i just can't get over how s6 made no sense like im so mad

starting w/ nyxly bc wth??? kara is such an empathic person, she has a huge heart but in the end they just sent her back to the phantom zone w/ lex???? i mean,, nyxly definitely was a good person, she was just so hurt and she deserved a second chance,,, kara and nyxly feeling the other emotions definitely hinted that yeah redemption arc but no they just threw it all away

and don't even get me started on lena. yk i started watching this show bc i love Katie Mcgrath, and one thing about her is that she really understand her characters and in an interview she said smth like: not everyone is a superhero and that's where lena stands, doing what she thinks is right being surrounded by superheros,,, w/ wtv knowledge she has she's just doing the best she can. and w/ s6 being about ppl empowering themselves bc they don't need superheros to protect them,, the character that illustrated this the best was just given powers (⁠눈⁠‸⁠눈⁠) like be so fr pls she didn't need that,, and ik someone said that its to give lena a queer narrative and give supercorp queer subtext but it still doesn't make any sense for her character????

yk what let's talk about supercorp while we're at it. kara and lena did not spend 3 seasons devouring each other w/ their eyes and then break up arc (s5) for wtv is happening on s6. i am genuinely mad over this bc s5 gave us perfect context for a romance,, like kara spent 3y lying to her best friend and then they have this huge fight abt it and right when they make up kara ends up alone in a terrifying place. it's so freaking easy for romance to bloom here ????? like i honestly think that supercorp should've been the core of s6 bc even as friends kara and lena are each other's most important person and they both went through pretty traumatic events and i think they should've been supporting each other on a much deeper level idk im just so mad

there's something very juvenile and shallow about klaroline, in my opinion. part of it is because the narrative has never really focused on them unless its for fanservice. klayley, for example, have had ups and downs. they have worked together and worked against each other. they have made concessions for each other, they have killed for each other, and they have made choices for each other. their dynamic feels a bit more adult despite their immaturity at times, and of course part of that comes from their shared responsibility and their shared desire to put hope above themselves. it is through their circumstances that they regard each other differently and begin to treat each other like equals, which i find interesting. personally, klaroline just feels a bit stuck in the teen drama pit, which is why i do not find it nearly as compelling.

I also think it's because Caroline herself is a teenager. Yes, a vampire, but also a girl who's frozen at seventeen and will never grow up out of it, similar to Rebekah.

I'm not sure if it's been said in canon, but in tvd it's pretty clear that vampires are more or less mentally frozen with their physical age when they die. I don't know if that made sense, so: you die being twenty-two = you'll always be twenty-two mentally and emotionally, no matter how much you live as a vampire.

A clear example of that is Klaus, who died when he was twenty-one/twenty-two and despite having a thousand years, he clearly doesn't act like it. Or Rebekah, who in canon died being seventeen: she was clearly an insecure and neurotic teenager in tvd, until they made her act mature and feminist in The Originals (don't come at me for the last part, trying to steal a girl's boyfriend wasn't very feminist of her).

But back to the point, definitely. There was a lack of power between their relationship which Klaus always took advantage of, and Caroline did act like she couldn't stand his sight yet she didn't hesitate before accepting his attention or his gifts imo. I believe is because they weren't supposed to be romantically interwined at first, so the writers clearly didn't know how to handle them and they tried to make look romantic every time Klaus threatened her and snapped whenever she said something he didn't like.

Which failed, and yet fans bought it with their whole "Klaus is the only one who always put Caroline first." He didn't imo and that's final.

And Joseph and Kat, the actress of Bonnie, wanted their characters to have a romantic relationship yet Pl*c said a big no because she's a racist piece of shit. So with the way the writers jumped at the opportunity to not give us the romance between the black witch and the hybrid and instead had him "fall" for the baby vampire is disgusting. Klaus x Bonnie would have been a thousand of times better than any of his other relationships.

And now, going to klayley, I personally don't ship them anymore even though I did once. I agree about how they were more mature than klaroline, but the whole point of their dynamic is that they wouldn't have spared the other a glance if not for Hope. Hayley hated sleeping with him, as pointed out for their daughter in s5, but didn't regret it considering it brought her her hope (no pun intended lmao, or perhaps yes). Still, seeing the development in their relationship was quite beautiful despite everything: they loved each other as family, and one of the few things they agreed on was that Hope was their number one priority.

The whole conception about how Hope was made is strange though, hybrid and female werewolf = magic and most powerful baby as cliché as Renaissance from Twilight, that is three species without any logical explanation other than "we don't want any black witch (especially Bonnie Bennett) to be the most powerful" and "Klaus is a hybrid so he can procreate, despite the fact that he had been killed before having his werewolf side locked, therefore he couldn't get any woman pregnant".

