Eddie only just was able to get the barman's permission to perform this night, and glad he is for it, as his pockets have weighed lighter than ever before in his life. He'd be pleased to find pay in a tankard or loaf tonight, anything to fill his aching belly.

But he's lucky as the men and women here seem to be in high spirits. The land has long been in war since the king's death, rotten bastard he may have been. Eddie hadn't been sad to see him go, but the chaos that followed had ruined the smallfolk in consequence since their coward prince had fled the scene of his crime. The king had been cruel, but still he'd been their king, and the common people spit on the prince's name still, even when some new royal's been crowned and brought peace with him.

And that kind of ire is what feeds Eddie on nights like this.

"Kingslayer, kingslayer, little Prince Steven has run," he sings, bawdy and loud as the crowd of men around him sing along. "Run up the hills and past the sun, took our king Phillip and gutted him plain, our kingslayer Prince Steven, a coward more than a maid!"

They sing along with him, hooting and hollering all to the end of it, and pay him in copper coins and ale that Eddie takes happily, slurping it down as he rests by the fire.

It's then he sees the table in the corner, the cloaked figures surrounding it, and the woman glaring daggers at him. But more interesting than that is the most beautiful man Eddie's ever seen, smiling at him wearily, eyes bright and interested and a little sad. Eddie's got no fear of a quick tumble with dangerous men, so he takes his gittern and his ale and makes his way quickly to them.

"Fair night, weary travelers," Eddie crows as he wiggles himself between the woman and the beautiful man. "What brings you so far out from the capitol?"

The lot of them regard him with mixed interest, the older man not even looking up and a girl with firey hair treating him with a sign of boredom.

"What business is yours to know, bard?" she says, already turning her nose off to watch the rowdy tavern beyond their table.

"None at all," Eddie says, leaning into the man beside him, slinging an arm over his broad shoulder to feel the heat of him beneath his cloak. "I'm here to do nothing but entertain tonight, and I fear I've bored your table to tears! I do take requests you know, for the right coin."

This he says to the man under his arm, leaning in closer to get a good look at those pretty brown eyes in the dim light of the fire.

"We have no coin for you, sot," says the woman beside them, ire evident in her tone. "Be gone with you—"

"No coin, that's true," says Eddie's beautiful man. He smiles at Eddie now, pearly teeth and pretty lips, and Eddie would sing him any song for nothing more than to keep those eyes on him. "You'll have to forgive us, we're not good company I'm afraid."

"Richer company wouldn't be as sweet as yours, dove," Eddie tells him, watching the pink of his cheeks darken.

There's a gagging sound from across the table, and its then that Eddie realizes he's in the company of striplings. Two girls in men's clothes, both of them are young in the face and barely past their majorities. Yet still they are travel-worn, all five of them: the two girls, the woman and the dour man, and the beautiful budde under Eddie's arm.

Chuckling, he says to Eddie, "A wag you are, bard, with such empty words. Do you flirt so with all poor men you find?"

"None are poorer than me, sweeting, and none are more enchanting than you. It is payment enough just to look at you, and I would sing for an age and fill my empty stomach with just your smile, or your taste if you'd grant me—"

"Gods damned!" the woman Eddie's other side gusts. "I cannot hear another foul word." She stands then, and the two girls follow, one rolling her eyes and the other giggling quitely. The woman leans past Eddie and hisses into her companion's ear, "Be done with this fool swiftly, or I'll leave you to the wolves."

"You'd never," he says back to her, smiling at Eddie, face flushed pretty and dark even as he speaks.

"Hopper would never," she says tilting her head at the remaining dour man still sitting at the table, deep into his cups and paying no mind to any around them. "But I would sell you for tanner and a duck to the first bidder."

"I'm worth at least an ox," he tells her with a cocky grin, and Eddie might want more than just one tumble with this man. "Find a room and I'll find you when I please to."

She huffs and stomps off, the girls on her heels.

"So," Eddie breathes, leaning even further into this beautiful man, until his voice is a secretive whisper, just for the two of them to hear. "Tell me, sweeting, what shall I call you when I write songs of your beauty to sing across the land, until kings beg me to their courts to recount your grace, your smile and your laugh?"

This man, to Eddie's displeasure, seems to wilt, to grow weary once more, even as he smiles and leans close, his words scarcely a breath against the shell of Eddie's ear.

"If it pleases you, and I'm sure that it won't," he confesses. "You can call me Steven."

El was scared, deep down, of failing. Of being too slow and failing. She had already failed just earlier that night. When she saw Steve. As he ran forward, she was scared for him, of him, of it all. She had been too slow, and she couldn't afford to let it happen again. 

The Upside Down was just as cold as she remembered, and she gripped her sleeves tightly. Hopper had her back but as they stopped in front of the building, she just knew One was hiding out, she was still scared.

She looked back at the man who became her dad and took a deep breath. She had to believe that they could do this. Taking one last second, she pushed away her fear of not being enough. She thought of the people who loved her, trusted her, and cared for her. She let that power her as she moved forward.

She stood tall with people behind her as a backup. One's body was deformed, and she could practically see the anger radiating from him. Hopper took a step forward to be at her side and she knew she had to do this. She had to end this. She needed to stop him to save her friends. Her family.

Her arm raised and she didn't let One say a single word before she blew him backward. Satisfaction grew as he let out a pained grunt. He was weak, their past attacks against him having done more damage than they originally thought. She moved forward, Hopper matching her movements. His gun trained on One, firing a shot every time he seemed to attempt to get back up.

She couldn't afford to give him even a moment of reprieve. El's kindness- her belief that telling One about Papa's death would have an impact had failed her last time. She wouldn't be able to beat him with words. But she had strength. She had the strength to end this.

El let out the feelings that had held her down since was forced to come to the realization that Will was pulled into the Upside Down because of her. She fought with the anger that had come from seeing Max's broken form in the hospital bed. She screamed out her grief at the loss of Robin. She felt tears fall from her eyes like the blood dripping from her nose as she hoped killing One would save Steve and Eddie. She fought against him, knowing she had the power to end this for all of those who died because of this. Because of One.

Mike ran, seeing Will on his left as they tore through the woods. The sounds of Eddie right behind them. The sounds of Steve off in the distance with their friends. Mike stopped abruptly and froze as they were cut off by a large crack in the earth. Will stumbled, unable to slow down fast enough and hitting the ground from the force of his stop.

Mike could barely catch his breath and heard Eddie's wings in the air. Without thinking, Mike moved and pulled Will to his feet. Before pressing him against a tree, a hand covering his mouth. In the air above he could hear Eddie's chittering. The sound was unnatural and close enough to a Demogorgon that Mike struggled to calm down.

He couldn't imagine the trauma it brought up for Will as they stood there trying to catch their breath and stay as quiet as possible. Will's eyes were wide, and he gripped Mike's arms that held him in place as if he was grounding himself. Mike leaned in a little closer to Will, thankful that at least he wasn't alone.

He could still hear the others in the distance, and he hoped that everyone was alright. But... he could still picture Dustin's scream as Eddie slashed at him. He could still hear the thud of Joyce hitting the van. The way Will shouted for his mom. How Eddie had turned to look at him, blood dripping from one hand. Mike hadn't even hesitated to shout at Eddie, drawing his attention.

Mike just turned and ran, hoping to give the others time. Only, Will had run after him. Making it so the two of them ran into the woods together. He had just wanted everyone to be okay. To live through this. As Eddie took to the sky to follow them.

Eddie let out another shriek before he seemed to give up on them. Mike didn't know what to do but as he pulled back Will shook his head and held him closer. They just stayed there for a couple more seconds. Just staring at each other before Will leaned away from the tree and into him.

Will let out a soft sigh and Mike shifted to pull him into a hug instead. The soft sound of surprise made Mike's chest tight, and he held him a little tighter to his chest. It felt like years since they had hugged like this. Tears welled up in Will's eyes and he hugged Mike back, the two of them just trying to calm down.

Only after another moment Will went tense in his arms. He pulled back a little and Mike looked over Will's face for a sign of what was wrong. His best friend had an almost dazed look on his face and Mike felt ice flood his veins. “Will?” Mike whispered as Will glanced around as if he was looking for something. Only he stopped when his gaze landed on the gate.

Mike didn't move as Will took a few steps towards the gate as if he was once again possessed. “Will,” Mike's voice broke, and he felt too loud, but he couldn't stop it. Will stood at the edge and Mike moved to stand next to him. He grabbed Will's hand and the boy almost jumped at the contact as if forgot Mike was there.

He looked at Mike, but Mike couldn't understand his expression. “We shouldn't go in there,” Mike tried but Will gave him an almost bittersweet smile. He looked back to the portal and Mike watched the way his shoulders slumped.

“I think I have to,” Will whispered.

Mike held onto Will tighter. “No, no this- it's affecting you again. We- we need to get you back to the car. We can get in the sauna; you can sweat it out.” Mike promised but Will wasn't listening. Will's hand pulled away from him and he scrambled to grab it back, but Will was faster. He shifted until the strange gravity around the gate, pulled him through. "Will!” Mike shouted as Will landed on his feet in the Upside Down.

Mike glanced around the forest before he followed Will through. He stumbled onto the slightly rotted ground. Looking around at the red lightning that crackled across the sky. He could hear the battle further away going on between El and Vecna. But he kept his gaze on Will.

He was looking up into the sky, but Mike couldn't look away from him. “Will, please. Just tell me what's going on. What can I- Will, come on, we- this is- I can't lose you.” Mike's voice seemed to finally get through to Will and he looked at him.

He swallowed as Will gave him a small smile. “The world is shifting. There's a- it's like a power imbalance. Like it's trying to break free from Vecna's hold.” Will whispered and he looked back up into the sky.

Mike looked up to see smoke billowing down towards them and he sucked in a sharp breath. But Will didn't look scared as it crashed into him. It moved around him so quickly it pushed Mike backward. “Will!” He screamed but as Will glanced over to him his eyes were black. Mike's heart broke as he realized how badly their plan was going.

Especially as he heard the shriek of Eddie getting closer. Knowing that he had been too loud and led the monster in his friend's body straight to them. Yet he couldn't pull his eyes from Will even as Will's eyes shut, and he looked at peace. The world almost seemed to spark around them, and Mike jumped as a vine shot out. It reached Will and soon more were pulling at Will, raising him from the ground.

“Will!” Mike screamed but was distracted by the sound of something going through the gate. The gate opened up as Eddie pushed through and Mike could see the inhumane eyes following him. He swallowed and glanced at Will. Will shifted and the vines holding him were almost glowing. The cloud of dust was lightening as well.

Eddie seemed almost confused too, frozen in place as he watched Will. Mike didn't know what to do but soon he knew his purpose. The dust shot out from Will, spreading out. The vines seemed to bloom with a new life as they dropped Will and slid back into the woods. Mike didn't think before catching his friend and holding him in his arms.

A panicked screak came from Eddie and Mike looked back as golden light, no, golden dust swirled around him. Pulling at him. Mike watched with wide eyes as the almost bat-like wings were basically torn into. The dust seemed to be pulling and pushing at him. Molding him anew.

Before he collapsed as if he were a puppet with its strings cut. He could see the way the darkness left Eddie's features. The shift of features under his skin. Mike felt frozen but Eddie didn't move. He just stared, dread in his gut until he noticed the rise and fall of his chest.

But then Will caught his attention. He blinked his eyes back open, his eyes swirled with gold that seemed to spread around them. Mike watched as it almost seemed to bloom out of Will and into the world around them. Filling it with life, looking straight out of a painting.

The ash-filled air, the black sludge, and the long vines that looked like tentacles all began to shift, to change. The air came out clearer, the sky shifting from red lighting and dark clouds into a hazy yellow. The trees shook off the rot until they were a light gray, with yellow leaves blooming on their branches. The vines shifted, going gray with little stems with more yellow flowers blooming out.

Yellow flashes of lighting still went off in the distance. But Mindflayer began to shift, and it lost its spiderlike form, instead, the rest of it was melting into the clouds and into the ground. The ground trembled as the smoke pulled chunks of the world into the air. Floating in the sky as if that's what it was meant to do. Pieces of the buildings were torn in two and collapsing to the ground.

“Will?” Mike asked and Will looked at his friend's big, anxious-looking eyes. “Are you- what are- you're eyes.”

Will blinked like he was confused, “what?”

Mike held him a little tighter, “They're glowing, like they- like golden.” He whispered but Will only continued to look confused.

“What's happening?” Mike begged to know, and Will glanced around them.

“I asked it to stop following One and be- to let us go.” He admitted, “I- it was like it was reaching out. Like it needed someone to push it to change.”

Mike's eyes widened, “when you said let us go- do you-” he looked over at Eddie in his arms. “Is it- is it really over?”

