But also and this comes in with my own hc. Barney is someone who grew up in the 90's and also like a semi-military environment, something that probably had a lot of conservativism and things like more old-fashioned values, and alyx who had none of those because she grew up after society had collapsed. I think there's a lot of nuance for how two people like that would navigate a relationship, especially a romantic one.

I could go into alot more detail about how needlessly in-depth i have thought about the aspects of their relationship but ill spare you from my rambles.

I mean I can't speak for the few other people who ship it but i think overall it is just an interesting ship? that has a lot of uniqueness that departs from what is usually seen in freemance or freehoun

You are the embodiment of a kind person... and Murdocs..... a satanic piece of shit gremlin with anger issues

So to say everyone- including Murdoc himself was quite surprised

The band won't let him live down the fact you two are so different

They tease him a lot, but other then that that band absolutely adores S/O

2D has straight up asked you why would you 'date 'an asshole like Murdoc', it was very blut though there was no ill will behind it

Murdoc will Call you the normal nick names such a 'dove, babe, love, ect..' but he will most likly call you a bit more sweet things- in private obviously, but this often happens if he's ih a more sensitive state-

Whether that be when he's drunk, high, hung over, ect... he'll just tend to be a bit loving- his voice is almost tender

And he'll use pet names like 'babydoll, sugar, cutie, my star, sweetie, the occasional babycake's', but Murdoc could use those in a very teasing way too if S/O is the kind of person who tends to get flustered

"*hic* ya'know, I'ma start... *hic* call'en ya cavity..." Murdoc said sluring his words

"What, why?"

"*drunken giggle* Cuz' yer so cute *hic* dat'cha rot my teeth... heh.."

S/O looks so different when standing next to Murdoc that some people find it concerning

When out in public with each other at night(ie. Murdoc draged you to a bar with him), there has been at least one case of someone coming up to you in concern for S/O's wellbeing, thinking Murdoc was some creep following S/O, or the every so often waitress or waitor asking if you are ok, when you and Mudz are out on a date

Murdoc gets really pissed when this happens, so S/O will have to call him down

With pastel and bright clothes you gonna want to not leave them around Murdocs room/Winnebago because that shit will be stained to high hell(even if you need a black light to see the stains), and those stains will never come out, so be reaaally careful

He doesn't really understand why you like pastel & bright clothes or makeup- but he definitely thinks you look good in it so he won't complain- as long as you don't try and put any of that on him(at least in public)-

Listen hun, Murdoc has a reputation to uphold!- Murdoc would often repeat variants of that

"SSSZZ-SSTOOWWWPPHhhu- *hmph* I have a reputation- and YOU-" Murdocs points an accusatory finger at S/O "-Fuck'in... leav'en damn stupid... neon fuk'en PINK lipstick marks.. on MY damn FACE... BEFORE A DAMN SHOW..isn't help'in..."

"Why'dya got'a go'in be so damn cute... yer stupid 'KinDNeSs' making me look... ugh nice..."

S/O when their in the later phases and later in the relationship- S/O definitely made Murdoc more nice but only really around S/O- don't get me wrong when S/O's gone Mudz still a complete ass

But he tends to be more chilled out, Murdy once he got close to S/O, he really wanted her to like him- but this isn't uncommon with Murdoc getting scared his shitty behavior is gonna scare a person he genuinely cares about away

He's in complete denial about going any for of soft, and he just ends up acting like a piss baby-

"Wha'dya mean I'm go'in soft!?!" Murdoc said pulling away from S/O

"Babe. You're wearing the *insert random pastel themed character* shirt I got you..."

"...I-...I had nut'en else to wear.." Murdoc tutned away with a huff

"You walk around shirtless and in your underwear all the time- what changed?"

"...ShutUp-!..."

"..Damn face ache..." Mudz slammed the door with a a groan, clearly agitated

"You ok dear?"

Murdoc turned to you and pouted like a bitter old man "Face Ache said I was going soft!!! Can ya believe that fuck'en nob!"

He's overall very bitter and sour about going soft, so don't tease him to much unless you want his grumpy-ness to turn into full blown anger

Murdoc like to send S/O pictures of things that remind him of her/her style

This is most often pictures of clothes, but it can maybe be a pic of a stuffy or somthing, these items are often pointed out by Noodle or even 2D

But when 2D talks about/points out things that remained him of S/O Mudz will most likely get jealous... and I think we can geuss how it usually goes from there..

