Currently rotting, so I present:
The Quiet Council playing Minecraft
Charles: Tries to establish a community with order and rules, fails horribly. Forgets that it's just a game and gets way too involved in Minecraft Server Politics. Eventually just closes the server.
Erik: Hangs out with Ororo. Illyana or Beto probably showed him the game so he knows what he's doing, but he's here to relax. Way too sick of Charles to help him.
Apocalypse: Uses his Celestial tech to play because his hands are too large for normal human tech. Still can't run shaders.
Irene: Sits by Raven and tells her what she needs to do. Just happy to lay her head on her wife's shoulder, and to ruin Charles's day.
Raven: Gets competitive, immediately wants the best gear. Keeps stealing Charles's stuff when Irene tells her he won't notice. Describes the beautiful things she sees in detail to Irene and builds a flower garden for them both.
Nathaniel: Spends the entire time making his skin. When he does get into the game, he griefs Charles's house and then harrasses Apocalypse with TNT. Eventually gets bored, sets his game to creative, and blows up everything.
Emma: Collects all the types of cats and spends time building a beautiful base with Kate. As in, Kate gets the resources and builds the base, while Emma gives directions and adds details
Kate: Pretty good at the game. Harrasses Shaw and griefs his village. Loves resource gathering and mining.
Sebastian: Spends his time levelling up villagers and turning them to zombies + curing them so he gets the best deals.
Selene: Doesn't understand the villagers are NPCs, so she sets up a cult in a village to worship her. Secretly, she gets a little attached to them. She also builds plenty of Iron Golems.
Hope: Probably a Minecraft pro. Basically speedruns the best gear and farms while dragging Bennet along with her. At first, she tells Bennet to get her resources, but after he keeps getting lost/dying she just does it herself.
Bennet: Has no idea what's going on, but follows Hope around and does what she says. Easily gets lost without her. He likes the armor and weapons, he feels like a knight again.
Piotr: Collects a bunch of animals, and has an army of dogs. I imagine he names them after flowers and dyes their collars to match. Of course sets up large farms.
Kurt: Doesn't really know how to play the game. Tries to help Charles at first, but eventually goes out on his own or helps Piotr on his farms.
Ororo: Hangs out with Erik. Charles kept asking her to help him build a community but she was more interested in building and mining with Erik.
Jean: Knows how to play through Rachel and Teen Cable. Probably tries to sneak Scott onto the server but he says no. Also tries to help Charles but gets sick of him.
Doug: Secretly competing with Hope. Failing miserably, but he's still having a great time.
Krakoa: Asking Doug questions about the game. Eventually tries to recreate Minecraft biomes on the island. It becomes a major emergency because suddenly skeletons and zombies are appearing at night and attacking mutants.

Who makes the first move and how?
What two songs, two books and two luxury items do they take to a desert island?
What do they hide from one another?
When the zombie apocalypse comes, how do they cope together?
Why do they fight?
Why do they need to have a serious chat?
When one has a cold, what does the other do?
When they fight, how do they make up?
What first changes when it starts getting serious?
ooh these are good ones, thank you for the ask! answers below:
Who makes the first move and how?
It was Illyana's idea to go to the concert where they had their first kiss, but Atticus was the one who kissed her in the heat of the moment. They mutually agree the answer was 'both of them'.
What two songs, two books and two luxury items do they take to a deserted island?
Atticus: All I Want is You by Ball Park Music, House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski (he finds it relatable... for some reason) and probably a nice pair of shoes or something.
Illyana: Master of Puppets by Metallica, The Collected Poems by Sergei Yesenin (she genuinely likes Russian poetry) and very, very fancy booze.
What do they hide from each other?
They both have an extremely bad habit of hiding emotional and mental distress from each other. They want to be each others rock, even when it means being deceptive about their own problems. More comedically Illyana hides her collection of Dazzler records from Atticus to preserve her 'image'.
When the zombie apocalypse comes, how do they cope together?
Illyana drags poor Atti into magic stuff so often that zombie apocalypses are basically old hat. Illyana loves getting to chop through things guilt-free, and Atticus knows he's probably going to be fine with her (plus The Garden can always serve as a hideaway anyway).
Why do they fight?
