I just finished Empire of Storms, the 5th book in the Throne of Glass series. With only two books left, now is a good time for me to vomit all of my theories on how it’s gonna end.

1. With the silent assassin finally making an appearance at the very end of this book, all of the peeps from the assassins blade stories have come back into play…. EXCEPT the healer that was traveling to the southern continent. Oh wait, who was it that got hurt one book ago and was headed to the southern continent to find a healer? Thats right. My man Choal. My money is that Choal meets the healer and they team up. Idk how they team up yet. Cause Choals gf is the one that is escorting him to the souther continent and a new love interest would be awk-ward af.

2. And while I’m talking about healers, healing magic happened a lot this book and I know that is important. We learned this book that healing magic can cure or pull out poison. And Maas also loves to describe the valg that take over human bodies as a poison or a sickness that festers. I’m 60% sure a powerful healer (aka healer from the assassins blade) can expel a valg demon without killing its host. But why is there a need to expel a valg demon from a host??? Unless…

3. Someone we love is going to become a host to a valg demon. Idk who yet. Definitely not Dorian. My best guesses are Aedion or Choal.

4. Speaking of Valg… wtf is Maeve’s plan with the valg. Shes not dumb, she knows they will eventually come for her… there’s gotta be more there! She’s old as f*ck so she’s gotta have some beef or a back story with them. And she had the Wyrdkeys before Brannon stole them… was she the one that let the valg king in!?!?!? Did her and her sisters come out of the Wyrdgate?!?!? Does she want her own valg army!?!?

5. Aedions and his dad bond and start to form a solid relationship… then his dad dies in some cool sacrificial hero way… and my heart will heart.

6. I am 80% sure Elide is going to die. Love her, but she’s totes gonna die saving Aelin just like her mom (there is too much foreshadowing for this not to happen). And if she doesn’t die then she is going to almost die saving Aelin but Lorcan takes her place at the last second.

7. This one is out there… but neither Dorian or Aelin is going to die to make the lock. Dorian has a little brother that we are not emotionally attached too. He’s got havilliard blood too and can forge the lock just as well as Dorian could. So he could be the sacrifice and I’d still get to keep the characters I’m emotionally attached to. Regardless… where the f*ck is his brother and will we see him at all? Why mention that he has an evil brother if we aren’t going to see him at all in the 7 books.

8. They will converge at Terresan… and Aelins dog and Lysandas adopted daughter girl is in Terresan. The only spoiler ive gotten is that the dog loves throughout the entire story. But I really reallly want her to do something epic.

I adore Steve and I adore Nancy but idk wtf they think they're doing this season, why are they trying to make us think they're happening again, they're not. They spent the last three seasons with Jonathan and Nancy together all the time and in love, Nancy is my baby but she did Steve dirty ( he fucked up too in S1 but he apologized and then made up for it) and then they never basically interacted again, he really loved her it seems and she didn't feel the same and she dumped him( she didn't even dump him technically) and got together with Jonathan five seconds later and I love her and Jonathan so truly again idk wtf they're doing, if it's just gonna be Steve pining again for no reason I don't understand I'm truly confused I wish we had the last 2 episodes because this is like such a perplexing choice, are they trying to like have my boy Steve die sacrificing himself for her or something? I just don't get it!!!!!

the main thing annoying me about the whole thing is that it was very awkwardly inserted into the plot line. while i DO have my ships in the show, i am much more interested in the mystery element of the show. that’s part of why ep7 was my fave; i really loved el in the lab and finding out the origins of vecna. and i was excited for steve, nancy, and others to play detective and find out about kreel and vecna, but then they’d just randomly add side comments and moments about steve and nancy??

while it didn’t completely take away from that plot line or anything, i just found the general inclusion of it to be weird. they made a whole point in s2, and part of s1 to make nancy fall out of love with steve. and i know it’s possible for two people to get together after they’ve matured, but againnn it’s just a limited amount of eps per season. so i just see it as a time waster to have nancy just go back and forth and create drama with her in this never ending love triangle.

my most major issue with this stuff tho is just the treatment of nancy in general. i think nancy is awesome, but i truly feel like she’s been being used as a vessel for male attention. why can nancy not just… be nancy? why is she always someone’s gf or someone’s ex-gf? even in her convos with robin, they talked so much about her relationships. i still loved their dynamic but i would have loved it more if their convos were centered on more interesting things.

