can I just say. I just genuinely dislike Amulet's lack of agency and tension in the plot

I'm writing this out here in a super rambling way bc I can't organize my thoughts and I may forget if I don't get it out now,

but like,

it really was a terrible idea to introduce the plot point that Trellis's and Luger's memories were erased. That just straight up obliterated any chances to give us a reason to be invested in their motivations when it's clear there are no experiences backing those motivations, considering they don't, y'know. EXIST.

I'd be able to swallow it better if Trellis has like, trauma-related memory issues. Like that's my to go in my head.

Another is that I deeply dislike that these two are blood related, bc that like, implies Trellis's compassion towards Luger was bc of their subconscious "filial" bond, instead of Trellis's choice. Not to mention, it just confuses too many people on how tf the line of succession work, and also it never made any sense anyways, and rereading it?? The way kazu revealed it was TERRIBLE. It's not just unnecessary, it was revealed in the most excruciatingly incompetent way of writing possible. I'm shocked that didn't end up getting edited to be better or a the very least removed that dialogue

another is that Emily's actions have no bearings on the plot. Or at the very least, a lot that seemed crucial?? DOESN'T HAVE ANY FUCKING CONSEQUENCES PERIOD. Be it on her, on her way of thinking or how other people perceive her!! It never evolves, if it does, it's baseless!!! Are you telling me she just lost the most powerful magical artifact to enemy hands bc she was tricked and bc she prioritized her family over like, the countless of lives she stands for as a member of the Resistance, and all she gets is a SLAP ON THE WRIST??? No fear or lack of self confidence or paranoia or self-blame? No reprimand or anger or blame from any ally, just complete understanding and support from everyone?? And somehow she gains even more determination and confidence???? Based on what?? "because I have to be" GIRL WHAT?????

another is Emily's main motivation being her family but like. GIRL where is the protectiveness? the worry?? Navin got separated in book 6 and just bc he's with Aly THAT'S FINE WITH YOU?? the faith is touching yes but based on what grounds?? My older sister is the most competent and responsible person I know and I still worry myself sick if she takes too long to come home from school and that's all you have to say, about your brother who went missing in an underground city infested w body stealing spirits in the MIDDLE OF WAY/BATTLEFIELD??? And it's not like Karen was any better about her kids wellbeing like UGH, the series suffers from the sheer lack of buildup to back up all this.

Star Sign -birth- TEAM01 - Release commemoration 🌟 Short Story

"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?"

When I smiled and said that, Ritsu, who was next to me, made a clearly exasperated face.

His thinning eyebrows became even finer. In response to the faint but definite tremor around his eyes, I couldn't help but let a smile creep across my face.

(Cute)

His unadorned expression was fresh and so cute that I couldn't help but…. What if I told him the truth? He would probably frown even more.

"Natsume Soseki?" Rui's voice gently seeps into the deep indigo night sky. Then, continuing, Yosuke and Souta say, "Too old-fashioned," and "It's fine since it's romantic." "Don't give up on wooing him, Prince," said Minato. The casual sounds drew ripples, touched someone's heart with meaning, and soaked in as I witnessed it. (Ah. That's nice.) This must be "what I wanted". That's why I wanted to be an actor.

My parents were busy with work, and I was often alone at home. I still don't know the scene of a family gathering that often appears in dramas. I only know that "it seems to exist to some extent that can be presented as a common recognition to the general public".

As long there's mininal communication, I just have to be quiet and smile vaguely. Because everyone says to me - "Kazuki-kun is a beautiful and well-behaved child". I never thought that was particularly unhappy, though. (I didn't know what to compare it to) To begin with, there was no one at home who I wanted to reach out to, and there was no word that I wished to reach me either. (There wasn't, really…. But, that's right, isn't it? It's a bit difficult to wish for something you don't know at all.

"It's scary how smoothly you can say that kind of line…" "Really? Is that so?"

I answer with a cheerful voice, and a small sigh escapes from Ritsu's thin, well-shaped lips, making me even happier.

"Hey. Did I look really cool just now?" "You sound like you've been saying that for a hundred years and it's terrifying." "Oh, you found out." "…What?" "I practiced a lot, but you found out. I wanted to confess more casually."

How much you changed my life, something like that. (You don't know, do you?) Through the screen, your bright and clear voice, your earnest passion, lifted me up and illuminated me when I was still a kid. (But, you don't have to know.)