These are two people who can both be very stubborn and very self-sacrificing. They argue about everything. It's normally good-natured, but if it's serious it's usually because one of them has done something dangerous and foolish without telling the other. Atticus also over-worries about Illyana when she's on missions, and that can cause plenty of arguments (including the one right before the Phoenix Five incident.), it doesn't help that Illyana is very close to Scott and Atticus doesn't particularly like the guy.
Why do they need to have a serious chat?
Even though it's been three years and affected her so deeply, Illyana Will Not talk about Atticus' death. Any attempt by Atticus to talk about it is shut down instantly, and if it's brought up by others she gets particularly nasty. It doesn't help that they were coming out of a rough patch right before it happened and Illyana couldn't do anything to save him.
When one has a cold, what does the other do?
Butler Atticus, at your service. This man will drop everything to look after Illyana; blankets, pillows, snacks, anything to make her feel better. Illyana doesn't go quite that far, since she's usually pretty busy, but she does check in on him all the time.
When they fight, how do they make up?
They will usually try and hash it out after a few hours. Atticus is usually the one to apologize first, since Illyana can stay irritated for longer periods of time and it'll make Atticus feel bad.
What first changes when it starts getting serious?
The other New Mutants noticed that Illyana was A. Being way less grouchy and B. Constantly hovering around Atticus when she wasn't with Kitty. More seriously is that Illyana starts going to Atticus for support more often, and once he leaves the team she visits and stays with him constantly it becomes a poorly-kept secrets between students at Xavier's that they're together.

(immediately starts thinking of a DBD AU)
I feel like Doug wouldn't have been taken by the entity when he died (because I don't want him to be a teenager, though I'm just using the completely unexplained canon that he was somehow also a 20-something like all his friends when he came back even though he died at like 16), but when he came back.
He came back because a villain was using the techno-organic virus (the same kind Doug's alien best friend Warlock uses to feed) to revive dead mutants under her control (as evil zombies) because Doug already had the TO virus from fusing with Warlock + Warlock had stored a copy of his "code" + his other friend Illyana's soulsword could purify him he was able to be brought back properly. Maybe the entity takes him before hes saved and uses him as a puppet? Killer!Doug for a plot twist?

PHASE 2
2015: Little Paper Dolls: The team arrives in Canada and quickly track down the source of the strange telepathic message, however things don't quite seem right; X-Force storms the underground base, having far more fun with it than should be legal; Jean and Emma find the source of the distress call, and Emma and the strange girls clearly do not get on; someone touched something they shouldn't have, and suddenly it's all going to hell; even if the other you isn't really you at all, talking to ‘yourself’ is an incredibly surreal experience, and it doesn't help when they're both incredibly paranoid. Miles makes a journal entry about how awesome the new Star Wars movie is. Molly and Topaz brave the mall to go Christmas shopping.
2016: Jean wonders what the mansion thinks are the best Christmas movies to introduce to her niece and nephew.
2017:
2018: The Danger Room Paradox: Maya boasts about being a Star Wars hotshot pilot; Laurie texts Kyle about arguing with Jean about wanting to cut into Natasha’s head to cure the zombie virus; Terry texts Kyle to let him know Minecraft doesn’t count as a second date.
2019:
2020: Operation: Siege Perilous: X-Force holds a briefing on a new case, a series of deaths where the cause is unknown but they look drained of all life energy and it’s decided Jean should be brought in for psychic help; Gabe and Natasha go to a dump site to look for clues; Kevin and Clea call on a member of the magical underground; Amanda brings tea while Wanda hits the books; Marie-Ange gives new recruit Topaz a lesson in field work; Artie and Amanda meet after using their respective resources and finding nothing; back at the office, Doug starts teaching the injured Jubilee more about computer research; Jean and Emma look for psychic residue in Central Park and are ambushed by the culprit, a psionic parasite called Roma who pulls all of them into a pretend dimension; in Roma’s dimension, X-Force is called on to protect Dr. Strange, who is being attacked by the Black Court of the Hellfire Club, breaking a truce between the two groups; both groups set about locating Illyana Rasputin, the Hellfire Club so they can steal her Soulsword, X-Force because Strange left hints about her and the Darkhold, a mythical magic text; Cypher is hired by both groups to assist, but sets up X-Force in a trap when he tells them Illyana’s location but not that the Hellfire Club will be there; meanwhile, Sarah Morlocke looks for help from X-Force as