I think my favourite thing about the story so far (just started NG++) is the emphasis the game gives to 621 and Ayre becoming friends.
Besides Walter spelling it out in the Liberator ending, I think Carla's line about how "You lost someone too" in the Fires ending is pretty impactful.
621 basically spends all their time in the mech, I doubt Carla has even seen them in person. Yet, when Ayre leaves them, Carla can sense that 621 is acting unusual, like they are missing someone. Similarly to how she's missing Chatty.
I want to bite.

History podcast: “well, these footsoldiers/common navy sailors belonged to a historically bad side in a conflict, so we can cheer that they died”
Me, gnashing my teeth trying not to rant about how the common man in any given war isn’t usually that interested in the politics of said conflict and either buys into propaganda or has little free choice in the matter. Especially in conflicts from 100, let alone 200 years ago. Saying a random footsoldier is just one of the evil guys distances you from their humanity and the possibility that a good person could still do horrid things. Not to mention a lot of wars historically have a draft so said men had NO choice at all.

oh i just had the most cursed and yet hilarious dream about DSOTM that woke me up laughing
Harry and Dumbledore claim they have a blood relation to give Harry a bit of protection right - but what if the relation they claim is father and son???
Harry is, at first, against the idea, but Albus is like "nah nah this can work - ain't nobody who would fuck with my son, you can even take my name if you want?"
Harry say a polite fuck no to that but the papers for 'Harry Evans' are drawn up - Albus Dumbledore's recently discovered bastard child.
Everyone is shook, and Tom's crisis of attraction is even more fatal this time around because does he really want Dumbledore as a father-in-law?? but then Harry does something borderline impossible with magic and he just curls up into a ball because yes yes apparently he does.
The only two people who question it are Gellert and Aberforth. Gellert just pisses himself laughing at the mere idea and sends Albus a letter basically going lol nice try who is he really?
Which is at least more polite than Aberforth who took one look at Harry and said to his brother "no way youve ever touched a woman carnally - what's actually going on?"