I honestly love Hope, but her whole character revolves around being the most powerful and being the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson who is traumatized after her daddy and mommy died.

But going back to the point, definitely. Personally, I don't ship anyone with Klaus because I believe that to be seriously in a relationship with him, you must be as screwed up as him. It's the reason I don't believe Camille or Caroline could have been with him for a long time, and honestly he doesn't deserve either of those girls (I do though, give him to me.)

Either way, klamille and klaroline have problems of their own, but the fact that they resemble so much the sister he's always been obssesed with??? And the way Rebekah went for Marcel, the person that the show always said was the most like Klaus???

S5 montage to I Think We're Alone Now after Mike and Will get together:

Mike and Will try sneaking into an empty classroom, the AV room, and a spacious supply closer to sneak in a kiss at school. They are thwarted by a teacher, Dustin, and a janitor.

Mike and Will are on the couch in Mike's basement and are leaning in... when Mrs. Wheeler opens the door and starts walking down the stairs loudly. Mike and Will jump apart, cheeks red.

Robin tells Will about the makeout spot at Skull Roc, and Will sneaks Mike out there. They're just getting comfortable when Steve fucking Harrington's voice echoes out from the woods, heading in their direction and talking to his date loudly. Mike and Will get the hell out of there.

They sneak off to the rebuilt Castle Byers, and are trying to figure out if they can even comfortably make out in there, if there's enough space, when Jonathan pops out of nowhere, announcing that dinner is ready.

Mike consults Lucas, and with his advice, he tries to bribe the new arcade assistant manager to let them hang out in the back office for just like 10 minutes, that's it. It worked for Lucas, right? The new assistant manager is not a sleezeball like Ken was though, and he just gives Mike a weird look before telling him no.

Lucas also suggests sneaking into Benny's, which Mike declares he wouldn't even stoop to, no way is he taking Will to the spot where all the jocks drink and throw up after every game.

Eventually, Mike and Will sit, very innocently and dejectedly on Will's bed, door wide open to the occupied house. They hold hands and sneak a quick kiss here and there and read comics together. It is nice, it is. They both keep sneaking peeks at each other's lips though.

Until Hopper approaches, rapping on the doorframe, and says very pointedly that he's going to pick up dinner with Joyce and El, and Jonathan's at work, but should be done with his shift in about an hour, right? Hopper says they'll be back with some food in about 20 minutes. And off they go.

Will turns to Mike and says, grin plastered on his face, "I think we're alone now." And then Mike lunges for him.

Buck waits until Josh has his seat belt on before taking off into LA’s night traffic. “Seriously, Buck. I really appreciate you taking me home.” “No problem.” Buck shrugs his shoulders. “Besides, it saves me from Maddie asking more questions about the Taylor thing.” “I swear, dating gets harder and harder to do these days.” Buck can tell, just from his tone of voice, that Josh rolled his eyes with that last comment. “Tell me about it. So far, all my Tinder matches have been interested in having one night stands and nothing more. I just gave up on dating apps.” Buck shakes his head. “Urgh, don’t even mention dating apps to me please. I swore off them after that last time with the asshole that took us hostage.” “Oh, god. Shit, I’m so sorry for bringing that up, Josh.” “It’s okay. He’s in jail and I’m free.” Josh sighs. “I’m grateful that we have such a great therapist. But tell me, How bold have you Tinder dates been?” “Where to start. There was this one girl that the first thing she asked when she got to the restaurant was if it was going to be at my place or hers, not even a ‘Hi, nice to meet you in person’.” “Gotta admire that she went straight to the point.” “No kidding. Oh, there was this one guy that as soon as he got to the meeting place he wanted to get down to business in an alley.” Buck grimaces, he still remembers how upset the guy got when Buck refused to just drop on his knees and suck him off. “I think that was the worst of them all.” “I’m sorry. Hold on… a guy?” “Yeah, the dude just grabbed my hand and tried to pull me into this disgusting alley.” “Hold on. I don’t want to mislabel or anything, Buck are you… queer?” “Oh, yeah, I’m bisexual. I thought you knew, Maddie never mentioned it?” “How would I know? And no, she never mentioned it.” “But, back when she first invited you for poker night, you said something about her setting us up, I thought you knew.” “I didn’t!” They stay silent for a bit, Buck letting Josh process the news. “Well, let me just say, thank you for telling me.” “It’s not a big deal for me. I don’t really hide it, but I also don’t go around telling people. It’s just part of who I am." “No, yeah, of course I get it.” He can see Josh smiling at him when he takes a quick glance at him. “I’m so dragging you to Pride next year.” Buck laughs at that. “You know what? I’m in, in all my years living here, I’ve never been to the parade.” “Yes! That’s the spirit.” They spent the rest of the drive talking about  Pride and other nonsensical topics. Buck really likes talking with Josh, he’s a bit older than him, but almost everyone else in his life is. He would really like to get to know Josh more outside of the times Maddie invites him to hang out. “Well, this is me. Again, thank you so much for the ride.” Josh says, taking his seat belt off. “Josh, wait a minute.” Buck stops him just as he was opening the door. “What’s the matter?” “So, umm, now I know that you were kind of joking back then on poker night, but uh, what do you say we give it a go?”