Erica curled up under Robin, but Robin wasn't attacking. She was frozen. Erica scrambled away and looked back as the darkness seemed to fade from Robin's features. She looked at Erica once more. Gone were the black eyes but instead her blue eyes were back with a swirl of gold within them. They were the best thing Erica had been.

Robin's arms shook until she collapsed onto the ground. Erica moved forward, watching in disbelief as the features that made her monstrous changed under her gaze. Like she was released from a hold. Erica reached forward slowly and as she took Robin's hand. Her hand was warm, and it made Erica choke out a sob.

Footsteps broke them apart and she looked back to see Sam Owens along with a couple of guards. Dr. Owens stared in shock at Robin before looking at Erica. Erica looked back to Robin instead. To the rise and fall of her chest. She was extremely pale, but she was there. Owens moved forward, checking a few vital signs on the older girl.

He let out quiet huh. Then looked at Erica, “I think we should get her in a hospital bed. She's gotta have a place to rest.” He says like she's going to recover. At her tearful gaze, Owen places a hand on her shoulder. “We're not going to let this miracle go to waste. We'll save her,” he promised, and Erica let out another sob.

She didn't let go of Robin's hand as they brought a gurney over and picked Robin up and onto the bed. Erica just moved in with her. Her lungs were still recovering, and her legs were weak from exhaustion, but she wouldn't leave her side. She'd stay by her side until she got better. Because Robin Buckley was going to get better.

Nancy moved to shut the door of the makeshift sauna when she noticed it. The shift of bones under her hands. She let go of Steve on impulse and Lucas seemed to do the same. Steve dropped to the ground with a thud and she winced. But then she saw it.

The way the black seeped from his features. The lines that formed the petal mouth, smoothed until they only had a faint thin golden scar. Nancy felt shock running through her bones. The radio went off and for a moment before a voice, Nancy didn't think she'd hear, filled the air. “You- you assholes did it.” Max's voice was dry and exhausted, but it was there. They all stared, frozen from the shock of it all. Then Lucas was taking the radio from her again and speaking too fast to even let Max respond.

She choked on a sob as Steve let out a low moan before he was blinking awake. She crouched down next to him. His eyes were the soft honey brown she loved so much but with a newer swirl of gold inside them. He coughed and black sludge escaped his mouth. His hand shook as he wiped his mouth. Without even thinking, Nancy helped him sit up.

He looked dazed and Nancy didn't know if it was from the sedative still in his veins or from coming back to himself. But she was patient enough to wait for him to snap out of it. “N-” His voice was truly wrecked, and it made him cough. She heard movement and Dustin, who was covered in a mix of Robin's and his own blood, came into view. He had a long cut from where his collar bones should have been to his hip.

Steve wasn't given a chance to notice the injury because Dustin was pulling him into a hug. Dustin was crying and Steve just melted into the embrace. His eyes fluttered shut and he fell asleep in Dustin's arms. She couldn't stop herself from reaching over and taking one of Steve's hands. His hand was warm, and it made her relax a little more.

Her gaze left Steve's for a moment to find Jonathan's. Jonathan was over by Joyce talking, the two of them watching the woods. The radio with Lucas crackled, cutting off Lucas. “I'm glad to hear you awake, Max, but I could use some help.” Mike's voice broke through and Nancy let go of Steve, to come by Lucas's side. “Will and Eddie are both completely asleep and I don't think I could carry one of them, let alone two of them.” He said and Nancy's shoulders relaxed the rest of the way.

“What happened?” Joyce took to the walkie-talkie, her voice sounding nervous.

Mike let out a laugh like he couldn't even begin to understand what was going on. “Will- God it was amazing. He connected with the Upside Down and he changed it .” He said and Nancy looked over to Steve. “He asked it to let them go,” Mike said and Nancy couldn't even begin to understand how amazing all these kids were.

El stumbled, exhaustion in her very bones but she stayed standing. Not that she could say the same for One. He lay in a pile of debris, his body still. She watched as Hopper moved forward, gripping the sword he brought back with him from Russia. She winced as he swung down and looked away as she heard the way One's head rolled away from his body.

“Radio Owens,” Hopper ordered, “tell them it's done.” He states and then he's in front of her. She looks up at him, noticing the slight blood splatter on his shirt that hadn't been there before. “It's over, kid.” He says and she nods before leaning into him.

She was so tired but she blinked awake as the world shifted around them. Hopper's arm wrapped around her as the vines shook off the rot. As the world seemed to brighten and change for the better. El's eyes found the few flowers that bloomed off of the vines, a beautiful golden color and she knew... she knew who did this.

“What-” Hopper started to ask, the other military personal swearing and freaking out.

But she only smiled, “Will.” She said, sure and calm. Hopper looked confused but she leaned down and gently brushed her hand on the golden flower. It felt warm and safe. Like Will always was to her.

The red of the world, the infection that was One, faded away. Until all there was, was Will. He wasn't controlling the world, but he was helping shape it. He was urging it to pick kindness after years of violence. “We won,” she said and looked at Hopper.

However, she couldn't help but think that it wasn't really over until she saw her friends again. Until she knew for sure that they won. The people around them moved on their own missions but El just wanted to back to her friends. Hopper looked down at her and seemed to understand. He took her hand, and they headed back out of the cracks of the Upside Down. 

After they got a ride back to the hospital, she was close to sleep but she was forced back into alertness as they reached the front doors. The vehicle the others had taken was terribly parked by the front door like they were in a hurry. Along with a large dent in the side. She swallowed hard, forcing her exhausted limbs to keep moving. 

The hospital was a mess, with nurses and doctors looking frantic as they entered. She dropped Hopper's hand and as she raced towards the room, she knew at least some of the others would be in. However, as she got closer to Max's room. She saw the blood on the floors and walls. 

Her heart dropped as she noticed the door no longer on its hinges that should've protected Max. She ran forward and felt tears in her eyes. But as she looked inside, she was shocked. 

Max was propped up against some pillows, Lucas's hand in hers. Three more cots pulled in a squished to the side. A lump of dark curls and twitching muscles as they slept on one, Mike sitting on the end of it. Two people so intertwined El didn't know where one started and the other ended in the second one. And Dustin sat on the last one with a nurse patching him up, Will curled up on the end of that bed asleep. The rest of the party is packed into the room, either standing or sitting in the plastic chairs. 

Nancy pushed away from the wall as she entered and El looked over them all. Joyce moved and took one of El's hands. "We're all okay," she promised and El's eyes watered as she realized that it was truly over. "We won?" Joyce asked and El nodded in agreement. Joyce caught her as she hugged her mom. 

She looked over to Eddie who was passed out on a cot, twitching like a cat in its sleep but alive and okay. The two, Steve and Robin, words were so muffled that she couldn't make out through the number of tears in their voices. But they only sounded relieved. Dustin smiled at her, and Max offered her, her other hand. Proving to her that they really were okay.

El moved over and took the hand, exhaustion in her every movement. "You did it," Max said and El nodded. "I knew you could." Max yawned and El felt the tears beginning to fall. But they were happy tears as Max shifted just enough to let her curl up with her.

The party fell asleep in the small room. Too many of them to be comfortable. But not one of them complained. Not after the night they had. Not as the relief drowned out anything else.

I've been ranting to my mom for like 3ish hours about evolution, animals, Pangea, dinosaurs and everything in between when it struck me that Robin would 100 and 10 percent be a maned lioness and now I can't get the thought about a lion like au with stranger things??

Like you know how unorthodox their pride would be?

Like male lion get kicked out of their prides around the age of 2 or 3 but here you have multiple males living in the same pride without killing each other like it would be so interesting

And like Brenner could be still evil and kidnapping lion cubs and lions for is zoo of something (like that one Netflix show Tiger King because the guy lost his animals I think) and El could be like a albino lioness and since she'd be raised in captivity you would think she could of died in the wild but no this strange pride of lions took her in and help her survive

Sorry I am getting too into the actual biology and zoology of this

But think of Robin traveling with a little cub which is Max, and Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will being little lion cubs, and Steve having a big ass mane because of his hair and Joyce traveling with Will and Jonathan because they ran away and uh it's just so good

And Nancy would be all unfriendly with Robin because she would have a mane and think she's a male but low and behold she's actually a female and Nancy actual enjoys her company (deep rooted hate towards male lions for Nancy because of her dad and other males that she and Mike dealt with when leaving their original pride) and helping Robin taking care of Max (who is also a maned lioness because I said so) and the four of them traveled together for a while before joining the actual pride because their such family goals

Steve used to be a zoo lion but after the zoo was closed and the animals were kept in a nature preserve for a while they were set free but Steve had no idea how to survive until Hopper who was in the preserve because of illegal poaching (caused by Brenner) taught him how to survive

Joyce left her original pride because her husband (leader of the pride) was absolutely horrible (not uncommon for lioness to leave to give birth but Joyce doesn't come back with her new cub) so you have this stressed lion roaming around with a new born cub and a slightly larger one trying to survive

Lucas, Erica and Dustin run away from their pride because of poachers who attack them, now you have these three small cubs trying to survive alone

Stranger Things Characters Summed Up

Warnings: bit of swearing and mentions of sex. (This has made me want to write smut about Eddie, Billy and Steve… and 001) Overall just me being a whore for fictional characters.

Joyce: She got less unhinged after season 1 which made me sad, but my favourite mum on TV at the moment. Can’t tell if I’m in love with her or want her to adopt me, but either way if she gave me a cuddle I’d start crying. I’m not sure how she created such boring sons tho.

Hopper: No one will ever love me the way this man loves Joyce. He’s my comfort character, and him arguing with the kids is fucking hilarious. “Maybe I will allow you to date my daughter” I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. Best Dad™️.

Billy: A tragic villain done perfectly, and I half fall in love whenever he’s on screen until I remember that he’s a racist. I’m a simp but I have morals. (But also, like, the potential this man had to be the loveliest in the world)

Bob: Was the scene of him dead and being eaten really necessary? No. It made for good TV though.

Max: Deserves way better than those boys, and is the ginger icon the 80s needed. I would get in a car with her.

Eleven: My wholesome little murderer. She’s somehow part of an amazing duo (Hopper/El) and a terrible one (Mike/El) so I must blame Mike for this.

Mike: If Stranger Things was a Christmas dinner, he would be the brussel sprouts.

Will: Surprisingly resilient for a guy who looks like a slightly strong wind would take him out. Just let this boy be gay and play D&D in peace.

Dustin: Somehow two steps ahead of everyone and four steps behind them at the same time? I love it, and the show would be shit without him.

Robin: An barely-functioning lesbian with autism? I love to see it and I love her. I’m very gay and she is the perfect example of why. I want to play with her hair while she talks about her hyperfixations.

Lucas: He’s cool when everything is fine, and really annoying during a crisis. I’m pleased that a show set in the 80s hasn’t killed off the black guy four seasons in. Less interesting than his sister, but him and Max are pretty funny.

Nancy: A solid character when you remove her from the Jonathan and Steve situation. She’s very clearly in love with two men, girl take a break from dating and buy a vibrator. She’s very hot with a gun and uses it well, which automatically earns my respect.

Steve: I am so in love with this man, and the fact he uses a baseball bat instead of a gun is beyond sexy to me. Please fuck me. “Yeah it’s me, don’t cream your pants” Sir I am literally on my knees.

Less horny Steve version: Him protecting those kids is definitely my favourite thing about this show. The character growth is impeccable, and I melt whenever he makes the kids go ahead of him when there’s a danger.

Jonathan: Oh yeah, he’s… there? A good brother but that’s kind of it, a very bleh character. I’m still not really over him taking those pics of Nancy and Steve…

001: Very hot while he was murdering the kids. Less hot while he was murdering Max.

Eddie: I want him to rail me while I praise him. And HE DIDN’T RUN AWAY THIS TIME :(

I’m absolutely humming with the idea of a steddie School Of Rock AU because EDDIE? As the washed out rocker who’s become so focused on one thing but also self sabotages himself from getting that thing and who has been so disconnected from others for so long he has lost sight of what music IS?

And STEVE the down trodden principal who USED to be so fun loving, big guy on campus turned teacher with a passion for kids and helping others but found himself in a position that was so much for him that he just cracked under the pressure ? And now he’s just the fun-sucking principal people are kind of afraid of but the faculty remember spare moments of old Steve peeking through and know he’s a good guy who has been forced to become a crushed cog in the system…

Eddie comes in pretending to be his friend for a quick paycheck, no teaching experience, nothing.

THE KIDSSS first of all WILL on lead guitar, lived his whole life with his dad putting him down and Eddie sees this and brings out his confidence through guitar and song writing (the CREATIVITIYYY) and Eddie sees how some kids in other classes talk to him (mostly through slurs) and immediately picks him up and is like “I’ve had Will for 2 hours but if any of you say another mean word to him I’ll kill everyone here and then myself”

LUCAS who’s parents have such high expectations of him has learned classical piano since he was 2 and now can learn to let loose and live by HIS rules on the keyboard.

