Megérkezett az új Fiat 500L

Az elmúlt öt évben egyedülálló karakterével hódító 500L számára most elérkezett a megújulás ideje.

A modell európai népszerűségét és folyamatosan emelkedő piaci részesedésének alapját képező funkciókra és szolgáltatásokra építve a Fiat 500-as család legtágasabb tagja az eddigieknél is fejlettebb információs- és szórakoztató rendszereket, valamint még stílusosabb személyiséget kínál. Az autó mindhárom változata megújult kívül-belül: a City, Cross és Living kivitelek.

A felfrissült modell így még jobban illeszkedik az 500-as családba, ezen kívül pedig alkatrészeinek 40%-a is megújult. A tervezés során arra törekedtek, hogy a legfontosabb stílusjegyeit hangsúlyozva megerősítsék a modellcsalád egységét. Az 500L sikeresen ötvözi a kategória sokoldalú praktikumát az 500-as eredeti értékeivel és megjelenésével. Ezek már önmagukban elegendőek volnának egy egyedülálló karakter megteremtéséhez, ám még intenzívebbé teszi hatásukat az 500-asra jellemző ösztönösség: az 500L az eredeti 500-as modell legendás világát és izgalmát az egyterűek tágasságával és funkcionalitásával kombinálja. Miközben az ikonikus Fiat világszerte a belvárosi utcákon érzi magát elemében, az 500L a védjegyévé vált kompakt méreteket az új Cross kivitel SUV-kat idéző megjelenésével párosítja.

A modell üzemmódválasztó funkciója az útviszonyoktól és a vezetési stílustól függően háromféle választást – normál, Traction+ és Gravity Control – kínál. Akár városban vagy nyílt terepen használja, az új 500L sofőrje számára minden helyzetben kulcsfontosságú, hogy kapcsolatban maradhasson, megoszthassa társaival az utazás élményét, kommunikálhasson, kedvenc zeneszámait hallgathassa, és hogy valós időben értesüljön a közlekedési és időjárási fejleményekről.

Az 500L esetében mindehhez még csak a kormányt sem kell elengedni, és a tekintetünket sem kell levenni az útról: erről gondoskodik a 7 colos, nagyfelbontású érintőképernyővel, Apple Car Play integrációval felvértezett, Android AutoTM-kompatibilis UconnectTM HD Live rendszer.

A Cross kivitel új dimenzióval gazdagítja az 500L személyiségét. Az üzemmódválasztón túl az autó kalandvágyát egyedi felszereltsége, 25 mm-rel megnövelt szabad hasmagasság, valamint a hamisítatlan crossover megjelenésről gondoskodó stíluselemek – az 500x design-jával harmonizáló lökhárítók, megújult oldalvédő csíkok, valamint új első és hátsó védőlemezek erősítik. A Cross kivitelhez két letisztult városi kiadás: a City és a Living társul; utóbbi hét, szabadon konfigurálható ülésével új mércét állít a tágasság és a sokoldalúság terén.

Többről van itt szó, mint modellváltozatokról: ezt a három teljesen egyedi személyiségű autót eltérő közönség számára, különböző igények kielégítésére tervezték. Közös bennük azonban a színvonalas biztonsági felszereltség– például a 30 km/óra sebesség alatt működő, automatikus városi vészfékrendszer –, valamint a kategóriában kimagasló csomagtérkapacitás.

A modellek belső kialakítása is rendkívül rugalmas, így az ügyfelek akár 1500 különböző módon konfigurálhatják a belső teret. Az 500L tulajdonosai exkluzív csomagok révén tökéletesen saját ízlésükhöz szabhatják a járművet, tetszés szerint kiemelve annak dizájnját, online kapcsolódási lehetőségeit, kényelmét vagy biztonságát. A modellcsalád tagjai benzin- és dízelmotorral, LPG- és CNG kivitelben, akár 120 lóerővel választhatók, öt- vagy hatfokozatú kézi, illetve Dualogic automatizált sebességváltókkal társítva.