collecting little snippets from the project nina pages of the script and i have some thoughts :

pic 1 - the italicized and underlined traveled back in time means something here, perhaps showing that el is going back to her mindset like it was in the lab in some way or it could be a nod to the time travel happening in s5.

pic 2 - can someone remind me whether el was referred to as eleven in all of the scripts (from other seasons as well) or if this is only a recent thing pls? also she is very non verbal here, perhaps another nod to her regression and she also holds hands with brenner (repeating patterns of abuse) although she also does grow more and more tense, which could just be because of the confrontation due to happen, but maybe theres something else to it?

pic 3 - she notices something off about the friendly orderly which could give us some clues about vecna's character before he became a part of the upside down? el is also very nervous and thinks 'uh oh' which shows that she is entirely uncomfortable with this and re-experiencing traumatic events did help her get over them, but maybe she stayed in the mindset during them as well?

pic 4 - the children are being called The Numbers, another mention of how their self worth and perception was drastically altered and how eleven is such a horrible name to call el. four also calls her stupid, which could possibly tie into her catchphrase in s2 (we're/im not stupid). we also see the extent to which the kids are terrified of brenner.

Conversations With Your Drug Dealer [Part 1]

Characters: Vicky Lopez, Julian Ramis, Pippa Goldfinch, Dana Lopez, Chelsea Bloom, Edward Ramis (mentioned), Freddy Stewart (mentioned) Warnings: Teen angst, emotional abuse from parent to child, early spoilers for S5, underage drug use, canon divergence Relationship(s): Vicky Lopez & Julian Ramis, Chelsea Bloom/Vicky Lopez, Julian Ramis/Freddy Stewart (mentioned former one-sided crush on Julian’s side) (pls don’t hate me) Synopsis: Vicky, stressed out over recent issues, decides to buy drugs to relax. There is only one person she knows who has them. (Please note: I am aware the characters’ interactions in this fic are not canon. I just merely did some…divergence, if you will.) Feb. 13, 2018 10 more minutes until lunch. Vicky raps her pinky against the desk repeatedly in anticipation. Come on, damn clock, go faster! She grabs her paper and scribbles some more answers onto her worksheet. It’s science, a subject she gave zero shits about, so she doesn’t care whether her answers are correct. Once she finishes, she scratches her left cheek as she glares up at the clock, now continuously tapping her foot against the floor like it’s some belated kind of morse code. 8 more minutes. She lets out a loud exhale through her nostrils as she puts her head down on her desk, her hands running through her wavy black locks. Out of the corner of her eye, she spots Chelsea, her best friend, giving her a small look of concern from the other side of the classroom. Are you alright? Chelsea mouths. Vicky nods quickly. I’m fine, she bullshits silently. Chelsea looks back at her worksheet, and Vicky looks back up at the clock. 5 more minutes. Fuck this. If she had to last another unbearable 5 minutes in Miss Goldfinch’s class, she was going to lose her fucking mind. Also, it was 5 mere minutes, so why not just ditch? She thinks as her hand shoots up. “Yes, Vicky?” Miss Goldfinch asks. “CAN I USE THE BATHROOM?” Vicky exclaims in her best I-am-in-pain-and-I-must-piss voice. Miss Goldfinch glances at the clock. “Vicky, dear, it’s 4 and a half more minutes until the end of lunch, can’t you just hold it in?” Welp, that didn’t work. Time for the Trump card. “I DON’T THINK I CAN, MISS GOLDFINCH.” Vicky says through clenched teeth. Miss Goldfinch looks back at her and frowns. “What do you mean by that?” Vicky walks up to Miss Goldfinch and whispers some words into her ear. “Oh…OH…okay, then. Do you need anything?” Vicky shakes her head rapidly. “...Well, alright, then, go right ahead to the