MAX who’s been in a depression after family drama does bass and finds herself and connection to her friends.

EL ON DRUMS El on DRUMS she’s been passed around in a foster system so many times and she has this new dad Hopper who cares so much but doesn’t know how to connect and she has so much EMOTION she’s never been able to express before that now she can just BANG out on drums

DUSTIN is tech OBVIOUSLYYY his mom coddles and helicopters and doesn’t let him make his own decisions or let him breathe and now HE controls lighting, sound design, all of it

Mike is where I faulted because he’s not a character I’m passionate about (sorry) but with his penchant for being the Protector I have to assume he’s the main roadie and also security- he handles all the small details and works with Dustin to makes sure Steve never finds out what they’re up to (if anyone has suggestions for Mike please throw them in lmao)

ERICA. IS. The BAND MANAGER. She’s not even in the CLASS but she overheard Lucas talking about the band project and how it’s so good for school reports and appears in the doorway (“don’t you have class?” “Don’t you have two brain cells you need to look for so you can rub em together to try and produce fire?”) and threatens to out them if Eddie doesn’t let her in on it- so she’s running the literal show now

The teens are all teachers at the school- Robin and Nancy, art teacher and English teacher respectively. Johnathan is the classical music teacher (Eddie clocks him as an ex stoner IMMEDIATELY) and they all basically want Steve to get back to his old self and think Eddie’s just the trick to do it so they absolutely push them together when they can- which is good for Eddie because he needs to butter Steve up so he can get permission to take the kids on his “educational field trip” but buttering Steve up turns into a slippery slope and oh no they’re in love!!

penny for your thoughts on stranger things season 4 (specifically volume 2)?

alright i wrote out an entire essay last night and tumblr deleted it, so i’m going to try this again and hope it actually works 😭

spoilers and rambling under the cut!

so for the most part i really enjoyed volume two. i loved the cinematography, particularly the part when nancy was shooting vecna and hop was fighting the demogorgon while the remix of running up that hill played. i also loved how it showed the three groups managing to come together, even as spread out as they all were. like! theres my bad ass crew of characters that i love so much, finding ways to win even from three different places!!! and of course we FINALLY got the jopper kiss…. i have been thinking about ‘use your imagination’ ‘who needs imagination?’ for two days straight. no one is doing it like them. just so many little interactions and moments that i loved— el and hopper reunion, lucas and max talking on their pads, lucas holding maxs body 😭, dustin and eddie’s relationship, eddie’s guitar solo, all the robin and steve bestie moments, the way the threads of the story all came together, the little jokes and beats of humor, el piggybacking and saving max… there was a lot i liked.

however. the things that i didn’t like were kind of big sticking points to me, and made it so that i didn’t enjoy it as much as i’d hoped to.

first of all, the episodes were simply too long. like for a complicated storyline, with so many moving parts, the episodes were just…. really dense. during episode nine i kept going ‘is it done yet? is it done yet? is it done yet?’ because i got overstimulated and tired. and i suppose i could have just paused it, but i find stopping in the middle of an episode very difficult. id have rather them be shorter episodes that i could pause at the end of and come back to when i was ready. and that’s kind of sad because like. i KNOW i missed things, but it’s such a big task to go back and rewatch it all that idk if i will anytime soon.

second of all…. eddie. stranger things has such a problem with introducing side characters just to kill then off, and eddie is just another in a long line (robin, murray, and erica being the main exceptions). which is interesting to me, because everyone was talking about how there was going to be this huge emotional character death this season, and like… i sobbed like a baby when he died, because i loved him, but it was almost expected. it would have been much more shocking and devastating if it was nancy or steve (who i thought was going to die). the fact that they did kill of eddie was also just so painful because 1) he was so loveable and i would have loved to see him grow and become part of the group, looking after the kids with nancy and steve and robin and jonathan, and also getting to have that sense of family when he’d only ever had his dad before. 2) the dialogue with dustin…. god that was heart wrenching. that was the one part of his death that i liked. i was sobbing i was shaking i was a fucking mess over it. 3) i can’t help but see eddie as a gay man— his entire story with being a freak, an outsider, unwelcome, and unknown by anyone but hated by everyone was very reminiscent of the gay experience to me. and so the fact that he died…. it was like okay yeah of course the queer coded side character died. of course he did.

and finally… will. i don’t even know where to start. they did him so dirty. this main character, around whom the entire over arching plot of the show has revolved, was treated like a side character. will, who has a connection to the upside down unlike anyone else, barely had any screen time that wasn’t him just setting up mike and el. literally without him there wouldn’t BE stranger things, and yet they just. tossed him aside. the only times he was around was when his own pain and suffering and feelings were used to deepen mike and el’s relationship— which had already had three prior seasons to develop!!! it just felt awful to have this character— who is clearly gay, clearly in love with his best friend, clearly already feeling like an outsider— tossed aside and disregarded. like not a single person except jonathan seemed to notice or care about him the entire season, and it’s like…. it’s just frustrating. like i wish they weren’t using his pain and love and feelings to elevate the heterosexual ship. idk.

so overall, it was good, but those are really big things that i didn’t like and so i don’t feel like i enjoyed it as much as i wanted to.

Stranger Things spoilers behind the cut

Holy crap, the last two episodes were so intense--and so good, I must've wept upwards of 8 times. Overall, this has been one of my favorite seasons, and not just because of Nancy constantly reevaluating her life and why, specifically, Steve still isn't in it. BUT MY THOUGHTS:

I was expecting sooooo much more to happen between Will and Mike, but dang! Hand that Noah kid all the awards, he wasn't wasting what little screentime he had. Him stifling his crying into his hand????? After talking to Mike about El but really about HIMSELF and Mike not getting it???? GOD. I know people have been real dang quick to call out the lack of, well, anything explicitly indicating Will has feelings for Mike as queerbaiting but, what?! I feel like his feelings have been SO evident and handled sooooo carefully and beautifully, especially in how Jonathan has been observing it all. I can't imagine the show is just gonna make this a one-off thing, it, like everything else this season, had a dot-dot-dot of "to be continued" all over it. (Also, the painting reveal was worth the wait! You just know Will's 'El commissioned it' lie is going to catch up with him.) (Also also, Jonathan is probably my least favorite main character, just in terms of like... how much screentime I wish he had, but every scene he shared with just Will was a 10/10 no splash slap to my heart.)

I can't believe they killed Eddie!!! I was full on Troy "my emotions, MY EMOTIONS"'ing from the second he and Dustin committed to being decoys, to him buying everyone more time and staying in the Upside Down, to him deciding to stop running, TO DUSTIN CRADLING HIM AS HE DIED. Ahhh!!! I kinda figured, even with all the "ohhh, so many characters are gonna die" talk it wouldn't be a main character, and it wouldn't be Robin, so it had to be him, but I was still bummed. I know Steve-and-Dustin is an untouchable duo but the Dustin-and-Eddie dynamic carried the second half of the season for me.

Thank god El was piggybacking from a pizza freezer and could save Max. Semi-save her. The Vecna deaths were already horrific when they were happening to characters we didn't really have a lot of emotional investment in, but seeing Max go through that? While Lucas was losing his mind with grief???? I know I already said Noah was killing it in these final episodes, but honestly, hand alllll those kids an award, they were on a whole other level in vol. 2.

Sooooo happy Joyce and Hopper are leaning hard into their feelings for each other. You know, why keep fighting it when one half of you was legally declared dead for 8 months. They're so sweet and they deserve to go on that damn date.

The reunions between Will + El, Hopper + El, and Joyce + El had me straight up sobbing. I love their family! If I had been an emotional robot the entire previous time, if I hadn't had already sobbed a million times and stayed dry-eyed, El and Hopper's convo in her room would've gotten me to break. HE'S HER DAD 😫

Still here for the Stancy of it all. I'm juuuuust a little disappointed we didn't get more of a reaction to Steve pouring his heart out about Nancy being the one in all his Harrington brood family vacay dreams (!!!!!!!!!) but, like, she's with Jonathan. She loves Jonathan. I appreciate that no lines were ever really crossed. But now she knows how she feels. She can do something about it if she wants to, especially because! It's so clear the show is trying to do with Nancy/Jonathan what they did at the end of s1 with Steve/Nancy. That "oh, I don't think I'm emotionally in this relationship anymore but I'm gonna put on a brave face and power through" thing I despise so much. If there's a time jump next season, I'm gonna be real surprised if those two are still together. And if they are, you know it's gonna be by a damn weak ass thread. They love each other but they're not even TRYING to be there for each other.

And back to making this a Steve/Nancy bullet point! You know who was there for each other this season? Steve and Nancy! In so many "look at how far they've come!" ways. Their faces and the way those faces were looking at the other all throughout this season? Exquisite. 🤌 They just have soooo much chemistry. All the show has to do is let the camera linger on Steve staring at Nancy a little dazed, a little lovestruck, and Nancy staring back at Steve a little smirky, a little flirty, AND I AM SOLD, BABYYYY.

Which makes Nancy running into Jonathan's arms, IN FRONT OF STEVE, after everything, all the more soul-bruising. Some good looking out by Robin in that moment, though. Just like Steve was there to try and console her after she peeped HER crush locking lips with someone else. Their friendship is one of my faves.

(I just remembered when Steve and Nancy jumped back into the Upside Down and almost kissed!!!!!)

Will and the car on fire (theories)

*this is just under the assumption this is Will in the pic and not some other character. Which is still very possible .

Why it could be Will (it's for sure possibly not)

But, most of the rebuttals saying it's not Will are iffy. Cause we really don't have much evidence to point to any 1 character. Like the hair counterargument: that the hair is too long to be Will's .Will's s4 body double has a similar hair tuff on the back of his neck. And we know st uses camera shots of the back of Will's neck/silouette ,in past seasons . So doing so here could make sense. And Will of course is the most associated with fire: using fireball for Will the wise in s1 (3 times), the will the wise drawing from s2 had flames on his cloak, Will being being burned in s2,etc.

So...Will looking at lightning. And (Will?) looking at fire. Both have a dark full body sillhouete and red in the forefront .

We also see this character is possibly wearing a watch like Will?

And i've been hearing this a lot here ... but southern california (where the Byers are) does have a lot of trees lol. Not sure why people think otherwise.But, regardless a trip from cali to Hawkins would most certainly have some forrest.

*Also, any movies I’ll be mentioning (in the theories , below) were stated to be inspiration for ST.

So theories...

Theory 1) It's Joyce's car ( and it was rigged  to explode/look like an accident by Brenner or Lonnie). And Will wasn't there but sees it in a nightmare cause it's already happened/or it's a dream vision of the future.

Evidence:  CAR TROUBLES: Joyce’s car model was infamous for exploding in car accidents-being sued by the state of Indianna before the start of the series. We also have Alexi tell murray about a way to cause cars to explode-and turn people into dust (and make it look like an accident). Brenner’s name means “to burn” and he already hurt 1 mother to keep a subject -so not out of the realm of possibilities for him to hurt Joyce (and make it look like an accident to try and get Will and or el). 

In s3, we have Jonathan and Hopper try and fix  the car-and after this cars explode with people inside. Jonathan lifts the car hood- and notices someone rigged nancy’s car . Than,  right after,Billy’s car lights on fire with him inside. With Hopper (he also lifts the car hood) and joyce barely escapes the lit car (but she may not be so lucky next time).

 We also have Joyce tell Will 3x she’s going to be ok... which is a bit overkill if she will be OK ... 

And, notice during the hoodlift we see Will observing- which is similar to Alexi watching and warning them before hand that the car (with Joyce inside) will explode. So it’s possible foreshadowing since Will may predict the future and was was paralleled to Alexi.Alexi ‘can we watch lonnie toons now?. Will : can we play d&d now?

movie inspos: 

It’s hinted s4 will be around Will’s b day: In gilbert grape- Arnie after his b day, has his mom die, and a fire was stagged that lit his mom on fire. ( Before this,Arnie was also raised by his older brother Gilbert cause his dad wasn’t around). stoker-  kid’s parent dies in staged car ‘accident’ on her bday (this allows ab*sive relative closer to kid-since dead parent banned him from seeing kid). The kid  was taught how to hunt, by dad. And is also a painter and bullied at school (like Will). what dreams may come-painter blames themselves for fam dying in freak car accident- the relative was getting a present for them when it happened. so they blame themselves. The descent- also had (right before a b day, the main character’s fam dying in a car accident) .And the sole survivor/family member of the deceased hallucinates a shadow chasing her in a empty hospital hall. Get out-photographer (jonathan)blames himself for mother dying in car accident.