Speaking of jealousy

Due to how nice and kind of a person S/O is to everyone, and how insecure Murdoc can be- he can get jealous pretty easy depending on the situation

And no it's not a 'ohh ahh, he's protective and loving' jealousy- no he's an insecure angry goblin man- only getting petty and aggressive, just sit him down and have a talk, he just needs some reassurance

To add to S/O dressing up Murdy. Murdoc refuses to match outfits, he refuses to let you do his makeup... or take pictures of it to show it to people at least..

Like my last statement implies Murdoc has let her do his makeup before, S/O just can't take pictures to show it around to people- tho this doesn't mean you can't take pictures at all

Because you can and you do, S/O has so many pictures of Murdoc in a skirt, or a full face of makeup, etc... and there all adorable even if Murdoc is pissed in all of them

Murdoc refuses to match your style or do any of the dressing up thing in public, or let any of it go out into public. He is stubborn and this is a big boundary for him, so please respect this.

This doesn't just apply to appearances, but just his stuff in general, so no cute neon stickers on things, or cutesy decorations without his permission. Murdoc stands firm on his decision so don't push to much he will get really agitated, and it might lead to a fight- like I said his stubbornness is off the chart.

Murdoc teases S/O quite a bit especially at the beginning of the relationship, and especially if its in earlier phases-

It's how he copes with nice people, Murdy isn't use to people being nice

Murdoc grew up with assholes, he was raised to be an asshole, and he was raised in a way to basically see kindness to be a form of weakness.

So him being shown kindness from this goddess, in response he freaks out a bit and just get really teasy out of defense at first

And knowing him, he might say some upseting things. So S/O has to walk very carefully around early phase Mudz or just a bit early in the relationship

Murdocs sweetheart of a girlfriend is gonna have to break down some walls, and honestly this applys to all and any relationship with Mudz- theres always a few walls to get through

But with any initial kindness there will be some extra defense put up by Murdoc

(I wanna talk about phaze 7 Mudz specifically for a second, so like spoiler warning I guess? )

Murdoc is firm on the fact what he is wearing isn't a dress- we all know what I'm referring to!

That thing he wears in the Cracker Island music video.

He referres to it by whatever it's actually name is(again I don't know, I'll edit it when I figure it out) or he calls them PJ's. He has referred to it dress like but never a girly dress like somthing S/O would wear- and he gets pissy if anyone goes around calling it that. Though in the passed Murdoc has probably worn a dress before.

(Ok weird tangent over, back to just general Murdoc)

Despite hating it when S/O does his makeup or dressing him up- Murdoc does love picking her clothes out and has more then once done S/O's makeup- and he isn't the greatest at first but he does eventually learn how to apply eyeliner without impaling your eyes

Murdoc while is proud of his work- will not stop laughing at how she looks after he's done S/O's makeup

Murdoc 100% underestimates S/O, he thinks S/O is one of the most pure things ever and he wants to mess that up ;)

JK- I'm just joking... particularly...

Anyway!-

He just kinda sees S/O as a bit of a childish innocent person who's oblivious to the world- like how else could you be so happy?

If S/O really is that innocent than good luck, becuase that sure as hell isn't gonna 100% last if she wants to stay with this Satanist

But if you arn't as innocent well then it's quite a pleasant surprise to Murdoc

It's up to you to determine how you want Murdoc to figure out S/O's lack of innocence but here are some examples

1. Murdoc used a horribly raunchy and crapy pickup line on S/O and she retorted back with her own, this left Murdoc flustered and stunned before he played it off pretty well. Mudz jokes about this later on because he finds this situation funny

2. Murdoc whilst pissed said some unsavory things, and S/O responds in a way that shows she understood what he just said, and Murdoc depending on how bad what he said was would either laugh it off or he would immediately choke on his own spit, then awkwardly defend himself

3. Very similar 1 but Murdoc made a dirty or just inappropriate joke and S/O expressed they understood and Murdoc would just burst out laughing

Just a few ideas- but it's up to you

But once Murdy finds out, him being the dirty little man he is- he's gonna tease you about it. Mudz sometimes mockingly treats you like a kid- with all good intentions of course