bathroom, and take your backpack with you if you must.” “Thank you, ma’am!” Vicky shouts as she grabs her bag and power walks out of the classroom. Great. Now that period 4 torture time’s basically over, now all I need to do is wait for…wait, what’s his name? She pulls out her phone and checks her notes. Julian Ramis “The Murderer Kid” …Ah, yeah, him. According to reports, the kid was arrested for murder around five years ago, which is why people tend to avoid him. However, she did not know everything that happened, and even information about the crime wasn't exactly what she wanted. What she wanted was cannabis. “Who’s that?” Vicky asks, pointing to the boy sitting alone at the less crowded side of the bleachers, typing on his laptop. “Oh, him?” Chelsea asks. “Yeah, beanie boy.” Vicky replies. “Is he a transfer or something? I haven’t really noticed him before until now.” “Oh, no, he ain’t a transfer.” Chelsea responds, shaking her head. “That’s Julian Ramis. Apparently, dude, uh-” Chelsea’s hesitating now. “He what?” “He, uh, ‘game over’-ed someone, like 5 years ago.” Vicky could feel her eyes widen and her jaw drop. “Are you, like, serious about this?!” “Yeah, like totes serious!” Chelsea exclaims as the two girls walk down the bleacher stairs. “Why else would he be so emo-looking?! Constantly smells of weed, too. I feel kinda bad for him, but at the same time, he’s like, really scary. Last time I tried talking to him, he immediately started getting high and mighty, calling me a ‘ginger, rat-faced bimbo!’” She shudders. “Jeez, he seems pretty bad.” Vicky replies. Of course, a guy who constantly smells of weed would have weed in his general vicinity, right? Vicky rehearses her plan in her hand once again. Alright, once the bell rings, find Julian, drag him over to the gender-neutral bathroom, and force him to fork over the drugs. And if all else goes to absolute shit, then remember that one self-defense acronym!...What was that one acronym again-? BBBBBRRRRRIIIIINNNNNG!!!!! Oh yeah, ‘solar plexus’, ‘instep’, ‘nose’, and ‘groin’. Alright, I’m ready. When lunch comes around, the whole school grounds are open, so Vicky knew she had a lot of searching to do. However, considering where she had seen him the first time, she had a good idea on where he was going to be. Sure enough, as Vicky clambers onto the bleachers, she spots Julian in the relatively uncrowded corner, eating what seems to be a meatloaf sandwich with one hand and typing on his laptop with the other. He’s also hidden in the shade, like a true emo. Vicky takes a deep breath in and exhales. Fuck it. Just introduce yourself and try not to get into trouble. She walks over to Julian, who’s still too invested in his laptop to even acknowledge her. What is he even doing, anyway? Writing fanfiction? As quietly as possible, she looks over his shoulder to study his screen. Oh. Oh. First of all, Chelsea was right, he does in fact smell like weed. Second of all, what the hell is he even trying to type? “Rejected and despised by all, I walk a dark and tormented path, leading to despair…” Julian suddenly shuts his laptop. “You know I know you’re behind me, right?” Shit. “I-uh-” She’s stammering now, trying hard to form words in her mouth. She then points at his backpack. “WEED. NOW.” It doesn’t take a genius to process what Vicky’s asking for. Julian takes 2 seconds. “...no.” “What?!” Vicky sputters. “But WHY?!” Julian slams his hand over her mouth and shushes her. “Jesus Christ, at least whisper!” In response, she removes his hand and hisses through gritted teeth, “...but WHY?!” He waves his free hand at the surrounding people. “Are you SERIOUS?!” He seethes. “Who KNOWS what the fuck you’d might say if I give it to you, you absolute dumbass!” Vicky whispers, “Come ONNN, Julian, just one ounce! Socializing and school’s been so hard for me lately! I bet you can relate!” The moment the last sentence leaves her mouth, she notices Julian’s eyes widen and his mouth hang open. “You-” He hesitates. “You-” Oh, fuck, I really screwed up big time, didn’t I?