There’s also a lot of other films where the kid (for no logical reason) blames themselves for their mom’s/parent’s death: goodson, dream catcher, analyse this,etc. Of course ... this could simply relate to max and el having survivors guilt after the mall killed their family members (in a fake ‘mall fire’). However, a fake out fire causing  family to die (in s3)  could be foreshadowing for it actually happening in s4?

rigged car explosions: scarface -have guys try and bomb a car with kids and parent inside. backdraft -guy raised by older brother had 1 parent die in explosion and sees the freak explosion occur- later in the film someone rigs a car to explode and masks it as a  freak car accident. Same thing occurs in godfather- he sees family member die in rigged car explosion. The dark knight- rigs car to explode. batman v superman- calls superman a demon and says they need to burn the witch that bore him (aka his mom).

dreams (if in the past): Never ending story (reffed in s3)- starts with kid with bowl cut saying he had another dream about his mother who died. Peanut butter solution- kid has visions in dreams about people he knew who died in fire.  this next movie (emily rose) is  said to be Joyce byers inspo according to Winona - has (kid with 2 personalities) have nightmares from the past  of her and her mother burning in a car fire. while screaming/sleep walking she burns windows with her hands -accidentally using her powers. Some people suspect the videogame “life is strange’ is show inspo too- it has character named max caufield with a ‘never maxine rule’, etc. Anyways in the game prequel queer chloe, who plays d&d, would have dreams/nightmares of her nice parent’s car accident . Despite , chloe not being present for the car accident. After the parent’s death,  she’s stuck with her mean step dad.

dreams (if predicting the future): Will says in s3 Will the wise can see into the future. We also see Will/Will the wise via a dream predict Hopper was in danger-saying  to Joyce “he’s going to die”.  In ‘12 monkeys’ and ‘Rebel Robin st novel’ they mention the myth of cassandra- who could make accurate future prophecies , but was cursed to never be believed by those she warned. In 12 monkeys- he tries warning others of a dreaded event in future- and it’s dismissed as  him being mentally ill. Since, Will’s other abilities were dismissed as his ptsd in s2-and with the Byers fam having a family history of mental illness (they may not believe him over such a prediction). In ‘the ring’-the  movie opens with the guardian saying the boy is drawing the car accident that killed his mom -as a psychological coping mechanism. Only for the teacher to say he made that drawing before his mother’s death (and it’s revealed later the boy is psychic). Terminator 2- sarah conner says she is having future visions, which include explosions, and everyone dismisses it as her being schizophrenic. Like how in s2 a scientist said about Will “let’s see if this boy is a wizard or a schizo”.

If joyce survives the accident she may be hospitlized (and unable to have legal custody). In black swan the girl (with 2 personas) -blames herself for what happened to Winona Ryder’s character (who is in a coma after a car accident. They had had a verbal fight before the accident). In girl with the dragon tattoo- the main character (who is compared to a phoenix and dragon) has 1 parent burned in a fire- and after this her kind guardian is hospitilized so they can no longer take care of her- and she is placed with an ab*sive foster dad (who resembles her bio dad). If Joyce was in a coma - it would further parallel her to terry- and be another willel parallel.

 if dead: Tokyodrift- mom loses custody, and dad who is a mechanic and abandoned the family years ago, later gets custody. Super 8-mom dies in freak accident- douche dad gets custody. Book of henry-mom dies pre-film, ab*sive dad got custody. Outsiders- parents die in car wreck, relative gets custody of teen who he slaps etc.In black swan-girl who blames herself for Winona’s accident is stuck living with ab*sive parent. good son- mom dies, stuck with violent and manipulative relative after this.

Of course-joyce may be fine. And Lonnie may just visit for Will’s b-day and ruin shit that way.

Theory 2) It's an undercover government car that Will uses his powers against in self defense... or in anger after they hurt someone he loves.

Evidence:

Joyce about ‘Will the wise’: If he’s so wise, why does he need the fireballs? Why can’t he just outsmart the bad guys? Will: cause the bad guys are smart too. Joyce: so he needs the fireballs? Will: Yeah, to burn them to a crisp.

* the fact-this flashback happens at a funeral of a Byers, could also be narratively significant as foreshadowing.

Gov agents in s1 are  called “the bad-men” so Will may use fireball on “the bad-guys”(government agents) . Fire has been used on all the other adversaries relating to the upsidedown-so why not the gov agents (aka human villains) next? 2 movies on the inspo list caught my attention: firestarter & carrie (which are both stephen king adaptions with psychic kids who have fire abilities). 

Firestarter- she has pyrokineseis (firepowers) . And unlike every other psychic in the film- she is the only psychic that doesn't get nose bleeds (aka mini brain hemorages) from using her powers (Will). We know el and kali gets nose bleeds.  

(Anger): She only unleashes her fire abilities on gov agents after they kill her parent...

*And uses a literal “fireball” on them.

Could also be another willel parallel. kali about the US gov:" They took your mother away from you!" El str*ngles man from gov agency that incapacitated her mom . El before str*ngling him: " you hurt mama".

(self defense): While  in carrie  she kills people who tried to run her over with a car. And causes the car to explode.

Also, in s3 Steve does technically cause a car to explode to protect Nancy from being run over by a car (so maybe foreshadowing?). I believe, tumblr user ‘bran-who-writes-theoretically” was the first to point out the Carrie/car on fire parallel.

* This car scene could also be added to the list of Willel parallels. El  in s1 uses her powers to flip a government-car upside down. And looks back at it. And it’s a ref to the film Et. So Will causing a government -car to explode and flip upsidedown (referencing carrie) could be a parallel. 

Of course El flipped over a car in s3 to attack the Soviet agents and protect her friends too ( right before losing her powers). Sort of like Steve using his car as a weapon in s3 to protect his friends. so who knows, if not Will, maybe El (wearing a ponytail) got her telekenesis back and she flips the car and it explodes ? To be honest, I just find this explanation too boring, cliche, and predictable. And I still hypothosize the mindflayer took her telekensis (but not her other powers). Since in d&d mindflayers have ‘mage hand’ (what el is called) and ‘telekenesis’/ along with the ability to steal powers from other life forms. But, we’ll see...

Theory 3) The car flips (maybe caused by a deer jumping in the road) and it blows up after the crash- with Joyce inside. And maybe Jonathan survives it/ Will wasn’t there but had a nightmare /vision about it?

Evidence: in s1 Jonathan sees a dead deer that was hit by a car. This could be symbolic : because it related to Jonathan mentioning the hunting story with his dad and how he cried for a week cause he liked the film Bambi. Which in the film : Bambi (a deer) has his mother k*lled. And after his mother’s death, he’s taken in by his douchey dad who was M.I.A for most of his life ,until his mom passed away. And the hunters are the bad guys in the film . In ‘get out’ the photographer , Chris,blames himself for his mother dying in a car accident - and he sees a dead deer hit by a car -and the dying deer was used to symbolize the guilt he has over his mother’s  death. in ‘the long kiss goodnight’ a character is driving home with a friend- they swerve and hit a deer and 1 of them is ejected from the car into the forrest. But their friend is unconscious in the car and it quickly explodes on the road. The survivor turns and sees the car in flames- disoriented they stumble and kill the dying deer. And it’s left ambiguous if they were helping the deer end it’s pain or if it was vengeful-hunting (since it caused the car accident that killed their friend). Cause their face was emotionless from shock.

Even in the st novel "suspicious minds' rabbits- like jonathan was forced to kill on the hunting trip with his dad (around his b-day) represented the bond between mother and child.And the mother sacrificing herself for the baby-to not get k*lled (by Brenner).

-so maybe?? jonathan before he gets the pizza job/car (may have his car break down , like hinted it would in s3).

 So him and Joyce share the car (once his car stops working) and the accident happens while Jonathan is behind the wheel -with Joyce. And after this he gets the job at surfer boy pizza. Billy was a surfer boy and that memory was used to think about his mother who is no longer around (once he's stuck with his ab*sive dad after moving away from Cali). While Jonathan moved to Cali after his mom passed-maybe stuck with Lonnie.Jonathan's actor in recent pics has a blonde mullet - which sort of resembles joyce/Billy's og hair. This may be why he starts doing dr*gs - which is pretty out of character for him- but it could be a coping mechanism(like in the s4 films). One of many examples was 'enter the void'- the older brother was surrogate parent to their lil sibling and after a car accident k*lls his parents , he starts doing dr*gs to cope. Also ‘hunger games’ was on the list- and Katniss (who was a surrogate parent to her litle sibling, like Jonathan is to Will) in the sequel, saw her family die in an explosion. And it really broke her emotionally.

I've mentioned this before but Billy is used to parallel and foil Will and Jonathan. And it may be more than a ... what if Lonnie had custody scenario. But to show how Lonnie (like most ab*sers) will later bring out the worst in the kids (once he does have custody). Like how s3 has Will mimick lonnie with the baseball bat (and we see in s3 Billy being bullied by his dad to play baseball and flashbacks showing him mimicking Neil). I've also discussed how there's a theme with pretty much every character mimicking their parent- for better or worse.

Killing a deer would certainly hint at Jonathan's possible character regression (and mimicking Lonnie to a certain extent). if he not only blames himself for Joyce's death. But is also stuck with his ab*ser.

The animal k*lling motif , and after that, mimicking an a b*sive father is already shown with el. Brenner , in s1,tried to make her k*ll a cat (using her powers) and she refused (similar to the s1 rabbit hunting story of Lonnie forcing Jonathan to k*ll a rabbit ). But in s2, she uses her powers to k*ll a squirrel (and like a deer- it's typical hunting game). Than in s3 el does literally everything Brenner ever asked of her- she spies on people and repeats the words back (like brenner told her to do), she becomes a weapon to ‘fight the commies’ (which was said to be the reason he k*dnapped her in the first place), and when looking into the void to see the mf (she mirrors the words brenner told her - when he made her go into the void to face the demogorgan).

And some s4 movies are literally about being trapped in a house with your ab*ser and slowly losing your mind because of the ab*se and gaslighting- lighthouse , black swan , good son, are prime examples. But movies like scar face , girl with the dragon tattoo, and book of Henry touch on this theme a bit as well. And ordinary people- is about a guy who survived a vehicular accident but his relative in the same accident didn't- and it causes him alot of issues /survivor's guilt.

The shadowy figure could just be Will in the shot - seeing it in a dream before or after it happens?

Theory 4) Will sees a future vision or has his ’now memories’ of someone else's car.

Evidence: i guess the s4 shot parallels El (in s3) spying on Billy while he’s hurting Heather. During that spying scene: the shot is of El near Billy's car. So it’s possibly a diff willel parallel?

If not Will. Who knows ...if El’s telekenesis is gone maybe her spying abilities strengthened and look different because of it (and now she can see background details)?

Theory 5) it's Lonnie's car and Will escapes from the trunk and uses his powers in self defense

Evidence: I’m pretty iffy on this one. This goes back to how people suspected Lonnie took Will in s1 (and could be foreshadowing). Even the recent rebel robin book-has characters say Lonnie probably took Will. Jonathan suspected Will may be at Lonnie’s - so checks Lonnie’s car trunk (to see if Will is there). We also see how the mf in s3, knocked people out by dr*gs/str*ngulation, ties them up, and throws them in a trunk (to k*dnap them). Or how the cops raided jonathan’s trunk- which had stuff to track the demogorgan (and the demogorgan parallels Lonnie) . And after looking in Jonathan’s trunk-they suspected something fishy is going on.

*heather was described as “another me” by Will- who was thrown in the trunk.

movies: “tangled” was on the s4 list- and had an ab*sive parent later try and kidnap their kid ,and that parent ends up dying. in girl with the dragon tattoo (the girl associated with dragons & phoenixes-  lights her  ab*sive bio dad on fire. In ‘drop dead fred’ (girl who is in love with childhood friend, named Mikey, who she met at age 5) lights a imaginary version of her ab*sive parent on fire - while in a trippy memory world. Chrissy accidentally lights her ab*sive relative (nickname “daddy”)  on fire in self defense- in a trippy hell memory scape. in ‘long kiss goodnight- the girl with 2 personalities (Will/will the wise) was kidnapped and put in a trunk and escapes by jumping into a quarry. Not sure if that could relate to a flashback or something else? like in ‘don’t breath’ the older sibling who essentially was a surrogate parent to the younger sibling-mentions how their dad left the family, and her parent would throw her in the trunk for hours as a punishment.

Day 23: Picnic

Jim Hopper never really expected to make it back to Hawkins from fucking Russia of all places, so he definitely didn’t expect to make it back and pretty much immediately end up with a second kid. It was just that Billy Hargrove had sacrificed himself to save El, and had somehow survived it, and Joyce was still a little mad at Hopper for not doing more about Billy’s shitty dad, and she had given him that look when it turned out that Billy didn’t appear to have anywhere to go once he got out of the hospital. 

