i still think a lot about how technically, it's implied Anubis and Walt started dating each other before they asked out Sadie, and if Sadie had said she wasn't interested they would have gone "Entirely fair have a nice day" and proceed to just go continue to date each other.

Cause like, that was the entire thing. They decided that themselves. That things would work best if they were together (as in both physically sharing a body and also relationship-wise). The "asking Sadie about it" part was secondary. If she had said no, they would have stayed together, because among other things Walt would kind of die if they didn't. Walt and Anubis are technically the first gay couple in the Riordanverse. AND they're in a polyamorous relationship with Sadie. Why does no one talk about them ever.

Lester Papadopoulos is a ridiculous name, yes. But do you think Zeus chose it for another reason outside of just humiliating his son? Think about it, in the Riordanverse it's repeatedly stated that "names have power"

Early on in Percy Jackson, characters didn't like to use the gods or monsters' names without reason because it gave them power to find them. Names having power is an even bigger theme in The Kane Chronicles where you could see someone's soul if you knew their true name. Names are how the gods are remembered and thereby how they stay alive -- they give them power. Apollo is very a powerful name, it's a name that radiates divinity. Leaving his name as Apollo while punished could've left him with more godly power. But Lester Papadopoulos is a pathetic sounding name, you don't think highly of someone with a name as stupid as that. And that was exactly Zeus' point. By giving Apollo the name Lester, Zeus was reducing Apollo's power further. Attempting to make him as pathetic as his name and render him literally powerless

Been wanting to ask, what is your opinion on the Kane Chronicles? Your recent fanfic has me thinking of that series, and thinking of Bast calling Scar her 'Tom Cat' lol.

*does a google* Oh yeah the Rick Riordan stuff! I have heard of those books! But I’ve never read them. To be fair, I was in my late 20s when they came out and my appetite for YA fiction has never been very strong as an adult, so.

Also for someone who’s been into ancient Egypt for most of my life, I actually consume very little Egyptian-themed media bc the Autism gets Very Cross when there are Inaccuracies or Misinformation, so. It’s why I waited so long to watch Cub’s s7 bc I didn’t want to find out he’d messed it up somehow and made my brain sad. :( I’m so glad he didn’t! It’s probably my favourite Hermit base of all the seasons I’ve watched. :D

That said, Small Gods by Terry Pratchett is my favourite Egyptian-themed book that’s actually not Egyptian-themed at all, and it can be a deep theological read if you want it to be. 

Also idk if Bast would call Scar Her tom cat tho. It doesn’t feel right for their relationship vibe as I see it in this AU. Nor does it sound like something She might call a devotee. It just feels ... off somehow. For a god She was wanting to bang? Sure! But to call a devotee that just doesn’t feel right to me. But you do you, if that kind of vibe works for you. It’s just not something I would ever include in this AU.

It’s funny how I’ve never seen any Arab representation anywhere in the PJO and HoO fandom. Like never, even in fics and fanart. It shows just how much we are far from accurate representation. I was personally so happy when I first read the Magnus Chase and Kane Chronicles series ! Even if the representation was a bit rocky, I was still happy.

SO, I think I’m gonna start posting some Arab representation fanart, fanfic and headcanons in the PJO and HoO fandom. If anyone wants to join, you are welcome to ! (If you have any questions my ask box is open)

love that in my upcoming au where house of anubis is filled with demigods, a child of the big three coming into this meant-to-be safe place for their kind, immediately is made an enemy by a daughter of ares, and the big three kid will eventually end up with a child of athena