Either way innocent or not S/O is just as appealing- just in different ways

hiii!! offering my 2 cents on the subject of "old man". younger generations in general use it very loosely but it's without ill intent, rather it's coming from a perspective of "that man (dilf) is so hot i need them but i could never because they'd see me as a child so i gotta call them old instead". like they're out of my league but i'll blame it on the age difference you know?

and in destiel's case i believe it's affectionate, they're old compared to most queer couples represented and they're getting older together and it's hopeful to see that :)

okay i actually have a lot of thoughts about this topic and i really hope i won't sound rude but i just want to talk about it for a sec here. and below will be purely my own musings which probably won't coincide with a general fandom views on the matter and it's wider than this question and destiel but well

anyway

i totally get what you're saying about younger fans calling them old because they're too young for them but still hot etc etc. i know that's not some ill intent, clearly. however, what bothers me about the question of 'old' age in fandom spaces is this - for some 'old' starts somewhere around 35+ and they mean it (i wonder what they call a 50 yo? a corpse probably). and yeah of course for 16 yo 35 is twice their age but i wouldn't have even the slightest problem with it because i've been in fandom spaces since i was maybe 14 and stumbled upon people of different ages and backgrounds and we can all coexist quite fine. but what i see now (and maybe again, that's like a recurring generational thing, i don't know, i'm not that old and i wasn't in english spaces until i got at least 18-20 so) - those younger fans repeatedly saying 'you're 30 and in fandom? get out. go find some appropriate hobbies for your age group, like fishing hehe'. like it's fine to be horny over some dudes twice (or even more) your age, but people who in reality are not even that far from you, because usually it's 20 somethings who write such things - and it's a crime. you're suddenly gross. i wonder what those kids would do without all the stuff written, drawn and giffed by those who have a child on one hand, a full time job on the other, and their age appropriate hobbies in between. like when i was a tiny fan i was like 'holy shit that person somehow found a way to update that long ass sherlock fic while being neck deep in her family things and work i wanna be like them!" and it also gave me hope about the future of my fandom life. like age shouldn't matter. but now i see this shit, the whole 'more than 3 yo age difference is pedo' talk, 'adult creators shouldn't post anything because children can see' talk etc etc. and i know, of course, that that's the general internet censorship on the rise and neopuritanism is dancing tango with it but still.

what i'm saying - i do have a problem with younger generation using the term old very 'loosely' because they wield it as a double aged sword. you're either some hot dilf who can be forgiven for your shitty fandom takes because well you're hot (and i'm not talking about anyone in particular here rn) or you're a gross 30 smth in fandom space who shouldn't draw porn because teens can't click the block button

short answer - i don't like what the people who call them old add to their characters and lives when they do that.

all of that is what EYE don't like in most popular fandom hcs and i usually just scroll past the things i don't like, i don't want to start shit publicly (and because of what, takes?), but here you can read what i usually think when i see them.

first - if we're talking canon ages. 40 smth and this is dean's age at the end of the show - is NOT old. at all. i can't even call him that affectionately. because this is the tragedy of it all - he dies YOUNG. very fucking young, he didn't see any calm life, didn't pursue his dreams, didn't have a normal life and love and then he died. in a way, and i see some others think the same, calling him old is like 'welp it's not that bad, he lived long enough, seen shit'. but the thing is - he didn't? literally. so no, for me he's young, died young and it's fucking awful. not talking about cas here because well, billions years, old, young, he's everything (<3)

if we're talking about post canon fics where they settle. you can all burn me at the stake but sadly my spirit will just repeat the same shit - making them some kind of a wannabe hetero aging couple is not only boring as fuck, but also completely out of character for them?

what i usually see in the posts with 'old men <3' there

some variation of a white picket fence house

baby jack

dean being some kind of a soccer mom who bakes and argues with other moms

cas being more of a dad shaped thing who gardens and Doesn't Get It at the parents' meetings or somewhere equally boring and somehow still clueless about a lot of human shit

them creaking every part of their bodies (jesus my joints have been like this since i was 14, and my back is bad now when i'm only 30 where is my retirement pakige?)