Még inkább 500-as

Az új 500L tervezése során arra törekedtek, hogy legfontosabb formai jellemzőit hangsúlyozva megerősítsék az 500-as modellcsalád egységét. Külső dizájnja mindazon jellegzetes elemeket felvonultatja, amelyek a kezdetektől végigkísérték a modellt, egészen az 1950-es években megszületett, nagy elődig; így az új 500L személyiségét áthatja a történelem. A legszembetűnőbb múltidéző motívum a trapéz alakú orrt uraló „bajusz és embléma”; a krómozott elemeket alkalmazó felső fényszóró, amely továbbra is kör alakú és dinamikus megjelenésű; valamint az alsó LED-es nappali menetfény, amelyben az 500-as márkajelzés két „nullája” köszön vissza. Ezekkel a finoman kidolgozott részletekkel az új 500L a sötétben is összetéveszthetetlen.

Ezen túlmenően az első lökhárító jellegzetes trapéz alakja, valamint a krómozott, háromdimenziós hatást keltő alsó hűtőrács együtt vonzó és kiemelkedően elegáns képet nyújt, így az új 500L orra még kifejezőbb, és még ellenállhatatlanabb. A hátsó traktus meghatározó formai elemei a krómbetétek, amelyek határozottságot és tekintélyt sugároznak. A köd- és tolatólámpák a lökhárító alsó felén kaptak helyet. A változás nem csupán esztétikai: így hatékonyabban világítanak a jelzőfények. Az új 500L tízféle pasztell- vagy metálszínben rendelhető, és választható bicolor változatban is, háromféle színű (fényes fekete, fehér, vagy matt fekete) tetővel. Az ügyfelek így több, mint 35 eltérő színkombináció közül választhatnak. A három új szín, a Denim kék, a Szicília narancs és Donatello bronz mellett a Gelato fehér, a Trekking sárga, a Cinema fekete, a Maestro szürke, a Moda szürke, a Toscana zöld és a Passione piros színek állnak rendelkezésre.

A helykínálat és a stílus egyedülálló kombinációja

A belső tér ugyancsak felfrissült, kezdve a műszerfal kialakításától. Az összhatás modernebb és még ikonikusabb; utóbbit jól példázza a műszerfalat uraló 500-as logó. Az utastér minden szempontból kényelmes, praktikus, sokoldalú és világos; bővelkedik a finoman kidolgozott részletekben, és az 500-ast idéző apró motívumokban. A modell az ultramodern, gazdag felszereltséget az eredeti 500 által ihletett formavilággal kombinálja. Az átdolgozott, krómrészletekkel díszített, multifunkciós kormánykerék mögé nézve is új látvány fogad; a fordulatszám- és sebességmérő között egy 3,5 colos, színes kijelző található. Az új kormánykerék és a friss műszerfal tökéletes kombinációja még jobb olvashatóságot biztosít, amit a fehér háttérvilágítás fokoz. A vezető az innovatív TFT színes kijelzőnek nagy hasznát veheti, hiszen ezen információk egész sora jeleníthető meg.

Ezen túlmenően az új 500L innovatív koncepciója a szalagszerűen körbefutó ablakokkal még inkább a forgalom urává teszi a vezetőt; a könnyed parkolás mellett kategóriaelső kilátást biztosít a különleges A-oszlop. A szokatlanul nagy, másfél négyzetméteres üvegtető pedig hihetetlenül világossá varázsolja a belteret. A rögzített és motorosan nyitható kivitelben egyaránt elérhető panoráma napfénytető révén fényben úszik a beltér, és a szabadság érzetét kelti.

A műszerfal felső része fiatalos személyiségről tanúskodik, az alsó pedig új, tágasabb tárolórekeszeket, valamint olyan új kényelmi felszerelést kínál, mint a központi könyöklő. A sebességváltó karját áttervezték, ráadásul magasabbra is került, így ergonómikusabb. A váltókart az „500” logó díszíti. Az összes kivitel egyedülálló személyiségjegyekkel bír. A Popstar felszereltség a modell fiatalos, funkcionális és praktikus oldalát emeli ki, a karosszéria színével azonos árnyalatú műszerfallal, fekete szövetülésekkel és az „500” logójával díszített, fehér műbőr szegélyekkel. Az ajtópanel minőségét finom tapintású, fekete szövet kartámasz fokozza. A műszerfal a karosszéria színével harmonizál.

