(for those who aren't familiar, 'first desk' refers to the music stand at the front of each instrumental section in the orchestra. i phrased that bad, but it refers to the violinists/violists/cellists at the front of their respective section, closest to the conductor. in most orchestras/my experience, it's two people, and the one sitting closest to the audience in each section is deemed the 'section leader'. )

A is being targetted by B (who is evil. very very evil.) but C is getting annoyed because reader is their target. C is a villain but in a 'i want to cause mischief for fun, not because i enjoy people getting hurt. normally i don't enjoy people gektting hurt, anyways' kinda way?? so now they're all "i'm gonna protect reader and try to get rid of B >:(

A is a witch and their animal companion is.. a crow. who steals things and rarely manages to deliver letters to the right person. One day B mistakenly gets a letter reader had written for someone else and they become interested in A and come to their magic shop (to return the letter, totally not to meet reader), and actually befriends the crow and the crow is kind of the wingman. is it bad that i get it though? like you want the pic or the video to prove that it happened from your perspective rather than maybe being in someone elses clip for a millisecond but at the same time i feel like even then the visceral memory would be better? but also when the culture is taking a photo that's what you're going to be inclined to do? and also saying stuff like 'they 're here because of tiktok' feels mean like maybe i am just being overly optimistic regarding their behaviour and motives but does that not still qualify you as a fan? even though it still very much sucks though it is definitely nowhere near as bad as yanking on him like??? in what world is that appropriate - 🐸

idk honestly. My dad and I argue about this every single time that we get together. He always says that I'm being judgmental and overly snobby (which, I will admit, I very well could be) but to me, I think, it's a cultural shift. If we set aside the morality of it for a second, I think what's happened is that we used to place value on the having of the experience and being able to say that we did something/ saw something/ were present when a thing happened/ experienced a specific place or environment. But now the value is in the documentation of it. Like, if you send someone to the same place/ show/ activity without their phone, they won't feel the same about it as they would if they were able to post about it/ film it or whatever.

And thats what makes me sad. The idea that we have privileged the mediated experience of real life through social media, tiktok, instagram whatever in this curated way, more than just being and feeling and experiencing. idk, i can't speak for everyone, but for me? it makes me feel less connected and less human. Like, when I go to my show in a little over a month, I don't think I'll be taking any pictures or videos. I wanna FEEL everything. in my body, skin, bones, eyes, ears whatever. But again im not making a moral judgment (not saying its good or bad) just observing the fact that what we find meaning in has changed.

Sorry I’m late on this. Notes:

The video starts mid conversation. I think Greg is talking about the recent Joker movie. I only figured that out because one of his Patreons keep randomly saying “Joaquin Phoenix” really loud. Greg’s comparing Arthur Fleck to himself. He says Arthur goes through the same shit he went through and they look the same. Says he has the same hairdo, white man, 8 years older than him, trying to be an entertainer but everyone hates him. “Jesus christ this sounds so familiar.” He says he felt personally attacked because Joaquin acted the same way Greg acted in his old videos. (I can’t tell if this is a joke.)

He says people called him “the Joker of Youtube” (I think he’s getting mixed up with the “villain”. People used to call him that after New Media Rockstars called him “Youtube’s Perfect Villain” back in 2013. I’ve personally never seen anyone call him the “Joker” of youtube.) He says he didn’t understand it because he wasn’t Heath Ledger, he just imitated him, but when the new movie came out it he felt exposed. He said it felt so personal.

A Patreon suggests Greg was the inspiration for the new Joker and Greg says he doubts that. He says he thinks a lot of people go through these experiences and the Joker in the comics pre-dates him and he was always a failed comedian. He says just the way Joaquin played the joker felt personal. He says this was the first time he felt like someone understood him. All he needs is the traumatic brain injury and that would have been him.

Says he knows someone with mental illness that takes a lot of medication and if you combine that person with him you’d get Joaquin‘s joker.

Greg talks about the plot and says every piece of it was mind blowing. He says it was one of the greatest films he’s ever seen. He says the Christian Bale series was gold and the Joker movie was platinum. He says it’s because it’s so relatable and real feeling.

Greg says not a lot of people know a scene in Joker seems like a personal attack on David Letterman because Joaquin went on his show years ago and he was made fun of. Greg says it was really bad, he was shitting all over Joaquin. (btw Greg keeps pronouncing Joaquin as “yo-kwon” even though all his Patreons have been pronouncing his name correctly this whole time. Thought I’d point it out.) He says it’s one of the most uncomfortable things he’s ever seen and Greg took that as Joaquin telling David Letterman he wants to kill him.

Greg says when he was in the air force these guys were bragging about “double fucking” a girl he knew. He says he thought the girl was great. He says it didn’t bother him that they were bragging about double fucking her, but they said she had pancake nipples and that made him really mad. He says he likes big nipples, but she was embarrassed, publicly shamed for her body. He says he wished he could tell her she was great the way she was, but he couldn’t because he was married.