Well, he had one place to go, but Hopper figured moving into Steve Harrington’s apartment could wait until they were both out of their teens. He told everyone who would listen that it was because while Steve and Billy were both technically adults, they were also dumbasses, especially when they were together. He said, loudly and often, that he simply didn’t trust those two boneheads not to burn down Steve’s entire apartment complex, if left to their own devices. 

What he said much more quietly, and only ever to Joyce, was that he remembered what it was like to be a kid with a shitty dad, and to cling to something simply because it was better than what he was used to. Billy might still end up with Steve—probably would, if the starry-eyed way they looked at each other was any indication—but Hopper wanted him to get there because he chose it, and not just because he needed a place to go. 

Billy, for his part, insisted loudly and constantly that he would much prefer to live in an apartment of his own, out from under Hopper’s tyrannical thumb—and yes, that was a direct quote—but he somehow never actually found one that he liked. No one ever called him on it.   

What Hopper hadn’t counted on, when he insisted that Billy move into the fancy house that he had bullied the government into buying for him and Joyce and the kids, was Billy and Steve’s commitment to fucking, just, all the goddamn time. Hopper had missed most of Billy’s recovery while he was in a Russian prison, but he found out later—from Joyce and Nancy and Jonathan and Robin and even some of the kids—that they had been caught at least half-naked by just about everyone before Billy was even released from the hospital. He wished, far too late, that he had chosen a house with fewer windows. There were far too many points of entry for him to manage effectively. 

“You know Steve thinks he’s stealthy?” he said to Joyce incredulously one night after he caught Steve—wearing what was obviously one of Billy’s shirts and the smallest pair of shorts Hopper had ever seen—sneaking out of Billy’s bedroom window. Billy’s second-floor bedroom window. “He’s going to kill himself falling off the damn house.”

“You didn’t catch him until he was already leaving, Hop,” Joyce pointed out, “so he’s not exactly wrong.” Jim wondered when Joyce had turned on him too. He considered nailing the windows shut, but he was pretty sure El would kill him with her mind if he tried it, so he didn’t. 

See, it turned out that “my house, my rules” only went so far with a kid who was technically an adult, and who had also sacrificed himself to save your other kid, so Billy got away with a lot. He got away with even more because both El and Will—and Max, who spent far more than half of her time at their house—were fully supportive of Billy and Steve’s ongoing shenanigans, and did their best to run interference with Hopper. 

Apparently, one of the things Hopper had missed during Billy’s long recovery was the day some under-informed nurse let Billy’s dad in to see him. Everyone agreed that it had been a very dramatic scene, but they weren’t very forthcoming about the details. Only Max and Lucas and Robin had been there to witness it firsthand, but the kids all still talked about it in hushed whispers. The only way they ever described it to Hopper was to say that Steve had gone “just completely feral, Hop.” Neil had never bothered to come back, so whatever it was that Steve had done that the kids didn’t want Hopper to know about had been pretty effective. Max’s grudging affection for Steve had given way to complete adoration on that day, and El’s affection for Billy was well-established, so she had been right there with Max. Hopper hadn’t asked why Will was so supportive of the two of them, but he could guess.

So Billy lived with Joyce and Hopper and Will and El, and Hopper did his very best to maintain at least some semblance of propriety, and every kid in the house did their very best to defy him at every turn. It was exhausting. Which was why he was so goddamn irritated when he heard the low sound of voices in the middle of a walk through the woods behind the house that was supposed to be an opportunity for him to get some damn solitude for once. They were voices he recognized, unfortunately. He sighed heavily as soon as he got close enough to make out what they were saying. 

“Harder, baby,” Billy practically moaned. “God that feels good.” 

“Are you sure?” Steve asked a little breathlessly. “I don’t want to hurt you.”

“Yeah—ohhhhhh…” Billy’s confirmation devolved into an actual moan, and Hopper had had enough. He marched toward the voices, bursting into a clearing with his brow furrowed and an admonition on the tip of his tongue. 

The first thing he noticed was that they had chosen a beautiful spot—they were on a soft-looking picnic blanket in the middle of a pretty little meadow dotted with wildflowers. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the surrounding trees. The remains of a picnic were spread out in front of the two boys, next to an open picnic basket. 

The second thing Hopper noticed was that he had maybe slightly misread the situation. Billy was sitting cross-legged on the blanket, tank top and cutoffs firmly in place, and Steve was kneeling behind him, also fully clothed. Billy’s head was tilted to one side, and Steve had his elbow pressed firmly into the muscle of Billy’s shoulder. Both boys were staring at him with wide eyes. They recovered at about the same time, and Hopper sighed inwardly as Steve cocked one eyebrow. Billy’s eyes sparkled with amusement as Steve spoke. 

“You’re always so tight, B,” Steve said, completely deadpan, eyes locked on Hopper’s. Billy smirked and gave that same low moan again as Steve pushed down with his elbow. 

“You get so deep, baby. Feels so good,” Billy said, and Hopper had seen some shit in his life. Had fought literal monsters. Had spent months in a Russian prison, most recently. He absolutely was not going to blush in front of these two dumbasses. He refused.

Instead, he sighed heavily, resisted the urge to murder them both, and turned around, making his way out of the clearing. Billy waited until he was almost, but not quite, out of earshot before he spoke again, and Hopper was pretty sure he did it on purpose. 

“We’re actually fucking after this, though, right baby?” he asked, and Hopper, unfortunately, also heard Steve’s response. 

“Course, B. That’s why there’s lube in the bottom of the picnic basket.”

“You think of everything, pretty boy. Best boyfriend ever.” Hopper was tempted to turn right back around to yell at them, except that Billy sounded genuinely happy. And that, Hopper would never admit to anyone but Joyce, was a thing that he thought Billy Hargrove deserved a lot more of. He did, however, pick up his pace, before he heard something—again—that would haunt him forever.

ok so i do this thing where i write fic ideas in my notebook. after this one i wrote "holy fucking shit it costs ZERO DOLLARS TO NOT WRITING AGONIZING FANFICTION WHILE LISTENING TO SAD MUSIC" so prepare yourself.

basically it's the end of season 3... if the mindflayer had won.

under the cut cuz it got LONG

so basically the mind flayer kills el. hop's group cant close the gate in time. max n mike (who are paired off in this so i shortened it to mnm and that's so cute so kudos to me and also thats what im gonna do for this) and the gang upstairs have to like. watch el die. they ran out of fireworks and also mike tries to run to help el but max isnt stupid so she holds him back bc she 'cant lose two friends tonight'. steve and jonathan and robin manage to herd the kids out of the mall- except for mnm who are still downstairs, which is the reason nancy almost refuses to leave (it's always bothered me how she just ditches her brother when they first drive away but WHATEVER i just believe in wheeler sibling supremacy)- and they run to the car and drive away again. nancy's like yelling at jonathan for leaving mnm and they argue for a bit before nancy's like "what about your mom??" and jonathan's like "the mind flayer's still alive so obviously they didn't close the gate! which mean's she's probably-" and his voice just breaks cuz he thinks joyce is dead. and he admits that he doesn't even know what to do. lucas says heyyy let's go uh get my sister and dustin. so they go do that. meanwhile mnm are like holy shit el. and theyre kinda just standing there, not really sure what to do. billy sees them and so basically they just run away from him. and this whole thing turns into a post-apocalyptic thing as the mind flayer and the demogorgons and dogs try to take over the world ya knowwww. so mnm are like living in the woods n shit like those zombie movies and taking stuff from abandoned convenience stores n shit. everyone who was in the car and dustin and erica all get picked up by the government and taken to some safe area that's been set up and there are all these tests to see if someone is flayed and it's kinda oh no it's kinda like the maze runner you know what i mean in the sequels with that city? yeah. and hop, joyce, and murray escape into the upside down- which they can do bc portals are somehow opening up in a bunch of different places so the mind flayer doesnt catch them. they come out through another portal in hawkins and fight through this CRAZY battlefield that is now hawkins, with people dying left and right and explosions and soldiers and what-not... they make it to el's body and hopper LOSES IT. i feel like thered be a time skip here that picks up with them as those classic apocalypse survivors like mnm are, but they make it to the govt safe place when the story picks up again and joyce is reunited with will and jonathan. and that place is up north, but mnm headed to california for max's dad or smth idk the point is they're going in the wrong direction. ANYWAY this is super long and disorganized but YEAH

MY HUGE THEORY ON EL’S PLOTLINE IN S4

before you guys even start, YES I know that 99.9% of what I say is going to be wrong but this is literally just for fun.

its march 1986, middle of the school year and el HATES school

when we left her she was barely literate and had just started getting accostomed to speaking full sentences, NOWHERE NEAR a 9th grade level, so shes struggling in her classes to say the least

on top of that, she barely knows how to socialize with other people, so shes evidently getting picked on

with joyce and jonathan both working to keep the family afloat, will and el get left alone alot

but outside of the party, they socially have nothing in common

in fact, will is adapting to the new town a whole lot better than el. he fit right in with all the creative kids he met in class, but el didnt mesh with that crowd

anyway, our girl is sturggling

the only time she really has fun is when she visits hawkins, or when someone from the party visits them

which leads us to spring break

mike obviously comes to visit, and el doesnt want them to waste a single second so she begs mike and will to come explore the town with her

at this point joyce is already in her detective mode, hatching a rescue plan for hopper so she doesnt notice theyre gone

and jonathan is battling the heartbreak of nancy ghosting him when she was supposed to come visit

so the trio goes off on an adventure without anyone noticing.......... or so they think

because brenner is back, and he knows el is with the byers, but he cant go and snatch her because he doesnt have the resources all the way in california

in fact, he doesnt have the resources at all. his numbers experiment is seen as a catastrophic failure that lead to the deaths of hundreds of lab employees

the only way for him to redeem himself in the community, and gain his funding back is to present his peers with proof that the project can work, so he needs to get one of his numbers back

el is the only one he can track down, but he doesnt think he can do it himself. if she saw him, she could just kill him with her powers, he assumes because he doesnt know she lost them

so who does he employ to get el back to hawkins? lonnie byers

its almost too easy. it doesnt take much to bribe lonnie, and hey, its not like its his kid. so lonnie accepts the bribe, and goes all the way out to california to find el

he shows up at the byers house..... only to find it completely deserted. so he waits

and the trio finds him there after their day out (why are you here? what do you want? where are mom and jonathan?)

and lonnie, being as crafty as he is, comes up with a good excuse on the fly (hes craftier than i am because i genuinely have no idea what he would say)

anyway, he gets them in his car and on their way back to hawkins

jonathan shows up after theyve already left, and is too stoned tired to think anything of the empty house

and joyce is already halfway to russia

will knows his father. he knows that his father doesnt give a shit about him, the family, or anything about hawkins. he knows that his father wouldnt get involved in anything unless he had something to gain. so hes wraking his brain

maybe.... lonnie pulls over to take a suspicious phone call? maybe will figures out an inconsistency in his story? either way, the gang is onto lonnie and figures that they gotta get away from him and get back to joyce and jonathan

they tuck and roll out of the car. idk. all that matters is that they get out of there

as theyre rolling out of the car, el bonks her head a little and has a quick flashback to her time in the lab

since her intuition is always spot on, she takes this as a cue the breener is back and lonnie is working for him

she tells the boys it isnt safe to go back to california or hawkins, so they come up w an alternative plan, somewhere neither brenner nor lonnie would think to look for them

and while theyre on the road, they stop at a diner to eat (dont ask me where they got the money) and we get will leaving an emotional voicemail home, probably sobbing to jonathan about how much he means to will, which gives el an idea

because who has the resources to help her, as well as a desire for vengeance on brenner? kali

el uses her superb hitchiking skills to get them to chicago

maybe she just has some hints of her powers left, but it isnt too hard for el to find kali

she explains everything thats happened, and lets kali know that if she want revenge, the opportunity is hers

unfortunately, lonnie was hot on their trail, and called for reinforcements

theyre ambushed by the few employees brenner has working for him. initially, everyone is hiding, assisted by kali’s powers

but el knows they arent leaving empty handed, and would rather get taken away then have kali’s freedom taken from her

so el reveals herself, followed by mike because he wont leave her, followed by will because he wont leave mike

all three get taken away, back to hawkins lab, but now kali is even more motivated to bring down the lab once and for all

so kali and her gang get to hawkins, almost simultaniously with jonathan, who has been looking for his family in a frenzy since the morning he woke up to find eveyone gone, without even a note or a phone call, as well as argyle, who came along for the ride

the video store is being used as home base this season, so thats the first place they go, where they find steve, shortstaffed and not knowing whats going on because the whole team ditched him

they catch him up to speed on how EVERYONES GONE and steve catches them up to speed on how EVERYONE IS GETTING MURDERED

meanwhile, brenner has three predicaments

1) no matter what he does to el, what kind of torture he inflicts, she isnt using her powers because she doesnt have them. she tells him this several times. he refuses to believe it