Julian’s free hand is curling into a fist. …Oop, yup, I really screwed up big time. The hand that she’s clutching is shaking exponentially, like the boy’s about to explode at any second. She closes her eyes, bracing for the punch… BBBBBRRRRRIIIIINNNNNG!!!!! …but the punch never comes. Julian lowers both of his hands, glances at the crowd going towards the school doors, then looks right back at Vicky. To her surprise, his shoulders sag, and he lets out a huge sigh. “You know what? There’s no point in arguing. Meet me in the alley behind the building after school today.” “B-but I got cheer practice today-” “Fuck it, tomorrow.” He turns around and follows the crowd as they’re entering the building. “And bring the money!” The rest of the day had gone by in an absolute blur, and eventually Vicky found herself in the girl’s lockers with the rest of the cheerleading squad. “Yeesh, that shit was TOUGH!” One of the girls groans as she puts her stuff into her bag. “Tell me ‘bout it,” Chelsea grumbles. “Well, at least we had each other, right?” She gives a playful elbow jab in Vicky’s direction. “Oh, yeah, yup, mhm!” Vicky instantly replies, nodding. Chelsea buttons up her shirt and smiles at her. “Alright, I’m gonna wait for you outside, is that okay?” “Yeah, sure.” Vicky watches as Chelsea leave the locker rooms. “Oh, hi, Coach Kirk!” Chelsea exclaims. Sure enough, once Vicky leaves the school building, she notices Chelsea waiting for her in the courtyard. After they greet each other, they settle into their classic routine that is walking in complete investment with each others’ day. “Yeeeaaah, that test was TOTES unfair. I mean, why the FUCK were there apparently 3 Bs in a row?!” Vicky hisses angrily as she kicks a pebble on the sidewalk. Both girls watch as it hops and skitters down the road and onto the street. Suddenly, the pebble manages to hit a passing squirrel on the head, causing it to screech and hop away into a bush. “…Whoops.” The girls then continue to walk in silence. Vicky has no idea on what to talk about, and as far as she can tell, Chelsea didn’t know what to say either. That is, until she spoke. “Y’know, Vick…” Chelsea said as they stopped at a crossroad, “…what date is it today?” Oh, shit, I kinda forgot about that, Vicky chastises herself as she pulls out her phone. “Oh, it’s February 13. Why’d you ask?” “…what’s the signa— sigmi— eegh!” Chelsea shakes her head as she corrects herself. “SIGNIFICANCE of tomorrow?” She fidgets with her fingers as the two girls make eye contact. “Tomorrow’s February 14.” “Yeah, and what’s also tomorrow…?” Chelsea’s hands are waving slightly. Vicky can feel a slight uncertainty in the back of her mind. Then it hits her. “Tomorrow’s…Valentine’s Day.” “Y-yeah, I was originally hoping to do this tomorrow, but I think it’s better that I do this today.” Chelsea puts her backpack down in front of her and opens it. “Hold on, wait just a second-” Vicky feels herself standing completely still as she watches Chelsea continuously shuffling through her bag. What is going on?! As much as she loved Chelsea as a friend, something begins stirring in the back of Vicky’s mind. Oh, God, what’s gonna happen? Is Chelsea gonna give me a “Fuck you” card??? Wait, what did I even do to deserve it, then- “Here, I found it!” Chelsea stands up, one of her hands clenched around something. What even is it? “Uh, Vicky…” Chelsea’s now tapping her pointer fingers together, her hand still holding something. “You know we’ve been friends for a while…and being by your side for all these years has made me realize something.” Wait, is this going where I think it’s going- “…I…like you. Like, really, really, like, like you.” Right as the words leave Chelsea’s lips, something in Vicky’s heart stops. What that something is, Vicky doesn’t know. Is the feeling in her chest anxiety? Excitement?? Horror??? “Oh, shit, I forgot the card-” OH, GOD, THERE’S MORE?! Chelsea digs through her bag some more and pulls out a small pink card folded in half. To Chelsea’s credit, the card didn’t look bad — Vicky herself spots the amount of effort that was put into the paper hearts, the origami butterflies, and the pop-up rainbow. But something still is twisting Vicky’s stomach into two, and she doesn’t know what. She can’t even pay attention to what Chelsea was saying until the last part. “So, uh…Vicky Lopez…will you be my girlfriend?” Chelsea says as she opens the palm  of her hand to reveal what was in it. A heart locket necklace. Shit. On one hand, Vicky knows how incredibly sweet Chelsea is being right now, and she herself does care for Chelsea. But does she care for her that way? Do I like girls romantically? Do I like Chelsea romantically?! Hell, what would Mom think?! Smiling uncertainly, Vicky tentatively takes the necklace out of Chelsea’s hand and puts it around her own neck. It’s Vicky’s exact size. Vicky then takes the card from Chelsea’s other hand and skims through its contents. “I…” She finally stammers out, “I-I don’t know what to say…” Even Chelsea at this point looks anxiety-ridden — she’s fidgeting with her fingers and one of her knees is knocking against the other. What should I say? Vicky thinks. What should I do?! Throughout all her 18 years of living, she’s never even thought about love. Her mom would’ve probably set her up with some rich dude, anyway! There are two options she can take now — either she lets Chelsea down as gently as possible, or she accepts the confession and possibly puts her and Chelsea into a fuckton of shit. Fuck it, one option is safer than the other. This is for both her and Chelsea’s good. “I’m sorry, Chelsea…” She mumbles, “…but no, I don’t like you that way.” Chelsea’s expression drops into what can be best described as “well-hidden dismay instead of disappointment”. Alright, so... if I was Nancy, I'd be single. Not saying either boy is bad but I don't see either boy being good for her. Both made mistakes, that's for sure. Not saying they can't come back from it (Steve has had a brilliant arc and I'm sure Jonathan has learned not to take pics of people w/o their consent) but I'd personally much rather see Nancy thrive on her own rather than be reduced to a girl who needs a boyfriend at the end of the show.

