Helluva hotel fanfic(what do you think I take constructive critisims)
Chapter 1:closing
Blitzo picks up the horse standee covered in gems that he had bought a while back and placed it atop a box with other things. Papers filled to the brim with really nothing of importance, mainly random horse drawings and the “research” he managed to recollect after it flew out the window. Millie.moxxie. And Stolas also helped him pack.
”Are you sure you want to give up on this?” Stolas asked. Moxie and Millie looked at blitz with sadness and grief in their eyes. While they hadn't been successful blitz had made a name for himself. They still lived in the low-class. Millie had to lie to her parents about how well freelance was going but nonetheless they enjoyed the adventures they had.
“I really appreciate you all helping, as much as I kid around about you being my family here, I mean it. I mean you all are the closest thing to a family I have so I really hope we all stay in touch. I also want to thank you Stolas especially since you don't really work at IMP unless you count supplying access” Blitz responds.
With happy tears in his eyes as Stolas gives a slight smile the 666 news channel comes on the tv with Charlie and Lucifer replacing the spaces and pushing away Katie killjoy and tom trench as they yell at them.
Charlie whispers a quick “sorry” before looking back at her dad. Lucifer begins hitting a stack of papers against the table while squinting through his glasses, mumbling trying to make out his chicken-scratch handwriting.
Charlie rips the papers out of his hand and throws them back. “ Me and my father have been talking and he originally wanted to force everyone-” Charlie says with a hint of anger and attitude.
Lucifer cuts her off and says “ But we decided that we won't force anyone, although I offered to do it as a form of punishment-”
“ Because we can't force people to redeem themselves they have to choose to and the hotel is to help not punish people, although he did pitch it to me like a parole office or being sentenced to rehab like on earth sense we don't have jail in hell”. Charlie looks at her father knowing he's probably about to cut her off again mainly because he gets too excited and blurts stuff out but he notices the look and keeps quiet while looking at his daughter. “ Anyway we’re getting off track. The main point is that white we are not forcing anyone to come, we highly encourage everyone to give redemption a shot and try to better themselves”.
“Isn't this basically free therapy?” Tom asked from the background right before the broadcast closed.
“Dang it, they're probably the reason we had to close, also why'd that woman sound so much like me?” Blitz asked.
Moxie replied “ Why are you blaming the business’s downfall on the princess again?”
“Because with all the sinners going there I bet no one cares about getting revenge on those who wronged them in the living world, they're too busy worrying about getting he redeemed” Blitz says in his usual all-caps screaming tone.
Stolas pointed a finger up and responded “ Uhmm I actually think her business isn't doing much better than yours although I don't think they actually charge people to stay there so if they're not even trying to profit I’m not sure if it’s still considered a business, it's been quite the topic of discussion recently”.
Blitz trying to find something to pin the blame of the businesses downfall on says “ I don't believe it! I sure they had something to do with us closing, were gonna go there and find out for ourselves”
“If that’s what you want, boss, we'd be happy to come along” Millie says.
“Millie can I talk to you for a moment, ya know in private” Moxie responds. Moxie and Millie head out to right outside the door. Blitz was listening in head against the wall, usually moxie would check but today everything was too hectic to do so.
“ We’re finally able to get away from Blitz, we can finally be alone. I think if we do this one thing with him we'd be stuck with him forever. Him constantly trying to get in on what we're doing” he told Millie. Blitz pupils became almost nothing in his eyes as they shrunk from listening in to what Moxxie had said.
“I love you Mox but, do you remember when we first met? The only thing you could think to talk about was yer best friend, blitz. I honestly thought you and him might have had something going on at first” Millie responded.
“I love you so much too Millie , you're what's important. I only thought he was meaningful in my life because I met him when I was in a tough spot but now that I know you I can see that he's not really of anything of importance” Moxie responded. Moxie then went back into the room with the rest of them. Millie although still seeming not Completely satisfied with the result of their conversation entered with him. Blitz backed away from the door right before they came through and continued packing up as though he heard nothing. Blitz pretended to be fine as he always did. Stolas couldn't hear what was going on I the other room however he could tell blitz wasn't taking it lightly. He wanted to comfort blitz but wasn't sure how especially after all that's happened. He nervously put his hand over blitz's hand trying to console him.
Blitz looked up at stolas smiling “ do you maybe want a hug?” stolas asked.
Blitz looked at his face and was riddled With guilt he immediately teared his hand away and held both of his own hands together nervously “ sorry I…”. Stolas interrupts “ no, no sorry I overstepped…again”. Blitz wanted to say something like “it's okay” but he wasn't sure the exact words. He couldn't hand the guilt. Him and stolas hadn't even talked after what happened. He didn't even know how stolas knew about them closing. He felt bad that even though he had gotten him hurt and then ghosted him he still showed up to help with such a simple task. Moxxie and millie saw them but didn't assume what was going om had anything to do with they Were talking about just another day them.