2) lonnie byers is demanding his payment, which he didnt recieve because the deal was that he bring el to them, and he couldnt even do that

3) he has to find a way to dispose of mike and will, who he had no intention of bringing into the lab but theyre here and they know everything

and this is the moment where mike screws up by letting them know that people know theyre in the lab and people know about all the experiments and any second now, someones gonna come banging that door down to save us. nancy, jonathan, steve, robin max, lucas, dustin, kali-

and the second mike says her name he knows he screwed up

brenner decides in that moment that all he can do is round up everyone involved and get rid of them. conveniently, the string of murders occurring will serve as a good cover for what happened to them

and this is the part where joyce, murray, and hopper get back to hawkins

this is also the part where nancy and robin and the gang get back to hawkins

so nancy and robin immediately go to the video store armed with all the new information they learned from victor creel

..... and are met with jonathan, argyle, kali, and steve in pandemonium

they close the store for the day, and get ready to storm the lab

they realize that they need something from the school, so they head there to pick it up

and soon after arriving, theyre met with the all to familiar hawkins lab vans

they make a hasty escape, taking out some of the goons but they need to find a way to get the rest off their trail

they head for the woods, hoping to hide out in the cabin

meanwhile, the russia crew has taken the mostly demolished cabin as their haven to recover from whatever injuries they sustained

theyre all running through the woods, but they realize the people from the lab are closing in on them

and then nancy and jonathan pass a very familiar tree

they use whatever weapon they have on them to break through the bark, and head into the upside down

the lab people keep going into the woods, eventually finding hopper’s cabin

epic showdown between the russia crew and the lab people, joyce, murray and hopper win, they realize the lab is back, immediately head there realizing theyre gonna have to rescue someone

nancy and robin use the info they learned from victor creel to keep the gang alive in the upside down, max, argyle and eddie are freaking out because omg we’re in another dimention, we get some big reveal about the truth about the upside down and the gang makes their way out and head to the lab

and while this is all happening,we get some super emotional monologue between brenner and el (ala-the last 10 minutes of the truman show) and brenner realizes that el isnt going to be the naieve superweapn she used to be, and decides the best thing he can do with el is give her the standard punishment, time in the closet

and being in the closet triggers all sorts of flashbacks and emotions (mbb’s opportunity to show off her acting chops for an emmy)

joyce and hopper bust into the lab like they did in season 1, but this time they dont get caught

they decide to split up to cover more ground, and hopper finds el in the closet

and around the same time joyce finds mike and will and gets them out of there

here comes the REAL emotional performance

hopper sees her, we get a teary eyed “el!” “dad!”, and then hopper gets pulled away from el by lab workers

exactly the same way terry did

we’re watching this happen from el’s perspective, with a heart-wrenching “noooooooooo” from el, accompanied by cuts to every time el has had to be separated from someone she cares about (terry, the s1 ending, billy dying, her leaving kali in s2, saying goodbye to everyone on moving day, her being separated from mike and will when they got to the lab) accompanied by some terribly sad 80s song, then back to the present moment, she reaches her hand out and boom, the guards go flying. her powers are back

except she doesnt have control of them the way she did before, and now shes bringing the whole building down

her and hopper race to the the first floor, and meet joyce and the boys, they get out of the building at the very last second, and the whole thing collapses.

eventually they find the other group, the whole team is now together, they go and take down the big bad from the upside down, joyce almost KILLS lonnie

nancy and robin drop a huge bombshell that has to do with hawkins/the upside down, specifically pertaining to el, which they pieced together after talking to victor creel

we get a massive cliffhanger, season 5 starts like 10 minutes after the ending of season 4

But like the baby isn’t Steve’s but it belongs to the dad who is out of the picture and Steve stepped up as the father roll and everyone loves and wants to protect her but they don’t know how to protect her when her water breaks and right on cue the Demagorgan enters . (Note that’s she’s closer to the party, Jonathan and Steve) . I understand if find this weird to write but I would be so thankful if u could . 😁💓”

Okay, so not everything in your life goes as planned. Ever. First it was Robby, then it was your parents, now it’s inter-dimensional monsters. When would you catch a break?

About nine months ago, that stupid son-of-a-bitch Robby knocked you up and left at the first sign of trouble. He was already graduated and left town as soon as you gave him the news! What a catch! You spent your senior year humilated at the fact that you trusted him. And that’s not even the worst part.

After you told your parents, they kicked you to the curb. Just. Like. That. You would’ve been dead on the streets if it weren’t for Steve. He’d been there for you since sixth grade. Even in his “King Steve” phase, he still found time for you. He was never your boyfriend, just one of your most trusted friends. The second he heard what happened, he made sure to accommodate you in every possible way. He even convinced his parents to let you live with them.

“Please, Dad. We have the room! She can take one of the guest rooms. She’s got nowhere else to go!” Steve pleaded with his dad. Steve agreed to take you to all your appointments, sit with you through all of your pregnancy side effects, and the whole nine yards. During the first trimester, you even got to beat up some demodogs.

You were worried when he didn’t come home that night. So you called up everyone that you could. Jonathan, Nancy, and the kids. You weren’t that surprised to find out that there were more monsters roaming Hawkins. Well, some of them happened to be commies, but tomato, toe-mah-toe.

You took your car to the mall, but it looked normal. Just another day, you know? Until you walked up to Scoops and it was closed. You knew Steve and Robin were working today. You had a spare key to Scoops (that no one else was supposed to know about but Steve wanted you to have one because he knew he’d lose his sooner or later). You pulled up on the gate and waddled in, then pulled it back down and went into the back. The breakroom was cluttered with a bunch of translator crap. Why were they learning Russian?

You peeked through the door of the shipping hallway and it was absolutely bare. So where was Steve? The hallway echoed with your steps as you tried to investigate further, but you quickly regretted it once another shipping guy came through. Retreat you yelled in your head as you tried to make a run for it. You narrowly escaped, and decided it was best to go home.

You gave Jonathan another call, but no one was home. Then you called the Wheelers, who said Nancy was out and Mike was with his friends. So, you took a shot in the dark and headed to Hopper’s cabin. And there they all were, plotting. They caught you up, you told them what you knew, and they told you to sit this one out! Unbelievable. But not really.

“Nope. No way. Not until Steve is safe at home.” You protested. All the kids stared at you, wondering if you had lost your mind. Nancy and Jonathan exchanged looks.

“Y/N, you can count on us. We’ll get him home safely.” Nancy tried to reason.

“I’m. Coming. With. You.” You demanded, then sat on the couch. “So what’s the plan?”

“No offense, y/n,” Mike scratched his head, “but we don’t want you to do this because...you’re...” He paused.

“Because you’re pregnant! Jeez, Mike, spit it out.” Max cut it. “If we include you in this, Steve will kill us. For sure.” She crossed her arms and shrugged.

“I get what you’re saying,” you leaned forward, “but I don’t think you understand. I’m gonna go with you guys to take care of all the bullshit because Steve has helped me a lot and it’s my turn to return the favor.”

“You can barely walk.” Lucas commented.

“Thanks for the heads up!” You answered sarcastically, then made an attempt to get off the couch. “Can some help me up?”

You sat against the wall of The Gap in the empty mall.

“Uh-oh.” You whispered.

“What?” Dustin asked. On cue, everyone looked to you, who was wincing in pain. Your pants were wet and you started breathing heavier.

“Please tell me that’s pee.” Mike gulped.

“Oh, you don’t know how much I wish I pissed myself.” You clenched your jaw with your contractions. “Maybe you guys were right.”

“You think?!” Nancy said a bit too loud. Steve sat next to you, grabbed your hand and squeezed it.

“Hey, breathe, okay? We’ll get you out of here.” Steve coached you like he read in the books. Your screams and El’s screams were deafening. Finally, some adults appeared. Joyce ran up to you and kneeled down.

“Hey, hey, listen to me, y/n. In and out, in and out. Got it?” She asked and you grunted. “It’ll all be over soon.”

“I gotta get her to a hospital, Ms. Byers.” Steve told her.

“Yeah, I know, uh.” She turned to Hopper. “What are we gonna do?” Hop was on the ground holding El.

“You got a car, Steve?” He asked.

“The Russians took my keys.” He shook his head.

“Damn Russians!” Murray yelled. Everyone was panicking, you were screaming, Joyce and Steve were at your side. The plan was being made.

“Steve,” Hopper threw his keys, “take her, Dustin, Lucas’s sister, and the coworker girl wherever Dustin says his radio is. After that, get y/n to a hospital. Understand?”

“Think you can hold on a little while longer?” Steve turned to you and you nodded.

“Try talking through contractions, honey. It helps.” Joyce helped get you standing up.

“Thank you, Ms. Byers.”

Part 8/9

Summary: Sometimes things just don’t go as planned and your world just come crashing down, but it’s a good thing that you have people in your life to be there to catch you when you fall.

You watched your sister walked into your room so she could try and track down your ex boyfriend, Ms. Drisccol, the Holloway’s and Bruce. The seven of you sat quietly and patiently, waiting for any sort of news.

Nancy was on the phone calling around asking for updates and trying to get a lead, Jonathan was drinking coffee and marking off phone numbers. You carried on a conversation with Will about his new campaign for D&D.

After a while Mike began to get angsty because she ‘shouldn't be in there for that long and that it’s not good for her’. Mike and Max’s conversation slowly turned into an unnecessary argument.

“Can you guys settle an argument for us?” Max asks walking up to you, “Who do you think should decide El’s limits? Mike, or Eleven?” As the two kept arguing you decided to put your two words in and are easily ignored.

While listening to the arguing teens, you hop up from your seat and walk over to the fridge to pull out something easy to snack on like a string cheese stick and some strawberries. But as you go to shut the door Mike says something crazy,

“...so can we please just come up with a new plan because I love her and I can’t lose her again.”

You shut the door and  turn your head towards him with wide eyes, “Say what now?”

And almost as if on cue El comes walking out the door saying that she found Billy. With Nancy finally off of the phone you take the opportunity to try to call Steve. You called his house and then called ‘Scoops!’, and got no answer.

In the back of your mind you couldn’t help but hope that he was ignoring you and not somehow mixed up in all of this mess, but little did you know that he was being beat senseless in a secret Russian base underground.

After letting Eleven cool down from her last session it was time to get back into it. You turned on the television to an empty channel then took your place on the couch next in between Max and Will and watched her put her blindfold on as she went into the void.

This was honestly the last thing you wanted to be doing on the 4th of July, you thought you’d be at the police station begging your dad for some money to go get some cheap fireworks to shoot off into the night for the kids. Maybe even snooping around in your dad's liquor cabinet, to get some goods for you older kids. Yet here you were sitting in silence.

That silence was soon interrupted by Eleven breathing heavily and is obviously in some sort of distress.

“El, are you okay? Are you okay?” Mike finally asks

You don't realize that you're holding your breath until you hear her respond.

“I’m okay” you hear her say weakly

“What’s going on?” you ask

“On a beach.” you all listen as Eleven continues describing a memory of Billy and his mom on a beach in California. 

You watch closely as her calm breaths begin to pick up slightly,

“I think I found it, the source.”

“Where El, where are you?” Max pipes up and asks

“Brimborn Steelworks.” 

Jonathan runs over to the phone book and looks up the address, it's close by. You told El that she needed to come out of the void so you guys can go. But that’s not what was about to go down.

El put her hands up to her face as if she was going to take the blindfold off of her face, but as soon as she put them up she put them back down. Something was wrong.

“Mike? Y/N?”

Her breath started to pick up once again and that made you start to freak out. You walked back over behind her on the couch and grabbed her shoulders to let her know that you were there but it didn't seem to make a difference.

“No!” she shouted, “Get away!”

She then ripped her blindfold off of her face and screamed making everyone jump. You moved your hands away from her shoulders as she cried and turned to Mike as he reassured her that everything was okay and that she was okay, at least in that moment.

As you guys regrouped, you got El some water and pulled a granola bar out of the cabinet, to make sure she ate something to regain some energy, then sat down on the couch next to her. You listened to Mike and Lucas talk about the Mind Flayer and listen to what El has to say about what happened to her, but it’s hard for you to focus. There are so many things in your head that need to be processed, but the main thing you think about is Steve and his safety. The two of you had been through so much and you don’t know what you would do if something happened to him.  One thing El says finally catches your attention,

“He also said, he was gonna kill all of you.” 

“What? Who?” you ask with your thoughts still stuck on Steve.

“Billy?” Max says but in a ‘are you seriously not paying attention right now’ tone

“Oh. Yeah, well, that’s nice.”

You hear a screeching sound off in the distance, and you see that Nancy hears it too because she gets up and walks towards the window. You hear it again before Nancy asks if anyone else hears it. 