I don't think she aligns with either of them. She's ambitious, she doesn't sound like she wants to have kids any time soon, if ever, so that basically cancels out Steve imo. At least, I don't think it's good for either of them to be with each other if they look so differently at the future. As for Jonathan, I just don't feel much for their relationship from what we've seen currently. Just don't really see it.

byler’s story arc follows the rom-com formula almost perfectly lmao.

- first couple introduced in the film is shown to be having issues with either lack of communication, cheating, working too much, or realizing the person isn’t their type anymore (mike and el suffering from a lack of communication, lying, and mike not being able to tell el he loves her)

- one half of the couple decides they want to get the other person back because they think that’s what they truly want (mike saying if he just would’ve said he loves el then he’d be with her)

- the character that you know the main character is going to fall in love with/end up with is now introduced and their love story arc begins (will and mike going on a road trip together, which honestly gives me “i am now in a situation where i am stuck with my ex so things are kind of awkward/tense but this situation has now made us closer and maybe i am still madly in love with them but that ship has sailed so now i have to continue trying to work things out with my current partner” rom-com vibes)

- one of the characters gives a big impression that they are still in love with the other character or has fallen in love (will gives a coded love confession. these happen a lot in rom-coms where it’s like “i’ve fallen in love with this person who is so great and beautiful and kind” or “i want to ask out this person that i’ve fallen for but idk how pls help” and you’re like “omg they’re talking about THEM to THEm NOW KISS” and if it is the final act then the character will recognize “oh they’ve fallen in love with me” but if it’s still the 2nd act then they’re going to think “damn this person sounds great! wish it was me but it’s not ://“)

- a conflict between the two characters you’re now rooting for happens. maybe it’s miscommunication or that one character is still persistent on making things work with their current partner/ex/crush (mike telling el he loves her)

so what does this mean for s5 byler if we were to say they’re following the rom-com formula? most likely continuing the conflict between mike and will because will has lied to mike and we have to have that conflict before they actually get together. it happens in every rom-com. then mike is going to realize he doesn’t want to be with el and that it’s always been will that he’s been in love with and then they kiss. the end <3

Honestly, it took me a min to process this weeks episodes.

I have been reading people thoughts about the episodes, and i miss when the Islanders had their own personal opinion on MC.

I'm also getting tired of FB desperately trying to make LI so shady in this case, Lewie, for me.

Like pls make up your mind. Is Lewie a sweet guy, or is he a red flag. Is Jamal the chilled cool guy, or is he a snake. Like i get there has to be drama but why is everything surrounding MC at least season 2 and 4 we had Priya/Noah/Hope drama Lottie or mc/Rocco/Marisol drama and 4, the whole Lexi/Kobi/Valentina.

If this is an attempt to bring back the story line of MC and Bruno, they are failing horribly.

At this point, i just feel like Ozzy is obviously the main character, I like him, but i really wanted to pursue and look into the other routes before his slow burn.

I did like that we finally got to interact abit with amelia and she wasnt mixed in the drama, but Pls for the love of god just get over what you have to say because i promise you i dont care if its anything Zeph involved.

I liked Lewie getting jealous, and im not gonna lie. i liked the whole (Suresh/Arlo) moment looking at each other through the dates, i wish we could have flirted like we did then, but i was a Suresh Girlie. But definitely, last season gave me whiplash, and i was hoping for a cleaner route the first time around.

The whole recoupling was so rushed like i was literally just coupled up with Lewie the night before????

Also once again FB WHY ARE YOU MAKING HIM GO TO TALK TO CHLOE BEFORE US, then coming to me to sneak away with you at the day beds???

