feeling shitty still (woo for day 3 of bullshit), so here's some random oc writing to take my mind off things for a bit. probs not gonna finish this since it was just to get a feel for my ocs, isaac and fleur. enjoy if you check it out, tho.

Billowing clouds obscured his vision as he winced against the unnaturally blaring white. Issac rose a hand to pull the blindfold he used for sleeping over his eyes, but his fingertips brushed against the skin of his temple. He released a breath that was all imagined as he realized the breadth of his situation.

Impatient as ever, aren’t you, Anoriah?

The fog before him rippled dense and opaque. Though but a dream, Isaac swore he could feel the mist on the wind, the frigid chill of icy wastes and snow-capped mountains in the distance. He swept a hand through the air and drew it back to feel moisture slick on his palm. If he allowed Fleur’s influence any more, Isaac swore he’d awaken with frostbitten fingertips.

He couldn’t recall the last time Fleur forced them into one of their connecting “dreams” (standing before such an impudent woman in any capacity counted as a nightmare; waking or unconscious), but her control had definitely grown in that span of time. It was as if her desires had transcended the borderline, willing a reality forth high from the comforts of her Alabastrine Tower.

Undoubtedly, it was impressive, but her folly rested in the air, in the chill. Fleur was pushing herself to prove her worth, give him something to be frightened of. Behold my power you foolish, foolish man. Are you capable of this, too? Isaac couldn’t help his entertained smirk. If he wanted another forty steps toward death, he, too, could conjure something in this ridiculous paracosm, but he relented and let darling Fleur have her fun. The magerot that stained her delicate features would be a prettier shade of blue from the effort.

Fleur appeared but a moment later. Per her desire to always be unnecessarily theatrical (not that Isaac minded this; it was the only attribute of the woman he admired), Fleur receded the fog to the fringes and slowly approached as if materializing from the white. She held her chin high, the glowing patches of blue-white rot from within glowing brilliantly, as she stopped before him. Isaac’s gaze flicked to each one before landing upon eyes as chilly as the conjured iciness around them.

“You.” Fleur spat the word as if were nastiness upon her tongue. “What are you doing here?”

Isaac smiled. He spread his arms wide as if he were a man standing willing before a firing squad. “I should be asking you that question,” he said. “You’re the one that called me here.”

Fleur’s mouth hung agape before she gave a small swallow. “I did no such thing,” she said, displeasure tugging a deep frown down on her face. “Tolerating you even in dream brings me to the point of nausea.”

Isaac hummed. When Fleur frowned, her resemblance to Silas was uncanny. It’s a wonder it took him so long to notice their relation. Shame he only had the favor of one.

“I could say the same, but if you didn’t force me here, why the connection?”

Fleur shifted uncomfortably, the long sleeves of her immaculate red dress catching the winds. This piqued Isaac’s interest; it was rare for her to respond in such a manner, approaching everything she said and did with an infuriatingly feigned bravado. To see her slip was a rarity.

“It embarrasses me to admit this, but… I’m unsure. Moriya must be reaching for her sister for some unknown reason, or”—Fleur glared at him—“this must be your influence and you’re making a fool of me.”