“It’s just the fireworks” Jonathan says after a few moments of silence

“Billy,” Nancy says, turning around “When he told you this, it was here, in this room?”

Everyone turns to look at El for an answer hoping that she would say no, but that wasn’t the case.

“He knows we’re here.” Will says.

Jonathan leads you all out of the house and you get a glimpse of something far scarier than a Demogorgan. The next thing you know you’re suddenly preparing for a war that you weren’t expecting to fight in this very moment. You lead Nancy out to your dad’s gun shed behind the cabin to get the essentials. The two of you walk back in the house to see almost all of the windows boarded up or blocked off and all except one door blocked. 

Nancy picks up one of the guns you got from the shed and points it at the front door as you all gather in the center of the living room, looking around at every sort of entrance. The next minutes went by in a flash. The Mind Flayer attacked, Nancy shot at it a bunch, until she ran out of ammo and El fought it almost single-handedly. Suddenly the thing grabbed hold of Eleven’s ankle and almost took her away, as it intended to. Luckily Lucas grabbed the ax and took its tentacle, arm thing off and it dropped El.

You saw that the part of the Mind Flayer was still attached to her leg so you took it upon yourself to rip it off causing El to scream out in pain. She took it like a champ and stood up to finish off the creature by splitting it in half. Upon doing so she fell back into Max’s arms, but while you had the chance you wrapped your arm around your sister and helped her run out to the car.

While you guys were in the convenience store you got in touch with Dustin on the walkie-talkie and there was a code red situation, most likely meaning that him and Steve had somehow gotten into this mess. Once you guys had gotten Eleven all cleaned up you piled back into the car and headed to the mall where Dustin said that they were from what you could understand.

You entered in through the upper level entrance with the help of Lucas’ slingshot, sending a rock to break through one of the doors. You quietly moved around the upper level with no sight of anyone, you then heard someone speaking Russian from the lower level. Walking away from the main group you walk towards the rail that would overlook onto the bottom floor to see where the talking was coming from. You see a bunch of guys walking around and it seemed like they were looking really hard for something. Will notices that you aren’t with the group anymore and they suddenly join you next to the railing. 

All of the guards are now focused on one specific area and you can’t help but get this really bad gut feeling. El notices the worry on your face and grabs hold of your hand. You look at her and a look of relief washes over your face. 

“I think they might be over there” you whisper to El while pointing at one of The Great Cookie

Eleven nods in acknowledgement, then takes a step forward. She sticks out her arm and focuses on the car next to the guards. The car alarm goes off and that causes all of the guards to turn their attention away from whoever was behind the counter and to the car. They look up to see what’s causing the car to move, but before anyone could do anything El sends the car flying towards them killing them all instantly. 

You see not one, but four heads pop up from behind the counter. You’re relieved when you see that one of those four people is Steve. 

“Thank fucking God.” you say to yourself but it doesn't go unnoticed. Max nudges you with her elbow cocking an eyebrow at you with her signature smirk. You just roll your eyes and look back down over the ledge. 

You see everyone start to head for the non-moving escalators so you follow in pursuit. Once you make it to the bottom of the ‘stairs’ you run directly to Steve and cling onto him like it’s the last time you’d ever see him. He hugs you back with just as much force before you pull away,

“Steve, what happened to your eye?” you ask holding onto his face checking out his face for other injuries.

“You know, evil Russians and what not.” 

“The Russians?! Like secret code Russians? Shit”

“Secret code?” you hear Max ask

The next couple of minutes consist of everyone catching up on what's been going on. Learning that Steve, Robin, Erica and Dustin had been stuck down in a Russian underground base for the last 2 days all while you dealt with Billy and the flayed. No wonder he hadn’t been answering the phone. 

You all converse back and forth until El collapses to the ground, when asked what was wrong she says that it’s her leg that hurts. Jonathan pulls off the bandages from earlier and reveals her bloody shin, along with something moving inside it. You almost vomit at the sight and have to turn away, Steve reaches out and puts a hand on your shoulder and rubs slightly.

As they were trying to get whatever was in her leg out, El was screaming out in excruciating pain, you couldn’t bear to see her in so much pain.Tears started forming in your eyes, when Steve noticed he held out his arm to you and you bury your face into his chest so you don't have to watch. 

Jonathan did as much as he could until it was unbearable for her and she said that she could do it herself. As she was screaming, you turned around to face Eleven after the glass wall from the store behind you shattered all over the floor. You watch as she removes the piece of the Mind Flayer from her leg and sends it flying across the floor. As it tries crawling away a foot comes down and squishes it. You all look up to see who the foot belongs too, and an exhausted smile creeps onto your face, it's none other than your dad, Jim Hopper.

Trained Weapon Chapter 8   (Steve Harrington Series)

Description: You were made to be a weapon, forced to kill on command. You were number thirteen, the lab had taken you at the age of eight from your mother and father locking you a way for training, if you didn’t do what you were told you were locked away. This time you were going to be killed you knew it, if you told them no they would kill you so the only thing you could do was run. And turns out you run exactly to the boy in a sailor outfit. (This will follow closely with season 3 of stranger things)

 It seemed so hectic after all the events had just happened, you were escorted out by people of the mall all of them having to take a double take at the scene that was in front of them. You still felt shaken and Max was still crying when you last saw her the guilt ate away at you, you didn’t know how far the healing abilities could stretch but now it seemed it was only to an extent. Your arm hadn’t healed and one of the paramedics said that it was defiantly broken, last time your body had healed on its own but now you felt pain and it didn’t seem to go away. Your throat was hoarse from where Billy had held you by your throat and so you tried your best not to talk, there was an endless stream of reporters sneaking in trying to understand what was happening and the events that went down inside the mall. 

 You were sat in the back of an ambulance and had someone wrapping your arm up, you wince in pain at how tightly it was being wrapped but you knew it was to keep your arm stable. You glance around, you still hadn’t been able to find Steve and you were worried sick that something had happened to him, after the wrap your arm you get up walking around trying to see if you could find him anywhere. 

 You notice the woman Joyce who was with Hopper El’s dad and she was alone, you watch as she embraced her son hugging him in the midst of all the chaos and you smile to yourself happy that out of all of this there was a happy ending at least for someone. You continue walking around looking in each paramedic car trying to find a glimpse of the brown haired boy with no luck. You sigh turning back around trying to find someone to help you. When you turn around you see a glimpse of Dustin’s hat and immediately that gives you a jolt of energy and you run over to him. 

‘‘Dustin!’‘ You call out to him and he turns around looking at you wide eyed. You walk over and hug him and he hugs you back in return, ‘‘I’m so glad you’re okay!’‘ You tell him your voice cracking when you talk. 

You see Dustin glance down at your neck, he could see the finger prints that had made a bruise around it. You reach your hand up covering it from his view and give him a small smile, ‘’Steve? Where’s Steve?’’ You ask him, you were more than nervous knowing he wouldn’t just leave Dustin by himself. 

 ‘’He’s okay,’’ He answers and you let out a sigh of relief. ‘’He’s over there,’’ He says pointing behind the paramedic car, he was hidden away in the second wave of responders and you can see a paramedic was tending to his eye. You smile at Dustin walking away toward Steve and about halfway there his eyes meet yours, he gently moves away from the paramedic standing up and says something to her before turning back to you. 

 You walk as fast as you could over to him and he picks up his speed as well, as soon as your within reach you wrap your good arm around him and he embraces you in a hug your head buried in his chest. After a few seconds you both pull away and you can see his eyes scan your face a sympathetic look on it as he takes his hand pushing a piece of hair behind your ear. ‘’You’re okay?’’ He asks as if you standing right in front of him wasn’t proof enough. 

‘‘I’m okay,’‘ You say, he looks down at your throat and lifts his hand up gently putting his hand against it, you see a confused look on his face. ‘‘It’s okay,’‘ You tell him reaching your hand up and taking his in yours letting it fall down to your side. You held his hand in yours, ‘‘What about you?’‘ You pause. ‘‘Are you okay?’‘ You ask him noticing how bad his face looked under bright lights. 

 He nods his head letting you know he was alright, ‘’I was so scared when we got back I didn’t see you and then they said someone died-’’ He pauses. You look down at the ground feeling ashamed that not only there was a casualty but that you could’ve prevented it at least that was what you thought. 

 ‘’Billy,’’ You say almost breathless. ‘’It was Billy.’’ You say and you can see the shock register over his face. ‘’I tried-’’ You say feeling the tears begin to form in your eyes, ‘’I tried to...help him.’’ You say. Steve looks at you sympathetically, ‘’It didn’t work, I don’t know how it didn’t work I mean-’’ You begin to panic, was something wrong with you?

‘‘Hey, hey, hey,’‘ He says pulling you back into a hug. ‘‘There is nothing wrong with you, nothing.’‘ He says his hands running over your hair. You wrap your good arm around his waist and let yourself fall into him feeling nothing but safe and sure when you were with him.

THREE MONTHS LATER:

 ‘’The mirror of your dreams, rhymes that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds!’’ You hear Max and Dustin taunting Dustin. ‘’Wait is that verse right? It’s unfold behind the clouds?’’ Max asks. 

‘‘Yeah,’‘ Dustin says his voice unamused. ‘‘But your butchering it so could you please stop?’‘ He says sounding annoyed. You walk past them laughing as you carried another box out of the house and loaded it into the truck. You smile at Joyce as she gave you a sad look knowing that you were waiting for a specific someone but he was nowhere to be found. 

 Joyce took you in after the events of Star court she thought it would be best for you, she was most familiar with El out of all the parents and so she easily agreed to take you in with them. You wanted to stay with Dustin but everyone agreed nobody was going to let a random teenager come stay in their house. You sigh walking back inside, you didn’t have much stuff but you had helped El pack up her room. When you walked back inside you glance over seeing Nancy and Jonathan standing in his room having a moment so you walk past quickly. El was standing in the room in front of her closet staring at a teddy bear and you sigh knowing what she was doing. ‘’El,’’ You call out to her breaking her out of her daze. 

 She turns around looking at you wide eyed and you walk over reaching up grabbing the bear and handing it to her and she sighs, ‘’It’ll come back,’’ You assure her putting your hand on her shoulder. Her powers still hadn’t made an appearance and it was three months later, that wasn’t the case for you. You arm began to heal again about a weak after the events and you had discovered that you could only heal so much before it started to lessen the abilities when you needed to put them to use. So when you healed yourself it took so much out of you which is why when you helped El’s leg it didn’t heal up all the way. Then when you tried to help Billy it did nothing because you had used almost all of it up from yourself and El. 

 Steve helped you figure that out along with Dustin. You were sad to leave Dustin as well as Steve because over the past three months things were great. Steve had taught you how to drive even though he was terrified letting you do it in his car. Then Dustin and the rest of the party had taught you how to play D&D, which now would come in handy for you and Will at least. 

‘‘Hey,’‘ You hear Mike’s voice and you and El both turn to the door seeing him walk in his face looked sad. You smile at him before grabbing the last box at El’s feet giving them their last minute alone for a while. You walked outside once again but this time you saw the familiar mop of hair getting out of the car and you smile to yourself. 

 Steve begged you not to go, he wanted more time like he talked about but the best thing for you was to get away from the small town of Hawkins with everything that had happened. You felt anxious all the time with the news coverage that had been broadcasted, then El seemingly became more attached to you after the loss of her dad, and not only that but El seemingly was the only one who could show you how to control your powers and she offered to help you get it down to a science. You remember telling Steve you were going with them and he cried, nothing had happened with you two in the past three months besides just hanging out everyday and just falling for him more and more. 

 ‘’Is that THE Steve Harrington?’’ You call out whistling at him, you watch his head shoot up and he notices you a smile breaking out across his face and you laugh. He reaches back in his car and then shuts the door and when he does you notice the flowers in his hand and you can already feel your cheeks heating up. 

‘‘In the flesh,’‘ He says walking up to you. He stops a few inches away from you just standing with the flowers in his hand looking at you in an admiring way. 

‘‘You got the job?’‘ You ask him and he smiles. 

‘‘I got the job!’‘ He says in a weird Italian voice that made you laugh. 

 You smile at him excited, he didn’t go in very confident but you knew Robin would help him out. You decide to move yourself forward those few inches and wrap your arms around his neck hugging him. At that point you didn’t really know if you were hugging him because you were happy he got the job, or sad that these would be your last few minutes together for however long. ‘’I’m gonna miss you,’’ You admit mumbling into his jacket. 

 You can feel him sigh and he wraps his arms around you a bit tighter, ‘’Me too.’’ He says. 

 ‘’I don’t know when we’ll be back,’’ You tell him truthfully. ‘’But I’ll call you everyday and if not then Dustin got these new radios for him Will and El, Mike, and Lucas so they could all talk. And you can steal Dustin’s and I’ll steal Wills and we can talk-’’ You begin to say looking around. 

