I don't think I ever mentioned this before,

But I was very thankful with One Day At A Time(ODAAT) for skipping a very common trope television and shows used when they starts. Or at least, used it with Schneider and not Elena.

You see, is very common for shows in american television that in their first season tend to show a lot of skin or nudity to bring viewers.

Is not really a bad thing, nudity is part of the human experience, but sometimes to pull this off showrunners tend to ignore specific aspects of the characters to show the skin that the cast is working so hard to have.

So you have things like the show mental where you have a minor(the character was a minor) in her underwear that was supposed to be an important storyline but the actress never came back neither her character was mentioned it again which makes you question why they do that.

Not to filtered or insulted it but Riverdale entire story is basically based on that premise. Good for the people that like but to show those scenes they ignore certain things they have established for their characters(like the whole Betty strip in the bar thing).

And well, If you were a fan of ODAAT and Elena's storyline, you would notice two things.

First is that Isabela Gomez is extremely hot, even more if you do a check in her instagram, so allowing this type of thing would bring a lot of viewers.

And second, for a character like Elena it would not fit at all.

And this is the moment that actually I'm thankful. Because sometimes even with this type of contradiction; the need to bring viewers is more important so they would ignore the OOC moment and include something.

Her brother opening the shower while she is taking a shower, or something like that someone opening her room's door while she is changing and she been in her underwear.

If you have watch shows for as much as I am, you know there's options to include that. But they didn't.

Even so, in season 3 when she and significant other where ready to have sex they respected that part of her character and didn't presented anything form her.

You could argue that Elena is a teen and a minor so that would not be an option but gain, that's not a problem for showrunners when they need to bring ratings(just think of the majority of One tree hill).

Is not something bad per se, is not like I'm a prude or something, but it really bug me when is so painful obvious to just catch attention to people.

Another Riverdale example(you can be a fan of this show and recognize these type of baits) was the kiss between Betty and Veronica in the first trailer of the show.

And is not like ODAAT don't go in that route. Schneider and Max has multiple scenes where they show how handsome they are.

It exhibits several important messages in all of its episodes and portrays them in a way that its not too heavy or complicated for the viewers to understand either.