“Do you still want to go check out the hotel blitz?” Stolas asked.
“YEPPPP” blitz responds sounding super exited to cover up their previous conversation.
Millie with slight anger in her voice Said “I'm going with blitz and stolas you can come if you want moxxie”. Moxxie looks co fused with the sudden attitude but follows anyway

Cleopatra in Space Review
The mythology and history of Cleopatra, pharaoh of Egypt, has often been a topic in popular culture, from Hollywood films, webcomics like Everywhere and Nowhere, and mature animated series such as Clone High. This year, a new show, titled Cleopatra in Space, tapped into those myths and stories and began streaming on NBCUniversal’s new streaming service, Peacock.
Reprinted from Pop Culture Maniacs, my History Hermann WordPress blog on Jan. 5, and Wayback Machine. This was the second article I wrote for Pop Culture Maniacs. This post was originally published on December 22, 2020.
The animated series is based on a graphic novel series of the same name by Mike Maihack, with Doug Langdale and Julia “Fitzy” Fitzmaurice as showrunners. As a fan of various animated series, especially those with sci-fi elements, this series drew me in, even though it’s aimed toward younger kids, rather than young adults or mature adults over age 18. Egyptian themes and mythology are interwoven throughout the show’s imagery and music, composed by Jay Vincent and Ryan Lofty.
The series begins with the premise that brown-skinned Cleopatra “Cleo,” voiced by Lilimar Hernandez, a rambunctious teenage princess in Ancient Egypt, touches a tablet, which sends her 30,000 years into the future. She enters the Nile Galaxy, where she is considered the “savior” to defend the galaxy from the evil clutches of Octavian (voiced by Jonathan Kite) and attends an intergalactic high school on a planet, Mayet, governed by a council of talking cats. Lilimar also sings the theme song, “Written in the Stars,” which opens every episode.
The show’s first season, which is 13 episodes long, begins Cleo’s adventures with her friends Brian (voiced by Jorge Diaz) and Akila (voiced by Katie Crown), and her mentor, Khensu. Cleo is shown to be sometimes brash, dislikes authority, and likes to do her own thing. However, she also respects Khensu (voiced by Sendhil Ramamurthy) and supports her friends, apologizing if she made a mistake or overstepped. Unlike other shows where the protagonist wants to talk rather than fight, she fights the robotic soldiers of Octavian, destroying them repeatedly, using futuristic weapons like laser guns and plasma staffs. At the same time, she is a relatable character, is resourceful, and can go into action as needed, not even needing to plan. She, Brian, and Akila form a team, which go on wild adventures, whether on Mayet or in the Nile Galaxy, fighting space scavengers, space butterflies, robotic dragons, or angry ex-cons who work at a space hotel. While there are serious moments, the show is filled with comedic moments. Like other animations, teamwork and friendship are emphasized.
Cleopatra in Space has compelling characters and stories, and various sci-fi themes, like time travel. Apart from Maihack confirming Cleo as having attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in the graphic novels, which means that she would have the same characteristics in the animated series, Brian is shown to have social anxiety and Akila as a busybody who enjoys school. Specifically, Akila, unlike Cleo, who detests school, likes to study in libraries and is very gregarious. Cleo is further shown to have an academic rival, who is unique to the animated series, named Callie (voiced by Kari Wahlgren) and Zaid (voiced by Xolo Maridueña), a so-called “bad boy” who Cleo has a crush on. Additionally, the episode “Quarantine” has a lot of parallels to the current COVID-19 crisis, as Cleo ends up infecting the whole school campus with a virus from another planet after she ignores Khensu’s warning to quarantine. However, licensing issues have prevented it from being added to Peacock.
Currently, half of the show’s second season, six episodes, are listed on Peacock for streaming. This season begins with Cleo getting her own animal companion named Mihos, like similar companions in other animated series: Kero in Cardcaptor Sakura, Amaru in LoliRock, Luna in Sailor Moon, and Nut in Magical Girl Friendship Squad. The mystery of Octavian deepens as Cleo and her team tries to search for the UTA Tablet, while Zaid is expelled by the council. Like season one, there are many sci-fi and fantasy vibes, including simulated realities and futuristic technology. The importance of self-worth, accepting who you really are, and controlling your ego, are major points of these episodes, including when Brian employs an A.I. named Cyrano (voiced by Greg Cipes) to help him become more popular. Furthermore, at times Cleo begins to distance herself from her friends, while at others she plays matchmaker between Brian and Akila, whose romance expands during these episodes, and tries to establish herself as the team leader. In one episode, “School Break,” the show’s first confirmed LGBTQ characters are introduced: Theoda (voiced by Cissy Jones) and Pothina (voiced by Kari Wahlgren), the mothers of Akila.