A Patreon says she noticed a lot of guys with long hair have tiny nipples. Greg disagrees. He says when somebody gets top surgery, their nipples look smaller so he thinks it’s a flat chested thing. (lol um they reduce the size of the areola during the surgery, which is why it looks smaller)

A Patreon brings up a tweet Greg made about people from the UK changing their accent because he’s fucking them? Or something? One of his sexual tweets. Greg says he got some upset messages from Patresons about that. He says it’s satire because he’s laughing while he’s tweeting it. He says he likes it when people who are “in a position of anger” get mad when they read it. (I'm not 100% sure what he meant by that, but I think he’s saying he likes making people that dislike him angry.)

A Patreon says people hate Greg, but they pay him and watch his while streams to comment on them. Greg says he hasn’t been reading hate.

He says he’s been lucky on twitter because he’s been generating buzz. Greg says his twitter is all inclusive and he’s gotten offers from guys because of his sexual tweets. He says a guy gave him his instagram.

Someone randomly asks if anyone remembers Ray William Johnson. A bunch of people say yes. Greg says RWJ got sued and lost. His Patreons ask about it and Greg says he was sued by a copyright company. He says people think they have more copyright protection then they do. He says they think it’s fair use, then they lose their case.

They talk about Madame. Greg explains the situation to a Patreon. He says it’s harder when they use someone else’s music because music is more copyright protected. (she was claimed because of his music, according to him. Idk the details.)

Greg says he purchases a license for his background music for videos. He says it’s usually cheap. He suggests Digital Juice. 

Everyone talks about times their videos were claimed because of music. Someone asks about manual claims. Greg says when you do that Youtube will respond and say “we’re feeling concerned about this claim so can you please back it up with documents”, then he does and they move forward.

Greg says Youtube used to make a lot of money off of stolen copyright content. 

Greg says the golden age of Youtube was 2007-2009, before he made it. He says it was like a community back then.

Greg says before Youtube, he would upload videos to videos.google.com and a lot of other places. He says he did well on google’s video site.

Greg says when his videos get blocked in countries now he doesn’t care.

Greg says it’s crazy when you root for the bad guy in a movie. He says he loved the joker movie. He thinks everyone that's been bullied by normies can relate. Someone asks what a normie is and he says it’s someone who had everything handed to them. (lol Greg trying to use modern slang always hurts)

They keep going on about how real it was and how great it was. Says it tackled mental health, blah blah.

I forgot to mention this before, but Greg says his hair is greasy because he put Vaseline in it??

Greg says someone sent him a hit list of his Patreons someone made for people to harass them. He saw Lizard Queen was on there and he felt bad because she’s not a supporter anymore. He says she must be pissed for still paying for pledging to him.

He explains the hit list more and some Patreons say that explains what happened to them, they got messaged. They don’t care, they say their minds aren’t easily changed. A Patreon says a lot of them (patreons) have been going out there to show how ridiculous they (people on twitter) are being and they don’t listen so why should they? 

Someone says one of the antis twitters were banned for harassment. Greg says he never gets banned, but when he reports people they get banned because he actually reports threats.

Patreons continue to talk about harassment and Greg says if you don’t read things from people you don’t follow you’re good.

Western social media has no respect for Japanese online artists - and it’s killing online art

The visual arts have evolved to suit the most popular medium of each era. In nowadays’ case, the internet is the go-to method of sharing the fruits of one’s labour). However, as stated in that tweet thread of mine you can see if you scroll down a bit (assuming you’re viewing this post on chariot313.tumblr.com) different cultures have different attitudes towards how their customers react to their products. This include you know what fuck the formalities, I’ll just say it: The exclusively western concept of someone seeing something they like online and hitting the share button to stimulate the “Haha, upvotes go ‘brrr’!” dopamine in their smooth-ass lizard brain will be the death of online Japanese artists. Or rather, it has been already, and you would know that if you’ve ever seen an artist’s Twitter bio be in mostly Japanese save for one sentence in English; “Reprint is prohibited.”.

Introduction

Social media as a whole is based around sharing (posting, uploading, submitting, tweeting, blogging, streaming etc.) and other’s reactions to what one has shared (views, likes, subscribers, favorites, followers, upvotes, retweets, reblogs, crossposts, etc.).

However, miscommunication and culture shock due to language barriers and cultural differences is one of the many factors that can negatively affect one’s experience on social media. For example, the Japanese artist community, active on sites such as Twitter, Pixiv, NicoNico Seiga, FC2 blogs, etc.. Twitter is mostly inhabited by English-speaking users. Here in the west, our main motive for sharing something on social media (such as art) is for fame and recognition. However, over in the East, most online artists only upload their works to the internet for personal use. I’m not saying one cultural attitude towards sharing art is better than one another, but when these two worldviews collide, the culture shock can negatively affect the careers of artists who are unaware of the other culture’s differing views on sharing art.

So, I’ve listed numerous social media platforms below and I’m going to elaborate on how each of them contributes to the alienation and discouragement of Japanese artists.

DO NOT WITCH-HUNT OR HARASS THE CULPRITS I’VE LISTED AS EXAMPLES; THEY ONLY SERVE TO BACK UP MY ARGUMENT

Twitter

Go into the twitter search bar and type in the name of an anime character (usually female). What do you find? Most likely an account named after said character that does nothing but post unsourced fan art of said character with cheesy “in-character” captions on them.

Aside from that, Twitter isn’t that bad in this regard, as a lot of the art that gets stolen is originally uploaded to Twitter anyway. But I’m just getting started. 

