HERE'S WHY

When you reblog with the community tag or suggest a community tag you're basically reporting the post to tumblr which then locks the adult content onto the post that has 2 major consequences.

1) the post is taken off the regular tags chosen by the author and

2) every single reblog will stop being visible on the user's page. The person that rebloged will see their own reblog but a person visiting the blog won't.

So basically what is does is that it wipes the post from the site.

It means countless hours of work go unnoticed and there's nothing more creatively draining that to feel your work and efforts were worthless.

We get the point of the tags but they are just so harmful for us. Instead please carefully read the tags most (if not all) authors mark their nsfw works, mention minors to not interact and also tag their fics very precisely to ensure everyone is kept safe while browsing the site.

Please please please don't censor us.

I know this makes me sound desperate for traction on my account but PLEASE reblog artists work! Regardless of if my art gets 20 notes or 500 notes the majority of those notes are likes. Likes, unfortunately, do not help boost an artists work besides in the already small circle its trapped in. The only way art (or any post) travels in any sort of way to other peoples dashes is by reblogs. This is not like Instagram or Twitter where likes play into an algorithm - literally the only way people see my art is if you reblog it to your blog and tag so others see it.

It just frustrates me because of course I can see that people are liking and enjoying my art - which is greatly appreciated - but regularly my art never travels because those people who like don't reblog. I get you dont want every post you like on your blog and that's fine - but this is a hugely overwhelming issue I've seen with so many arts and bloggers in general wherein new users who have recently migrated don't understand that liking does essentially nothing for the artists account or interactions. Please please please reblog artists work!!!! It will never get seen otherwise! While I don't do commissions often myself, so many artists completely rely on their work for their income and its so important that their platforms are boosted through reblogs <3

Like guys - on a piece of art I recieved over 900 likes... but only 69 reblogs. Do you see the issue here.

Just had an experience and it has me wanting to say this, for whoever may need to hear it.

"Open Relationship" does not mean the burden of responsibility is entirely on the people IN that relationship.

It is up to them to communicate, clearly and correctly, what their limits are and what they are and aren't okay with.

It is up to YOU to respect those limits.

And if they don't seem to KNOW their limits yet, if they're still figuring them out or playing it by ear, it's up to you to respect that and adjust your own approach as they discover those limits.

If you involve yourself, romantically or sexually, with an open couple, YOU are just as responsible for the comfort and the respect involved it the situation as they are.

"Open relationship" does not mean you have free reign to use one partner and ignore the other, it does not mean you can treat them both like toys or tools for your amusement, it does not mean that one of them being okay with you acting one way and the other not being okay with it is the uncomfortable one being "prudish".

You are given license to enter THEIR relationship in some capacity, you are not the one in charge; they are. And if you can't respect the fact that THEY are the couple and you are the outsider being brought in, you have no business involving yourself to begin with.