okokok liiiiiike grief is so sad and awful lol. my chest hurts. it’s even more painful and confusing when the person you’re grieving isn’t really dead they’re just part of a did system and don’t exist in the outside world rlly anymore. like wtf. i miss my not dead dead ex gf so bad sometimes dude. like i’m glad that relationship ended ultimately it wasn’t stable or healthy for anyone but like the last time i saw her was the night i broke up with her and she was screaming and saying really hurtful things that i still think about and then i never saw her again. and i was still sooooooooooo in love with her i just knew it needed to end and then they called me on the phone a week after i ended things and i could tell it wasn’t her and she’s kind of just non existent now and someone else hosts full time now. it’s just so weird never getting closure and having the last image of her being that night. i think about it all the time even though it was over a year ago. part of me wants to talk to her and get closure bc i know she does front occasionally at this point but i’ve grieved her like she’s dead for a year and i think if i saw her or talked to her now i’d projectile vomit. which is kind of funny and strange to say bc i am still friends w my ex (the new host) and we talk semi-regularly and get dinner every once in a while and it’s fine but He’s not Her. u know. he doesn’t act like her he doesn’t talk like her he doesn’t like the same things he’s a completely different gender and expression than her he doesn’t move his body or hold his face like she does, i always tell him it’s like i’m hanging out with my dead ex girlfriends twin brother. like they are definitely two different people and i would never get them mixed up but sometimes he smiles in a certain way and i catch a glimpse of similarity in their faces and i’m like FUCK u do look like her. instant stomach pit. but it’s mostly fine. if i saw Her though it would genuinely feel like seeing a ghost. horrifying. but god i fucking miss her. as a person not a partner. she was so funny and silly and we could talk for hours about anything and she was bitchy in a way that just tickled me. and she’s so fucking smart. he’s just as smart but she just had the most interesting perspective and philosophies and knew what the fuck she wanted. i wish we could be friends but i think it would really make me freak. and i would probably still be madly in love with her bc she is like if i made a woman in a lab for myself in all the surface level ways but we could never work realistically. i guess i’ll just think about her everyday and have strange cryptic dreams about her every night until i die. life of a dyke.

I had weirdly vivid dreams last night that I actually remembered when I woke up

First one was my dad’s wedding. It actually wasn’t to his IRL GF, it was just some vaguely strawberry blonde lady. I didn’t even make it to the actual ceremony, it was all just the weird weird lead up. So apparently it was tradition to have family of the people getting married come down the aisle...? I literally remember having memories in the dream of walking down the aisle in a distant cousin’s wedding (this did not happen IRL... dream memories freak me tf out). Anyway, I was nervous to walk down the aisle at my dad’s wedding because I don’t like being the center of attention (this would not be a problem IRL but alas) and I was going to be the last to be announced/walk because I am the closest family member to my dad (this is true actually lol). So basically my uncle and his friend walked down the aisle goofy and I kind of just tacked on to them. When I got to the altar my dad was like wtf you didn’t even do your own walk???? then I remember thinking... this isn’t the first time my dad has had a second wedding that I have been at... what ever happened to his wedding with Bee? (HIS LITERAL IRL EX-GF!! they never were engaged IRL but apparently in the dream they had made it to the alter and then not gotten married) never did figure that one out. and that’s all on that.

Second one was weirdly like a movie. SOOOO I was friends with this hijabi girl, and we were in college. We stormed into (??? some building? the title IX office maybe??) together. (douchas was the ig handle of her rapist... not sure how we knew this but we did. not sure how we had his ig handle but not his identity but whatever its dream logic) and the leader of this boy group at the table goes: “Douchas? Like, Sam Douchas?” and stares at his friend WHO IS SAM DOUCHAS OWNER OF THE IG ACCOUNT DOUCHAS AND WHO RAPED MY FRIEND!! THE OTHER TWO GUYS DIDN’T KNOW!!! anyway things got real serious at that point and i started getting up in who we now knew as Sam, my friend’s rapist’s face, like taking pictures of him??? and the cop like started coming around to get him??? but then Sam like took some pills that interacted with pills he was already on (dunno how i knew this but again dream logic) to try to kill himself. he started coughing up this insulation type stuff after he ran into the bathroom and was like choking to death but i pulled it out of his mouth so he wouldn’t die and the cop could arrest him. that was where it ended