Wattpad

Ah yes, Wattpad. One of the “trinity” of fan fiction communities (the others being fanfiction.net and AO³), featuring many different stories with varying degrees of readability. The problem is the option to add a picture to adorn your fanfiction, at which point most of the authors google “<fanfic subject> fan art” and use something from there without considering the repercussions. This causes Wattpad to be one of the top results when reverse image searching to find the source of some fan art, aside from another site I’ll mention later on...

Reddit

There’s a subreddit I often browse called r/ChurchOfJirou, a community for sharing anything relating to the character Kyouka from My Hero Academia (I mean come on, she’s like the cutest thing ever). A lot of the posts on that sub are sharing fan art of the aforementioned character. One of the rules in the sidebar is “always include the source in the title or the comments”. And most of the submissions make good on that rule. However, a lot of the posts are from Japanese artists on Twitter or Pixiv, and following the source link leads you to find the artist’s bio, which usually has something along the lines of “don’t repost my work”. And what’s more, the biggest offenders (of submitting art to the sub without OP’s permission) were the moderators of the subreddit. You know, the ones who are supposed to be enforcing the rules? I even got so fed up that I called it out, to which one of the mods replied,

“It doesn’t really make a difference, does it?”

Luckily, not all subreddits are like this. For example, other MHA-related subs like r/BokuNoShipAcademia or r/ChurchOfMinaAshido have moderators that are more considerate of artists’ wishes. Overall, Reddit is usually a hit-or-miss when it comes to this kind of thing. At best, you’ve got subs like the two I just mentioned which make sure to respect artists, and at worst you’ve got people trying (and failing) to edit out watermarks. Also, not to self-promote, but this tweet of mine represents this situation pretty well:

Imgur isn’t that bad compared to the rest of these, but it’s a common one that people link to when asked for the source of whatever they’ve shared on Twitter or Reddit or whatever.

Amino Apps

Amino Apps is a strange case. I don’t know much about it since I’ve never used it, but from what I do know it seems similar to Reddit in that there are numerous communities for different niches. That said, judging from the way it clogs up Google image search results, I doubt OC art is posted there often.

YouTube

Now, you may be thinking, “How does a video site rip off others’ art?”. The answer is uploads of soundtracks. Look for any OST from a video game or anime on YouTube and the picture used for the video will likely be some fan art by a Japanese Pixiv artist, usually one that forbids reposts of their work. Not only that, but if the uploader did bother to add the source in the description, it’s usually not even a link to the actual source, more likely a link to Zerochan or Pinterest or something. Now take into account that some of these videos get millions of views. Imagine working hard on something, and some numbnuts takes it, slaps some music onto it, uploads it to YouTube, and gets millions of views while you get next to nothing in comparison.

Pinterest

Alright, this is the big one. When Pinterest isn’t giving recipes or wardrobe ideas to suburban white moms, it’s clogging up Google reverse image search, punishing anyone who just wanted to find the source of some cute fan art. I feel like this meme by ZebitasMartinexSi on Facebook sums it up:

For example, this piece of Legend of Zelda art by Twitter artist @_nomeri_ (I’ll just link to it, since it would be hypocritical of me to embed the image even though @_nomeri_’s bio warns people not to repost their art). Good art, right? Well, if you right-click and hit “Search Google for image”...

...yeah. Pinterest is a plague. It thrives on theft. Even worse is when someone will post fan art on Twitter/Tumblr/Reddit/etc. and have the nerve to say “IDK the source I found it on Pinterest ^_^”. Or worse yet, they link to Pinterest saying it’s the source.

Instagram

While many other sites rag on Instagram for its reposting of memes, it’s no better when it comes to reposting fan art, especially from Pixiv. I’ve seen lots of stolen pieces with fan fictions written in the description. Personally, if I were an artist, I’d rethink my career choice if I saw my art reposted on Instagram with a half-assed fanfic under it, so I don’t blame Japanese artists who close their Pixiv accounts after seeing that. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to prevent it from happening in the first place.

DeviantArt

DeviantArt is more “renowned” across the web for its niche circles of bizarre fetish art, but in its defence, there are some legitimately good pieces on there. If you do find a good one though, try checking to see if all of the uploader’s pieces have a similar overall art style, because if not, that’s a sure sign of someone passing off some Pixiv user’s art as their own, which is unfortunately fairly common on DeviantArt.

9Gag

Not a whole lot to say about 9Gag. I mean, it does contribute to reposting of art, but nothing really separates it from the others on this list, aside from its watermarks. At least the watermark gives away the fact that something was reposted.

Know Your Meme

You know that Zelda pic by @_nomeri_ I was talking about earlier? Well, to add insult to injury, it became an object-labelling meme.

Imagine putting hours into something and politely asking others not to repost it, only to find that some nincompoops on r/DankMemes made it into an object-labelling meme.

But this isn’t KYM’s fault, per se. Know Your Meme only documents memes; they do not create them. However, as someone who regularly browses the Know Your Meme image galleries, I can say that the image gallery has essentially become Know Your Fan Art (unlawfully reposted fan art, that is).

