izuku protects people. he takes care of them. it’s who he is, who he will always be.

it can be exhausting at times. the burden weighing heavily on his shoulders when he gets home. too tired to even take a shower or clean himself up properly and so he just crashes on the sofa, costume half taken off and legs dangling from the side. heavy when he loses another person right before his eyes and he can’t sleep properly for the next week, and then it happens again. heavy when he thinks of the possibilities of what could happen, happen to you.

but he knows if had the choice to do it all again, he would.

izuku protects you. he takes care of you. it’s what he wants to do, what he loves.

but he also loves how you protect him. how you take care of him. you leave him feeling so…loved. wanted. he cherishes that feeling. he cherishes you.

he loves how you take care of him in the little ways. how you prepare him some lunch in the mornings before he leaves because you know how he forgets to eat sometimes (a lot of times). how you hold him in your arms when it’s been a particularly rough day, ignoring how your shirt was steadily getting soaked and how he clung to you like if he let go the world might end.

how you give him a kiss on both of his cheeks, specifically his dimples everyday — before you guys separate and whenever you reunite — making him smile into your neck, the dimples in question deepening on his reddening face. how you always manage to say the right things to him when — or nothing at all — even when he himself doesn’t know he needs it.

izuku loves when you take care of him. he loves how you’re everything he could ever imagine and more. he loves that you love him. he loves you.

izuku protects you. you protect him.

most of the time I feel like my batshit lexicon borne of spending most of my childhood reading is kept, like, fairly under wraps (this sentence excepted) but sometimes ppl comment on my word choice and I'm like oh ok right. normal people don't talk like that.

like yesterday I stuck my head in the back to ask if I could switch the hangers for smth and started the sentence "will I summarily executed if I—" before I realized I immediately lost EVERYONE and had to start the sentence over

#later i think i said smth was 'inscribed by [this shop policy]' and the old guy who insists on calling me kc and the sunshine band #was like 'i love the way you said that. inscribed by.' and i was like ? before realizing right. not a normal person word. #this is why in the 5th grade my record setting vocab test still stopped at 'melancholy' bc id never heard the word aloud #its fine i got like a W or X level still (out of a-z) which was college reading level. they gave me a certificate. i lost it. oops #txt

anyway continuing from the tags I put under that last post so read that first also big DSoD spoilers coming from someone who still hasn't watched it lol

I think Mokuba tries to say he understands, but under it all he's just as angry as he is sad. angry at Seto for leaving him, for making him an orphan again. angry at himself for helping him and not trying harder to keep him from killing himself. angry at Atem, what's so great about him anyway??? after all, Atem was the one who traumatized Seto. who put him in a coma, who sparked his neurotic obsession with duel monsters. Yugi was the one who was nice to them, who saw the good in Seto and always believed in him. and Yugi's still here, so why did he have to fucking die ?????

and then Yugi hugs him, and it's probably the first time Mokuba's been hugged since Gouzaburou adopted him.

I think after the funeral, Mokuba goes home with Yugi because he just can't stand being in that giant mansion without his brother. they stay up late and Mokuba tells him all kinds of stories about Seto being embarrassing, and being a better brother than he ever let anyone else see. when he starts to get sad again, Yugi puts a hand on his shoulder and says, "I know it's not the same, I can't ever replace him, but... I always wanted a little brother, you know."

after that, Mokuba kind of joins what's left of the friend group. he can't replace Atem, and Yugi can't replace Seto. but they can help each other grow and heal

#there's some more about Mokuba buying the game shop in Yugi's name when Sugoroku can't run it anymore #remodeling the residential parts into a expanded sales floor gaming rooms and a duel arena for tournaments #along with a partnership to sell some exclusive KC products #I also think Mokuba gets himself a nice penthouse condo and #tears down the Kaiba mansion #I want to write this Fic some day #it can go hand in hand with the gazing pool one #deep blorbo rotation #mokuba kaiba #mokuba

I feel like such a mess. I'm having back problems from lifting stuff but I can't tell if it's the "take it easy for a few days" or the "surgery and months of PT again" kind of fucked up, because these things sometimes take a few days to reveal their true form. There are unopened boxes of Ikea furniture all over the floor in the apartment. My desk has been more cluttered than usual for weeks. We're far enough into winter that supermarket apples have an unpleasant texture and it's throwing off the convenient lunch format I landed on in the fall. I finally got my health insurance set up but I still need to get dental somehow and still haven't been able to schedule my endoscopy. I feel beaten into exhaustion by medical trauma and my last job and worrying about my sick parents.

I know things will be fine again soon, especially because there was still a bit of light in the sky when I got off work today (!) and because KC is willing to be helpful and I'm willing to ask for help. But man do I feel scattered rn.

hm. i think for the first time i am. actually feeling homesick.

KC Donuts, 838 E Mission Rd, San Gabriel, CA 917769

KC Donuts has your basic old school donuts, along with breakfast sandwiches, sandwiches (ham, tuna, turkey, roast beef), muffins, bagels, croissants, fresh juices, smoothies, etc. They’re known for their sandwiches (the sandwiches are under $6). They have cake donuts, raised donuts, old fashioned, buttermilk bars, donut holes, etc. Two basic donuts cost me $2.70.

Old-fashioned: kinda pale and small, the edges were slightly crispy. No buttermilk flavor.

Chocolate cake donut with chocolate glaze and sprinkles: Fluffy and tender, but little chocolate flavor. The chocolate glaze was thinner and pretty sweet. Gourmet donut shops have spoiled me; mom and pop donut places usually have chocolate donuts with little chocolate flavor.

They have a few booths if you’d like to dine there. They even have their own parking.