her people are vanishing; during the ambush, leader Remy Lebeau is captured and Natasha Romanoff and Wanda Maximoff killed while Felicia Hardy is rescued from certain death by the enemy, Gabriel Cohuelo; Cypher kills Charlie Plunder back at X-Force headquarters; Remy is brought before Selene, the Black Queen and manages to kill Sebastian Shaw before being killed by the Black Knight, Amanda Sefton; the remaining team arrives back home to find Charlie’s body and Sarah letting them know a mass abduction of the Morlocks has taken place; in a suicide mission to stop Selene getting the Soulsword, X-Force attacks the ritual; Jubilee is killed by Amanda before Amanda is herself killed by X-Forcer Adam Destine; Kevin, disguised as North, is taken before Selene and reveals the reason for his disguise - he has hidden forty pounds of Semtex in the gut of the larger man which went unnoticed; Kevin blows himself up and badly injures Selene; in a series of flashbacks, Kevin undermines Gabe’s loyalty to the Hellfire Club; Remy meets clandestinely with the magically-enslaved Emma Frost and makes her a deal; Amanda sees the departure of her lover Marie-Ange as the result of Remy’s death; back to the ‘current time’, Emma turns on Selene and with Adam’s help infuses Jean with the power of the Darkhold, which had previously been in Illyana; Black Court members Topaz and Clea attack Adam while he’s vulnerable, but Emma saves him and he teleports out with Illyana; Jean battles Selene, killing her with the combined power of the Darkhold and… something else; the amount of power Jean carried lets her reveal Roma’s machinations and with Emma helping her stay sane, defeats her and uses the pent-up psychic energy released by her death to heal the cracks in Xorn’s patchwork universe and exposes the truth about M-Day; X-Force return to themselves, realising no time has passed at all and that the other world wasn’t real; Emma calls everyone back to talk about the ramifications; Jean, distraught about what she has learned, goes to Kevin (who was her lover in Roma’s dimension) for comfort. He does his best but emotions are weird.
2021: On the day of X-Force’s office relocation to District X, Artie texts Amanda to remind her she needs to pack up her cubicle; Jubilee helps Kevin pack his bar; Kevin and Felicia check out a potential new local ‘The Original Kirby’s’; Darcy helps Wanda organise the layout for the new “Weird Magic Shite” offices and storage; Jubilee lets X-Force know she and Clarice will be handing out wine candy in the new office’s reception area, in costume; Marie-Ange and Topaz work on unpacking Avalon-lite - one of the back offices in the new building.

Inferno
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Daarnaast zien we ook in de Fantastic Four een deel van het subplot zich ontvouwen, met name in FF Special 27.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Inferno
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

We open with a dream sequence from Max. He’s watching the New Mutants fight Sentinels and then the Hellions until he interrupts the action and tells them it’s time for bed. They casually say their goodnights and walk over to lay down in their graves and go to sleep. He’s been having the nightmare every night since the end of Secret Wars II; it’s the projection of his students’ psychic anguish. The kids are empty shells of their former selves, traumatized by the full memory of their brutal murders at the whims of the Beyonder (except for Berto, who still hasn’t returned). They haven’t told Max what happened, and he’s helpless and frustrated, wishing Xavier were here to help them. But another telepath arrives to offer her assistance- Emma Frost. Frost tells Max that he can’t help them the way she can and says she can take the New Mutants to her school to give them the psychic counseling they need. He tells her to go to hell, and she leaves, warning him not to let his pride be the kids’ downfall. As the days drag on, the New Mutants get worse and worse. They no longer put effort into classes or take joy from anything. Dani gets a visit from Thor, who at this point has been turned into a frog and can sense a Valkyrie. He tries to inspire her to reclaim her old self and her love for life before hopping off to do his stuff in the Thor book. It doesn’t cheer Dani up, but it does make her at least want to get better. There’s been a lot of links between the Thor and mutant books recently, which will culminate in a crossover in Massacre. It’s because Louise Simonson, although no longer Claremont’s editor, is still one of the only people he collaborates with on his plots, and she’s currently dating Walt Simonson, her soon to be husband and the writer on Thor. Max continues to be torn up by his lack of control over the situation, unaware that his doubts are being exaggerated and directed by Empath on the orders of Frost. He decides to take her up on her offer and transfers all his students to the Massachusetts Academy. Dani has enough spirit left to refuse, and Warlock wasn’t affected by the trauma the same way as the others, but the rest of the kids mindlessly follow their new headmistress out of the school.