Redbubble

There’s an NSFW artist I follow on Twitter by the name of Nico-Mo. A while ago, his Pixiv account was suspended, and there were numerous pictures on there that he had not uploaded to his Twitter or DeviantArt, so I found a mirror of one of those pieces on Gelbooru and reverse-image searched in hopes of finding it on his Twitter. No such luck. What came up instead was a .png of the piece made into a sticker being sold on Redbubble. In fact, that’s one of the major reasons why artists disapprove of their art being reposted, as it may find its way onto a sticker or a T-shirt being sold as merch without the original artist giving consent nor the artist receiving so much as a single nickel.

Facebook

Surprisingly, I think Facebook is one of the least offending sites on this list. Still worth mentioning, though.

Funnyjunk

Like Imgur, Funnyjunk isn’t that bad compared to some of the rest of these, but this exchange in the comments of a repost of an MHA artist that deleted their account (not hard to see why considering people straight-up ignored the big-ass watermark at the bottom) is proof enough of western social media’s flippant attitude towards ruining online artists’ careers.

Aggregator imageboards such as Yande.re, Konachan, Danbooru, Gelbooru, Rule34, SankakuComplex, Zerochan, etc.

I don’t think I need to explain these. But like Imgur, these are what most people link to when asked for source instead of bothering to find the original post.

We Heart It

I don’t know much about “We Heart It”, but it seems to be a “Pinterest Lite” considering it clogs up image search almost as much as Pinterest does.

iFunny

Basically the same as 9Gag, in the sense that its watermarks are a dead giveaway.

4chan

I’m not sure if 4chan really “counts” among these, as it’s a chat board where nearly everything is impermanent anyway. However, I was once on an NSFW subreddit where one submitter used a 4chan thread to get Patreon-exclusive material from an artist to upload to the sub (even though one of the rules of the sub was “no paywall content”), so that alone earns 4chan its spot on this list.

Tumblr

Yes, not even Tumblr is innocent. Although I’m sure you knew that. Similar to what I said about Twitter, look up any blog named after a fictional character and it’ll likely be chock-full of unsourced fan art.

“Why is this even important?”

Because if an artist sees that their work is being reposted, depending on the artist, they may delete the original post when they wouldn’t have to if people had just respected their wishes. Now, if an artist wants their works gone from the internet for other personal reasons, that’s up to them and we should respect them for it. But artists taking down their works due to mass reposting is 100% preventable, which is why it’s sad. If you don’t respect an artist, they won’t create art. Simple as that.

“Why do you care so much?”

Eh, I’m just weird like that. It just ticks me off when anything online, whether it be art, or a video, or whatever, is lost. In my opinion, nothing hurts more than clicking a Pixiv link on an imageboard and being greeted with “The work was deleted or the ID does not exist.”.

“But lots of western artists forbid reposting of their art too!”

Indeed, that is correct. But while many artists of every nationality and culture frown upon reproduction of their work, it seems only western social media is responsible for reposting art in the first place. I mean, why else do you think Japanese artists are saying “Reprint is prohibited” in English when the rest of their bio is in Japanese? Because English-speakers are the ones reposting.

“But exposure can help an artist!”

Yeah, that’s true...

...but “exposure” doesn’t mean much if those “exposed” to one’s work don’t know or care who it came from.

Otherwise known as me just wanting to join in with all the hung!Otabek content that’s been coming out of this fandom in recent weeks.

He’s never been this drunk before, so drunk he’s not even sure what order his memories from the last few hours go in, so drunk that he can barely stand, so drunk that the room is spinning.

He sits down and opens Twitter, starting to type. He doesn’t even think about what he’s Tweeting, just starts a thread and keeps on going until he gets it all off his chest. Mila is grabbing at his hands and pulling him up so they can dance together again, and Yuri’s phone lies on the couch, forgotten.

So he doesn’t see what he’s done until morning.

It’s the sound of his phone vibrating loudly on the bedside table that wakes him up. He’s in Mila’s spare bedroom, a small sized room with what feels like the most uncomfortable bed he’s ever slept on, but it evidently didn’t bother him at whatever time he collapsed onto last night. At least he made it into bed, he supposes. That’s an achievement, even if he’s still wearing yesterday’s clothes.

He grabs at his phone, squinting at the screen. It reads 6 AM, and is somehow fully charged, even though he has doesn’t remember plugging it in last night. It’s far too early. Yuri wants nothing more at this particular moment in time than to roll over and go back to sleep to avoid dealing with this hangover from hell, but it’s Otabek that’s calling him, so he supposes that he’d better answer.

“Hello?” he says, his voice sounding all croaky as he unplugs his phone and rolls back onto his back. There’s light streaming in through a gap in the curtains, and Yuri would get up and close them properly, but they’re too far away to deal with right now. Instead, he opts for the easier option: pulling his blankets over his head.

“Yuri, what the fuck?” Otabek asks on the other end of the line. Even in this still half drunk, hungover state, Yuri can tell that this is Not Good. “What were you thinking?”

“What are you talking about?” Yuri replies. He wonders if it’s about his and Mila’s Snapchat stories, but from what he can remember there’s nothing too outrageous on them, just some really bad singing in questionable English to pop songs neither of them like.

“Your Twitter? Your thread that spends about ten tweets waxing poetry about the size of my dick? Everyone’s talking about it, the fans are going crazy, I had Victor ringing me up half an hour ago to ask if it was true and if I really had deflowered Russia’s Fairy like that, and I just – what the hell were you thinking, Yuri?”

