Hi! Monster anon! Same person who asked the vampire question, similar premise in this question, but with werewolves. So imma be more specific in the guidelines to these werewolves as to avoid confusion between medias and ask how it’d go down if one of the keepercrew got infected.

Rules:

-Infectious through serious bite, a lil nibble or scratch won’t infect

-A full transformation coincides with the full moon

-When the moon is not present lesser features like claws or fangs can be summoned, although with pain

-Slightly longer canines are always present

-The moon triggers a blood rage along with a full transformation, like, full bipedal, raging monster

-The victim wakes up with little recollection of the previous nights events

-Chronic pain and fatigue often follows infection

-More bestial instincts remain after the full moon, waxing and waning as the moon does (I.e. Elmore aggressive, irritable attitude, feeling weaker when the new moon is out,

I think it could especially be interesting if it could affect a main character, maybe Sophie or Keefe, although it would affect in different ways because of their personality. It would be an interesting thought experiment to see how Sophie or Keefe would handle the situation on top of……everything else.

For Sophie especially I think it could add an interesting layer on top of her already existing feeling of lack of control, first of her existence (experiment), then her mind (trouble with inflicting and also one of the only people who truly knows her genetics and secrets being one of the only people she physically can’t stop from entering her mind. Like for Fitz it’s because she trusts him, they worked to get to that level, the Fork just gets to do it even when he’s lied or hurt her and she can’t stop it) and now her body. (werewolf)

Hello again! The first thing I'd consider is whether or not the kotlcrew know about werewolves and how it works in this universe; are they up to date or is this infection their first exposure?

Because it would start with the injury, and concern over the afflicted's state and how they're healing and all that. But if they know about werewolves and presume the person is infected, that adds a layer to their healing--will they be better by the full moon? Are they going to lash out from these new hormones and moods and hurt someone here? Whatever it was, they could better prepare, sequestering them away from people when the full moon comes so no one is hurt or transformed themselves.

If they don't know however, and then the full moon comes...uh oh. Potential bloodbath. They may infect one or several of their friends (ayyee werewolf posse). Or kill them. And then wake up the next day not knowing they did that, confused and scared because they don't know what's happening to them. And depending on whether or not the public saw it, it could ruin their public life (as opposed to hiding their werewolf identity, if it's a stigmatized thing).

For Sophie, on top of the lack of control, it'd be the not belonging that would get to her, I think. All she's ever wanted is to fit in and now she's even further separated from her friends. There is no chance of a normal life now, there's always going to be this thing following her--and it's not like her super telepathy that's helpful or her human upbringing which she values, it's this violent, painful thing that threatens the people she cares about if she's not vigilant. That increased distance would kill her emotionally, and how is she supposed to also fight the Neverseen when her emotions are suddenly haywire and she loses days each time.

For Keefe I think the control would be the big thing, of not feeling like himself and not having a say in who or what he is. He'd totally freak, maybe try to run away again because he's convinced he's gonna kill his friends in a moment of weakness, even if the full moon isn't due for a while. It'd be really similar to his reaction to his new ability, actually. The werewolf thing is more physical, but the core is the same. Fear. Anger. Distance. Convinced there's no way to adapt and he has to suffer forever now and everything sucks and there's no changing it.

And for some reason I'm incredibly curious about either Fitz or Linh being infected instead...I haven't fully thought it through just proposing the idea. But anyway! There is a lot of potential for werewolf angst!