probably forgetting smth but you get the gist. and, again, not saying that that's ALL i see with the old men posts and art etc (some hcs are wild and i LOVE them), but the majority? yeag, i've been permanently a destiel blogger for 4 years now, i've seen the popular stuff

doesn't all of that remind you of a typical heterosexual family on some conservative cable tv show? if not i'm happy for you, but i can't help but see how the roles are set in stone and i don't find it endearing at all. that's one reason. and also i'm a strong believer that a baby won't fix dean. jack won't fix shit and here's another stick to my pyre - i don't care about him at all and i think that dean especially should focus on himself and his own shit and his shit with cas if they settle together, not be thrown into the baby routine again. the fandom likes to remind everyone how dean raised sam and it's mostly true but don't you think for one goddamn second he would want/need to live for himself and not over obsess about bringing up another kid? sure he loves them, but if every person with dean's baggage were trusted with kids as a cure-al ...well. and again very hetero, 'you should have a child, that'll fix your hysteria!' i'll even say, very real life stuff, just not the one i want to see here.

another reason is this - they are freaks.

they are assholes, freaks, serial killers, undead creatures, bad people...who are very much in love and very soft with each other and their family but they are still freaks. and i don't understand how them getting old will so fundamentally change so many aspects of their characters that they become typical suburban mom and dad combo. maybe i sound like a person who doesn't want them to be happy, or who doesn't get the 'it shows that their life is finally calm and they can pursue Normal Hobbies and Raise Kids and Build a Farm (idk how that is a calm place have you ever been on a farm with animals that you should watch and take care and kill if needed. another talk for another time) and To Love is to be Changed' etc etc etc. believe me i get it all perfectly, just not for them. if it tickles your pickle, by all means. what tickles mine is cas getting the weirdest (and often dangerous) hobbies (and this is why i got him driving a motorcycle, boxing and skydiving in my old men cheating fic) and he's an impatient guy so i don't think he'd love gardening really, he'd be mad at the plants and kill them or grow them as fast as his grace would allow (yes i'm also against human all the way cas, baby we're getting a bingo here). and dean of course should have ties with his community and i've already talked about this but i see how they are out of active hunting, but still help those who are still in it (if the supernatural isn't wiped completely and i don't see why it should be), maybe they always have a place in their home for those who come to regroup or just to chat or smth. and dean is an overprotective and micromanaging asshole so he would want to still have the gist of it all (and cas would want to unwind by killing some things from time to time)...and they still sleep in the same bed, eat the food they cook together, wear matching tatts maybe as a wedding gift to each other, and have dogs, cats and whatnot.

what i want to say - i don't get why the weird and the sweet can't coexist. why should they lose all of their insane bits. they loved each other WITH them (cursed or not remember) why should they change so drastically to fit the 'happily ever after' narrative.

anyway i can probably write a lot more but that's a long ass grumbling as it is.

Nope! I've never had anyone ask how I draw grumps ur the first! :3

ill try my best to explain how I draw grumps and some tips, even though I'm not very good at explaining stuff.

But also, fair warning there are headcanons of grumpus biology and other things. :P

But I have...2-3 ways I draw grumpuses, more animalistic or more of a cartoonish way.

But I'd have to say that you'd have to really study the cast we've got in bugsnax, study their body types. Such as with eggabell and my drawing of her.

Her original body shape is eggie, such with her name hehe.

But with more rounder grumpuses (especially more in the stomach and hips area), I've interpreted their round side with fat. In eggabell's body shape you can see how her bottom area is more big than the rest of her body. In the drawing that I made, her body is large in the bottom but makes it way to be thinner just like in her og body. But with more plump grumps they have dewlaps. (Which if I remember properly are made of fat and fur for nesting)

Even with grumpuses like floofty (including other rounder grumps such as snorpy and beffica) >>

In their original yk body and proportions, hips are big, but slowly move up to become thinner. But unlike eggabell they're not yk egg shaped.

But ofc their are....thinner grumpuses, such as wambus or wiggle. Unfortunately I've not drawn them, but I will show my skinnier ocs I've drawn before.

These two grumpuses (even tho they're both undead might I add) have similar proportions as a human would. Mostly with the ratio hips to chest.

But I draw their bodies segmented, say with my skinny grumps you can see how both of their bodies/torsos are made up of three shapes. But with grumpuses like Beffica and Floofty, their bodies are segmented into two main shapes.

But getting into faces and jaw lines...thats always threw me off a bit. But generally speaking I mostly draw faces for grumpuses to be more canine like, either that or to be an animal that more or so fits the characters's.

While I don't really and truly draw much of the actually cast, I fully believe that a character like uh... Say lizbert, if I'm writing this down incorrectly please tell me, but with her I'd imagine she'd more or so look like a seal in the face. A buff seal.

But in general, either more canine or feline like.