 Steve laughs and you smile in relief, ‘’Trust me I’m sure now they’ll be at the arcade trying to get free games all day, just like they did with the ice cream.’’ He says laughing. You hear a loud sound behind you and you turn around seeing Jonathan shut the back of the truck with all the stuff in it and you sigh turning around looking back up to Steve. 

‘‘I guess we’re about to leave,’‘ You tell him. 

‘‘Yeah,’‘ He says sounding a little off. 

 You wanted to tell him you loved him, you did. After these three months of spending the days with him and getting to know him when you weren’t trapped in a secret Russian facility you were sure you loved him. You understood what he meant when he said you couldn’t love someone after a few days, it had now been three months and you knew for sure that you loved him for real this time. But it wasn’t the time to say it, you were leaving and it would hurt more to finally tell him and then leave him. ‘’Promise you aren’t gonna invade any secret Russian Bases without me?’’ You say trying to lighten the mood. 

 He laughs, ‘’I promise,’’ He says. You just stare at each other for a few seconds until Dustin comes to interrupt you. 

 You look away from Steve and felt his gaze on you still as you looked over to Dustin, ‘’Don’t worry I think I’ll miss you most,’’ You say giving him a wink. He doesn’t say anything he just wraps you in a hug and you lean down giving him a better one. When you pull away you wipe the tears from your eyes and laugh as you do so, it was such a bittersweet moment. To be leaving something you loved but also going to somewhere you knew would keep you out of danger and that would give you some chance of figuring out how to control yourself. 

 ‘’Here,’’ Dustin says pulling out a radio from behind his back. ‘’I got one for you too, and Steve,’’ He says looking behind him. ‘’So we could all talk,’’ He says. 

 It seemed weird you didn’t know these people long at all but you knew they all just had good hearts, they welcomed you in the warmest way that made you feel like you had a home. ‘’Thank you,’’ You say taking it out of his hand. 

 You look behind Dustin seeing El had finally walked out of the house in tears and you smile sadly, It was time to go. Everyone walks over to the truck and you hug everyone goodbye and then you get to Steve the last person and you slam your body to his hugging him tightly as he wraps his hands around you. You felt a few tears fall from your face as you cried and then you sniffle pulling away from him and wiping your eyes, you look up at him and he looked like he had tears in his eyes as well. You give him a knowing smile as you turned around walking to the car. You get in fast now only waiting on El as Joyce got in the car next to you. 

 You took a deep breath and it comes out shaken as you try and hold it all in, you feel a hand on your arm and Joyce rubs in comfortingly, ‘’I’m glad you’re coming with us.’’ She says and you smile at her. El finally makes her way in the car and everyone just sits in silent, Will wanted to drive with Jonathan so you stayed with El and Joyce. She puts the truck in gear and slowly puts her foot on the gas and you see the trees around you start to move back as you drove forward. El’s head leaned against the window as she cried silently, you look out the rearview mirror and see the silhouettes of everyone get smaller and smaller as you drove away. 

 It hurt like hell.

OMG, this was short but I kind of did this by the end of the episode. ANYWAY! how did you guys feel about the ending! I want to do a sequel and steer away from the story line so I can have more of my own scenes so what do you all think? Should I continue as ‘’Trained Weapon’’ or make an entirely new series? I think I can add a few more chapters to the series so I want your feedback! 

If you guys do want a sequel it would follow mostly the reader and Steve and the journey to find her parents.

Dumb Luck  Billy Hargrove x Reader

Hey everyone! This request i for the lovely @hanane-billy12! I hope i did their request justice. I may have tweaked it a little bit to make sense.

request: Reader is Elevens older sister and falls for Billy and saves him in the process

You were a couple years older than el. You honestly weren't sure if you were blood related. But after the events of halloween, Hopper had adopted the both of you.

You had adjusted a little faster than she had, part of you thinks it's because your powers had developed so quickly you had been left alone for a good chunk of your time in the lab. Now when you started high school, you started pretty late. Joining in the last year before going off to college, You had been talking to hopper about going to school, you were always reading and studying until you had been released, so it wasn't like you were completely unaware. However you were awful at math. So you had been assigned a tutor.

Much to his demise, Billy was in fact a math wiz, and when he found out that he had to tutor you every friday night was a disaster, Of course it was on friday nights. The only time when everyone ever wants to go do something. However, what Billy didn't know? If he hadn't started tutoring you then he might have gotten himself involved into something bad. Even worse than what you dragged him into. 

It all started when you were with El at the mall trying to get her mind off of Mike, You had been starting to feel like something weird was going on for a while. But you figured it was just nerves over trying to start you own life.

You all decided to go to scoops ahoy and get some ice cream for all three of you, Your suspicions only grew when you noticed steve acting kind of weird when he gave you ice cream.

Max asked if El could stay the night that night, you didn't have any issues with it so you dropped the two of them off and decided to go to the pool and see Billy. You pulled up to see him sitting in his lifeguard tower like usual, the typical brigade of married women were drooling over him. You grabbed your swim bag that you typically left in the car and walked up to the counter

“Hi. Admission for one please.” You say softly, Billy had always told you that you were so soft spoken, part of it might have been from the lack of talking that you and El did growing up, She had gotten the more hyper and outspoken gene though. He always said it was cute though.

“Here to see your boyfriend?” The girl asked, You couldn't remember her name, You knew she had her shifts end before Billy’s though

“What? Uh.. N-no. Just my friend. Thank you” You say softly before walking away.

You changed in the locker rooms before walking out, You pushed your h/c hair out of your face and made your way directly to the lifeguard tower 

“Hi Billy!” You cry as you wander over to his seat

Billy looked down to where he had heard his name being called and grinned 

“Hey! It’s my favorite little mouse.. What are you doing here?” He grins

‘Mouse’ Had been the nickname he gave you after a few weeks of tutoring due to your quiet nature, You think that's where you two had really started to become friends. One day when he never showed up for tutoring you decided to stop by his house and see if he was okay. 

That's when you found out what his dad had been doing to him. You had promised him to not tell Hopper only if he promised to talk to you when he needed it. After then. That's when everyone started to think you guys were dating. You had gone through the thought process a couple of times in you're head. But you knew he was saving up to move back home to california so you pushed the thoughts aside, ‘keep things casual’ you told yourself.

“I thought I come by and say hi! Go for a swim. El and Max went home for a sleepover and I had nothing better to do” You smile

Billy chuckled “I see. I'm just your boredom last resort” He teases

You frown “Oh shut up.. I actually wanted to ask if you wanted to hang out too. We could go to that diner we always go to!”

Billy pushed his sunglasses down and stared into your  e/c eyes with his piercing blue ones 

“Y/n Hopper… Are you asking me out on a date?” He grins

You could feel your cheeks heat up. You couldn't tell if it was because of his comment. Or him using your full name. Being addressed as nineteen for so many years of your life kind of stuck.. El still went by her nickname rather than jane. But Nineteen can't really be shortened into anything..

“What? Nu uh! I just.. They have really good french fries..” You mutter, this earned one of his laughs. His real laughs, only you could draw them from his lips

“I'm just teasin’ ya Y/n/n. I get off in 2 hours.. You could stay here and keep me company. Or I could pick you up?”

You gave it some thought. You liked him.. You really did.. But you had work at home that needed to be done..

“Uh.. Can you pick me up? Hopper asked me to clean up so.. I need to finish that”

Billy smiled and nodded “Sure thing, Doll..”

‘Doll’.. He started calling you that more and more.. You noticed him using the term to the various girls he kept on his arm throughout your senior year. But this time it felt.. Different..

Things at dinner went great.. Really great.. He had kissed your cheek when he dropped you off.. But now? It was the fourth of July. You had honestly expected him to be off at some party. But when he asked if he could spend it with you? All you could do was grin and nod, You considered going to the festival in town but decided that it would be too crowded, You still weren't a big fan of large groups of people. So you two opted for seeing back to the future and then getting some ice cream afterwards. 

During the movie you could swear that you had heard steve’s voice talking to dustin. But you brushed it off. You were friends with steve, but mostly because El would drag you over to her boyfriend's house and steve would typically be there “Babysitting” but you knew he just liked the kids.

Your first run in with him hadn't been the best. Billy was pissed that max wasn't where she was supposed to be after you guys hung out one night. He drove to where Jonathan and his little brother lived and steve came out. He insisted that Max wasn't there, but when Billy saw her in the window? If you hadn't been with him to calm him down? You don't know what might have happened. Billy's temper seems to have subdued his anger.

After the movie, you walked out of the theatre you knew you saw steve. His big head of hair is recognizable anywhere

“Hey! Steve!” You call before jogging up to him only to be met with Dustin, Steve, A little girl and someone who you think is named Robin? She was also wearing the same uniform as steve 

“Shut up! We are in huge trouble.. And now you are, Just follow us and… Billy?” Steve stopped when he saw billy behind you 

“What's going on?” He asks confused, he had moved closer to you and wrapped his arm around around your waist

“Uh.. We may or may not have broken into a secret russian lab and now we have evil Russians trying to kill us. That's why steve’s face is fucked up” Dustin says quickly “Now we need to hurry!”

You looked at billy and raised an eyebrow “Okay.. Now what's really happening?”

After nearly getting shot at 3 times. You finally realized what was happening. But when your little sister arrived with everyone else, that's when you realized that something really was happening and you were scared.

Lucas had stolen a bunch of fireworks in case of emergency. And El had a giant bandage around her leg. After interrogating everyone into telling you what the fuck was going on? That's when all hell broke loose.

The ceiling of the mall shattered. And you were suddenly face to face with the mind flayer. This thing had been haunting you and your sisters dreams for months. While El closed the gate. You were on the surface trying to fight off it's mutant dog henchmen. But this time? El had used her powers too much and she couldn't muster the energy to even get up. She did her coke can test earlier and could barely even crush it.. You however had been saving your power in case of emergency. And now? Your sister was laying on the ground. Lucas had just thrown the last firework and the mind flayer was closing in.

El had been trying to get away and suddenly one of it's tentacles had lunged towards billy

“NO!!” You scream before you ran towards him, It had drove one of its tentacles into billy's shoulder, everything around you had just turned to static. You raised your arms in front of you and forced every last bit of energy you possibly could out of you. You yanked the tentacle from his shoulder and watched as Billy fell limply into the ground. This only made you scream louder as you began to rip the entire being to shreds from the inside out. Manipulating it's matter into dust, You remember hearing someone screaming into the walkie talkie to close the gate, Your body felt so tired. A mixture of never using your powers and exerting so much energy. As soon as you saw the being collapse, you did the same. your nose was pouring blood, you would be surprised if you just suffered a small stroke in the process, you felt like you couldn't breathe, You heard screams of both horror and cheers of victory. You felt so tired. You could feel something pulling you closer, words were being spoken but they sounded so muffled. Slowly i tuned back into the world around you. In and out of consciousness 

“Please don't leave me.. Y/n I can't lose you..”

Billy?

“Please I can't lose you.. You’re the only thing keeping me here.. Y/n/n please!”

Billy? Billy i'm right here!

You felt the voice breaking and water dripping on you, Tears?

“B-Billy” You manager to muster out weakly. God you were so tired..

“Y/n? Baby please stay with me.. I swear to god if you die I'm going to kill you” He says with a relieved tone

You couldn't help but laugh “I'm not gonna die.. Not yet. I'm.. So tired..” You sigh before everything else came into focus. The entire party was surrounding you. El was standing. You let out a sigh of relief. She was okay.. But Billy. His right shoulder was covered in blood 

“Billy! Y-you need a doctor.. your arm..” You say worried

Billy shook his head “I’ll be fine..” He assures “I'm just glad you're still with me..”

After hearing what happened to Hopper.. You're dad.. Joyce had offered to take you and El into her own care. El unfortunately didn't have a choice.. But you did.. And as much as it hurt you. You chose to stay.. After everything that happened. Billy and his somewhat accidental confession to you? He admitted that the real reason he was saving so much was so the two of you could get away together.. But you felt like you needed to stay in town. Keep everyone safe. Joyce had even agreed to sell you the house. Hopper had left everything to you and El, so you decided to stay at the cabin. Your savings were going to go into fixing it up. Billy had moved out of his dad's place so quickly. He wanted to take max but he wasn't allowed. So instead Max simply snuck out almost every night to go to your home.

Things had slowly gotten better. El was slowly getting her powers back but, yours never seemed to return. You were afraid that even though the hospital confirmed no brain damage. Whatever was done to you. You exert so much so fast you just.. Broke it.. But it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. And things with Billy had gotten so much better. One might even think he was an entirely different person.

But one thing you knew for sure? You were okay.. You could breathe again, and you couldn't be happier..