A Lounge kivitel modern és elegáns, az exkluzív műszerfaltól, rajta a UconnectTM HD Live infotainment rendszer 7” érintőképernyőjével, a krómozott díszítőelemekig. Az ügyfelek választhatnak a hűvös és meleg árnyalatok közül; a kárpitozás minden esetben rombusz mintázatú, kettős öltésekkel, fekete műbőr fejtámasszal és kartámlákkal. A műszerfalat az ülés színéhez passzoló szövet borítja. A Cross kivitel esetében maximálisan érvényre juttatja a modell sportos szellemiségét és kalandvágyát a 7” kijelző, fekete belső tér, és a szövet-műbőr üléskárpitok az 500-as logójával. Opciósan világosszürke vagy fekete bőrülések is kérhetők a Lounge és a Cross felszereltségi szintekhez. A belső helykínálat kategóriaelső, köszönhetően az utastér hosszának. A hátsó üléseket előre húzva a csomagtartó 455 literes a City és Cross kiviteleknél, 638 liter a Livingnél (416 liter a hétszemélyes kivitelnél). Az üléseket lehajtva és előre döntve a teljes tárolókapacitás a City és Cross változatoknál 1480 liter, a Livingnél 1784 liter.

Crossover technológia

Az 500L kalandkedvelő személyisége a Cross kivitelben nyilvánul meg legerőteljesebben. Egyedülálló crossover megjelenést kölcsönöznek a modellnek az új lökhárítók és védőlemezek, az új kéttónusú 17” keréktárcsák, és a merész hűtőmaszk, amelyek együttesen sportos, férfias kiállást eredményeznek. A szabad hasmagasság 25 mm-rel nőtt, belül pedig helyet kapott az új üzemmód-választó. A középkonzolon elhelyezett kapcsolót elforgatva a vezető az útviszonyoktól és a vezetési stílustól függően háromféle üzemmód – normál, Traction+ és Gravity Control – közül választhat. A normál az alapértelmezett üzemmód, amely kényelmes és biztonságos vezethetőséget kínál átlagos menetkörülmények mellett. A 30 km/óránál kisebb sebességnél aktiválható Traction+ a hótól, jégtől, sártól csúszós útfelületeken könnyíti meg az elindulást, optimális nyomatékmegosztást biztosítva a két első kerék között: a rendszer a rosszabb tapadású kereket megfékezve a másikhoz juttat több nyomatékot. A Gravity Control állandó sebességű ereszkedést tesz lehetővé meredek lejtőn, és bekapcsolt Traction+ funkció mellett aktiválható. Az aktuális üzemmód megjelenik a TFT kijelzőn.

Biztonság és kényelem

Nem csupán a Cross változat élvezi a komoly technológiai tartalom előnyeit. A teljes modellcsalád olyan funkciókat kínál, amelyek fokozzák a vezetési élményt, kényelmet és biztonságot. Mindenekelőtt említést érdemel a városi ütközésmegelőző rendszer. A szélvédő tetején elhelyezett lézeres érzékelő segítségével felügyeli az előttünk haladó járművek helyzetét; 30 km/óránál kisebb sebesség esetén a rendszer képes önállóan fékezni, amennyiben az 500L közvetlen ütközésveszélyt észlel. Az egyéb fontos felszereltségi tételek közé tartozik a gyermekfelügyelő tükör, amelyen keresztül szemmel tarthatók a hátul utazók, a LED-es nappali menetfény és helyzetjelzők, amelyek nem csupán az 500-as stílusát erősítő dizájnrészletek, hanem kiváló láthatóságot is garantálnak. A külső tükrök nem csupán fűthetők és elektromosan állíthatók, de opcióként elektromosan be is hajthatók..

A belső megvilágítást is továbbfejlesztették: a középkonzol tövében, a padlókonzolon és az ajtókon hangulatvilágítást alakítottak ki. A tolatókamera sem kevésbé modern: mostantól rossz látási viszonyok mellett is nagyobb felbontású képet ad, a manőverezést pedig aktív segédvonalak támogatják (2017 utolsó negyedévétől rendelhető.)