If the show is renewed for a third season, after the second half of season 2 is added to Peacock, hopefully, the show improves moving forward. For one, the show could have more LGBTQ characters other than Theoda and Pothina. While Cleo and her friend Akila, who are roommates, do kiss each other in the episode “Do-Over,” it is clearly shown to be a “friendship kiss,” rather than a romantic one. Any same-sex pairings, either of Brian and Zaid, Akila and Cleo, or Cleo and Callie, some of which are favored by those in the small fandom for the show, are unlikely in the upcoming season, due to the emphasis on Brian and Akila as a would-be couple, and Zaid and Cleo are shown to have feelings for one another. The show could further benefit from re-casting the voices of brown-skinned characters, like Lakshmi and Yosira, so they are voiced by people of color rather than White actors like Kari Wahlgren.
If Cleopatra in Space is a success, it may result in more animated shows from DreamWorks are added to Peacock in the future, instead of on Netflix, like most animated shows from the company. However, due to the lack of promotion by DreamWorks and Peacock of the show on Twitter, and in general, there is a possibility that the show will be canceled after the second half of season two is added to Peacock. In the end, the show is fun, exciting, and can be enjoyed by everyone, worth watching in its entirety.

Sure, here’s a bit from the last chapter, The Road Back:
“You haven’t got much stuff,” Effy notes, glancing at Emily’s luggage—a single, small bag next to Katie’s two overstuffed suitcases. Effy’s only got one bag, too, bigger than Emily’s but it still makes Katie wish she’d been more prudent in her packing. They’ll only be ten days, after all.
Emily nods. “No,” she admits. “I haven’t. I won’t be staying long.”
“What d’you mean?” Katie asks, surprised. This is the first she’s heard of it; she’d just come to accept that her twin would tag along like a decrepit, lonely widow on holiday with her well-appointed and happily engaged sister. In a fit of pique, Katie had enjoyed the fantasy of it, anyway.
“Much as I like you,” Emily says, a hint of amused sarcasm in her voice, “I’d rather not completely ruin your holiday. I’ve booked a room at a separate hotel, and I’ve got an idea of things I’d like to see on my own, that’s all.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I am telling you. This is me telling you, Katie.”
“Christ, you know what I fucking mean.”
“It’s just not a big deal, okay? You’ll have a better time without me.”
That much is true, and truth wins out, so Katie doesn’t bother arguing, but she silently worries; Emily appears less brittle than she did the first few days after her break-up with Naomi, but touring London on her own seems ill-advised; and Katie isn’t sure whether it means Emily is trying to move on by tucking a callous adventure under her belt, or if she’s still emotionally lost, and looking to fall deeper into the void.
Once they are on the train, it’s Effy who broaches the verboten subject.
“You alright, then?” she asks Emily. “You don’t have to talk about it, but I know where we can go. If you’re looking to forget, that is.”
“Straight to the fucking point,” Emily says, smiling a little as she tips her head against the window and stares out. (Katie only sees a blur of trees and a soft white sky.) “I’m fine, really.” After a pause, she adds, “Not fine yet, but I will be, and a little distance might do me some good.”
“It’s none of my business, and you can tell me to shut the fuck up if you’d like, but she does love you. She’s wrecked, too," Effy says.
Katie’s eyes dart to Effy’s in time to see Effy, for a moment, looking back.
Emily grimaces. “A lot of good it’s done us. Just look how well we’re doing,” she says, her derision tempered by time. Katie remembers the first torrents of hot rage that poured out of her once she'd finished sobbing her eyes out, at the beginning of it. Rather, at the beginning of the end. What’s left now is less angry than sad, tired.
“I know, but if anyone’s got a chance, you do. Maybe it isn’t over, not for good.”
“And if it is?”
“Then you’ll have a lovely memory.”
“Doubt it,” Emily says. “Once a relationship ends, people only remember the bad, don’t they?”
“Then you’ll just have to try to not be most people.”
Katie watches the conversation like she might an episode of Eastenders, detached yet horrified--listening to Effy pretend to be hopeful about love is doing her head in. Where is the pragmatist who only a few months earlier wagered twenty quid on Naomi and Emily’s romantic demise? Whose concept of love is reduced to “whatever that means,” as though words have no concrete meaning? What is this bollocksy prattle about rose-coloured memories and unlikely reunions?
Emily shrugs Effy’s words away, tired, maybe, of the conversation; of having to dig into fresh wounds. Katie’s tired of it, too.

A Super Con Adventure
Chapter 1: Unveiling the Surprise
Katie McGrath, the talented actress known for her role as Lena Luthor in the hit TV show Supergirl, had a special surprise in store for her daughter. It was a sunny morning when Katie approached her daughter's bedroom with a sparkle in her eyes. She knocked gently on the door and called out, "Sweetheart, are you ready for an adventure?"