Every single season since s2 we've all been like bring back s2. give us what we had back then. and I know when s2 was out people complained that MC was constantly in someone else's drama and it was too centered around the villa and not us. but why didnt they tweak that just a tiny bit instead of giving us the most boring season of life with s3. s4 I think is the closest we ever got to s2 because we actually had routes that season but we also had one of the ugliest MCs of all time. no need to drudge up the past on s5...I was a suresh girlie too and man they put literally everyone in hell every single week. I have some ptsd after that season and still havent been able to replay it. I know we said we wanted recouplings back after having zero last season but we actually wanted some control over them!! we didnt want fb to just dictate them all over again. fb lowkey has ruined the LJR route for me. one I hate that those THREE guys all have the exact same route. and then if you aren't romancing the other two u literally never see them or talk to them. S2 I never romanced Ibrahim or Gary and was never coupled with them but I actually got to know them and even though we were just friends I knew so much about them. We know nothing about the other guys. Some people have sent me asks about head canons for Roberto and I havent been able to answer them bc I literally dont know that man. the only people I know are Ozzy and Lewie and even then the convos have been kind of surface.

el and mike are soo 😭 there is something so lovely about love that blossoms from childhood whether or not it lasts (whatever that means) because mike and el’s foundations (imo) are built on kindness and just the earnest desire to make and keep a friend (!!!!) and thinking abt the fact that the duffers said s5 will involve a time jump, if I were to imagine what mike and el would look like as adults together like if their dynamic will hold up without the warm film of childhood … I honestly think it does/will. there’s something so wonderful about love that has settled or has been allowed to by time — and when a partnership begins from being children together? tbh it rarely works out but when it does it DOES.. idk how the season is gonna end, where everyone will end up.. but I hope sincerely that it does so so that the next one can begin with el and mike, slightly older and more settled and together underlined in bold. I think that dynamic will be so interesting to see actually play out! we got to see what a more adult conversation with them kind of looks like this season but and I loved it bc it felt authentic but that happened on shaky ground, and at 14 with their relationship a little wobbly. on a normal wednesday afternoon what do 17-18 year old mike and el talk about? what does that look like? I legit just can’t wait to see them talking lol anyways! I hope they aren’t kept apart at the end of the season again! the novelty is wearing off

Anon, it's like you reached into my head and pulled out all my words and thoughts. I love that we get to see Mike and El's relationship progress and develop over time, love that we get to grow with them. Their conversation/argument this season was so good because it was so real and so authentic, just a sign of them learning how to grow together and give each other what they need. They're not there yet - especially because they got interrupted by the police - but they'll get there. Their story arc isn't finished and we'll just have to wait until vol 2 to see it resolve.

But your point about what they'll look like in s5 (especially if there's a time jump) really made me step back and look at the overall progression we've gotten from them since the beginning.

S1: realizing they like each other/have feelings for each other

S2: deciding to stay dedicated to each other despite being separated, reuniting and then deciding to be together in a relationship

S3: figuring out what it means to be in a relationship and how to balance that with other aspects of their lives

S4: figuring out how to grow and communicate in a relationship given realistic challenges (long distance, growing up, etc).

So I feel like, by S5, their main "challenge" will be maintaining their growth, not backsliding, continuing to remember to communicate and balance their lives with each other and with their friends/family (pretty much literally what almost every couple wrestles with in real life).

So I don't see them being separated again (and not just because I hope they don't do this because it is getting very very tiresome). I can also see the Duffers wanting to have S5, dynamics wise, feel the most like S1, give the audience that nostalgic feeling as part of its swan song. So keeping Mike and El in the same storyline, have them share the majority of their scenes together, etc etc etc.

I also just want to see them be a mature couple, by which I mean they're sure of what they feel for each other, the "honeymoon" phase has worn off, and they're able to balance being together with other aspects of their lives even if they prefer at times to be alone with each other. I want to see them having soft conversations and just getting to enjoy being together given everything they've learned and experienced to get to this point.

So, to sum up: JUST GIVE ME SETTLED AND SECURE MILEVEN PLS. I don't even need it to be a main focus of the story! I just want it to be a real thing while the plot is reeling chaotically around them.

Not an ask, really, but I'm taking this unduly long hiatus as a chance to go back and watch SVU from the start (I got hooked into 3.0 w/ all the excitement about Elliot's return; I'm a sucker for the torture of slow-burn ships), and I'm so drawn in! And I don't have anyone irl to spiral with...

Anyway, I just watched s3e8, Inheritance, and it blew me away. Actually had me googling when Mariska's first Emmy nom was bc I was convinced that performance (final chat with Huang specifically) would have earned one. Gosh, she was so good right from the early days. And baby Benson is just such a compelling and rich character.