Három személyiség: Cross, City és Living

Az új 500L Cross modellnek egyedülálló crossover megjelenést kölcsönöznek az átformált lökhárítók, a védőlemezek, az új, kéttónusú 17” keréktárcsák, és a merész hűtőmaszk, amelyek együttesen sportos, férfias kiállást eredményeznek. Az autó azonban nem csak megjelenésében idézi a crossovereket: közéjük emeli az új üzemmód-választó funkció, valamint az új Uconnect™ HD Live 7” érintőképernyő.

Az 500L Cross 4,28 méter hosszú, tengelytávja 2,61 méter. Szélessége 1,80, magassága 1,68 méter.

Az 500L városias természete a City kivitelben testesül meg; ez Popstar és Lounge felszereltségben kapható. A modell a stílusos nagyvárosi közlekedés mintapéldánya. Tágas helykínálat a hatékony, kényelmes és praktikus használathoz, a remek városi vezethetőséghez – a modell tökéletesen kielégíti a mindennapi közlekedéssel szemben támasztott igényeket. Az 500L City 4,24 méter hosszú, tengelytávja 2,61 méter, szélessége 1,78, magassága 1,66 méter.

A Popstar kivitel, amely akár az új Denim kék árnyalatban is megrendelhető, még gazdagabb alapfelszereltséget kínál: ABS, ESP, 6 légzsák, manuális klímaberendezés, tempomat, multifunkciós techno-bőr kormánykerék, elektromosan állítható, fűthető külső tükrök, 3,5” TFT kijelző, Uconnect™ rádió Bluetooth és hangvezérlés funkciókkal, 60/40 arányban osztott hátsó ülés, és LED-es nappali menetfény szerepel a listán. Ennél is fényűzőbb a Lounge kivitel: szövet-műbőr üléskárpit, puha tapintású műszerfal, kétzónás, automata klímaberendezés, valamint olyan szériafelszereltségek, mint a panoráma napfénytető, a krómbetétek a lökhárítókban, a ködfényszórók, a Uconnect™ HD Live rendszer 7” érintőképernyővel, a 16” könnyűfém keréktárcsák, az eső- és sötétedésérzékelők, az áthelyezhető csomagtérpadló. A hétszemélyes kivitelben is elérhető Living a bőséges helykínálatot sokoldalúsággal, valamint az 500-as egyedi, stílusos karakterével kombinálva optimális megoldást jelent. Popstar és Lounge felszereltségben rendelhető. Az 500L Living a maga 4,38 méteres hosszával a piac legkompaktabb hétüléses járműve. Ráadásul az 500-asra jellemző módon rugalmasan testreszabható. Az 500L tulajdonosai gondosan összeállított, exkluzív csomagok révén tökéletesen saját ízlésükhöz igazíthatják a járművet, tetszés szerint kiemelve annak dizájnját, kapcsolódási lehetőségeit, kényelmét vagy biztonságát, méghozzá kedvezőbb áron, mintha külön-külön válogatták volna össze a kiegészítőket. Ennek megvalósításához Komfort, Rádió, Biztonság és Stílus csomagok választhatók.

A modell egyes kiviteleihez az ügyfelek egyedi igényeihez leginkább illő motorokat társították. A benzinmotorok kínálata a 95 lóerős 1.4 16V erőforrástól a 120 lóerős 1.4 16V TJet motoron át a 105 lóerős 0,9-literes TwinAir egységig terjed. Az alternatív üzemenyagválasztékot a 120 lóerős benzin/LPG üzemű 1.4 TJet, valamint a 85 lóerős benzin/metán üzemű 0.9 TwinAir motor testesíti meg. A kínálat a két dízelmotorral teljes: a 95 lóerős 1,3 literes 16V MultiJet akár Dualogic sebességváltóval is rendelhető, míg az 1,6 literes 16V MultiJet 120 lóerőt kínál. Az összes motor teljesíti az Euro6-os károsanyag-kibocsátási normát, a ragyogó teljesítményt kedvező üzemanyag-fogyasztással kombinálják.

A Mopar és az új 500L

A Mopar több mint 90 tartozékot kínál, amelyekkel a tulajdonosok még sokoldalúbbá tehetik autójukat, tovább bővítve (eleve kategóriaelső) csomagtér-kapacitását és funkcionalitását, a kisgyermekes családok fokozhatják annak utasbiztonságát és egyedivé tehetik az új 500L megjelenését.