Yuri fumbles with his phone, opening Twitter with his phone call with Otabek still active in the background. He doesn’t even need to go onto his profile to see it, it’s all over his timeline. “Oh, shit,” he swears as he scrolls through the Tweets. “I don’t even remember posting any of this. I was so drunk, Beka. So drunk. I’m sorry.”

Instagram will be full of people screaming in the comments, and Facebook will have people criticising his decision to share this all on the internet for everyone to see. There’s a knock on the bedroom door and Mila enters, a glass of water in one hand and her phone in the other. Her hair is messy and she obviously didn’t get around to taking off her makeup last night, as her eyeliner and mascara is smudged around her eyes and what’s left of her foundation is decidedly patchy.

“Hey,” she says quietly, walking forward and placing the glass on the bedside table. “Thought you could probably do with a glass of water.”

“Thanks,” Yuri mumbles, reaching for the glass and taking a few small sips. Though his phone call with Otabek has now ended, they’re continuing to text as they both keep an eye on what’s happening on social media. Victor keeps texting him too, and Yakov keeps calling him, but Yuri is ignoring those. He doesn’t need a lecture right now.

Mila shuffles on her feet, pulling the sleeves of her hoodie over her hands. “I’m sorry,” she says quietly, looking down at the carpet rather than at Yuri. “I never should’ve got you that drunk last night.”

“You do realise I don’t really give a shit, right?” Yuri replies. Mila’s head snaps up and she stares at him, brow furrowed.

“What?” she asks, confused.

“I don’t care, Mila,” Yuri says. “Maybe in a perfect world I wouldn’t have posted those tweets and sent the figure skating fandom into a meltdown, and maybe people at Google questioning wouldn’t be wondering why there’s been a sudden increase in people Googling what the average penis size in Kazakhstan is, but it’s not the end of the world. Otabek wasn’t best pleased at first but I think he’s getting over it now. If anything, it’s just given everyone another reason to be jealous of the fact that I’m dating him.”

Mila scoffs, a smile spreading across her face. “You’re something else, Plisetsky,” she says. “Are you going to tell me, then?”

“Tell you what?” Yuri asks, feigning ignorance as he continues to scroll through Twitter. He’s trending, but he’s not exactly sure how he’s supposed to feel about that given the circumstances.

“How big he is, of course!”

“Fuck no. Get out my room.”

“Technically speaking –”

“Did I fucking stutter?”

Yuri’s been back at his apartment for a few hours, doing nothing more than curling up on the couch and watching Netflix and contemplating if he can stomach food yet when the doorbell rings. He stares at the door for a few moments, confused, because he no one’s told him they’re coming around. Maybe he left something at Mila’s and she’s decided to drop it off when running errands or something. Sighing, he pauses Netflix, drags himself off the couch and shuffles to the door, his blanket wrapped round his shoulders like a cape.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Yuri demands when he opens the door and sees Otabek of all people standing there. “You decided to just hop on the next plane to St Petersburg or something?”

“Um, yeah,” Otabek mumbles, brushing a hand through his hair as a faint blush spreads across his cheeks. With his other hand, he holds up a bag from the local convenience store. “I also got food. Wanted to make sure you were actually going to eat something today.”

Through the thin white plastic of the bag, Yuri spots a familiar label. “You got me Pringles.” They’re one of his favourite foods that he’s not really supposed to eat when he’s training, but they’re also what he really wants right now.

Otabek grins. “I did.”

“Have I told you how much I love you recently?” Yuri asks, making a grab for the bag. Looking like a kid at Christmas, he takes the lid off the Pringles and tears at the paper/foil one, before taking several crisps out of the tube and putting them all into his mouth at once.

“Well, you’ve told the world about how much you love my dick, but apart from that, no, I don’t think so.”

“Oh my god, shut up,” Yuri says through a mouthful of crisps, rolling his eyes. “Come on, get in here.”

Day 1 - Start of stupid idea

Someone said that I should make diary. So here it is! I think it's one of that things that I will regret of and will want to burn, so no one can really see that it even existed. Like I did with previous one...

I will begin with 29.08.2020

Day 1 ; Saturday

I wake up and there was a dream where I walking in absolutely empty place like in deserts and something like shadows follow me.

I turned on my laptop and went do other things.

Then was going to do stuff like brush my teeths, etc. And when I was looked in the mirror I saw that my eye is swollen. Oh no.

It's 9:30. No one is online... I will play one game... it won't hurt

It's very peaceful day today... Very unusual... well expect that my brother is playing game and screaming on whole room with rude words.. . _ .

Omg... My brother screaming so mad... and my mom doesn't even care...

Nothing is really happening,literally nothing. It's weird.

Also I have no idea how diary should looks like.

I will start to write document with evidences very soon.. let's say in 12:00

Also after I finish this document, I will start to write a book. Why?

Before that I was checking reddit, discord, twitter and vkontakte.

I had conversation with a TeachSinPurseSon on the reddit. I think they want to begin a campaign soon to collect some money for me.

Oh my god... I just remembered that my paypal account is made on my father. This is mean.. If I want to withdraw these money he can steal everything... I wanted to make my account on my mother, but she said that she scared that I will make credit on her or something else and she will got to jail, she don't trust paypal, she thinks that it's something for stealing money. So she said make account on my father, so I create it.