With jawlines tho, grumpuses without over/underbites are flat faced. So take that into consideration especially, as their snout would probably point out a bit it wouldn't point out as far as a grumpus with an under/overbite. Say like a pug or smth, they're faces are mostly flat and not as long as dogs with long snouts. Grumpuses with over bites as we all know have teeth that rest above the bottom jaw, causing their teeth/tusks to poke out from their lip. Ditto with underbites, but their bottom jaw goes out more than the top jaw. (Poodles is meant to look like a poodle so that's why her snout points out, BUT I PROMISE THAT'S NOT HOW I USUALLY DRAW IT)

Oh and hair! And eyes as well. Hair, as I assume for grumpuses, can grow on their heads. But it would have to majorly have to deal with genes if a grumpus baby does have hair or fur that grows similarly to fur.

Such as with my two grumpus ocs, one has fur, the other has hair. Again as I've stated, I believe that a grumpus probably needs some type of recessive gene from both parents to successfully grow hair. But it's not really and truly a very rare thing to have. Like I'd assume 45 out of 100 grumps have hair that does differ from long fur.

With eeeyyyeeesss thooo, I imagine it's very similar to what humans have. Such as different eye shapes, sometimes even different patterns of pupils, but that would depend on where the grumpus originates from and how far they we're in the food chain. So yes again, genes. In my own hc I believe grumpuses have 3 different pupils that depend on their gene origin, round pupils (like humans), slit pupils (like cats), and squared pupils (like horses or goats).

We could also get into fur. But again like everything else I've stated before, genes and origins play a huge role in that

But um... For tips, I'd say mostly try and study their anatomy. As well facial structure especially with animals.

As well, take in consideration of characters body shape and anatomy. Even ur own characters.

listen idk how to tell you this, and please do not take the tone of this ask to be aggressive, but you have got to start questioning yourself a little more. why are all your least favorite characters the most visibly mentally ill? why are you comfortable saying a character will need several years of therapy before they are able to have friendships? i know youre going to reply to this saying like, oh, i hc other characters as mentally ill, or oh, i'm mentally ill myself - i can't possibly be ableist! and then all your followers will be like yeah ur fine we love you, but im begging you. its okay to dislike characters, but its such an obvious pattern that the ones who have visible, uncomfortable mental health problems that make them unpleasant are, mysteriously, the ones you have the least sympathy for. i do not care whether you consider yourself ableist, whether you headcanon more pleasant characters as mentally ill, whether youre mentally ill yourself - you are posting ableist things. someone doesnt need to be cured or fixed before they should be allowed to have meaningful relationships

Okay, I've read this message over a few times and have it under consideration (? I think that's the phrase).

I do think you got some information wrong, I could be mistaken but after looking through my own posts I think you might've misread something. What I *have* said (before I watched the OVA) is that I dont think Hajime and Nagito should specifically date *each other* until they get therapy / work through their problems (although I do think that, thematically, they make sense as eventual love interests). Again, hadn't watched the OVA, so I was basing it on their interactions in game only, the OVA sort of changes directions from how the game left off.

Never said anything about anyone not having meaningful relationships until they get therapy, and have actually said that a good social net (meaningful relationships, friendly or romantic) are integral to healing from traumatic events. Not saying I haven't given off a bad impression maybe or implied something, if so do tell me because it was probably not intentional and might've slipped by me, but I'm speaking from a factual search of my blog. Not something I have ever said, as far as I can see, and not something I believe anyhow.

I actually mention pretty frequently that I think Nagito (I assume this is mostly about him) is an interesting character that I like, but find complex. My least favourite characters are Hiyoko, Mahiru and Teru (sorry fans of those! I dont mean anything by it it's literally just the vibes) that's why I don't really draw them. The OVA endeared Nagito to me, which is why I've been drawing him on a friendship journey lately, so if you're assuming I don't like him that's more incorrect now than ever.