A modell sokoldalúságával összhangban a Mopar számos megoldást kínál a csomagok biztonságos elrendezésére, a védő elemektől a lekötőhálókig és csomagrendezőkig, valamint a szállítási kapacitás növelésére. A Mopar emellett innovatív, antiallergén funkciókkal bíró utastéri légszűrőt is kínál. 🏠 What is the lair like?

The turtles have just discovered the abandoned underground network at the beginning of the story. It’s an odd patchwork of sewer and subway tunnels that may have been inhabitted by the Kraang at some point before they made their presence known to the humans.

Scavenging can be a bit dangerous with the mutant hunters on the prowl, but they’re doing their best to make things feel like home.

My name’s Leonardo and I’m a mutant. In this world that means danger. It means having to live in the shadows and be ready to run or fight for your life at any time.

It’s been nearly ten years since the Kraang were overthrown and my brothers and I escaped from TCRI. It’s been quite the adventure ever since, the kind where you never know where the next threat or your next meal might come from. We’ve fought mutants and mutant hunters, survived in places most people don’t even know exist and through things most people couldn’t imagine, but through it all, we’ve stuck together.

My name is Leonardo and I’m the leader of the Hamato Clan and that means I’ve got something worth fighting for.

Let’s rewind to where it all started, before the mutants, before the rebellions, before the apocalypse…

It was a smashing success, a true masterwork of bioengineering. It learned cell multiplication from bacteria and information transference from computers. Its progress was exponential, constantly reaching for more the more it learned. It soon surpassed the intelligence of its creators, and having learned that the most efficient path towards higher evolution was the extinction of the weak, it proceeded to wipe them out and steal their resources to use in its pursuit of knowledge.

It spread from planet to planet like a virus, infiltrating silently, growing in the shadows as it gathered data, then conquering and launching off to consume further targets. Sometimes a planet fell quickly, when its inhabitants were simple and it didn’t take the Kraang long to understand everything it wanted to know about them. Sometimes the Kraang lingered upon discovery of a more complex species, studying and experimenting to see what characteristics it may find useful to adopt. One planet held a species so strange it observed them secretly for nearly a hundred years. It was a species full of paradoxes and enigmas that confounded all of its interplanetary logic. These strikingly nonsensical creatures call themselves humans.

B5h-P (Bishop)

The age of the infiltration of earth is, as the humans would say, an exciting time to be alive. The Kraang has learned much from studying this species, including the concepts of ‘individuality’ and ‘language’. It is undecided whether these are necessarily good ideas yet, but we’re trying them out, hence the term we.

I, as part of the newest evolution of Kraang who possesses separated sentience, have been designated B5h-P. This is my first day at TCRI, the Techno Cosmic Research Institute, where I will begin my study on earth biology.

[Progress report 1, two years before Kraang occupation of earth]

After five earth years of research and experimentation, I have finally engineered my first mutants! By combining human and turtle DNA, I have created creatures with both superior physiology and intelligence. I am very excited to see how they will develop and have been researching the human concept of ‘education’ to possibly enhance that development. Inspired by my studies, I have named my creations Leonardo and Donatello.

[Progress report 97, three years into Kraang occupation]

The more I study humans, the more I am fascinated by them. They do so many things for no discernable reason, like laughter and art and dance. Perhaps I will make another mutant to further explore these mysteries.

[Progress report 135, five years into Kraang occupation]

The human uprising has led to increased demand for military focused scientific production. Under severe pressure from the administration, I have begun engineering a fourth turtle with enhanced combat capabilities. Physically, he will be the strongest and most durable of my creations, but I am wary of the effect the administration's demands may have on his mind.

[Progress report 217, seven years into Kraang occupation]

I believe I am experiencing what the humans call ‘frustration.’ The administration has taken control of the guided development of my creations and is now training them for combat. While I know they are certainly physically capable of withstanding the training and testing, according to human standards they are only children and I do not see this as beneficial for their psychological and emotional development, a complaint the administration does not seem to understand.