I ate only pizza yesterday (and some cookies). But what about today? it's 12:12

15:09 My brother started make fun of my eye is swollen. Calling me an asian or calling me a chinese. After a while (15:15) he start yelling that he need to reset internet modem because he don't have internet to play his games. I said no, because my I and my mom have internet. He start calling me "narrow-eyed faggot with glasses". Start yelling at me that I should stop and there is no wi-fi. I tell him "It's not my fault that you can't play your game" on this he respond with "No, it's your fault... Everything is your fault!". And after a while he calm down and start to play PUPG Mobile an yelling at everyone and his friends.

It’s a blog for a reason

Idk if i’ll keep up with this actually or not but its a blog for a reason, they’re places were you can talk about whatever the fuck you want. I said Id do the same thing with my personal blog but also I follow some friends on that blog and they probably don't want to hear about the stuff I get up to or my little depressive episodes. I mean sure they’ll show their concern but that only goes so far I guess. 

Idk I mean it’s just a place for me to talk, I once started a google docs document where I had the idea to start writing like a guide? i guess you could call it but where I would write the name of someone I knew, one of my friends, a family member, ex boyfriends, whoever then I would create an entry of who they were, their interactions with me, my relationship with them and what I thought of them or their like defining character traits or actions that stood out to me. The benefit with this though I guess is that I can just type whatever comes to mind as i type it. Sometimes it could be organized and tie into older posts if I keep up with it or it could just be on the fly stories and recollections of thing that have happened to me or what I’m feeling at the time. Ive meant or at least had the idea to actually physically write this or start a journal where I could do the same thing but that would take me much longer to do where typing I can do much faster and get more thoughts out. Plus writing for so long and about so much makes my hand hurt after a while and I can’t talk about all I wanted to because I can't keep writing. I don't have that problem with typing XD

I guess I could start with some recent events that have been on my mind. So I guess about like 2 months ago? I had gotten a Tinder. That in itself was an event XD Ive always been both curious and scared of it because in my mind meeting someone on tinder doesn't feel as genuine when meeting someone by chance or passing or words between friends to meet someone new. But I had gotten one and within a few weeks I had made quite a few matches, however none of them seemed really into it. Half of them never messaged me back and only seemed to be there for the sake of getting a match, others may have talked back but didn't seem interested in trying to start something or meet up for a date. I had finally gotten one guy to go on a date with me, I had never really talked to him but Ive seen his face around because we had some friends within the same social group but like I said, never really met or talked to him only seen him on like instagram before. We had gone on one date and texted a bit but he just wasnt for me. I called him a “real flower child” is the best way I can describe it. Now I don't mean to offend anyone but also who the fuck is gonna read all this, this is only my first like text blog post no one really cares its more for me to get this out. Anyway I call him a real flower child because he's very outdoorsy and loves nature and Lana Del Ray and has the whole nose ring piercing, curly hair, circular glasses, he actually said once “the world make me sad” as he took a bath with candles and a bath bomb, he also said “wine makes me cry” which I mean ok maybe wine does make people drunk cry but still its all about his aesthetic. Its a fun aesthetic but that’s just not for me.

After him I had an occasional match but I ran into the same problem where either no one wanted to talk and was just there for a match or they never seemed interested. I had given up on the app really but I kept it around because in the back of my head I'm thinking like alright, its all good, I'm a patient person it just takes some time, you never know I may meet someone actually, and then last week I matched with two guys. One that lives on the other side of Columbus and one that lives just outside of Easton. The one on the other side of Columbus is really cute and had a lot of the same interests and is just kinda quirky and fun, I just haven't met him yet but we both want to meet up. Now the other one I’ll just say J, he lives outside of Easton and I went on my first date with him on Sunday. It was a good day, we had wandered around Easton, gone out to eat and saw a movie. He also has a lot of the same interests as me, video games, some anime, youtube, but thats about it actually now that I think about it. He's a little rough, like more aggressive but in a sarcastic way I guess. But we vibe well together i feel. Shorter than me, has contacts, wears glasses occasionally mostly at home really. He's 21 as well which I mean sure Im 19 but I guess thats where Im also attracted to him because he's a little older, he’s more mature than some of my past boyfriends but also has a childish side like me. Thats where we’re similar. We went and saw Mother! which I guess was supposed to be a phycological thriller but it was really dumb to us, it didn't make much sense. I was during the movie where I first kissed him, I had wanted to earlier as well but I didn’t feel like it was right yet. It made me laugh though that that was the movie we saw and decided ah yes, this is a good movie to kiss and cuddle and hold hands to. 

After the movie I didn't quite want to leave yet because I was getting pretty attached to him that night so we went back to his apartment for the night. I watched him play Skyrim for a bit, he let me try out Overwatch while him and his roommate had gone to get her some pizza. Which I thought like alrighty, this is okay, just leave me alone at your apartment even though I literally just physically met you today. They came back after like a half hour, eventually me and him went back to his room, we made out for a good while on and off. He wanted to take a bath together which I had never done before. My last boyfriend had suggested it but I never really wanted to much. We got the water running for a second but I was really anxious, I had gotten my shirt off but I didn't take off my pants. He was already in his underwear, it took me a second but eventually he also kinda forced me as in getting close and kissing me then pulling down my shorts and underwear. I was really awkward at that point. It took me like 2 months before my last boyfriend had seen me naked and no one before him has seen me naked, its just not my thing its weird, I just don't like it much. But anyway so we had gotten in the shower instead, I was still pretty anxious. My legs were shaking I was hugging my body, it was just generally uncomfortable but within a few minutes I had mostly gotten over it. It just make me feel really weird. After the shower we got out and just laid on his bed for a bit still naked. I had gotten over it by that time but there was still some after feelings that I guess I didn't notice as much since we were making out again. Eventually we but our underwear back on and a t shirt and went to bed after about another hour or so.