Sam and Doug are welcomed by Thunderbird and Jetstream, who seem genuinely friendly to their new classmates. But they’re weirded out by the zombie-like behavior of the former Xavier students. Empath tries to dominate the new girls, but they have no emotions to manipulate, and the other Hellions beat him up. Catseye in particular is thrilled to see Rahne again. Frost keeps her word and seems to care about the kids as she alters their memories of their trauma. They’re so grateful that they agree to stay. Back in New York, Max is drinking his sorrows away while Dani decides to go back home to her parents. She feels awful for abandoning her friends but doesn't know anything else to do. She fears that the future she saw months ago of her teammates converted to Hellions is now coming true and tells Max it’s his fault. She bids goodbye to Warlock, now the only student left, and flies off on Brightwing. At the Academy, it seems all is not perfect, and the New Mutants are having violent nightmares that Frost can’t find the cause of. All except for Illyana, who's spending all of her time in Limbo and has given up sleep. At the mansion, Tom and Sharon return. Weeks ago, when Empath was there to manipulate Max, they found and confronted him, but he told them they were in love with each other and wanted nothing else. It’s implied they’ve spent these weeks having sex nonstop until the influence finally wore off and they came to warn Max. This was really too far for Claremont to go, the story could have been accomplished so many other ways. But anyway, this is what happened, and Max puts all the pieces together and is beyond enraged. Frost can feel his anger from Massachusetts, but she has a plan. She calls the cops to say the evil terrorist Magneto is planning to kidnap her students, and they transfer her to the Avengers.
This is one of my favorite Avengers lineups; Captain America, Wasp, Hercules, Black Knight, Namor, and Monica Rambeau when she was going by Captain Marvel. Claremont writes a good Captain America in particular. They get the call about Max and immediately leave to intercept him. At the Academy, Frost is frustrated by the issues still plaguing the former New Mutants, which she can’t get to the bottom of. Warlock has transformed into a plane resembling the Blackbird so he can fly Max to Massachusetts. I really love their relationship. Warlock sees morality in black and white. Max has protected and loved him, so Warlock trusts and admires him completely. Max trusts and admires himself less than anyone else, but Warlock, maybe more so than any other student, makes him feel like he can be that hero. Warlock wants to kill Frost, but Max tells him they’re going to try for a peaceful solution and under no circumstances kill their enemies. Just then, the Avengers catch up. Not knowing the Blackbird is Warlock, Herc hits him full strength, almost killing him. Max flies them down to safety, prioritizing Warlock over all else, but he’s forced to battle the Avengers to draw them away from his student. Even ganged up on six to one and holding back so as not to kill them, Max is holding his own. He calls them out on their hypocrisy for believing in Namor’s redemption but not his own, to which Cap responds that Namor fought by his side in World War II. This understandably pisses Max off. At the Academy, Amara can sense Max ripping metal out of the ground miles away, and Illyana goes to investigate. She ports there, sees the scene, steals Cap’s shield, and returns. At the same time, Max has finally been overpowered, but Warlock regains enough strength to attack the Avengers. He’s about to kill them when Max stops him. He tells the Avengers if they let him heal Warlock he’ll turn himself over. The truce is wrecked when New Mutants return. Although they knew Frost would be mad, they refused to abandon their old teacher, and they port off with him and Warlock, leaving the Avengers wondering if they made a mistake. Max and Frost have a peace summit  and learn what’s wrong with the New Mutants. She healed their minds, but not their hearts. That part was done when their collective father figure tried to risk his life and sacrifice his freedom for them, helping them pull themselves out of their funk to save him. They’re all in agreement that they want to return home with Max, and they depart from Frost as uneasy allies.