By all means if you wanna talk about this more openly in chat, I'm down (though my timezone tends to clash). I feel you've put some words in my mouth.

i think you two would have a really fun dynamic tbh. lots of teasing and bordering a love-hate dynamic, yet somehow a sense of understanding between the two of you that would just draw you close.

he'd appreciate you for being so chill because he honestly cannot stand someone clinging to him and begging him for his attention 24/7 and you being secure in this sense definitely works out perfectly for him.

he personally wouldnt mind you being 'morally questionable' (you are both about to be really chaotic because youre both competitive and do not back down from doing the most questionable shit ever but hey!! yolo!!)

toji can honestly be pretty asshole-y but one thing he'll never be is whiny, or cowardly. it would take a while for you guys to develop a more serious relationship, but that's alright because neither of you were in the rush/looking for one.

i hc he's an early bird because of the training he received growing up. since hes a bit of a shithead he'd probably be super amused by how ill-tempered you are in the mornings and unfortunately will not hold back from poking fun at you until you're really mad. won't apologize for riling you up either since for him it was quite entertaining.

in general, he actually doesnt sleep all that much, so if you wanna get back at him by pulling a prank or two when he's asleep, youre gonna have to wait until he takes that 2-3 hour long rest. sadly, very little fazes him so you will have to wait and observe him to figure out his pet peeves and such.

toji is oddly observant. he may seem like a meathead but even the slightest change in your demeanour doesnt go amiss by him. youre really private about your personal matters though and he picked up on it quite early on so he never says anything. instead, he chooses to show his consideration through actions and gestures. he'll let up on his teasing and taunting, he'll do a bothersome chore on your behalf, take out the time of his day to run your errands, gruffly pat your head and tell you to take some time off.

one thing you'll probably pick up on fairly early on in your friendship/relationship with toji is that he loves it when you challenge him. *loves* it when you debate with him. youre constantly coming up with such interesting stuff and he finds it really amusing how youre so invested in your hobbies yet somehow have a short attention span at the same time. he may come off as borderline condescending sometimes but really, he actually secretly admires you. he loves that youre so sarcastic and humorous,

date ideas: while he'd be up for doing pretty much when youre hanging out together, somehow when it comes to the idea of a 'date' he'd actually want to do something like a dinner in a 'romantic' setting just because that seems proper. either that or something out of pocket and adventurous like bungee jumping if youre up for it.

instead of getting you flowers, he'd actually rather get you a gift (unless you really like flowers or something) and it'd be something surprisingly thoughtful- something that would show just how observant he is. would actually be pretty pleased to learn that you like receiving gifts and would probably say that flowers are dumb because they die so soon, have no functionality and all that.

we got one character that is probably mentally ill and kind of out of touch with people, growing up in a rich family being privately tutored with only a few friends their parents made them have for the sake of looking normal, they would grow to be fascinated with taboo things like violence since they were very sheltered from it (yet that only made them more interested, eventually they desensitized themselves to it and now they can't really tell if something is bad or not, although they do have a baseline of "don't stab people")

this character becomes almost obsessed over this person put in jail for killing someone, to the point they pay money to the police to get them out of jail (this transaction was illegal, but hey money is money)

the person who was put in jail, was really just framed for the murder (when it was just manslaughter) of their dad, their dad was emotionally and verbally abusive, yet they had no evidence to say they were defending themselves and their dad's friend defended him and even set up fake evidence so it looked like a planned murder.

this character came out of jail and was basically homeless (they spent about 2 years there, and had no home to go to, except of course the first character's)

they didn't really have a choice if they were going to stay or not but they didn't really mind staying in a giant rich families' house, until that first character started to act weird, and ask a bunch of questions about the murder

uh another character was the friend of the character who got put in jail, they're trying to start a band and kind of got really upset about that other character going to jail but figured they should keep going with life. this character got an apartment with another band member who has a job and probably pays a lot more of the rent, but this other band member kind of unintentionally manipulates them and leads them on, they start to realize it's not very healthy, they try to make it healthier for both people

Hi. Just read the new chapter and it was absolutely amazing. KSFM got me into reading some of ur other fic and a name I keep seeing is Sandy..one of James's ex gfs. Im really curious to know about her. I know shes irrevalant to the story and is just brought up mostly as a talking point but she just makes me curious😋. Can u share any hcs or characterisations u have of her? Reading from ur fics, i gathered she is the gossipy type tho😏👀

I love this question!! That's very observant of you! Fair warning that this answer is probably going to be very long because I love talking about OCs😅

So for backstory, I had the idea a while ago that I wanted to write my own take on a multi book series about the Marauders and Lily's time at Hogwarts. (Which still might happen eventually, but not until I've done way more planning) So I made a spreadsheet with lists of the students in all four houses every year that the Marauders were at school, so I'd have a database of sorts when writing. (I had a lot of free time on my hands during covid lockdown lmao)

Sandra "Sandy" Keaton is one of the characters I drew from that database, and I have used that name in passing now twice!