And as I suspected, seeing all the 1.0 EO is making the 3.0 EO hit so much harder. My strike silver lining is that I'll be able to get through 1.0 and 2.0 and maybe even rewatch 3.0-so-far before EO are reunited and (hopefully?) close the deal.

Oh this is so good!!! Yes pls give me all your thoughts as you're going back thru the series; I feel like s2-s5 doesn't get as much love bc so many of the big EO shipper moments happen later on, but oh my god so much good character stuff happens in those formative seasons, where the show is really just showing us who these characters are, what they believe, how they react to the problems in front of them. And inheritance is such a good Olivia episode, bc it really shows us some of the fears and the doubts that make up the core of who she is, that she carries with her thru the years, that she tries, at various points, to overcome, with varying degrees of success. It's understanding who she is that makes us care about who she loves, and who loves her. Good luck in your rewatch, enjoy!!

"live" blogging s7, vol 1 (some analysis, some jokes lol)

first off, I totally forgot there were other casa amor girls so opening the app to see them on the banner I was like oooo

the S7 MC isn't too bad art wise, like it's definitely better than I thought with the preview, but

I do think the skinnier size MC is super skinny and the bigger one is not that much bigger, which is a little disappointing (always appreciate more size inclusion). ideally I think there would be one more size up i think but I do understand that means they'd have to fix all the clothes 3 times.

speaking of clothes they've always been bad at the beginning of the season since like s4 and this is no exception. I wish we got more options in the beginning and then the others they tack on later

the skin tones really are only three shades with each having one warmer variation, which is kind of nice to have people get that option in tone, but I do still wish there were more shades variation in between (and darker ones in general)

for absolutely no reason I have decided that my MC is also gonna be the S5 MC from my first playthrough getting a second chance after a second failed relationship with Suresh (let's just pretend she didn't win her season lol) and she's cute in this style (but again i wish we had the right skin tone for her). I guess if fusebox is backing out of bringing back Eddie then I'm bringing my MC

Her name is Junie and she's doing a lot better now mentally and has gained a little bit of healthy weight and finally loves herself now so fusebox better not make an embarrassment out of her again.

this actually works out pretty well bc usually the casa amor girls on the show arrive at the same time unless something is special about one of them who can show up separately like MC does here (ok fine I've only seen that happen in LI USA S5 and I guess s6 of the game)

on the topic of the outfits, it usually bothers me a lot more if its transformations, bc i can totally write off casual outfits with 'oh, they're just matching besties!!' in my head. but like. you absolutely have a point! i absolutely adored the fact that they all had their own unique style in the earlier seasons. sigh...

and don't even get me started on the skbloom dRaMa with the memory loss and everything ugh pls just make it stop 😭😭

Weirdly enough while I have bitched to infinity and back about the samey-ness of Believix, and rest assured I'm carrying that same energy into this season, the civilian outfits actually bother me more lol. Like I can understand a fairy form sharing things (ie the magic Winx chunky boots and the Enchantix gloves/sandles) because they do need something that distinguishes them as the same transformation, but with civilian unless their all dressing for one hyper specific event there is absolutely no need for any of their outfits to look alike

OH MY GOD THE MEMORY LOSS THING IS JUST DUMB!! I love personal conflict in my stories because it provides depth and insight into each character's personal thoughts and life (season 2 my beloved), but this dumbass bullshit doesn't do anything of that!!! There are so many ways to have the girls be going though personal conflict subplots along with the main plot!!!! And you picked the dumbest fucking one!!! This is annoying me nearly as much as the dumbass Rivusa drama in s4

Sky and Bloom are royalty! Find drama there!!! Bloom probably needs to learn etiquette and shit, or maybe Sky needs to get into the Domino royal family'd good graces!!! Literally anything but more confession and jealousy drama!! We've been there and done that!! Find something that will show off depth and let us see the character from a new perspective!! This shit got stale in s3!

Oh s4 definitely makes me angrier than s5. Like I can never forgive s5 for the soft reboot, but at the same time if you look at the s3 personalities and the s4/5 personalities, it's very clear that the s5 personalities are closer to all of their og personalities

Like the weird ego all the girls got in s4, mixed with Musa/Stella/Bloom personality going out the fucking windpw, I can go on forever

But outside of a few incredibly annoying choice lines and all the fashion decisions, I can almost pretend that these are the same girls I love so dearly. I mean eventually s5 whacks me upside the head with another Musa line that makes it clear that no one at Nickelodeon or Rainbow gives a shit about her actual personality or fashion sense, but it's better than s4

It's not hard to be better than s4 but s4 couldn't manage it so credit where it's due I suppose