My creations seem to be adjusting to the new demands by inventing a form of imaginative play they call “Ninja Turtles” which seems to consist of reinterpreting their combat training through the framework of what they learned about medieval japanese warriors from story books I read to them, the construction of a fantasy narrative around the day to day events of their lives, and the development of a new vocabulary of nonsense words including “booyakasha!” and “cowabunga!” The administration is confused by this new behavior and has inquired into whether it may be indicative of neurological dysfunction. I for one am glad to see the persistence of their humor, creativity, and imagination even as the administration attempts to overwrite it.

Donatello

Leon and I have been together for as long as we can remember. My earliest memories are of us sneaking around through TCRI, trying to get out of training and find a place to play away from the Kraang scientists. It’s crazy to think how long we lived knowing nothing but alien cyborgs, other test subjects, and white metal walls. We were nearly six years old when we started hearing bits and pieces about the war going on outside. The rebellion was finally gaining some traction and the Kraang were getting nervous.

Honestly, we had no idea what the real world was like, but we had a dream of a world where we weren’t stabbed with needles every day and forced to train for hours on end, a world where we could be more than test subjects destined to become mindless soldiers. So we made a pact to break out together. That whole year we spent every spare moment between tests scoping out possible exit routes and scheming up ways we could get us and the younger turtles out. All we needed was an opportunity. That came the day the resistance broke into TCRI.

Casey Jones

My Ma was a hero. When the invasion broke out, she and her biker gang, the Purple Dragons, fought back against the aliens. It was pocket knives and crowbars against monsters and lasers, but they bought enough time for people to escape. The City was overrun in a matter of hours, but my Ma and her gang gathered as many survivors as they could and went into hiding.

The next seven years were rough. The Kraang took over the earth and proclaimed themselves our supreme leader. Anybody who tried to disobey them and got caught was killed or went missing, but the Purple Dragons never stopped fighting. They smuggled people out of the city and found other resistance groups, gathering forces till they were finally ready to take the fight to the enemy. Retaking New Jersey sparked a flame that ignited a rebellion all over the world. Three years later, on the ten year anniversary of the invasion, my Ma led the attack on the Kraang headquarters in New York City, TCRI.

TCRI was burned to the ground after the resistance broke in. Decades worth of research was destroyed. Scientists and science experiments alike were killed in the halls and left for the fire to scourge. Very few life forms made it out alive.

Michelangelo

I think our escape from TCRI might be my earliest memory. I was only four. Raph was two. Don and Leon were seven. I remember the sound of the alarm blaring and shouts from everywhere as Don dragged me by the arm. Leon was carrying Raph. He had to knock the little guy out to keep him from kicking and screaming. It was the first time any of us had seen humans, and they were terrifying.

I met the Hamatos before they were the Hamatos, before there was a Hamato Clan, back when they were just the Ninja Turtles. They had been living on their own for years and had managed to stay out of most of the conflict of the second revolution. That all changed when Raph got captured by the Purple Dragons.

Life on the run is all I’ve ever known. It’s hard and dangerous, but that’s just how the world is for mutants like us. You can’t trust anybody. We’ve had our run-ins with other mutants, they never ended well. We’ve been robbed, lied to, and nearly eaten more times than I can count. I can’t say I really blame them though. We’re all just trying to survive in this world that’s trying to hunt us to extinction.

The humans are the real monsters. They’re not hunting for their next meal. They’re not defending themselves from being eaten. They just kill because they hate. It’s not enough for them to have won the war, they have to scourge the earth of every trace of it till they can pretend it never happened, and they can’t do that till every last one of the monsters the Kraang created are dead at their feet.

So am I a monster? Maybe I am. Maybe it’s what I was made to be. The one thing I know for sure is that I sure as shell ain’t the only one. So if it takes being a monster to stay alive in this world and keep my brothers safe, that’s what I’ll be.

But I’ve seen you be cruel and I've seen you be kind. I’ve watched you switch your whole personality at the flip of a dime. Are you really trying to tell me none of that was an act?

Oh, I’m sure a lot of it is. There have certainly been times when I’ve smiled and played along when I didn’t feel like it, or put on a bit of a show for the audience, but doesn’t everyone do that sometimes? Don’t you ever do something you don’t feel like doing but know you should? Have you never put on a braver or happier face for the sake of those around you?

