ANON i am shaking u!!!! to be honest im not usually into yan but yandere!aki REALLLYY does it for me;;;; i think i've said this a couple times on here BUT i think being overprotective and controlling is an accurate extreme/perversion of his character because he's lost so much in his life that i think he'd be desperate to hang onto what he has left (putting the rest under a readmore bc spoilers)

in csm he was so desperate to ensure denji and power's safety that he was willing to abandon the goal that'd been his life's purpose up to that point. so i think, especially if you remove him from canon, and place him in a setting where the reader is the one thing he has left, he could easily go overboard. he's a caretaker type that could become obsessive and codependent. even if he's well-intentioned, if he's desperate enough, that can turn protectiveness into overbearing control. but like you said -- pampering control. because he's never going to purposefully harm you!!