The door swung open, revealing a curious and excited young girl named Emily, who looked just like her mother with her striking green eyes. "What kind of adventure, Mom?" Emily asked, her face lit up with anticipation.
Katie beamed, unable to contain her excitement any longer. "We're going to Comic-Con, my dear! And not just any Comic-Con, but the one dedicated to Supergirl."
Emily's eyes widened, and she squealed with delight. "Really? That's amazing! Thank you, Mom!"
Chapter 2: The Super Con Experience
Arriving at the Supergirl-themed Comic-Con, Katie and Emily were immediately swept up in a sea of colorful costumes, passionate fans, and an electrifying atmosphere. They couldn't help but feel the contagious energy that filled the air.
As they explored the convention floor, they encountered fans dressed as their favorite Supergirl characters, including Supergirl herself, Alex Danvers, and even a few villains like Reign and Lex Luthor. Emily's eyes sparkled with joy as she posed for photos with the cosplayers, who were delighted to meet the daughter of their beloved Lena Luthor.
Katie watched her daughter with a mix of pride and admiration. She couldn't help but be reminded of the impact the show had on so many lives, including her own. The love and support from the fans were overwhelming, and she was grateful for the opportunity to share this experience with Emily.

Emily, beaming with excitement, mustered up the courage to speak. "I love Supergirl so much, Mr. Harewood! Can I have a hug?"

After a long year of working, is his time to rest. Tour life is tiring but also rewarding, work with the band is one of the best thing of his life ever. Travelling around the world, knowing new places, new people, enjoying the parties and sharing time with the band is his routine a big portion of the year. But this little part of it it’s called holidays. A time where not to worry about the shows, the safety of the band, the press, the stalking fans… A time where his only worry is if he sunburnt or if he couldn’t take a table at the hotel’s restaurant.
Before leaving for his vacations, he met with the boys and, after a lot of chat and some drinks, he talked about his holidays and mentioned where he would be hosted, leaving a tiny card to Roger with the telephone of the hotel and the room number handwritten.
“If you need me, call me. But that must be quite urgent, not because we forgot something in a venue and you need me to pick it. I’ll be in another country, so, be aware that if you need me, I need time to go there” he said.
“Thank God you didn’t choose Rio de Janeiro or Bali, those places are quite far away from here” Roger added.
“Yeah, but I hope that we don’t need you and you can enjoy some holidays, you deserve the rest Miami” John said, patting Miami’s back.
Miami smiled kindly.
“You work hard, you need some fun” Freddie said, smiling kindly. “Bring some gifts, please!” he added, exclaiming.
“Of course Freddie, I’ll try to bring something for the four of you” Miami said, drinking his beverage and leaving it on the table.
He was remembering that night with the band, it was the previous night before his flight to France. Now, in Saint-Tropez, it’s his time for some beach time (no pun intended). He’s ready to enjoy a day on the beach, chilling near to the water, doing absolutely nothing productive more than drinking a cold beverage at the beach’s bar, sunbathing and swim in the beautiful Mediterranean waters.
After a long day on the beach, he returns to the hotel, where he would take a shower and think in some afternoon-evening plans. The receptionist see him and left what they was doing to call Miami.
“Mister Beach!” the receptionist exclaims.
“Yes?” Jim asks.
“Someone called Roger Dalton called you some hours ago. He told me that you need to call him as soon as possible”
After some seconds, he recognizes that it was Roger calling him. His expression now changed from chill to worried.
“Thank you” he affirms, going to take the elevator. He walks a little bit faster. “what’s going on now?” he thoughts.
He enter to the room and after leaving his bag on the sofa, he takes the phone and call the headquarters.
“Queen Productions Limited” the receptionist said.
“Hello Mindy”
“Mister Beach!” she exclaims.
“Yes. Roger’s there?”
“Yes, I’ll comunicate with him now” she says, pressing some numbers to call the proper intern.
After a brief time, Roger’s voice sounds from the other side of the phone.
“Hello Miami” Roger greets Jim, with a worried voice.
“Roger! What’s going on now?” Jim asks.
“We need your help with some contracts, we received an offer to touring around South America… Some dates in Brazil, perhaps Argentina”
“That would be…?”
“Around late February and early March 1981”
“It’s near to Japan leg”
“Yes but I think we can do it anyway”
Jim sighs.
“Okay I’ll take a bath and I’ll buy a plane ticket for tomorrow. Gladly this was near to my holidays’ end and not when I just came” he said.
“Yeah… see ya tomorrow Miami". Roger says.
"See you Roger, bye" Miami added.
Both hang up.
Jim sighs again.
His holidays ended suddenly but at least more adventures will come. And that makes him happy.