The next morning we just stayed in bed really until I had to leave to go back home because mom was wondering where I was, I had texted her last night that I was staying there with him so that was taken care of. Eventually I got home and that was that. He had actually invited me to a party one of his coworkers was having that night but I had already stayed with him one night and I had to but up early the next morning for work so I told him no I couldn't which of course he was pouting over a little but in a playful way that you would when your flirting with someone. So that night I actually ended up going to a party at my other friends house till like 1am but THAT was ok because he only lived like 5 minutes away from home compared to an hour that J lived. That was  Monday night, the first date was Sunday and I stayed with J Sunday night. I worked early on Thursday morning but then he came out to my house that afternoon. We played some Mario Kart Double Dash at my house then drove out to my friends house Ive been housesitting for to technically grab some wires for my Wii but then we ended up taking another bath in their huge bathtub with jets for about an hour and a half which was nice. I was used to being naked with J by now. We watched some youtube while in the bath, made out for a bit again. Then we got dressed and drove back to my house. By the time we got back it was about 1am when I wanted to get to bed because between Sunday and Monday night I had gotten about 8 hours of sleep total. So he left and that was Tuesday. Now yesterday, Wednesday I worked again early in the morning, then I went back out to Columbus and saw J again for a few hours, we played some gamecube again, I went with him to get groceries, then me and him went out to eat. Came back and laid in his bed in our underwear again watching youtube and cuddling and kissing until it was about 11:30 then I went home again. 

Idk what to make of J, I like him, he's the farthest Ive been on a first date thats for sure. I enjoy his company but do I? Or is it just because I haven't had any sort of attention like this in almost 6 months? Like I had said we share some similar interests. Video games, some music, a little bit of anime and legos. He's pretty sweet with me but also he's a little more aggressive than me, which I mean Im okay with kinda. challenge me a little, don't be afraid to playfully challenge and fight me. But don't be an ass about it. Idk theres the other kid on the other side of Columbus who I've been snap chatting as well but Ive been giving J most of my attention.

Erica Vrabec 1/13/2017 Assignment

Part 1

1. My earliest memory of social media was in sixth grade. I distinctly remember hearing people talk about some video they had watched. I was fascinated by the idea of everyone being able to see some video, with going over to someones house and watching the saved file on their computer. Up to that point, that was really the only way I knew how to share videos. Or emailing them I guess. But anyway, I asked one of the boys what video they were talking about and how they saw it. He told me to go on YouTube and watched ‘muffins’ the video. I went home and it took me a minute to find the site but I did.

My earliest memory of a family member using social media is probably finding my brother on Facebook. I was a little late to join Facebook, waiting until high school to make an account where I remember people in middle school talking about having a Facebook. But i joined in 2011 and saw my older brother already had an account. I was surprised since he never mentioned it before, but immediately went to friend request him. He ignored my request FOR YEARS. He didn't want to be associated with his kid sister on Facebook. I guess I was not cool enough, even though he hardly ever uses Facebook. I don't think we became Facebook friends until 2013.

2. The first thing I ever subscribed to was a hard copy magazine that I got monthly. So when I started using social media more, I found their website which took me to their Facebook and blag page. I followed them on Facebook and their blog right then. The blog gave small insights into what was going to be featured in the upcoming magazine issue and featured small stories and articles that didn't make it into the magazine. They posted pictures regularly also and even had polls to see what readers would like to see more of. I read the blog because of my interest in their magazine and their content. I loved that blog because it gave me something to look forward to seeing everyday, look for new content, and explore more about something I already enjoyed. It also made me look forward to the magazine more, and got me reading more articles. I think blogs are much different today, because now they do not need to be associated with a print publication to get the same attention and audience. If anything, blogs and vlogs are taking over print sources. I also think blogs are more appealing to younger audiences, since we are always on our smart devices, blogs are easier to access and have more variety of topics to explore than just what the newspaper prints.

3. So far I have made sure all my social media accounts are professional, up to date, and private. I know companies have ways around privacy settings and can still see information about you, but I feel these settings help keep other people from commenting or posting unnecessary things on my pages. For example on Facebook, I only befriend people I know and am close with. I do not allow random people to be my friend and I often get rid of friends I do not feel are contributing to my social media experience. I like to keep my profiles organized and clean. I also think taking all these media classes and getting the Social Media Certificate is a great way to prepare for a media related career.