There was a lot of really great stuff in this arc. I would have preferred a little more exploration of the New Mutants’ depression; the only one who gets a lot of thought bubbles is Dani, and she’s not as broken as the others. But it was still a good exploration of that pain and grief. Frost gets some really interesting development in this story. Although she manipulated the situation to get the New Mutants as pawns, she also did genuinely help them. She also doesn’t argue when they return to Max. On some level, it’s all part of her long game; she hopes all these good deeds and kindness will lead to the kids returning to her out of their own choice, which would be much more valuable than telepathic slaves. But we're getting more hints that she’s not evil all the way through. I’ll confess that the Frost/Hellions stuff is the part of this series where my knowledge has the biggest gaps, so this was a pleasant surprise; I didn’t Frost being this sympathetic this early in the series. She’s still very much a villain and will remain that way until Claremont leaves, but in this story he leans a lot more into her good side. I like that rather than it being an inner conflict for her, she finds a way to line up her good and evil urges towards the same goal. It’s very complex and interesting. This was also a great Max story; we’ve seen him fight for his students and care about them, but this is the first time he’s been in a position of choosing between them and himself, and he chooses them without an hesitation at all. It’s not really a revelation for him, but it’s a great moment for the audience to see. This is also where his students are put in the same position, and the fact that they’re willing to attack the Avengers for him is really sweet to see and really important for Max himself. This story is also one of the first instances of “the Avengers are cops” in the X-Men franchise. In 21st century stories especially, the Avengers have kinda sucked when it comes to the X-Men, never helping them with mutant issues and showing up full force any time they suspect the X-Men might be doing something wrong. So basically, cops interacting with real-life minorities, although the Avengers are usually just misguided assholes instead of malicious bigots. I guess really the first time that happened was Secret Wars (unless there’s something I haven’t read from the pre-Claremont years, which is possible cause I’ve barely read any of that), but this is the first time it’s happened under a writer who (a) cares about the X-Men and (b) actually knows how to write. I don’t want this to sound like I’m bashing the Avengers, because I really do like them, although not anywhere near to the obsessive extent I love my silly little mutants. But their biggest failing as a group has always been how they treat the X-Men and mutants as a whole. One last thing before I wrap this up: it’s time to talk about Empath. I have very mixed feelings about him. On the one hand, I’m very interested in the concept of how power as strong as his can corrupt an already shitty person into a true monster. But I don’t think this book is a good place to explore that. It works with monster of the week enemies, or it could work as a main focus of a book, but it doesn’t work in this case, with Empath as a recurring supporting character who’s always present but doesn’t have that much panel time to really explore the horrors of him as a person. It especially hurts the idea of what the Hellions are supposed to represent. A big theme in X-Men is evolution, and the New Mutants and Hellions are an important part of that. Unlike the X-Men and their enemy teams, who are usually pretty diametrically opposed, the New Mutants and Hellions have a much less hate-fueled dynamic. There’s even some cross-team friendships. Evolution-wise, it’s the bridge between the blood feuds of the previous generation and the hope for mutant unity in the future (which will be achieved decades after Claremont leaves). If the kids can bridge the divides between mutant factions, there’s hope for the next generation, and there’s even a chance they can bring their mentors together in the name of the children. But Empath throws a really big wrench in those themes and in the whole New Mutants/Hellions dynamic. The Hellions are friendly rivals who really aren’t that different from the New Mutants... except Empath, who’s a serial rapist who tries to assault both teams every chance he gets. There’s not room in the book to delve into all the thematic and narrative baggage that a character like Empath entails, so his being here is just harming the other themes and narratives. Overall, a solid arc some pure gold material that still suffers from an ongoing flaw in the series.

Harlow -  Harlow's first crush was a boy from her class in 3rd grade Kyle Clark.
12- What planet should we colonize, and why?
Avery - Honestly? I wouldn't pick any planet. Why? Because we have ruined the one we currently inhabit, we just fall victim to the same fate? There's no reason for us to become parasites to another planet. We don't deserve another planet to inhabit.
13- If you are granted one wish, what would that be?
Emilio - "That my dad never came back to New York or into my life."
14- If you could trade lives with any tv character who would it be?
Kennedy - mmm any tv character. I would say the Doctor from dr who. He gets to see so many places. Not to mention the Tardis is pretty awesome

Scott had a distinct feeling that his pounding headache wouldn’t cease until the world went back to their version of normal. He pinched the bridge of his nose, trying fruitlessly to combat it. Naturally, it had little effect. Sighing, he leaned back in his desk chair and blinked up at the ceiling, turning only when he heard a tap at the window.
Outside, on the concrete, there was a zombie. Not a real one, he was certain of that --- it seemed an inflatable yard ornament, arms flopping with little control. It had just enough control to throw rocks at his window, though the throws weren’t hard enough to break the glass (which he was sure was the intent behind the action).
Hearing footsteps approach, Scott glanced back to see a familiar head of blonde hair. “You’re not missing a zombie, are you? I think I may have found it.”