She is one of the other Gryffindors in the Marauders' year, which means she shares a dormitory with Lily for seven years, but I don't envision them ever being friends.

She is absolutely a gossipy type character, someone who would get along well with Bertha Jorkins, and in my head she looks kind of like Regina George. She's charismatic, outgoing, and opinionated (James has a bit of a type, let's say), and she gets written off by a lot of people as being "shallow" because of her stereotypically feminine interests (she loves dressing up, hair and makeup is always perfect, she devours every copy of Witch Weekly, and she loves a good romance novel.)

She has a bit of a vindictive streak, and possibly some mean girl tendencies, so she's frequently involved in some sort of drama. But she's not one-dimensional. She's a half-blood who's insecure about her place in the wizarding world, and she's been raised to seek out status as a means of survival. She seeks validation in the approval of others, which unfortunately leads her to make poor choices...like downplaying her intelligence to appeal to boys, and lashing out harshly at others who make her feel insecure.

She has a rich internal life that a lot of her classmates don't get to see. She cares very deeply about politics and worries about the war, though she tries to hide it. She's artistic and loves to draw, though she's not confident enough in it to share it with people. And she's got a huge soft spot for animals, especially her grumpy little cat. She has a little sister named Susie who she's fiercely defensive of. And she'll go to war with anyone who hurts her best friend, Zoe Boot.

She and James have a brief, ill-fated relationship. They never become close friends afterwards, but once they both mature a little, there's mutual respect.

*strolls up several days late to your post about time passing in Milgram* okay, so I believe the birthdays are just a fun-for-fans sort of thing, and that events are happening fairly quickly compared to real time! No one is aging, because if they did it's disrupt a lot of the character Vibes they're going for (aka Amane would be like 18 and Haruka would be 23 and no longer fit the 'innocent child' thing, Mahiru would be 30 and no longer fit the 'young love' trope, even Es would be around 20). Also, some of the injuries the prisoners got during the trial hiatus would have definitely healed already -- Mahiru's arm (broken sometime before last August) should have been healed by November, and there's no way she'd sound that weak for her interrogation end of this May.

Sorry if that disrupts your Haruka theory, though ;--; it sounds really interesting and I'd love to hear more about it!!

hiii beans, thank you for answering it!!! has it been that long?? i thought only 2 years have passed :o but even if that was so, the injuries would heal in 2 years so you must be right either way! it makes more sense! it'll be long so i'll just put this here

regarding the time passing, we were trying to notice differences in character art to see if their hair grew longer with my friend and iirc it was only mahiru's and amane's (?) hair that looked different or longer in some way, excluding the style differences. amane's bangs and mahiru's hair completely! (bonus: the ahoge like thing haruka has ahaha) although it's a little funny to imagine all of them except mappi and amane getting haircuts regularly (from jackalope?!), it seems unlikely so it was probably a drawing mistake in mappi's and it looks that way for amane because her hair is messy...? hypomania can last just several days, google is saying 4 days is the criteria, it can still be true as long as haruka's changes didn't all happen in one day, i guess! we at least know it's not 1 day, right? lol i think they were saying mikoto is being weird at "nights", they must have spent some time there, correct me if i'm wrong!

though some stuff i said in that post could be explained with how comfortable he got there because he was accepted by es and mu, so this is mostly me giving my mental illness to my favorite character (i can't even call it a theory just a hc!!) but but!! especially when es asks if he's a different person because that's how it feels for other people when people around them experience mania or hypomania and it usually doesn't suddenly feel like someone changed their whole personality when they get more comfortable with you, you know? he clearly shows depressive symptoms too but i guess no one is doubting that one :') also the impulsiveness! he says he doesn't want to die both in his song and those questions in twitter, then he says he'll kill himself because he doesn't really think about what he's saying. i actually planned to shut up about this until i saw everything about him. i hate being wrong /lh but i couldn't because twitter is dead to me and my friends are usually busy and i get bored if i don't talk about my hyperfixations enough. and i'm getting so comfortable here lately... ANYWAY until we get new info contradicting this i'll be saying haruka is bipolar but again, i'm not assuming the writer did it intentionally so it's more of a self indulgent hc than a theory :33 EDIT: WAIT I JUST LOOKED AT AMANE'S DOOR PIC AGAIN? HER BANGS ACTUALLY GOT LONGER??? DID JACKALOPE REALLY CUT THEIR HAIR, HELP??