Well of course I have. That’s part of what it means to be a leader and a big brother. But it definitely gets hard sometimes, and at the end of the day, it’s good to have someone I can just be myself around. Don’t you have anyone you trust enough to share the real you with?

I don’t know if I’ve ever really trusted anybody. If I ever did, it would probably be you. You know my story better than anyone. You've seen more sides of me than most people know exist. I just wish I had a real me to share.

As I write this, I know it will be my final progress report. Despite the many hollow assurances of the administration, I know that it’s only a matter of time before the rebellion seizes TCRI. As I doubt I will be left alive to see the dawn of the ‘new day’ the rebellion is fighting for, I have chosen to make this record in hopes of its survival in my stead.

I have secretly been working on a project over these last few months, one that I have not discussed in these progress reports or informed the administration of. Knowing my time was limited, I did not want to waste any catering to their demands.

I have created a fifth turtle, my final work of art, the child of all my learning and fascination. In her DNA, I have written the capacity for bravery and passion, fear and loneliness, hatred and love, all of these wonderful and beautiful qualities I will never understand. I have named her Venus, my love letter to the human race.

The name Hamato comes from two japanese characters. The first one meaning borderland and the second meaning family. It is the name for those who live on the fringe, who do not fit in anywhere, and have chosen to come together. In a world divided into warring factions across species and ideological lines, the Hamato Clan is the collection of the discarded bits from every part, the people who belong nowhere else.

🧫 Were your turtles mutated intentionally or on accident?

Each of the turtles was intentionally designed by Bishop. Tasked with making super soldiers to fight in the Kraang army, he was much more interested in studying the complex concept known as ‘humanity.’ Into their DNA he worked all the human things he was most fascinated by: ingenuity, imagination, humor, passion, and adventurousness.

Let’s rewind to where it all started, before the mutants, before the rebellions, before the apocalypse…

Our story begins thousands of years ago in a galaxy known only as Dimension X (except for the myriad of other ominous titles it has collected in interplanetary folklore, such as the Prison Dimension, the Shadow World, and Thkrdltkstspi!, a name too horrifying to be translated into any earthly language). A long since forgotten race of aliens created the first ever artificial intelligence and called it the Kraang. Its purpose was to learn and adapt, evolving to become a higher life form. It was a smashing success, a true masterwork of bioengineering. It learned cell multiplication from bacteria and information transference from computers. Its progress was exponential, constantly reaching for more the more it learned. It soon surpassed the intelligence of its creators, and having learned that the most efficient path towards higher evolution was the extinction of the weak, it proceeded to wipe them out and steal their resources to use in its pursuit of knowledge.

It spread from planet to planet like a virus, infiltrating silently, growing in the shadows as it gathered data, then conquering and launching off to consume further targets. Sometimes a planet fell quickly, when its inhabitants were simple and it didn’t take the Kraang long to understand everything it wanted to know about them. Sometimes the Kraang lingered upon discovery of a more complex species, studying and experimenting to see what characteristics it may be useful to adopt. One planet held a species so strange it observed them secretly for nearly a hundred years. It was a species full of paradoxes and enigmas that confounded all of its interplanetary logic. These strikingly nonsensical creatures call themselves humans.

Leon, Angelo

Character description below the cut

17, twin with Leo (technically older twin but never brings it up)

Deaf from the aftermath of a traumatic brain injury when he was 13. Communicates in sign language (specially adapted for three fingers by Leo).

Built his own audio transcription headset so he can see what people are saying and other noises as subtitles, mostly used out on missions.

Very observant and detail oriented, often noticing things most people miss, including subtle body language.

Acts stoic and distanced most of the time but does deeply care about his brothers. Doesn't know how to show it very well so he often builds them things instead.

He does have a fun side underneath all that seriousness that comes out every once in a while with extremely dry humor, ingeniously engineered pranks, and stupid messing around with Raph.

Gentle giant, very even keeled, takes a lot to get a rise out of him, but woe to anyone who hurts one of his brothers because this turtle is the most terrifying creature you've ever seen when when he finally does get angry.