Part 2

1. Just the other day in my Communication and Technology class, someone brought up the point that if you post certain content on reedit, it may be quite popular, but that same content might not fly on Facebook. Uses have changed the use and social rules relating to specific platforms. Facebook is for our family and close friends, so you might not post about how you drank so much you blacked out last night on there. But maybe on Snap chat where you only have your close college friends, you have videos and pictures documenting last nights drunken events. Another way uses have changed social media is with updates. The emoji has taken texting and any kinda of virtual communication by storm. People wanted more emojis, and specific ones. So a taco, and a burrito emoji were created along with many others. But the company listened to the people. They created specific content that the users had demanded. Finally, Social Media has changed they way we communicate. Users have developed a new language that is text specific. LOL, IDK, JK, just to name a few shortened versions of longer phrases. Also, people use informal typing practices such as using ‘U’ in place of the word ‘you’. Each of these examples show that the internet and how we use it, is mold able to our own needs and wants. The internet can be shaped and changed based on users experainces with its content and how they interact with it.

2. A prediction I have for the future is how Social Media is going to shape our lives. We have become as a society so connected and attached to social media and sharing and liking and commenting on content it can be hard to separate users from their beloved platforms. I remember being in middle school and even in high school and having almost every website blocked to avoid distractions. We had to find other websites and platforms to use and entertain us, or find ways around the security blocks. I think in the future this trend will become even bigger. People will try and find ways to modify platforms to be school and work friendly, or ways to by-pass heavy firewalls. Another prediction for the future is the changing of geo location technology. I think a lot of people are starting to realize the harm that can be done when you share your location with the whole world all the time. With the DAP, people used Facebook to confuse officials who were trying to locate protesters on Facebook, and made it harder to tell who was actually in that location. But you can see the danger here, the world can check and see when you are not home and go rob your house. Or follow you to a location and rob you. In the future I think less people will use geo-location, or at least there will be privacy and security changes made it the technology. Finally for the future, I think live videos feeds are going to hopefully phase out because personally they annoy me, but more and more platforms are adopting this feature so it is probably going to become more popular. Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter have all added these features to their arsenal. Being able to connect with friends, and fans live and interact with them in real time is  very appealing to some people.

Thomas- I just woke up in the middle of the night and I had to type this because I had a dream that you were in and I don't wanna go back to sleep and risk forgetting it. This is really long, so I'm gonna put it under a read more and hope that you see this.

So I work in a bakery, and for some reason my job was my "house". My father (that I cut out of my life over a year ago), a brother (also cut out of my life and is in prison for domestic violence) and my grandmother (passed away in 2005) were all in it. Now I think the dream was kind of a timelapse over the course of a few months. It started out with me discovering you on tumblr and vine, and I eventually worked up the courage to message you. We exchanged messages and chatted for a bit and you were incredibly sweet (no surprise). You talked to me about your anxiety and your self-consciousness and I was there supporting you through it when you were extremely low. Again, seems like it was a timelapse, because we seemed to have been really close.

You eventually asked if I wanted to hang out (we were somehow in the same area?) and I of course said yes. So you showed up in front of my house (the bakery (???)) and I come out from the kitchen to the storefront and smile and wave. My father is sitting in the front and it was obvious to me by the way I acted that he and I weren't close in my dream. I kinda muttered that I was stepping out for a bit and he said okay, so I go outside and we hug and start walking and talking. You take a short video of us together, just to document our meeting I suppose? and I think you were posting it on either Snapchat or instagram. Maybe both. But right after that (we had barely gotten to talk or walk around) my father pokes his head out of the shop and demands that I come back inside. You seemed concerned by the way he was acting and followed me, I assume to make sure I was okay (sweetie). So I go back inside and in the back my grandmother was on the floor with a huge pile of vomit beside her. My father comes back in the kitchen and tells me she had overdosed on drugs and he had to take her to the hospital. (My grandmother was diabetic and could barely walk on her own while she was still alive, she never did drugs as far as I know. This part was completely inaccurate, but you know how dreams are.) You're in front and you can't see what's going on in the kitchen, so you get concerned and just barge into the back and see what's going on. I'm extremely embarrassed because my (apparently) drug-addict grandmother was having a complete episode in front of you the first time we met. I remember her asking me for keys and I was kind of tearing up and my cheeks were burning and I said "I don't have any damn keys." My father takes her out of the shop and I'm left to clean up the vomit (ugh), and to my surprise you help me. So I start crying and apologising for what you saw and you just hugged me and kinda pet my hair and told me everything was going to be okay. The grandmother thing happened a few more times in the timelapse and every time you were either physically there for me or you were supporting me through messages. There was also a part with a dog? I don't know what that was about but I had a really derpy dog on my lap and I was petting it and baby talking it and I just remember you sitting there and kinda watching me with figurative heart eyes lol. I (unsurprisingly) ended up developing feelings for you but I wasn't asleep long enough to find out if the feelings were mutual.

So I just wanted to let you know that even in my dreams you were a special and absolutely irreplacable person in my life. We were there for each other through dark times and through it all you were always full of love and laughter and constantly made me smile. I just. Ugh. Thomas. You have no idea how much of a wonderful person you are. You're modest and you sell yourself short so much. I wish humans had the ability to see themselves from another person's eyes for a day, I think it would destroy the concept of self-consciousness.

Anyway I'm kind of rambling and getting sappy now, but I just had to tell you all of that to hopefully lift your spirits like you did for me. In my dream, that is. Idk I'm dumb omg this message is way too long I have to be up for work in 2 hours and I need to go back to sleep. I'M GOING NOW. Blowing kisses your way.