Vil Schoenheit

Vil has quite a few hard nos that have a lot to do with his profession and who he is. He knows that people pay attention to him, and no matter whether his partner is fine with the public knowing about them or not, he is generally unwilling to do anything that might bring them any ill-will from over zealous fans or harassment from reporters.

As a general rule, anything that would lead to marks on his body where they would be visible are entirely out of the question. For example, while he wouldn't really mind having shibari done on his torso, he wouldn't be willing to risk any form of rope marks on his arms since he sometimes wears sheet or short sleeved clothing. He understands, though, if 'marking' him gets his partner off, so he is more than willing to come up with some workarounds if they are willing to work with him.

He is very particular with his face. He doesn't like having things on his face (save for maybe cum), so things like gags and muzzles are a no go. Blindfolds are... tentative.

He will never let his partner take photos of him. At least not on their phone. He might be more willing to allow it with a polaroid if he trusts them 100% and knows that they will be the only person to ever see them, but otherwise there's too much risk that comes with nude photos being a celebrity. Phones are not secure, at least not secure enough for him. He's known too many colleagues who have had their nudes leaked to take the risk.

He is squicked out by things having to do with spit. He doesn't like being spit on even as lubricant, and finds it exceptionally gross on his skin. It's basically an immediate turn-off.

Epel Felmier

Epel is kind of vanilla. He definitely has a few things that would creep into kink territory, but he has many, many other things that he simply doesn't get the appeal of. He will humor a lot of things, though, if his partner asks him, even if he doesn't get much out of it.

A big no for Epel is forced feminization kinks. If his partner asks, he would more than happily wear something feminine for them and doesn't even mind if they want to call him by feminine pet names in the bedroom. Even if he knows it's all fictional and they would never actually want to do it to him by force, something still really icks him out about it. He just doesn't like feeling like he's being forced to be more feminine than he's comfortable with and not being allowed to be feminine at his own speed. Similarly, he would draw the line very hard at emasculation.

He would have a really, really hard time getting into pet play. He doesn't see the appeal at all, and especially when playing as something like a cow or horse, he would just end up feeling like an actual farm animal. Not in a fun way.

While he will do it, he's really not a fan of begging. He prefers his partners don't expect him to beg for things.

Rook Hunt

Rook is honestly kind of a freak. There are very few things that he wouldn't entertain in some form.

One that he would probably draw the line at would be entire immobilization. He also would struggle with having something in place to keep him from being able to hear. He relies so much on his senses and stays in fight or flight mode most of the time so it makes him deeply uneasy to feel entirely defenseless.

Not a no, but he would truly kind of suck at degrading his partners. He has a hard time bringing himself to say anything truly bad about them-- now blunt and a bit insensitive? Yeah, sure, but actually calling them names and putting them down is a different beast entirely.

His hair is sensitive, so he isn't a huge fan of his partner pulling his hair if they don't discuss it with him beforehand.

Jack Howl

Jack has a lot of limits... or at least, things that he thinks are limits that might not be entirely true. I'll explain a bit more on that in a moment as I go through examples, but the general takeaway should be that Jack is more open-minded that he might first get credit for.

Most things that might be considered a bit... edge: sounding, pain play, risk-aware consensual kink, multiple partners, all of these are things that Jack's gut reaction would be no. He's... a little too noble for his own good. He tends to say no to things without actually considering them and ends up back pedaling on them eventually once he has time to consider them more carefully. For example, he would actually be pretty into sounding in practice, but he's urged to say no because he assumes it will feel bad without even knowing about the specifics or doing any research.

I would say his only actual hard no would be pet play and collars, leashes, anything in that realm. He gets very uncomfortable with the idea that his partner might actually view him as a pet instead of a person.

Ruggie Bucchi

Ruggie is somewhere in the middle-- he's willing to hear some things out but he has others that will be an automatic no from him.

To start with... he isn't a fan of wearing dresses, or, costumes in general for that matter. He doesn't think there's anything wrong if someone else does like it, he just finds them a little too breezy and open and he isn't a fan.

He doesn't like the feeling of being restrained and fully immobilized. He wouldn't mind his hands being cuffed or tied, but anything more than that would be a no.