The sound that beats in my chest. The feeling that has no name. The colors that seep into the air. The distant sparkle that is like reaching for a star that can't be reached - the shapeless longing that flickered in my heart, it's because of you.

"Ugh…a public confession, gross." "Yousuke, don't say that! …Sorry, Kazu-san. He probably doesn't mean much by it." "Hey. Either follow up or put me down, choose one." "Anyway, it's amazing that you can say that without any hesitation." "It seems like all the girls would be thrilled by that."

"I'd probably totally freak out if I were a girl, though…" "By the way, why is there not a single car passing by since a while ago, when I want to hitchhike!?" "It can't be helped, it's late at night." "Are you already exhausted from walking up the hill for five minutes?" "What? If you're going to say that, you can carry me on your back, gorilla." "Speaking of Ibara-san, he didn't show up at the site today." "Maybe he's busy with various things?" "That guy, seriously…" "I'm tired… I want to go home and take a bath!"

The sparkle of words that break in front of my eyes.

(It's fine if only I know) The common sparkle that taught me how beautiful it is. The joy, the sadness, the many feelings that it brought to me. How much it enriched my heart, my life. The longing that drove me, that brought me to this moment, to this place, it was undoubtedly you. I will never forget, for the rest of my life.

(Even if you can't love yourself as much as you want) It's okay. I will love you for that.

"…What?" "Nothing, never mind."

In the southern sky, a bright and round silver moon that erases countless stars. While listening to the glittering voice as if embracing it in the depths of my chest, the six of us walked side by side, aiming for the same place.

to expand on the enomotos part.

i feel like their effect on rai cannot be understated, especially kazue's, who said she considered rai to be like her daughter. she was probably the most fanatic among the original akashic people, one could argue it was noriyuki but honestly i think in his case its feelings of genuine love before anything, the enomotos were there for idolatry first and foremost. i feel like noriyuki also had common sense for the most part abd a conscience, trying to inch rai towards telling minoru what had she had done, recognizing from the start that it was a horrible thing to do. his own fanaticism was a byproduct of hatsutori pushing all the shiny red buttons and driving him insane. the slay of it all unfortunately.

i do not think the enomotos had any of that to begin with. maybe george weakly considered it was wrong for a moment but swallowed those inhibitions back down because it was all for the sake of developing a new origin!

rai was goaded on by kazue with sentiments like "noa turned out fine!" and other pressures. rai absolutely idolized the enomotos as someone who lost her entire family and probably saw them as some kind of ideal, no doubt in my mind she was consciously chasing after it, the rose colored vision of the perfect enomoto family. of course, i feel like rai was going to give her firstborn to empyrean anyway, but let's not erase the role of the enomotos in that.

its important for me not to erase that the members of empyrean were also victims themselves. i think that's common sense. but my human feelings overwhelm that common sense! i can't feel bad for them. they still are but them getting high off their own drama and killing themselves only to leave behind their child to deal with the fallout is a bit too much for me to forget about and file away. call that the vibe atomic bomb!!!! drove noriyuki a little more crazy, indirectly put further strain on the isoi marriage, fucked up noa for life. but honestly this is the kind of thing that happens in cults lol, its good this is a human experimentation cult and not a human sacrifice cult at least.

maybe im a little biased against them but they were definitely my least favorite characters in the dlc by far. the dlc with literal abusive parents and bullies btw

⚡ What gods would you associate with them

Amir came to me quickly- he's Dionysus, the god of ecstasy and figure of hedonistic indulgences. Not only is Dionysus associated with art and literature and invoked for inspiration and expression, Dionysus is also a champion of vices and of the carnal within men... truly a god of indulgence. Not just a jolly fat guy wearing grape vines (images later associated with the god), Dionysus was known for having violently devoted cult followers who famously ripped his cousin and company to pieces bare handed for trying to spy on and subsequently interfere with their private festivities.

For mori... I think maybe Sun Wukong though they're more of a legendary figure than a deity. Sun Wukong was a chaotic hero who caused problems for the gods and interrupted their celestial court (and stole their peaches of immortality). An archetypal rebel, Sun Wukong regularly pissed the gods off by crashing their banquets, eating their food, giving himself ludicrous titles, refusing to die when executed, and survived being imprisoned under a mountain for 500 years. Yes! Kazu's got a pretty high alcohol tolerance (his metabolism is stupid efficient). He only drinks maybe once a week or so, so he's not used to hard liquor benders but he can drink like 5 or 6 highballs in an hour or two and only be slurring a little.
