Phillip's death is so freaking poetic man... he gets melted by water, like witches in the stories, witches he's tried for centuries to get rid of, he grovels at the feat of a real witch, a human similar to him who built herself up until she was nothing like him, he tries to use the 'friendship' excuse, but we're so obviously past it, and even as Luz positions herself above him, not bothering to stoop and finish him off personally, the rest of the other characters he hurt come in and get some petty revenge. He is dissolved by the boiling rain, a statement from the Isles, the same Isles that hid the glyphs from him, the same Isles he took over and tried to destroy. Nothing will remain of him, and it is merely his fault.

I know it’s technically the main character’s job to kill the main antagonist, but I’m fine with Luz not giving Belos the final blow for a couple of reasons.

A. She already did most of the work by yanking his bitch-ass out of the Titan’s heart and melting him the boiling rain.

B. He doesn’t deserve even Luz’s reaction. It’s great that she says and does NOTHING to him as he’s begging for help from his “fellow human,” only for Luz to do nothing but watch (and turn away at one point) as he melts away.

C. THIS is the last thing he sees:

Raine, representing the very people Belos deemed evil and worthy of genocide. King, the son of the Titan who’s name he tarnished to use for twisted purposes. Eda, the relative to the woman who’s lover Belos killed due to his own twisted morals and ideals years ago.  All three of them represent something Belos abused and hated, and they’re the very thing that sends him straight to hell.

Honestly,  I couldn’t have asked for it better.

Shoutout to Dana who really said "oh, we have an hour left? well, we're gonna go out in style" and made Luz strike a deal with a bigender God with a dad bod, have Luz quote her special interest whilst defeating a crusty puritan with the power of god and anime, have said crusty puritan get stomped to death by Jesus, a nonbinary musician and a harpy wine aunt, made Lumity kiss again, made Aladarius a thing, gave future Luz the most gender design, broke the 4th wall and flipped off Disney whilst doing so.
